6 Emmerdale cast members with famous families including Danny Miller and Will Ash

The Emmerdale cast are full of talented actors. But for some of them, showbiz runs in their family.

Everyone focuses on cast members who are together in real life, but there are actually quite a lot who grew up in a talented household. And aren’t the only famous face in their family.

Have you ever thought some of them looked like someone famous? Or thought you knew the surname from somewhere? If so here’s a rundown of those in the Emmerdale cast who have famous family members.

1. Amy Walsh

One of the most obvious ones is Amy Walsh (Tracy Robinson). Amy grew up with not just one famous sibling, but two.

One of her sisters, Sally Walsh, was actually in Emmerdale years before Amy. And despite leaving before her sister arrived, the love for the soap clearly runs in the family.

Then Amy’s other sister, Kimberly, is a member of the huge girl group, Girls Aloud. Kimberly and Amy have always had a strong bond.

When Girls Aloud recently embarked on their reunion tour, Amy posted on social media several times at the show, singing along.

2. Adam Thomas

While Adam is no longer in the show, he is best-known for playing fan-favourite Adam Barton.

Away from the show he comes from quite a talented background, as both of his brothers have appeared on our screens before.

His older brother, Ryan Thomas, is best known for playing much loved Jason Grimshaw on Coronation Street from 2000 to 2016.

And while Adam’s twin Scott hasn’t been on any soaps, the star has appeared on two seasons of Love Island. He first went on the show back in 2016. But returned on this season’s Love Island: All Stars. However, a few days ago he made the decision to quit.

3. Danny Miller

Danny Miller, best known for playing Aaron Dingle, also has a famous relative that might shock you.

His 90-year-old father, Vince Miller, is quite a legendary figure in the entertainment industry. He had a remarkable 65-year showbiz career, alongside stars like Johnny Mathis and Shirley Bassey.

Danny, who regularly hosts charity events, and Vince seem to have always had a close bond, as the star will regularly show his dad off on social media.

4. Charley Webb

Everyone may be aware that Charley Webb (Debbie Dingle) was in a long-term marriage with Emmerdale co-star Matthew Wolfenden (David Metcalfe). The couple share three sons together and despite their relationship ending, seem to manage co-parenting successfully.

But what might surprise fans is that Charley’s brother is also a well-known face. Jamie Lomas is best known for his role as Warren Fox on the Channel 4 soap, Hollyoaks.

The siblings however, tend to keep a low profile in the public eye, rarely showing any snaps together.

5. Amelia Flanagan

Tuesday February 4’s Emmerdale episode proved what a star Amelia is, playing April Windsor in the soap. She is currently at the centre of a heartbreaking storyline that has viewers gripped.

But away from Emmerdale, it seems her younger siblings actually followed in her footsteps. She is the older sister to twins William and Isabella Flanagan, who both appear in Coronation Street.

Isabella plays the troublesome Hope Stape, whereas William takes on the role of Joseph Brown.

6. William Ash

When Caleb Miligan arrived on our screens, we had no idea that he had another hugely talented soap relative in his family.

Over on the cobbles, his talented cousin, Peter Ash, played the role of loved Paul, up until recently.

When Will joined Emmerdale, Peter took to X to express his pride. He wrote: “Yes! This is my cousin, Will! He is an absolutely fantastic actor and was one of my biggest inspirations for getting into acting. Can’t wait to see him do his stuff in Emmerdale!”

All the evidence that Billyâ€™s days in the village could be numbered

Could the Emmerdale cast be set to get even smaller? As news of an ITV soap schedule change was announced, it’s inevitable that we’re going to lose some characters.

And it makes the most sense that the ones who are potentially going to go are the ones with minimal connections in the village.

One example of that is Billy. With his marriage hanging on by a thread, his wife having an affair and literally no other attachments in the village, are his days numbered?

Let’s look at all the evidence that suggests he could making an exit in 2025 – and maybe even in a body bag.

Joe and Dawn’s affair leads to Emmerdale cast change?

Currently Billy’s wife Dawn can’t keep away from Joe Tate, no matter how much she tries.

After the pair slept together, Dawn was overwhelmed with guilt and told him it would never happen again. But in true soap fashion, it does continue.

With the Joe vs Billy debate for Dawn, if her husband ever found out the truth, would he leave her? And if so, where else in the village could he even go?

No loose ends

Billy is one of the few people in the village that literally has no other family member there. So if anyone’s days are numbered, it’s going to be his.

Most of the villagers all have someone else to turn to; family members or even close friends. But Billy seems like a lone wolf in Emmerdale.

Of course, in the earlier years of Billy’s time in Emmerdale, he had quite a close friendship with Marlon Dingle, who was in a relationship with his mother. But as the years went on it seems the show has moved past their closeness.

However, he has outlasted any of his family members. Both his mum and his brother, Ellis, have appeared on the show for lengthy periods of time. But neither lasted as long as Billy.

So if he were to find out about Dawn and Joe, would he move away to actually be with his family?

Emmerdale exit evidence: Could Billy die?

Emmerdale kicked off 2025 with a lot of ominous flash-forwards that left us with a lot of questions.

We know there will be a body thrown into the river by an unknown person. And while many assumed that was John getting rid of Anthony’s body – we never actually saw that.

Could Billy find himself embroiled in conflict with someone – Joe perhaps? Or will he begin illegally fighting again and it goes wrong?

Then there was also a hand stuck under the ice. And the hand was wearing a wedding ring. We know the huge ice stunt is coming up very soon. And Emmerdale has teased which cast members are involved. So could Billy be under the ice?

If Billy does die, it opens up even more storylines for Dawn and his family, as she has just recently lost her dad, too. Then on top of mourning, she would be hit with guilt over her affair with Joe…

Emmerdale exit evidence: Fan reactions to Emmerdale character Billy

Over the last lot of months, Billy has not been a fan favourite character. In fact, some of his decisions have angered viewers.

From actively ignoring Dawn’s advice about the boxing with Ross, to refusing to move into Home Farm when they hadn’t anywhere else to go. Billy hasn’t really been the family man he appears make out that he is.

Before she began her affair with Joe, fans were even labelling Billy and Dawn as ‘painfully boring’ as the couple lost the spark they once had.

So with all of the evidence, is Billy’s time in the Emmerdale village coming to an end?

Aaron for adoption story in Emmerdale, plead fans – and they know just who he should take in

In Emmerdale Aaron continues to struggle after Anthony’s death, but fans are calling for a different route for his storyline.

With April having been found, many viewers want her friend, Dylan, to be a permanent character. And they even know who could take him in. Aaron.

In last night’s episode (February 6), Dylan was standing in the hospital corridor watching April reunite with Marlon and Rhona. And something tells us this won’t be the last we have seen from him. And with fans calling for more storylines for Aaron, could this be a new pairing in the Dales?

Emmerdale Aaron to take in Dylan?

In Emmerdale Aaron has always been someone people can turn to. And he has a history of taking people in to help them.

He, himself was taken in by Paddy when he was younger. And then when Liv came back into his life, he was quick to let her move in with him.

Not just that, but he even let Gerry move in with them when he had nowhere else to go. And he turned into a mentor style figure for the young boy before his death.

Having a family around is something that evidently means a lot to Aaron. And when Robert went to prison and Rebecca took Seb to go live with her, Aaron was gutted. Then to make matters worse, he lost his sister. So could Aaron be ready to take on the parental figure role once again? Fans think so.

Taking to a Reddit thread, fans discussed why Aaron would be the perfect candidate for taking Dylan in.

One wrote: “He [Dylan] could come in and be fostered by Aaron. It would give a nice continuation of his own relationship with Paddy. And it would give Aaron something interesting to do. He would be able to understand him more since he had such a [bleep] childhood himself. Personally, I think Aaron would be a great ‘dad.’”

Another backed up the idea, adding: “I agree. Emmerdale is in need of more teens. And Aaron needs a good story. I think it would be cool to see how he would handle raising a teen.”

Fans want Dylan and Aaron friendship

A third pointed out that even if Aaron doesn’t foster him, there is still a great chance of the pair forming a bond. As the Dingle could help him in other ways.

They wrote: “If Aaron doesn’t foster him then he can still give him a job at the scrapyard. He could have some kind of big brother / mentor role.”

However, another fan pointed out that they can see another Dingle couple taking him in.

The user penned: “I think Lydia and Sam should foster him. With Samson and Esther gone, it would give them a little more purpose. He seems like a good kid, so he wouldn’t really be a problem other than having trouble building trust with others.”

Either way, it’s clear that Dylan would fit in with a lot of characters in the village. And fans are very eager for him to stay. Especially as April could do with a solid friend in her life at the minute.

Who dies in Emmerdale limo lake stunt ‘worked out’ by fans – and it links to another flashforward

Next week, Emmerdale airs their hugely teased ice stunt, which is expected to leave villagers in grave danger.

At the start of 2025 viewers were given a glimpse into the future of many different storylines. But we had no idea if all of the flashforwards were linked. Or if they were all completely separate.

But now fans have ‘worked out’ who dies in the stunt, and it seemingly links three flashforwards together.

Next week, the lives of some of our favourite villagers will be put at risk as the soap airs two dangerous limousine crashes.

How does this happen? Well Liam and Kerry both host boys’ and girls’ nights out. And Caleb and Charity both take the drivers’ seats.

While Caleb’s anger towards Cain grows, he ends up crashing the boys’ limo. Whereas Charity swerves to avoid hitting something.

Spoilers for next week indicate one of the limos ends up on a frozen lake. And thanks to an earlier flashforward, we know someone ends up trapped underneath – banging on the ice for help.

Another flashforward saw Caleb flat-lining in hospital, while a different one showed Cain crying at a fresh grave. But how did we get there?

Well, a new fan theory has linked it all together, working out which villager is likely to die in the huge Emmerdale ice stunt. And it’s bad news for Liam.

Does Liam die?

Taking to X, one user wrote: “So we all know the men and women both have a big night out involving two limos. So I’m saying Caleb crashes as he is arguing with Cain about sleeping with Ruby. Then Liam dies in the crash. Cain cries at his grave out of guilt. And it also explains Caleb being on the monitors in hospital. And cue Jacob, the new local doctor.”

The theory neatly ties together multiple storylines, and opens many different possibilities for future stories.

If Liam were to die because Cain and Caleb were arguing, then Emmerdale fans will be losing one of their favourite unlikely friendships.

And of course Cain would feel guilty over it. Despite his bad-boy attitude, the Dingle has formed quite a close connection with Liam over the years.

And with spoilers indicating a potential engagement for Chas and Liam, could their relationship be hit with tragedy before it even takes off?

It seems the theory looks entirely possible. But viewers will have to tune in to see exactly what unfolds in the Emmerdale ice stunt.

Is Emmerdale on tonight? Soap airs at a different time yet again

ITV airs yet another schedule change that sees Emmerdale tonight once again moved from its usual 7.30pm slot.

Viewers will find another football match takes its place this week, once again impacting the schedule.

Instead, tonight’s episode will air in an earlier slot. So, here’s when you can watch Emmerdale tonight.

What time is Emmerdale on tonight?

Emmerdale will air it’s usual 30 minute episode, half an hour earlier tonight, at 7pm.

It’s been a tough week for viewers as they have been hit with multiple schedule changes to the soap thanks to the continuous coverage of football matches on ITV.

The shake-up comes during a dramatic week of Emmerdale as April was finally found. We learned the truth about her disappearance, discovering the teen was actually pregnant, and gave birth to a stillborn baby.Â

However, thanks to ITVX, viewers can still watch the episode even earlier if it suits them best. Tonight’s episode of Emmerdale is already available to watch on the streaming platform, as usual.

What happens in Emmerdale tonight?

Last night’s episode saw Charity sneak into Home Farm, just about missing Joe and Dawn heading upstairs together. In the end, she stole the closest laptop, which happened to be Kim’s.

As viewers know, that laptop has countless recordings of Joe. And in tonight’s episode Charity makes a huge discovery. But what was it?

In other scenes tonight, Leyla opens up about how she has been feeling lately.

Throughout the week, Leyla has been desperate for anyone to spend time with her, trying to stop herself from feeling lonely. But as everyone has been busy with their own lives, she has been forced to face reality.

With reports that Roxy Shahidi is leaving the soap, some fans think her exit may line up with the upcoming ice stunt. Especially due to her recent storyline.

Elsewhere with Marlon and Rhona having learnt the truth about April, viewers can expect the fallout from her disappearance to continue.

In last night’s episode (February 4) we got to see the heartbreaking truth about April’s disappearance. The young teen ran away as she was pregnant. And things took a heartbreaking turn when she lost the baby in a gym bathroom.

1. Marlon and Rhona struggle

Tonight, Swirling fills the worried parents in on what has happened to April. And it’s safe to say they are shocked.

Finally knowing the truth about what has happened to his daughter, and where she has been for over a month, how will Marlon cope?

As the couple are overwhelmed and shocked, how will they react to seeing April again?

2. Joe continues to plot in Emmerdale spoilers

The Joe Tate mystery continues. Ever since he returned, we have known something is going on with him – and it looks health related.

And ever since he told Dawn that he was addicted to painkillers, we know there is more to it.

Tonight, he tries to make Noah see that working in Dubai is a completely possible scenario. And it seems to work. Noah gets excited when Joe suggests he can find him a job out there.

But when Charity hears about the news she immediately tries to tell Noah he can’t go. Will he listen? Or is Joe’s plan falling into place?

3. Dawn and Joe are almost caught

Dawn has been keeping Joe at a distance ever since she learned of his ‘painkiller addiction.’ But it seems the pair can’t refuse each other for too long.

Despite being warned by Kim to stay away from her, Joe doesn’t appear to care. So when a heated exchange leads to another kiss between them, they head upstairs.

But what they don’t know is they left just in time to avoid being caught by Charity, sneaking into Home Farm. What is she doing there? And what will she find?

4. Leyla has a plan in Emmerdale spoilers

Fed up of being alone as nobody has any time to spend with her, Leyla comes up with an idea.

She pitches a valentine’s raffle but all she gets is an unenthusiastic response and a refusal of food plans from Suzy and Belle.

The outcome leaves her once again frustrated and hurt at her loneliness.

Inside Emmerdale star Danny Millerâ€™s very personal passion for charity work as annual ball tickets go on sale

Emmerdale cast member Danny Miller has announced that tickets for his annual charity ball have gone on sale.

Danny, best known for playing bad boy Aaron Dingle, has always been outspoken about his love for helping others. And it was this passion that drove him to create his own organisation help.

Currently Aaron is involved in the huge storyline of Anthony’s murder. He has spent the last week thinking he was the one who killed him. But Thursday night’s episode (January 30) shared the shocking revelation that it was actually Ruby – much to fans’ delight.

However, away from the Dales, way back in 2011, Danny co-founded the Manchester based children’s bereavement charity, Once Upon A Smile, alongside friend and actor, Daniel Jillings.

But what exactly is the charity? And what has Danny said about it? Well here’s a look inside the Emmerdale cast member’s passion for charity work.

What is Once Upon A Smile?

The charity provides emotional and practical support to bereaved families. And it was formed after it became apparent that there was a lack of support for families who have lost a loved one.

The inspiration came after Danny lost a close friend and Emmerdale producer, Gavin Blyth. Danny has opened up, revealing that Gavin was the one who “took Aaron down the path of struggling with his sexuality.”

For Danny, he felt like he owed Gavin a lot as he was the one who gave him his “big break” in the industry.

He spoke to What to Watch about the impact it had, saying: “I started the charity because a friend of mine passed away. He left behind a lovely young family. I wanted to know what I could do for more families like the Blyths.”

Danny Miller speaks out on charity work

The former I’m A Celebrity winner revealed that he was “in a hole of grief and disbelief” at Gavin’s funeral. But nothing that he felt compared to how Gavin’s family were feeling.

He said: “I wanted to create something that would counter that. Something that would help families become united again. For them to support each other emotionally and practically after bereavement.”

Danny and Daniel made the decision to do the charity together in aÂ “blood brothers” agreement. And for the Emmerdale star, he “feels pride” when he thinks of all that the charity has achieved.

The annual ball

One thing they knew that would be difficult is raising awareness and money for the charity. So, they created an annual ball. Which seems to have taken off.

Every year, the charity hosts a ball for those who want to help raise money. Earlier in the week Danny, who is now a dad of two, announced the tickets for 2025’s ball have gone on sale.

Anyone can buy a ticket. And every year it’s a sold out event with appearances from faces from TV and music. The night is full of musical acts, a three-course meal and even a red carpet experience.

Other members of the Emmerdale cast have shown up in support for Danny’s charity every year. And this year is expected to be no different.

In last year’s event, The Emmerdale Band even featured as a musical guest for the evening. This included performances from Dominic Brunt (Paddy Kirk), Katie Hill (Sarah Sugden) and Olivia Bromley (Dawn Fletcher). Not just that, but over 20 cast members showed up to support.

Danny spoke to Yahoo about the Emmerdale support last year. He said: “We have a really big presence of Emmerdale at the ball this year. There are over 20 cast members coming. I’m very excited for that. They’ll be a great part of the night.”

The annual ball isn’t the only event that Danny has done in honour of Once Upon A Smile. In 2020, Danny raised Â£30,000 by walking a 40-mile journey from Manchester to Anfield.

At the time, his target was Â£20K, so he achieved more than Â£10K over this. He took to X at the time to share his gratitude.

Danny wrote: “Swollen eyes is my biggest injury. Just cried and cried last night at so many of your beautiful support messages, donations and generosity.”

Fans applaud Ruby for â€˜taking back the powerâ€™ in huge Anthony twist

As Ruby in Emmerdale has been revealed as Anthony’s true killer and not Aaron, fans have applauded her for taking control away from her abusive father.

When Aaron beat Anthony up last week, fans were quick to work out that he wasn’t the one who actually murdered him. But while they believed that, they still were unsure as to who did.

But last night’s episode saw Ruby tell him the truth – that it was her, and Caleb was going to clean it up when he saw Aaron and John had already done so. And fans agree that this outcome is far more fitting than anyone else being the culprit.

Emmerdale Ruby kills Anthony

When Aaron left Anthony in the Depot, he was still alive, just badly beaten. But when he and John came back, he was dead. In another flashback we saw the truth of what happened in that short time between.

Ruby had gone to the Depot, and when she got there she saw Anthony in a bad state. She made the decision to leave him there and let him suffer. But her vile father reached out, grabbing her leg and she snapped.

Ruby no longer saw him as her father. She was able to recognise the monster he was, and knew she had the power to take revenge for the sexual abuse. So, she lifted a rag and suffocated him until he was dead.

The emotional performance yet again from Beth Cordingly has been applauded by fans (Give her the awards!) as they praise Ruby for taking that power back.

Fans applaud ‘fitting end’

Taking to X fans were quick to share their reaction to the revelation. And it was all positive.

One wrote: “So glad it was Ruby that killed him! If it was anybody that had to do it then it had to be her. She got her justice in her own way. Tonight’s episode was amazing, with great performances from Danny and Beth.”

Another penned: “I’m actually glad it was Ruby that killed Anthony after all the abuse he had done to her!”

A third simply praised the actors: “Beth Cordingly as Ruby is the best thing on TV right now.”

“You know what? Good for Ruby. She got the justice she wanted and needed. Glad it was her,” a viewer wrote.

The consensus being that Ruby was a far better choice than anyone else to have killed Anthony. And now that Aaron is in the clear, hopefully he doesn’t continue to spiral.

But with Laurel turning up to the police station, will they be caught just as everything is out in the open?

Emmerdale viewers â€˜work outâ€™ what John did with Anthonyâ€™s body as they notice flashforward detail

The real mystery of who in Emmerdale killed Anthony as his death was finally solved last night (Thursday January 30).

After Aaron spent a few days thinking he was responsible for Anthony’s death, in a not-so-surprising twist, he wasn’t.

Viewers were given yet another flashback to the day of the death. We saw that it was actually Ruby who killed her father – a very fitting end. But when she, Aaron, John and Caleb got together to discuss the next steps, fans couldn’t help but wonder about the body.

Emmerdale flashforward

At the beginning of the year, Emmerdale gave us flash-forwards of certain characters. But we had no idea on how they ended up in that state.

And in one of them, there was a wrapped up body being thrown off a bridge. So when Anthony died and John wrapped his body up, that’s what we assumed would happen. But we never actually saw that.

Which brings up a few questions. Where did John put Anthony’s body? And if that wasn’t the death in the flash-forward, is there another murder looming? Fans have thought John may be the next serial killer…

But now, some think that John’s choice of words have shown them exactly where the body may be.

Taking to a reddit thread, viewers debated whether Anthony was buried – or fed to the pigs.

Emmerdale Anthony death – where is his body?

One wrote: “What has John actually done with Anthony’s body? All I have heard him say is that they don’t need to worry about it?”

A user responded: “Isn’t he meant to be the one pushed in the river?” which someone answered: “We didn’t see that actually happen though.”

Another wrote: “I think the boring answer is he probably buried him in the woods.”

However, others think John had a more sinister plan for Anthony’s body. One that will be much harder to trace back.

“He told Aaron there was nothing left of him to be found. Then said there was no chance of them finding the body. Maybe he put him through Moira’s mincer.”

Another backed this up, adding: “If he was smart, he would have either cut him up to give it to the pigs. Or disintegrate it.”

And John has given the impression that he knows how to cover up a murder. So perhaps there really isn’t a trace of Anthony’s body.

Either way, knowing what actually happened to the vile man, surely he will have to tell someone how he got rid of it?

What time is Emmerdale on tonight? Why you won’t find it at 7.30pm

ITV soaps have has been hit with a change to their usual schedule time on Friday January 31- so what time is Emmerdale on tonight?

By now we all know the usual time slot for Emmerdale is 7.30pm on ITV. But that won’t be when you can watch it tonight.

It’s been a dramatic week in the Dales, and we expect the fallout fromÂ Ruby’s revelation last night will play a key part. So make sure you don’t miss the schedule change – as it will air half an hour earlier.

What time is Emmerdale on tonight?

Emmerdale tonight will now air at 7pm, half an hour earlier. This is because of the Rugby Six Nations.

While the match doesn’t kick off until 8.30pm, coverage begins an hour earlier, kicking Emmerdale out of it’s usual spot.

As it’s the first match of the league, we can expect there may be more Emmerdale schedule changes in the coming weeks. Coronation Street is also affected and that won’t air at all.

Of course the episode is already available to view on ITVX, so viewers can actually watch it whenever they like!

What happens in Emmerdale tonight?

In last night’s episode we saw the truth come out about what actually happened to Anthony.

While up until now viewers were expected to believe Aaron killed him (nobody really believed that, though), it turns out it was actually Ruby.

She found Anthony in the Depot after Aaron had beat him up. And when he tried to touch her, she saw him for the monster he was, and killed him. But when Caleb went to clear the evidence up, he saw John and Aaron had beaten him to it.

So, when Aaron heard this, he, John, Caleb and Ruby all formed a plan on how to keep it quiet. But Laurel had to ruin everything by going to the police station.

We can expect tonight will see the fallout of the reveal, and also of Laurel’s decision.

Elsewhere in Emmerdale tonight, Marlon is still determined to find April. But so far, the search has not been going well at all.

And as there still is no update, Marlon makes the decision to raise the reward for information. But all he really manages to do is cause more concern from Rhona, Mary and Ross.
