Emmerdale killing off Anthony in murder plot was the wrong move – here’s why

Anthony Fox has just been written off in Emmerdale as part of a murder plot – and it looks like Aaron killed him. But, here’s why we think it was the wrong decision.

Last night’s scenes (Thursday, January 23) saw Aaron attack Anthony in the Depot. John then later returned to the site of the crime scene and confirmed that Anthony was dead.

But, as Ruby’s abuser’s life ends, we’re not so happy with the decision to kill him off.

    Anthony Fox’s murder in Emmerdale

Stumbling around the Dales after suffering a blow to the head by Laurel and after having legged it from Caleb (who was threatening him with a gun), Anthony ended up in the Depot.

He was then cornered by Aaron – who was definitely not a friendly face. Aaron knew what Anthony had done to Ruby, being reminded of what his own evil father Gordon did to him when he was younger.

Aaron never felt as though justice had been served after Gordon ended his own life in prison. He then vowed to let Anthony live so that he could go to prison instead of getting the easy way out. And, like Aaron, we would’ve liked to see Anthony end up behind bars too.

But, fair enough, Aaron’s anger got the better of him when Anthony had the nerve to say that both he and Ruby ‘asked’ for their abuse. What an evil thing to say.

Aaron then punched and punched Anthony until he was bleeding out and had lost a tooth. He then scarpered and told John that he might’ve killed Anthony.

John and Aaron then teamed up (our new fave criminal double act) and realised that Anthony was dead. John then wrapped his body up and shoved him in the van, cleaning everything so that nothing would be traced back to Aaron. The things John does for love…

Opinion: Emmerdale shouldn’t have killed of Anthony

Whilst we really wanted to see Ruby’s abusive father Anthony be punished for his horrendous and absolutely sickening treatment of his daughter, we didn’t want it to end this way.

In soap, there seems to be a troubling pattern of abusers meeting their death instead of going through the justice system and ending up in prison. And, it leaves us feeling a tad too uncomfortable.

Knowing that Anthony was finally paying for his crimes behind bars would’ve given Ruby some sense of justice, knowing that he was going to die inside. But instead, Anthony’s dead. And, he died in the Depot.

The thing is… Anthony had almost accepted his death. He had terminal cancer and was going to die really soon anyway. This means that death wouldn’t be a punishment for what he did. It made no difference, other than the fact that he was robbed of a few extra months at best.

But, watching him spend his last few months in prison, and pay to some extent for what he made poor Ruby go through would’ve been the best way to end his story. And, it would’ve portrayed a much greater message, giving victims hope that justice will prevail in the end rather them or their loved ones having to sadly take matters into their own hands.

Near the end of last year, we saw Tom King get sentenced for his abuse of Belle. Ruby deserved similar justice. Sadly, she was robbed of this chance. And, it just doesn’t sit right with us.

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Flash-forwards sealed Anthony’s grisly end and Caleb looked suspicious

Anthony doesn’t have long left as flash-forwards showed his bloody body lying on the floor in the Depot in Emmerdale tonight.

And, a certain someone (cough, cough, Caleb) looked rather suss as he lured Anthony into his car with a gun behind his back.

Here’s what happened in Emmerdale tonight, Monday January 20.

Flash-fowards revealed a grisly death in Emmerdale tonight

Cain and Chas talking at the table at the back of the pub
Chas told Cain all about Anthony’s abuse of Ruby (Credit: ITV)

Chas let Cain in on Ruby’s secret

Chas was clearly struggling tonight after working out who Steph’s biological father actually was last week.

Cain (obviously worried that Chas had rumbled his fling with Ruby) was desperate to understand what was troubling his sister. When he realised the secret was to do with Caleb, he really started to sweat.

Chas then started linking everything back to Aaron’s experience with Gordon, which is what then made Cain add everything up and come to the truth about Ruby, Anthony and Steph.

Nicola and Laurel teamed up to take on Anthony

With Nicola enlisting Anthony to tutor Anthony, she decided to leave them to it whilst she headed to work. But, her shift wasn’t very long at all as after Chas filled her in on Anthony’s true nature, Nicola legged it back home and made sure her daughter was safe.

Sending a really confused Angelica off to her exam early, Nicola then confronted Anthony. When he suggested that Ruby was lying about everything, Nicola pulled out her phone to call her so that she could hear her side of things.

But Anthony soon showed his true colours and wrestled with Nicola to grab her phone. But, as luck and great timing would have it, Laurel was popping into Nicola’s for a cuppa and saw the whole commotion go down.

In true Cluedo style (it was Laurel, in the Kings’ living room, with a candlestick), Laurel whacked Anthony on the head unconscious. But… he got right back up alive and still kicking.

Disorientated, Anthony wandered off into the village with a bit of a bleed at the back of his head, with Nicola and Laurel rushing off back inside the house to conjure up a way they could avoid prison.

Fortunately for them, Anthony explained the gash as being the result of having one too many the night before.

Caleb had a plan for his Father-in-Law

Flash-forwards at the start and end of the episode saw the end of Anthony as Ruby’s abusive father suffered his demise.

A bloody tooth could be seen on the floor of the Depot, with Anthony’s lifeless and bloodied up body being shown at the end of the episode.

And… it doesn’t look too good for Caleb in the grand scheme of things. He’s looking a tad suss (okay, a huge amount of suss.)

With Anthony feeling all sorry for himself on a bench outside, he planned on meeting Steph at the Depot. But, that’s when Caleb pulled up and tried to act like Anthony’s best mate.

How could Anthony possibly refuse the offer of a lift from kind and generous Caleb who had no ulterior motive whatsoever?

How was he to know that Caleb had a gun up his back, ready to get revenge for everything he did to Ruby? Well… it’s unclear whether Caleb finishes Anthony off, but he’s definitely not planning on having a coffee and a chat with him, that’s for sure.

Keeping the peace at Home Farm in Emmerdale tonight

Emmerdale's Joe and Kim talking on a bench at the graveyard

    Kim and Joe remembered Graham

Poor Graham died in 2020 at the hands of Pierce Harris. And now, five years later, on the anniversary of his death, Graham was remembered by both Joe and Kim.

At the graveyard, Kim mourned Will whilst also remembering Graham with Joe. Joe then proved that he was there for Kim, giving her some words of wisdom… but, we still don’t trust him.

“You’re Kim Tate. You’ve got an empire to run.” Wise words. Maybe Kim will finally remember who she is and reclaim her power. She’s got the hat, now where’s the rest?

    Dawn had her doubts

Kim headed back home after chatting with Joe and decided to offer Dawn a job working full-time at Home Farm Estates. Quite the offer considering the terms Kim and Dawn have been on recently.

Dawn was thrilled but then started to suspect that Joe might’ve been behind the whole idea. He’d be her boss… That sounds like a right recipe for disaster!

Joe gave Noah a gift in Emmerdale tonight

With Charity out and only Noah home, Joe turned up and presented him with a gift. His dad’s watch.

It was apparently the only thing Joe had left of his dad, but he was prepared to hand it over to Noah in a bid to get closer to him.  Must’ve been an emotional moment for him.

Noah vowed to wear it all the time but he clearly hasn’t thought that one through. What will Charity make of it when she spots it on his wrist? We can only imagine.

Emmerdale follow-up: Tease points to Caleb being the one to kill Anthony as gun clue explored

In Emmerdale tonight, flash-forwards showed a dead Anthony on the floor… and in real-time we also saw Caleb with a gun, but did he kill him?.

As Caleb lured Anthony into his car, it was clear that he had a sinister plan for Ruby’s abusive father.

But, is it ever really as obvious as it looks in soap? Does Caleb actually pull the trigger of the gun and end Anthony’s life?

Emmerdale tonight: Caleb had a sinister plan for Anthony

This evening in the Dales (Monday, January 20), a flash forward showed a bloody tooth on the floor. Sometime later, another flash forward showed a lifeless Anthony with a tooth missing, surrounded by a pool of blood.

Before all this went down, in the present day, Anthony received a whack on the head by Laurel and a handy candlestick as she walked in on him wrestling Nicola for her phone.

Nicola had realised that he was a danger to children (thanks Chas for the heads up) and rushed back home to stop his tutoring session with Angelica.

After being knocked out, Anthony rose back up like the walking dead and headed out of the door with a cut on the back of his head.

He sat on a bench and assured Leyla (who made a rather random appearance passing by probably so we remember she exists ahead of her upcoming exit) that he was fine. Arranging to meet Steph at the Depot, Anthony turned his head to see Caleb.

Caleb then offered to take Anthony to the Depot in his car, but Anthony felt pressured to accept the lift (Caleb wasn’t asking him, he was telling him).

Anthony was completely oblivious though to the fact that Caleb had a gun tucked away under his jumper…

Emmerdale's Caleb is pointing a gun at Anthony
Anthony’s made to fight for his life (Credit: ITV)

    Does Caleb actually kill Anthony?

So, we’re all wondering… what does Caleb have planned for Anthony? Well, it looks as though he’s out for his blood as spoilers for tomorrow’s episode (Tuesday, January 21) reveal that Caleb forces Anthony to follow him into a secluded barn whilst pointing the gun at him.

Anthony being Anthony of course tries to lie his way out of the situation but Caleb then makes the situation even more terrifying by turning it into a game of Russian Roulette (he’s clearly been watching too much of Squid Game.)

Anthony’s then prompted to tell the truth before Caleb pulls the gun’s trigger…

We know that this week, a gunshot is heard. But, will Caleb kill Anthony? Or, is he just playing a very scary game?

  • I’m a Gen Z Emmerdale fan – 8 things that’ll encourage more soap viewers my age

I’m a Gen Z Emmerdale fan – 8 things that’ll encourage more soap viewers my age

With times ever changing, soaps are trying to constantly modernise themselves to appeal to younger viewers.

As a Gen Z Emmerdale fan myself, I love tuning into the village drama every weekday. But, most of my friends my age have never even watched an episode.

So, with this in mind, here are eight things the soap could do to bring in younger viewers.

Emmerdale Gen Z: Sarah in hospital
There aren’t enough teens and young adults in the village (Credit: ITV)

Emmerdale young viewers: 1. Bring in more young characters

Currently there are a lack of younger characters in the village, and the ones that are in the soap aren’t being focused on as much as they could be.

We have April who has gone missing, and we have Jacob who is busy training to be a medical student. But, more focus could definitely be put on bringing in more teens and young adults and showing them hang out with their mates and having a good time.

We don’t often see young characters hang out with anyone outside of the village either. Focusing on a group of teens for example could help younger viewers relate.

    2. New landmark/ location shoots

For this to happen, the introduction of a new landmark in the village could really help. Introducing a bar or new hangout spot in the village tailored to younger people could act as a foundation for a number of different character and storyline introductions.

Even a village gym could work well, bringing something a bit more modern and ‘cool’ into the village rather than having characters limited to The Hide, the pub or the cafe.

On a similar wavelength, the cast could film on location and head out to Leeds from time to time. Characters often mention that they’re off out to Leeds or Hotten but we never actually see it. This would help younger viewers realise that there’s so much more to Emmerdale than it being a stereotypical ‘farm’ based soap.

Emmerdale young viewers: 3. Interactive episodes

Something that rival soap EastEnders is trialling out next month is an interactive episode. Fans can vote on a storyline’s ending. The choice with the most votes will be the one that the soap pursues on screen.

This creates such a buzz and gets fans involved with the soap. They feel as though they’re actively interacting with the soap. Young people love anything that is hyped up and talked about, so giving them this power will help them tune in to see whether their choice has been chosen!

    4. Social media

Gen Z just loves social media. In the age of technology, we mostly scroll through TikTok before switching over to X and Instagram later in the day, and then again having another TikTok session before bed.

Including hashtags in the corner of episodes linked to storylines e.g. ‘#WhoKilledAnthony?‘ or ‘#Who’sBehindTheIce?’ could really help increase the number of young people talking about the soap online. And then if one person talks about it, their friends will most likely be intrigued.

Kudos must be given to the Emmerdale TikTok team as they’ve started creating fun and engaging videos in recent months which are bound to rake in the likes and reposts. More of this, please!

Emmerdale Gen Z: Hand in ice
Storylines could be more tailored to younger viewers (Credit: ITV)

    5. Storylines

More topic-based storylines that reflect real-life issues and situations of younger viewers could be explored. Again, introducing new landmarks such as a bar or club could spark off these storylines.

More storylines that involve things like social media trolling, online dating, drink spiking etc… could bring in young people who have experienced or feel connected to such topics in some way.

    6. More flashforwards

At the start of the year, Emmerdale aired five flashforwards for scenes that will air at different points throughout the year.

This is something that really (really) appeals to me and other people my age, because as a generation we have serious FOMO. The thought of not having watched something that everyone has been talking about scares us (stupidly) and we feel like we must keep on top of the trends.

Flashfowards help keep people interested in storylines for a long time, again creating so much hype. And, we love the hype, we really do.

The police had nothing on Kim (Credit: ITV)
Cutting episodes down would make it easier to catch up (Credit: ITV)

    7. Cut episodes down

We’re a generation of binge-watchers meaning that we also like to watch shorter episodes that we can keep on top of rather than  feeling like we are behind what everyone else is talking about.

It can be hard to stay up to date with a soap as if you miss one episode, the chances are you’ll have missed a few more before you even find the time to catch up. And by then, you feel like you’ve missed too much to get back on track.

But, if the number of weekly episodes were cut down to three or four half an hour episodes, it would be more manageable for younger viewers to keep up to date and catch up whilst fitting the show around their busy schedules.

Emmerdale young viewers: 8. Celeb cameos

Having a celebrity that is popular with Gen Z enter the village for a one off episode could help attract new viewers. They might tune in for that episode and end up sticking around for many episodes after.

In 2023, Emmerdale involved Torvill and Dean in their Christmas Belle and Tom proposal episode. Something like this but with someone from a Reality TV show such as the Traitors or a popular TikTok star could work really well. We can just imagine GK Barry turning up in the Woolpack and having a pint with Steph Miligan.

  • Wendy Posner’s deep history of lies and deceit explored as her world begins to unravel

Wendy Posner’s deep history of lies and deceit explored as her world begins to unravel

Wendy Posner has a not so innocent past that is built upon lies, corruption and deceit in Emmerdale. And now, she’s facing fresh drama. Surprise, surprise. With all of the skeletons in Wendy’s closet, we thought Wendy would have more sympathy for the other villagers wanting their secrets to stay buried. But, judging by her betrayal of Rhona to the Hotten Courier, we think not.

With her ‘colourful past’ being dragged back up, we’ve taken a look at exactly what makes her son dodgy.

Wendy Posner in Emmerdale: Covering for her rapist son Lee

Nurse Wendy arrived in the village in 2019 after Victoria fell pregnant with her rapist – Lee Posner’s – baby. Wendy failed to believe that Lee had done anything wrong, desperate to be a part of her grandchild’s life.

Victoria’s brother Robert Sugden ending up attacking Lee for his sexual assault on Victoria and ultimately ended up killing him.

Wendy then ended up moving into the village in 2020 after Lee’s death, vowing to make Victoria pay. However, she later confessed after little Harry’s birth (better late than never?) that she knew that Lee had raped Victoria all along.

Despite the nightmare Wendy put her through, Victoria was able to forgive her (most likely due to the fact she was now dating her other son, Luke.) And now, Wendy, Victoria and Harry all get on as it stands.

    Emmerdale: Fake nurse Wendy

Wendy has been referenced by fans as ‘Fake Nurse Wendy’ for a long time and it’s because we’ve never been sure whether she actually got her nursing qualifications or not.

We’ve known for some time that Wendy had initially lied about getting her qualifications to bag herself a job, but it now seems that she never did right this wrong. Rookie error, no?

The journalist tonight brought up the fact that Wendy had failed to disclose criminal convictions meaning that her qualification doesn’t actually legally mean anything. It’s unclear what her previous criminal past involves… But, nothing would surprise us when it comes to Wendy.

    Emmerdale's Russ with a gun

    Difficult history with Russ

Wendy’s ex-husband, Russ, arrived in the village in 2021 and wanted to claim back what he thought was rightfully his.

Wendy’s doesn’t half pick them, doesn’t she? Because, it turned out that Russ was a wrongun. Finding out that his late mother had left Harry £50,000 inheritance, Russ arrived to take it back for himself.

He actually went as far as holding Wendy, David and Victoria hostage in The Hide at gunpoint, but fortunately they escaped and lived to tell the tale.

    Affair with Liam

Icky. That’s the word we’d use to describe Wendy’s affair with Dr Liam Cavanagh. One of the worst pairings in soap history.

Wendy cheated on partner Bob in 2023 (poor Bob) after she started bonding with her colleague Liam over a murder mystery novel. They then started dressing up as murder mystery characters which turned into a rather weird bit of role play.

Once everything eventually came out in the open, the pair called it a day. And, this was the best decision they could’ve made – for our sake.

Dishing the dirt out on Rhona

In a new storyline for Wendy, she has now been revealed to have exposed Rhona’s past history to a journalist from the Hotten Courier.

And, she’s now being blackmailed for more information in exchange for the journalist keeping quiet about her own past history. But, as Wendy’s world unravels, how far will she go to protect herself? And, will Rhona be the only person who she throws under the bus? We think not.

  • Viewers slam Jacob’s awful treatment of women in echoes of dad David’s behaviour

Viewers slam Jacob’s awful treatment of women in echoes of dad David’s behaviour

Emmerdale viewers have torn strips into Jacob Gallagher after comparing him to dad David when it comes to women.

Jacob’s recently been dating (or attempting to) date Sarah Sugden but his eye wandered elsewhere last night (Monday, January 6).

Now, fans are comparing his behaviour to David, and to be fair… they have a point.

Emmerdale's Jacob and Sian standing awkwardly outside

Emmerdale: Jacob ditched Sarah for Sian

Recently in the Emmerdale village, Jacob and Sarah have been enjoying some flirty moments. They tried to arrange a date but Jacob ended up standing Sarah up for his mum (talk about awkward!)

After rescheduling, Jacob ended up working in A&E on the day Sarah happened to get drunk and be admitted as a patient.

Sarah had felt the need to drink after Jacob had failed to give her the attention she was looking for. Jacob then realised that he needed to put his studies before dating.

Well, that idea didn’t last long as last night Leyla caught him with a fellow med student called Sian. It turned out he’d spent the night with her… and this information didn’t go unnoticed by Sarah either. Oh Jacob. Do you not have any slight bit of conscience?

Emmerdale's Jacob talking to David miserably
Is there a comparison to be made? (Credit: ITV)

Fans blast Jacob for mistreatment of women in David comparison

With Jacob not being the slightest bit considerate to Sarah’s feelings, fans have now compared his awful treatment of women to that of his dad, David. We’re not sure Jacob would be too happy about this one considering the circumstances surrounding David’s departure.

David never had the best track record with women. He dated a fair few of them but never really treated them well enough for them to stick around long term. And, now, it looks like his son could be following in his footsteps.

One disgusted fan wrote: “Ah Jacob has his dad’s way with women, here meaning he treats them terribly. Poor Sarah. But seemingly a good thing for Jacob as his sexual partner is neither awful nor with his dad for once.”

Another person commented: “I’m shocked at his behaviour. I really didn’t think he was like that. Poor Sarah. Leyla thinking what he did is okay is just as bad. When she thought he was dating Sarah she told him his studies should come first but when he’s with a fellow trainee doctor it’s okay. Talk about looking down on Sarah.”

A third person wondered: “So will Jacob be working his way through the hospital staff with one night stands?”

Jacob’s definitely picked up a few tips (or lack of tips) from David we reckon. Although, he did date his dad’s ex at one point, so that shouldn’t surprise us!

  • 4 convincing theories looking at what’s wrong with Joe Tate on Emmerdale – Transplant to brain tumour like his dad

4 convincing theories looking at what’s wrong with Joe Tate on Emmerdale – Transplant to brain tumour like his dad

Something is clearly wrong with Joe Tate in Emmerdale as he’s been seen popping pills after struggling, but what is it?

He’s come back to the village a new man, same face but different personality it seems. He’s actually being nice to Kim, which is somewhat concerning…

But, has he really gained some morals? Perhaps ill health has made him see the light at long last. As we ponder that possibility, here are four huge theories as to what could be up with Joe.

    Joe's promo pic
Is he looking for a donor? (Credit: ITV)

    1. Transplant

Joe doesn’t look to be very well, clearly taken some sort of medication for a reason. One theory is that he’s got an illness like leukaemia and has returned to the village in the hope of finding a transplant donor.

Noting that Joe has recently been in touch with Jamie, one fan reckoned that Jamie wasn’t a match so now he’s working his way round the family in the hopes of finding someone to save him.

One fan wrote: “Joe suddenly getting in touch with Jamie was to get him tested and obviously he wasn’t a match. Jamie left Emmerdale before Caleb came and Jamie talks to no one in the village but Joe knew of Caleb’s existence. He mentioned him to Charity. He has done his research. Caleb (and Noah) could be a potential match.

“I think it’ll be Caleb (not Noah).”

Another fan added: “That’s my guess – leukaemia, he’s had some chemotherapy, but now needs a bone marrow transplant. So he’s looking for a close relative who could be a match.”

    Joe Tate serious
Could something really serious be the matter? (Credit: ITV)

Emmerdale Joe Tate 2. Brain Tumour

Another theory is that Joe could have a brain tumour and actually be dying. He might therefore be back in the village to make amends with Kim before he passes.

This would mean that Joe would have the same illness that his father Chris Tate had.

Before his original exit, one fan reckoned that Joe could have a brain tumour.

“Joe Tate is so delusional, wonder whether he’s got a brain tumour like his dad Chris had?”

If he kept this a secret all this time but his condition had gotten progressively worse, has he felt forced back into the village now that he’s received a worrying prognosis perhaps?

    Emmerdale's Joe serious
Is he hiding something troubling? (Credit: ITV)

Emmerdale Joe Tate 3. Heart defect

We all know that Frank Tate died of a heart attack. It is possible that Joe also has a problem with his heart, which would make sense as to why he recognised the signs of Will’s heart attack.

He was also seen taking medication in some obvious pain, which could be linked to the heart. This may be why Joe felt the need to help Will, as he also runs the risk of having a heart attack himself due to a defect. Unless, something else is wrong with Joe?…

    Joe serious
Has Joe been driven to addiction? (Credit: ITV)

    4. Addiction

Perhaps, when Joe was seen taking medication it was actually down to an addiction he’s developed. Before Joe left the Dales previously, he’d suffered a right attack by Cain which was so bad that Cain had presumed that he’d died.

Could he now be taking medication to manage that initial pain from his run-in with Cain all those years ago?

Just what is wrong with Joe?

Wild fan theory predicts that body bag flashforward victim is actually a horse

With Emmerdale airing multiple flashforward scenes this New Year, one theory reckons a horse may end up dead.

Five flashforwards were shown as the villagers saw in 2025, with one showing a body bag being disposed of in the river.

But, what if a human body isn’t actually in that bag? Wild, right? Well one theory reckons there could be another explanation for the whole thing.

New Year Emmerdale flashforward shows body bag being disposed of

This New Year, the villagers celebrated the clock turning to midnight as they saw in the New Year together.

However, five flashbacks for 2025 then revealed that not everybody would be having the ‘Happy New Year’ they were toasting to.

One flashback saw Mack running away from something, another saw Cain standing over a grave. Another flashback saw Caleb lying in hospital, whilst a fourth one saw someone trapped under some ice. Brutal.

But, one of the flashbacks has now conjured up a new theory. It saw a body bag be disposed of in a river – but it was unclear who was in the bag or who was disposing of it…

Emmerdale fan theory: Horse killed and dumped in body bag?

What if a horse is actually in the body bag instead of a human? A rather bizarre theory has suggested just that. Although we’re unsure why someone would go to the extreme length of covering up a dead horse’s body…

On Reddit, a fan of the soap wrote: “What if it’s not a body at all and we made to think it’s a body. Could it be something else like a horse or some other incriminating evidence? Like it’s a red herring that it’s a body?”

Whilst this all seems really wild and extreme, we’re not ruling it out. We’ve seen one of Kim’s horses get revealed as a killer (Ice, you’ll always be famous) in a shock whodunnit twist we couldn’t have predicted. So, a horse in a body bag could well come into fruition… Or, perhaps not. But, just who is in that body bag?

The sad passing of The Vivienne

James Lee Williams aka The Vivienne sadly died over the weekend, with the star’s agent confirming the tragic news on social media, leaving many people shocked and saddened.

The 32 year old was the first winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK in 2019, with many falling in love with the Drag Queen for their hilarious impression of Donald Trump.

After such huge success the tv personality went on to appear on the television skating competition, Dancing on Ice in 2023. They ended up finishing in third place. A huge achievement to be proud of.

@simonjonespr put out a statement yesterday evening (Sunday, January 5) to share the tragic news.

    The Vivienne’s history-making Emmerdale appearance

In 2021, Emmerdale aired their first ever Pride celebrations in the village.

During Pride month, the village church came together with the rest of the community. They then put on the village’s first Pride event. Andrea Tate organised the Pride festival and booked a special guest to attend. This was The Vivienne.

After Ethan’s introductory speech, The Vivienne took to the stage. They then officially kicked off the Emmerdale Pride events.

Before these scenes aired, The Vivienne had also unknowingly contributed to another one of the soap’s historical moments as they ‘played a part’ in Mandy Dingle’s wedding to Paul Ashdale.

Mandy’s leopard print wedding dress took inspiration from one of The Vivienne’s. So, it turns out, The Vivienne made more than one mark on the show that year.

The nation will greatly miss The Vivienne, with their Emmerdale cameo contributing to a huge legacy left by the star.

  • Pregnancy theory as Anthony ‘targets next victim’

Pregnancy theory as Anthony ‘targets next victim’

A new pregnancy fan theory has been suggested for Emmerdale character Steph Miligan at the hands of Anthony Fox as he eyes up her as a ‘victim.’

Recently, we all gasped as a flashback to Ruby’s 16th birthday revealed that her father Anthony had abused her.

And, now a new sickening twist has been predicted that could see history repeats itself but this time with Ruby’s daughter. How awful.

Emmerdale fan theory: Anthony to get Steph pregnant as he eyes up next victim?

Ruby’s not got a great relationship with her dad Anthony but decided to try and fake building bridges for the sake of her daughter Steph. However, a flashback to Ruby’s 16th birthday revealed all about why she holds such hatred towards him.

In an utterly hard-to-watch twist, it was revealed that Anthony had sexually abused his own daughter, Ruby. Evil, evil man.

Now, he’s managed to find out about Ruby’s fling with Cain after putting pressure on her to spill the beans. And, now Ruby’s worried that he’ll use it against her.

With Anthony showing exactly what he’s capable of, a new fan theory fears that he could soon sexually abuse granddaughter Steph.

After witnessing Ruby push Anthony away from Steph when he was putting a necklace on her, the fan theory suggests that Steph may end up pregnant with her grandfather’s child.

The theory reads: “Knowing Emmerdale, I bet Stephanie becomes pregnant with Anthony the father.”

Are there more secrets to come for Anthony?

Ruby is keeping Anthony’s abuse a secret from her family as it stands. But, it looks like Anthony has a few secrets buried and ready to creep out.

As Ruby’s hatred towards her father becomes more and more obvious, it won’t be long before skeletons come out and the Fox-Miligans’ world implodes. But, just what else is Anthony hiding? And, what will this mean for Ruby and her family?
