What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Moira found vital evidence against Tom – but then she forgot about it

Emmerdale tonight saw Moira see Tom’s secret video footage of Belle. It’s just the evidence Belle needs, but a seizure made Moira forget everything. So what does this mean for Belle’s case?

And as Tom continues to build up a false picture of himself, will he get to the tablet first and destroy the evidence?

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale on Thursday October 3.

    Tom under pressure

Tom was released and Jimmy was excited to see him like a puppy. Tom’s injury is absolute agony, but he can apparently still sit in a chair and lean back.

Things weren’t looking too bad for Tom, annoyingly. He was pretty smug that he’d managed to trick the police and they don’t seem to know about his tablet. Meanwhile, Amelia was once again fawning over him, and a stand-off in the street between Jimmy and Amelia and Vinny saw the police step in. Gotta love DS Foy!

Meanwhile, Belle was feeling guilty about what she did to Tom. It was only made worse when DS Foy then turned up and told her they couldn’t find any cameras to prove it. It’s obvious Foy believes Belle, but his hands are tied.

Belle was terrified – she knows Tom won’t stop until he kills her. And she knows the evidence is stacked against her. But then she mentioned his tablet and the police admitted they didn’t have Tom’s tablet in their possession.

Tom tried to play dumb and claimed he lost the tablet months ago. DS Foy didn’t buy it for a second and assured him they would find it. Please, please, please be right!

Jimmy was then shocked to learn Tom had been secretly filming Belle. The scales may be starting to fall… Tom managed to persuade Jimmy it was all in Belle’s best interests and he was keeping her safe. Of course, stupid Jimmy bought it.

Amelia was still fussing round Tom, who snapped at her. Tom’s solicitor Ollie arrived and told him to stop acting so guilty. He advised Tom to make sure they didn’t find the tablet and to keep Amelia sweet so it discredited Belle’s abuse claims. He told Tom to find the tablet or he’s “done for”.

Moira found evidence – and then forgot it!

Step forward Moira! Carl had the device in question to play Zombie computer games, but little Isaac nicked it off him! And then Moira got her hands on it… Moira looked through the files, realising it was Tom’s tablet.

And, yes! Moira saw video footage that Tom had filmed of Belle at home. Thank goodness…

Desperate to get the tablet into the right hands, Moira left a message for Belle telling her she needed to see this as ‘it’s even worse than you imagined’. Then deciding this was more important than her brain tumour problem, Moira grabbed the car keys and drove to see Belle instead.

Soon though, she was struggling to drive, had got lost and had forgotten her phone. The stress and the pressure and the brain tumour all worked against her. She parked up, got out and wandered off down a bridleway. It wasn’t long before she collapsed, having another seizure.

Mack eventually found her and brought her round – and she didn’t remember anything. Most importantly (and infuriatingly), she didn’t recognise the tablet, she didn’t remember leaving Belle messages and all the evidence is lost.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO! What is Emmerdale doing to us?

Liam lies to Ella in Emmerdale
Liam lied to Ella about his whereabouts, which suggests he’s not that into her (Credit: ITV)

The Liam/Ella/Chas love triangle resumed in Emmerdale tonight

Liam is still lying to Ella about going to a seminar when actually he’s going to a murder mystery event. As he got dressed in his outfit, Ella caught him and Liam eventually confessed where he was going, stressing the emphasis on murder several times.

She took it well and told him she didn’t mind, so off he went to have his fun. But we suspect she probably would mind when she finds out about his dalliance with Chas later on…

He popped into the Woolpack to steady his nerves before the event. As he and Chas joked, she went a bit quiet and confessed she had a rash near her breast. She was worried it was the cancer coming back and Liam took a look at it. He diagnosed an allergy rash and Chas was relieved, throwing her arms around him.

When is Emmerdale going to just get these two together and stop all the lingering looks and tooing and froing? It’s clear they want to be, so why is he messing around with Ella? It’s not creating tension or a love triangle, it’s just getting us all frustrated!

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

    Arthur made us all cringe

Teen rebel Arthur is ‘too old’ for school and wanted to hang out around the village to flirt with John Sugden. Arthur thinks Aaron’s miserable and John could do better.

But his attempts to flirt didn’t go too well, though John did smile, which made Arthur think he was in. Arthur pestered him again later and John dismissed him, but said he’d chat to him tomorrow. Arthur definitely thinks he’s got a chance and it was all really cringeworthy.

Laurel and Charles made Arthur cringe

But next it was Arthur’s turn to cringe when he caught his mum ‘at it’. Charles still wanted Laurel to help with the Harvest Festival and not taking no for an answer he followed Laurel home to ask her to stop avoiding him.

But the bickering and back and forth got them hot and bothered again and they couldn’t resist. However, just as they descended the stairs and started snogging again, Arthur caught them at it. “It’s like sandpaper on my brain,” he cried. But promised not to tell anyone.

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Tom was arrested and his lies might just be catching up with him!

In Emmerdale tonight Tom was taken to the station and charged for coercive and controlling behaviour. Hallelujah!

As he lied and lied and lied some more the police are digging to get to the bottom of the truth – and we are keeping everything crossed they soon find it and Belle gets justice. Please, Emmerdale, please!

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight.

Tom’s downfall began in Emmerdale tonight

Belle reported Tom - and herself - to the police last night (Credit: ITV)

    The police took Tom in

Tom was just about to leave hospital when he was then taken to the station by the police after being arrested for coercive and controlling behaviour! Woo hoo!

He immediately tried to change his statement saying he’d lied about being mugged and it was Belle – let’s just hope that makes things even worse for the little weasel. His face was a picture when he was informed Belle had admitted the attack and handed in the weapon. Oh yes, we are loving this!

Tom then went down his usual road of blaming her mental health and irrational behaviour. He claimed she was angry and called him names – useless and ugly (we’d have called him worse, tbh). He also claimed she got physical with him, throwing things, pushing him around and assaulting him in the street. The gall of this man is something else. Tom honestly believes he is going to get away with this. Bravo James Chase for creating the most unlikable man on television.

Tom doubled-down on his lies when asked whether he was lying. However he was forced to admit he installed a camera, although he insisted it was to keep her safe. DS Foy wanted to know if he’d kept the footage to prove his claims of domestic abuse. The police are also seizing all of Tom’s electrical equipment and we are praying that he hasn’t deleted everything and is caught out.

Back in the village Jimmy had finally worked out what was going on and laid into Belle telling her her lies wouldn’t work. Losing his temper, Nicola advised him to use her camomile bubble bath to calm down. That’ll fix everything, right?

    Tom slipped up

Back in the interview room, Tom was having a conflab with his solicitor and admitted there was footage. He denied it was abusive and slipped up confessing there was more than one camera. He told his solicitor the footage was on a tablet in a zombie case – which was at that moment being used by his cousin Carl at home.

So the police haven’t yet got the tablet and we know Tom gets his hands on it next week. But is there enough evidence against him to convict him?

At last he’s on the ropes. Has he been too slick in his lies to be believed? Is it time for Tom to be taken down? We really, really, really hope so.

Moira killed some sheep in Emmerdale tonight

After being exonerated yesterday over the sheep escape, Moira was insistent she is fit to work alone. But then the sheep all collapsed. They had ingested paint, that Moira put into their feeding trough by mistake.

Mack was not best pleased – and not at all kind to his sister. She told him she’d killed her son’s sheep and she needed to apologise to him. He also told her she wasn’t allowed to work any more. On her farm. That she owns. Best interests or not, he might want to remember he’s just an employee here.

Devastated Moira broke down insisting the tumour was taking everything away from her. Mack did apologise (big of him) for his tone, but said he was worried about her. She sobbed in his arms as she agreed to stop work.

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Aaron Dingle decides to use John Sugden's van to stash his stolen goods
    Whoops, Aaron! (Credit: ITV)

    Aaron outsmarted by John

Aaron was loading the smart watches into John’s van having swiped the keys after John said no. Aaron insisted it was all good as John was working all day. Cut to Liam and John discussing how John had an afternoon off. Can we all see where this is going?

Yep, John caught him out and read him the riot act. But a quick bunk up in the back of the van was good enough for an apology and all was well again.

    Liam and Ella back together

Turns out they are sleeping together. Casually. But Ella wants to be exclusive again and she misses Liam. He agreed to give it a go. He seems to have very quickly got over her child-killer past. But then he turned down her offer of lunch at Bun-in-a-Million to eat an onion ring the size of his head. It’s an offer that’s hard to refuse, but Liam did. Sounds amazing to us!

Apparently it was because he was going to a murder mystery event and didn’t think Ella would be up for it due to her murderous past. He hasn’t quite forgotten it then.

  • Belle double-crossed Tom and took her power back – everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight

Belle double-crossed Tom and took her power back – everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight

Emmerdale tonight saw Belle Dingle stop letting everyone else control her life and take charge of it herself – at last. She finally did the right thing and told the police everything – right about the same time as he was fabricating a story about being robbed. Let’s hope the beginning of the end is on the way.

Here’s everything that went down in Emmerdale tonight, Tuesday October 1.

Belle stood by Tom's hospital bedside as he manipulated her further (Credit: ITV)
Belle stood by Tom’s hospital bedside as he manipulated her further (Credit: ITV)

    Belle took control

Quite rightly Belle was beside herself with all the lies and now the Dingles are planning for her to run off to Ireland. She did not want to go, but Lydia taking over everything saw Belle eventually agree. We really can’t understand how Lydia thinks this is for the best, but still.

Belle then snuck off under the pretence she was going to borrow a suitcase off Mandy. Soon enough, though, she arrived at Tom’s hospital bedside with one minute to spare before his deadline. He wanted to make a deal.

As he manipulated her and tried to gaslight her, he told her he wouldn’t tell the police if she stopped ‘lying’ he was an abuser. Belle stood up to him and insisted it was self-defence. He continued to manipulate, saying his story was the one that would hold up in court.

Employing his usual tactics, focusing on her mental health, Belle found herself agreeing. But then he insisted on a kiss ‘to seal the deal’. Having him touch her seemed to be too much.

Later, Tom actually stuck to his side of the bargain and recounted his lies to the police that he was attacked by two men who were trying to rob him. He described them in great detail as the police took notes and Jimmy listened in horror to his tall tale. Tom even insisted despite her fragile state there was no way Belle would ever have stuck an axe in his back – big mistake. Huge.

But it turned out Belle had double-crossed him – right at that moment, she was at the police station, taking her power back. Having dug up the axe, Belle told the desk sergeant she was the victim of domestic abuse and attacked her husband in self-defence.

Hopefully her tricking Tom into telling the cops his lies will help her case. Either way, this is finally the right move for Belle after the storyline took a somewhat questionable turn, and we can only pray the soap gods (or the producers!) see fit to give us the correct outcome.

Mack accuses Moira of letting the sheep out at Butlers in Emmerdale

Moira didn’t let the sheep out in Emmerdale tonight

Fed-up with being mollycoddled, Moira was not happy when Ruby was called round to ‘babysit’ her. But Ruby, in typical Ruby fashion, just barged in and started finding her way around the kitchen. It’s clear a bond is growing between these two and we like it. Ruby even almost opened up about missing her mum, but then decided not to.

However, Mack soon ruined things when he came running in and said the sheep had escaped – the sheep Moira had newly bought as pets for Isaac on an impulse. He sat Moira down and tried to explain to her she needed to stop fighting him on everything. He told her she couldn’t work alone and she got emotional, but agreed to try to stay away from the farming.

It then turned out Isaac had left the gate open and Mack was forced to apologise. But something tells us he’s not wrong about her working alone…

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Nicola gets the truth out of Laurel about her fling with Charles
Nicola got the truth out of Laurel about her fling with Charles (Credit: ITV)

Charles wants Laurel, Laurel wants Charles, but neither will admit it

After agreeing their sex session was just a one-off, Laurel decided to quit the church committee. Charles was a bit upset and tried tried to find out what’s going on in Laurel’s head by probing Nicola. Not the best idea as Nicola’s about as unsubtle as a brick. She soon twigged something had happened between them and rushed round to see her mate for all the gossip.

After Nicola tricked Laurel into telling her the truth, Laurel opened up and admitted she’d slept with the vicar. But then Charles came round and the situation was pretty awkward. Nicola got the hint and left quick smart.

As Laurel and Charles bickered again, Charles let slip he finds her irresistible. She tried to be responsible and insist it was over, but it was clear it isn’t what either of them wanted. What do they want? We’re not entirely sure, but chances are it’s a bit more afternoon delight.

    Aaron rejected John

Needing to get rid of his stolen smart watches quick, er, smart, Aaron needed a vehicle. He asked Mack, who told him to ask John. But John wasn’t playing ball and wouldn’t lend Aaron his van.

After John’s lacklustre secret reveal last week and now this, if Aaron stealing smart watches is the best they can give Danny Miller and Oliver Farnworth to do, split these two up now and spare us any more hours of this mundane guff.

Tom woke up as Belle worried about her future – here’s what happened in Emmerdale tonight

Emmerdale tonight saw Tom wake up in hospital. Will he tell the police who was responsible for putting him there?

Meanwhile, Moira’s behaviour continued to worry her family and Aaron was questioned by the police over some stolen watches.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight, Monday, September 30.

    Emmerdale tonight: Tom woke up

Amelia and Jimmy continued to share one brain cell as they waited for news on Tom at the hospital. A doctor soon put them out of their misery when she informed them that Tom was improving.

With police waiting to talk to Tom, Amelia decided to get her side of things across and informed them that it was Belle. Jimmy suggested it could have been Cain, but Amelia quashed that idea and told him Cain was definitely in Scotland.

“I’m Amelia, his girlfriend, which Belle was really jealous about,” Amelia told the police – with a straight face no less.

Amelia told the police that Belle wanted to punish Tom, with Jimmy adding: “It doesn’t take a genius to work out what happened.” Clearly.

Later, once Tom was awake, Jimmy asked Tom if it was Belle. But Tom didn’t respond. When questioned by the police, Tom claimed that he couldn’t remember what happened. “It’s blank,” he said. But he said he thinks he was meeting someone.

Idiot Jimmy continued to throw Belle’s name around and told Tom not to cover for her.

Once Jimmy had left, it was revealed Tom did in fact remember what happened. He called Belle and ordered her to visit him by 1pm tomorrow. He warned her not to tell anyone or he would tell the police everything.

Will Belle ever be rid of Tom?

    Charity covered for Belle

Sam, Lydia and Charity continued to worry about Belle. When Lydia told Belle that Tom was out of danger, Belle said she might as well hand herself in.

However, Charity pointed at herself and said: “You have an alibi now.”

When police questioned Belle, Charity claimed her and Belle had been on a long walk at the time of the attack.

The police asked Belle about her relationship with Tom and she simply responded: “He was difficult to live with.” Which must be a contender for understatement of the century.

The Dingles aren’t the brightest bunch and didn’t quite get their story straight, with Lydia and Charity contradicting each other. After Lydia said they were all fond of Tom, Charity said the police could take their pick of potential suspects because ‘he’s not very popular.’

Will that slip up come back to bite them?

    Moira’s family continued to worry

Moira was annoyed when Matty arrived with his bags and told her he was staying for a while. She claimed she didn’t need a babysitter, but Matty lied that he was only there because he was sick of Amy and Amelia’s drama.

When Mack came in to check on her under the guise that he needed a drink, Moira continued to insist she was fine and didn’t need to be checked up on.

She then promised her young son Isaac that he could have his own sheep. Mack told her it wasn’t a good idea, but she forged ahead with the plan.

In an ominous moment, Isaac asked his mum: “And you won’t kill them?” She promised him that no she wouldn’t… oh dear.

Later, Matty and Mack discovered Moira had left the house alone and immediately went searching for her. Mack found her returning from the farm up the road where she’d placed an order for Isaac’s sheep.

Moira told Mack to stop treating her like a child and then told Matty to pack his bags and go home because she was fine. But is she really?

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

    Police questioned Aaron

Aaron and John continued to flirt – their own form of flirting anyway. John gave us all a bit too much information when he told Aaron: “I can’t promise you a good night sleep.” Thanks, John.

Later, John watched on as a policeman approached Aaron. He asked him if he knew about any stolen watches as his car had been seen near the scene of the crime.

A clearly guilty Aaron denied all knowledge and happily showed the policeman the boot of his car, which was empty bar a couple of tools. Where has he hidden them?

  • Review of the week: Belle ‘kills’ Tom, Amelia annoys everyone and we can’t even talk about Laurel

Review of the week: Belle ‘kills’ Tom, Amelia annoys everyone and we can’t even talk about Laurel

Our Emmerdale review this week is all about one thing – the dramatic confrontation between Tom and Belle.

Because oh my goodness, we’re still waiting for our heart rates to return to normal after all that tension.

Here’s what we thought in this week’s Emmerdale review.

Tom and Amelia cuddle in Emmerdale village
Amelia’s been taken in by Tom (Credit: ITV)

    Amelia’s annoying

We get it. Amelia’s a troubled teen mum, who’s lacking a father figure, and Tom’s handsome and charming. But URGH. She’s being a total brat. The way she’s been speaking to Chas and to Kerry and Amy is not acceptable. And we understand that she’s a victim of Tom’s manipulation, too, but come on – open your eyes, Amelia. And apologise to Chas while you’re at it.

Tom smashes the door with an axe as Belle screams
The tension was high as Tom tracked Belle down (Credit: ITV)

Ramping up the tension in our Emmerdale review

Remember waaaaaay back in the Woolpack siege? Chas and Debbie were in the flooded pub cellar, with murderer Cameron Murray hunting them. The lights were flickering on and off and giving us an occasional glimpse of Cameron getting closer. It was like a horror film. We abso-blooming -lutely LOVED it!

And we were reminded of those tense scenes this week as Tom trailed his axe up the stone steps to find Belle. Obviously when he started smashing through the door it wasn’t just like any old horror film, it was like the iconic scene in The Shining when Jack Nicholson does the same. And it was just as frightening as a furious Tom got the better of poor Belle.

We were holding our breath as Belle pointed the gun at him, only to realise the safety was on. And when Tom made out he was going to shoot her, we shrieked just as much as Belle did (more, probably).

Tom locks Belle in the cottage
Eden and James deserve all the awards (Credit: ITV)

    The brilliance of Eden Taylor-Draper

Belle’s terror was so tangible and real that we’re calling it right now – actress Eden Taylor Draper should win every award going for her portrayal of frightened Belle. James Chase deserves awards too for playing volatile, dangerous Tom. They’ve both been amazing throughout this whole storyline.

Lydia’s transformation into a master criminal

Lydia refusing to call the police or an ambulance and planning to dispose of Tom’s body was unexpected to say the least. But we are here for it.

We can see her as the crime boss running the Dingle family. Like if Don Corleone from The Godfather had been a woman, from Yorkshire, in a tabard. Perfection.

The aftermath in our Emmerdale review

We didn’t want Tom to die, of course. We wanted him to face justice for what he did to Belle. But now he’s not dead, we sort of wish he had kicked the bucket. Because there is NO way he’s going to let Belle get away with this and there’s bound to be all sorts of repercussions for poor Ms Dingle. We’re not sure we can handle it!

And can we just say what luck that that the first person Tom came upon as he made his bid for freedom was Liam. Dr. Liam. What are the chances, eh?

Kim and Will are better together in Emmerdale
Kim and Will are better together (Credit: ITV)

    Will v Kim

Of course we were mostly focused on Tom and Belle this week but there were other stories happening. Will and Kim’s marriage seems to be well and truly over.

We hate Will and Kim fighting and we wish he’d never slept with stupid Rose. They were much better together than they are apart with their petty squabbles. BUT we quite enjoyed the glimpse of Kim’s financial adviser who spent the night – he’s definitely giving us Graham vibes!

    Get over yourself, Dawn

Yep, we still hate Dawn and we’re still not sure why Dawn hates Will. YOU KILLED A MAN, DAWN! And Will covered it up for you. And then Kim covered it up for Will. Can’t you all just get along?!

    Charles and Laurel

No. That’s all we can say about that. Just no.

  • Tom’s fate was revealed as the Dingles botched the cover-up – everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight

Tom’s fate was revealed as the Dingles botched the cover-up – everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight

Emmerdale tonight revealed Tom was still alive after being stabbed with an axe by Belle. But as the Dingles worked to make sure Belle wasn’t blamed, their faffing about may have just led to her downfall. Where’s Cain when you need him, eh?

Meanwhile, Amy continued to stick her nose in and Amelia continued to whinge. Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight.

Lydia Dingle supports Belle Dingle in Emmerdale
Belle is being protected by Lydia (Credit: ITV)

    The Dingles started a cover-up

Shellshocked Belle ran back to the house where Lydia, Sam and Vinny arrived. She recounted what had happened, Vinny checked the body and said Tom was definitely dead.

As the family argued what to do, Lydia took charge and insisted they didn’t call the police or any authorities, they just needed to get the body off their land. It was very out of character for Lydia who held an entire Dingle court when she thought one of them had killed her rapist Craig and even left Sam for a while, believing he was responsible. Apparently this is different. How, we’re not too sure.

As the Dingles worried about how to make it all happen, with Sam suggesting they call Cain who has conveniently been packed off to Scotland for this storyline, Amy then arrived. Lydia made up a ridiculous story about Tom never having turned up and Belle having been on a walk with Charity. Seriously, call Cain now.

Amy seemed to buy it, but Vinny was still really against the whole cover-up. They ummed and ahhed and eventually agreed they would go ahead, but when they got into the flat, they discovered Tom’s body was gone. The axe remained, though.

Colour us – and the Dingles – confused!

Tom lay lifeless on the mattress as shocked Belle looked at what she'd done (Credit: ITV)

Tom was alive – just – in Emmerdale tonight

Sam and Vinny raced off to find Tom and stop him going to the police, but it was too late, Dr Liam had found him collapsed in a field and called an ambulance. Sam and Vinny came across them and played dumb asking questions to get info. They then decided it was best to go to the hospital to make sure he didn’t say anything.

Belle also wanted to go to the hospital, but Lydia wouldn’t let her. She insisted Belle stick to the story that she went for a walk with Charity. However, Belle escaped and drove off.

The doctors were struggling to bring Tom’s pain levels under control and he had lost a lot of blood. But he’s still clinging on to life – just.

Belle soon came to a horrifying realisation: if he dies, she’s taken another life and has to live with it, if he survives she’s going to prison for attempted murder.

“He’s won,” she cried. Let’s really, really hope not.

Amelia lashes out at Chas and Belle in Emmerdale
Does Amelia ever stop? (Credit: ITV)

    Amelia whinged some more

In the café, Amelia was continuing her campaign to be named soaps whiniest and most annoying character 2024. She whinged at Amy that she didn’t get what the big deal was, Tom was the one in danger from Belle. In this case, she wasn’t wrong, but still.

Amy meanwhile, suddenly keen to play the hero in this storyline, was shocked when Amelia revealed she’d told Tom Belle was going to the police. Seriously? What did she think was going to happen?

When Amelia found out Tom had been stabbed, she was firmly team Tom. She was sure Belle was responsible and went to the hospital to be with her love.

Although she was right, we still can’t be doing with her!

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Jimmy got the call to say Tom had been found by Liam and taken to hospital. He immediately blamed the King curse – and then the Dingles. He is sure Belle is behind this and if Tom wakes up and confirms it, Belle may just be right, Tom will have won.

When will stupid Jimmy see the light and realise who the villain is here? Probably never knowing him, but we can hope!

Belle and Tom’s showdown had devastating consequences as one of them fights for life – here’s what happened in Emmerdale tonight

Emmerdale tonight saw Tom left potentially dead after Belle stabbed him in the back with an axe. This isn’t going to look good for her, but will he pull through?

Meanwhile, Laurel and Charles gave into passion and John was suddenly enthusiastic about a job in the village.

Belle finally fought back – with devastating consequences

Amelia pretended she was no longer on Tom’s side and she now believed everything Belle says. She told Amy she needed a private word with Belle to go through what they ‘have both experienced’ at Tom’s hands. Amy bought every word, but Tom was lurking again and soon emerged to talk about their plot.

Amelia managed to trick Belle into meeting at the Dingles’. She was then was left shocked and horrified when Tom turned up instead of Amelia.

Tom taunted her, but Belle stood her ground. However then he locked them in and took her phone.

When it became clear none of his manipulative behaviour was working, Tom flipped, threw Belle to the floor and started beating her. Then, as she tearfully cradled her bruised and bloodied body, he calmly decided it was time for a coffee. However, even the attack hadn’t dampened her fighting spirit and he lost control again, ranting and raving at her.

She took her chance when his back was turned and grabbed Sam’s shotgun. Belle then escaped, but instead of running down the road to town for help, she ran to a derelict building instead. Tom just followed her and smashed in the door with an axe.

Meanwhile, in the café Amelia let slip she had set Belle up. The family rushed off to save her – but they might be too late…

Tom had got in and although Belle shot him, she hadn’t taken the safety off the gun. He laughed and took it off her, but the fact she’d pulled the trigger made him realise he’d lost all control of her. He then held her at gun point, but as he turned round she stabbed in the back with the axe. Tom fell on to a disused mattress as Belle sobbed in shock at what she’d done. But is Tom going to die?

Laurel slept with Charles in Emmerdale tonight

Laurel organised a disco and karaoke for the harvest festival, but Charles was not impressed and told her to cancel the DJ. He ripped the posters down and said he was taking over everything.

Meanwhile, Manpreet and Laurel were still acting like BFFs despite never having spoken before. And Jai suddenly wanted his former stepmother’s advice on his romantic life.

Laurel made a stand and went to visit Charles at home, but their rowing turned into passion and soon they were kissing, before heading upstairs.

And right at that moment, Manpreet was advising Jai to tell Laurel how he feels. She then went to visit Charles and caught him running down the stairs doing up his shirt. She saw Laurel’s jacket and worked out what had happened. Manpreet was clearly disappointed, but decided not to tell Jai.

Laurel worried their friendship was over as she’d broken girl code, but given their friendship only started yesterday, it’s probably not that big of a deal.

    Cain left town

Cain didn’t want to leave Moira to go and look after Zak. But she insisted he was to go and not worry about her. Easier said than done when she’s got a mass growing on her brain.

But another call from Debbie alerted Cain to the fact his dad’s a lot worse than they first thought.

He did momentarily stop to worry about leaving Belle, but stupid Mack convinced him Belle was safe. Let’s hope Cain gives Mack a special ‘thank you’ for that mistake.

    John stayed in town

For someone who didn’t want to stick around in the village and who didn’t want to use any of his medical training, John went to the doctors for an interview, during which he saved Pollard’s life. After a rather awkward exchange during which Dr Liam suggested he would be good eye candy (eh?) John told him he’d love to accept the job. Very out of character.

Of course busy body Victoria was thrilled with the news and eagerly watched over as John signed on the dotted line. Bet he’s thrilled to be sticking around, no really.

Amelia grew even stupider as Tom plotted against Belle and Zak isn’t well – everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight

We didn’t think it was possible, but in Emmerdale tonight Amelia got even stupider when she fell for Tom’s declaration of love. As she failed to question any of his lies (and her own make-up choices), she agreed to help him do anything. A promise that will undoubtedly end badly for Belle tomorrow night.

Elsewhere, Will and Kim’s divorce war raged on and news reached the village of Zak being unwell. Cain’s off to look after him, which could leave Belle very vulnerable indeed.

Here’s a catch-up on everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight.

Amelia has a go at Chas and Belle in Emmerdale

Belle made a decision as Amelia made a huge mistake

Belle has decided it’s time to go to the police. But Amelia overheard her and Chas having a random discussion and assumed it meant Cain was going to attack Tom, so she launched a tirade at them both. At this point she’s wearing so much make-up she could be auditioning for TOWIE, but that aside, she’s still annoying everyone – including us. Chas gave her both barrels back, which was long overdue, frankly.

Amelia then decided to move in with Amy and Kerry instead. Those two super-detectives have worked out she’s still in touch with Tom and want to do all they can to make her see sense.

Amelia then called Tom to meet her urgently. He wasn’t particularly nice to her and she wanted to come clean about being a couple and move in together. Tom turned nasty and told her he had enough on his plate and he needed peace and not nagging. Upset Amelia left, but has she seen his true colours at last?

Meanwhile, Amy went to visit Belle offering a listening ear. But also she wanted Belle to tell her what had happened between her and Tom to protect Amelia. Obviously Amelia wasn’t interested and was firm Belle was making it all up. Off she went to meet Tom again and accept his apologies without even blinking an overly made-up eyelid.

Of course Amelia told Tom Belle was going to the police and then melted when he told her he loved her. She agreed to help him with whatever he needed as he plotted to regain control and win again. Oh Amelia, you stupid, silly idiot.

The Kim and Will saga dragged on in Emmerdale tonight

The former couple were circling each other like wolves, with Kim shoving her high heel into his sandwich without him realising – ooh, now this really is serious stuff.

Ruby has taken Will and Kim’s split hard. Yes, you read that right, she is upset by it. Mainly because it’s brought up unhappy memories of families and so she does not want Caleb to get involved with Will.

Caleb however, needs Will’s help. He wants Jimmy’s share of the haulage yard now and Will to get it for him, but Jimmy wasn’t interested. Are you still awake? We’re struggling, to be honest.

Caleb and Will then faced off in the pub and we were still bored. Back at home, Will gave Kim a speech about something or other than made little sense to us, but seemed to rattle her. And so we wait for tomorrow, when this will no doubt continue.

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

    John was offered a job

Dr Liam was impressed by John’s medical knowledge in the pub and suggested he think about putting his training to use. He wants John to be a paramedic practitioner.

Of course Victoria had to stick her beak in and John got the wobbles. For some reason, John is still hanging around and keeps chatting to her. We’d have driven off in that stinky van weeks ago to get as far away from her as possible.

    Zak isn’t well

Debbie has called to say Zak is not well. Cain has decided he’s going to go up to Scotland and help. He’s reluctant to leave Moira, but hasn’t really thought about abused sister Belle. With Cain out of the way, Tom feels he’s free to strike, which isn’t good.

And Tom aside, it looks like this could be the start of Zak’s farewell storyline. Pass us the tissues.

    Laurel and Manpreet’s girl talk

Given they’ve never spoken before, Laurel and Manpreet are all of a sudden BFFs, discussing their sex lives in the cafe. Obviously the point of this is to make it all-the-more weird when Laurel sleeps with Charles later this week, but it was still a bit crowbarred in – and cringeworthy.

  • John’s secret was revealed, Kim hit Will where it hurts and Lydia got emotional – here’s what happened in Emmerdale tonight

John’s secret was revealed, Kim hit Will where it hurts and Lydia got emotional – here’s what happened in Emmerdale tonight

Emmerdale tonight saw John’s secret revealed to viewers – and it wasn’t as exciting as we’d hoped. Sure, it was emotional, but it felt a bit flat.

Meanwhile, Kim took more revenge on Will and hit him where it hurt – literally and metaphorically.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight, Tuesday September 24.

Lydia Dingle supports Belle Dingle in Emmerdale

    Lydia opened up to Belle

Belle was frantically searching for hidden cameras in the Dingle homestead. Lydia kept insisting Belle had evidence and encouraged her to go to the police.

Belle then asked Lydia for help – getting her to explain what it was like when she went to the police over Craig and her rape. But Belle was still unsure as they had dropped the charges in Lydia’s case and she felt no one would believe her over Tom. Lydia tried to convince Belle people will see through it as she has evidence. Is it enough to get Belle to go to the police, though?

The conversation and memories hit Lydia hard as she broke down in tears.

But later Lydia offered more comfort to thoughtful Belle telling her she had to decide what happened next. Will Belle finally report her abusive husband?

John throws Victoria out of his van in Emmerdale

John’s secret fell a bit flat in Emmerdale tonight

Victoria apologised to John for her frankly weird and obsessive behaviour, but it still didn’t stop her prying.

John then finally gave in explained who Aidan Moore was. He was apparently his best mate and he died when they were serving in Afghanistan. He went into great detail about Aidan’s death and given he has refused to open up about anything at all, this all seemed quite strange.

John got pretty emotional (for him!) and broke down as he was telling the story. Not that we’re saying this didn’t happen, but surely there’s more to it? The fact this big secret that has been teased for some weeks was delivered right at the beginning of the episode and then not referenced again felt very flat. Hopefully this isn’t it. And if it is, what a waste.

Will Taylor grimaces in Emmerdale (Credit: ITV)
    Will was jealous (Credit: ITV)

Things weren’t going well for Will

Will broke the news to Jimmy Caleb is his new business partner. Jimmy was not happy in only the way Jimmy can’t be. Hearing the commotion, Dawn gave Will the time of day for 10 seconds, but then changed her mind and walked off again.

Will then went toe-to-toe with Kim again, who was claiming she’d slept with someone else last night as said man came down the stairs. How long are we going to have to deal with these two going back and forth? Much as we love Queen Kim Tate, this sort of tit-for-tat is going to get pretty boring, pretty quickly.

Will then may have made a mistake, threatening to have Kim killed in front of a witness. Has he just played right into her hands – can we feel another faked death coming on?!

He earned himself a punch from Kim’s bit of suit after calling her a ‘trollop past her sell-by date’. Kim did tend to Will’s wounds, though, and they even made jokes at each other. And Will admitted he was very jealous. Could she be thawing? Can they make it work and we can all forget about this nonsense storyline?

Not at the moment, because Kim fired back that he needed to move out. Sigh.

Kim then went to visit Dawn and apologised for what happened with Rose. She wanted to be part of Dawn’s family and be friends again. Dawn seemed much more forgiving of Kim than she does of her own dad. But is Kim on the level or is she trying to isolate Will from his family? Does she really mean it?

Will then decided to team up with Caleb to take Kim down. He promised to do anything – legal or illegal to “bring her to her knees” and “make her life a misery”. Will Caleb bite? And what does this mean for Kim? And once again, how much longer are they going to drag this out for?

Laurel's ideas don't go down well with Charles or Claudette in Emmerdale
Just get on with the romance already! (Credit: ITV)

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Charles and Claudette were still planning the Harvest Festival – let’s hope this also comes round quickly because it’s not the most riveting storyline.

Gail got involved, wanting to throw a disco in the village hall. Laurel was totally on board, Claudette was not. Modernising the church seems to be a long way off.

Laurel soon stormed off and Claudette decided she must be menopausal! But then Charles overheard Laurel being mean about his mum and it didn’t go down well.

We appreciate all of this is just a plot device to get Laurel and Charles together, but it all feels a bit forced and crowbarred in to give the characters something to do. Laurel hasn’t really been near the church for years, now all of a sudden she’s a dedicated parishioner who wants to improve attendance? Riiiiight.

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Victoria asked for ‘Moore’ and Will angered Kim… again

In Emmerdale tonight, Victoria grew suspicious of John and went snooping around… because that always turns out well.

Meanwhile, Will warned Kim he won’t go quietly in the divorce.

Also, Belle received a call to say her old house had been left in a mess so she went in with Lydia to investigate.

Here’s everything that went on in Emmerdale tonight, Monday September 23.

Emmerdale tonight: Victoria snoops on John

Eager to learn more about her long lost brother, John, Victoria invited him to join her and Matty for lunch, telling him she had found some old family photos. However, during lunch, John was constantly distracted by his phone.

“I’m trying to tell you about my dead mum and you can’t stop gawping at your phone,” Victoria snapped. She then took John’s phone and read his messages – which is pretty unacceptable.

Considering this complete lack of respect for his privacy, John remained pretty calm. He asked for his phone back, but Victoria ignored him and asked why Aaron was messaging him “like that.” John left the pub, causing Victoria to fume that she was being kept in the dark by both John and Aaron.

Thank goodness for Matty, who told Victoria that they didn’t need her permission to talk to each other. Basically a polite way of telling her that she should probably mind her own business and keep her nosey beak out of it.

But of course she didn’t do that. She headed to John’s van. When he didn’t respond to her knocking, she opened the door and climbed in – as you do. She had a good hunt around and found the dog tag with the name ‘Aidan Moore’ on. John returned to the van and was annoyed to find Victoria invading his privacy yet again.

When she said she just wanted him to be honest, John responded: “I wish I had never met you, so I want you to get out of my van and stay out of my life. Honest enough for you?”

While Victoria’s snooping is not OK, John is obviously hiding something. But what is it? And who is Aidan Moore?

    Kim and Will: It’s war

Following the events of last week in which Kim was revealed to be her own husband’s blackmailer, things continued to be nasty between Will and Kim.

Kim caught Will at the stables, attempting to take her horses and sell them at an auction. “I seem to remember you put these nags in my name as a tax dodge,” Will sniped.

Kim reminded him he wouldn’t get very far without passports and paperwork, which she had locked in the safe. Kim underestimating Will was a popular theme in tonight’s episode and one that later came back to bite her.

She later had a meeting about the divorce and her assets where the financial advisor warned her that prenups weren’t as tight as you’d think and Will could attempt to go for half of everything (something Laurel and Jai know only too well). Kim was once again dismissive of this, claiming Will wouldn’t even have sought legal advice yet.

Later in the Woolpack, Kim was shocked to see Will doing business with Caleb – selling his share of the Haulage yard no less. Kim sneered at Will, insisting he had sold the yard for less than it was worth and told him Caleb was playing him. Will hinted that the deal included something a little extra too…

Back at Home Farm, Kim had the shock of her life when she discovered exactly what that little extra was. Walking into her lounge, Kim saw Will casually sprawled on the sofa like nothing had happened. “If you want to talk to me you can call my brief,” Will told Kim.

Then came the killer blow when he informed her his brief was a pretty good one – Caleb had hooked him up with his one, nicknamed Pitbull, which, let’s be honest, doesn’t sound like someone you’d want to be on the wrong side of.

Will had received some pretty good advice, that it wasn’t wise to leave the house as it weakens his case – “half of everything, he reckons,” Will smirked.

Kim was absolutely fuming with Will – and probably with herself, for underestimating her husband – but she still got the last word, telling him: “If you want a war, you’ve got one. You will regret this because I never lose.” And, Kim’s right, this Queen never loses.

    Also in Emmerdale tonight

Belle received a call to say she’d missed the house inspection and the house was a mess. She said that as she didn’t live there anymore she didn’t realise she had to be there.

Later, she went back to the house. Lydia saw her waiting outside and went in with her. Once inside they stepped on something which they quickly realised was a camera and Tom must have dropped it on his way out when trying to hide the evidence.

Meanwhile, Laurel and Claudette spent the episode clashing, with Charles stuck in the middle. Laurel had some ideas for the Harvest Festival as well as ways in which Charles could update his sermons. Claudette was dismissive of them all.

Charles defended his mum. Laurel then told him that if he didn’t modernise, his mum would be the only one in the congregation. Has she given Charles food for thought?
