Emmerdale tonight: John’s still moody, Moira’s still acting strangely, and Mandy’s still in debt

Emmerdale tonight saw John Sugden stranded in the village. And if we thought we might learn a bit more about him, we were wrong. All we know is he’s still moody and he’s still miserable.

Elsewhere, Mandy became a findom and Moira displayed yet more personalities.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale on Friday August 9.

John squares up angrily to Aaron again
John is no one’s friend, apparently (Credit: ITV)

    John was mean

Despite his stand-offish nature, it didn’t stop Tracy, Chas and Nicola ogling John while he was out for a run. Aaron came along and was snippy about him, meaning Chas immediately worked out something had happened. So Aaron confessed and told his mum it brought everything that happened with Robert back and he couldn’t go there again.

Meanwhile, Victoria was still playing hostess with the mostess, determined to kill John with kindness. But snappy, moody John wasn’t interested in playing happy families. Especially when Sarah turned up wanting to meet her newfound uncle. John then confessed his mum had written a letter to Jack, but he never replied. Victoria was insistent that Jack can’t ever have got the letter.

John stomped off. He then had another encounter with Aaron. He called Aaron “paranoid and a bit of a whiner” – he does have a point. But Aaron didn’t like it and tried to hit him again. However, John once again came out on top. Probably time for a new tactic other than violence.

So, so far we know John has the Sugden moodiness down, but definitely none of the charm.

Mack and Aaron then plotted to wipe the smile off John’s face. Which doesn’t sound sensible at all. But when has that ever stopped them?

Moira was also mean – and then flirty in Emmerdale tonight

Moira was stressed again – this time because Cain had tidied up rather than done nothing. It’s no wonder he can’t keep up.

She then came home later and was all lovey-dovey and kissy. She told him there weren’t many men this “useful and sexy” leaving Cain very confused again. Us to. Is she drunk? Is that what this is? Or is something else going on here?

    Mandy is a findom

Desperate to solve her money worries, Mandy was caught by Tracy signing up for her findom website. And she was not impressed. She insisted Mandy needed to find another way, but Mandy was adamant she was going ahead with it.

Meanwhile, Chas gave Paddy a pre-wedding present that included his and hers slippers and bride and groom rubber ducks. She then let slip they’d been given to them for their wedding. Because that’s not weird. After they shared a moment, Chas told him she was happy for him.

Back at home Mandy chose a mask for her profile pic and soon had her first client ready and waiting. Madame Diamante Dales was born. There’s no way this can go wrong for Mandy, right? Right? We’ll find out next week

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Caleb paid Jimmy a visit and discovered his plan had worked and Jimmy had lost a big client. Part one complete.

Then, conveniently, a inspector turned up to check the vehicles at Home James Haulage… And Jimmy was fined for exceeding his legal driving limits. Did Caleb have something to do with it? Yes, of course he did! Round two to Caleb.

We don’t know about you, but the whole Caleb ruining someone’s life storyline feels a bit, well, boring and dry. Change the record.

Emmerdale tonight: John’s moody and brooding, something’s definitely wrong with Moira and Caleb is plotting again

Emmerdale tonight revealed who John Sugden really is and while Victoria was full of the joys of spring about it, Aaron was not. Not at all. Well, you wouldn’t be would you?

Meanwhile, Moira continued acting strangely and we still don’t know why, but we don’t like it. And Caleb has a new target in yet another plot of his.

Here’s a recap of Emmerdale on Thursday August 8.

    John Sugden met Victoria tonight

Victoria drove Eric to a funeral of an old friend and outside the church got chatting to a young man. After a severe case of foot-in-mouth, the man introduced himself to Eric as John Sugden. Vic looked shocked as the cogs started whirring and Pollard confirmed he could well be her half-brother.

When Vic introduced herself to John, he said he knew Jack was his dad and made it clear he wanted nothing to do with the Sugdens. He wasn’t interested in family life or Victoria and refused to accept her number. Cheery soul is John – and very like half-brother Robert: miserable and moody.

John then broke down again and called a garage to fix it. Obviously it was Mack who arrived and he towed John back to Emmerdale – where Aaron was waiting. Turned out John hadn’t officially robbed him, he’d just driven off without giving his things back. Thank goodness Aaron got his beloved hoodie back.

And Victoria was thrilled to see him again. She immediately revealed Aaron was Robert’s ex-husband and things got very awkward indeed. We love awkward.

John went back to Victoria’s and her very perky full-on behaviour really put him off. But he did begrudgingly agree to stay for one night.

Meanwhile, Aaron was convinced John was up to something. And he got a punch in the stomach for his questioning. Is this a feud? It is sexual tension? Is it the next great love story? Who knows.

Moira slumps her shoulders and gives Cain a hard time in Emmerdale
We still don’t know what’s wrong with Moira (Credit: ITV)

Moira, Moira, give us an answer, do

If, like us, you’re getting a bit fed-up of Moira’s weird behaviour, tonight’s Emmerdale wouldn’t have filled you with joy. She was acting like nothing had happened yesterday as Matty confronted her over her comments. She seemed to almost have forgotten she’d been so cruel, then claimed it just came out wrong.

She said she was sorry and blamed it on always working, cooking or washing. Matty forgave pretty easily.

But later she laid into Cain again, saying she was keeping the family afloat. She said he wasn’t earning enough to support his kids and left it all to her. Ouch.

Moira continued to give him a hard time, she was under pressure and felt he never had her back. He then advised she talk to Liam as she “might need some pills”. Subtle as a brick, but he does have a point. And he left Moira staring into space. We are now as confused as Cain.

Moira then fell asleep on the sofa and Matty woke her up. She seemed confused and unable to remember what had really happened.

Cain later confided in Sam, while Moira poured herself a whiskey at home, before taking the bottle with her. Is it alcohol causing her to act strangely? Or is that what she’s using to feel better and something else is really wrong? Either way, Emmerdale needs to answer quick smart before they ruin Moira like they did Chas.

Jimmy looks concerned while Rodney looks through paperwork in the back of a Lorry in Emmerdale tonight

Caleb plotted against Jimmy in Emmerdale tonight

Rodney was tasked with driving a lorry for Jimmy, something he was very excited about, while Jimmy was not. Two boxes of goods went missing between packing the van and delivery, leaving furious Jimmy accusing Rodney of flogging them on the side.

Turned out Caleb actually had them. He now has Jimmy in his sights as his latest target as he sets up his empire. Caleb was trying to make Home James Haulage look useless, so he could take over. He needs trucks apparently and Jimmy is collateral damage.

Caleb also thinks his dimples will get him everything he wants – he does have nice dimples to be fair.

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Charity was not happy to hear that Amelia and Noah had split especially as Esther is still set to inherit all of Noah’s trust fund. Noah then confessed why and Charity realised what he had done. HE BROKE THE DINGLE CODE.

Charity couldn’t believe it and Noah told her he was jealous. Charity called her son a ‘prawn’ and promised to keep quiet.

Meanwhile, feeling sorry for herself, Mandy buried herself in cake in the café as Tracy encouraged her to fix her financial mess. But Mandy had no idea how. So she headed to the pub. The café, then the pub, is it any wonder she’s broke?!

A random chat with Gail led Mandy to look into becoming a financial dominatrix. Gail tried to persuade her she’d be great at insulting men for cash. But things didn’t go well when Gail tried to demonstrate on Eric – turns out he’s not the kinky type.

Mandy was nervous and unsure, but when she got home and got an offer to pop Paddy’s blisters, she realised it might not be the most disgusting thing she’d done all day and decided to go for it.

Emmerdale tonight: Aaron robbed by John Sugden and Moira verbally abused Matty

Emmerdale tonight introduced a newcomer in the form of John Sugden – only no one except us knows he’s John Sugden yet.

Aaron certainly didn’t when he got jiggy with him in a layby. And that’s definitely something he’s going to live to regret!

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale on Wednesday August 7.

John and Aaron kiss against John's van
Aaron got jiggy, then got robbed! (Credit: ITV)

    Aaron was robbed

No, that’s not a football chant, it actually happened: Aaron Dingle was once again robbed by his online date.

After spending yesterday with his phone pinging and beeping constantly, Aaron finally went to meet the guy he’d been messaging. Only he’d lost his car keys, so ‘borrowed’ Pollard’s car from Mack at the garage where it was waiting for a service without Eric actually knowing.

On his way to the hotel, he was flagged down by someone why had broken down. We recognised him as John Sugden following press pictures that were released, but Aaron didn’t know him – and soon enough he revealed he was actually Aaron’s date. Apparently Aaron had only seen his torso, so hadn’t recognised him. Think we probably need to see his torso now too, to make it fair.

As Aaron fixed his van, it wasn’t long before the pair started kissing. Then they fell into the back of the van and did the deed. Afterwards Aaron wanted an immediate repeat performance, but while he went for a wee in a bush (classy), John drove off – with Aaron’s keys, wallet and hoodie in the back of his van! (Seriously, though, who wears a hoodie on a date to a hotel?!)

As Aaron reported back to Mack and got him to tow him back, furious Mack insisted Aaron had to sort this fast. But the guy had blocked Aaron on the dating app and disappeared.

Poor Aaron doesn’t have much luck with internet dating as Victoria reminded him yesterday, the last guy robbed him too!

Victoria threatened Jai in Emmerdale tonight

Victoria was still mulling over what to do about Jai. Once thing she was certain of though, she’s going to take him to the cleaners.

She soon gave him a choice: give her her job back with a raise or she would hire a ruthless lawyer and expose everything to the papers. Victoria kept pushing Jai for what she wanted and he eventually agreed.

She also took steps towards forgiving Eric. So all in all, it looks like things won’t work out too badly for Vic.

Moira looks annoyed as she lashes out in Emmerdale tonight
Seriously though, what is wrong with Moira? (Credit: ITV)

    Moira lashed out at Matty

So instead of taking her anger out on Cain, Moira turned her attention to Matty. As she played the caring mother, worrying her son was hiding from the world, Matty asked if she called the police on Noah. Moira insisted she didn’t and also insisted Matty didn’t need to worry about her and Cain as they were good. Not sure what she thinks a good relationship is, but anyway!

Matty was worried about Samson, knowing how terrifying prison is. But Moira was adamant they needn’t give him a second thought. She then turned on Matty, aggressively telling him to “man the hell up, you can’t play the victim card all of your life”.

    WHAT the hell?!

Who even is Moira these days? And why is she behaving like this?

Kim glowers at Will in the kitchen at Home Farm in Emmerdale

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Will’s pained expression didn’t change as he said again he wanted to fix things with Kim. She wants to be anywhere rather than with him, though, so is off to Dubai. Kim just couldn’t forgive the fact he’d believed Rose over her and fallen for Rose’s lies.  “If I’m honest Will, I’m not sure there’s anything left worth fixing,” she told him before leaving. And he’s only got himself to blame.

Elsewhere, Noah was officially dumped by Amelia who has a “new perspective” on life, apparently. Noah decided to confess the truth to Lydia hoping Amelia would take him back if he was honest. Surprise, surprise, she didn’t.

Meanwhile, Mandy tried to overcharge Tracy by £20 for her nails, but Tracy refused to pay. Mandy broke down and confessed her debt problems. She’s maxed out several credit cards. Tracy advised her to speak to a debt management company, Paddy and her family. Nope, Mandy will not do that. So just how will Mandy solve her debt crisis

Emmerdale tonight: Samson sent down, Moira turning into abusive Tom and Noah caught out

Emmerdale tonight saw a tearful goodbye for Samson Dingle who was sent to prison. It caused a ripple affect throughout the village as several couples faced splitsville over the situation. Why they’re letting Samson come between them is beyond us, but hey, that’s what’s happening!

Pollard also confessed to Victoria and she confided in Aaron before coming up with a plan. Meanwhile, things were tense between Kim and Will. Still.

Here’s a recap of all the action in Emmerdale on Tuesday August 6.

Samson sent down in Emmerdale tonight

After his arrest for assault Samson had been at the police station all night. But he soon called with good news – the police have got Josh on Eric’s video doorbell and he said enough to incriminate himself. He has been arrested and charged too. Not quite the news Sam was hoping for, but better than nothing.

Just before the ad break, Lydia arrived at the pub with news: the judge sentenced Samson to four years. It’s even more than the solicitor was expecting, but Cain‘s sure if he keeps his nose clean he can get out sooner. Moira just smirked.

Lydia accused Moira of calling the police. But we’re about to find out who really called them…

At the end of the episode Sam and Samson had a moment together before Samson was taken away. Sam told his son he’s proud of him as Samson cried. They had one last hug, shared their love for each other and Samson was gone leaving Sam sobbing in the interview room as the credits rolled.

So that’s all we will see of Samson for now, but his presence is still being felt around the village.

    What is wrong with Moira?

It’s the question on everyone’s lips and one even Cain finally asks tonight when he tells Moira: “I don’t like it when you’re like this, what is wrong with you?”

After her glass-throwing incident yesterday in which she spat the whole family would be better off without him, Cain was remarkably calm when greeting his wife at the breakfast table. They agreed to pretend yesterday never happened – that’s one more free pass for Moira after she nearly punched him last week.

“You’re the one being difficult lately, not me,” Moira told him with a psycho glint in her eye. Beg to differ Moira, you are losing the plot! What is going on with her? She’s giving abusive Tom a run for his money, that’s for sure.

Amelia looks fed up and Noah glum at the Woolpack bar
Why is Amelia is Team Samson all of a sudden? (Credit: ITV)

Amelia obsessed over Samson in Emmerdale tonight

Amelia suddenly really cares about Samson. We mean really cares about the guy who ditched her and wanted nothing to do with her or their daughter. The guy who tried to blackmail Noah into essentially buying Esther off him. That guy is who Amelia is desperately concerned about, looking glum and sulky over at the Woolpack bar. Riiiiight.

As she worried about Esther’s future with her dad behind bars (to confirm that’s the dad who abandoned them and wanted nothing to do with his daughter), Noah was trying to say he’ll be a dad to Esther. Ungrateful Amelia told him Esther needs Samson. Again: not quite sure why, she hasn’t needed Samson for the first 18 months of her life so why all of a sudden can Esther not live without him now?

Later on, Amelia was still shouting about it. She was honestly acting like the love of her life has gone to prison and will never get out. When did Samson even see Esther? We blinked and missed it.

However, it soon turned out Noah called the police to report Samson for assault! He appealed to Amelia that both Josh and Samson need to be kept off the streets. But Amelia dumped Noah – who actually has stepped up and cared for her. But hey, Amelia knows best, even though this makes no sense.

Victoria looks angry at Pollard outside the shop
Can Victoria forgive and forget? (Credit: ITV)

    Pollard confessed to Victoria

Pollard finally told Victoria he was behind her sacking. She was shocked and upset and insisted she could never forgive him, despite his argument it’s because he feels like everyone treats him differently due to his Parkinson’s.

After confiding in Aaron it turns out the never forgive him thing wasn’t really true as she’s already ready to try and forgive him. Aaron advised her to use the information to get her job back and get a pay rise, which got Vic’s cogs turning.

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Things were still tense between Kim and Will. Will wanted to draw a line, Kim wanted to face up to it. Stalemate.

Will later confided in Jimmy who suggested he ‘fess up and repair the relationship. Come clean to Kim Tate? Don’t listen to him Will, you’ll be in whatever ditch Rose is in before you can say ‘sorry’.

Meanwhile, Billy told them both to start helping more. Suddenly Team Rose, he said his mother-in-law at least helped around the house. Can’t see Kim donning her Marigolds any time soon!

Elsewhere, Aaron is on a dating app and looks to be having quite a bit of interest, judging by the sound of his phone pinging during his conversation with Victoria. But who is his mystery man?

Is Rose dead? There was obviously a struggle and she’s disappeared – here’s what happens next

Kim Tate has got rid of Rose in Emmerdale and she hopes it’s for good – but is missing Rose alive or dead?

Rose was last seen sobbing at the side of the road, when a mystery vehicle pulled up beside her. She was in the middle of nowhere and thought she’d been rescued, but actually it turns out something else has happened to her.

So the questions now are: who was driving the car? Did they do something to Rose? And is she dead or alive?

Kim Tate looks wild eyed in Emmerdale
There she is, she’s back! (Credit: ITV)

    Kim takes back Home Farm

We knew Queen Kim was just biding her time, but now she was ready to strike. She had her things packed and ready to leave the B&B, insisted to Lydia the notion of Will cheating was ‘ridiculous’ and headed back to the big house.

Over at Home Farm, Rose was trying to seduce Will again, but he (rightly so) felt guilty and dismissed her. A phone call from Ruby soon stopped Rose in her tracks. She then confessed to Will about The Plan.

It finally (finally) dawned on him Rose had spiked the drink, not Kim, and just as he said: “Kim was right about you all along,” in the Queen strode, declaring: “I hate to say I told you so,” when actually she really didn’t hate to say it at all!

Kim then made it very clear she had won and Rose was to pack her bags and leave. Rose did make a last minute advance on Will, but he dismissed her, threw her in the boot and he and Kim drove her to the middle of nowhere.

Despite Kim insisting Rose wasn’t getting another penny out of her, Will handed his ex an envelope full of cash and she was told never to darken their door again.

Rose had wanted to stay in the B&B to be close to Dawn, but instead, Kim made her leave a message for Dawn saying she was gone. Or else Kim would tell Dawn – and the police – everything.

Surprisingly, Rose didn’t play her trump card and reveal what had happened with Will. She just muttered something cryptic about trust before the Taylor Tates drove off.

Rose looks sad and worried in Emmerdale
Where is Rose now? (Credit: ITV)

    Rose disappears in Emmerdale

Back at home, Kim confronted Will and wanted to know if he’d cheated. He insisted he hadn’t, explaining Rose made a pass at him and he knocked her back. It was unclear whether Kim bought it, but they decided to move on.

Back on the side of the road, Rose was crying over a picture the kids had drawn of ‘Granny Rose’. As she fell off the wagon and took a swig from her emergency hip flask, a vehicle pulled up. It appeared to have the Home Farm logo on it, but it wasn’t clear who was driving.

That was the last we saw of Rose, we next saw Kim and Will return home at the same time. Both had been out separately for a drive to clear their heads. And both were acting suspiciously. The camera then panned back to the side of the road, where we saw Rose’s bag, with the items from it strewn around. So what has happened to her?

So is Rose dead in Emmerdale?

Tomorrow night, brilliant cop PC Swirling comes knocking. Rose’s bag has been found at the side of the road, but there’s no sign of her. Kim and Will hide their guilt – but which one of them is actually guilty?

Next week we still don’t know what has happened to Rose. Both Kim and Will are acting like they know something, but neither is ‘fessing up. Instead they are snapping at each other and it’s clear their marriage is in trouble.

With Dawn wanting to hire a private investigator, the couple try to throw her off the scent. Kim sends a text from Rose’s phone – which stops Will in his tracks as he wonders how on earth she got hold of Rose’s phone.

So there’s no sign of Rose and neither Kim nor Will want her to be found. Kim has her phone – so was she the mystery driver that pulled up at the side of the road? Or was it Will? Or was it neither of them and clever Emmerdale just want us to think that so we don’t guess what’s actually going on…

Here’s a theory: Could Rose have called Ruby, who came to collect her and together they made it look like there had been a struggle? Could Rose being using Kim’s very own trick of faking her own death against Ms Tate as the revenge plot takes on a new shape?

Where is Rose? And is Kim going to end up in a lot of trouble over this?

Emmerdale tonight: Kim takes back Home Farm and we can’t help but feel a tad disappointed

Emmerdale tonight saw the confrontation we’ve all been waiting for: Kim took back Home Farm and kicked Rose out. It might have been a teeny tiny bit disappointing and not quite the fireworks we were expecting, but still, Rose is gone. For now.

Meanwhile, Ella and Liam kissed and Moira nearly punched Cain! Emmerdale on Thursday August 1 was certainly packed full of drama.

Kim looks at Ruby with a smug smile
Ah yes, there she is, the real Kim Tate (Credit: ITV)

Kim heads home – here comes the explosion!

Knowing the truth, Kim was packed and ready to leave the B&B, but first she had a debrief session with Lydia. During which she insisted the idea of Rose succeeding in seducing Will was “Ridiculous”. Oh dear.

Back at Home Farm, Rose was trying to keep her claws into guilt-ridden Will. But she soon got a call from Ruby telling her Kim knew everything.

Rose then confessed to Will about The Plan. Will now knows what an idiot he’s been, especially when he realised Rose was behind the spiking. Just then Kim walked in – colour us excited!

Well, it wasn’t quite the showdown we were hoping for. There was no “you bitch, you cow” slapping exchange. But Kim made it very clear she had won – especially when she got Rose to drink alcohol again.

Kim really did let her off lightly when she told her to pack her stuff and get out. Hmm, not quite the fireworks we expected.

After one last ditch attempt to get Will back, Rose failed and was dropped in the middle of nowhere by Will and Kim. They forced her to travel in the boot, like the excess baggage she is, then made her leave a message for Dawn saying she was leaving for good.

It all seemed a bit anti-climactic at this point – less huge dramatic fireworks and more a sparkler in your back garden.

    Rose looks worried in Emmerdale
Ding dong, Rose is… dead? (Credit: ITV)

    Where is Rose?

Back at home, Kim confronted Will asking why he didn’t answer her calls, he squirmed, but didn’t confess. Kim asked him if there was anything else she needed to know – but he deflected, and then lied, and then had the gall to gaslight Queen Kim Tate. Of all people.

Meanwhile Rose was sitting on the side of the road, crying and feeling sorry for herself. Ever heard of the phrase you’ve only got yourself to blame? A car then pulled up, it was blurry but it definitely had the Home Farm logo on the side. So who was driving?

We then saw both Kim and Will return home at the same time. Both had been out for a drive to clear their heads. And both were acting suspiciously. The camera then panned back to the side of the road, where we saw Rose’s bag, with the items from it strewn across the road. So what has happened to her?

Has Kim or Will done her in? Or is that just what we’re meant to think? Is this just the latest in her plot with Ruby to bring Kim Tate down?

We need more than this – something bigger must be coming. Emmerdale: do not disappoint.

Ella and Liam reunited in Emmerdale tonight

Cain went to talk to Liam about Ella and the baby and Liam admitted he was ashamed of himself. So Cain encouraged Ella to forgive Liam.

They eventually crossed paths in the street and agreed to go back to Liam’s to talk. Ella felt it was right she lost the baby so it wasn’t blighted growing up with a mum who’s a child killer. Liam insisted it wasn’t her fault. He even invited her to have a bath at his place.

A lot of hot water later, They soon found themselves bonding over their loss and he made her soup with veg from his allotment. Turns out that’s the ultimate seduction food because before long they were hugging and then kissing.

Moira crosses her arms and watches on angry in Emmerdale

    Moira almost punched Cain!

Okay if it wasn’t for all the other huge stuff going on tonight, we wouldn’t have left this so far down, but Moira has clearly not let go of her anger towards Cain. She’s forgotten the ‘let’s work together not against each other’ from literally weeks ago and has no respect for the Dingle Code. And she almost punched Cain.

Samson was feeling nervous about prison and Lydia and Sam worried he didn’t know what was coming. Step in Cain who decided to teach him a thing or two about what will happen inside.

Moira witnessed Cain and Samson larking around. She wanted to know what was going on and laid into Cain for helping Samson.

She then turned her attentions to Samson and when Cain pulled her off, she almost punched him. Moira then told him: “Don’t bother coming home tonight.”

Plea to the writers: please don’t make Moira or Cain cheat or split up. Please. No one wants this.

Tom lurks some more – and plots

Getting more and more wound up over Belle being missing, Tom received a mystery package, which of course was to do with Belle. He secretly let himself into her house and was then seen sneaking out. He was later playing with his phone and talking about being at home, which suggests he’s done something to Belle’s house to put him back in control.

    Elsewhere in Emmerdale tonight…

Amelia was feeling sorry for Samson and Noah was not happy about it. She wants to visit Samson in prison, but Noah wasn’t not keen. Looks like that’s another couple about to split up then. What does it take to be happy in Emmerdale?!

Also, Tom was left furious when Belle took control and Ella told Liam what she really thought.

Emmerdale tonight: Will cheated – sigh

Rose greeted Will in her nightie and with an offer of pancakes with plenty of golden syrup. Will declined and left.

Then Ruby swiftly arrived (does no one lock their back door in Emmerdale?) and told Rose: “I need results, you’re going to have to do better than pancakes and golden syrup, time’s up.” Honestly, she’s not wrong – golden syrup’s hardly got the wow factor.

Meanwhile, Kim’s run up quite the mini bar bill at the B&B. Fortunately the loo roll is free.

As she was dealing with Nicola, Will arrived, but Kim pretty much ignored him. Will left with his tail between his legs – well, what does he expect? Seriously, he’s practically kicked her out of her own home and taken Rose’s side over hers’, ignoring him is the least he deserves.

Obviously, however, Will was put out and took this as a green light to head home to Rose and do what he liked, but more on that later.

Kim then had a conversation with Caleb and soon realised he wasn’t behind the plot, Ruby was. So Kim went off to see Ruby, spotted her expensive brandy on the side and confronted her over the plan.

Ruby tried her best to wind Kim up, but Kim told her: “You’ll have to do a bit better than that.” And she’s right. Frankly, no one is a match for Kim Tate at her finest.

But back to Will. Stupid, silly, Will. How he could fall for Rose’s charms, when actually she is the most irritating person on the planet, is beyond us. But licking his wounds after Kim ignored him (poor baby), Will did just that.

As he felt sorrier and sorrier for himself Rose silenced him with a kiss and it didn’t take much for Will to respond. Another cheater in the Dales. Sigh. We really really thought better of him.

    Ella kicked Liam out

After last night’s baby bombshell, Liam has withdrawn funding from the B&B for Ella. Liam then told Mandy Ella had lied about the baby. So Manpreet told him the truth and he realised what a dreadful doctor he is. And also dreadful person.

Finally, Liam apologised to Ella, but she was furious with him. She told him to leave her alone before bursting into tears. He didn’t need much convincing though and left quick smart.

    Peeping Tom’s still lurking

We have a feeling we’re going to be writing this a lot. Tom was lurking outside Belle’s house when she left to take Piper for a walk. He put on the poor puppy act and told her she was all he cared about. She walked away. Go girl.

Later on Charity went to see Belle and encouraged her to go and visit Zak and Debbie. Belle didn’t think she should be forced to run away, but decided to go anyway, on her own terms.

Tom was not happy to see her going away. He tried to regain control – offering to drive her and then to look after Piper. Belle stood her ground, took the dog and let Charity drive her away.

But something tells us Tom won’t let this end here.

Things were still tense between Jai and Laurel at The Hide as he tried to bully her into leaving. Caleb then gave Jai advice to protect himself during the divorce, which got Jai thinking. Must’ve hurt.

Emmerdale tonight: Liam lashed out, Tom’s still lurking, Kim’s remembered who she is and Jimmy’s a hunk – apparently

Emmerdale tonight saw Liam totally forget every single bit of his medical training and accuse Ella of never being pregnant. Talk about bad bedside manner from the doc!

Meanwhile, Tom continues to watch Belle, and Kim finally remembered who she is and took revenge. Shame she did it on the wrong person, though.

Emmerdale tonight: Liam didn’t believe Ella’s pregnancy claim

It looked like Liam was starting to come round to the idea of being a dad again. But just as he warmed to it, Ella told him he couldn’t come to the scan as he’d ruin it for her with his attitude.

Liam eventually did go with her when her taxi didn’t show up. But heartbreak struck at the scan the sonographer couldn’t find a baby. As she went off to find a doctor, Liam said: “I knew it. There is no foetus. Ella, you’re not pregnant and you never were, were you?”

Liam then stormed out. Never mind waiting for an explanation from the medical team, Dr Liam knew best and knew she had lied. He then told Paddy he wanted her gone.

But Ella had been called by Manpreet after she ran away from the hospital. Manpreet told her she had had an anembryonic pregnancy – also known as a blighted ovum or silent miscarriage. There was a real baby.

Manpreet also commented Liam should have seen this before. Well, exactly. What sort of a doctor is he? Actually don’t answer that, he’s barely ever at work anyway.

    Tom’s still lurking

So, we know Tom and Belle and the abuse storyline is going to go on until the end of the year. But now she’s left him, what we can expect is months of him lurking. Joy.

That’s exactly what he’s been doing so far this week. He started out in the café, acting suspiciously with his newly purchased key for Belle’s house. The least hard working vet in Emmerdale also didn’t bother to turn up for work, but hey, who needs a job, right?!

Meanwhile, mental health worker Rachel visited Belle at home after she missed her appointment again. Frustratingly, Rachel couldn’t see through Belle’s lies that she was “taking control of her life” – when she clearly wasn’t because she’s still covering for Tom.

But once Rachel had left, Belle started to search ‘was I being abused?’ on her laptop. Hallelujah!

And later Belle was seen taking the cameras down. Hallelujah again! Is she actually taking control? We don’t believe it yet…

Lydia stopped to talk to her and Tom was – you guessed it – lurking in the bushes watching everything. Let’s call him Peeping Tom from now on, eh?

Emmerdale tonight: Kim took revenge – on the wrong person

Kim was playing Russian spy in the café, her plot against Caleb taking shape. Lydia was worried Kim would get burned, but she needn’t have been because Kim was apparently wearing Kevlar knickers. Not the underwear we had Ms Tate down for.

Elsewhere, Caleb got a call saying his car firm had been burnt down. He went to see the place and came back to see a detective waiting, who suspected arson – and clearly suspected Caleb had done it himself for the insurance.

“If it does confirm arson, I will find out who’s responsible,” she told him. But honestly, that’s a bold statement from the Hotten police who couldn’t solve a crime if it was committed right in front of their eyes and the culprit said: “It was me!”, so we doubt Caleb has much to worry about.

During dinner at the Woolpack, Caleb – tucking into what looked like an entire roast chicken (must’ve been hungry) – dismissed Ruby‘s theory Kim was behind it. Kim made jibes at him and it made her confused when he didn’t react.

Has she got the wrong person? (Spoiler alert: Yep!)

No, no way and never, Jai (Credit: ITV)

    R.E.S.P.E.C.T

Jai is giving Laurel a really hard time at work. Someone should tell him if he wants to win her back this isn’t the best way to go about it.

But baby Jai told her she needed to show him “the proper respect” – should take a look in the mirror, Jai, if you’re talking about showing respect.

Jai then took things up a gear when he got an email from Laurel’s solicitor and he accused her of trying to take him for everything. “You kicked me out and now you want to rinse me?” he incredulously asked.

“I am entitled to my fair share,” Laurel stood her ground. The battle lines are drawn and this split is about to get messy as well as boring. Oops, sorry we meant interesting.

Kim commented that Jimmy was ‘hot’ – it was said with a hint of sarcasm, but Jimmy took it and ran with the ‘compliment’ – well, when you’re married to Nicola, you’ll take whatever compliments you can get!

Emmerdale tonight: Belle escaped Tom after a vicious attack

Emmerdale tonight, and there was a fantastic flashback episode dedicated to what had taken place between Belle and Tom at the cottage in Wales, after Cain and Charity discovered blood yesterday.

Eerie music played as the camera took viewers around the aesthetically charming cosy cottage before landing on the worrying blood on the door.

Then we were transported back four days to the couple’s arrival in Pembroke…

Belle learned the truth about Wales

Belle was thrilled when she clapped eyes on the stunning and isolated property. At first it appeared to her like a perfect getaway, as Tom regaled her with history on King Arthur and his wife, Guinevere, his one true love… who betrayed him. (Alarm bells!)

Later, Belle overheard Tom on the phone, discussing staying on at the cottage.

“This is huge Tom, and you’ve not even mentioned it,” Belle dared to say.

He fobbed her off, claiming he was going to bring it up over a romantic dinner – and then changed the subject by having a go at his wife for ruining the roast lamb she’d lovingly prepared.

The following morning brought painfully precise details of Belle’s torment – how she buttered and then spread marmalade on Tom’s toast so carefully.

He then declared he was going to meet the local vets practice, and dismissed his wife’s concerns about him planning their life without her.

“Look at this place, we could get you a pony… imagine it, Belle,” he said.

Emmerdale tonight: Puppy Piper abused again

When he got home, he was furious to discover Belle had gone out after Piper had run off.

Tom decided to teach the poor pup a lesson, chaining her up outside and ignoring her pleading barks.

The following day brought more anxious buttering of toast from Belle – and Piper barked outside after being left there all night.

Tom lectured frightened Belle on discipline, announcing, “I don’t want our kids to be feral.”

Belle looked terrified at just the prospect of imagining having children with him.

With that, Tom then went out to get milk, criticising Belle for how much tea she drank – and locking her in as he left.

When he came back, Tom announced he’d been offered the job and, as Belle once again tried to challenge him on not discussing it with her, the gaslighting began once more.

He demanded to know why Piper was still outside and, when Belle said he’d locked her in, Tom said the door was obviously stiff and she hadn’t tried hard enough to open it.

“Why Belle, why the constant need to play the victim?” he mocked.

WHO ELSE WANTS TO KILL THIS MAN?!

    Tom turned violent

The situation really blew up over lunch, as Belle tip-toed around telling Tom she didn’t want to move to Wales and was scared how she’d cope if she had to move away from her family.

Her husband flew into a rage, throwing his glass of red wine at the wall and shouting: “Were you thinking about family when you killed our baby? Knowing how much I wanted a child. What about my family, why is it always about yours?”

Then Tom struck Belle and, as she sobbed on the floor bleeding, he goaded: “We never finished our story about the King and his Queen, who turned out to be such a crushing disappointment… what did he do after being lied to, humiliated, disrespected?

“Do you want to know the answer? He sentenced her to die.”

Belle then made a run for it to the bathroom, with Tom following to apologise – although it was really another excuse to attack her for the abortion. But he slipped up and Belle discovered that Tom had known about the termination before she confessed to it.

He then chillingly told her that they had to stay together… there was no alternative.

Belle was horrified later to find that he had apparently taken a load of pills. “If we can’t be together, I don’t want to live,” he told her, feebly.

The following morning, we learned that Tom had been sick and was feeling fine. Enough to tell off his wife for burning the toast.

    Belle’s great escape

Belle finally reached her limit after this and seized a chance to escape with Piper, locking Tom in the cottage.

Enraged, he smashed the place up before escaping through a window.

He had almost caught up with Belle as she got onto a bus.

“Belle! What are you doing, get off the bus now! Beeeeeeellllle!,” he bellowed.

Meanwhile, Belle sat at the back of the bus cradling Piper, relief slowly washing over her terrified face as the bus pulled away.

    BRAVO!!!

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Cain and Charity’s horrible discovery at Belle and Tom’s ‘getaway’

Emmerdale tonight saw at least some of the Dingles finally catching onto what has been poking them in the face for months: Belle is married to an utter wrong un and very probably in real danger…

Cain and Charity made a horrible Belle discovery

The episode began with Cain looking wistful, as he held his phone.

“Just trying to get hold of our Belle,” he told Moira. “Vanessa saw her going off with Tom in his car.”

His missus tried to reassure him that they’d probably just decided to go away last-minute for a bit of time out.

But Cain continued: “Only, Paddy saw an email only meant for Tom off some vets in Wales offering him a second interview.

    “They’re not moving!”

He added that he’d also tried to call Tom, but there was no answer.

Moira concluded: “She’ll be fine, I’m sure, don’t worry.”

Now, we all know what a sentence like that means in Soapland!

Later Charity spotted a woman knocking at Belle and Tom’s door, who eventually confided that she is Rachel, Belle’s care coordinator from the community mental health team.

Belle had missed a routine appointment, Rachel explained, so she wanted to check in on her.

When Charity mentioned she was worried about Belle, she noted by Rachel’s face that she was too.

With that, Charity told Cain they needed to go and look round the couple’s cottage for clues as to their whereabouts.

“I’m breaking in, I’ve got a really crappy feeling about this, Cain,” she declared.

Once inside the house, baffled Charity gasped: “Get a load of this, door and window censors everywhere – what’s he need this for?”

She then found a notebook listing everything Belle and Tom spend, including on coffees, flowers and birthday cards.

“Do you reckon he’s quizzing her on everything she spends? Why do I get the feeling he’s running the show here?” Charity added.

When they then found an address for a cottage in Pembroke – and Belle’s phone – Charity was adamant they get to Wales, pronto.

Worse findings followed at the Welsh cottage... including blood on the door. “What’s he done to her?” Charity asked, panic rising in her voice.

Cain replied: “Whatever he’s done, he’s a dead man.”

Liam struggled with Ella’s pregnancy news

Across the village, Chas paid Liam a visit.

“Chas I owe you an apology, finding out the way you did, ” he said, referencing Ella’s pregnancy.

“Granted it was a bit of a shock but not as much as for you, I’m guessing,” she replied.

Liam admitted that he was feeling like he was slowly drowning and wondering, “Why me?”

He added: “How am I supposed to get my head around any of this? It’s not just the emotional minefield of being a dad again after Leanna, it’s doing it all with her.

“I’ve told her we’re over for good, there’s no chance we are ever getting back together.”

“I can barely bring myself to look at her, truth be told.”

He continued: “Losing Leanna was the worst thing to happen to me, the idea of being that vulnerable again, but in a worse set of circumstances… it terrifies me.

“She had no right to do this, she said she was on the pill. How do I know she didn’t plan this, get pregnant on purpose?”

Then he got to the crux of what’s bothering him most, asking Chas: “And I’m aware this situation with Ella probably also rules me out of other relationships?”

    “Probably,” Chas replied.

Ella protested: “I need to speak to him and explain, I haven’t done this on purpose, I’ve not done this to trap him.”

But when she knocked on Liam’s door, he hid inside staring at a photograph of his late daughter…
