What happened in Emmerdale tonight? April made a big decision and Ross threatened Joe

Tonight in Emmerdale, Noah had a chilling memory from the night he was drugged. After questioning if Joe Tate had been there, Ross took matters into his own hands and kidnapped Joe.

Elsewhere, April Windsor made a big decision about her stillborn baby.

Here’s a full rundown of what happened in Emmerdale’s hour long episode tonight (Thursday, February 27).

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: The mystery with Joe continued

While talking to Noah, Joe said: “All this hassle is just temporary. You just gotta get it over with.”

This caused Noah to have a flashback to the hospital on the night of the limo crash, where a doctor asked “Are you sure you want to go through with this? It’s not too late to back out now.” Joe was there where he said: “We’ve come this far. Just get it over with.”

Noah then asked Joe if he was there on the night he was spiked, describing his memory of ‘something like a hospital.’

Joe denied all knowledge and said that being ‘injected’ with drugs must have messed with his memory.

Charity then told Ross that it was weird that Joe said ‘injected’ when no one knows that’s what happened to Noah.

Later, Ross threatened Joe and took him to a barn and demanded to know what Joe did to Noah. He held a needle with drugs in and threatened to use it on Joe if he didn’t talk.

Joe then showed Ross boarding passes on his phone and said he was actually in the air the night of the limo crash. Hmmmm…

Ross left Joe locked in barn ‘for the LOLs’ but Joe managed to escape and get home. After calling someone for help, he passed out on the stairs.

A man arrived and helped Joe upstairs saying, ‘let’s do this.’ The man later asked Joe: “Do you think you’re fit to be conducting however many other covert operations in addition to ours? Because I don’t. I think it’s, erm, idiotic.”

The man then pointed at a case and said it’s not a long term plan. Joe said the long term plan they do have needs to hurry up, adding: “I’m not sure how much time I’ve got left.” What exactly is their plan?

April made a big decision in Emmerdale tonight

Marlon, Rhona and April met with the counsellor – Trina, where Marlon suggested they should register April’s stillborn baby’s birth. April remained reluctant though.

When alone with Trina, she admitted she felt guilty for not appreciating the nice house she has and admitted to missing her friends on the streets.

April later told Marlon and Rhona that she was ready to register the baby’s birth. She named her Rebecca after her late friend Becca.

Following that, April announced that she wanted to go back to school the next day. Is it too soon?

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Steph was suspicious of Ruby

Caleb couldn’t find Ruby. But we later saw her in the woods where her father is buried, talking to him . She screamed that she feels guilty and is a bigger mess than ever before.

Cain Dingle found her and Ruby told him she doesn’t know how to be normal about it.

Cain gave Ruby a lift home and dropped her off in the village so that no one saw them. However they were spotted by Steph – who just so happened to be standing in that part of the village.

Steph returned home and told her dad that Ruby is still seeing Cain. Ruby explained that it was innocent. But Steph knows something is up and is determined to find out.

    Elsewhere in the village

Cain continued to be hated and Kyle told him he didn’t want him at his football tournament. Later, Cain arrived home to see Moira and Caleb laughing. He commented that it looked ‘cosy,’which is rich coming from him after what he did with Ruby.

Meanwhile, Kim continued to be suspicious of Joe and brought Dawn into her plan, telling her to keep an eye on his shifty behaviour.

  • What happened on Emmerdale tonight? Ruby broke down at Anthony’s burial site and Kim played Joe

What happened on Emmerdale tonight? Ruby broke down at Anthony’s burial site and Kim played Joe

Emmerdale tonight (February 26) aired the aftermath of Chas’ decision to go to the police. And while she was adamant it was the right thing to do, John halted their plans.

The episode centred around John taking the lead and making sure the group stayed together. But after he showed them where Anthony is buried, could things be worse for Ruby?

Elsewhere April began to open up to Rhona, who agreed to keep it between them. And Kim once again played Joe to find out what he is up to, as Charity is still convinced he spiked Noah.

So here’s a full rundown of what happened in Emmerdale tonight.

All of those involved with Anthony's murder cover-up were brought to the woods by John (Credit: ITV)

    Chas’ plan is halted

Aaron didn’t like his mum’s idea to go to the police, worried it would throw John in the frame more than anybody else. But Chas seemed suspicious that he hadn’t shown them were the body was, and even queried his loyalty.

When Aaron headed home to question John about the body, John seemed hurt by the accusation. And evidently disliked that Chas doesn’t trust him. He reminded Aaron: “I put my life on the line to save your skin. Remember that.”

But it clearly struck a nerve as soon all of those involved in Anthony’s cover-up headed to the woods to meet him. And John took the lead. He informs them he wasn’t trying to manipulate the situation, but that the less they knew, the better. After explaining how the whole murder has impacted him, he outs Chas’ plans to the group.

John showed where the body was – and Ruby broke down

After Caleb and Cain let their (hypocritical) anger known at Chas, John takes control once again and informs them they need to stick together otherwise they all go down.

He then directs their attention to the spot in front of them – where Anthony is buried.

From that moment everyone agreed to take John’s advice and to trust him. But with all the speculation that he is Emmerdale’s next serial killer – is this a bad idea?

Back at home, Ruby gets emotional thinking that Anthony was buried there and that it’s her fault. But Caleb once again informs her that the only person to blame is her evil dad.

But at the end of the episode, Ruby went back to the spot and broke down in tears. Could she ruin the plan for everyone?

    Joe is played by Kim

When Kim finds one of her listening devices in the bin thanks to Lydia, she realises that Joe must have been onto her plan. And immediately tries to think of a way to find put the truth.

She apologised to him, and admitted she had been spying on him because she was afraid she couldn’t trust him. But that she has realised he has nothing to hide.

Joe happily accepts her apology, and her extra workload, but fails to realise he is still being watched. As Kim now has Lydia working against him on the inside.

    Elsewhere

April woke up with her first period since her traumatic birth experience. And when Rhona realised, she managed to get her to open up slightly. April explained it took her back to the birth, and asked Rhona not to tell Marlon any of it.

Away from that, Charity remained convinced that Joe was the one who spiked Noah – and confided in Mack. But he kept reminding her that her judgement is clouded when it comes to Joe and that she doesn’t have any proof. With Charity more sure than ever – will she get the proof she needs?

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Chas wants to to to the police, Charity is onto Joe, and Noah’s in the dark

Chas Dingle put forward a plan to go to the police over Anthony’s disappearance in Emmerdale tonight (Tuesday, February 25) – as she worried that warring brothers Cain and Caleb are about to ruin it for everyone.

Elsewhere, as Noah blamed himself for the limo crash, Charity pursued Kim Tate in the hope of bringing Joe down. She knows that he spiked Noah… but can she prove it?

Meanwhile, Moira confronted Ruby over her fling with Cain, and Vanessa turned to Mary for help.

Here’s everything that happened on Emmerdale tonight.

Cain and Caleb’s feud continued on Emmerdale tonight

Bright and early, Cain paid a visit to Tracy on Frankie’s birthday. He handed over a gift he’d found on the doorstep from Nate. Questioning whether she’d heard from him, Tracy revealed he still wasn’t answering his phone, and had gone incommunicado since leaving the village.

Unsurprising, given he’s currently chained up like Jason Voorhees at the bottom of a lake… but who’s sending Frankie birthday gifts?

Cain then bumped into Aaron and Chas, who were concerned for Moira, undergoing radiotherapy with the stress of a cheating husband and a secret murder. Spotting Caleb with Kyle, Cain dragged his son away, and issued Caleb another warning. With PC Swirling hovering nearby, Chas ushered the boys back home for another hush-hush meeting of the murder cover-up club.

In the Woolpack back room, Chas attempted to contain the situation. Her worries that their feud was going to collapse their carefully stacked house of cards fell on deaf ears, and the brothers continued to rage at each other.

Moira had it out with Ruby

As Matty and Moira returned home from an appointment, he questioned how Moira could be so forgiving of Cain. He knows nothing of the murder, of course – and just saw his mum as being uncharacteristically weak.

Moira interrupted as Aaron begged Ruby to make Caleb see sense, sending him packing. She shared what Matty had told her earlier, then unloaded on Ruby for dragging her into a murder conspiracy when she should be looking after her own health and family.

As the pair shared a glass of wine, Moira demanded to know why Cain, of all people. Ruby confirmed that she’d just wanted to hurt herself, without thought of others.

Ruby begged Moira to forgive Cain and not throw away their marriage…. but will Moira listen?

Chas wants to go to the police

As Aaron filled Chas in on Moira’s visit, she continued to stress that the brothers were going to ruin it for everyone. She told Aaron that they needed to preemptively go to the police and save their own skin.

Her plan was for Aaron to go to the police and admit that he’d had a run-in with Anthony, making himself look innocent and throwing the ball back into the others’ court.

Will Aaron agree to go to the police?

Noah struggled to put together the pieces

Joe was making smug calls in the Woolpack, congratulating a mystery business partner on his latest deal. After being called slimy by Charity, he bit back, telling her that she seemed to be in a good mood given she’d just caused three deaths. Ouch.

It was then that she told him that she knew he’d spiked Noah. He denied it, and accused her of making him her scapegoat to cover for her own guilt.

Later, Joe paid Noah a visit – bringing gifts of crisps, beer and a PlayStation 5. Noah remained downbeat, still blaming himself for the limo crash. As Joe pressed whether he’d remembered anything from the experience, Noah confirmed that it was a total blackout, save for fleeting glimpses of a hospital.

    Charity begged Kim for help

Kim was listening in on more of Joe’s audio recordings when Charity stormed in and again accused Joe of spiking Noah. She revealed that she knows about all Kim’s surveillance – and wanted help finding proof of what Noah had done.

Kim was convinced that Joe’s a changed man, but Charity was having none of it. And, as Joe returned home, she once again warned him to stay away from Noah.

Kim kept quiet about Charity’s true motives, but it was clear she was rattled.

Vanessa turned to Mary in Emmerdale tonight

Tracy and Vanessa celebrated Frankie’s birthday. Tracy was dismayed to find that Vanessa hadn’t bought her niece a present or card – but, to be fair, she’s had other things on her mind, with the death of Suzy.

In the pub, Charity shared a moment with Vanessa, telling her that she’d always been fond of Suzy and liked them both together. in turn, she informed Charity that Suzy’s parents had begun funeral arrangements in her hometown. With the assembly restricted to close friends and family only (plus Vanessa), she asked Mary if she’d mind attending the funeral with her.

Mary – who only moments earlier had been pining over a picture of Suzy – accepted without hesitation. Does she have an ulterior motive?

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Charles held a vigil for the crash victims and Cain threatened Caleb

In Emmerdale tonight, the villagers came together for a vigil held by Charles to mourn Leyla, Suzy and Amy.

Elsewhere, Cain Dingle threatened Caleb over attempting to set him up.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight (Monday, February 24).

Charles organised a vigil to mourn those who lost their lives in the limo crash.

Vanessa decided not to attend, telling Mary: “I don’t want to go and have people telling me how much they miss her because I miss her. I miss her so much.” Mary attended on Vanessa’s behalf. Later, she took a photo of Suzy from the fridge as she hid her true feelings for Suzy.

Meanwhile, Matty gave Victoria a bracelet that Amy had been wearing, while Jacob Gallagher was touched that Liam had come to support him.

But things took a turn for the worse when Noah turned up. Probably wasn’t the wisest decision he’s ever made.

Jacob immediately went on the attack, telling him: “You’ve got balls, turning up to the vigil of the people you killed.”

Jacob refuses to believe the crash was an accident and also took his frustration out on Sarah. When she asked if the pair of them were OK, he responded: “Stop protecting your family, and we’ll be alright.Do not say he was spiked. He was off his head and that caused your gran to crash. If you want to know the truth, they’re both to blame.”

Charity tried to discover the truth

While in hospital, doctors revealed that Noah had drugs in his system and was likely spiked. But with Noah unable to remember anything, Charity has been trying to piece things together.

Tonight she asked Belle to help her find Jacob’s friend Rich, who Charity believed to be responsible for spiking Noah.

Charity turned up at The Hide where Belle had arranged to meet Rich. Rich was angry about being blindsided like that and insisted he was innocent.

He said he wouldn’t spike anyone, and added: “I’m a medical student who saves people. I don’t hurt them.”

He also listed his phone number and address, telling Charity she was welcome to give them to the police as he had nothing to hide. Once he left, Belle told Charity that she believed him, leaving Charity back at square one.

Moira and Cain continued to bicker. Moira gave him the cold shoulder, while making digs about his ‘sordid little secret.’

Kyle was also angry at his dad, telling him that he was supposed to be someone he could look up to. Probably wasn’t wise to have Cain as a role model, Kyle.

Caleb couldn’t hide his hatred for his brother either, though he has forgiven wife Ruby. When Ruby thanked Caleb for forgiving her, he said she has forgiven him for much worse. She said: “I always will,” before he said: “Remember that for next time.” Sounds ominous.

Aaron revealed to Cain that Caleb had tried to blackmail him into keeping quiet about setting Cain up. Cain later let slip to Steph about her dad’s ‘plan.’ However, when no details were forthcoming, Steph left after telling them all she was determined to find out what was going on.

With things looking like they were about to kick off, Chas insisted the six of them – her, Cain, Caleb, Ruby, Aaron and John – go into the back room of the pub.

Cain told them all that Caleb tried to frame him up for Anthony’s death and then blackmailed Aaron. Cain then issued a threat of his own and told Caleb that if he tried anything like that again, he’d be happy to serve time because Caleb would be joining Anthony.

Manpreet acted coy after receiving some messages. When questioned about it, she told Paddy she couldn’t tell him because of client confidentiality. But who is she really messaging?

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Kyle learned the truth about Cain and Ruby as the village mourned its losses and Jacob blamed Noah

The village began to grieve its losses in Emmerdale tonight (Friday, February 21), as the deaths of Suzy, Leyla and Amy were mourned by friends and loved ones. And, as Kyle picked up on an atmosphere between Cain and Moira, he learned the truth about his dad’s betrayal.

Elsewhere, Caleb tried to ease relations between Ruby and Steph, and Noah struggled to piece together his past.

The village grieved in Emmerdale tonight

As a new dawn broke in the village, Charity watched as the limousine was taken away on the back of a lorry. Mack was on hand to reassure her that it hadn’t been her fault, but the three deaths weighed heavy on her conscience.

In the hospital, Pollard was desperate to get Jacob back home so he could begin grieving properly. Later, in the cafe, Sarah filled him in on what had happened with Noah.

Meanwhile, at what should have been their new home, Matty sobbed over a picture of Amy. Kerry found him in a state of devastation over Amy’s death, grieving the family they’d been about to start.

Elsewhere, Vanessa broke the news of Suzy’s death to Johnny. Thoughts of her own mortality running riot, Tracy spoke of how last night’s experience had made her wish that Nate were there. Oh, if only you knew, Trace…

And, later that night, as Vanessa continued to mourn, Tracy decided to give Nate a call. Going straight through to voicemail, she left her ex a message, filling him in on what had happened over the last few days.

Meanwhile, at the lake, a sinister hooded figure stood watch over the water. Beneath the surface, poor dead Nate remains, no closer to being found.

Kyle learned the truth about Cain and Ruby

Kyle found Cain asleep on the sofa. Having just lost his mum, he was worried that sick Moira would be next. She reassured Kyle that she was going nowhere, but he’d picked up on the atmosphere between the pair, and Moira was no closer to forgiving her cheating husband.

Later, in the cafe, Mack confronted Cain over the affair. Unaware that Kyle had been in earshot, Mack unwittingly spread the village’s hottest piece of gossip – and the youth suddenly realised why Cain was in the doghouse.

Cain and Mack tried to spin their way out of trouble, but it was too late – and the arguments and sleeping on the sofa all began to make sense. Refusing to go home with Cain, Kyle stormed over to Matty and Kerry, begging for a place to stay.

The grieving mum and husband were in no place for house guests though, and Moira was forced to admit that Cain had cheated on her as she picked him up.

Later, In the pub, Chas had some choice words for self-pitying Cain, who promptly headed off to do something stupid.

    Caleb tried to build bridges

Caleb was feeling hopeful about the future, although he was worried that Cain and Aaron might have swapped notes on his plans to frame Cain for Anthony’s murder. Just then, Steph walked in, with more unpleasant words for her parents.

Caleb tried to talk her around in the cafe, making it clear that the blame was entirely on Cain for taking advantage. Back home, he entreated Ruby to talk to Steph, encouraging her to tell her the full truth about what Anthony had done.

He then left again, on mysterious business. Possibly joining Cain in doing something stupid?

In the hospital, confused Noah tried to make sense of his fractured memories. Still reasoning that someone had spiked him, he shared his suspicions with the police, who promised to question Jacob’s mate.

Arriving back in the village, he was confronted by Jacob himself, who blamed him for his mother’s death – accusing him of being on drugs and lying about it to cover for the mess he’d caused.

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Absolute heartbreak as Amy died as Charity searched for answers over Noah

The fallout of the limo ice crash continued in Emmerdale tonight (Thursday, February 20) as Amy Barton died from the shock of her time under the ice-covered lake. Amy suffered a seizure in last night’s episode and, as the soap continued, she ultimately lost her battle for survival.

Elsewhere, as Noah recovered from the drugs in his system, Charity searched for answers. Back in the village, as Moira confronted Ruby, news of her betrayal with Cain began to spread like wildfire.

Meanwhile, beneath the surface of the lake, Nate’s body waited to be found.

Here’s everything that happened on Emmerdale tonight.

    Amy died in Emmerdale tonight

Tonight’s episode began with a flashback of Amy under the water, staring out from beneath the ice. As she floated below the surface, she came face-to-face with the mystery body again. Nate, is that you?

In the hospital, doctors rushed to save Amy’s life, clearing Kerry and Matty out of the room. With Kyle on the way, the doctors informed them that they’d managed to stabilise Amy, although she wasn’t out of the woods just yet.

Cain and Kyle arrived with Amy still unconscious. His mum off having it out with Ruby, Matty was still fuming with Cain, leaving Kyle confused as to why there was such a frosty atmosphere between the two. Come on boys, we’re trying to bring the temperature up in here.

As Kyle begged his mum to pull through, she offered a tentative squeeze of the hand, giving fresh hope that she was on the mend. Sitting vigil while Kerry and Kyle went for a wander, Matty promised her that they’d start work on their family. It was then that Amy very briefly regained consciousness. The first words out of her mouth confirmed what we all suspected to be true: “Nate. In the water.” The last? “I love you.”

She then flatlined, and the limousine crash claimed its third life.

    Charity searched for answers

Charity and Mack sat with Noah, who was still suffering the effects of the drugs in his system. Mack reassured a guilt-ridden Charity that the accident hadn’t been her fault… what was she supposed to do, run over her own son? It was then that Joe swung by for a visit.

Against her better judgement, Charity let him stick around and, as they attempted to make sense of the situation, Mack reminded them that Jacob had been arguing at Leyla earlier in the day – over her accusation that he’d been using coke. Charity headed off in search of answers.

Charity reunited with Sarah, who told her that Jacob wasn’t coping well with the loss. Sarah reassured her that neither Jacob nor Noah had been taking drugs. Learning that Noah had taken a pint intended for Belle, Charity realised that he must have been spiked.

She questioned Chas over Jacob’s new mate Rich. Between medical updates, Charity spilled the village’s hottest gossip – that Cain had slept with Ruby.

The doctor confirmed that Noah had been spiked. As he racked his brains trying to remember what had happened, he suffered visions of another hospital room – with Joe standing over him.

The news continued to spread in Emmerdale tonight

At the Milgan home, Moira continued to have it out with Ruby. She revealed that she knew the whole story about Anthony – what he’d done to her, and what she’d done to him.

That didn’t excuse her of anything, though, and Moira demanded to know how Ruby and Cain could put her through such massive betrayal while she’d been in hospital, fighting for her life.

Caleb arrived home with his takeaway, just as Aaron arrived for a visit. The pair swapped threats as Caleb issued a warning – don’t trust Cain. He then spilled Cain and Ruby’s dirty little secret.

Steph returned home to find her parents looking sheepish and Caleb’s hand bruised. Ruby revealed the news that she’d slept with Cain. She was fuming to discover that their marriage remained solid, and took the opportunity to explode at her mum again.

In spite of doctors’ best efforts, they were unable to resuscitate Amy, and a devastated Matty was forced to look on as she died before his eyes. Kerry and Kyle returned to grave faces and the heartbreaking news that Amy was gone. In one of the rooms, Cain broke the news to Kyle.

Back at home, Cain informed Moira that Suzy, Leyla and Amy had been killed. She blamed him for her not being there in Matty’s time of need – and reiterated that their marriage was over, save for the kids.

In the Dingle home, Lydia received a visit from Eric. She’d summoned him to tell him about the car accident, breaking the news that Leyla had died. At the hospital, Pollard comforted a heartbroken Jacob.

(Badly-timed) words of comfort from Kerry weren’t of much use, and he lashed out, accusing the survivors of being more concerned with saving their own skin than Leyla’s. Ouch.

Jacob revealed his regret that Leyla died thinking he hated her, remembering his vitriolic last words. Playing her last message on his phone, Leyla’s final message to her son reverberated, providing some consolation.

She reminded him that he’d proposed to her – and revealed that she would have said no, if the car hadn’t crashed.

Nothing like a life-and-death experience to change one’s mind though, as she’d changed her mind and was ready to become Mrs. Chastity Cavanagh.

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Jacob was heartbroken over Leyla’s death and Amy’s life is in danger

Emmerdale aired a truly emotional episode tonight as Jacob Gallagher discovered his mum had died, while Liam and Amy’s lives are also in danger.

Away from the hospital, Cain confessed all to Moira about his fling with Ruby.

Here’s what happened in Emmerdale tonight, Wednesday February 19.

Jacob was heartbroken over mum’s death

The hospital was chaotic as the victims of the crash were brought in. Jacob, who was on duty at the time, was initially unaware that his mum was one of those involved in the accident.

But he soon run into Charity, who was checking on Noah. Charity told him what had happened, with Jacob rushing off in search of Leyla.

He then came across Kerry and Amy, before finding Chas and Liam. With each meeting, it became clear that Leyla was the person the paramedic had described as “dead on arrival”.

Jacob soon found a doctor standing over his mum’s body. He shouted, “Mum can you hear me? She’s still warm. Why are you just stood there? You should be trying to save her.”

In emotional scenes, Jacob broke down as he told the doctor: “You don’t know how tough she is. She wouldn’t leave me. She wouldn’t leave her son. You’re not going, I’m not letting you.”

The doctor told Jacob that Leyla was gone, but he tried to resuscitate her anyway. “You’re supposed to save people, right? Help me bring her back,” he cried.

Later, seemingly accepting that Leyla had gone, Jacob sat with his mum as he told her he was sorry that she had to die alone. “You’re too much of the life and soul to ever be on your own. I hope you know that,” he told her. Sarah soon arrived to comfort Jacob, as he broke down once again. Our hearts, sob!

Despite having a suspected broken foot, Kerry insisted on being with her daughter.

Kerry was told that her daughter Amy Barton had severe hypothermia from being submerged under water for so long. Kerry asked if they could turn the heat up, but was informed by the doctor that they had to warm her up gradually otherwise it would put too much stress on her body.

Later, Amy’s husband Matty arrived at the hospital and joined Kerry at Amy’s side where they were eager for Amy to wake up.

There were more emotional moments as Matty told an unconscious Amy: “We need you to hurry up and come back to us, all right? And Kyle. We all need you so much. I’m gonna put my foot down over this one.”

But there were scary scenes at the end of the episodes, when the machines started to flatline and Amy’s body started to shake. Doctors rushed in, as a flashback showed Amy in the water with the mystery body again.

    Chas wants to marry Liam

Liam Cavanagh was disorientated following the crash and tonight Chas was told that he had to go for a scan because his suspected head injury was worse than it looked.

The doctor said that Liam’s injury explained the changes in his behaviour and speech. Chas said it sounded bad, with the doctor confirming that it could be.

She was adamant he’d pull through though and told the doctor: “He’s a doctor by the way, so you can be straight with him. You know, when he comes round, which he will do.”

Later, Chas reiterated her belief that Liam would be OK to Charity, telling her: “Don’t ‘oh babe’ me OK? Because he’s going to be fine. And I’m going to get to give him my answer OK? I am. Because I’m gonna tell him that I do want to marry him.”

Oh we do hope so, we want a Liam and Chas wedding.

Charity was in shock (Credit: ITV)

Charity felt guilty in Emmerdale tonight

After checking in on Noah, the realisation of what had happened hit Charity.

When Mack arrived at the hospital, she asked him: “What is the matter with me Mack? Why do I keep killing people?” We have to admit, she does have quite the track record.

She later echoed these thoughts to Chas. “I was driving. Two people are dead because of me!” Will Charity face any punishment?

Cain told Moira everything (Credit: ITV)

    Cain told Moira the truth

After Caleb outed Cain for sleeping with Ruby, Cain knew he had to tell Moira before someone else did.

As he told her what happened, Moira made him repeat some of the details – such as the fact that she had been having an operation at the time. We don’t think there is any coming back from this for Cain.

Cain apologised for being “spineless”and told his wife: “I knew straightaway it was the biggest mistake I’ve ever made.” And he’s made a lot of those…

In order to stop Moira from storming round to see Ruby, Cain ended up telling Moira all about Anthony’s death and the subsequent cover-up.

It didn’t fend her off though as she rocked up at Ruby’s house anyway, where she said a classic line: “Sorry, Ruby, I’m not your husband. Then again, neither is Cain.”

Vanessa struggled over Suzy’s death (Credit: ITV)

    Elsewhere in Emmerdale tonight

Vanessa got emotional as she started to grieve for Suzy, who was the first casualty of the limo crash.

“Been sat here trying to remember the last thing I said to Suzy. Why can’t I remember? I didn’t know that all the stuff we did was for the last time,” she told Tracy, before saying: “I don’t know what I’m gonna do without her.”

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Atmospheric music, cinematic filming and gripping storylines – this episode was a triumph

Emmerdale tonight was brilliant, the action jumping between the girls trying to get out of the icy lake and Cain and Moira, Caleb and Ruby dealing with the fallout of Cain and Ruby sleeping together.

A perfectly pitched episode, featuring amazing music, fabulous camera work and brilliant performances all added up to a triumphant episode.

Here’s how Emmerdale played out tonight, Tuesday February 18.

Cain confessed and Caleb confronted Ruby

As Cain lay battered on the floor everyone told him to get himself home. Mandy insisted he needed a doctor but he told them all to just leave him.

Caleb returned home and told Ruby what he knew. She broke down and confessed it was never about Cain, it was just about her dad and hating herself and wanting to destroy herself. Caleb told her she had broke his heart.

He packed a bag, ready to leave, but Ruby told him she wasn’t giving up on them. Caleb told her he understood, she wasn’t in her right mind. He said he loved her so much and he believed Cain had taken advantage of her and used her. Caleb declared them unbreakable and they reconciled.

Meanwhile, at Butlers, Moira woke to find Cain mopping up his wounds. She soon realised something had happened when she saw his face. She wanted answers.

So Cain gathered himself, made them a cup of tea and confessed he had slept with Ruby. Will she forgive him? Is this the end of Cain and Moira? We’re devastated if so, but is there really any coming back from this?

    Who died in Emmerdale tonight?

    Amy

Back at the frozen lake, Amy was sinking deeper into the water and Tracy gallantly raced back across the ice to pull her out.

Amy then lay frozen at the water’s edge, hypothermia taking over her body.

    Leyla

They shouted for Kerry and Leyla to get out quickly as the limo was almost submerged, but Leyla revealed to Kerry the glass in her side and was barely conscious. Kerry was determined to find a way to get them both out, but with a broken foot, it wasn’t looking likely.

Kerry managed it, though, and dragged Leyla together across the ice. When the ice cracked and Kerry nearly rolled in, Vanessa risked her life to go and get Leyla to safety so Kerry could get herself out alive.

    Liam

Elsewhere, Liam was slowly fading on the banks of the lake, with Chas desperate to keep him alive.

Charity finally got signal and phoned the emergency services, begging them to help. As she surveyed the scene of the crash and all her injured friends and family, Charity mouthed she was sorry.

As the ambulances raced the injured to the hospital, Vanessa and Tracy stayed at the scene as the former broke down screaming over Suzy’s death.

Back in the ambulances, we heard the tragic news delivered over the radio that they had “one patient dead on arrival” – so which one is it?

What was the music playing in Emmerdale tonight?

So far this week, Emmerdale has been brilliant with this stunt (and that’s coming from someone who does not like soap stunts!) The way it has been shot and directed with focus purely on characters has felt cinematic.

Even the scenes away from the lake crashes – with Caleb and Ruby’s confrontation and Cain and Moira’s confession – seemed to have been shot differently to usual Emmerdale.

The backgrounds were out of focus, and all we could see were the people. This way of putting the characters front and centre felt like we were there and experiencing it with them. The emotions were all the more heightened and real.

The music meanwhile, has been incredibly fitting. The instruments playing at heightened pitches as the drama increased, covering the distressed cries of Vanessa as she mourned Suzy, was pitched just right.

It always feels more emotionally charged when music like this is played instead of hearing characters screaming in turmoil.

If you were wondering, the piece that accompanied tonight’s action was called Power-Haus by Balder (featuring Christian Reindl and Lucie Paradis). And what a powerhouse choice it was.

  • What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Suzy died, Amy sank into the ice and Caleb lashed out

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Suzy died, Amy sank into the ice and Caleb lashed out

The aftermath of the limo crash was revealed in Emmerdale tonight (Monday, February 17) as one of the limousines crashed into an icy lake. As the women battled to escape the sinking car, Vanessa was horrified to realise that Suzy had died. But even worse was to come, as Amy sank through the ice while she and the others attempted to make dry land.

Elsewhere, the boys wrestled with the implications of Caleb’s accusation. As violence broke out between the warring brothers, Paddy struggled to hold the peace. And, having spotted Noah on the road, Charity set out in search for her son.

Here’s everything that happened on tonight’s harrowing episode of Emmerdale.

The two cars crashed in Emmerdale tonight

the action picked up at the precise moment both limos were thrown off course. Caleb was driving like a maniac, having just confronted Cain over sleeping with Ruby. In the other car, Liam was proposing to Chas.

As Caleb swerved to avoid an oncoming truck (and not the other limo, as it had initially seemed), Charity spotted Noah in the middle of the road, looking confused and disheveled. She too yanked the wheel, and all hell broke loose.

Within the two cars, loose glasses (and people) were thrown in every direction. Someone’s foot smashed down on Kerry’s ankle (ouch), Suzy bashed her head (double ouch) and Mandy nearly choked on her cocktail. And then it all went black…

The girls’ limo was in peril as the boys bickered

As those within both cars regained their senses, the aftermath was revealed. The girls’ limo had come to rest in the middle of an icy lake, with the hood sinking precariously below the surface. With the door jammed by the ice, Charity began to realise the gravity of the situation.

The other car, in stark contrast, was sitting pretty at the side of the road. As Caleb confirmed that a tyre had burst, Mandy relieved her stress by cracking open another canned cocktail.

With Caleb’s accusation looming large, a confrontation between the pair beckoned. However, for the women (and Liam), it was a matter of life and death…

    Goodbye Suzy

In the sinking car, the survivors attempted to make sense of the situation. Kerry’s leg was seriously injured and Suzy was unresponsive. As Chas tried to keep those around her calm, Charity revealed that she’d seen Noah in the road.

As Vanessa and Liam determined that Suzy was no longer breathing, the limo began to sink further beneath the surface. Liam attempted to resuscitate Suzy, but was unsuccessful… and the ice crash claimed its first victim.

The women attempted to escape in Emmerdale tonight

As a panicked Tracy tried to flee, the women realised the extent of the peril they were in. They decided to make a break for it, one by one, reasoning that the ice couldn’t take more than one of them at a time. First up, Charity, who was desperate to find Noah.

Next up, Liam, who had bonked his head and was starting to act erratically. In spite of his injuries, the doctor made it safely to dry land – while those inside continued to suffer. Things weren’t looking good for Leyla, who seemed to be hiding a lot of blood under her glittery blazer.

Chas followed Liam to safety, almost succumbing to the ice as it gave way beneath her feet. Thankfully, she managed to muster the courage to crawl to safety, reuniting with Liam on the shore.

With Chas safe and sound (relatively speaking), the women convinced Vanessa to go next. Bidding Suzy a painful goodbye, she headed off to the embankment. Just in the nick of time too, as Liam took a turn for the worse.

It was Tracy’s turn next, successfully making it off the ice, where Liam had passed out and was being attended to by Vanessa. But what did this mean for Amy, Leyla and Kerry?

    Amy fell through the ice

As the three remaining women debated who should go next, Amy revealed that she and Matty were planning to adopt. Kerry and Leyla voluntold her to go next, sending her out onto the ice where she… promptly crashed through into the water.

Plunging into the icy depths, Amy bashed desperately against the ice – the flashforward’s mystery hand finally revealed. But Amy wasn’t alone beneath the water and, as she sunk to the bottom, she came face-to-face (or to hand, rather) with a dead body… and a wrist wearing a distinctive bracelet.

Amy struggled valiantly to get back to the surface but to no avail, her breath giving out as she pounded against the ice. Has the ice crash claimed its second victim?

Cain and Caleb face off in Emmerdale

Caleb lashed out at Cain in Emmerdale tonight

As the men stood outside enjoying the frosty air and atmosphere between Cain and Caleb, Mandy knocked back cocktails by herself. Matty questioned Cain over what had happened, learning that he’d cheated on Moira on the day of the operation.

While Cain struggled to justify his actions (as if he could), the other men shared their condemnation. Tempers boiled over and, as Paddy tried to keep Caleb from attacking Cain, he scored a smack in the mouth for his trouble. In the episode’s only moment of comic relief, Mandy and Bear formed a fierce tag team in Paddy’s defence. “He’s a wrestler,” Mandy declared, “and I’ve seen Kung-Fu Panda seven times.”

Mandy’s wrath wasn’t reserved purely for Caleb though; she had plenty left over for Cain. The two brothers finally had it out, and Caleb revealed that he’d tried to frame Cain for Anthony’s murder. Cain fumed on his family’s behalf – “whatever you need to do, do it to me” – and Caleb duly obliged, pummeling him to the ground while the others looked on.

Charity searched for Noah in Emmerdale tonight

In the woods, Charity searched for Noah. She found him passed out, but was unable to call for help due to lack of phone signal. She was forced to leave him behind as she took off again, in pursuit of help.

But what’s happened to Noah… and will he survive being abandoned in the woods?

  • What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Caleb went off the rails with horrifying results while Liam made a rash decision

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Caleb went off the rails with horrifying results while Liam made a rash decision

Emmerdale tonight saw a fun trip out end in disaster as the two limousines crashed in spectacular style, and one plunged into an icy lake.

But before the drama there were some fun and games and lots of plans for the future – never a good sign!

Here’s all that happened in Emmerdale tonight, Friday February 14.

Charity Dingle wearing a chaffeur's hat

    There was no limo driver

Suzy was surprised in Emmerdale tonight – and not in a good way when the limos were dropped off first thing in the morning. “You are coming back?” she begged the chaps who’d driven them to the village. But no – turned out she’d ordered the ‘car-only’ package. Which meant she needed to find two drivers – and so the stage was set for the later drama!

Emmerdale tonight: Aaron tried to warn Cain

Aaron was about to tell Cain what Caleb had been up to when he was interrupted by the man himself – along with Ruby and Steph. Steph taunted Cain about him being responsible for Anthony’s disappearance, throwing around accusations.  And Cain stomped off before Aaron got a chance to tell him.

Later in the pub Caleb and Aaron had words again as Caleb demanded to know what Aaron had done with Anthony’s tooth. Aaron told him he’d got rid of it, while Caleb warned him not to rock the boat or he’d be facing prison.

Moira quizzed Cain in Emmerdale tonight

Determined to understand why Cain had been acting so oddly, Moira demanded he assure her that he had absolutely nothing to do with Anthony’s disappearance. Cain promised her he didn’t – which was a rather deliberate bending of the truth. Moira was reassured and urged Cain to join Liam on his night out. A decision he’s probably going to regret! Meanwhile, in Emmerdale tonight, Ruby was talking Caleb into going along too. Uh-oh.

The men get in the limo
The fun began as everyone got in the cars (Credit: ITV)

    The fun began!

As the women clambered into the limos, Mandy was distracted by a very drunk Vinny being helped along the road by Sam. She decided to help her son home before she joined the party and begged the others to wait for her. And Mack was relieved when – a fairly tetchy – Caleb took over driving the men’s limo.

Liam decided to go for it

As everyone waited for Mandy to return before they set off, a pensive Liam decided he was going to propose to Chas after all. He marched over to the women’s limo – with a bit of encouragement from Paddy.

And as he got in, Paddy told Charity to drive away, bundling Mandy over to the men’s car.

Chas wasn’t overly impressed with their uninvited guest, and nor were the rest of the women! Liam settled down in the limo trying to pluck up the courage to pop the question.

    Cain was nervous

Sensing something was up with his brother, Cain was on edge. And as Sam reminisced about his dad Zak and his loyalty, Caleb got even crosser. He asked Sam to explain Dingle loyalty to him. And he added that betrayal was never acceptable.

“Ask him why he slept with my wife,” he eventually snarled.

    Emmerdale tonight: Things got dangerous!

Sam demanded to know if Caleb was telling the truth, Mack and Matty were furious and Cain assured them it meant nothing. But that didn’t help! Caleb was even angrier when Cain dismissed Ruby so easily. “She means everything to me,” he shouted. He began driving faster and faster, as Cain begged him to pull over or slow down.

But as Caleb lost control, the other limo approached. And just when Liam asked Chas to marry him, the cars collided. The passengers were thrown from their seats, drinks went flying, and one limo plunged into the frozen lake.

Who will survive the horrifying crash?
