What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Belle felt guilty after Tom was rushed to hospital, but in typical fashion he was fooling everyone

Emmerdale tonight saw news reach Belle and Jimmy that Tom King had been rushed to hospital after trying to take his own life.

Also, Kim Tate invited Dawn and her family to move back into Home Farm – but neither Billy or Will were enthused about this prospect.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight, Monday December 16.

Belle and Jimmy felt guilty in Emmerdale tonight

After a code red was declared in the prison, Belle and Jimmy King received phone calls to inform them that Tom had been rushed to hospital.

Belle and Sam met Jimmy and Amelia in the café. Belle wasn’t aware of the full story, so Jimmy informed her that Tom had tried to kill himself.

Then came a pity party as Jimmy and Amelia started to feel guilty over how they had treated Tom. “‘I hope you rot,’ that’s the last thing I said to him,” Jimmy said, while Amelia said: “All that hate and I call myself a Christian.”

Sam was having none of it though, and reminded them what Tom had done. He insisted that this changed nothing. Amelia continued to defend Tom, asking: “But how low must he have felt to want to end his life?”

Belle also felt guilty, believing she should have seen it coming as Tom had done it before. Belle said she thought it had been an act before. In a weird parallel universe, Sam appeared to be the only one with a brain and told Belle that Tom was just messing with her head again.

Amelia jumped in to say: “He could have died, Sam. No one is that sick.” That’s what you think, Amelia…

Later, Sam told Charity about the situation and said: “Could have throttled Jimmy and Amelia. I’m meant to be the thick one, but even I could see what he’s doing.”

Charity told Belle not to let Tom get inside her head again, but it seemed like it might be too late for that…

    Tom continued to be manipulative

In hospital, the doctor told Tom there will be no permanent damage and shared that a psychological assessment had been arranged.

Tom was angry when told that his next of kin had been informed. He acted embarrassed as he said: “Great, now everyone knows what I have done.” But once he was alone, he laughed. Perhaps a psychological assessment isn’t such a bad idea…

Later on, Tom’s solicitor pal Ollie asked Tom, “So this was your other way out?” Tom responded: “Desperate times call for desperate measures.”

Ollie pointed out that Tom’s knowledge of anatomy might have come in useful here. Tom said: “Well maybe if I was a dog or a rat.” If the cap fits, Tom.

Ollie told Tom he will be assessed and a psychologist will decide if he is fit to stand trial. This was music to Tom’s ears, who realised that the trial might not go ahead if he is a suicide risk. Ollie was sure that had been Tom’s plan all along. “What are you suggesting Ollie? That I did all this to somehow manipulate the system?,” asked Tom. Well, yes.

But Tom’s plan was a bit more complex than that. As Belle was shown sitting alone and looking contemplative, Tom’s voice was heard saying: “Of course, there is a chance that something like this might make Belle reconsider her actions. It would be hard for her to testify. Repeating all the vicious lies, knowing how far it’s pushed me. Something like this, it could really put things into perspective.”

Kim and Dawn talking at the hospital
Dawn was touched by Kim’s proposal (Credit: ITV)

Kim asked Dawn to move back in

Will told Kim that the renewal should just be about the two of them. “Do we even need guests?,” he said. Erm, well, yes, probably.

At the hospital, Dawn told Kim that Ewan was doing well and should be home for Christmas. This news made Kim have second thoughts about the vow renewal on Christmas Day. “Christmas is a time for children, we’ll cancel,” she told Dawn.

Dawn was having none of it though and said they needed the vow renewal to bring them back together and “bond us as a family.” So much for no guests.

Kim also suggested that Dawn, Billy and the kids move back to Home Farm. However, while Dawn was pleased, this news went down like a lead balloon with Billy, who said Home Farm was cursed. He probably has a point to be fair.

Will was also horrified when Kim casually dropped the news to him. Will this disrupt his plan to bring Kim down?

Aaron and John camping by a fire

    Aidan Moore popped up again

John arranged for he and Aaron to take a camping trip – but Aaron couldn’t have been less enthusiastic if he tried. To be fair to him, it is the middle of winter.

But when he realised how important it was to John, he agreed to go along. However, while in the forest, Aaron revealed to John that the only time he had ever done anything like that was with Gordon – his father, who abused him.

John apologised and said they could pack up and go home, but Aaron decided to stay. After Aaron went to the van to get some beers, John pulled out the infamous dog tag chain, with the name Aidan Moore on. John stroked the name, while looking deep in thought.

John had previously shared that Aidan had been his best mate who died while they were serving together in Afghanistan. But is John still hiding something?

    Elsewhere in Emmerdale tonight

Eric was short with Jimmy in the shop. The exchange was witnessed by Kerry, who told Eric he wasn’t really angry with Jimmy. “You’re angry with yourself,” she said. “When in fact, the only thing that you should be angry with is that scuzzy crypto con.” Eric wasted no time in chucking her out.

Later, Kerry tried to make amends with Eric. Upon seeing the mess at Eric’s place, she offered to clean for him. In a sexist moment, Eric revealed that Brenda had previously done all of the ‘women’s work.’ Nice.

  • What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Tom King’s end is near, but he still has a plot or two up his sleeve to walk free

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Tom King’s end is near, but he still has a plot or two up his sleeve to walk free

Emmerdale tonight saw Tom King smug as he thought he was about to walk free. But nope, his plot didn’t work. However, he has another one ready to go.

Also, Ruby continued to struggle with her dad’s presence and the rest of her family continued to ignore her obvious distress. And, Kim was overcome by Will’s grand gesture.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight, Friday December 13.

Anthony's presence is still upsetting Ruby - understandably (Credit: ITV)

Ruby’s hell continued in Emmerdale tonight

Anthony continued to taunt Ruby over her fling with Cain – and once again brought up Rob. As the family went through old Christmas decorations ready to decorate everyone was fawning over Anthony. Steph took photos, everyone was in good cheer and STILL no one noticed how uncomfortable Ruby was. Either they didn’t notice or they didn’t care.

Ruby took her father to task over putting his arm round her for the photograph. She told him not to touch her ever again, but he continued to gaslight her into thinking it was all her mother’s fault.

This man is truly vile – and certainly giving Tom King a run for his money.

Tom tried to stop the trial – and failed in Emmerdale tonight

    Angelica’s video went viral

Speaking of Tom, Angel had posted a video on social media and Lydia and Amelia were trying to hide it from Belle. But Belle had already been sent the video – as had all of the village. But it seemed in the video Angelica had turned against Tom – calling him all sorts of names and detailing everything he did to Belle. Charity knew there was something ‘off’ about it all- and she was right.

Soon Ollie was visiting Tom in prison and telling him Angelica did what Tom wanted – so the video was all his ploy. Ollie was worried the video will be traced back to them, but it looked like Tom’s plot was coming together: they have put an application into the court to stop the trial due to not being able to find an impartial jury after the video.

If Tom wasn’t a scheming scumbag before he really is now.

    Tom lost this round

He then called Angelica and laid into her about turning on him, and told her to never contact him again. Angelica realised what a monster her cousin really is. At last. But is it too little too late?

Jimmy took matters into his own hands and went back to the prison where Tom was smug. But Angelica had told Jimmy everything. He told Tom he knew him now and he knew Tom was “an abuser, a thug, a liar, a creep” and he was where he belongs. Jimmy once and for all cut ties and told Tom he hoped he rots. Yes Jimmy!

And Tom’s plot didn’t work either: the judge has rejected the application to stop the trial and it is going ahead. Although Tom insisted he would fix it and he would still make sure there was no trial, Ollie begged him to realise there was nothing they could do.

Whatever happens, we are nearly there, folks, we are nearly at the end of Tom King.

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Kim was driving miles to pick up a special turkey because she wants to make an extra effort this Christmas. Will was jumpy and then Peter arrived with a message from ‘the boss’.

Later, we saw Will suggest he and Kim renew their vows on Christmas Day. Kim was overcome with emotion and said yes. Does she really have no idea this is all a plot? Really? Queen Kim Tate all goo-goo eyed? Surely not…

  • What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Ruby’s history with her dad was exposed in upsetting scenes

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Ruby’s history with her dad was exposed in upsetting scenes

Emmerdale aired devastating flashbacks for Ruby Fox-Miligan tonight as it was revealed her father had sexually abused her as a child. The worst attack came on her 16th birthday – and possibly conceived Steph.

Elsewhere, Tom tried to manipulate Jimmy, but it didn’t work, and Moira lashed out at Cain in front of everyone, before they made up. But for how long?

Here’s everything that happened in a rather difficult-to-watch Emmerdale tonight, Thursday December 12.

Terrified Ruby as a teenager was hurt by her father (Credit: ITV)
Terrified Ruby as a teenager was hurt by her father (Credit: ITV)

The truth about Ruby and her dad was revealed in Emmerdale tonight

Ruby was looking at an old photo of her 16th birthday and had a flashback. Steph noticed a boy in the picture, Rob, was looking lovingly at her, but Ruby dismissed her. However she was still having flashbacks to her birthday that were clearly distressing her.

When Anthony arrived at the house he started talking about her sweet 16 too. Ruby was clearly uncomfortable, especially as he kept banging on about this Rob. The memories of the party continued to haunt Ruby and she recalled leading Rob up to her bedroom and her dad looking angry about it.

Ruby then went to Cain’s party and insisted a bottle of wine was the only way to celebrate. She also had a clandestine conversation with Cain that was clocked by Anthony. He got abusive with Ruby telling her she slept around and he knew all about it.

As they talked about Rob again, we flashed back to Ruby giving Rob condoms and it turned out he was gay and going to meet his boyfriend. As Anthony again accused her of sleeping with Rob on her 16th birthday, Ruby spat:”We both know exactly what happened on my 16th,” leaving Anthony looking worried.

Ruby continued flashing back to that night when Anthony had got rid of her mother and took Ruby some cake up to her bedroom. He then closed and locked the door as Ruby begged him: “Please not again, please not today.”

As we came back to the present day, Steph joked about being a ’16th birthday baby’ and Caleb stressed again she was his daughter, which made it very clear Anthony is (probably) Steph’s real dad.

It was all very grim, but all credit to Beth Cordingly whose calm, but shaky performance has us all gripped.

Tom was not giving up in Emmerdale tonight

Elsewhere, from one manipulative creep to another, Tom was causing trouble again. Jimmy was trying to make Christmas magical for Angelica, who was still banging on about her cousin. A giant inflatable Santa wasn’t going to cut it.

So Jimmy decided to do as she asked and visit Tom in prison. Tom started with an apology and admitted he was struggling Although that’s probably just another act of manipulation. Tom continued to tell Jimmy horror stories of being in prison to try and scare him into helping him.

Although Jimmy agreed to visit and give Tom a second chance, it was on the basis he changed his plea to guilty. Of course, Tom continued to blame Belle and once again lost his temper calling Jimmy an idiot.

But actually, on this occasion Jimmy wasn’t an idiot, because he left and told Tom very clearly he had burnt his last bridge.

Tom turned his manipulation back to solicitor Ollie, who admitted his defence was strong, but it all comes down to his word against Belle’s. Ollie suggested they rehearse his performance in court, but Tom wasn’t interested, instead he has another plan. Sigh. It involved Ollie going to visit Angelica and getting her to help them by posting a video online.

    Moira and Cain reunited

Cain was feeling remorseful, but Moira wasn’t really interested. However they were still continuing with Cain’s surprise party – for the sake of the kids.

At the party he just kept slipping up and Moira was still not forgiving. She made a massive scene in the pub in front of everyone before rushing out and Chas and Charity took Cain to task. They went on about him being the head of the family again and once more he made out he was just scared.

When he went to speak to Moira, she told him he needed to be there for her because she didn’t think their marriage could survive much more. Cain surprised her by saying he’d spoken to her consultant, made extensive notes and also put together a plan to cover the farm while she was having treatment. They reunited, but the Ruby secret is still hanging over him…

Will showed no signs of remorse

Kim and Will returned home from Italy. Kim was deliriously in love, Will insisted he wasn’t having second thoughts about them and they planned Paris for Valentine’s Day. So lovely and happy. Except he’s still plotting against her.

Meeting with Peter later on, Will insisted he needed it all done by Christmas. However, Peter delivered the news there had been a change of plan. He told Will the mystery third party had insisted Christmas Day was the day it would all play out. The man in question (so we know it’s a man!) is out of the country until Christmas Eve. He will contact Will when the time is right.

April is saving Ross. She brought him food and the key to Tall Trees behind Marlon’s back. Ross agreed to stay until new year.

  • What happened on Emmerdale tonight: Cain tried to confess, April learned the truth, and Anthony gloated

What happened on Emmerdale tonight: Cain tried to confess, April learned the truth, and Anthony gloated

Emmerdale tonight found Cain Dingle on the verge of confessing to wife Moira about his fling with Ruby. As he drowned his sorrows, the drunken Dingle went on a village bender before being dragged home to his furious wife.

It was then that she revealed what the doctor had actually told her yesterday – and Cain once again swallowed his own lies.

Elsewhere, Ross made a bad situation worse, Jimmy and Nicola tried to cheer Angel up, and Ruby tried to build bridges with Steph… while smug Anthony continued to gloat.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight, Wednesday December 11.

Cain hit the bottle in Emmerdale tonight

Waking up in a prison cell, Cain was greeted by a sympathetic PC Swirling. With Jai agreeing not to press charges for yesterday’s rampage, officer Swirling offered Cain a few words of wisdom along with his release.

At home, an irritable Moira told Matty how she wanted nothing to do with Cain. A text from Chas reminded her about Cain’s upcoming surprise birthday party, but she and Matty were more focused on her treatment.

Phoning the station, Moira was infuriated to learn that Cain had already been released – and gone AWOL again. She was less than sympathetic to Swirling’s worries that Cain is ‘struggling,’ too.

But, after unveiling plans for a fifty-candle cake for Cain, Isaac had Moira doubting herself… the party’s back on!

Meanwhile, in the pub, Cain hit the bottle with a large whiskey. Nagging Chas and Mack both told him to go home and make up to his wife.

    Moira told Cain the truth

Instead of going home, Cain headed to the allotment. There, he set about pounding beers by himself. It was there that he was found by Liam, who was worried to hear that his friend hadn’t been home yet.

Hauling Cain home (and apparently leaving three unopened beers at the wayside!), Liam dropped the drunken Dingle off, where he was full of (slurred) apologies. Moira ruined the surprise element of his upcoming party, warning him that he needed to get his act together for the kids’ sake.

“There’s something I need to tell you,” he responded, his guilt weighing heavy.

And, on the verge of confessing, he was shocked to learn that Moira still needs radiotherapy for a tumour that could yet come back.

She then informed him that, as he couldn’t be trusted, she’d face the rest of her treatment alone. Well done, Cain.

April learned the truth about her mum’s death

Ross started the morning by vomiting up the bottle of vodka he’d confiscated from April. Finding him in his car, she was appropriately grossed out by his current living situation. When he told her how he was planning on leaving the village, the youth beseeched that he stay and teach her more about her mother.

Reluctantly, Ross agreed. Over lunch at the Hide, he fielded some difficult questions about mum Donna.

However, Ross’s excuses for Donna’s death didn’t sit right with April. And, as he kept digging himself into a hole, April learned how her mum had actually died trying to protect her. Talk about making a bad situation worse. And presumably the pizzas went to waste too, along with Cain’s tinnies.

    A visit from Anthony

Anthony popped around to see Ruby and Caleb with an apology for the day before. Describing himself as an ‘overprotective dad,’ he managed to smooth things over – while Steph volunteered her mum to make a coffee for Anthony.

She also had Ruby score an invite for Anthony to Cain’s birthday party before flouncing out to work. Alone together, the atmosphere turned frosty – while Anthony tried to reassure her that he planned on staying out of her business in future.

Later, she attempted to build bridges with Steph. A tearful Ruby apologised for Steph’s rough upbringing, reassuring her that she’d always loved her.

Outside, she informed Anthony that she’d sorted his invite to Cain’s party. As Anthony reiterated his hope that they could move on from the past – “things that are usually buried for a reason” – Ruby swallowed her obvious pain.

“Positivity at last,” laughed a smug Anthony. “Be a terrible shame to let anything ruin it.”

Ominous… but what are they both sweeping under the rug?

Jimmy and Nicola got festive in Emmerdale tonight

Jimmy was feeling regretful at having torn up Tom’s letter. As Nicola attempted to draw him out of his funk, he suggested that they channel Angel’s energy into something other than Tom – Christmas, for example.

Later, as the family set about decorating the house, Angel appeared to show signs of lightening up. However, her festive mood was short-lived – furtively hiding an incoming call from Hotten Prison and, presumably, dear uncle Tom.

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Moira told Cain not to come home after he was arrested

Emmerdale tonight saw Cain let Moira down as he continued to wallow in his own guilt. And Moira got more bad news from her consultant.

Meanwhile, April was still not in a forgiving mood and Ross made things worse, and Anthony was on the warpath.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight, Tuesday December 10.

Cain let Moira down in Emmerdale tonight

Moira was waiting (impatiently) for Cain at the hospital with Matty by her side. Moira insisted Cain would be there and sent Matty back to the farm. But back in the village, Cain had no intention of going and was stomping around the garage.

Liam caught him and tried to talk some sense into his friend. Cain fed him some nonsense about being scared, but Liam told him to stop being a coward. At last Cain realised he had to get there, especially when Moira left him a tearful voice message saying she was scared and the consultant couldn’t wait any longer to see her.

Cain rushed off – smashing Jai’s car on his way as it was blocking him in – and then he was pulled over by the police. PC Swirling told him Jai had complained and as Cain got shirty, he was arrested for criminal damage and assaulting a police officer. Oh Cain.

In his cell Cain was banging and shouting, begging to talk to Moira. PC Swirling gave Cain some sympathy and did eventually let him use a mobile phone. Cain confessed what had happened and Moira was upset and angry – she shouted she was fine and he wasn’t welcome back home.

She then tearfully confessed to Matty she had to have radiotherapy because they think there’s a chance it can come back. Cain has really mess up this time, but can he ever make this up to her?

    April on a downward spiral

Marlon and Rhona were trying to make things right with April, but she was not having any of it. She immediately went to see Ross and it came out that Marlon, Caleb, Charity and Jai had tried to set Ross up. That obviously made April even angrier.

And there was Mack making more snidey comments when he should really just shut up.

Marlon once again tried to talk to April about everything. He insisted he just was trying to protect his daughter and it had been wrong trying to set Ross up. April soon brushed him away and half-heartedly forgave him. But does she really mean it?

Nope! Because she grabbed a bottle of vodka and went to Donna’s grave where she angrily let rip at her mum. Ross found her and tried to talk her down.

Later Ross saw Mack and Moses together and realised what a close bond they have. It upset him and he hit the vodka he’d confiscated off April.

    Ruby shocked Anthony

Anthony summoned Caleb over and wanted answers over his affair with Tracy. Caleb was not interested in listening to any of Anthony’s questions and threatened him with violence.

Anthony soon told Ruby what Caleb had said – and that he knew about Tracy. Ruby shot her father’s concerns down and insisted her marriage was fine. He begged her to leave Caleb, but she silenced him by telling him she also slept around.

    Jimmy laid down the law

Jimmy read Tom’s letter and Angelica was hopeful her dad would support Tom now. But Jimmy tore it up, told Angel it was all manipulation and she was not to go near or contact Tom ever again. She stropped off. And we guess she probably will go near Tom again before the week is out…

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Moses cut ties with Ross and Anthony discovered Caleb’s affair

In Emmerdale tonight, Ross continued to get on the wrong side of everybody and discovered that son Moses is scared of him.

Meanwhile, Anthony found out about son-in-law Caleb’s past affair with Tracy and wasn’t best pleased.

Here’s what happened in Emmerdale tonight (Monday, December 9.)

Caleb and Charity, Marlon talking in the pub

    Caleb’s plan went wrong

Ross was on operation wind up Caleb duty again in tonight’s episode. As Ruby and Caleb sat eating breaking, Ross strolled down stairs and asked about coffee. “Can no wake up without my coffee,” he said.

When Caleb asked why he was there, Ross responded,  “Oh did Steph not tell you about our sleepover?” He then stripped off the dressing after Caleb pointed out that it was his. And let’s be honest, the only one complaining was Caleb…

Later, Ross received a message from Jade wanting her £3,000. Jai told Ross that he and Caleb were going to a meeting and Steph was taking the other staff on a team building trip, the the depot would be empty – and there was £20k in the safe that Ross could help himself to.

Jai met with Caleb and told him that Ross had taken the bait. Caleb then proceeded to tell Marlon and Charity, who equally detest Ross, of his plan, and added that Ross thinks the CCTV is down, but it’s not.

Caleb’s plan was to catch Ross stealing the money, then use the footage to drive him out of the village, but would it be that simple? Well, no, because Ross wasn’t born yesterday.

When Caleb logged into the CCTV, he was greeted with a sign in the depot which read “nice try idiots.” Ross then walked in and said: “As if I was going to fall for a sting like that? Who puts 20 grand in a safe and brags about it.”

To rub salt into Caleb’s wounds, Ross informed him that he had disabled most of the CCTV himself and one of his vans might be missing…

Emmerdale tonight: Moses told his dad to go away

After Moses witnessed Ross’s attack on Mack, Ross decided to go see his son and make amends. However, he was about as welcome as root canal treatment.

Charity and Mack didn’t want Ross there and even Moses told him to “go away.” Ross attempted to apologise to his son, but Moses was visibly scared.

Ross told Moses he would never hurt him, with Mack quipping: “Other than that time you nearly fired a shotgun at him.” Moses then told his dad he was a bully and run off, leaving Ross feeling defeated.

    Brenda and Anthony talking

    Anthony discovered Caleb’s affair

Ruby’s dad Anthony seemed to spend the episode going from business to business and not doing much at all, but he didn’t manage to find out about Caleb’s affair with Tracy.

In David’s shop, Anthony overheard Tracy on the phone trying to arrange childcare. When Anthony enquired about her stress, she admitted that Frankie’s dad had run off to Shetland leaving her a single mum.

Anthony felt sorry for Tracy, though he was confused when his daughter Ruby came in and was immediately rude to Tracy.

Later, Anthony changed his hang out place of choice to the cafe. And as luck might have it, Tracy was there. After she left, it gave Anthony the opportunity to mention to Brenda that it must be hard being a single mother. Brenda was quick to respond that it was her own fault for playing away with Caleb.

When it became clear that this was new information to Anthony, Brenda quickly regretted opening her mouth. But time travel hasn’t been invented yet, so there’s no getting out of this one. What will Anthony do with this information?

Cain continued to do everything in order to avoid spending time with Moira. Moira believed it was because he was being a helpful husband and doing all the jobs so she can rest. But really, Cain is being eaten up by guilt.

When Moira sings Cain’s praises, Matty responded: “He’s putting you first, mum. Not all husbands would do that.” If only they knew…

Later, Caleb and Ruby arrived with flowers and chocolate for Moira. Cain couldn’t get out of there fast enough, and invented a story about needing to go to Dudley for a car.

When Matty returned, Moira was listening to the song Somewhere In My Heart at full volume. After she turned it down, she told Matty: “This song is very special to me and Cain.” She then told Matty that she wanted to surprise Cain with a party to thank him for all his support.

Meanwhile, Cain was shown parked up in his van, with the same song playing on the radio (Cute!). Still feeling guilty, he sent Moira a message to say he would be stuck in Dudley overnight. Will Cain end up admitting the truth?

    Elsewhere in Emmerdale tonight

Ross revealed to Marlon that April had been kidnapped, thinking that he already knew. Marlon later spoke to April about it, who proceeded to defend Ross – you’re the only one, April!

Brenda put Jimmy in his place and had us giggling when she told him: “Typical Jimmy, washing your hands of a difficult decision.” Because let’s be honest, Jimmy probably has splinters from all those fences he sits on.

Speaking of Jimmy, Angel spoke to him about Tom, telling him Tom was all alone and Jimmy should go see to him.

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Steph’s real dad was ‘exposed’ and Ross is public enemy No.1

Emmerdale tonight saw Anthony reveal ‘the truth’ about Steph’s dad – flooring Ruby. But is he right?

Meanwhile, Ross made enemies of everyone in the village, who decided it was high time something was done about him.

Here’s a rundown of Emmerdale tonight, Friday December 6.

Anthony dropped a bombshell about Steph’s real dad in Emmerdale tonight

Anthony was checking out of the B&B – for definite, he assured Bob. But Ruby stopped him and told him although she wouldn’t forgive him, said he could stay.

Steph invited him for dinner and Ruby was forced to pretend everything was fine. But it’s absolutely not and we can’t understand why no one else can see that!

Meanwhile Ross was having a bad day (more on that below) and had decided to drown his sorrows with Steph. Caleb then went out to get brandy, meaning Ruby and Anthony were left alone.

At that point Anthony’s demeanour changed and he started asking questions about Rob – and dropped the bombshell he always believed Rob was Steph’s real father. So is this mystery man really the dad? Ruby looked shocked, but is Anthony right? And is her fear because she’s worried her dad will expose her to Caleb?

    Ross kicked out

Cain had had enough and threw Ross out – literally – after what he’d done to Mackenzie.

Meanwhile, Mack was feeling sorry for himself, but Charity refused to give him sympathy. Ross then burst in and wanted to see Moses, but Charity threw him out too. She later even threatened Ross with social services.

    April furious at Marlon

Elsewhere, April was still upset and Marlon wanted to get to the bottom of it. April confided in Arthur that she feels like her mum didn’t love her and she has lost Donna all over again. Arthur advised her to tell her dad the truth.

When Marlon got home, he found April upset again – and skipping school again. April confessed what she had learned about Donna. But Marlon slipped up when April realised he had always known the truth.

With April raging at her dad for lying to her, Marlon turned his blame to Ross. He wants him gone…

A plan to rid Emmerdale of Ross

So Ross has now upset half the village and Charity, Marlon and Caleb came together to do something about him. But what will the three of them do to get rid of him for good?

    Moira returned in Emmerdale tonight

Cain was still not coping when Moira strolled in as if she’d been on holiday rather than in hospital having brain surgery. She was looking pretty radiant and there was not a hair out of place on her head!

She later recounted everything to Cain that had happened with Holly during the operation and tearfully told him she had chosen him and the boys. But Cain couldn’t contain his own guilt in the moment – although he covered with Moira that it was his grief over Zak.

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Brenda will not forgive Eric and told him her decision was final.

And, Mary’s back! At last. Goodness knows where she’s been, but she is back and was every bit as fierce as ever when she backed Charity in the Woolpack and stood up to scary Ross Barton. Love her. More Mary please.

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: April found out the truth about her mum’s death and there was a sad break-up

In Emmerdale tonight there was devastation for April after she was kidnapped, held over the roof of a multistory carpark and then found out the truth about her mum’s death.

Also, Ruby was faced with an impossible choice, and Brenda realised she had no future with Eric.

Here’s what happened in Emmerdale tonight, Thursday December 5.

Things got really bad for Ross and April

    April was kidnapped

Marlon wouldn’t let April go into Hotten after school shopping. Lucky, then, that Jade pulled up to provide a lift to school and a friendly listening ear.

Jade then called Ross with a video of April tied up in the boot of the car. Ross sped off in Billy’s car who warned him he couldn’t go anywhere without a plan. Billy caught up with Mack and Aaron and told them what was going on and Mack came to his senses and realised exactly what his actions have caused.

    Memories of Donna haunted Ross

As Ross arrived at the multistory carpark where Donna died when she jumped over the edge while handcuffed to a criminal, Jade told Ross she had specifically picked the spot because of Donna and he had horrific flashbacks.

April screamed as she was held over the edge by Jade’s henchman. But Ross was frozen to the spot.

Coming to, Ross tried to talk Jade round, but she was clear: the money in exchange for April’s life.

And then along came Aaron and Mackenzie who saved the day by giving Jade her money back. Well, £7000 and change. Which obviously isn’t the £10k she wanted and she still wants Ross to pay it back. Jade is going away for a few days, but wants her £3k.

April found out the truth about her mum

Ross took April and left, but he made the mistake of saying he wasn’t going to let it happen again. April immediately picked up on it and confronted him.

He confessed he had been there when Donna died. He then told April her mum had jumped over the wall and April was devastated. She knew Donna could have stayed with her for longer, but she sacrificed their time together to catch a criminal.

At home Marlon tried to get through to April, who was sobbing, but she didn’t tell him what was really wrong.

Meanwhile, Ross gave Mackenzie a beating. And when Charity stepped in, he pushed her over too. And then Ross ended up being the bad guy when Moses was watching and begged his dad to stop. Charity told Ross he would never see his son again.

Ruby given a choice in Emmerdale tonight

Ruby was still trying to tell Caleb how distressed she is by her dad’s presence. She begged him to stand by her side and understand what she needs. Caleb promised he would. He then confronted Anthony in the street and told him he would always back Ruby, so Anthony decided to leave again. Only Steph caught him and stopped him. She decided to go with him and he promised to stay one more night so she could pack up.

Meanwhile Caleb realised that Anthony’s departure would affect their relationship with Steph. So he tried to talk to Ruby again. And she cracked open another bottle of wine. As she ranted about how much she hated her father and she didn’t care if he died, Steph walked in and told her they would never see her again if they cut Anthony out.

Caleb was furious that Ruby was ‘choosing’ to let Steph walk out of their lives. Ruby insisted she wasn’t choosing, this was not a choice, she couldn’t have her dad in her life. And Caleb still clearly couldn’t see how distressed she was and told her she had to accept Anthony so they could keep Steph. Here’s an idea, Caleb, trying realising your wife is going through something huge rather than shouting at her.

A break-up for Eric and Brenda in Emmerdale tonight

Eric and Brenda were very awkward with each other, but he thought flowers would make it up to her. She was not impressed given they didn’t have money for flowers.

He then set up Champagne and a huge food spread in the shop and invited Brenda over. Eric got down on knee again and promised he wasn’t being impulsive, he genuinely wanted her to marry him.

Liam walked in mid-proposal to get some milk and the situation became very uncomfortable. Once Liam had gone, Brenda tearfully told him her answer was no.

Brenda said she needed to find out who she was again. She then ended their relationship because too much has happened. Is there any way back for them?

    Angelica fought Tom’s corner

Tom sent Jimmy a letter, who put it in the bin much to Angelica’s disgust. Jimmy and Nicola tried to talk some sense into her, but Angelica continued to fight Tom’s corner insisting Tom is still family.

Angelica seemed to think Tom wasn’t as bad as her because she killed someone and he never killed Belle. Can her parents make her see sense?

Jai was unsuccessful at manifesting success

Jai was listening to success podcasts and manifesting ‘success’ for himself. But he found Ross lurking in the office having overheard him. Ross wanted to do another van theft. But Jai – with success clearly in mind – said no.

  • What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Ruby in distress over her dad and Ross feared for Moses

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Ruby in distress over her dad and Ross feared for Moses

Emmerdale tonight saw distressing scenes for Ruby Fox-Miligan as she had a panic attack after being all-but forced to forgive her dad for their past history. So what did happen between them?

Meanwhile, Ross realised Jade’s threats were serious, but he raced to rescue the wrong person, and Bob gave Pollard some advice.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale on Wednesday December 4.

Ruby’s terror over her dad was evident in Emmerdale tonight

Steph tried to get Caleb onside in fighting Anthony’s corner to Ruby. They invited Anthony over and Ruby was not happy at all. But everyone took Anthony’s side and Ruby was forced to agree to a cup of tea. Though she sat in complete silence and looked incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. Especially when they opened the memory box.

Anthony then launched into a speech apologising and blaming her mother for everything. He spoke about how close he and Ruby had been (just how close, eh?). He seemed genuine to everyone around them, but Ruby could not cope with the apology. She did not accept it.

She then agreed to put the past in the past, but her happy cheerful exterior was all an act. She excused herself and had a panic attack outside. It’s very clear Ruby is hiding something huge here – and her animosity towards her dad runs very deep. She almost looked scared of him…

    Ross was desperate for cash

Ross tried to hit Steph up for cash. But he then summoned Mackenzie, Billy, Aaron and John to Aaron’s flat to find out who had stole Jade’s money. Suspicion fell on Billy with Ross sure he must have taken it. But Billy denied it and stormed out.

When they were alone Aaron confronted Mack – he knew he had taken the money. Mack wasn’t exactly doing a good job of hiding his glee over getting away with it so far. Aaron said he’d keep quiet for a cut.

Meanwhile, Jade and her fancy curly hair and clothes, were having coffee at the café. She reminded Ross again he needed to get the cash – and chatted to April just to annoy him.

Ross went to see Charity and told her what was going on. He suggested she take Moses away for a few days. But Charity refused to be driven out of her home.

And it turned out Jade’s attention wasn’t on Moses after all – she was having coffee with April.

Pollard wasn’t budging in Emmerdale tonight

Eric wanted to take Brenda for lunch – but she reminded him they didn’t have any money. He was trying to find any way possible not to have to sell the shop. Although Brenda insisted he had, Pollard was secretly telling any interested parties the shop was not for sale.

Brenda later confided in Bob, but when she all-but confessed she was only staying with Eric because of his Parkinson’s, Bob was horrified.

He went to advise Pollard he needed to sell the shop as it was his only hope of keeping Brenda.

    Angelica fought for Tom

Angelica was impatiently waiting for another call from Tom when Belle arrived. She broke the news to Nicola that Tom has pleaded not guilty.

Angelica spoke to Tom again later, who manipulated her to get Jimmy back on side to testify for him. Tom pretended he didn’t want to get her involved, but really he absolutely wanted did want to involve her and seemed very glad when it worked.

    Bob’s fashion mistake

Bob’s coat is not the one. It looks a bit like it should belong to Wendy rather than him. But he seems happy in it. And maybe it’s really warm for those cold, cold Dales nights.

  • What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Smug Tom got a win and Pollard devastated Brenda multiple times

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Smug Tom got a win and Pollard devastated Brenda multiple times

Emmerdale tonight saw Brenda Walker left distraught over and over again by Eric Pollard as he finally accepted he’d been scammed. And then she made a big decision about their future.

Meanwhile, Tom was smug when he called Angelica and realised she was on his side. How will he use this to his advantage?

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight.

Brenda stood by Pollard – despite him breaking her heart in Emmerdale tonight

Brenda had decided they were in this together, but Eric was still kidding himself that he could sort it all out. He soon realised he couldn’t when he found out his advisor’s number was no longer in service. They have been scammed. And the police can’t do anything because Pollard invested the money of his own free will.

Brenda was devastated, especially as Eric tried to placate her by saying at least they had a roof over their heads. But Brenda pointed out the deeds were in his name and everything she has worked all her life for was gone.

Knowing he needs to make it right, Pollard decided his only resort was to sell the shop. But Brenda was more concerned with whether he only proposed because he was hyped up on his meds and Eric confessed that was very possible. She was once again distraught.

But later she insisted she was not leaving and she would support him every step of the way through his Parkinson’s. Although as Brenda is actually leaving, we all know that isn’t going to happen!

Tom won Angelica over in Emmerdale tonight

Angelica was heading back to school and all was happy in the King household now Tom was out of their lives. But Angel insisted Tom was still family.

Tom phoned home and discovered he was calling Angelica and not his uncle Jimmy. But he was also relieved to hear Angel was on his side as he reeled her in and told her they would keep speaking. Smug Tom was filled with glee when he realised he had someone else to manipulate.

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

    Caleb took Anthony’s side

Ross and Steph got flirty in the Hide, but then Anthony arrived. Steph decided to fight his corner with Ruby again after she learned Ruby was ignoring Anthony. Anthony then managed to manipulate Caleb into taking his side too.

Steph and Caleb confronted Ruby (who was making her own Christmas wreath – not sure this is something Ruby would do), who was most hurt by her husband’s interference.

Ross was under pressure – as Mack gloated

Ross went to see Charity, but encountered Mack instead. He wanted to pick Moses up after school and take him for a burger. But it turns out Moses has a VERY active after school social calendar with a birthday party and then bowling and then a sleepover at a mate’s.

Mack smugly told him he and Charity would be spoiling Moses this Christmas – but Ross still has no idea exactly how Mack got the money. Meanwhile, Mack splashed the cash on Charity’s Christmas presents wanting to spoil her rotten.

Elsewhere, Ross was feeling the pressure when both April and Jade rounded on him in the pub. April wanted to know why he’d ignored her since he’d been home and Jade wanted answers over her missing money.

Cut to Mack giving the cash to Amy for Chloe and Reuben. But he doesn’t want to see any pictures or know anything because it’s too hard being apart from his son. Probably should have remembered he had one, then shouldn’t he?
