John preparing to kill multiple villagers, new fan theory predicts

A new Emmerdale fan theory has predicted that John Sugden is preparing to kill multiple villagers. This comes amid fan speculation that the former soldier is secretly a serial killer plotting his next move.

He and Aaron have spent the week tidying up after Anthony’s death – with Aaron left shouldering the blame after apparently beating the resident monster to death.

Supportive boyfriend John leapt into action, tidying up the crime scene and disposing of Anthony’s body.

To many, John’s coolness under pressure seemed mighty suspect – taking Anthony’s death and the subsequent clean-up in his stride.

John preparing to kill several villagers, predict Emmerdale fans

Writing on X this week, one fan shared their theory that John is a ‘psychopath’ biding his time until he kills again.

“John is definitely a closet psychopath. It’s just a matter of time until he starts killing off the villagers, and there’s plenty to choose from,” this fan suggested.

Meanwhile, speculation is abound that John is set to strike again. And a number of names are already being thrown around. Bad news, then, for Manpreet – who’s high on the list of potential victims.

Who will ‘killer’ John murder next?

“John is making this a lot harder than it needed to be, and now Manpreet is on his psycho radar,” said one fan on X, as Manpreet began to grow suspicious of John and Aaron’s activity in the garage.

“Aaron crying again. John will be taking him out at this rate, and not in a nice way,” said another, suggesting that Aaron might be next.

With fans speculating that John has killed before – including the popular theories that he already murdered Nate and finished off Anthony. With the red flags racking up, John has some way to go to clear his name.

    Is he a killer?

What exactly is Caleb Miligan International in Emmerdale? New business explained

In Emmerdale news, as Caleb Miligan International continues to be at the centre of storylines, here’s an explanation of what exactly the new business is.

Over the last lot of months, Caleb has been running his new business. And it has become quite a frequent set on the show.

Despite the company only officially launching on November 15, it is already getting quite a lot of screen time. And has already been the home of a murder.

But just because it’s on our screens more doesn’t mean fans know what the firm actually is. So here’s a look at what exactly Caleb Miligan International is.

    Caleb looking worried in Emmerdale

What is Caleb Miligan International and who works at the business?

Caleb Miligan International is described as a worldwide logistics business and shipping company that Caleb was very desperate to get set up this year.

Currently Caleb is the owner of the business, and has final say on all of the decisions (probably why it’s named fully after him.) Steph is another shareholder and Jai thought he was, but Caleb double-crossed him. Jai is now the depot manager.

Billy and Kerry both also work in the Depot as a packer and a cleaner. And before he died, Will was the firm’s driver.

While it’s not been open that long, it’s clear that it is doing well. And the team even have customised jackets with the business name on it.

After Caleb’s war with Kim Tate, he decided he needed to start his own empire right beside hers. And as Kim had just got Longbrook Private Hire burned down – Caleb had the insurance money.

Emmerdale news: The history of Caleb’s new business

But, Caleb knew he would need even more funds to set the business up. So when he was contacted by Ruby’s dying mum, he agrees to bring Ruby to see her for £100k. However, Helen died the day he got the money.

Then in November, Caleb tried to takeover Home James Haulage to help him with the shipping aspect. But Jimmy was adamant he wouldn’t sell.

Instead, Will Taylor sold Caleb his share, and he began to help him get Jimmy on side. But when Jimmy heard about Caleb’s shipping Depot plan, he knew if he refused to sell, then he got more money too.

Jimmy wasn’t the only one Caleb tried to trick into helping him progress the firm. He got Jai Sharma to transfer all of his money to an offshore account. Which he then used to fund the Depot.

When he finally got it opened in November, he informed Jai that he had no financial stake or claim in the business. But after back and forth, Jai joined in a managerial role. However, Steph managed to convince Caleb to make her a partner in the business, and he did so.

With the shipping Depot giving viewers a whole new set, it looks like it’s going to be sticking around for a while.

  • Opinion: ‘Too much of a good thing’ – Emmerdale needs to limit flashbacks and special episodes before they lose effect

Opinion: ‘Too much of a good thing’ – Emmerdale needs to limit flashbacks and special episodes before they lose effect

Emmerdale has recently been airing a fair few special, ‘one-off format’ episodes over the course of the last year.

We’ve seen episodes focus on Belle and Tom’s abuse storyline as well as flashbacks to Ruby’s abuse at the hands of Anthony.

With another special episode on the way, as well as flashbacks to Anthony’s death appearing on screen, the soap runs the risk of having too much of a good thing.

Emmerdale special episodes over the last year

Over the last year, the soap has aired several special episodes. We’ve seen Belle and Tom’s abuse storyline have a couple of special episodes including a dinner party from Hell and also an hour-long episode which showed the jury decide on Tom’s fate.

We’ve also had more recent special episodes focus solely on Moira’s brain surgery, and Jacob’s first day on placement in A&E.

One special episode included several flashbacks to Ruby Fox-Miligan’s 16th birthday. This revealed that her dad Anthony sexually abused her. It was later revealed that he was the biological father of Steph.

This week, changes to the usual format have also aired as John experiences flashbacks to Anthony’s death. His death was actually teased in flashforwards at the beginning of last week… So much time jumping, right?

We’ve also (yes there’s more) had five flash forward scenes given to use at the very beginning of the New Year. This teased what’s to come in 2025.

And there’s also another special episode next week. The truth about what really happened to missing April Windsor is finally revealed. Right, now we can catch a breath.

Emmerdale's April is in a slum
It’s not ‘special’ if it becomes the norm (Credit: ITV)

Opinion: Special episodes and flashbacks should be used sparingly

As you can see, there have been a lot of ‘special’ episodes recently. But, we can’t help but feel as though these episodes lose their special meaning if they happen so often.

‘Special’ episodes should be used sparingly so that we’re all excited at a rare break to the format rather than thinking ‘not another one…’

There is no denying that when Emmerdale does do a special episode, it’s executed really well. These episodes give an insight into major events. And, they help shed light on some really important issues and topics.

But, having so many special episodes or special features (whether that be flashbacks or flashforwards) runs the risk of losing the impact the episodes should have.

It almost seems like the soap will consist of more special episodes than the usual, daily episodes that make it a soap soon if the pattern keeps continuing.

Soaps are soaps and not Hollywood movies after all! We’re not saying we want all special aspects to be scrapped… But, they could just be used here and there to really provide that WOW factor.

  • Is Manpreet the next to die? Emmerdale fans fear John is out to kill her

Is Manpreet the next to die? Emmerdale fans fear John is out to kill her

In Emmerdale John Sugden has become increasingly suspicious. And fans fear they know who his next target is.

When Aaron and John realised that Anthony was dead after Aaron’s brutal beating, John immediately began covering it up for his boyfriend. But some fans think he may have actually had more to do with it than Aaron knows.

The pair managed to get rid of all of Anthony’s belongings, and conveniently Cain decided to close the garage for a few days. This meant they finally had a secure place to store Anthony’s car while Aaron stripped it apart. But just when they thought nobody would be able to place them there, Manpreet heard them outside.

Aaron and John standing together in Emmerdale

    John is suspicious

In a shock ending to last night’s episode (January 28), Manpreet turned her light on and looked outside just after Aaron and John spoke about how they were free of any evidence.

The couple had ensured no strings were left. Even when John spotted the tooth laying on the ground in the Depot, that managed to get sorted (Thanks to Kerry’s vacuum). So this shock ending has fans wondering if Manpreet actually heard what they spoke about. And they worry for her safety from John if she did.

Viewers have never trusted John. They are convinced he’s lying about something. We just aren’t completely sure what yet. But with the way he knew how to dispose of a body – it certaintly looked like he had done it before.

Fans are now convinced that if (or when) John realises Manpreet may have spotted them, she will be his next target.

Will John kill Manpreet in Emmerdale?

One wrote on X: “Manpreet is going to put herself in the firing line of psycho John.”

Another agreed: “Manpreet will be the next one to be bumped off by John.”

A third reminded everyone that if something does happen to Manpreet, there’s someone who could return and get revenge; Meena.

They commented: “John if you lay a finger on Manpreet then Meena will come for you.”

Exactly what Manpreet saw or heard is unknown, but it’s not looking good for her if she gets John or Aaron in trouble. And with fans predicting a romance between her and Bob, could it be over before it begins?

  • Amy to kidnap Frankie, Emmerdale fan theory predicts

Amy to kidnap Frankie, Emmerdale fan theory predicts

As Amy in Emmerdale has suddenly decided she wants another child, fans have predicted a sinister twist for her and Frankie.

In last night’s episode (January 28), Amy opened up to Moira about how she wants another baby. Her decision was made when she spent time babysitting Tracy’s daughter, Frankie.

Tracy and Amy don’t have the best relationship, ever since Amy was responsible for Tracy’s dad’s death. But last night saw the pair move on as Amy offered to help her with childcare. But viewers couldn’t help but notice just how clingy she was becoming to Frankie.

Fans worry about Amy’s attachment to Frankie (Credit: ITV)

Amy in Emmerdale to kidnap Frankie?

Amy was upset when speaking to Moira, admitting she missed out on all of the childhood things with her son, Kyle.

When Kyle was born, Amy put him up for adoption. And for quite some years, he wasn’t in her life.

But since Kyle came back, he seems to spend more time with his dad, Cain, than he does Amy. And she has decided she wants to be a proper mum.

After she was done looking after Frankie, Amy kept making a point of saying she wants a daughter. And she repeatedly spoke about how much fun it was.

We know she brings the topic of kids up to Matty, and he doesn’t have the best reaction. So will that spur Amy to make a rash and sinister decision? Fans are now predicting she might kidnap little Frankie.

Taking to X, one fan wrote: “Amy is giving weird vibes. She’s not going to kidnap Frankie is she?”

Another penned: “Why is Amy being so creepy over that kid?”

Amy babysits Frankie at the cafe in Emmerdale
Will Amy kidnap Frankie? (Credit: ITV)

    Amy’s kidnapping history

It wouldn’t be the first time that Amy has considered kidnapping a child. Years ago, when she decided Kyle’s adoption was a mistake, she tried to take him and go on the run.

At the time, Amy was refused access to Kyle by his adoptive grandmother Joanie, and so she decided to take the matters into her own hands.

But Cain managed to persuade her out of it, and she gave Kyle back.

So could history be set to repeat itself? And when Amy realises Matty isn’t on board, will she take drastic measures to get a daughter?

  • Aaron spirals after Anthony’s death in Emmerdale as fans fear a self-harm relapse

Aaron spirals after Anthony’s death in Emmerdale as fans fear a self-harm relapse

Aaron Dingle is spiralling down into self harm again in Emmerdale, after the death of Anthony Fox and his guilt over what happened. Aaron thinks he killed abuser Anthony – though we’re not sure he’s the one to blame – and he’s struggling to cope.

We’ve seen Aaron return to obsessive exercising and we’ve got an inkling that he could be about to head into a self-harm nightmare.

And that’s because we’ve seen this before – more than once in fact. Fans have also noticed Aaron’s struggles, with one commenting: “I have a bad feeling that the guilt of thinking that he killed Anthony will make Aaron selfharm again.”

Another agreed: “Please no self-harm relapse for Aaron! Whatever you do Emmerdale, don’t go down that road. He’s suffered ENOUGH!”

Aaron in selfharm mode is heartbreaking,” added one more.

Here’s the background to Aaron’s history of self-harm.

Aaron Dingle and the death of Jackson

Aaron struggled after the death of his boyfriend, Jackson. Jackson had been paralysed in an accident and wanted to end his life, despite the best efforts of his mum Hazel, and Aaron. They tried to convince Jackson that life was worth living, but in the end they couldn’t change his mind.

Due to Jackson’s injuries, he couldn’t take the drugs to end his life himself. Hazel planned to help her son, but when it came to it, she couldn’t go through with it and so Aaron was the one who gave Jackson the fatal dose.

After Jackson died, Aaron began hurting himself. He cut his hand on a gravestone, and on a razor. He deliberately banged his head on the wall, among other things.

Aaron starts to self-harm in Emmerdale after his dad returned

When Aaron first fell for Robert, it was a tricky time. Robert was engaged to Chrissie White, and their secret romance made things hard for Aaron.

But things got worse as Aaron served a short stint in prison after being wrongly accused of shooting Robert, and then he found out his mum Chas was dating his dad Gordon again.

Aaron had been raped by Gordon as a child and couldn’t handle Chas being with him. He started self-harming again, running miles until he was sick, and burning his arm with candles.

Cain found him hurting himself and offered support, but with such a lot of trauma in his life, Aaron couldn’t stop.

As he dealt with revealing Gordon’s abuse and his father going on trial, Aaron continued to self-harm.

    Robert’s affair with Rebecca

Aaron hadn’t quite managed to tackle his self-harming issue, when he found out Robert had fathered a baby with his former sister-in-law, Rebecca. Seb was born in 2017, and Aaron began self-harming again.

He and Robert split and Aaron moved on briefly with Dr Alex. Though his scars made him self-conscious, Aaron managed to deal with his feelings and tell Alex the truth.

Though that relationship didn’t last, with the support of his half-sister Liv, Aaron finally managed to stop self-harming.

Is Aaron returning to self harm in Emmerdale?

Aaron’s feelings about his dad’s abuse have resurfaced since he found out the truth about what Anthony did to Ruby.

Ruby’s ordeal has stirred up Aaron’s trauma – as we saw when he attacked Anthony in the depot. And now with the guilt he’s feeling on top of everything else, even though he might not be the killer, it’s all seeming too much for him to cope with.

Could Aaron start self-harming again? Has he already started down that path? It definitely seems likely – but could new boyfriend John be the one to save him?

Georgia Jay has blink and you’ll miss it cameo in top BBC crime drama: ‘Hope she’s not looking for her grandad’

Steph Miligan, AKA actress Georgia Jay, is rubbing the Emmerdale viewers up the wrong way right now. It’s partly her desperation to find her grandad and partly the awful tone she uses every time she speaks to her poor mum, Ruby.

But of course, Steph has a huge shock in store. Because we viewers know, though she doesn’t, that her beloved Grandad, Anthony, was an evil abuser who raped his own daughter.

AND she doesn’t know that Anthony isn’t just her grandad – he’s also her biological dad. Because his sexual abuse of Ruby led to her teenage pregnancy.

That’s a lot, but it’s not all Steph doesn’t know. She’s also unaware that Anthony is dead.

    It’s all going on!

    Georgia Jay: Steph looks smug

    Georgia Jay on screen

Steph is played by Georgia Jay, who joined the soap late last year. She already had experience in television having appeared in award-winning series’ Girl/Haji, and Glow and Darkness alongside telly icon Joan Collins!

And sharp-eyed viewers will have seen Georgia make a brief appearance in this week’s Silent Witness on BBC One.

    Georgia Jay in Silent Witness

    A Silent Witness quickie!

Georgia played a character called Camilla who appeared right at the very start of Monday’s episode.

Camilla and her husband arrived at a swanky hotel in Mumbai only to find a member of staff dead in their fancy suite!

It was the start of a deadly epidemic that was the focus of both dramatic episodes this week.

And the Emmerdale fans thought it was hilarious that Steph – or Georgia Jay to be exact – was right there in the thick of it!

“There’s no escaping her,” joked one fan. “Hope she’s not still looking for her grandad.”

Steph’s definitely right at the centre of the drama in Emmerdale even though she doesn’t know exactly why yet. We know secrets are always revealed eventually in soap, so surely it’s only a matter of time before she finds out the truth about her grandad?

  • John’s ‘real motive’ for wanting Anthony dead ‘worked out’ by Emmerdale fans who think they had a ‘secret link’

John’s ‘real motive’ for wanting Anthony dead ‘worked out’ by Emmerdale fans who think they had a ‘secret link’

As John Sugden continues to look suspicious to Emmerdale fans, many believe they have ‘worked out’ the true reason he may have wanted Anthony dead.

John jumped into hero mode for Aaron when he found out about Anthony’s death. But he definitely gave the impression that he had covered up a murder before.

When John first arrived in Emmerdale, fans immediately did not trust him. And now with the growing theories that he actually killed Anthony, fans think they know why.

    John’s secret link to Anthony

Ever since it was revealed that Anthony had sexually abused Ruby when she was younger, and was actually Steph’s dad, fans have wanted the vile man off their screens. And they got their wish.

Emmerdale aired Anthony’s death last week after Aaron brutally beat him up. But by the time he and John went back to the Depot to check on him, he was dead. However, viewers know there was enough time for someone else to finish the job. And now are just waiting for the twist to be revealed.

With many suspecting John was the one behind the murder, up until now his motives for wanting Anthony dead have been unclear. But fans believe there was a secret link we never knew about.

Viewers have theorised that John Sugden isn’t a Sugden at all. But instead is Ruby’s brother. And they believe that he wanted to deal the final blow to his dad.

Commenting on a Facebook post, one fan wrote: “I think Anthony’s real killer is John? Who turns out to be Ruby’s brother.”

Another backed it up, adding: “I thought a brother had been mentioned previously?”

While a third simply wrote: “Love child maybe?”

The theory not only helps further the Anthony plot, but it also provides fans more knowledge of John. Because let’s face it, there’s something off about him.

    Suspicious John Sugden in Emmerdale

So could John have been protecting his sister from their dad? Or had he also had horrible experiences with Anthony and wanted to get his own revenge?

And if the theory doesn’t come true, there is still a question mark over John.

Most fans agree that he isn’t who he says he is. Some believe he is really the mysterious Aidan Moore, who he said died in Afghanistan. But others believe he killed Aidan, and has a murderous side.

Either way, concern has grown for Aaron as John now has the chance to hold this secret over him.

  • Matty has a secret child in London, fan theory explored

Matty has a secret child in London, fan theory explored

According to Emmerdale spoilers for next week, Amy decides that she and Matty should adopt a child together. And fans think they know the reason Matty doesn’t seem too keen.

Last April, Matty and Amy finally tied the knot. And since then, the couple have been sailing by (minus a few hiccups). But when Amy decides they should take things to the next level, Matty doesn’t react the way she hoped.

Matty refuses to let the conversation last that long, and makes Amy feel guilty for even suggesting it. But a new fan theory suggests there might be a reason for his reaction.

Matty doesn’t react well to adoption hopes in Emmerdale spoilers

Family has always been a big thing to the Bartons. So Matty’s lack of interest in adopting is quite surprising.

Years ago, before Matty transitioned, he was known as ‘Hannah Barton.’ ‘Hannah’ was last seen on our screens way back in 2012. Off-screen, ‘Hannah’ transitioned into Matty, before his first appearance in 2018.

But a new fan theory suggests when Matty was still legally ‘Hannah’, he may have actually had a child.

The fan shared their theory on X. They wrote: ‘Calling it now. What’s the betting that Matty doesn’t want to adopt because he already had a secret kid when he was ‘Hannah.’ He could have put the kid up for adoption when he was in London.”

At some point during living in London, ‘Hannah’ made the decision to transition to Matty. But before that, ‘Hannah’ would have had enough time in London to have a child.

Amy smiles at Matty as he looks deep in thought in Emmerdale

Could Matty have a secret child?

And in Soap Land nothing is out of the realm of possibility. So maybe Matty is afraid of old feelings creeping up on him?

His time living in London isn’t something the show has explored much, other than the transition he made. So perhaps we’re about to get a deeper insight to what happened before he came back to the village.

If it is the case that Matty has a child, that would mean his kid would be over the age of 7. Or could even be a teenager by now.

So if he does have a secret child, why does he not tell Amy? And what will happen if it comes out?

But if this isn’t the reason he doesn’t want to adopt – what actually is?

Either way, it looks like Matty has some explaining to do.

Emmerdale: ‘Just tell Steph’ beg fans who can’t take her ‘where art thou grandad’ routine any longer

As Anthony is murdered in Emmerdale, fans beg Ruby Fox-Miligan to tell Steph the truth about what her ‘grandad’ did to her.

Over the past couple of months, the soap has explored an abuse story, after it was revealed that Anthony abused his daughter Ruby when she was a teenager.

It was also revealed on Emmerdale that Anthony is in fact Steph’s real father, not her grandad. Steph remains oblivious to everything and is intent on finding out where he has disappeared to. However, fans want Steph to be told the truth and to remove those rose tinted glasses.

Viewers soon discovered, via a special flashback episode, that Anthony had abused Ruby when she was a teenager. This explained Ruby’s hostility towards her dad.

However, Steph has been unaware of what went down years ago and has accused her mum of being cold and of not loving her like she loved Nicky.

Recently, it was revealed that Anthony is in fact Steph’s father, not Caleb Miligan. After Ruby confided parts of her story to Chas, Chas soon realised the whole truth and told her brother Cain. While Aaron Dingle and Caleb also learnt the truth, meaning there were no shortage of suspects when Anthony was killed last week.

Chas also told Nicola that Anthony wasn’t safe around children. However, in Tuesday’s episode, Ruby realises this and demands that Chas take back her words before Steph finds out.

Fans beg for Steph to learn the truth in Emmerdale

Fans took to social media to demand Steph be told the truth, with viewers sick of her ‘where art thou grandad’ routine.

“Despite how heartbreaking it’ll be – Steph deserves to know the truth about Anthony,” wrong one fan on X.

“Just tell Steph….please….I can’t stand listening to her going on about him any more,” wrote another viewer.

I just want Steph to know what a not wonderful man her grandfather really was because how she treats her mum is awful,” wrote a third fan, while a fourth added: “Why don’t they just sit her down and tell her what he did? I get they don’t want to tell her she’s his daughter but she doesn’t need to know that part.”

A fifth fan said: “She’s getting really annoying now. Just tell her the [bleep] truth, think she needs to know.”
