Follow-up: As Steph gets closer to Anthony truth, when will she get answers? Georgia Jay hints it’s soon

In tonight’s episode of Emmerdale (Monday, March 10), Steph Miligan continued to hunt for the truth about Anthony and she’s getting closer.

With her parents acting suspiciously, Steph is sure they are hiding something and is determined to find out what.

Anthony Fox hasn’t been seen since January, but when will Steph discover just why he disappeared?

Steph hunts for the truth in Emmerdale

While several of the villagers are in on the Anthony secret, Steph isn’t one of them.  Back in January, John hid Anthony’s body after believing Aaron had murdered him. It was later revealed that Ruby was the real culprit and had killed her abuser dad.

Caleb, Cain and Chas also became involved in the deceit, with the group often meeting to discuss how to stay out of trouble.

Steph still thinks highly of Anthony and is not aware that he is actually her father rather than grandfather. Caleb and Ruby have been shielding Steph from the truth. However, tonight she became more determined than ever to discover what her parents are hiding.

A friend of Anthony’s from France called the house enquiring after Anthony as he hadn’t arrived for a planned visit. Steph initially took the call, but Ruby quickly snatched the phone from her daughter.

Steph found this behaviour suspicious and later followed Ruby to Anthony’s burial site – though Steph is obviously unaware that that is what it is.

Caleb later caught Steph searching his office for evidence of their lies. Back at home she accused her parents of being weird and of hiding something about Anthony. Caleb and Ruby insisted there was no big secret, leafing to Steph accusing them of gaslighting her.

How long can they hide the truth from their daughter?

Georgia Jay hints that Steph will discover truth ‘soon’

Speaking about the phone call that comes through from France regarding Anthony’s whereabouts, actress Georgia Jay said: “Steph’s trying to put a timeline together. Ruby shuts down the conversation really, really quickly. That just gives Steph another bit of scent to go on her way and realise that something is being covered up here.”

As Steph continues to investigate, she soon comes across Caleb’s gun. “Steph comes straight out with it and confronts Caleb with the revolver. He is straight away very defensive and comes up with some story that it was used as a threat for Cain after he found out about Ruby and Cain together.

Much to Steph’s dismay, Cain confirms Caleb’s story. But Georgia has said Steph will continue to hunt for the truth. “So I think it’s one of those things where she doesn’t know what else to do, or who she can trust. It’s all closing in on her because she’s thinking who’s involved, who’s lying, who’s not, who’s covering up.”

Upcoming scenes will also see Steph want to report her parents to the police. As she continues to dig into Anthony’s disappearance, what will her reaction be when the truth comes out?

With everything ‘closing in’ on Steph, it seems that Ruby and Caleb might be forced to give Steph answers rather soon to stop her from reporting them…

Follow-up: Will Dylan die after drug overdose? What his future looks like

In tonight’s episode of Emmerdale (Monday, March 10), Marlon Dingle made a grave error that resulted in Dylan being rushed to hospital.

While Marlon was just trying to look out for his daughter, April, he didn’t consider what the repercussions would be for Dylan.

    Will Dylan pull through?

Dylan was rushed to hospital after drug overdose

After meeting on the streets, April Windsor invited Dylan to come stay in Emmerdale last week – much to the frustration of Marlon.

Marlon, Rhona and Ross have been concerned about the effect Dylan might have on April and have been eager for him to leave the village. In tonight’s Emmerdale, Marlon took matters into his own hands.

While in the vets, Rhona told Marlon that some Ketamine had gone missing. They immediately suspected Dylan and went to confront him.

Dylan insisted he’d not taken the drugs, but when the trio forced him to empty his pockets, the missing Ketamine was found. He continued to plead his innocence, but when even April wouldn’t back him up, he grabbed his stuff and left.

Later on, Marlon admitted to Rhona that it had actually been him who stole the Ketamine in order to set Dylan up and get him out of April’s life. It proved to be a costly mistake.

Soon after, Ross called Marlon to tell him he’d seen Dylan being out in the back of an ambulance after overdosing on ‘spice.’ Marlon and Rhona rushed to the hospital, where Marlon admitted to feeling guilty for what he’d done to Dylan.

    Will Dylan die in Emmerdale?

Things looked bleak for Dylan at the end of Monday’s episode, but, thankfully, spoilers for this week reveal that Dylan does wake up.

Coming up this week, Marlon struggles with his guilt and wants to tell April the truth about the Ketamine. Rhona implores him not to. However, when Dylan wakes, Marlon does confess the truth to him.

Marlon explains to Dylan that he regrets his actions and only had his concern for April on his mind. Marlon also offers to pay for Dylan to go to rehab.

Dylan then surprises Marlon by telling him not to upset April by telling her the truth. But later on he asks Marlon if he can see April before going to rehab as he wants to tell her something. Has he had a change of heart about keeping Marlon’s secret, and will he get the help he needs?

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley is all smiles as she poses for a snap with Peter Kay after heckler controversy

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley has proved that she harbours no ill feeling toward comedian Peter Kay following his recent heckler controversy. The Bolton funnyman made headlines after invoking the Emmerdale star’s name while dealing with a heckler.

According to reports, Peter grew frustrated after an audience member repeatedly shouted out ‘garlic bread’ during a recent gig. After having the person in question removed, another attracted his ire – a woman who shouted out “we love you Peter!”

According to MailOnline, Peter replied: “Oh Christ almighty. Bloody hell. I love Saturdays. Is he gone now? Alright, love I’ve heard you. Take her out and all while you’re up there will you? Take her out.”

He reportedly continued: “Go on, you’ve missed the ending and everything, what a shame with your [expletive] big gob drinking de-icer. Out you go. Go on, Lisa Riley, [expletive] off. Go on. Out you pop flower, go on. See ya.”

This comparison had many offended, with the woman telling Manchester Evening News that she felt Peter was making a jab at her weight with the comment.

“I do feel he was on about my weight,” she told the newspaper. “I’m self-conscious about that so to go to a show and feel like you’re having the mick taken out of you because of your weight, I was just a bit shocked.”

The Mandy Dingle star, however, seems not to have taken it too seriously – attending his show on Saturday night, and even sharing a picture afterward.

  • Emmerdale’s bad dads from Cain to Mackenzie and Marlon – who’s the worst of the lot?

Emmerdale’s bad dads from Cain to Mackenzie and Marlon – who’s the worst of the lot?

Emmerdale’s full of bad dads! Marlon is continuing to spiral next week as he struggles to deal with April’s return home after her ordeal on the streets. Marlon being Marlon, however, means he’s not listening to his daughter’s torment calmly and working out what she needs to make things better.

    Oh no.

Instead he’s following her, shouting at her, ignoring what she says, sleeping downstairs with the door locked so she can’t leave the house and generally making her life so miserable that we’re pretty sure she’ll scarper again at the first opportunity.

    Great fathering, Marlon. Smashing.

But when it comes to dads in Emmerdale, Marlon’s not even the worst of them. In fact, it’s actually easier to list the dads doing a good job in the village – Paddy, Billy – than the ones who are pretty rubbish.

So we thought we’d take a look at the worst of Emmerdale’s bad dads.

Nate attacks CAin on the boat
Nate and Cain’s relationship was fiery (Credit: ITV)

    Cain Dingle

He’s the obvious place to start because he is shocking at parenthood (and at marriage, and at being a brother, let’s be honest). Cain made a big sacrifice when he took the blame for Kyle shooting Al Chapman, though the truth came out eventually.

But since then it’s been downhill all the way. And right now, when young Kyle needs his dad’s support after the death of his mum Amy, Cain’s too busy moping around and feeling sorry for himself after cheating on Moira to be any proper use.

Then there’s little Isaac, who Cain barely notices, and can we talk about Nate? Whose last memory of his dad would be him attacking him in a rage after accusing him (wrongly this time, but to be fair, he was right about this the first time) of sleeping with his wife.

It’s no wonder daughter Debbie lives hundreds of miles away in Aberdeen, and granddaughter Sarah calls him ‘Grumpy’.

April and Ross talk in the graveyard
We love Ross and April’s friendship but he’s not doing a great job with Moses (Credit: ITV)

    Ross Barton

Ross Barton has shown himself to be fiercely protective of April and there’s no doubt he wore out his shoe leather traipsing the streets of Leeds when she was missing. But that protective nature doesn’t seem to extend to actually listening to April. Instead, like so many other Emmerdale men, he punches first and asks questions later. YAWN.

Ross has abandoned his stepson Seb to come to the village, and while he was adamant about building a relationship with his son Moses when he arrived, he doesn’t seem that bothered now. Possibly because poor Moses is scared stiff of his dad after he took him to an illegal boxing match. That’s definitely not in the parenting manuals.

Nicky and Caleb talk on Emmerdale
Caleb schemed with son Nicky to take down Kim (Credit: ITV)

    Caleb Dingle

Caleb’s children may be proper grown ups now, but that doesn’t seem to have stopped him being one of the worst dads in the village. Currently he’s letting daughter Steph get away with treating her vulnerable mother Ruby like dirt from the bottom of her shoe. While giving her a job and welcoming her into the home, of course. There are no consequences to her horrible behaviour. And yes we know the whole family dynamic is off kilter thanks to Anthony’s abuse of Ruby, but still – you can’t talk to people like that, Stephanie.

And what about Nicky? Caleb manipulated his son – who is gay by the way – into seducing young mum Gabby Thomas and then jilting her on their wedding day and breaking her heart. All because of some weird vendetta he had against Kim Tate who was once married to his dad, Frank Tate.

    Top dadding, Caleb. Well done.

    Charles Anderson looks brooding
Charles has a proper temper (Credit: ITV)

    Charles Anderson

Vicar Charles is dubbed Angry Anderson by fans online and we can see why. His default setting is shouting and losing his temper and no one pushed his buttons more than his wayward daughter Naomi. He stomped and sulked his way through their brief reconciliation when Naomi came to the village and then Naomi left for Australia. She didn’t even come back to see her dad when brother Ethan died.

David Metcalfe - aka Matthew Wolfenden -left Emmerdale last year (Credit: ITV)
David Metcalfe left Emmerdale last year and he’s not coming back – not even to support his son (Credit: ITV)

    David Metcalfe

It’s a bit of a cheat this one as David left the village a while ago. But his supposedly beloved son is currently grieving for his mum Leyla and David has just abandoned him to let him get on with it.

Jacob is young, and vulnerable and he’s coping with his mother’s death all by himself. He really needs his dad. But David’s too busy sulking that Jacob got together with his ex-girlfriend Victoria to think of that.

Luckily for Jacob, he’s got his grandad Eric Pollard by his side. Eric himself wasn’t the best dad, but he’s pulled it out of the bag when it comes to grandfatherhood.

    Chloe and Mackenzie
Mack showed his true colours in his manipulation of Chloe (Credit: ITV)

    Mackenzie Boyd

Overgrown toddler Mackenzie is another dad who’s explosive, handy with his fists, and very quick to centre his own needs above his child or their mother. He was borderline abusive to Chloe, who was a frightened young mum.

He did his best to frighten her into keeping the dad of her baby a secret, then changed his mind, then pretended he wanted to be with her, while he was still in love with Charity…

Wherever Chloe is now, we reckon she must still be reeling from everything that happened. While Mack is busy playing daddy to Moses instead.

Bob looks annoyed while wearing a silly camouflage jacket on Emmerdale (Credit: ITV/Composite: EI)
Daddy Hope thinks about all his other kids that he’s completely forgotten (Credit: ITV/Composite: EI)

    Bob Hope

There’s no doubt that Bob loves his daughter Cathy and he’s been very supportive of her since she lost her twin brother Heath – after a bumpy ride there for a while. It’s just a shame he seems to have forgotten all his other kids! Bob’s got loads of them. There’s Josh, Jamie, Carly and Roxy, plus former stepson Scott – who does occasionally get a mention.

All of Bob’s kids have been in the village at one time or another, but it’s definitely a case of out of sight, out of mind when it comes to Mr Hope’s parenting skills. We’d love to see one or more of Bob’s children return – that would keep him on his toes, no doubt about it!

  • From Moira’s U-turn to funeral madness: 6 things that didn’t make sense in Emmerdale this week

From Moira’s U-turn to funeral madness: 6 things that didn’t make sense in Emmerdale this week

It’s been another emotional week in Emmerdale this week, but some things just didn’t make sense to us.

Moira made a huge, lightning speed decision over Cain. No one turned up to Leyla’s funeral and Amy loved animals. Apparently.

Here are the things that left us scratching our heads in Emmerdale this week.

Things that didn’t make sense in Emmerdale this week

Moira and Cain on the sofa together at home on Emmerdale
Moira seduced Cain with talk of chicken burgers and it was all very sudden (Credit: ITV)

    1. Moira’s U-turn over Cain

On Monday (March 3) Moira tearfully told Cain they couldn’t make it work and he needed to move out. Their marriage was over. On Tuesday (March 4) she insisted they tell Kyle and Isaac they were splitting up.

But then Ruby sat her down for a cuppa and told her some home truths: Moira is not that innocent having slept with Nate. And also that she and Cain were meant to be together and she shouldn’t throw that away.

When Cain arrived to meet with the boys and tell them, Moira was still adamant they were going through with it.

Then suddenly she started talking about chicken burgers and how she didn’t want to freeze one in a pack of four. Cain was confused, and so were we, until she spelt out she wanted them to try again. And the pair kissed passionately.

Now, while we are thrilled the two are back together as a Coira split was NOT what we wanted, this seemed very sudden about-turn. Literally in the space of about 10 seconds. And to be so passionate so quickly? Something didn’t feel right…

Is she playing him for revenge? Could there be something else about to knock at Moira’s door – did she have something to do with Nate’s death? Or have we just been watching soaps too long and are always expecting too many twists?!

    2. Where were Leyla’s family?

Now we know David hates Jacob for sleeping with Victoria and we know Alicia lives in Portugal, but them not returning for Leyla’s funeral was ridiculous.

Broken leg or not, Alicia could have got on a plane and been then to support the boy she brought up as her son for years. And David could have popped up from London for a day whether Theo was ill or not. It’s really done Leyla dirty following her devastating death.

Villagers were forced to choose whose funeral to attend (Credit: ITV)

    3. Why were the funerals on the same day?!

Two popular village women, with lots of connections to other residents, so why oh why oh why were Amy and Leyla’s funerals on the same day at the same time?!

It was particularly odd for Eric Pollard not to attend Amy’s funeral – the girl he adopted with late wife Val, and gave away at her wedding to Matty. Instead he went to Leyla’s funeral to support Jacob as he saw Leyla as a surrogate daughter.

It was a lose lose for Pollard, really, so why didn’t they hold the funerals days or even just hours apart?

Matty held Amy's funeral in the woods because she loved animals and nature (Credit: ITV)

    4. Since when did Amy love animals?

We know Amy was a carefree spirit, but we had no idea about her intense love for animals. Nor that that was why animals, namely Chip the dog, were invited to her funeral. You learn something new about dead characters every day.

April and Marlon in Emmerdale this week

April asks Marlon if Dylan can stay in Emmerdale
April lived on the streets, but she had a good home to go back to (Credit: ITV)

    5. April claiming she was homeless

Bit of a pinickity one this, but April keeps saying she was homeless. She technically wasn’t, she ran away. There is a difference, because she did have a loving, safe home to go to. She chose not to.

And for that matter, was her life with Marlon and Rhona really so awful, living in a squat was better? We keep wondering if there is another flashback incoming because we really can’t see what was so terrible…

What else happened in Emmerdale this week?

    6. How is everyone so flush?

Victoria bought two bottles of wine for £15. She gave Tracy a £20 note and told her to stick the change in the charity box. That’s not just a few pennies, that’s £5! Nice of her to give that to charity, for sure, but just months ago she was destitute, so how can she afford it now?

  • Why did Moira change her mind, why won’t Marlon stop shouting and who WAS Amy? We’ve got a lot of questions about this week’s Emmerdale

Why did Moira change her mind, why won’t Marlon stop shouting and who WAS Amy? We’ve got a lot of questions about this week’s Emmerdale

This week’s Emmerdale review is basically just a list of questions. We’ve been left scratching our heads a bit after the week’s episodes. In fact, we’d say they’ve totally left us with more questions than we had at the start of the week.

It was a busy week in Emmerdale with two of the three funerals for the women who died in the limo crash. And those funerals were at the exact same time, which is the first of our many questions we’ve got this week.

Here is our long list of ‘Whhhhyyyy?’ in this week’s Emmerdale review.

Marlon attacks Dylan while April looks on in Emmerdale
Marlon’s not listening to April (Credit: ITV)

Emmerdale review: What is Marlon thinking?

Since April first ran away we’ve had a lot of questions about the way Marlon’s dealing with this whole thing. And never more than this week where he appears to have completely lost his marbles. He’s sleeping by the front door, he’s shouting, he’s absolutely not listening to anything April says.

We’re not sure that April’s life at home before she ran away was so bad that scratching an existence on the streets was a better option. But we’re starting to think it might be now.

And then there’s Dylan. Despite the fact that April has told Marlon and Ross 50 million times that Dylan helped her, they are treating him like scum. He’s a vulnerable teen – just like April. Why is no one helping him?

Marlon was sort of right when he told April it was too much for her to be helping Dylan through his recovery but the solution there would have been to get some proper help for Dylan. Maybe he could have had a word with Manpreet, perhaps. Rather than just shouting at April. Again.

Cain and Moira on the sofa
    Everything’s FINE now (Credit: ITV)

WHY the change of heart, Moira?

We have a lot of questions about this too. So. Many. Questions. Obviously the main one for weeks has been why Cain slept with Ruby in the first place.

But this week we are BAFFLED by Moira’s super-quick turnaround. Why did Moira suddenly change her mind? We’ve got whiplash from that U-turn.

Tracy steals money from the till

    Emmerdale review: Tracy’s a thief!

How on earth did Tracy manage to nick two grand from Eric?! Why hasn’t he noticed given his precarious financial situation? Why didn’t she go to Cain for help, or Vanessa? Or even Eric! Tracy’s better than this.

    Emmerdale review: Leyla Manpreet
Leyla discovered Manpreet’s secret (Credit: ITV)

    What was Manpreet thinking?

We’re glad Manpreet’s getting a story. But sexy pics, Manpreet? Really?

We are quite interested in who her blackmailer is though.

    Jacob at Leyla's funeral
    Poor Jacob (Credit: ITV)

    Leyla’s fabulous send-off

Leyla’s funeral was perfect. We loved how she’d written her own eulogy. We loved the gold coffin, and the pallbearers and the music choices. We really, really loved the fortune cookies. What a great touch. But it was a bit odd that it was in church – somewhere we’re not sure Leyla had ever been!

And it was really odd that it was at the same time as Amy’s funeral. Poor Eric had to choose between two women he’d genuinely loved. And of course he had to choose Leyla’s because he needed to support his grandson Jacob (do NOT get us started on how Jacob has been abandoned by the rest of his family just when he needs them the most)  but it can’t have been easy for him.

    Matty at Amy's funeral
Matty told us all sorts of things we didn’t know about Amy (Credit: ITV)

    Amy’s nature-based, animal loving funeral

Speaking of which, Amy’s funeral was… odd. Because it turns out we didn’t know much about Amy. At least, we didn’t before she died. But apparently she loved nature and walks in the woods, she loved animals, and she had a friend in Belfast who died.

We didn’t see any of that of course, when she was alive, but we know now because Matty told us at the funeral. Which is making us think that Amy was very underused on screen, and also that – whisper this – we won’t really miss her.

Vanessa and Tracy drink to Suzy
Thw women toasted Suzy (Credit: ITV)

    Emmerdale review: Who was Suzy?

In fact, we feel a similar way about Suzy and Vanessa. We hardly saw them together when Suzy was alive. We saw much more of Suzy and Mary’s growing friendship when Vanessa was away. So all the stuff Vanessa’s now telling us about how she was planning to propose and they were going to go to New York, and the details of their relationship are new to us.

Nate Robinson's body floats back down into the water and we can see the distinctive bracelet (Credit: ITV)
Will Matty remember what Amy told him? (Credit: ITV)

We’re not over the limo drama

Just to round off this week’s Emmerdale review, we want to say that we’re still reeling from the drama of Valentine’s Day.

We’re still a bit annoyed that THREE young women were killed in the limo crash. We still think Emmerdale feels unbalanced and too male. We are really, really going to miss Leyla who was just the most fabulous character.

And most of all we are DESPERATE for Matty to remember what Amy told him about seeing Nate’s body in the lake. Yes, we know he’s had a lot on. But come on, Matty! Get that grey matter working!

Former Emmerdale star Roxy Shahidi has teased her future career role plans on another soap following her exit as Leyla Harding.

Roxy’s character Leyla Harding was killed off from the Dales-based soap last month in a tragic limo crash.

Now, Roxy’s already thinking about switching Emmerdale village up for Weatherfield…

    Leyla’s death in Emmerdale

Last month, a huge limo crash rocked the Dales as it claimed the lives of Suzy, Amy and Leyla.

Hoping that a great night out would cure her loneliness, Leyla put on a sparkly outfit and ‘got into that limo if it killed her.’ And, well, it did.

A piece of glass sadly went straight through Leyla’s stomach, causing her to lose consciousness. Kerry dragged her across the ice but as soon as she got into an ambulance… she died.

Jacob was devastated as he found his dead mum lying in the morgue whilst he was working on shift in A&E. Talk about traumatising.

Despite dying a couple of weeks back, Leyla’s final scenes however actually aired last night (Thursday,  March 6).

Leyla narrated her own funeral, with flashbacks then seeing her uncover several secrets of other villagers’ before she passed. What an iconic ending for an iconic character.

As well as continuing with her yoga business, Roxy has shared other exciting plans for the future.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Roxy shared: “I’m really excited about doing more podcasts with Matthew Wolfenden and maybe doing some presenting. I also write, so I want to do more writing. I want to keep acting, too.

She added: “I just would like to do lots of different things, now that I’ve got the freedom to try my hand at new projects and just see what happens. I just want to go on a bit of an adventure and allow things to be unpredictable.”

She then teased which other shows she’d love to work on, with one being ITV rival soap, Corrie.

“Coronation Street would be good. I also wouldn’t mind doing a continuing drama – I’d love to maybe do Waterloo Road.” Could we see Roxy rocking up on the cobbles in the coming years?

  • Emmerdale brings Leyla back one final time, confirming killing her off was a ‘mistake’

Emmerdale brings Leyla back one final time, confirming killing her off was a ‘mistake’

Emmerdale fans already weren’t happy over Leyla Harding’s death, but they’ve branded it as a huge ‘mistake’ once again after last night (Thursday, March 6).

In a huge twist, Leyla’s funeral episode aired a special voiceover, with Leyla narrating her own send-off.

With Leyla making sure that she was the star of the show in life and death, fans reckon these scenes have confirmed that her death was an extremely bad decision.

    Leyla’s funeral episode

Last night in the Dales, the villagers (and viewers) were left teary-eyed as Leyla narrated her own funeral.

She made sure she was remembered in style, with six men carrying her gold coffin. She even made ex-husband Liam read a eulogy to her, in a super awkward but memorable moment.

Afterwards, at her wake, it turned out that Leyla had even left messages to her loved ones. Jacob’s reminded him to use moisturiser…

In another huge moment, it was then revealed that Leyla had actually take not one, not two… but three secrets to the grave.

Proving that she was the heart and soul of the village, intertwined in everyone’s lives until the very end, she caught Tracy pocketing money from the shop.

She then walked in on Mary kissing Suzy, and also rumbled Manpreet’s saucy online side-hustle…

Emmerdale fans brand Leyla death huge ‘mistake’ once more

When Leyla sadly died in the limo crash last month, fans made their devastation known. They thought the soap’s decision to kill off the long-running character was a bad decision.

And now, with Leyla having one last moment to shine in her (and, oh sorry, Amy’s) funeral episode, fans reckon these scenes have cemented the decision to kill off Leyla being a massive mistake. They think that Leyla being alive to spill all of the secrets would’ve been much more enjoyable.

One fan commented: “This episode is confirming that killing off Leyla and Suzy was a massive mistake.”

Another person shared: “It’s increasingly obvious that killing off Amy, Leyla and Suzy is one of the all-time worst decisions.”

A third person added: “I do feel sorry for Leyla. Should have caused some chaos with the secrets being spilled. We’ve been robbed.”

  • Is Arthur the dad of April’s baby in Emmerdale? Fans sure they’ve spotted ‘hint’ despite him being gay

Is Arthur the dad of April’s baby in Emmerdale? Fans sure they’ve spotted ‘hint’ despite him being gay

The mystery in Emmerdale of who the dad of April’s baby doesn’t seem to be a huge concern on the show. April gave her explanations and then it was dropped.

But viewers can’t help but wonder if what she said was lies, and that she did know who the dad of the baby was.

Initially there were a lot of theories, where fans believed she was covering for someone because she was scared of Marlon’s reaction. But now, some fans think the baby daddy may be closer to home..

What has April said about her baby’s dad?

When April was found after almost six-weeks of living on the streets, everyone wanted to know who got her pregnant.

Marlon, Rhona and Ross were all ready to track him down. Although, to do that they needed April to give them a name.

However, it seems that even April didn’t fully know the answer to that. As she explained that she was drunk at a party and slept with a random guy that was there.

She was scared of how it looked to everyone, but not long after it, it was never mentioned again.

But in Emmerdale this week Laurel commented on how April hasn’t been to see Arthur yet, leading some fans to wonder if this was a hint.

Is Arthur the dad of April’s baby in Emmerdale?

Laurel headed over to April and told her that Arthur would love to see her, and April said she would “maybe” come over for dinner some time. But the hesitation on her face was clear.

Fans took to reddit to discuss the possibility that April and Arthur may have slept together, and now she doesn’t want to face him.

One wrote: “Am I the only one who finds it odd that April has been back a month and lives about five doors away from Arthur, but she hasn’t responded to him. And she hasn’t seen him at all in that time? I think in a weird twist he might be the baby’s father.”

However, one huge issue with the theory is that Arthur is gay, and had his own coming out storyline. So if this came true, it would kind of ruin his own character arc – which others point out.

A viewer commented: “I don’t want that. I am sick of the whole ‘gay guy sleeps with a woman in a moment of madness and gets her pregnant’ storyline. It’s not realistic.”

Others have called for Arthur to begin a romance with April’s friend, Dylan.

Another added: “This would be infuriating. I would much rather Arthur hook up with Dylan instead. That could be a potentially good storyline for him.”

  • Joe’s doctor is hiding something in Emmerdale- all the theories on what he’s really after

Joe’s doctor is hiding something in Emmerdale- all the theories on what he’s really after

When Emmerdale brought back Joe Tate it was clear that he was hiding a mystery illness that requires an on-call doctor. And nearly three full months later, we still don’t know what it actually is.

But recent episodes gave us more of an insight as he got progressively worse and called for his doctor. But Dr Crowley didn’t seem like any normal doctor. He has been visiting Joe in the evenings, checking up on him during the days. Anyone would think he’s the new Graham.

He told Joe that he needed to stop his affair with Dawn (hasn’t really gone to plan). And on one occasion used whatever was in Joe’s black small suitcase to make him feel temporarily better – leading viewers to believe he has kidney failure. But could the mystery doctor be in Joe’s life for another, more sinister reason?

Viewers are now suspicious about Joe’s doctors true intentions are. And even think he may be more than a doctor to him. But what exactly could he be hiding?

    Tate connection?

Some fans think Dr Crowley and Joe may actually be related. And if that’s true, and the doc is somehow connected to the Tate family, then maybe he is up to his own con. Could he have his own plan in motion to take over Home Farm?

Taking to a reddit thread, one fan theorised: “Something is telling me that he isn’t really a doctor, or he has ties to the Tate’s. Why would he help Joe and go to so much length and secrecy to do so? How come he only Joe has seen him?

The relationship between Joe and Crowley seems a bit closer than doctor and patient? I wonder if the reason he hasn’t been seen with other characters yet is because someone might recognise him?”

    Dodgy doc

Another popular theory seems to be that he isn’t a doctor at all and is actually pretending that he is to Joe for money.

Knowing Joe, he is probably paying a lot of money for Dr Crowley. So if he finds out this whole time he hasn’t been honest with him, it will sure cause some chaos.

One fan suggested: “I think he could be conning Joe, pretending to be a doctor when he isn’t really.” And another agreed: “That would be so good. Conning the conner.”

What his exact motive would be is unknown, but are we about to find out there’s more than meets the eye?

Another fan believes this is a likely situation, and that the medication he is giving Joe may actually be making him sicker.

They wrote: “He could giving pills to Joe that are making him more ill. To ensure that Joe is dependant on him (and get money).”

    Secret relationship?

This one feels a bit of a reach. But some fans think his need for Joe and Dawn to stop their affair is actually because he is jealous.

This theory doesn’t seem too plausible considering if this was the case, Joe could have just avoided Dawn for good. So maybe even if it isn’t a proper relationship, could Dr Crowley have a crush on him?..

One fan noticed: “I wondered whether he was a lover of sorts. He uses ‘we’ a lot, but a doctor would more likely say ‘you’.”

A second viewer added: “I did think after last week that there might be a romance going on. Purely based on the way he spoke to him.”

    Figment of imagination

Another popular theory is Dr Crowley actually isn’t real. And instead is just purely in Joe’s imagination.

As fans have pointed out, only Joe has ever seen him. And he seems to appear right when Joe needs him the most then disappears for a while.

The same reddit thread suggested: “It’s also a possibility that Joe is imagining him and he isn’t really there?”

It could suggest that Joe’s illness is actually deteriorating quicker than anyone would like. And maybe, he is running out of time.

Whatever his connection is, it’s time we found out the truth – before it’s too late!
