  • Fans hit out over Paula Lane Emmerdale exit rumours: ‘What a waste of a talented actress’

Fans hit out over Paula Lane Emmerdale exit rumours: ‘What a waste of a talented actress’

It looks like another character is set to leave, as Paula Lane is reportedly leaving the show. And her Emmerdale exit scenes are to be filmed soon.

Paula has played the role of Ella Forster in Emmerdale since the beginning of the year, but it looks like an exit is already set.

The news was revealed on Paula’s own talent Spotlight page, which is linked in her Instagram bio.

It states while she is currently playing Ella in Emmerdale, she is set to finish filming in February 2025.

This suggests the character’s Emmerdale exit will appear on the screen in Spring time.

Paula Lane and her time in Emmerdale as Ella

Ella has been part of some huge storylines this year, and fans have been convinced there was far more to come for her character.

First introduced as a receptionist, Ella quickly became friends with Mandy Dingle, and found a romantic spark with Liam Cavanagh.

Viewers were then treated to an in depth shocking backstory for Ella as it was revealed she had killed a friend of hers during her childhood, and had since struggled to not be judged.

Ella was then pregnant with Liam’s baby and she hoped to rekindle their romance. But she tragically lost the baby, and Liam’s focus was on his feelings for Chas Dingle.

Just last week Ella found out the pair are now giving their relationship a go, and fans have predicted she will let her ‘psycho’ side out.

Fans react to Ella’s Emmerdale exit

Fans aren’t reacting well to the news of her upcoming exit, as they all believe she has more to show.

One wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “It’s such a shame that Emmerdale has axed Ella. Paula Lane is one of the best actresses in the show and could have had huge potential.”

Another supported the exit: “Can’t blame Paula Lane for leaving. All she was given is misery to keep her character miserable.”

Other fans took to a reddit thread to share their disappointment.

One wrote: “I think she was a great potential character. Her friendship with Mandy was really sweet when she was struggling. I think here was real potential to make her bonds really strong, but they just made her mopey.”

A second expressed their annoyance: “What a complete and total waste. This exit might go down as their worst squandering.”

“So much potential with a talented actress just wasted”, another penned.

Luckily for fans, we still have a few months left with Ella on our screens. And hopefully her exit storyline will be exciting.

  • 11 best Charity Dingle moments in Emmerdale – lusty love affairs, secret kids, murderous husbands and becoming a killer!

11 best Charity Dingle moments in Emmerdale – lusty love affairs, secret kids, murderous husbands and becoming a killer!

What would Emmerdale be without Charity Dingle? The iconic Woolpack landlady is an irrepressible force of nature who’s been part of our lives for nearly 25 years.

Best known for her penchant for illegal scams, wealthy men and her tumultuous on/off romance with cousin Cain, Charity’s one of the strongest characters in the village. Played to perfection by the amazing Emma Atkins, Charity has evolved from a scheming money-hungry minx to a slightly more responsible mum and wife, determined to do anything to protect her brood.

In a life that’s had so many incredible moments, it’s almost impossible to narrow them down. But here are 11 of Charity’s best bits…

Emmerdale Charity Dingle’s best moments: Her entanglement with the Tates

Charity burst onto our screens on March 30, 2000. She came to the village for the funeral of her cousin, Butch, and from the word go was a force to be reckoned with.

Feisty and fearless, Charity oozed sex appeal and caught the eye of Home Farm owner Chris Tate. The millionaire was on the lookout for his next bride, but his sister Zoe Tate did not approve of Chris’s choice.

Zoe made out she had an issue with the fact Charity used to be a prostitute. But that wasn’t the problem. The truth of it was that Zoe harboured feelings for her future sister-in-law. Wily Charity soon figured this out for herself. She made a move on Zoe and the pair embarked on a lust-fueled lesbian affair.

Charity eventually came clean to Chris after Zoe turned all bunny boiler. And to her surprise he forgave the betrayal and went ahead with their wedding.

    Reuniting with daughter Debbie

As Charity’s backstory began to be explored it was revealed she’d had a baby at 13, the result of a brief fling with her second cousin, Cain. Charity’s daughter, Debbie Dingle had been given up for adoption to a lady called Pat Jones. But fate brought them back together.

When Pat fell ill (and later died), Debbie was placed in the foster care of Paddy and Emily Kirk – who just so happened to live in the same village as her birth mum. What are they chances, eh?

After realising who Debbie was, Charity kept the discovery to herself. But when Debbie spilled the beans to Cain it was a secret no more. After a tricky start, Charity made up for lost time and bonded with the baby she’d been forced to give up.

    Love affair with Cain

How could we talk about Charity’s best moments with including Cain? He’s her second cousin, former fiancé, baby daddy, and, in the opinion of many Emmerdale fans, true soulmate. Charity and Cain’s on/off romance has spanned two decades and they are still one of soap’s most shipped pairings.

Charity’s relationship with Cain goes way, way back. Aged 13 and 14 respectively, they had a fling, which resulted in pregnancy.

They were brought back together as adults, got engaged, and nearly made it down the altar. But Charity had last-minute doubts and decided she’d rather be Cain’s girlfriend than his wife.

With so many amazing moments, it’s hard to choose one that stands out from the rest. But we are big fans of Charity and Cain’s troublemaking schemes – whether it’s stealing flash motors or swindling folk out of money.

Emmerdale: Charity Dingle’s best moments – her prison births

Charity’s a woman who knows about giving birth in prison – she’s done it twice!

Her first stint behind bars was thanks to Chris Tate. He wanted revenge over Charity’s affair with Cain and the perfect opportunity presented itself when Chris discovered he was dying of a brain tumour. After plotting to take his own life, Chris lured Charity to Home Farm and made it look as if she’d deliberately poisoned him.

Charity was sent down while pregnant with Chris’s baby, and delivered son Noah in March 2004.

Fast forward 11 years and Charity was jailed for a second time after being found guilty of perverting the course of justice. Six months later, Debbie visited her mum on the inside and was shocked when Charity suddenly went into labour. She gave birth to little Moses, whose father later turned out to be village bad boy Ross Barton.

And sparks have been flying again between Charity and Ross after they shared a shock kiss behind her husband Mack’s back. Are they headed for another steamy affair?

Sadie King sabotages Charity Dingle and Tom King's wedding in Emmerdale
Sadie King wrecked Charity’s chance of happiness with Tom King (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock)

    Bitter rivalry with Sadie King

Once upon a time, Charity was engaged to marry multimillionaire Tom King (the late grandfather of Belle’s evil ex). Tom was decades older than Charity but worshipped the ground she walked on. And for someone who’d grown up with nothing, the idea of a life of luxury rather suited Charity. Her future looked bright. But Tom’s scheming daughter-in-law Sadie King had other ideas.

Fearful that her position in the King family tree was under threat, Sadie plotted to stop Charity and Tom’s wedding. In order to do this she paid Cain (who she was bedding) to make a move on Charity and photograph the clinch.

Cain did as he was told, and Sadie showed the incriminating snaps to Tom on his wedding day. Tom jilted Charity at the altar, leaving her feeling humiliated.

Sadie had underestimated who she was dealing with though. Charity got her payback by seducing Sadie’s husband, Jimmy, and recording him confessing to Sadie’s sins!

Charity and Declan's marriage ended in disaster in Emmerdale

Charity and her disastrous marriage to Declan Macey in Emmerdale

After her tumultuous marriage to Jai Sharma ended in divorce, Charity made the near-fatal error of getting involved with Declan Macey. The pair became husband and wife, which meant Charity finally got the chance to be lady of Home Farm.

However, the union was littered with lies and betrayals. Charity fell pregnant but had an abortion behind Declan’s back. She then made out she’d suffered a miscarriage during an altercation with his sister, Megan.

When Declan found out the truth he decided to murder Charity. Events reached an explosive climax in the middle of a lake when Declan tried to shoot Charity with a flare gun. He accidentally shot and killed his nephew Robbie instead. Charity fought back and seemingly killed Declan, but he made a spectacular return.

As payback, he informed the police about all the criminal activities he had and Charity had got up to.

Emmerdale Charity’s best moments: Getting justice against Bails

Charity’s teenage years were traumatic and unstable. After giving birth to Debbie at 13 she ended up living – and working – on the streets as a prostitute. It was there Charity first met corrupt copper, Mark Bails.

He repeatedly abused and raped Charity, holding her hostage and pimping her out to his mates. Charity then fell pregnant. Aged 14, she gave birth to son Ryan, but fled the hospital after believing the baby was dead. She reported Bails for beating her up, which resulted in him losing out on a big work promotion. He never forgave Charity for ‘stalling’ his career.

Years later, their paths crossed again when DI Bails tried to have Charity convicted for insurance fraud. Realising she couldn’t allow him to harm any other vulnerable women, Charity found the courage to report Bails to the police.

She took him all the way to court, where Bails was found guilty on multiple counts and given 30 years in prison.

    Reconnecting with Ryan

Charity’s past returned to surprise her in 2018 when she discovered her son Ryan was actually alive. He had been adopted by Irene Stocks, one of the nurses who worked in the hospital where he was born.

When mum and son finally met it was a difficult reunion. Ryan was heartbroken to learn he’d been the product of rape and that Charity hadn’t even told the Dingles of his existence.

But after a rocky start things smoothed themselves out and Charity welcomed Ryan into her family. She’s incredibly protective of her lad, who has cerebral palsy, and did not approve of Ryan’s relationship with Dawn Taylor.

Vanessa Woodfield and Charity Dingle in Emmerdale

    Charity and Vanessa in Emmerdale

Charity has always identified as bisexual. Most of her relationships have been with men, but in 2017 she embarked on a romance with local vet Vanessa Woodfield.

Unlike her previous partners, Vanessa was kind and caring and showed Charity real love and support. Finally feeling safe, Charity’s barriers came down and she was able to truly be herself.

She proposed to Vanessa twice, and on the second time her girlfriend said yes. They remained happy for a while, Charity supported Vanessa through her battle against cancer and officially adopted her young son, Johnny. But as trust issues started to creep in, paranoid Charity ended up snogging a stranger she’d met on the side of the road. As you do.

When Vanessa found out about the betrayal, she dumped Charity and left the village. She later returned, but there was no going back for her and Charity as a couple. Which is a shame because we loved them together.

Charity Dingle’s best moments in Emmerdale: Becoming landlady of The Woolpack

Charity’s work ethic (or lack thereof) didn’t make her an obvious choice for landlady of The Woolpack. But eight years on she’s still running the show, so she must be doing something right.

She first came on board as co-owner to help cousin Chas run the village boozer. But Charity’s lazy antics drove Chas to despair and the landladies frequently clashed.

In 2021, the pub went up in flames after shady Al Chapman torched it in an insurance scam. Chas was broke, so The Woolie was put up for auction. And the highest bidders were Charity and her son Ryan.

Second time round, Charity seemed more at ease with being front of house. She recruited Chas to work as manager and Ryan deals with the financial side of the business, which is probably for the best.

    Killing Damon Harris

Last Christmas Charity became a killer after she put a bullet in gangster Damon ‘Harry’ Harris.

Harry was holding Charity’s husband Mackenzie Boyd hostage. Mack had been having an affair with Harry’s daughter, Chloe, and when he chose Charity over her, Harry did not like it!

Charity tailed Harry to the derelict warehouse where he was keeping Mack and realised he was intending to kill him. She jumped in to protect her other half, there was a wrestle for the gun and it suddenly went off, killing Harry.

In the aftermath, Charity was haunted by nightmares over what she’d done to Harry as well as traumatic events from her past. In her confused and agitated state she almost ended up committing another murder after stabbing Mack. Thankfully he lived to tell the tale.

  • Emmerdale review of the week: Belle fought back, we still love DS Foy and will Ella kill again?

Emmerdale review of the week: Belle fought back, we still love DS Foy and will Ella kill again?

This week’s review is full of despair, because everything in Emmerdale just feels a bit bleak, doesn’t it?

Poor Moira’s still in hospital, and there’s misery and upset everywhere we look. Here’s what we thought of this week’s episodes in our Emmerdale review.

Kim and Will finally got back together (Credit: ITV)
What is going on?! (Credit: ITV)

    Kim and Will’s endless plots

We planned to do a little recap of what’s gone on with the warring couple but as soon as we started writing we realised we weren’t completely sure. Someone is double-crossing someone else, and Will seems to be working with Kim‘s Graham-clone financial adviser Peter.

But Peter seems to be working with someone else to bring down Kim (why does he even care? Who even is he?!)

Frankly, if Joe Tate’s not involved we’re not interested.

    Ella unleashed?

One thing we ARE interested in is Ella. Because she has taken the news about Chas and Liam very badly indeed. Which is a little bit odd because she and Liam only went out for about 10 minutes and he was clearly never that into her.

But her being so furious about the whole thing has made us a bit excited that she might take terrible revenge on Chas and Liam. She’s killed before, after all…

    Vinny and Tina
Is that it, then? (Credit: ITV)

Vinny’s FINE in our Emmerdale review

Is the whole Tina Dingle thing done and dusted now, then? Is that it? When Vinny joked with Belle that they just needed to “rejig the family tree” it sounded like it was all over. Job done. Surely there’s going to be more to this? We hope so, anyway!

    Belle outsmarted Tom

When Tom tormented Belle this week, we were beginning to feel a bit frustrated. How come, we thought, no one is ever around when he corners poor Belle.

When he drove past her as he made his mistake, we even found ourselves wondering why Belle never uses her phone to help herself. Why doesn’t she film him? we thought.

But then Ms Dingle only went and outdid herself! She used her phone to track her evil ex and the hero that is DS Foy (yep, that crush we have on DS Foy is holding strong). Brilliant gripping stuff. We can’t wait to see Tom brought to justice.

Amelia and Jimmy finally saw sense!

A big shout out to Amelia and Jimmy for realising they’d also been duped by Tom and admitting their faults.

We especially enjoyed Charity and Amelia’s chat in the church. The Dingles have been really kind towards both Jimmy and Nicola this week, despite how they’d behaved towards Belle. It was good to see.

  • Ella to set fire to the Woolpack and leave Liam and Chas to burn? Our favourite theory

Ella to set fire to the Woolpack and leave Liam and Chas to burn? Our favourite theory

For a while, viewers have been thinking that in Emmerdale Ella has the potential to make some of the villagers suffer. Mixed with her history, and that she just found out about Chas and Liam, will she make them pay?

When Liam broke up with Ella recently, she specifically asked if she was seeing anyone else – and he said no. But in reality he and Chas were wanting to give things another go together.

Not only did their break up result in Ella moving out of her home, but she also temporarily didn’t have a job. So she really hasn’t had the easiest of times lately.

And so, because of all of this Chas and Liam agreed to keep their romance quiet for a while.

With a history of violence - could Ella be how Leyla dies?
Could Emmerdale’s Ella try to kill Liam and Chas? (Credit: ITV)

    Emmerdale Ella pushed too far?

But at the end of the day, nothing stays a secret for long in Emmerdale. Thursday’s episode saw Ella’s fears confirmed, as she put the pieces together.

However, in Emmerdale Ella is not someone you would want to mess with. For months fans have been wondering what will tip her over the edge and bring her dark side out. And many think it’s this.

Viewers believe that while Ella may not seem psycho to others in the village, the other side of her is waiting to come out.

Over the last few weeks she has turned into somewhat of a stalker regarding Liam. From constantly wanting to know where he is to needing to know who he is with, it looks like her true colours are starting to show.

While many have predicted she will go for revenge when she learns the truth – a new theory has even suggested how she may do it.

One fan posted on X (formerly Twitter): “Is Ella going to set fire to the Woolpack with Chas and Liam inside?…Psycho [expletive].”

The Woolpack would indeed be a good choice for location for Ella’s revenge, as it tends to be the place for dramatic storylines to reach their peak.

The theory was backed up by another user, who wrote: “Has it been on fire recently? I remember it blew up when Meena was in the show.”

Liam and Chas are caught out by Ella
After sneaking around, Chas and Liam are caught by Ella (Credit: ITV)

Could Ella kill Chas and Liam in huge Woolpack fire?

This is true, as back in 2021, Al Chapman decided wrecking the pub was his only way to get out of debt, and so he put a whisk into the microwave.

For a while after this the pub was closed, while refurbishments and the legal side of things were ongoing. So it has actually been a while since a big event happened there.

As Chas still currently resides there, could Ella aim to take away her home, job and her life?

It’s safe to say out of all the theories, this one is our favourite. Not only would it add some more drama to the village, but it also brings Emmerdale back to it’s centre; the pub.

We wouldn’t be opposed to seeing how that would all play out!

  • Leyla and Eric scenes sparks two new Emmerdale theories over her rumoured death

Leyla and Eric scenes sparks two new Emmerdale theories over her rumoured death

In last night’s episode (November 29) Leyla found out that Eric had invested all of his savings into crypto-currency. And with rumours of Leyla being the next Emmerdale death, two new theories have come to light.

Back in October, it was reported by The Sun that Roxy Shahidi is set to leave her role as Leyla Harding after 16 years – as she is killed off in a ‘meaty exit storyline.’

As a long-time character, it’s only fitting Leyla gets a send-off that will be remembered.

But after the scenes with Eric last night, many are speculating that it’s the beginning of her end.

    Leyla’s Emmerdale death theories

Eric told Leyla his money secret
Could Leyla’s Emmerdale death be related to Eric? (Credit: ITV)

Could she die because of Eric?

Last night Eric chose to confide in Leyla about his crypto-currency (because she forced him to). But as she is the only one who knows about it at the minute, could it lead to something sinister?

    Fans think it maybe could.

One wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Leyla’s upcoming exit / death is going to have something to do with Eric.”

We saw Eric realise there was no money, but he believed that it would change as the days go on, insisting to Leyla it was all part of the business world.

He even made phone calls to check it was all okay – but Leyla didn’t seem convinced.

Might Leyla finally get through to Eric, but when he tries to change his mind, things get violent?

Leyla may perhaps find herself trying to protect Pollard and his life’s savings by taking things into her own hands.

Not only could that result in a major death for her, but also the aftermath would be particularly hard-hitting for Eric. Especially as he deals with his Parkinson’s alongside.

With a history of violence - could Ella be how Leyla dies?
As Leyla’s death is heavily rumoured, could Ella get rid of her? (Credit: ITV)

    Ella to kill her?

While the potential Emmerdale death is being kept under wraps, speculation from viewers shows that Ella could potentially kill Leyla.

In recent episodes, Ella’s stalking of Liam has continued to amplify, and when she finally realised he and Chas were together, she did not look pleased.

Viewers will remember before Liam and Chas, for a long time there was Liam and Leyla. The couple were even married at one point, but after they both had individually stressful years, they called time on their love story in 2022.

But that doesn’t mean Ella won’t see her as a threat to her happiness. It’s been very clear that she wants Liam, and doesn’t like being lied to.

Ella is no stranger to violence, as it was revealed that at the age of 11 she murdered her childhood confidante Joanne. And while she hasn’t shown her murderous side in the village, could she be about to strike again?

Fans certainly think it’s a possibility. One wrote: “I think Ella will kill her as she will view her as a threat. Ella will get jealous and want her out of the way.”

Of course Liam is currently with Chas, as Ella has just found out, so could Chas also find herself in Ella’s firing line?

Obviously at the moment it’s just speculation as to how Leyla will leave the village forever, but out of all the possible theories, these two seem quite likely…

  • Fears for new fan favourite DS Foy amid calls to move him to the village

Fears for new fan favourite DS Foy amid calls to move him to the village

Sometimes in soaps fans become connected with recurring guest characters, and want them to stay longer. That’s exactly what has happened with Emmerdale detective DS Foy.

Over the last few weeks the policeman has made it his mission to bring Tom down.

From the very moment he heard Belle’s domestic abuse allegations, it was clear he believed her.

Fans want DS Foy to stay - but worry he will turn evil

    Detective Foy’s character

From fighting in her corner the whole way, even while Tom continued to scheme against them all, it’s no surprise fans are calling for DS Foy to be a regular character.

But as the fan requests continue, some have admitted they don’t want him to become too regular – purely because they love his character too much.

On a Reddit thread, Emmerdale fans discussed the potential of having DS Foy around. And they raised their fears.

It’s not uncommon for Emmerdale characters to begin as a much-loved person, but then as the storylines go on, change their behaviours to keep them relevant.

Sometimes the soap finds itself looking for ways to keep things dramatic, and in the process they may ruin the reasons we love certain characters or couples.

This is not what fans want for DS Foy.

Fans worry for Emmerdale’s DS Foy

The creator of the thread admitted: “He’s got to stick around, he’s brilliant!”

Not long after, many fans were agreeing, but they had their reservations.

One commented: “I agree that he is a great character – but the writers wouldn’t know what to do with him and we’ve already had the whole police officer living in the village thing with Harriet.”

Viewers will remember that Harriet lived in the village from 2013 up until her death in 2022.

Another fan responded, suggesting: “He doesn’t have to live there – he could just become a recurring character.”

While a third fan agreed they would love to see more of them, they worried the writers could turn him into a villain as they wouldn’t know what else to do.

“I like him. But that’s why I don’t want him to live in the village. They always make the coppers who live in the village dirty”, they wrote.

With Tom finally being caught out, we could see DS Foy’s time in Emmerdale begin to wind down, but hopefully this storyline isn’t the last we see of him.

Emmerdale fans rejoice as Tom King is taken down in a ‘really great’ plot twist: ‘Best episode in a long time’

It finally happened. Despite thinking he could run away, Emmerdale’s Tom King was stopped and arrested by DS Foy last night – in what some fans are calling the ‘best episode in a long time’.

Fans have been desperate for Belle to get the justice she deserved. And after Emmerdale released a trailer for this week’s episodes, many hoped it was a sign the end was in sight.

Earlier this week, Belle was given the good news that Tom was charged for his crimes. But knowing her scheming husband, she knew he would be up to something, and that he wasn’t going to go down without a fight.

Released on bail, Tom thought he could continue to manipulate Jimmy into letting him live there, but even his uncle had caught on to the man he really is. And after a long conversation with Belle, Jimmy knew he couldn’t let Tom back in his life.

With everybody turning their back on him, Tom decided he had to flee the village. After giving Amelia false information regarding where he was going, Tom set off.

But the Emmerdale villain couldn’t resist having another attempt at terrorising Belle when he spotted her on the street – and this proved to be his downfall.

Belle acted like she was letting him go, but in reality she slotted her own phone in his belongings, meaning he was now trackable.

Tom was then caught by DS Foy right before he got the chance of escaping, and Emmerdale fans are over the moon with the plot twist.

Fans react to Emmerdale Tom King’s arrest

Viewers took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the ending of the episode.

One fan praised: “So happy Belle finally outsmarted Tom. She’s going to get the outcome she deserves.”

Another wrote: “That was the best episode of Emmerdale in a long time. Congratulations to all involved.”

“This plot twist is amazing. Belle is a legend for confronting Tom and putting her phone in his bag. Really glad everyone has found out how vile he really is,” a third penned.

A viewer expressed how happy they were that their theory was wrong. “I honestly thought he was going to force her into the car, pretend he was going to the police station but really take her somewhere else. I’m so glad it happened the way it did. Such a great twist.”

As Tom is finally behind bars, there’s still a chance he isn’t gone yet. As Belle said herself, she can’t see him ever pleading guilty.

Will Tom be back on our screens? Will he do the right thing and plead guilty?

Has Tom left Emmerdale for good despite his escape failing? Here’s what happens next

It all came crashing down for Tom King in tonight’s Emmerdale as he was captured while trying to flee the country. The walls were closing in and Tom knew the evidence was against him, so decided to leave – only for Belle and DS Foy to team up and bring him to justice – and hopefully, to jail.

But is this the last we will see of Tom in Emmerdale now he is behind bars? He’s broken his bail, so we can’t see him getting it again any time soon seeing as he is a proven flight risk. So what now – will he just disappear off-screen?

    Not likely!

What happened to Tom in Emmerdale tonight

After being arrested and charged on Wednesday November 27, Tom arrived back from the police station tonight (Thursday November 28) shouting and raving about how he was innocent.

But this time, uncle Jimmy did not believe him. He kicked Tom out and despite Tom attempting several forms of manipulation including framing Belle, emotional blackmail and finally rage, Jimmy stood firm.

So Tom decided to resort to Plan B – escaping the country to Saudi Arabia with the help of his solicitor mate, Ollie. He asked for Amelia’s help in getting away, stole Kerry’s car and confidently drove off.

However he made a huge mistake when he couldn’t help but stop to taunt Belle.

Tom and Belle had a final showdown

He brazenly admitted he was running away and laughed that she would never get justice. But Belle Dingle was too smart to let him manipulate her. As he commented she had “found her voice” she said she’d just “had enough”.

He tried being aggressive, but she still didn’t give in. Eventually she walked away. He shouted he loved her, but she didn’t turn back.

Tom then got himself a fake passport, headed to the ferry terminal and waited to board a vessel to Rotterdam. However what he didn’t know was that during their confrontation Belle had slipped her phone into his bag. She gave the details to the police who tracked the device and rushed to catch him.

Tom’s smug smile as he thought he’d got away with it was soon wiped off his face when DS Foy arrived at the ferry port!

Tom tried to run, he screamed, he fought, he kicked, but there was no escaping justice and he was arrested for breaking his bail and carted away.

Has Tom left Emmerdale for good?

Well, the short answer is no. But don’t worry, we don’t have to wait too long for the final chapter of this story.

Earlier this month, Emmerdale confirmed a special hour-long episode to air in December. It will highlight the real-life voices of domestic abuse victims and survivors.

And with the special episode, the stage will be set for Belle’s harrowing storyline to reach its conclusion.

“When we first embarked on this journey we knew we wanted to show domestic abuse, coercive control and manipulation in all its guises,” said Emmerdale Producer Laura Shaw.

“We knew from the outset that Belle would need some sort of closure on Tom and we know our Emmerdale audience always look forward to our villains getting their comeuppance. We don’t want to spoil the outcome of this story and reveal what will happen to Tom, but needless to say, Belle’s going to be in a much better place by this Christmas.”

Emmerdale has worked closely with New Beginnings Peer Support – a domestic abuse charity.

“When Emmerdale explained they hoped to include the real life testimonies of domestic abuse victims and survivors within these scenes we knew it would be the truest way for them to authentically close this storyline,” explained Lindsay Oliver, the CEO of the charity. “We hope these final episodes will continue to raise awareness about domestic abuse, controlling relationships and the fact there is help out there.”

When does Tom’s final episode air?

There’s a few weeks to wait before we finally see the end of Tom King. Emmerdale has not confirmed an exact date. However, speculation suggests it will all conclude on Thursday December 19. And when it comes, it’s set to be brilliant.

  • Ella’s stalking intensifies and fans reckon she’s going to make them pay for lying to her

Ella’s stalking intensifies and fans reckon she’s going to make them pay for lying to her

Chas and Liam have pursued a relationship and are sneaking around behind Ella Forster’s back in Emmerdale.

However, Ella’s certainly suspicious after catching the pair chatting together in the Woolpack last night (Wednesday, November 27).

And, with Ella clearly being very obsessed with the Dales doctor, fans have become concerned that Ella may make a sinister move to get revenge on the couple following on from her split from Liam. Eek!

Ella Forster’s obsession with Liam in Emmerdale

Currently in the Dales, Liam and Chas are trying to keep their relationship a secret to cushion the blow for Ella a bit after her recent split from Liam.

But, this hasn’t stopped the pair from confessing their love to each other, oh no it hasn’t.

Ella smells a rat though, because she watches Liam’s every move and knows when something is off. Creepy.

With Liam failing to take on a newly scheduled appointment at the surgery last night, Ella wondered where Liam was off to. Liam also told her that he’d be going on a home visit. Lies. All lies.

Ella had no idea that Liam was actually with Chas (or maybe she had a very good idea but didn’t want to let on just yet!) Well, she worked out he was lying though after going to the extreme length of calling up Liam’s patient and realising he hadn’t just been to visit her after all.

Things were super awkward when Ella spotted Liam and Chas talking in the pub. But, how long will it take her to rumble their relationship? Will she just accept that Liam’s moved on? We think not…

Ella to get revenge on Liam and Chas?

We all know that Ella is no saint. She has a rather dark past, and that’s on killing her childhood best friend out of jealousy.

Now, we have a slight inkling that Ella might just be extremely jealous of Chas when she inevitably finds out about her dating Liam. She’s not one for sharing, that Ella.

But, what happens when Ella gets jealous? Bad things happen. And, fans are now really worried that Ella may attempt to make Liam and Chas pay for their loved-up ways.

One fan feared: “Something tells me Ella is going to go full psycho on Chas and Liam.”

A second person added: “The psycho in Ella is coming out…”

A third fan wondered: “Is Ella going to do another murder?” Chas and Liam, watch out!

  • Why are they still here?: 6 characters who should leave the village for pastures new

Why are they still here?: 6 characters who should leave the village for pastures new

In Emmerdale, there are a fair few characters that are sticking around in the village despite having hardly any ties.

With Amelia Spencer soon to be leaving the soap, we’ve compiled a list of everyone who could do with starting afresh somewhere else.

    Jai looks shocked on Emmerdale
Jai’s family has all gone (Credit: ITV)

    1. Jai

Jai used to be at the centre of the village, running the sweet factory with Rishi. The Sharmas – Jai, Rishi, Nikhil and Priya used to be a key family in the soap but now they’ve all moved away or have died out.

With Suni and Amit leaving the village earlier this year, Jai only really has Archie left now who he could easily take with him on his travels should he leave.

Now that his marriage with Laurel has ended, what’s really keeping Jai around?

Manpreet smiles at Liam at the surgery

    2. Manpreet

Don’t get us wrong, we do love Manpreet but she’s only really seen in the surgery these days. And, well, she’s not the villagers’ go-to GP either. Sadly, Dr Liam is always the one people call when in need of a check up.

Manpreet doesn’t have any ties left to the village, but perhaps she’s sticking around so that one day… there just might… be a reason for her sister Meena to return. Wishful thinking?

Emmerdale characters who should leave: 3. Jacob

Jacob’s not really been seen much recently, focusing on his studies rather than being at the centre of the drama.

However, with Leyla soon rumoured to be leaving the soap and with his dad David having already departed, it would make sense for Jacob to broaden his horizons and move somewhere else to pursue his dream medical career.

    4. Suzy

Suzy looks like she could be single-handedly running Take A Vow now that reports of Leyla’s exit have circulated.

But, other than her rarely seen relationship with Vanessa, is the village really the right place for Suzy? Could she expand her wedding business empire somewhere else? We’re just not really convinced she has much of a place in the village.

Emmerdale characters who should leave: 5. Ella

Ella came into the village almost a year ago after befriending Mandy, but that friendship hardly gets any screen time.

Other than being utterly obsessed with Liam who has now dumped her for Chas, Ella’s not really wanted by the other villagers and we’re struggling to see the point of her at the moment ourselves.

The character has potential, but if we were in Ella’s shoes, we’d have been long gone.

Nurse Wendy is dating Bob (Credit: ITV)
Time to say goodbye? (Credit: ITV)

    6. Wendy

Wendy’s got a grandson in the village, but what else has she got? If we’re honest, she’ll forever be associated with her very icky affair with Liam and we’re constantly reminded of this every time we seen her on our screens.

Should Wendy just pack up her things and go? What’s stopping her?
