Fans of Emmerdale have complained that star Paula Lane is being ‘wasted’ in the soap as Ella Forster. Poor Ella hasn’t had an easy time of it since returning to the village – with Liam struggling to make up his mind between her and Chas.
Liam ultimately did make his choice, and it was one which left Ella out in the cold, dumped by the doctor as he decided to go for Chas instead.
To add insult to injury, Liam also told Ella that she needed to find a new job too – making her jobless as well as single. And, as a loved-up Liam and Chas took their relationship to the next level last night (Wednesday, November 6) it appeared that Liam felt no regrets over his decision.

Emmerdale fans predict ‘wasted’ Ella to turn ‘psycho’
As scenes between Chas and Liam aired, fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the soap’s treatment of Ella – and one fan thought its star deserved better.
“Paula Lane is being completely wasted as Ella. Our Kylie was brilliant,” said one fan, referring to her past role as Kyle Platt in Coronation Street.
Meanwhile, others wondered how Ella might take the news that Liam had dumped her for Chas.
“Liam is boring when he isn’t being a dishonest wimp – Ella should kill him for the bants when she finds out she was ditched for Chas,” one viewer joked.
“Wait till Ella finds out about Liam and Chas,” warned another.
“They are so lovely! But the minute she said the sky could fall in and she wouldn’t notice… she tempted soap fate! Ella will turn psycho you just know it!” said a third.

Ella’s history as Liam and Chas seal the deal
Last night’s episode of the soap saw Liam and Chas grow closer as he nipped around with flowers, new clothes and a dash of aftershave. When Chas opened up to him about her vulnerability following her cancer surgery, Liam was quick to allay her fears.

Back in November 2023, James shared the news he and Sophie were getting married in exactly a year on his social media. And although he has not posted any pictures or mention of the big day on his socials, he has updated his bio.
On his Instagram bio, it now reads as: “Actor. Artist. Disabled. Husband to @sophie_edwxrds.” Sophie’s account is private, but she has changed her handle to @sophiedawnmoore, seemingly confirmed she has taken the actor’s name now they’re wed.

Previous wedding update
Back in September, James gave fans an update on how things were coming along with the wedding planning. He wrote on Instagram:
“Can’t believe that it’s less than two months until me and Soph get married!! Time has only flown so quickly, but I like to think that we are well prepared. We made our wedding rings last week at @wyemade and it felt so special and unique and was another reminder that I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my favourite person,” he wrote.
The actor’s update also came alongside a polaroid snap of him and Sophie together, showing off their freshly-made wedding bling.
Fans and co-stars were then quick to congratulate the happy c0uple.
This included co-star Ash Palmisciano, who plays Matty Barton on the soap.He wrote: “beautiful,” followed by a heart-shaped emoji.
“Nothing better than finding your soulmate. Congratulations on your up and coming wedding,” added one fan.
Stag do joy for Emmerdale star James Moore
Meanwhile, the nuptials come after James celebrated his stag do. Pictured by a tent in some woods, James said: “Stag weekend was amazing!! Thank you so much to all my friends who came together and put on the most amazing weekend. This is one I will remember forever.”
Among his stags was co-star Ash who also commented it had been “such an amazing weekend”.
Fans of Emmerdale have been left overjoyed at the coupling of Liam and Chas – but have predicted that their newfound happiness will be short-lived.
Last night’s episode of the soap saw Chas and Liam looking loved-up at last. Liam was eager to give his all to their new relationship, turning up with flowers, new aftershave and sweet words for Chas. Chas was less sure, feeling self-conscious after her recent cancer surgery. However, Liam was quick to reassure her that he’d give her all the time she needs.

Emmerdale fans predict trouble ahead for Liam and Chas
Fans were happy to see Liam and Chas together, but some spotted bad omens in one of Chas’s remarks.
“They are so lovely! But the minute she said the sky could fall in and she wouldn’t notice… she tempted soap fate! Ella will turn psycho you just know it!” wrote one fan.
“Wait till Ella finds out about Liam and Chas,” said another.
“When they finally tell everyone I hope Ella kills them,” a third joked.

What next for Liam and Chas?
Fireworks have been flying for Liam and Chas for months now – but they haven’t made life easy for themselves.
Specifically, Doctor Liam reconciling with ex Ella since her return to the village. Liam has found it hard to be open and honest with Ella about his intentions – and his feelings for Chas, due to their past and a sense of pity for her.
Since dumping Ella this week, Liam has gone all in on his relationship with Chas – but how will Ella react when she learns who he dumped her for?

Emmerdale is currently airing some long-running storylines that are not hitting the mark. It’s fair to say fans are fed-up with it – and it’s not the first time plots have failed to impress.
So what other storylines do you remember that didn’t capture your attention? We’ve rounded up the ones lots of Emmerdale fans are talking about.
Tom’s terrible behaviour is bothering fans (Credit: ITV)
The current storylines in Emmerdale
Although Tom’s abusive behaviour towards Belle started off as a masterpiece in soap storytelling, many viewers are getting fed-up. The consensus is that it has dragged on too long and Tom needs to get his comeuppance now.
Sadly, in real life, this sort of behaviour would not be over in a heartbeat, but soaps do have the gift of being able to speed things up or slow things down as they so wish. Fans are now really annoyed and have regularly aired their frustrations over Tom on social media.
“Tom will have arranged all of this… boring storyline,” said one after the Guy storyline on Tuesday November 5.
Another addressed the soap itself: “Dear Emmerdale, wanted to let you know the storyline has become a joke and it’s kind of insensitive to people who go through DV. I mean Tom was banged to rights but you’re doing everything to make him evade justice so now the storyline is boring.”
“The story of Tom is starting to get boring when will he get exposed?” sighed one more.
Meanwhile, Billy, Ross and the illegal fights aren’t fairing much better!
“All this bare knuckle fighting, plastic gangster business would be laughable if it wasn’t so boring,” joked one on X.
Another agreed: “All this fighting stuff needs to stop now. Silly storyline…”
“Emmerdale too much gloom and doom now. This fighting stuff is one of the worst stories ever,” said a third.
Other storylines that have failed in Emmerdale
It’s not the first time fans haven’t been happy with the on-screen antics. In fact they are now discussing it on a Reddit thread: just which storylines have failed to hit the mark?
Good riddance to a bad plot (Credit: ITV)
1. Amit’s whole storyline arc in Emmerdale
Rishi died in a shock move by the soap last year. At the time it seemed he fell down the stairs. However, when his brother Amit arrived, it was revealed he had actually pushed Rishi to his death. They were rowing about inheritance money.
Rishi, a fan favourite, is sorely missed. Amit meanwhile, was evil and unlikable and it was never really clear whether he actually cared about his family or just money.
In the end, Jai found out the truth, pushed Amit down the stairs, locked him up for a few days, then blackmailed him to leave. And he did.
“They killed off great Rishi for that [bleep],” said one fan.
Jessie and Marlon’s wedding day fizzled out – like their marriage (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock)
2. Marlon and Jessie
Remember Marlon’s fourth wife, Jessie Grant? We barely do! But let us refresh your memory. Jessie was Leo’s headteacher, but she was on the rebound from a previous relationship. However there were sparks (we must have missed them) between her and Marlon and they got together and then had a surprise Christmas wedding.
Tensions between Jessie’s sons Ellis and Billy as well as the arrival of her ex, Al Chapman, caused trouble and Jessie decided to leave for a new job in Dubai. Arguably the most emotional part of the whole thing was how little April reacted to losing yet another ‘mother’.
“Zero chemistry from them and therefore zero interest from me,” said one fan.
Another agreed: “Crazy to think that they even gave Marlon and Jessie a big Christmas Day wedding and by the following Christmas they’d already split up!”
Where did Jacob and Victoria go? Nowhere (Credit: ITV)
3. Jacob and Victoria’s romance
They fought against all odds to be together, their love could not be stopped even though they knew it was wrong. And then suddenly Victoria no longer loved Jacob, actually she never had really at all, and she dumped him. It was all a bit for nothing, wasn’t it?
It was scandalous given Victoria had been his sort-of former stepmother, dating his stepdad David. But actually the age difference between her and David was more than that between her and Jacob. We could almost get on board with them falling for each other.
The reactions of their families were also dramatic with David leaving, Pollard struggling to come to terms with it and Leyla not happy at all. But then within weeks Victoria decided it wasn’t right, all the gushing she’d done was actually not real and she dumped Jacob. He’s barely been seen since!
“The Jacob and Victoria romance – where even is he, anyway?” asked one viewer.
Rhona fought and fought for Ivy, now where is she? (Credit: ITV)
4. The Rhona and Ivy storyline in Emmerdale
Rhona Goskirk was completely thrown (as you would be) when she discovered her ex-husband Gus had used their frozen embryos without her permission to have a baby with his new wife, Lucy. Sadly, Lucy died in childbirth and Rhona made it her single-minded mission to get custody of baby Ivy.
It threatened her entire marriage to Marlon, which was left hanging by a thread. She even went on the run with the baby so as not to give her up and ended up in court on kidnap charges. Then she betrayed the deal she’d made with Gus, tore him apart at his fraud trial and got him sentenced to eight years. Thus, giving her custody of Ivy.
That is Ivy who we’ve not seen or heard about since.
There was never going to be any winners in this storyline and all it served to do was make a previously favoured character disliked.
“Rhona getting custody of Ivy went on forever and now you never see her,” said one fan.

Ross Barton is back in Emmerdale and stirring up trouble for Charity and Mack. But despite fans having beef with Mack himself, they have overwhelmingly voted for Charity to stay with her husband and not go back to baby daddy Ross.
Charity pushed Ross away when he kissed her, but it was clear she was tempted (Credit: ITV)
Ross and Charity have a ‘connection’
On Monday night (November 4) Ross put the moves on Charity, but she rebuffed him. However, it was clear she was tempted – ever heard the saying ‘the lady doth protest too much’?!
Ross is confident they have a connection and told Mackenzie as much on Tuesday (November 5). There’s no doubt Ross was enjoying winding Mack up as the Scotsman continued to patronise and belittle him. He even joked things between him and Charity were like “fireworks”, which riled Mack so much he stormed home to confront his wife.
Charity confessed Ross had kissed her, but insisted she had set him straight and he knows it’s never going to happen. That wasn’t good enough for Mackenzie who vowed to kill Ross. Because that’s worked so well for him in the past – how many times has Ross overpowered him now?!
Desperate to save her hubby from getting a pasting, Charity cornered Ross and told him to stop playing games. She said she was the only one in his corner, so he needed to stop winding her husband up.

Fans don’t want a Ross and Charity reunion in Emmerdale
Those watching at home certainly don’t want Charity to cheat on Mack with Ross.
In an exclusive poll run by Emmerdale Insider, a whooping 92 percent of you want Charity and Mackenzie to stick it out. So it seems Ross is not the man for her. In fact, fans have done a U-turn on Mack and how they feel sorry for him over Ross’s behaviour.
Last night, Charity and Mack made up and insisted Ross couldn’t touch them. They are apparently “unbreakable” – which is always a giant red flag that something is about to break them!
Will it be Ross? Or will Emmerdale listen to the fans and keep this couple together?
A happy couple in Emmerdale? Now that would be a first!

Emmerdale star Daisy Campbell has landed a new role outside of the soap. This follows recent news that Daisy will be leaving the soap after thirteen years of playing Amelia Spencer.
According to The Mirror, producers told a shocked Daisy that they would be writing Amelia out of the soap during a meeting earlier this year.
While the soap hasn’t revealed details of Amelia’s exit, Daisy has wasted little time in putting herself out there – appearing on the Big Brother spin-off Late & Live last night (Monday, October 4).

Emmerdale star Daisy Campbell makes appearance in new role
Daisy showed up on the Big Brother spin-off as a panelist alongside YouTuber Zeze Millz and ex-housemate Henry Southan.
“All the way from Emmerdale Farm and ready to dish the dirt, it’s Daisy Campbell!” host Will Best exclaimed as he introduced Daisy to the studio audience.
Together with co-host AJ Odudu, Will and the group went on to discuss the latest happenings from inside the Big Brother house. And Daisy seemed to be in fine spirits indeed – a world away from Emmerdale and Tom’s manipulation.

When will Daisy Campbell leave Emmerdale?
In an interview with The Mirror, Daisy explained why she was leaving the soap.
“It wasn’t my choice to leave Emmerdale and it was a shock at first. Being in Emmerdale is all I have ever known. I’ve spent the whole of my childhood growing up in the soap and it felt daunting,” she said.
“Once they explained, I totally got it. Amelia isn’t part of the Dingles, her dad has left, Samson has gone now and she doesn’t have any family. There is nowhere to take Amelia and I understand that. I feel incredibly lucky to have been in the soap for 13 years and to have been handed so many opportunities at such a young age.”
Daisy’s final scenes on the soap will air this Christmas.

Emmerdale fans have predicted that an affair between Nicola and Bob is on the cards – and that scheming Tom could use it to his sinister advantage.
Last night’s episode of the soap (Monday, November 4), saw Nicola share a tender moment with Bob. This came after her daughter Angel’s return to the village. Bob set aside his heartbreak to tell Nicola that Angel was struggling since her return from the STC – and planned not to go back to school either.
And even if not, one fan theory predicted that manipulative Tom could use Bob to drive a wedge between Nicola and Jimmy.

Emmerdale fans predict Tom will use Nicola and Bob ‘affair’ to his own advantage
Writing on X as the scene aired, fans shared their thoughts on where Bob and Nicola‘s tender moment might be headed.
“Nicola, be careful hugging Bob in public. Tom will lay it on thick with Jimmy and convince him (though it won’t take much) that she’s having a fling,” suggested one worried viewer.
“Hear me out… Nicola and Bob affair incoming?” asked a second.
“Please put Bob and Nicola together even if it’s just to sicken Jimmy,” joked another.
However, others saw the scene for what it was – a warmer moment shared between two struggling parents. After all, Bob has recently lost son Heath due to Angelica’s actions.
“Well it’s good to see Nicola Wheeler get some material to dig into. That scene with Nicola and Bob was fantastic…” another fan said.
As Bob gave Nicola a shoulder to cry on (very good of him, given what Angel had actually done), viewers sensed there could be more to it and begged the soap not to go there.

How will Emmerdale conclude the saga of Tom King? For months now, frustrated viewers have watched as terrible Tom has tormented wife Belle – first during their marriage, and now in the aftermath of his being exposed as an abuser.
While Tom’s secret is out now, he’s still denying it all. He’s even faked being beaten up to keep uncle Jimmy on side. But with the Dingles shouting of Tom’s guilt from the rooftops, and Nicola increasingly convinced too, it’s clear he’s facing a losing battle.
But how will Tom’s story end?
Fans of the soap have predicted that this is all headed for a classic Christmas whodunnit – with Emmerdale setting things up for a ‘Who Killed Tom King mark Two.’

Emmerdale fans predict Tom King whodunnit is coming
Writing on a Reddit thread, one fan said: “I could honestly see ’em redoing who killed Tom King number two for Christmas. It fits perfectly, 18 years on from his granddad. And Belle’s birthday is also on Christmas. I’m pretty sure it would link up very well?”
“Kim’s horse is shining his hooves ready for action,” joked another – referring to the death of rapist Craig, who had been done in by Kim Tate’s horse – resolving the soap’s last whodunnit.
“Are they gonna do a who killed Tom?” asked a third, over on X.
“This storyline is going to end with a ‘who killed Tom’ ending. So many suspects from Cain to Isaac. But I think it’ll be Amelia,” said another.
Will the next attack on Tom be the last? (Credit: ITV/YouTube)
Who killed Tom King? No, not that one
Such a storyline would follow in the footsteps of Classic Emmerdale‘s Who Killed Tom King storyline of 2006. This saw family patriarch Tom defenestrated (pushed out of a window, to you and I) – with his three sons and new wife as prime suspects.
This carried on for five months, when the killer was finally revealed. As Matthew and Jimmy fought it out – with Matthew accusing Jimmy of killing their dad – Carl confessed the truth.
Carl had whacked his dad over the head in a fit of frustration, after Tom attempted to force him to split up with Chas with the threat of disinheritance. As Tom grabbed on to his son, Carl pushed him away – causing him to fall out of the window.

Fans of Emmerdale have found themselves conflicted for ‘poor Mack’ after Ross leaned in for a kiss with Charity. Ross has only been back in the village all of five minutes, but he didn’t waste much time in making his move.
Charity spurned her former lover, but the chemistry between the pair was undeniable. And, as the pair shared a quick kiss last night (Monday, November 4), viewers took that as all the confirmation they needed that an affair is nigh.
But where does this leave Mack?

‘Poor Mack!’ cry Emmerdale fans as Ross makes his move
Writing on social media as the scenes aired, fans shared their horror at the thought of a Charity and Ross reunion. And many felt pity for Mack, who is sure to be left out in the cold by a potential Ross and Charity reconciliation.
“He’s playing Charity … again. She will fall for his charms deffo! Poor Mack!” cried one fan.
“Nooooo please don’t do this to Charity and Mack,” said another.
“Course it was coming poor Mack,” said a third.
“No! No! No! Don’t split another couple up!” a fourth horrified viewer begged.
Mack hasn’t always been the most popular with viewers (Credit: ITV)
Poor Mack?
Mack – often dubbed ‘Mackrat’ on social media – may be playing the ideal husband and father at the moment, but it was only last year that he had Charity in a state over his cheating with Chloe.
Fathering a child after a one-night stand, Mack then lied about his infidelity for months on end. And, once the truth came out, he then played both women for fools, (somehow) reuniting with Charity amid the new life he’d built with Chloe and Rueben.
Somehow, Charity managed to forgive and forget and so, it appears, did many viewers.

Emmerdale fans were delighted with the familiar face of Ross Barton returning to the Dales, but now they’re calling for a relationship shake-up for Charity and Mack.
Ross and Charity definitely have a connection, with Charity being the mother of his child. While she has since moved on with Mack – who is NOT Ross’ biggest fan – fans are asking for him to step down.
Adding to this, actor Mike Parr has hinted at what’s to come between Ross and Charity. Could this be the end of Mack and Charity?
Last week’s episodes of the soap (Monday, October 28) revealed that Ross is back in town, showing up as Billy’s opponent in the underground fight club he’s recently gotten himself involved with.
Upon hearing of his return, Mack made his views very clear. He does not like Ross, and wants him to stay away from Charity and Moses. Ross even punched Mack, who insisted on winding him up (what’s new?!).
The pair made sure Moses was out of the house on his return, but that didn’t stop Ross from coming over. He dropped a few bombshells, including news that Rebecca had passed away.
She died during a routine surgery. Last night (Thursday, October 31) Ross revealed that Bex’s son Seb had gone to live with one of Rebecca’s relatives – leaving him as a single man.
Elsewhere, actor Mike Parr teased a potential reunion for Ross and the mother of his son, Moses: “You really can’t hate somebody who’s doing a great job of raising your most beloved possession.
“But it’s Ross, and it’s Charity. There’s always going to be fireworks.”
But, where would this leave Mack?

Emmerdale fans desperate for Charity to ditch Mack for Ross
Many fans have been encouraging Charity to ditch Mack so that she can focus on Ross.
One X viewer expressed: “Just watched tonight’s ED and wish I hadn’t because the Charity/Mack scenes made me feel sick and my day is now ruined. Also Mack making out he’s father of the century. Wake up, Charity!”Â
Another replied: “Truly abysmal! Dad of the year Mack talking about parenting after how he treated Chloe and Reuben. He’s zapped the sense and logic out of Charity’s character, awaiting her to come to her senses!”
“Charity used to be such a complex character, now it seems she’s there just to mother Mack,” wrote a third.
A fourth person added: “The difference in chemistry between Charity/Ross, and Charity/Mack is insane. I’ll never understand why Emmerdale stuck her with Mack long term, [bleep] awful decision!”
