So, is that the end of Rose then? What’s to come after THAT flashback episode

In yesterday’s episode (Monday, August 26), Emmerdale finally revealed the truth about Rose and her disappearance.

Until now, fans did not know if Rose was dead or alive after she went missing earlier this month. But now a flashback episode has cleared everything up.

Here’s everything you need to know about where Rose has been.

    What happened to Rose?

In the lead up to Rose’s disappearance, Kim Tate figured out that Rose and Ruby had been working together in an attempt to bring her down.

Kim being Kim wouldn’t stand for such treachery and ordered Rose to pack her bags and leave Home Farm. But as is often the case, things spiralled out of control and Rose ended up trapped in the boot of Will’s car.

Will and Kim let Rose go at the side of the road, handing her cash and warning her to stay away.

However, once Will and Kim had gone, viewers saw an SUV pull up alongside Rose and the contents of Rose’s purse were then shown strewn all over the grass, leaving viewers to speculate about what had happened to her.

The truth about Rose is revealed

Last night, it was revealed that Rose’s daughter Dawn had lied to dad Will about son Evan needing a bone marrow transplant. It was just a ploy to see how long Will would continue to lie about his involvement in Rose’s disappearance.

In a further twist, yesterday’s episode revealed Dawn had actually been the one driving the mystery SUV. The truth came out after Dawn confronted her father for “weeks of lying.”

Flashbacks showed Rose confessing to Dawn that Ruby had been paying her to assist her in getting revenge on Kim. However, Rose insisted that she did love her daughter.

Will asked Dawn if she knew where Rose was. Dawn responded by throwing a wad of money at her dad. Further flashbacks showed Rose telling Dawn the truth about being thrown in the boot of the car and being paid to leave by Will and Kim. Rose then gave her daughter the money.

In the present day, Dawn explained that she’d taken her mum to the airport so she could start fresh. Dawn called her dad an “embarrassment” after he’d failed to act despite thinking Kim could have killed Rose.

Dawn moved out of Home Farm and warned her dad to stay away.

    Will we see Rose again?

Viewers know that there is still one secret that has yet to come out – Rose and Will’s night of passion. So could Rose return to spill the beans to Kim?

Spoilers for next week see Will adamant that Rose is his blackmailer and he decides to call the mystery number. He shouts down the phone, warning the tormentor to give up.

However, later he sees a video of Rose in Ibiza and realises that when he rung the mystery number there was no international dialling tone.

He is then faced with deep fake videos and porn images with his and Rose’s faces on them alongside a demand for £10k.

Who knows his secret and will they tell all?

    1. Will is hiding secrets about Rose

Rose is still missing and suspicions are starting to mount over her disappearance. Viewers will remember Rose vanished into thin air after her plot to destroy Kim was exposed.

Part of that plot involved Rose seducing Will into bed, an encounter which he instantly regretted. Kim then discovered Rose and Ruby were conspiring against her and informed Will.

The couple ordered Rose out of their lives and abandoned her by the side of a countryside road. She was then picked up by vehicle and later her belongings were seen strewn across the road. It looked as if Rose had met a sinister fate. And someone out there knows what really happened.

Could that person be Will? He and Kim definitely know more than they’re letting on.

    2. Dawn drops a shock bombshell

With Kim away in Dubai, Will has been trying his best to hold it together.

But Dawn is growing increasingly concerned for Rose’s wellbeing. Will was able to dissuade his daughter from hiring a private detective, but she now wants to report Rose to the police as a missing person.

As Will tries to figure out a way to stop this happening, Dawn drops a bombshell. She tells her dad Evan might need a bone marrow transplant and Rose could be a match.

The realisation that his grandson’s future might hinge on finding Rose leaves Will wracked with guilt.

    3. Will writes a text on Rose’s phone

As Will continues to reel over Dawn’s news, his thoughts turn back to Rose.

Making sure he’s alone, Will retrieves Rose’s phone which he has hidden at Home Farm. Why exactly he’s got her mobile is another question that needs answering.

Will listens to a pleading voicemail message from Dawn which makes him feel sick with worry. He tries to contact Kim again, but will she answer?

Later, Will’s desperation leads him to compose a message on Rose’s phone. Is the text meant for Dawn? What does it say? And how much longer can Will carry on living a lie? The net is closing in…

It’s the moment Mandy has been waiting for as she prepares to say I do to man of her dreams. But across the village, Paddy is having serious doubts.

Paddy discovered the truth from his father Bear, who overheard Mandy in conversation with one of her clients. Bear then confronted Mandy, who promised she’d turn her back on the seedy side hustle and be faithful to his son. But it was yet another fib, which Bear proved by posing as an online admirer to catch her out.

Refusing to let Paddy be taken for a fool, Bear came clean to his son. Paddy’s now got to decide to what to do and work out if Mandy is the one for him.

Over at Tenants, Bear doesn’t hold back in expressing his disapproval over Mandy’s betrayal. Marlon, however, tries to stick up for his cousin, pointing out she must have been desperate to take up sex work. The pair end up at each other’s throats, but their quarrel is interrupted by an announcement from Paddy.

After going back and forth, the vet has reached his decision. He DOESN’T want to marry Mandy!

Now dressed in her wedding outfit, the bride shares an emotional moment with Vinny. But their happiness is short-lived when Bear enters the Salon. Revealing he was her secret caller, Bear also declares Paddy knows everything about Mandy’s findom business.

The humiliation is real, and Mandy knows she’s got some serious grovelling to do. She dashes across the village to apologise to Paddy. But will sorry be enough to change his mind about the wedding? Is the best day of Mandy’s life about to turn into her worst?

  • Bad vicars in Emmerdale: When Ethan, Ashley, Harriet and Charles went rogue!

Bad vicars in Emmerdale: When Ethan, Ashley, Harriet and Charles went rogue!

Church curate Ethan Blake is being a very bad boy in Wednesday’s Classic Emmerdale, (July 24).

In the episodes, which originally aired on October 16 and 17, 2005, the supposedly devout Christian was getting intimate with two of his female parishioners.

First, Ethan makes a move on Laurel Potts – girlfriend of his boss, Reverend Ashley Thomas, who he has a huge crush on. He goes in for a kiss during a game of Trivial Pursuit, revealing his true feelings. But unfortunately for Ethan, Laurel’s only got eyes for one man of the cloth and turns him down.

Stung by the rejection, Ethan hits the communion wine and ends up getting jiggy with Kelly Windsor. But when Laurel catches the pair in the act, Ethan cruelly brands Kelly a whore, saying he bedded her because he couldn’t have Laurel. And it’s not long before his immoral antics becomes the talk of the village.

But sleazy Ethan isn’t the only servant of God to cause a stir in Emmerdale. Let’s take a look at the other vicars, past and present, who were more sinners than saints…

    Emmerdale: Bad vicars

    Ashley Thomas

Dearly departed Ashley Thomas was considered a pillar of the community and everyone mourned his passing in 2018. But the reverend certainly wasn’t holier than thou. He was, in fact, a violent abuser.

Back in 2012, behind the closed doors of the vicarage, Ashley started beating his elderly father, Sandy. The vicar was in bad place after learning his wife Laurel had cheated on him with Marlon Dingle. But that’s no excuse for taking his rage out on a defenceless OAP.

Viewers watched on in horror as frail Sandy was subjected to numerous savage attacks at the hands of his son. The storyline finally came to a head when Laurel caught Ashley harming Sandy and he was arrested.

After that Laurel filed for divorce, Ashley quit his job, became homeless, and started working as a barman at The Woolpack.

But Sandy eventually forgave him and Ashley managed to win back the trust of those he loved. He and Laurel went on to re-marry, and remained together until his death from vascular dementia.

    Harriet Finch

As a policewoman-turned-vicar Harriet Finch really should have known right from wrong. But her lust for bad boys often clouded her judgement.

Harriet arrived in 2013 as the new vicar of St Mary’s and enjoyed a brief romance with Ashley Thomas. But it was her next choice of partner that really shocked Harriet’s flock.

In 2017, she embarked on a scandalous affair with local criminal, Cain Dingle, with romps aplenty in the vestry. Harriet was quickly drawn into Cain’s world, getting mixed up with drug dealers and even survived a stabbing. However, the relationship ultimately fizzled when Harriet realised Cain’s heart lay with soulmate, Moira Dingle.

Harriet’s past then returned to haunt her with the arrival of bent copper, DI Malone. It turned out the pair had been lovers when Harriet was working undercover to entrap drug dealer, Will Taylor.

Unable to resist temptation, Harriet fell for Malone’s charms once more and they had sex in her church. Ew!

Having had his wicked way, Malone then began waging a campaign of terror on Harriet and also Will’s daughter, Dawn. A violent confrontation led to Dawn killing Malone, but Harriet assisted in the murder and subsequent cover-up.

Consumed by guilt, Harriet quit the church and returned to policing. But she met her own grisly end in Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary episodes after getting crushed by a quad bike.

    Charles Anderson looks brooding

    Charles Anderson

Current vicar Charles Anderson has gone against the bible time and time again. Quite honestly it’s a miracle the Bishop hasn’t struck this hypocritical holy man off.

His arrival to Emmerdale on Christmas Day 2020 started off with such promise. On first impression, Charles was a kind-hearted soul, devoted to his family and faith. But it transpired he’d committed adultery, cheating on his wife, Esme, when she was in the grips of postnatal depression.

Charles was also less than charitable when it came to reconnecting with his ex-con dad, Victor. He framed his father for theft by planting a stolen necklace on his person. Victor then unexpectedly died of a heart attack, leaving Charles wracked with remorse.

The guilt manifested itself in violence and Charles appalled the locals by attacking Tom King in a drunken rage.

The recent death of his son, Ethan, has seen Charles teetering on the edge once again. Will he go over to the dark side once more?

Emmerdale spoilers: Charity knows Tom is abusing Belle – but she can’t prove it

Next week’s Emmerdale spoilers reveal that Charity Dingle has finally realised Tom King is not the all-singing, all-dancing perfect husband he claims to be. Her suspicions lead her to push Belle into revealing the truth, but Belle snaps – and hits out at the wrong person.

Afraid of her husband and a shell of herself, Belle stands her ground and rejects any offers of help.

As the other Dingle women start to suspect Charity is the one with the problem, can she make them see it’s not her, it’s him?

Emmerdale spoilers: Charity spots the signs

After Belle is tricked into leaving Tom, she soon feels under pressure by Charity, Chas, Mandy and Lydia. They bombard her with questions over her relationship with Tom. Charity is particularly ferocious and pushes Belle to be honest.

However, the overwhelming line of questioning only succeeds in angering Belle. She storms out, but Charity is nothing if not persistent and follows her.

Trying a different tack – one of kindness rather than aggression, which is new to Charity – she gently asks Belle to tell her the truth. It’s clear Belle is wavering as she tears up. However then her controller rears his ugly head.

    Belle lashes out

Suddenly spotting Tom approaching Belle is thrown into a panic. It all-but confirms Charity’s suspicions Belle is afraid of her husband.

But Belle has shut down. She aggressively shoves Charity out of the way and rushes off home in a complete panic. Charity goes to follow her, but Tom won’t have it.

Charity is left fuming – and more suspicious than ever – as Tom stops her following Belle. He insists that his wife is struggling with her mental health and demands that Charity leave her alone.

    Has Charity missed her chance?

Back at the Woolpack, the other Dingle women think that Charity might be overreacting. Charity is fuming and has to leave the room due to her frustration.

Worried she’s missed her chance to make them understand Belle is in serious trouble, can she find a way to make the family see it too?

Meanwhile, Tom is plotting once again. He wants Belle all to himself so he can exert complete control. The Dingles living in the same village makes that virtually impossible, so he sets about scheming to move him and Belle to a very, very isolated part of Wales.

Charity needs to step on it to save Belle in time. But can she do it?
