What is Emmerdale star Paige Sandhu doing now – from body transformation to playing Indian royalty

Paige Sandhu is a legend among Emmerdale fans thanks to her role as deranged Dales killer Meena Jutla.

And now she is starring in a new role, playing Indian royalty in an upcoming film, Lioness.

But it’s not just her latest role that’s got her fans interested in what Paige is up to.

So we thought we’d give you an update on what Paige Sandhu is doing now

    Paige Sandhu in Emmerdale

Paige left Emmerdale in 2022 after Meena terrorised the village for two years.  Her alter-ego Ms Jutla became one of Emmerdale’s worst serial killers, murdering Leanna Cavanagh, Ben Tucker and Andrea Tate on-screen, and with the death of her friend Nadine and her own father on her conscience too.

Her camp, gleeful, over-the-top approach to the murders and her fondness for keeping souvenirs taken from the victims had the viewers gripped.

Meena finally got sent to jail, but fans often speculate that she could come back to the village one day.

What’s Paige been up to since leaving Emmerdale?

Since leaving Emmerdale, Paige has been busy.

She landed a starring role in an upcoming major film called Lioness.

The film follows two British-Punjabi women, across two time periods. The first is Sophia Duleep Singh, who is played by Paige.

Sophia was a Punjabi princess who grew up in London after her father was exiled to Britain. Sophia became one of the leading members of the Suffragettes, fighting for women’s rights.

The film also focuses on a married woman in the 1990s called Mehak, who is played by Aditi Rao Hydari.

What else has Paige been up to?

Paige has been hitting the gym hard and last year revealed she’d been following a new workout regime that had helped her become super-fit.

“I went into this process expecting to maybe get stronger and fitter but I definitely didn’t realise how much better my sleep would be, my energy levels would be and the feeling of accomplishment I have,” she shared on her Instagram stories. “Yay! I’m excited to see the continued improvements and the feeling of taking care of myself and my body is damn damn good.”

We definitely can’t argue with that!

  • Did Tracy kill Nate in Emmerdale? Latest odds on who his killer is revealed

Did Tracy kill Nate in Emmerdale? Latest odds on who his killer is revealed

Emmerdale shocked us all by revealing a body in the lake was Nate and while everyone has a theory, could Tracy have been the one to put him there?

When Nate exited the show last year, eagle-eyed fans immediately knew something was suspect about his departure. And for months there have been countless theories suggesting he was dead, but nobody actually fully believed it. And in a huge twist during the limo lake crash – his body was under the lake.

Now that viewers are aware of this, they are watching the soap more carefully than ever, waiting for something to give a clue to who the killer is. And while it may seem out of the blue, could it have been Tracy? Here are the latest odds on who put Nate in the lake.

    Emmerdale: Did Tracy kill Nate?

As soon as it was confirmed to be Nate’s body, the theory that John Sugden is actually a serial killer looked extremely plausible. But odds suggest this may actually not be the case. And some people in the line-up are quite surprising.

According to Gambling.com expert James Leyfield, Tracy, who supposedly loved Nate, has made it to the list of suspects. And admitted the soap could pull a “double bluff”.

Her and Nate had their ups and downs (and affairs), but ultimately they did love each other. However, in the end it wasn’t enough. And as Nate decided to give up his time in the village, Tracy and him split for good.

She made a comment to John about how Nate didn’t even say goodbye. But perhaps she was actually the one who killed him and is covering her tracks. And with the birthday present for Frankie plot-hole, she would be the perfect candidate.

While she is on the list, she’s currently at the bottom, with 25/1 (3.8%) likelihood of being the murderer.

    Nate looks concerned in Emmerdale

Who are the main suspects for Nate’s murder?

Shockingly, John is not the current favourite to be the murderer. The number one spot actually goes to Caleb – Nate’s uncle.

Caleb is sitting at the top with a 6/4 (40%) chance of being responsible. But what makes viewers so convinced?

After the murder was revealed, Caleb was putting on a black hoodie leaving his house. Then not long after that, a hooded figure was standing at the lake.

And he cared about Tracy, so if he knew about her and Nate’s argument or if Nate accused him of starting up his affair with his wife again, could things have gotten out of control?

Right behind Caleb, however, is suspicious John Sugden (if that’s really his name). He sits with a 2/1 (33.3%) likelihood of being the one who killed Nate.

Ever since he first arrived fans have been adamant that he is hiding something sinister. And many assume he is a murderer. With him supposedly being the last one to see Nate alive, did he deliver the final blow?

  • As Emmerdale villagers turn on Cain, fans are ‘getting sick’ of the way he’s being treated

As Emmerdale villagers turn on Cain, fans are ‘getting sick’ of the way he’s being treated

In Emmerdale Cain continues to be public enemy number one after the revelation that he and Ruby slept together. But it seems fans are getting sick of the way he’s treated.

The limo lake crash was an extremely dramatic and heartbreaking week in the Dales. And one huge secret that came out, was Cain and Ruby’s one night stand (we all hoped it was just going to disappear).

But it’s not just Moira and Caleb who are upset with Cain, it seems to be the entire village. And fans can’t help but feel sorry for him.

    Cain Dingle annoyed in Emmerdale

    Emmerdale villagers turn on Cain

After the secret came out, Kyle turned on his dad, Matty (who is grieving Amy) tried to force Moira to leave him, and everyone else in the village seems to have something to say about it.

But in reality, it is by no means the first time someone has cheated in the village. Doing it while Moira was having brain surgery may have been the worst aspect of it, but just when it seemed fans were calling for Cain to face revenge, now they are back on his side.

Not only is his son not wanting him around, but his brother also tried to set him up for a murder that he actually had nothing to do with. And viewers have pointed out that everyone seems to be forgetting their own history in the village.

While Moira and Cain (Coira) have been a fan-favourite couple for years, it isn’t the first time they have been hit by a cheating scandal. And last time, it was a full blown affair between Moira and Cain’s son Nate – and his body is currently sinking in the lake.

    Fans defend Cain

Taking to a reddit thread one fan wrote: “I know he was wrong to cheat on Moira. But come on, does he really deserve to be boycotted by his family or be constantly shamed for it? I’m at the point of rooting for him to frame Caleb for Anthony’s murder.”

Another agreed: “I think the Moira and Nate storyline was way worse than this. I hope it will all blow over in a few weeks. And I still love Cain.”

A third simply wrote: “They are all hypocrites. So many of them have had affairs and he had a one-night stand.”

Another penned: “They really are enjoying hating on him, aren’t they? As if Moira didn’t run around of him with his own son for months.”

An angry viewer commented: “Moira I understand because it happened while she was having life threatening surgery. But we all know she will get over it eventually. But as for Caleb, he has slept with his nephew’s wife. So he can get off his high horse.”

  • Super sleuths, superheroes and super macho men – it’s been a big week in Emmerdale

Super sleuths, superheroes and super macho men – it’s been a big week in Emmerdale

It’s been another dramatic week in our Emmerdale review and once more it’s all about the men. All the men. Trying, as Chas put it early in the week, to “out-macho” one another.

There have been some fights, a bit of squaring up, a lot of shouting, a syringe full of summer fruits juice, and generally just loads of testosterone flying about all over the place.

Anyway, let’s crack open a cold beer, have a punch-up, and watch some sport. Because here’s this week’s Emmerdale review. Or should we say Men-erdale? No? Ah it was worth a shot.

    Caleb looking pouty
Pouting won’t make this any better, Caleb (Credit: ITV)

    So macho

Cain and Caleb seem to be stuck in an endless loop of arguing. At this point it seems the only resolution is for them either to decide they forgive each other and move on, or both leave the village forever, because frankly we can’t cope with all this sniping. Cain, Caleb, Ruby and Moira have all done terrible things. Let’s just leave it there, shall we?

    Caleb and Ruby talk seriously
Ruby’s story is now all about Caleb (Credit: ITV)

Once again a story that should be about women is about men (two stories in fact) in Emmerdale

Ruby’s abuse by her evil father Anthony, and Moira’s brain tumour are both huge stories. Ruby and Moira are big, bold, brilliant female characters. And Beth Cordingly, who plays Ruby, and Natalie J Robb, AKA Moira, are both amazing, accomplished actresses.

But somehow these stories told by these actresses have become secondary to Cain and Caleb’s feud. This has happened before when Lydia’s rape turned into ‘who killed Craig’. So we knew this was going to happen when Cain and Ruby slept together, and we know we’ve said this before in our Emmerdale review, but we really wish it hadn’t.

We want to see Ruby working through her feelings about her dad (surely she needs some sort of counselling for this?!) and Moira coping with her brain surgery, not to mention now also supporting Matty and Kyle through the loss of Amy. It feels like these huge stories are being lost.

John Sugden and Aaron at Anthony's grave

Emmerdale review: What is John up to?

We do not trust John Sugden. We’re pretty sure he was lying about where Anthony’s body is. We’re wondering if he had something to do with Nate’s body being in the icy lake. We’re not confident he’s being honest with Aaron about his past. Somehow he has manipulated things so he is apparently in charge of the Dingles now. He’s the boss. Even though he’s a Sugden.

    And we love it!

John is so calm and still in a chaotic village full of chaotic characters. But he’s still in a way that suggests there’s a lot more to him than we already know. And we’re really liking this suggestion of darkness around him.

Emmerdale review: Super sleuths Lydia and Kim

The highlight of our week was Kim and Lydia teaming up to find out what Joe is up to. Kim dubbing herself the ‘doyenne of dubiousness’ was genius. Lydia trailing Joe through the woods to meet Dawn, and then snapping pictures worthy of Hollywood’s finest paparazzo was hilarious. We are here for Tate and Dingle PIs being on the case.

Emmerdale review Ross attacks Joe in Emmerdale
Lucky for Ross that Joe’s not Batman (Credit: ITV)

    Joe’s not Batman

“I’m not Batman,” Joe Tate told Dawn this week. Which made us laugh. But also he could be – he’s rich, suave, a bit tortured. He’s got the tragic backstory, the murdered parents (well, his mum was murdered, his dad just pretended to be murdered.) Just saying…

But superhero secret identities aside, we are bewildered by Joe and his weird secrets. What is going on? Why did he drug Noah? How did he get the strength to smash his way out of the barn when he could barely stand up? Who was the mysterious man who came to his rescue? Was he a doctor? What was the ‘short-term solution’ that was in the case?

It is confusing and slightly annoying. If he’s ill, then there’s a perfectly good hospital in Hotten, with excellent staff who we’re sure would take good care of him.

Just veering off topic slightly, we were also delighted to see Dawn reverting to type and being super-moody with Joe now too. That honeymoon period is short when it comes to Mrs Fletcher.

Is Ned Porteous leaving Emmerdale as Joe Tate again? Here’s all we know

Tonight’s episode of Emmerdale saw Joe Tate confronted over his affair with Dawn – sparking rumours he’s leaving the soap again. Caught in the act by snooping Lydia, Kim demanded to know what he’d been playing at.

Disapproving of his manipulation of vulnerable Dawn, Kim set forth an ultimatum. As he insisted that their affair was all for Dawn’s benefit, concerned Kim told him that he needed to stay away from Dawn or else he’d find himself out on his ear, with no way back.

“You know how I deal with people who cross me,” she snarled, before storming off. Will Joe heed Kim’s warning, or will he continue playing with fire?

Yesterday, Joe confirmed that things with his health had grown increasingly bad – telling his doctor that he ‘doesn’t have long left.’ If he hopes to survive whatever’s wrong with him, Joe needs to step up his plan… whatever that is.

Between Kim’s ultimatum and Joe’s declining health, things aren’t looking good. But is actor Ned Porteous about to leave Emmerdale again?

Is Ned Porteous leaving Emmerdale as soap confirms Joe is on death’s door?

The soap has yet to confirm whether Ned Porteous will leave Emmerdale this year. His return was announced last year, with actor Ned teasing what Joe was up to by saying: “There’s a lot of unfinished business for Joe, and it feels like the right time for him to make a comeback.”

However, neither he nor ITV revealed whether Joe’s return to the Dales is a permanent one. And, as his health continues to worsen and Kim steps up the pressure, it seems as though he’s running out of time.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale spoilers for next week have confirmed that Joe plans to leave Home Farm in the wake of Kim’s discovery.

Follow-up: As Kim finds out about Dawn and Joe’s affair, here’s what happens next

In tonight’s episode of Emmerdale (Friday, February 28), Kim and Lydia found evidence of Dawn and Joe’s affair.

Nobody tries to sneak around behind Kim’s back and gets away with it, that’s for sure.

But, now that Kim’s confronted Joe over his affair, what exactly happens next?

Kim rumbled Dawn and Joe’s affair in Emmerdale

Did Dawn and Joe really think they could have an affair right under Kim’s nose and get away with it. The Queen of Home Farm knows everything.

This week, while knowing Joe was acting very suss, Kim’s little bug in Joe’s room didn’t expose anything dodgy. So, Kim then changed tactics, having Joe believe that she completely trusted him.

Recruiting Lydia to act as her spy, Kim was desperate to find out just what Joe was hiding. And, she did tonight.

Lydia followed Joe through the woods and pulled out her phone to snap a photo of him meeting up with Dawn and kissing her.

She then reported this all back to Kim, who then confronted Joe over her findings.

But, Joe wasn’t that bothered about Kim finding out. Just like he wasn’t fussed about Charity finding out the other week either.

He told Kim that her evidence just showed two people happy to see each other.

Kim then told Joe to leave her family alone if he knew what was good for him. But, something tells us Mr. Joe Tate won’t go down without a fight…

What happens next after Dawn and Joe affair exposed?

Coming up in Emmerdale spoilers, Joe announces to Dawn that he’s leaving Home Farm.

It’s then that Dawn realises that Joe’s been forced out by Kim and that Kim now knows about their affair. And, this doesn’t go down well with Dawn who panics to know that her secret is out there.

What can Dawn do to make sure that the news doesn’t get back to her husband Billy? And, is Joe really going to leave or does he have other plans?

  • What happened in Emmerdale tonight (Friday): Kim issued a threat to Joe after catching him out and more heartbreak for April

What happened in Emmerdale tonight (Friday): Kim issued a threat to Joe after catching him out and more heartbreak for April

In Emmerdale tonight, April Windsor returned to school, but she she was disheartened to hear some of her classmates talking about her.

Elsewhere, it was Jacob’s birthday and he got emotional when he found a present his mum had purchased before she sadly died.

Here is the full rundown of what happened in Emmerdale tonight (Friday, February 28).

April sat in school in Emmerdale

    April went back to school

Yesterday, April made the brave decision to go back to school. However, it wasn’t a successful day and April ended up leaving early after hearing two girls talking about her.

While April was in a cubicle, two girls entered the toilet. One mentioned that April was back at school and referred to her as a “freak”.

The girls continued to slag April off, saying she looked “dead rough” and “have you seen the state of her?”

They also speculated about who the baby’s father was. “That’s what happens when you have a baby with someone on drugs,” said one of the girls, while the other girl said she had heard it was a mate of April’s dad.

April was also referred to as a “slapper”, while one girl said: “My mum said it’s always the ones who make out they’re little miss perfect,” and called her a “silly cow”.

All the while, April was upset in the cubicle listening in. Poor April. Once the girls left the toilets, April crept out too and left school. This caused Marlon and Rhona to worry that she’d run off again, but she soon returned home.

It was Jacob’s birthday (Credit: ITV)

    Jacob struggled with his grief

Sarah found Jacob Gallagher at Leyla’s office, where he apologised to her for shouting at her over Noah.

It was also revealed to be Jacob’s birthday. He showed Sarah a present he’d found under his mum’s desk. Jacob opened it and became emotional to see it was an engraved stethoscope.

He also opened the card, which had the message: “Happy birthday to the best son in the universe, the best doctor in the world and the love of my life now and forever.”

Later, in the pub, Jacob was struggling to work through his grief. Belle sat with him and spoke about what it was like when her mum died. Jacob soon decided that his mum wouldn’t want him wallowing on his own on his birthday.

Dawn and Joe were caught in Emmerdale tonight

Joe caught Lydia trying to go through his drawers. She pretended she was putting ironing away, but Joe knew she was lying.

Later, Dawn continued to flirt with Joe, telling him everyone was out. But Joe pointed out that ‘Inspector Clueless’ was there, referring to Lydia.

However, Joe didn’t need much persuading and he agreed to meet Dawn at the cottage. Lydia decided to follow him. She was shocked to see him kissing Dawn and took a photo – not so clueless after all.

Joe returned to Home Farm later to find Billy. Billy confided that Dawn is always too busy for him lately. Joe appeared to have a conscience briefly as he told Billy he was sure it would all work out.

After learning the truth from Lydia, Kim later spoke to Dawn, informing her that she loved Billy Fletcher for his decency and honesty that others don’t seem to share.

Before Kim could go any further, Dawn was called away to her son. Kim decided to confront Joe instead, telling him she knows about Dawn. She told him that Dawn is vulnerable, but his response was simply to say Dawn needed an escape because Billy is boring.

Kim threatened to tell Billy and kick Joe out if Joe doesn’t put a stop to it. But will he listen to her?

Emmerdale star Liam Fox reveals eight year cancer struggle following surgery

Former Emmerdale star Liam Fox has revealed how he had an operation in February to remove a patch of ‘carcinoma’ from his skin after being diagnosed with skin cancer.

The actor, 54, left the soap two years ago after 12 years of playing Dan Spencer. During this time, Liam had grown concerned that a patch of flaky skin on left temple might be something more serious.

First noticing signs of skin cancer in 2017, Liam wasn’t diagnosed until January 2024 – subsequently undergoing an operation to remove the patch of skin.

In an interview with The Sun, Liam said: “I went to the doctors and they said ‘Oh no, it’s just flakey skin’ it’s fine, it’s nothing to worry about. A few weeks later I went back to them again because it was still there, I just wasn’t happy with what they’d told me, it just didn’t feel right.”

He continued to go to the doctor to seek help, who diagnosed him with a condition called ‘Solar Keratosis,’ and giving him cream for the problem. This cleared up the issue until a year later, when it returned.

After doctors took a sample, he was promised that he’d have answers within six months. However, this wasn’t to be, and a year passed before Liam sought help again.

“I told them that I really needed to sort it out as it was still bleeding. The woman on the desk said, ‘Oh yeah, you should have been seen by now.’ I got a meeting at the hospital a couple of days later. The doctor that I saw admitted that I should have been seen much sooner,” said the actor, who left the soap in 2023.

He continued: “It was January 2024 by this point. They finally told me that it was a ‘carcenoma’ we’ll have to get that out. They don’t grow very quickly but we’ll get it sorted.”

After the NHS told him that his operation wouldn’t be for another six months, Liam kept pushing. Doctors eventually gave him a surgery date in February.

“A carcinoma tends to just damage the surrounding area. It can invade and go into your bones and your skull and cause damage, but they seem quite happy that it’s all gone okay,” the Dan Spencer star revealed.

“I feel alright, and everything is healing nicely. I only went in for the day and had some local anaesthetic and they cut it out. They seem quite happy that it’s all gone okay. I’ve got to go back in six weeks for a routine check-up.”

Ruby’s time may be running out in Emmerdale according to this fan theory

In Emmerdale Ruby killed her dad at the end of January, and since then the secret has been a ticking time bomb.

After Anthony arrived back into her life, it was revealed that he had sexually abused her when she was younger. And while she tried to hide the truth from Caleb, when Ruby realised Steph was actually Anthony’s it all came tumbling out.

It didn’t take long for other Dingles to hear about it and all of them immediately wanted to make the vile man pay. But after a week of wondering who would take the final blow, it was revealed to have been Ruby. And now fans think it’s only a matter of time before she is caught.

Emmerdale Ruby to be caught, predicts fan theory

Slowly more and more people kept being dragged into the murder cover-up. And now that John has revealed where he put Anthony’s body, Ruby seems to be struggling to cope.

A new fan theory suggests that she will inevitably be caught for the murder, especially if things keep going the way they are.

Taking to X, a viewer theorised: “I think Ruby’s chances of getting away with killing Anthony are quickly slipping away.”

If this turns out to be the case, then could we be saying goodbye to Ruby on our screens? Or will the Dingles put their differences aside and work together to get her off with it?

How would the truth come out?

Well there still are a whole lot of loose ends that could lead to the truth getting out. One of which is Steph.

Steph was Anthony’s biggest defender, and while she doesn’t know that he is her biological dad, she is determined to find him no matter what. Ever since he went missing, she has known her parents are hiding something. However, with the recent revelation of Cain and Ruby’s one-night stand, they tried to use that to cover up the reality.

But she isn’t one to let things go. And so if she continues to press on it, will the truth come out?

Of course, another way it could all explode is if Ruby loses control and confesses. In last night’s episode (February 27) she kept going back to where Anthony’s body supposedly is.

She admitted to Caleb that she doesn’t know how to cope with it, and that she feels guilty. So could the guilt bring out the truth?

It remains to be seen if anyone will ever discover the body, but we hope whatever happens that we don’t lose Ruby!

It’s time for Emmerdale to reveal the truth about Joe Tate – but DON’T kill him off – OPINION

When Emmerdale brought Joe Tate back on at the end of 2024, there was a clear mystery. But two months on and we still have no answers. It’s time for Emmerdale to give us some – without killing him off.

There have been so many different theories as to what’s actually wrong with Joe. And while last night we looked like we were about to get some answers, we still don’t actually know anything.

Viewers were thrilled at his return announcement. But his mystery storyline is becoming extreme and lengthy, when it could be neatly wrapped up. And with so much potential for his character, killing him off would be a huge mistake.

Why Emmerdale should not kill Joe Tate

If it is to be revealed that Emmerdale did truly bring Ned Porteous back just to give Joe a final exit, what was the point? They could have left it as it was so that there was always that opportunity for a return.

Not to mention, his return storyline hasn’t actually brought that much to further plots. Yes, he was linked to Will’s exit, and he’s providing somewhat of a storyline for Noah. And there is the whole affair with Dawn.

But if progressing other people’s stories was the only reason that he was brought back before he dies, then what a waste of a character. And what a waste of the talent that Ned is.

When Joe was previously on our screens, he was the ultimate bad boy, who was embroiled in so many different storylines and feuds. But whatever is going on with him prevents him from reaching the potential that is clearly there.

If Emmerdale were to fix whatever is going on, then we could see the old Joe come back. And perhaps he could even get back to his scheming. The soap needs someone like him.

There is also the fact that his comeback paves the way for some iconic Tate comebacks and mentions. Away from the village there are still a few Tate’s around, so by having Joe in the village, there will always be that connection and that possibility.

With Kim, Noah and Caleb the only other ties Joe has to family, it should make for some interesting scenes. the dynamics have so much potential. But at the minute they’re trapped by this illness storyline.

It’s time to tell us what’s happening

For the last two months the storyline has been lingering. And quite frankly, if it lasts any longer it’s going to lose any shock factor at all. It’s already been going on long enough.

Things move quickly in soaps, and so if a storyline is unnecessarily lengthy, viewers will become bored of it. And Joe Tate is not a boring character – so let’s not make him one.

Not only have we been waiting way too long for answers, but the storyline is also taking a strange turn. If Joe needs a donor, why doesn’t he just ask? Noah has always worshipped his brother, so he would have jumped at the chance to help.

And let’s face it, while people in Emmerdale may say they hate Joe Tate, when it comes down to reality, someone would step up and help him stay alive. But going to the extreme lengths of drugging Noah and having mysterious late night doctor calls just seems a bit far-fetched – even for Joe.

We, along with a lot of others, love Joe Tate and the potential he brings to the show. And because of that, watching a slow burner storyline of him dying is not something we want to see.

So Emmerdale, tell us what’s going on and sort it out. Let’s not have it drag on much longer, please.
