Amelia grew even stupider as Tom plotted against Belle and Zak isn’t well – everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight

We didn’t think it was possible, but in Emmerdale tonight Amelia got even stupider when she fell for Tom’s declaration of love. As she failed to question any of his lies (and her own make-up choices), she agreed to help him do anything. A promise that will undoubtedly end badly for Belle tomorrow night.

Elsewhere, Will and Kim’s divorce war raged on and news reached the village of Zak being unwell. Cain’s off to look after him, which could leave Belle very vulnerable indeed.

Here’s a catch-up on everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight.

Amelia has a go at Chas and Belle in Emmerdale

Belle made a decision as Amelia made a huge mistake

Belle has decided it’s time to go to the police. But Amelia overheard her and Chas having a random discussion and assumed it meant Cain was going to attack Tom, so she launched a tirade at them both. At this point she’s wearing so much make-up she could be auditioning for TOWIE, but that aside, she’s still annoying everyone – including us. Chas gave her both barrels back, which was long overdue, frankly.

Amelia then decided to move in with Amy and Kerry instead. Those two super-detectives have worked out she’s still in touch with Tom and want to do all they can to make her see sense.

Amelia then called Tom to meet her urgently. He wasn’t particularly nice to her and she wanted to come clean about being a couple and move in together. Tom turned nasty and told her he had enough on his plate and he needed peace and not nagging. Upset Amelia left, but has she seen his true colours at last?

Meanwhile, Amy went to visit Belle offering a listening ear. But also she wanted Belle to tell her what had happened between her and Tom to protect Amelia. Obviously Amelia wasn’t interested and was firm Belle was making it all up. Off she went to meet Tom again and accept his apologies without even blinking an overly made-up eyelid.

Of course Amelia told Tom Belle was going to the police and then melted when he told her he loved her. She agreed to help him with whatever he needed as he plotted to regain control and win again. Oh Amelia, you stupid, silly idiot.

The Kim and Will saga dragged on in Emmerdale tonight

The former couple were circling each other like wolves, with Kim shoving her high heel into his sandwich without him realising – ooh, now this really is serious stuff.

Ruby has taken Will and Kim’s split hard. Yes, you read that right, she is upset by it. Mainly because it’s brought up unhappy memories of families and so she does not want Caleb to get involved with Will.

Caleb however, needs Will’s help. He wants Jimmy’s share of the haulage yard now and Will to get it for him, but Jimmy wasn’t interested. Are you still awake? We’re struggling, to be honest.

Caleb and Will then faced off in the pub and we were still bored. Back at home, Will gave Kim a speech about something or other than made little sense to us, but seemed to rattle her. And so we wait for tomorrow, when this will no doubt continue.

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

    John was offered a job

Dr Liam was impressed by John’s medical knowledge in the pub and suggested he think about putting his training to use. He wants John to be a paramedic practitioner.

Of course Victoria had to stick her beak in and John got the wobbles. For some reason, John is still hanging around and keeps chatting to her. We’d have driven off in that stinky van weeks ago to get as far away from her as possible.

    Zak isn’t well

Debbie has called to say Zak is not well. Cain has decided he’s going to go up to Scotland and help. He’s reluctant to leave Moira, but hasn’t really thought about abused sister Belle. With Cain out of the way, Tom feels he’s free to strike, which isn’t good.

And Tom aside, it looks like this could be the start of Zak’s farewell storyline. Pass us the tissues.

    Laurel and Manpreet’s girl talk

Given they’ve never spoken before, Laurel and Manpreet are all of a sudden BFFs, discussing their sex lives in the cafe. Obviously the point of this is to make it all-the-more weird when Laurel sleeps with Charles later this week, but it was still a bit crowbarred in – and cringeworthy.

  • Emmerdale’s best – or worst – bad girls from Kim Tate to Meena Jutla!

Emmerdale’s best – or worst – bad girls from Kim Tate to Meena Jutla!

Emmerdale’s bad girls are iconic! The soap has a long history of vindictive, manipulative, and often downright evil female villains!

In today’s episode of Emmerdale, Kim Tate played petty games with estranged husband Will as he made himself a sandwich. And while she was dropping his bread on the floor, in the background Billie Eilish was singing ‘Bad Girl’.

It was the perfect soundtrack for Kim, who is the quintessential Emmerdale bad girl! So we thought we’d round up the best of the rest.

Here are the baddest of Emmerdale’s bad girls!

Kim Tate: the finest of all Emmerdale’s bad girls!

Kim’s schemed, cheated, scammed, and watched her own husband die at her feet in her race to rule the village. She’s queen of Home Farm and somehow, despite the things she’s done, we’re still rooting for her! #TeamTate

    Meena Jutla

When we said soem Emmerdale bad girls were proper evil, it was Meena Jutla we were thinking of.  Meena was an iconic Dale serial killer with a bloodlust and body count that put her firmly into the Emmerdale legend category.

She killed Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker, and had already killed her best friend Nadine and her own father. Meena’s now safely behind bars. But we sort of wish she’d escape!

    Charity Dingle

Charity’s all about family now, but for a long time she was top of the scheming charts. She was determined to get rich and she wasn’t afraid to use her Dingle charms to get what she wanted.

She has made some very bad choices, got involved with some very bad men – and some that were just bad for her. But has she finally settled down with fourth husband Mackenzie Boyd? Only time will tell!

    Jasmine Thomas

Jasmine arrived in Emmerdale to live with her uncle, Ashley, and his wife Laurel. But she was soon proving to be quite the handful. Jasmine embarked on a romance with best friend Debbie Dingle, only to be seduced by her much older dad, Cain, who got her pregnant.

But it was Jasmine’s determination to become an investigative reporter that really landed her in trouble. She got embroiled with bent copper Shane Doyle, and after her tried to rape her, she whacked him with a chair leg and killed him.

With the help of Debbie and Eli Dingle, she dumped the body in the lake. But of course Shane was found and Jasmine eventually went to prison for her crime.

    Kelly Windsor

    Kelly Windsor: Emmerdale’s bad girls

Kelly Windsor was a troubled teenager who grew into a manipulative and wily woman. She had a string of unsuitable romances with men including her teacher, Tom Bainbridge, Chris Tate, Biff Fowler and her stepbrother Scott. She married sweet Roy Glover but wasn’t happy.

When Kelly returned to the village after some time away, she got pregnant by Jimmy King but said she’d had an abortion. Years later, Kelly gave Jimmy the news that she’d had his son, Elliot.

She even took advantage of Jimmy’s amnesia to pretend they were a couple. But Jimmy wised up and Kelly left the village – leaving Elliot behind.

Emma Barton: one of Emmerdale’s bad girls

Another iconic Emmerdale villain, Emma was brilliantly, terrifyingly, determined to bring her family back together. So determined, in fact, that she took advantage of estranged husband James being injured and kept him hostage at home.

It was Emma who caused the Hotton by-pass crash when she shoved that same husband off the road bridge and killed him. She also (accidentally) shot and killed her son Finn and was eventually finished off by Moira Dingle!

    Sally Spode

Sally was a vicar’s wife who tried to get her claws into Ashley by, well, locking Laurel in the church and setting fire to it. She didn’t succeed in killing her love rival there or later in hospital when she considered smothering her with a pillow. Phew.

But she did jump out in front of Ashley’s car, kidnap Edna’s dog AND Angelica King, drugged Ashley to try to get him into bed, and lie that she was pregnant with his baby. Oh and end up in a dramatic balcony struggle with Laurel. That’s more than enough!

    Maya Stepney

    Maya Stepney

Another of the properly twisted Emmerdale bad girls, Maya Stepney groomed and seduced her teenage student and almost ‘stepson’ Jacob Gallagher.

Maya convinced Jacob that their relationship was true love, and that they could be tighter, but in reality she had manipulated Jacob and messed with his head. Eventually Maya admitted to what she’d done, she lost her job and went to jail.

  • Dale Meeks: From Byker Grove to Simon in Emmerdale and his tragic death aged 48

Dale Meeks: From Byker Grove to Simon in Emmerdale and his tragic death aged 48

Dale Meeks played fishmonger Simon Meredith in Emmerdale back in the mid-noughties.

Simon was engaged to Nicola Blackstock for a while and together with his mum, Lesley (played by former Coronation Street star Sherrie Hewson) made his mark on the village.

Actor Dale Meeks was already known to telly viewers when he took on the role as he’d starred in children’s show Byker Grove.

And after Emmerdale he went on to have more success, in theatre and on television.

But sadly, Dale tragically died, aged just 48, in April last year. Here’s his story.

Dale Weeks as Simon Meredith in Emmerdale

    Dale’s early days

Dale’s career began when he was just a teenager, when he landed the role of Greg in Byker Grove. Greg was the leader of a rival youth club, called Denton Burn.

Dale stayed at Byker Grove for two years and then carried on acting. He had roles in Spender, The Bill, and Grease Monkeys, among many others.

In 2003 he joined Emmerdale as fishmonger Simon.

Before Dale got the part of Simon he’d considered giving up acting. He was fed up with failed auditions and the expense of travelling from his hometown of Newcastle to London. Fortunately he got the job!

    Simon the fishmonger

Simon arrived in Emmerdale, accidentally! Nicola had asked Emily Kirk to set her up with fishmonger Kenny, but Emily got muddled and set Nicola up with Simon instead!

The pair hit it off and eventually got engaged. But money troubles, the presence of Simon’s meddling mum Lesley, and Nicola’s attraction to lodger Ivan (played by Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank) all caused problems.

Eventually, they called off their engagement, and Ivan and Simon went travelling in Costa Rica.

    Life after Emmerdale

After leaving the show, Dale continued acting with many roles on television including in The Dumping Ground, Being Human, and Casualty. And in 2023 he starred in The Hunt for Raoul Moat.

While he was still at Emmerdale, Dale’s singing skills won him Celebrity Stars in their Eyes when he and co-star Mark Charnock, AKA Marlon Dingle, teamed up to become the Blues Brothers.

And Dale used his musical talents on stage, playing Amos Hart in the touring production of Chicago, and appearing in the West End in Love Never Dies.

    Dale’s tragic death

In April 2023, Dale’s family announced he had passed away from heart failure.

Former Emmerdale co-stars including Nick Miles (AKA Jimmy King) and Verity Rushworth, who played Donna Windsor, paid tribute to their friend online. Ant and Dec also shared their sadness at Dale’s death.

  • Classic Emmerdale spoilers: Nicola gets bad news, Adam is fretting and Pearl makes a rash decision

Classic Emmerdale spoilers: Nicola gets bad news, Adam is fretting and Pearl makes a rash decision

In Classic Emmerdale spoilers for episodes airing on ITV3 on Wednesday September 25, Nicola gets a glimpse of her future, Pearl makes a rash decision and Alan’s got money problems. These episodes originally aired on January 30 and 31, 2006.

    Adam’s fretting

When he hears that Alan and Terence are moving, Adam’s worried about Betty being left on her own, but she insists she’s fine.

Adam’s got more to worry about though, when he realises something’s up with Steph. But she refuses to admit what’s going on, and won’t tell him that she’s being threatened by Terence.

    Money troubles

Alan tells Terence that his offer on Tug Ghyll has been accepted, but he admits he’s having trouble re-mortgaging the B&B because of his age. Len suggests that he could get a joint mortgage with Terence, but Terence doesn’t seem keen.

    Taking action?

When Paul mentions he’s not seen much of Steph lately, Betty goes to find her. She finds her in a bit of a state, and reports back to Adam, telling him something needs to be done about Terence. She suggests that they call the police but Adam says if Steph doesn’t want that, then there’s nothing they can do.

    Seeing the future

Nicola’s not impressed when she goes to a palm reader and gets some bad news! The palm reader tells her her relationship is in trouble and Nicola’s miffed.

So at home later she showers Simon with affection – only for things to end up in another row!

    Making accusations

The next day, Nicola checks Simon’s phone and she’s horrified to see lots of messages from his ex, Tash. She’s convinced he’s having an affair until Lesley tells her the truth. She explains that Tash has repaid the money she owed – but Simon hasn’t told her.

Fuming, Nicola confronts Simon who tells her he was testing her ability to live without money. She’s very unimpressed to find out she was being tested and takes off her engagement ring.

Lesley takes Simon to the pub where he tells her he doesn’t love Nicola anymore. Appalled, Lesley goes home to hear Nicola saying she doesn’t want to be engaged either.

    Is it really over?

    Rash decisions

At Home Farm Tom discovers his visitors are arriving a day earlier than he thought. Desperate to impress, he asks Pearl if Nicola is still providing silver service catering.

Pearl’s saving for her trip to Hong Kong, so she is quick to say that she’s looking after that side of the business now. She agrees to provide the staff for Tom’s dinner and she’s chuffed with herself until Len points out she’s got no staff!

3 Spoilers for tonight, Wednesday September 25: Amelia launches an attack on Belle over Tom as Kerry and Amy decide to take action

In tonight’s Emmerdale spoilers, Amelia is still standing by her man as she defends evil Tom to Belle and Chas. The teen’s family are concerned about her loyalty towards the abuser and fear she’s still seeing him. But can they find a way to cut contact before Amelia becomes Tom’s next victim?

All this and more in Emmerdale on Wednesday September, 25!

Tom has a hold over Amelia in Emmerdale spoilers

    1. Tom is controlling Amelia from afar

No one has heard a peep from Tom since he got dismissed from his job at the vets. But his campaign of cruelty against Belle has become the talk of the village. Most people are firmly Team Belle, but there are a brainwashed few – yes, Jimmy, we’re looking at you – who still think Tom is innocent.

Amelia is also refusing to believe the man she’s fallen in love with could be capable of such things. The naive barmaid has been completely taken in by Tom, and has been paying him secret visits. Amelia has also agreed to carry on getting ‘justice’ for Tom and prove Belle is on a mission to ruin his life.

Will she ever realise what kind of a man he is?

    2. Amelia lashes out at Belle and Chas

Meanwhile, Belle fears Tom is lurking somewhere, biding his time and planning his next attack.

She discusses her concerns with Chas in the back room of The Woolpack, as they try and figure out what to do. But Amelia walks in and overhears the tail end of the conversation.

Misunderstanding what they’re saying, angry Amelia jumps to Tom’s defense. She rails at Belle and Chas, accusing them of waging a war against him – oh seriously, girl, you’re getting on our nerves now.

Can Belle and Chas find a way to make Amelia understand she’s being played?

Fears grow for Amelia in Emmerdale spoilers

    3. Amy and Kerry make an alarming discovery

Word of Amelia’s outburst soon reaches Kerry and Amy, who are troubled by her refusal to back down.

Both ladies have had little success in being able to convince Amelia that Tom’s a wrong’un. They’ve tried both the direct and softly-softly approach. But have they worked? Have they heck!

Concerned about Amelia’s latest tirade, Amy and Kerry suspect she’s still in contact with Tom. They decide to do some digging to get to the truth. But will they discover Tom’s whereabouts? And can they help Amelia before it really is too late?

  • John’s secret was revealed, Kim hit Will where it hurts and Lydia got emotional – here’s what happened in Emmerdale tonight

John’s secret was revealed, Kim hit Will where it hurts and Lydia got emotional – here’s what happened in Emmerdale tonight

Emmerdale tonight saw John’s secret revealed to viewers – and it wasn’t as exciting as we’d hoped. Sure, it was emotional, but it felt a bit flat.

Meanwhile, Kim took more revenge on Will and hit him where it hurt – literally and metaphorically.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight, Tuesday September 24.

Lydia Dingle supports Belle Dingle in Emmerdale
Belle was supported by Lydia (Credit: ITV)

    Lydia opened up to Belle

Belle was frantically searching for hidden cameras in the Dingle homestead. Lydia kept insisting Belle had evidence and encouraged her to go to the police.

Belle then asked Lydia for help – getting her to explain what it was like when she went to the police over Craig and her rape. But Belle was still unsure as they had dropped the charges in Lydia’s case and she felt no one would believe her over Tom. Lydia tried to convince Belle people will see through it as she has evidence. Is it enough to get Belle to go to the police, though?

The conversation and memories hit Lydia hard as she broke down in tears.

But later Lydia offered more comfort to thoughtful Belle telling her she had to decide what happened next. Will Belle finally report her abusive husband?

John throws Victoria out of his van in Emmerdale
Victoria now knows John’s Aidan Moore secret (Credit: ITV)

John’s secret fell a bit flat in Emmerdale tonight

Victoria apologised to John for her frankly weird and obsessive behaviour, but it still didn’t stop her prying.

John then finally gave in explained who Aidan Moore was. He was apparently his best mate and he died when they were serving in Afghanistan. He went into great detail about Aidan’s death and given he has refused to open up about anything at all, this all seemed quite strange.

John got pretty emotional (for him!) and broke down as he was telling the story. Not that we’re saying this didn’t happen, but surely there’s more to it? The fact this big secret that has been teased for some weeks was delivered right at the beginning of the episode and then not referenced again felt very flat. Hopefully this isn’t it. And if it is, what a waste.

Will Taylor grimaces in Emmerdale (Credit: ITV)
    Will was jealous (Credit: ITV)

Things weren’t going well for Will

Will broke the news to Jimmy Caleb is his new business partner. Jimmy was not happy in only the way Jimmy can’t be. Hearing the commotion, Dawn gave Will the time of day for 10 seconds, but then changed her mind and walked off again.

Will then went toe-to-toe with Kim again, who was claiming she’d slept with someone else last night as said man came down the stairs. How long are we going to have to deal with these two going back and forth? Much as we love Queen Kim Tate, this sort of tit-for-tat is going to get pretty boring, pretty quickly.

Will then may have made a mistake, threatening to have Kim killed in front of a witness. Has he just played right into her hands – can we feel another faked death coming on?!

He earned himself a punch from Kim’s bit of suit after calling her a ‘trollop past her sell-by date’. Kim did tend to Will’s wounds, though, and they even made jokes at each other. And Will admitted he was very jealous. Could she be thawing? Can they make it work and we can all forget about this nonsense storyline?

Not at the moment, because Kim fired back that he needed to move out. Sigh.

Kim then went to visit Dawn and apologised for what happened with Rose. She wanted to be part of Dawn’s family and be friends again. Dawn seemed much more forgiving of Kim than she does of her own dad. But is Kim on the level or is she trying to isolate Will from his family? Does she really mean it?

Will then decided to team up with Caleb to take Kim down. He promised to do anything – legal or illegal to “bring her to her knees” and “make her life a misery”. Will Caleb bite? And what does this mean for Kim? And once again, how much longer are they going to drag this out for?

Laurel's ideas don't go down well with Charles or Claudette in Emmerdale
Just get on with the romance already! (Credit: ITV)

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Charles and Claudette were still planning the Harvest Festival – let’s hope this also comes round quickly because it’s not the most riveting storyline.

Gail got involved, wanting to throw a disco in the village hall. Laurel was totally on board, Claudette was not. Modernising the church seems to be a long way off.

Laurel soon stormed off and Claudette decided she must be menopausal! But then Charles overheard Laurel being mean about his mum and it didn’t go down well.

We appreciate all of this is just a plot device to get Laurel and Charles together, but it all feels a bit forced and crowbarred in to give the characters something to do. Laurel hasn’t really been near the church for years, now all of a sudden she’s a dedicated parishioner who wants to improve attendance? Riiiiight.

  • Lydia Dingle and her terror at the hands of Craig Reed

Lydia Dingle and her terror at the hands of Craig Reed

Lydia Dingle in Emmerdale is the devoted, but no-nonsense wife of Sam, and the heart of the whole Dingle family.

But she’s been through a lot in her time in the village, most recently a brutal rape at the hands of her former boyfriend.

Here’s the lowdown on everything that happened.

Lydia sits on the stairs after her rape
Lydia struggled to process what had happened to her (Credit: ITV)

    Lydia’s childhood

Lydia grew up in a children’s home, where she met Craig Reed. Lydia – who at the time was called Jenny Finn – got pregnant by Craig. She gave birth alone in the bathroom to a stillborn baby boy. Lydia wrapped her son in a jumper and buried him on what would become the site of Hotten Academy.

More than 30 years later, Craig came back into Lydia’s life. They reconnected at a jobs fair in the Hide, and became friends. Lydia told Craig about their baby – who she’d named Toby – and took him to his final resting place to pay his respects.

    Lydia was scared of Craig

    Emmerdale: Lydia is sexually assaulted

After that, Lydia and Craig spent more time together and she even started working for him. But Craig was developing an unhealthy obsession with Lydia and had convinced himself she felt the same.

It all came to a head when one evening, in his office, Craig started to make a move on Lydia. When she turned him down, he pinned her down and raped her.

Lydia eventually told Sam what had happened (Credit: ITV)

    The aftermath

It took Lydia a few days to really process what Craig had done – she even went back to work. Her family realised she was acting oddly, but didn’t know why.

Craig continued to torment Lydia, telling her they could make a life together, while befriending her family. When Lydia snapped, she went to the police and told them she wanted to report a rape. But she ended up rushing away before she gave any details.

When Lydia told husband Sam and the rest of the Dingles what had happened to her, they supported her as she went to the police and Craig was arrested.

But when the case against him was dropped, Lydia was devastated.

    Craig’s death

After the case was dropped, Craig was found dead in a field, and the shocked Dingles gathered to piece together who was to blame.

As it turned out, Kim inadvertently caused Craig’s death. She came across him when out riding and though she told him to stay away from her horse, he spooked the nag and got kicked in the head. Cain Dingle saw what happened and helped Kim cover up the crime by setting the horse free and concocting a story that it had escaped.

The killing really tested Lydia’s friendship with Kim, and her relationship with the whole Dingle family, but she’s back where she belongs now, at Wishing Well Cottage.

Kim and Will are much better together, Emmerdale shouldn’t have split them up – here’s why

Kim and Will are well and truly over! Their slow-burn romance took a long time to get started and it’s fallen apart in a matter of days, and we’ve got to be honest, we’re disappointed.

The Taylor-Tates (or would it be Tate-Taylors? We can’t imagine Kim would want second billing!) were hardly love’s young dream. They’d both been round the block a few times separately and together when they finally tied the knot.

But that’s why we liked them – they knew each other’s flaws and they didn’t care. In fact, we suspect the flaws were one of the things that attracted them to one another.

And now we’re facing weeks of revenge and plotting as they try to out-do each other and we’re not looking forward to it.

Here’s why we think the couple are much better together!

Between them, Will and Kim have a LOT of secrets. But it seems they’ve been totally honest with one another (until Rose arrived, that is!). When Caleb turned up trying to fleece Kim of her worldly goods, it became obvious that Will knew all about Kim’s – ahem – toxic marriage to Frank and the way he died (for those of you too young to remember, he died at Kim’s feet as she watched).

And Kim, of course, knows all about what happened to DI Malone – at Dawn’s hands – and how his body was buried in the graveyard, until she made it go away.

    They’ve got each other’s backs

When Kim’s son Jamie was trying to poison his mother, Will and Kim weren’t actually together. In fact, it was Will who Jamie tried to frame for drugging his mum. But of course Kim found out – of course she did. And she set about taking the ultimate revenge.

With a bit of help from former lover Will, she set things up to look like she had died and Will had been arrested for her murder. Jamie was horrified, but not as horrified as he was when Kim strolled back into Home Farm and kicked him out!

    They’re a formidable team

With both Will and Kim having a very flexible approach to morals and what’s right, they made an intimidating team. Never more so, in fact, when Dawn’s ex Alex – dad to both Clemmie and Lucas – showed up in the village.

Alex had showed up wanting access to the kids. Or actually, what he wanted was to get his grubby mitts on the money Dawn had inherited from Harriet Finch and he was using the kids as leverage.

Kim promised Dawn that she’d sort it, and she did! She and Will kidnapped Alex and held him hostage in the stables where they offered him cash to go away. Alex refused and the newly weds told him their offer would drop in value every day. So cold!

Of course the Home Farm pair came out on top in the end, with Alex scarpering and Dawn and Billy adopting Clemmie.

Kim and Will need to reunite in Emmerdale

It was a disaster as soon as this storyline got going – there was only one way it could end really. And while we love Queen Kim and her bad ways, this was not the way to bring her back. Emmerdale should have teamed them up and made them Queen and King of the Dales. What a missed opportunity!
