Emmerdale spoilers: Moira’s behaviour gets worse as Cain suspects she’s drinking again

Moira isn’t herself and in Emmerdale spoilers for next week, her volatile behaviour is causing serious concern amongst her loved ones.

Cain is convinced his wife has fallen off the wagon and succumbed to her previous alcohol addiction. But it there more to Moira’s problems than a dependency on drink?

Cain and Moira are in crisis in Emmerdale spoilers

Life at Butlers Farm has been far from harmonious recently. Moira has been struggling since son Matty was wrongly imprisoned for stabbing Samson. It’s caused a divide between her and the Dingles, who are, of course, her in-laws.

Moira’s marriage to husband Cain is also on very rocky ground. The couple have had their fair share of ups and downs over the years. But Cain has been finding it almost impossible to cope with Moira’s erratic mood swings.

She’s been picking a fight with just about anyone who gets in her way, and it’s totally out of character. Moira may be strong-minded, but she’s not spiteful, and Cain doesn’t like this new side to his wife.

Cain confronts Moira about her drinking

As the week begins, Cain is impressed to see new farmhand John dealing with one of their big clients. But his mind is soon turned back to Moira – and the bottle of whisky he found in her bag.

Tensions are high as Cain confronts his other half, wanting to know why she’s hiding booze.

Viewers will remember Moira has a long and complicated history with alcohol. She developed an addiction in the aftermath of her affair with Nate, then relapsed when Cain was falsely imprisoned for Al Chapman’s murder. And it appears she’s revisited her old demons after starting to drink on the sly.

There’s further concern for Cain when he witnesses Moira knocking back painkillers. He asks her about the whisky, but she points out the bottle is unopened. Surely that’s not enough to convince Cain she’s sober?

Cain gets the wrong idea about Moira and Nate

Following her run-in with Cain, Moira ends up confiding her woes in John. Strange choice – he’s not exactly the sympathetic sort!

Moira admits she’s worried about the state of her marriage and doesn’t know if she and Cain can work through it. But the odds of a reconciliation are looking even less favourable when Cain spies Moira having a drink with Nate.

Seeing the former lovers sat together raises Cain’s suspicions as he wonders if Moira is cheating on him again. He confronts Nate about it, who’s hurt Cain would think such a thing. Nate pleads with Cain to see sense, pointing out their relationship is finally in a good place. But Cain doesn’t want to listen as he storms off to see the kids.

Are Moira and Cain set for another explosive run-in? And will it be the final nail in the coffin for them?

Emmerdale spoilers: Mack left gravely injured after he’s attacked by a bull

In Emmerdale spoilers for next week, Mack’s life is on the line after he’s attacked by a raging bull.

Mack blames John for the animal turning on him. But before he can exact his revenge, he suffers a shock collapse. Will his injuries prove to be fatal?

Danger for Mack in Emmerdale spoilers

An ordinary day takes a terrifying turn for Mack when he finds himself face-to-face with a bull. The mechanic is working in one of the barns at Butlers when he’s suddenly cornered by the animal. The bull isn’t meant to be in the barn, but how did it get there?

With his exit blocked there’s no safe way out and Mack is scared. Bulls are one of the most dangerous types of livestock and Mack knows they need to be handled with caution. Just check out the horns on it!

Taking a moment to psyche himself up, Mack decides he’ll try and make a break for it. His plan is to dodge the bull and make it to the barn gate before it catches up with him.

But can he honestly outrun a creature who possesses such speed and strength?

Mack is attacked by the bull

Mack tries to leg it past the bull, but he can’t get away quick enough as the animal chases after him.

Moments later, Nate arrives on the scene and is shocked to find the bull standing in the barn. That’s when he hears a groan from Mack, who’s lying wounded after being attacked.

As Nate tends to his friend, Mack is clearly in a lot of pain. He’s also angry, and convinced John deliberately put the bull in the barn as an act of revenge.

There’s no love lost between Mack and the new farmhand. John was livid after Mack deliberately sunk his beloved campervan in the lake and warned there would be repercussions. But setting Mack up to be gored by a bull seems a tad extreme, doesn’t it?

Mack’s health takes a scary turn

As Mack returns home to recover from his terrifying ordeal, Charity is on hand to nurse him.

She’s also convinced John tried to have Mack killed and tells her hubby they must retaliate. But while Charity tries to motivate Mack to take action, he starts to feel very unwell.

Charity suddenly realises Mack has gone quiet on her. She watches as he goes all woozy before collapsing on the sofa in a lifeless heap.

Will Mack die as a result of his injuries? And does this make John a murderer?

  • Emmerdale tonight: Poor Piper’s dead and Sarah’s still not had a ‘proper’ Dingle experience

Emmerdale tonight: Poor Piper’s dead and Sarah’s still not had a ‘proper’ Dingle experience

Emmerdale tonight saw the aftermath of Piper’s road ‘accident’ take place. Emmerdale really decided to break all of our hearts and kill off the little pup. We’re never going to forgive them for this one!

Elsewhere, Sarah was excited to break the law as Charity took her joyriding. However, she soon realised that she’d never committed any sort of crime after all.

Here’s a recap of everything that happened in Emmerdale on Monday August, 19th.

Emmerdale's Piper the Dog is adorable
    Piper’s no more (Credit: ITV)

One of the most heartbreaking soap deaths ever – RIP Piper

After purposely running Piper over with Belle’s retro Mini, Tom tried to act like a hero tonight. He relished in telling Belle and Lydia that he’d spent all night trying to save the little pup’s life.

However, he then confessed that it would be the kindest thing for Piper to be put down due to the extent of her injuries (sob!) We were hoping for some miracle by this point. Surely Emmerdale wouldn’t be so cruel as to kill off our favourite soap pet like… ever?!

We were wrong though, as Belle entered the consultation room at the vets and said one last goodbye to her forever friend. With Belle unable to watch Piper take her last breath, Tom was the one to stay with Piper at the very end.

Tom then told Belle that Piper had passed away. Off he then went to take the rest of the day off to process her passing (let’s hope the image of Piper’s adorable little face haunts him until the day he dies!)

By the end of the ep, Belle gave Tom a piece of her mind after accusing him of killing Piper. She told him that he made her ‘skin crawl’ (we can only agree Belle!) He then told her that she’d regret saying that she doesn’t love him anymore…

Is it possible for Tom to stoop any lower? We’ve already been traumatised enough by Piper’s death, we can’t take anything else!

Sarah’s yet to break the law

Sarah’s been feeling down lately. She’s complained about missing out on doing all of the things others her age do. She especially felt upset when she’d had a few alcoholic drinks at Mandy and Paddy’s wedding, only to be told off by Charity for drinking whilst on medication.

Hoping to give Sarah a ‘proper’ Dingle experience, Charity surprised her by taking her out joyriding in a fancy car tonight. Sarah was thrilled to be taking the wheels for a spin. She felt like a right little rebel.

Once they returned back to the village, Sarah’s inner criminal continued to make an appearance. She suggested torching the car so that they wouldn’t be caught for the theft (Sarah really went from 0 to 100 super fast, right?)

There was one slight problem with this though… the car wasn’t actually stolen. Yes, Sarah found out that she was still on the right side of the law when Vinny put his foot in it and revealed the car to be borrowed off his mate. Awks! We’ve never seen someone so upset about not breaking the law before…

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Jai and Laurel were still bickering like teenagers, unable to remain civil with each other whilst at work in The Hide (anyone else fed up of their same repetitive arguments yet?) Jai then dropped the bombshell that he was selling his shares of The Hide to the highest bidder! We could practically see the cogs whirring in Laurel and Gabby’s minds after this one as Laurel offered to buy Jai’s shares.

Gabby seemed to be doing hardly any work tonight (no change there) as she flirted with one of the customers at The Hide… in front of Vinny. Vinny’s jealousy was obvious as he quizzed Gabby on ‘Handsome Chris.’ Chill Vinny, this whole thing with Gabby’s only meant to be a bit of ‘fun,’ right?

  • As Charity takes Sarah on a true ‘Dingle experience’ – here’s what it takes to be a ‘proper Dingle’

As Charity takes Sarah on a true ‘Dingle experience’ – here’s what it takes to be a ‘proper Dingle’

The Dingle family are an integral part of Emmerdale. Well, without them, the village would be pretty much empty, and very, very quiet. Known for their criminal ways and fierce loyalty to one another, it takes a special type of person to risk getting on the wrong side of a Dingle.
Tonight in Emmerdale, Charity tried to give Sarah a ‘true Dingle experience’, when she took her out in a seemingly stolen sports car. This got us thinking, what is a ‘proper Dingle’?
Here’s everything you need to know about the Dingles in Emmerdale.
    Charity Dingle in Emmerdale

    All about the Dingle family

The Dingle family was first introduced in 1994, with Ben Dingle being the very first Dingle to arrive in the village. From then on, the Dingles have continued to expand and are now the biggest family in the Dales.
Many, many characters have married into the family, from Moira to Mackenzie. Dingle weddings are always a big occasion, with the entire family coming together. The latest Dingles to tie the knot are Mandy and Paddy – luckily, they won’t have to go through the hassle of changing their surnames.
The Dingles are known for causing chaos in the village and are very protective of another. While you can’t question their family loyalty, you can definitely question some of their actions.
So, what makes a proper, authentic Dingle?
The Dingle family watch Caleb drink from the welly
You’re not a true Dingle until you’ve drank from the welly (Credit: ITV)

    Drink from ‘the welly’

Like many other families, the Dingles have their traditions. One of their non-negotiable traditions is drinking from ‘the welly’.

This occurs whenever someone new is welcomed into the Dingle family. They are made to drink from a rubber Wellington boot, while the other family members cheer them on.

The details behind the odd tradition are not known, but every new Dingle has been made to drink from the welly since they arrived in the Dales. From Caleb to Tracy, they’ve all taken a sip from the welly.

    The Dingle Court interrogates Caleb
No one wants to face The Dingle Court (Credit: ITV)

    The Dingle Code

It’s often referred to as the ‘Dingle Code’ or ‘Dingle Rules’ in Emmerdale, but essentially the Dingles have a strict system they all follow. The rules are quite simple; you can lie, cheat, steal or worse, as long as it is not against another Dingle.

You must also never grass on another Dingle, especially not to the police. Should you break the Dingle Code, you’ll have to face the Dingle Court, or worse.

    The Dingle Court

The Dingle Court sees several members of the family come together to interrogate whichever Dingle has done something wrong. They may decide to banish or disown the member in question, but it is likely that they’ll eventually be forgiven and welcomed back into the fold.

Over the years many Dingles have had to face the court, including Caleb, Mandy, Vinny and Lydia. All have successfully been forgiven by the family, so the court isn’t quite as serious as it may initially seem.

Emmerdale spoilers tonight: Laurel is looking to the future

    1. Laurel wants to move forward

Laurel is trying to find her feet again in the aftermath of her messy split from Jai. She decided to call time on their marriage after discovering Jai’s appalling treatment towards Amit and Suni.

But since Laurel mentioned the word divorce, Jai has been doing all he can to make her suffer. He took Archie away and has been verbally abusing Laurel in front of customers at The Hide.

Laurel’s had enough and needs to find a way to get Jai off her case.

    2. Laurel has a proposition for Gabby

Laurel comes to stepdaughter Gabby with a proposition. Jai wants to sell his shares in The Hide, and she wants to buy them.

Gabby, who’s in no way a fan of Jai, reckons it’s a brilliant idea. She urges Laurel to go for it and take back control from her snaky spouse.

Laurel knows Jai just won’t calmly agree to the transaction, so her only option is to go behind his back. Playing Jai at his own game. We like!

Sarah’s recent reckless behaviour has left Charity reeling. Last week, she discovered her granddaughter had been drinking while taking her medication.

However, it seems Sarah is determined to carry on down a rebellious path. So Charity decides it’s time to teach her a thing or two.

Now it seems she wants to bring Sarah into her world. Hurrying the young lass out of the house, Charity promises her an experience she’ll never forget.

Sarah is shocked, then excited, to find Charity has stolen a car and wants them to go joyriding. But is everything as it seems? Is this all part of Charity’s bigger plan to reign Sarah in?

Poor Vinny finds himself in Charity’s firing line.

The lad recently lost his virginity to girlfriend Gabby. It was a massive deal for Vinny to take the next step in his relationship.

But Charity thinks Gabby is going to eat Vinny alive. She makes fun of his inexperience and points out Gabby has way more notches on her bedpost.

Charity ends up taking things too far and feels terrible for being unkind. Will she apologise to Vinny?

Review of the week: Tom’s shocking revenge, wedding bells, and a secret revealed

Well! There is a lot to say in this week’s Emmerdale review! Because what a week of Emmerdale that was!

Even in such an action-packed week, of course one story stands out: Tom’s evil attempt to hurt Belle by hurting Piper!

It was gasp-out-loud shocking and we are desperately hoping that Piper pulls through.

And that was only a small part of the dramatic events in this week’s Emmerdale. Read on for the rest of our Emmerdale review of the week to find out what we thought.

Paddy and Mandy’s super-quick wedding in our Emmerdale review

After a few hiccups, Paddy and Mandy finally made it to the altar for the second time, 25 years after they first tied the knot. They raced through their vows in record speed so they could get it all done before vicar Charles had to rush off again.

And that was really the theme of the whole thing – speed. Mandy’s money troubles only emerged a couple of weeks ago, she set up her fin-dom alter-ego Madame Diamante Dales last week, and paid off a chunk of her debts almost immediately.

Marlon, Paddy and Chas look at Bear's phone worriedly in Emmerdale spoilers

    The truth is out!

But within days, her future father-in-law Bear had found out, given her an ultimatum to stop or he would tell Paddy. Mandy agreed, but Bear set her up, exposed her – in a manner of speaking – and the truth was out.

Paddy decided the wedding was off, but a quick chat with Mandy later and everything was on again.

Our heads were spinning with the speed of it all. But we can’t deny it’s nice to see Paddy and Mandy happy. Let’s just hope it lasts!

John Sugden looks brooding in press picture
Newcomer John has intrigued us (Credit: ITV)

    Sugden secrets

Normally a newcomer to the village who’s hiding a secret leaves us cold. But to our own surprise, we’re finding John Sugden rather intriguing!

It’s partly the casting. Oliver Farnworth is bringing hints of both Jack and Robert Sugden to the role, and physically he’s perfect to be a Sugden. (We reserve the right to take all of this back in a future Emmerdale review if John turns out not to be a family member after all!)

John Sugden's dog tag with the name Aidan Moore in Emmerdale review
Why does John have a dog tag with the name Aidan Moore on it? (Credit: ITV)

    More secrets!

Anyway, John’s prickly nature and downright hatred of Mack has won us over (come on, Mack’s very annoying!). And then Victoria found his army dog tag. He said he didn’t want to talk about that part of his life, which is interesting in itself.

But it turned out the dog tag wasn’t even his! Instead it bears the name Aidan Moore. WHO is Aidan? Why does John have his dog tag? We’re definitely invested in this now.

    Vinny and Gabby

We loved Liv but it’s nice to see Vinny finding some happiness after so much heartache. And who knows, maybe he’ll calm Gabby down a bit. We think this unlikely match could just work.

    Poor Piper! (Credit: ITV/Emmerdale Insider)

    Tom and Piper

OMG, where to begin with this one?! We still feel a bit sick just thinking about it. Having tormented Belle while she was in Scotland with endless messages, her abusive husband Tom was determined to keep up his harassment when she returned.

First, he bought her a car, which everyone thought was totally lovely – except Belle herself (and Charity, who’s thankfully still suspicious). Belle turned down his gift, but Tom wasn’t finished.

He let himself into the cottage, bringing flowers and a pint of milk for Belle, and acting like everything was normal. He told Belle they should get back together, and when she said no, he wasn’t happy.

Tom tried his old tricks, telling Belle she wasn’t strong enough to make such a big decision. He even threatened to take his own life. It was tough to watch! But Belle stayed strong.

Tom and Belle in Emmerdale review
Tom was soon back to his old tricks (Credit: ITV)

    More threats

As usual, though, Tom had the upper hand – chillingly watching Belle through his hidden cameras. He could even see her undressing in the bathroom and later watched her sleep FROM INSIDE HER HOUSE. We’re into horror movie territory here!

And that wasn’t even the worst bit. In Friday’s episode, Belle stood up to Tom in public, humiliating him in the pub. And so Tom took terrible revenge.

He drove off in the Mini he’d bought for Belle and saw Piper in the road. Did he stop to make sure she was safe? No. He. Did. Not.

Instead, he put his foot down and accelerated towards the helpless pup.

Did you gasp out loud? We definitely did! Will evil Tom be the hero for saving the pooch’s life, or will he give Belle a shoulder to cry on if Piper doesn’t make it? Either way, it’s not looking good for Belle!

  • Emmerdale tonight: Tom became soap’s worst ever villain when he ran Piper over and Gabby confused us all

Emmerdale tonight: Tom became soap’s worst ever villain when he ran Piper over and Gabby confused us all

Emmerdale tonight could possibly have aired the worst scenes in its history. Tom took his anger out on Piper the dog in a way that has gone beyond anything he’s ever done before. We are shook.

Meanwhile, Gabby gave out confusing signals, but we think she likes Vinny, and Aaron’s pleased for them, so that’s all good.

There was plenty to talk about in Friday August 16 episode of Emmerdale.

    Peeping Tom the monster

Let’s talk about Tom first shall we? Actually let’s organise a mob to go and get him and make him suffer.

Just when we thought he couldn’t get any worse than secretly putting cameras in Belle’s house to spy on her getting changed and sleeping, he proved us wrong. He went further than he’s ever been before and he actually hurt Piper.

Belle decided to brave it out and go to Sam’s birthday drinks in the Woolpack. But lo and behold, Tom was there waiting. He tried to play the nice guy, but soon when she rejected him – and his car – again he grabbed her tightly by the wrist and became menacing. Of course, only very quietly so no one could hear him.

But then Belle flipped and shouted at him to leave her alone and get out. Tom stood up and made a big show of giving in to her demands leaving the punters in no doubt about who was in the wrong here.

It soon became clear why Tom had been so adamant about Belle taking the car – he’d put a GPS tracker in it. Of course he had.

But as he was driving it off to sell it on, he came across Piper in the road. He didn’t stop and rescue her, no, no, he put his foot down and drove straight at her. He ran Piper over.

HE RAN PIPER OVER. We cannot. We actually cannot deal with him. WHAT. A. MONSTER.

Later he was seen with the dog wrapped in a blanket running to the vets. Belle hurried after him as he promised to do all he could to save Piper’s life.

If that dog does not make it, we swear we will not be responsible for our actions.

    What does Gabby want?

Gabby was honoured Vinny’s first time was with her, but she just wants to keep it ‘fun’. Vinny seemed unclear what ‘fun’ was – and honestly, she confused us too. Not casual, apparently. So what?

Well certainly not doing things as a couple, because she was very reluctant to attend Sam’s birthday drinks with him. But was more than happy to have round two later on.

Meanwhile, Aaron told Vinny he was happy for him and glad he was moving on and it was all really lovely. As long as Gabby makes her mind up about what she wants, we see no trouble brewing here…

Charity is furious to find Sarah drunk in the back of a car and shouts at Mack in Emmerdale
Sarah wants more out of life (Credit: ITV)

Sarah was fed-up in Emmerdale tonight

Charity was furious to find Sarah hungover having slept in a car at the garage. She went mad telling Sarah she knows the risk of boozing. But Sarah is feeling fed-up. And we can’t blame her really – what does she have going on? An apprenticeship at the garage, no real friends and no romantic prospects, it’s not exactly scintillating for an 19-year old, is it?

So Charity promised her a day filled with excitement – and she didn’t mean Sam’s birthday party.

Mandy and Paddy were making their presence felt in Emmerdale tonight

Liam did not get much sleep after Mandy and Paddy’s bedroom Olympics. They ended up back at Liam’s place after Nicola chucked them out of the B&B for being too loud and disturbing the other guests. How classy.

Meanwhile, Liam’s space was well and truly invaded when Mandy announced she was moving in and giving the place a leopard print makeover. And she’s only going to charge him mates’ rates for her interior design skills. Lucky, lucky Liam.

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Nate tried to make friends with John, who made it clear as well as family, he also doesn’t need friends. Honestly, we’d have stopped bothering ages ago. But Victoria and Nate are both still pushing and finally got him to accept a drink in the pub later on. Small victories and all that.

Soon he even challenged Mack to a game of darts, which got fraught when Mack bet £100 he’d win. He lost.

Elsewhere, Amelia is fast becoming one of the most unlikeable people in the village. After laying into Noah last week and sticking by Samson, who’s done nothing for her ever apart from reject her and be mean, she laid into Belle tonight.

Without knowing anything at all about the situation, she stuck her nose in where it really wasn’t wanted and gave Belle what for for standing up to Tom. Apparently Belle was too harsh and Tom’s a good guy.

What it’s got to do with her, we really don’t know. But once again, Amelia’s behaviour has left us baffled. Has she ever spoken to Tom? Does she know anything about him? Is she developing a crush – is that where this is going? Maybe if sees what he’s really like, she’ll have the judgemental frown wiped off her face.

Why can’t Sarah Sugden drink? Her medical history explained

Sarah Sugden in Emmerdale hasn’t had an easy life since her birth on the soap opera in 2005. Stricken with all manner of health issues since childhood, poor Sarah has suffered a rare form of anemia, throat cancer and heart failure.

We can’t blame the youngster for wanting to cut loose and party a little, then – and tonight’s episode sees grandmother Charity furious when she learns that Sarah has been drinking.

But what effect will booze have on Sarah’s health?

Read on for a look at the troubled life and times of Sarah Sugden.

Who are the parents of Sarah Sugden in Emmerdale?

Sarah Sugden is the daughter of Debbie Dingle and Andy Sugden. After Debbie discovered that she had fallen pregnant aged only fifteen, she tried to hide the news and leave the baby at the hospital at birth.

However, her plans fell apart when she wound up giving birth in a shed – naming the child Sarah Charity after her grandparents, uh, Sarah and Charity.

    Fanconi anemia

In 2011, Sarah sparked worry in her family when they noticed that she was covered in bruises. Debbie took Sarah to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with a rare form of Fanconi anemia.

There doctors revealed that Sarah would need a bone marrow transplant to save her life. In spite of Debbie and Andy’s best efforts, neither could find a donor among their family – and it was decided that they would have a ‘saviour sibling’ to save her life.

In October 2012, Debbie gave birth to Sarah’s brother Jack  – and just in the nick of time too, as Sarah was now developing leukaemia. After the following bone marrow operation, Sarah was released from hospital where she reunited with her family at home.

Emmerdale: Sarah diagnosed with throat cancer

In 2017, Sarah returned to the village from France, where she had been living with her mum and brother. During this time, she had contracted throat cancer – which required an expensive treatment not available via the NHS.

Her family set up a crowdfunding page for Sarah, which received an anonymous donation of £20,000. Sarah learned that this had actually come from Faith Dingle – her long-lost great-grandmother.

Faith accompanied Sarah to Prague where she underwent treatment for the cancer – as Debbie was on bail at the time, and unable to leave the country.

Once returned, she underwent an operation in England which was also successful.

    Heart failure

In June 2018, Sarah collapsed after lashing out at her mother for her part in the acid attack upon Ross Barton. After being caught joy-riding and then grassing her mother up to the police for the acid attack, Sarah abruptly collapsed, and was taken to hospital.

There, doctors revealed that she was suffering from heart failure as a rare side-effect of the chemotherapy. She was informed that she would need a heart transplant, and her condition worsened when she picked up a virus while at the hospital.

By October, a suitable donor had been found for Sarah’s heart transplant. In spite of complications, the doctors managed to stabilise Sarah’s new heart, and she returned home to her family in December.

    Debbie leaves Sarah in Emmerdale

The next year, Sarah learned that her mother planned to leave the village from Scotland, where she had inherited a garage from Lisa Dingle.

Sarah, however, opted to stay, with Charity Dingle and her then-fiancée Vanessa Woodfield moving into Jacobs Fold to look after her.

    Danny Harrington

Following her mother’s exit, Sarah grew more rebellious and began acting out – entering into a relationship with the dangerous Danny Harrington.

Danny, it quickly became clear, was a bad influence on Sarah. He plied her with pills and alcohol in spite of her precarious health.

This led to her cousin Noah suffering an overdose when he stole the pills she had been holding. Although Noah recovered, Danny continued to apply pressure – attempting to get her to sell drugs on his behalf.

Feeling betrayed, Sarah planted the drugs in Danny’s pocket and reported him to the police. She soon realised how stupid she had been and started to take her decision more seriously.

    Fed-up Sarah Sugden in Emmerdale

Sarah struggled when Faith died in 2022. She had always thought her great-gran would be there for her in her final days, knowing she had a life-limiting condition.

Recently, it’s become clear Sarah’s at a loss over what to do with her life. She has become an apprentice mechanic, working for grandad Cain Dingle. But overall, it’s clear she feels there’s no fun for her.

At Mandy and Paddy’s wedding she tried to sneak a few drinks. But Charity caught her and told her no more than one on her medication.

On Friday August 16 she will get blind drunk, leaving Charity despairing. But then she comes up with a plan to give Sarah a very Dingle day out. Just what does that entail? And will it be more dangerous than drinking on her meds?!

    Vinny and his dad

When Paul Ashdale came to Emmerdale and revealed he was Vinny’s dad, it took a while for them to rebuild their relationship. Paul got back together with Vinny’s adoptive mum, Mandy Dingle, and things looked good.

But Paul was hiding his gambling addiction, and began abusing Vinny too.

On the morning of Mandy and Paul’s wedding, brave Liv confronted her boyfriend’s abuser – he went for her just as Jimmy King accidentally drove a truck into the wedding barn where they were. Liv forced a confession out of an injured Paul and walked away. Paul later died from his injuries.

The guilt of not getting Paul out ate away at Liv and she turned to alcohol to cope. It split her and Vinny up for a while, but they found their way back to each other eventually.

    Liv’s death

In October 2022, a storm raged through Emmerdale, bringing dangerously high winds to the village.

Liv was on her way to look after Eve while Chas had an illicit hook-up with Al Chapman, when a caravan came untethered in the winds. It trapped Liv against a wall and she suffered catastrophic injuries.

In heartbreaking scenes, paramedics told Liv there was nothing they could do to save her. Her lower body was crushed and the caravan was keeping her alive.  Aaron came to say goodbye and then Vinny spent his final, sad moments with his wife.
