Leanna Cavanagh: Her sad family history and tragic murder

Leanna Cavanagh seemed like the girl who had it all – a doting father, a handsome boyfriend, and big plans for her bright future.

But her life was cruelly taken away when she was murdered by Dales serial killer Meena Jutla.

So what was Leanna’s story and what happened to her?

Early days in Emmerdale for Leanna Cavanagh

Leanna was introduced to the Emmerdale viewers in early 2018, as the troubled teenage daughter of Dr Liam Cavanagh.

As a little girl, Leanna had lost her mum, and though when she was first on screen she was mean and unkind, her backstory made her seem more sympathetic.

    Jacob and Leanna

Leanna and Jacob hit it off straightaway but their first night together ended in disaster, when Jacob was nasty to Leanna.

They did reconcile, but Jacob went to stay in Portugal for a while, leaving Leanna feeling lonely.

    Making friends – or not!

Leanna was a difficult person to like at first. She used Amelia Spencer’s disappearance to her advantage and when Amelia returned, made her life difficult and bullied her.

And she started a rivalry with Gabby, too, trying to get her fired from her job as a waitress.

Of course, the real focus of Leanna’s scheming and troublemaking was always her dad’s partners.

She loathed Maya Stepney – her dad’s partner who cheated with David Metcalfe (and who later groomed and abused Jacob).

And she also took against Bernice – Liam’s new girlfriend – taking increasingly nasty steps to cause trouble for her.

But when Leanna made snide remarks that encouraged Bernice to buy dodgy Botox online, things began to change.

    Sad story

Bernice had an anaphylactic shock reaction to the Botox, she nearly died. Leanna’s mother died from an allergic reaction, and the storyline revealed a new side to the troublesome teenager.

After that, Bernice and Leanna rubbed along quite nicely – until Liam snogged Leyla!

Leanna tried her best to split her dad and Leyla, until she succeeded, when she did an about-turn and focused all her attention on getting them back together!

    Leanna’s death

By summer 2021, Leanna had become a much more popular member of the Emmerdale community. She was happily loved-up with Jacob, and the pair were planning to go travelling.

On the day of Leanna’s 18th birthday, stepmum Leyla was getting a party ready for Leanna.

But unfortunately for Leanna, she discovered that Meena was the one who’d stolen the money from the Pride event. And then she worked out that Meena had killed her friend Nadine, too.

Underestimating just how dangerous Meena was, Leanna legged it with the Dales killer in hot pursuit.

After a confrontation on the bridge between the pair, Meena threw her former friend over the wall and sent her crashing into the river.

    What happened to murderous Meena?

Meena went on to kill Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker. After a LOT of drama she was eventually apprehended and is currently in prison for life.

Who played Leanna Cavanagh in Emmerdale?

Leanna was played by actress and model Mimi Slinger. She’s since appeared in Masters of the Air on Apple TV+ and has signed with modelling agency Storm.

The King family tree: Tom King, his sons Jimmy, Matthew, Carl and Max and their tragic demise

The King family have had a presence in Emmerdale for two decades. In 2004, wealthy widower Tom King (Senior) arrived in the village. Along with him he brought three of his four grown up sons – Jimmy, Matthew and Carl. Youngest son Max followed later, as did Jimmy’s wife, Sadie.

The Kings became the new owners of Home Farm in 2005, and ran their successful haulage business King & Sons from the estate.

They may have had millions in the bank, but life at the big house brought the Kings nothing but misery and misfortune.

Here’s a look at all the tragedies the befell the family – who they all are and what happened to them…

Head of the King family in Emmerdale: Tom King

Tom was the former head of the King family and feared businessman, played by Ken Farrington.

He was dad of Jimmy, Matthew, Carl and Max. Tom also fathered a daughter, Scarlett, after he had an affair with her mother, Carrie Nicholls while she was caring for his terminally ill wife, Mary.

Tom was a multi-millionaire and owner of King & Sons, the haulage firm which he ran with Jimmy, Matthew, Carl and Jimmy’s then-wife Sadie.

Born into a wealthy family, Tom had grown up in Emmerdale. He was acquainted with locals including Frank Tate and Alan Turner.

In 2005, Tom took the throne at Home Farm, but his ruthless and unpleasant nature meant he wasn’t popular with many of the locals.

Tom became engaged to Charity Dingle, but jilted her at the alter after being tricked by Sadie into believing she’d cheated on him.

After losing son Max in a car crash, Tom invested in land and built The Kings River Housing development. But disaster struck on the day of the grand opening when the house exploded and killed three people.

Tom met his own grisly end on Christmas Day 2006.

He had just married gold-digging Rosemary Sinclair when he was pushed to his death off a balcony by a mystery figure – who later turned out to be his own son Carl!

Jimmy King and family in Emmerdale

James Frederick ‘Jimmy’ King is the longest-serving member of the family and played by actor Nick Miles.

He’s the eldest son of the late Tom King, and brother to the late Matthew, Carl and Max King. Jimmy is the husband of Nicola King and father of Elliot Windsor, Angelica King and Carl Holliday.

Introduced in 2004, Jimmy was initially portrayed as a cold-hearted businessman. But has since changed into a devoted family man and something of a comedy figure.

His most memorable storylines include the breakdown of his marriage to first wife Sadie King after discovering she’d bedded his brother Matthew, surviving being stabbed and suffering from amnesia after a blow to the head.

    Sadie King

Superbitch Sadie was the first wife of Jimmy King and played by Patsy Kensit.

Sadie may have married into the King clan, but she was the one who held all the power. And from the moment of her dramatic arrival via helicopter in 2004, it was clear she had a gameplan.

Jimmy was besotted with Sadie and desperate to start a family with her, but as it turned out she’d only married him for the money and was really in love with his younger brother, Matthew.

Sadie cheated on Jimmy with Robert Sugden and Cain Dingle, but it was her affair with Matthew that ended their marriage.

Post-Jimmy, Sadie tried every scheme in the book to get her hands on the King family’s fortune, but even Matthew saw through her in the end.

In a final act of revenge, Sadie hatched a dastardly plan with Cain to fake her own death. Sadie made her escape from the village and hasn’t been heard of since 2007 when she sent the Kings flowers and a note in the wake of Tom’s murder.

    Nicola King

Nicola is Jimmy’s feisty second wife and has been played by Nicola Wheeler since 2001.

She’s mum to their daughter Angelica and a mother figure to Jimmy’s two sons, Elliot and Carl.

Nicola and Jimmy had a fling 2009 which resulted in Nicola discovering she was 17 weeks pregnant.

Daughter Angelica ‘Angel’ was born in August of that year, and Nicola went on to become Mrs King.

The couple had a short-lived stint as landlord and landlady of The Woolpack, but Nicola found it too much of a juggle managing a busy bar and a baby.

Being a stay-at-home mum was never the life ambitious Nicola wanted. She became a councillor, although has since had to step down due to daughter Angelica’s lies over joy riding. She has shares in the cafe and is a part-owner of the Grange B&B. Meanwhile, Jimmy runs the haulage firm with Will Taylor.

Jimmy and Nicola have weathered many a storm and 2024 has been one of their toughest years yet following Angelica imprisonment for dangerous driving.

    Angelica King

Angelica Mary ‘Angel’ King is the only daughter of Jimmy and Nicola King, and the half-sister of Elliot and Carl.

The character has been played by Rebecca Bakes since 2009.

Angel had a dramatic entrance into the world when she was born prematurely, then kidnapped by Carl’s wife Lexi King.

Lexi, who had tragically suffered the loss of her own baby, snatched Angel and took her up to the roof of the hospital, before Jimmy and Nicola rescued their daughter.

Angelica is currently serving time in a secure children’s home after she was responsible for a car crash that killed her friend Heath Hope.

Nicola and Jimmy tried to prevent her going to prison, but Angelica was handed an eight-month sentence.

    Elliot Windsor

Elliot Windsor is the son of Jimmy King and Kelly Windsor and half-brother of Angelica King and Carl Holliday.

The character is played by Luca Hoyle.

Elliot was born in America and Jimmy didn’t even know of his existence until he was three years old.

In 2012, Elliot’s mum Kelly sent him to live with Jimmy and Nicola on a permanent basis. He sees Nicola as a mother figure and calls her mum.

    Carl Holliday

Carl Holliday is Jimmy’s son with Juliette Holliday, who was conceived after a mix-up at the fertility clinic when Juliette was impregnated with the wrong man’s sperm.

After giving birth, Juliette felt she couldn’t cope with the responsibility of a child and left Carl in the care of Jimmy and Nicola.

Juliette returned to the village in 2021 in search of her son and the pair slowly started to get to know one another.

Sadly, Juliette decided motherhood ultimately wasn’t for her and went to live in New York with her boyfriend.

Matthew King – the cruellest of the King family in Emmerdale

Matthew Thomas ‘Matt’ King was the second son of Tom and Mary King, and played by Matt Healey.

He was the most cruel and manipulative of the four King brothers, and Tom’s favourite child.

The character’s heartless nature was shown early on when he helped cover up the death of postman Paul Marsden and conned his widow.

He was a ruthless womaniser too and didn’t think twice about stealing another man’s  missus. And then tossing her aside when he got what he wanted.

Matthew had a torrid affair with Jimmy’s wife Sadie, which ended badly when he realised how evil she really could be.

After Tom’s murder, Matthew took control of the family business, but frequently fell out with Jimmy and Carl.

A happy ending looked to be on the cards when Matthew fell madly in love with Anna De Souza.

    Unfortunately it wasn’t to be.

On the day of their intended wedding, Anna jilted Matthew after Carl revealed he’d played a part in the death of her father Donald.

In revenge, Matthew attempted to mow Carl down in a van, but ended up crashing into a wall. He died at the scene of the crash, in Anna’s arms.

Carl King and his twisted family in Emmerdale

Carl Thomas King was the third son of Tom and Mary and played by Tom Lister.

The character was a notorious lothario and villain, who wreaked havoc in the Dales for eight years.

Carl was the first King to move to the village in 2004.

At that time he was married to first wife Colleen, with whom he shared children Anya and Tom.

Carl may have been a taken man, but that didn’t stop him pursuing other women.

When Colleen eventually threw him out, Carl embarked on a turbulent on/off romance with fellow single parent Chas Dingle.

Tom disapproved of his son being involved with Chas, and it was for that reason Carl pushed him to his death.

Carl was briefly wed to Lexi Nicholls, but admitted he only married her because she knew his killer secret.

Finding himself single again, Carl wormed his way back into Chas’s heart. He had an affair with Eve Shaw and Chas took her revenge by exposing the affair on their wedding day and jilting Carl at the altar.

But Carl’s obsession with winning Chas back proved to be his undoing.

During a dramatic final showdown in 2012, Carl attempted to rape Chas but she managed to escape after hitting him over the head with a brick.

Chas’s lover Cameron Murray then found Carl, a fight ensued, and Cameron bludgeoned Carl to death with a brick.

Carl’s death occurred during Emmerdale’s 40th anniversary live episode, which was watched by an audience of 8.8 million.

    Thomas ‘Tom’ King

Thomas ‘Tom’ King is the son of Carl and Colleen King, brother of Anya King and the nephew of Jimmy King.

Tom was named after his paternal grandfather, Tom King, and has followed in his late Uncle Max’s footsteps by becoming a vet.

The character has been played by four different actors since 2004 and is currently portrayed by James Chase.

Tom is the husband of Belle Dingle, but behind closed doors has been subjecting his wife to violent abuse and coercive control.

Tom showed signs of having a dark side from an early age.

He blamed Chas for his father’s murder and subjected her to a campaign of terror – sending disturbing photographs and making anonymous threatening calls.

Tom’s stalking was eventually discovered and he went to live with his mum in Saudi Arabia in 2013.

He returned to the Dales a decade later and charmed his way into Belle’s affections.

Since their marriage in February 2024, Tom has been subjecting Belle to a horrendous campaign of physical and mental abuse.

    Anya King

The daughter of Carl and Colleen King and the sister of Tom King Jnr, Anya has never been a regular character, but has appeared on screen numerous times.

Anya moved with her mum to Saudi Arabia in 2010, but returned with Thomas at Christmas for her dad’s wedding to Chas. However, she left swiftly after the disastrous ceremony.

She then made her final appearance in 2012 after her father’s death. Brother Tom has mentioned her since his return, commenting that they are not close.

But could we see Anya reappear at some point soon?

Max King – the youngest son

Maxwell Harold ‘Max’ King was the youngest son of Tom and Mary King, played by Charlie Kemp.

He was the brother of Jimmy, Matthew and Carl King, as well as the half-brother of Scarlett Nicholls.

Max arrived in Emmerdale in early 2005, almost a year after the introduction of the rest of the King clan.

Unlike his money-hungry brothers, Max had zero interest in the family firm. He’d trained at university to become a vet and spent time travelling the world.

In late 2005, Tom bullied Max into helping him acquire some land by poisoning the animals that belonged to the owners.

Unable to live with the guilt of what he’d done, Max decided to flee the village – but was killed in a car crash on his way out.

    He was only 25-years-old.

    Scarlett Nicholls

Tom King Senior’s illegitimate daughter with Carrie Nicholls, who nursed his wife Mary as she was dying of cancer, was only revealed to her half brother’s after Tom’s death. His will revealed he had left her 25 percent of Home Farm and 10 percent of King & Sons, to be held in trust until her 18th birthday.

Scarlett was born in 1991 and met her brothers when she was 15. She became close to Jimmy and decided to stay under Jimmy’s care when Carrie emigrated to Canada. However after being betrayed by brother Carl and boyfriend Adam Barton cheated on her, Scarlett left for Canada too in 2011.

She returned after Carl’s death in 2012 and supported Jimmy during the will reading. However she then went back to Canada and hasn’t been seen since.

Scarlett was played by Kelsey-Beth Crossley.

  • Lydia Dingle’s Rose put-down declared ‘Best line ever!’

Lydia Dingle’s Rose put-down declared ‘Best line ever!’

Lydia Dingle in Emmerdale has had a tough time of late, but it seems she’s back to her sparky self after her comment to Kim Tate last night.

On Monday (July 22) Lydia discovered exactly what Rose Jackson has been up to and immediately reported back to Kim.

However, Kim didn’t want to act straightaway – something Lydia advised against given what she thought of Rose. She then issued the ultimate put-down, which had fans praising the writing and calling it the ‘best line ever’ in the soap.

Lydia finds out about Rose’s plot in Emmerdale

Viewers know Rose is working with Ruby Fox-Miligan to bring down Kim. And so far the plan seems to be working as Rose has managed to orchestrate Kim moving out of Home Farm and turned the whole family against her.

After Rose attempted to spike Will’s champagne and entrap him, the glasses got mixed up and Dawn drunk the drugged drink (try saying that when you’ve had a few!) Dawn passed out while driving, crashed her car into Ella Forster’s vehicle and now firmly believes Kim spiked her. She thinks Kim was trying to set Rose up, rather than it being the other way round. Never mind that Kim wasn’t anywhere near the glasses when the drinks were poured – or that it was Will who poured and served, Dawn’s mind is made up.

In order to protect Evan, Kim said she would move out to make everyone feel safe. Now Rose is lording it around the manor, having the gall to suggest Will change the locks and that Kim will never be allowed to move back into the house. The millions of pounds stately home that she owns, that is. Okay, Rose, who died and made you Queen?

Lydia looks annoyed as she overhears Rose

But Rose soon slipped up on Monday when she bossed Lydia about and then made a phone call to Ruby. Only loyal Lydia had the baby monitor on and listened to every word Rose said. Cocky Rose discussed the plan and said: “Job done,” before asking for a bonus.

Lydia immediately reported to Kim and Kim wanted to sit tight and wait for Rose to trip herself up.

Lydia then said: “Look I don’t want to worry you, and Will has done nothing to encourage her, but the way she looks at him… It’s like she’s a hungry cat and he’s a tin of sardines.”

    Fans in hysterics

Emmerdale fans thought Lydia‘s line was priceless and some declared it the ‘best’ ever uttered.

“Still howling over Lydia’s comment to Kim about the way Rose looks at Will – ‘She’s like a hungry cat and he’s a tin of sardines!’” one wrote on social media.

Other immediately agreed: “Me too, one of the best lines ever,” said someone. Another added: “It was brilliant, wasn’t it? Great writing.”

“It was a classic line,” said one more.

A fifth added: “Love Lydia and Kim’s friendship. So genuine and Kim knows that Lydia has no ulterior motive. She just likes her.”

We’re still laughing at the image of Will as a sardine!

Kim and Rose plot leaves fans ‘so angry’ as they say they can ‘barely watch’

Emmerdale fans are not happy about the latest twist in Rose and Ruby‘s campaign to make Kim Tate’s life a misery!

And they’re demanding that things change soon or they’ll be turning off their televisions!

Rose [CHRISTINE TREMARCO] receives a mysterious message and heads to the outskirts of the village where she meets a dealer who gives Rose a vial of tranquilliser telling her to await further instruction.

    Revenge for Rose and Ruby!

Rose is working for Ruby, who seems to be out for revenge on Kim, for reasons that aren’t completely clear.

And that means she’s taking every opportunity to drive a wedge between Kim and husband Will. Most recently she took delivery of some drugs – paid for by Ruby – that she intended to use to spike Will’s drink, and then take advantage of his snoozy state to make it look like she’d seduced him.

The plot backfired when the glasses got muddled up and Dawn drank the spiked drink.

Everyone thought Kim was to blame – especially after Ruby arranged for the drug dealer to march into Home Farm and demand payment from a bewildered Kim.

Rose dug the knife in further with daughter Dawn, encouraging her to blame Kim, and Kim – realising she couldn’t win – moved out of her own home and into the B&B.

Rose [CHRISTINE TREMARCO] saves the day when Dawn Fletcher [OLIVIA BROMLEY] forgets Clemmie’s birthday, successfully pulling off a spontaneous birthday party, leaving Dawn and Will Taylor [DEAN ANDREWS] grateful but Kim Tate [CLAIRE KING] excluded and uninvited.

    The winner takes it all

It looks like Rose and Ruby have won – for now – but Kim’s playing the long game. At least, we hope that’s what she’s doing!

The viewers, though, are NOT impressed.

They’re fuming that Kim has had to move away from her own home and they’re ready to take action if things don’t change!

“My blood is boiling with the Kim storyline,” said one disgruntled viewer. Another agreed: “It’s getting me so angry I can barely look at the screen when Dawn, Rose or Will are on.”

“The Kim and Rose storyline is the most ANNOYING thing,” fumed another fan.  “After everything Kim’s done for Dawn and she believes Rose who’s only been there for five mins!!”

Another viewer said the storyline was “stupid” pointing out that Kim would never leave her own home.

Just as Will Taylor [DEAN ANDREWS] is about to take a drink from the spiked drink, Dawn Fletcher [OLIVIA BROMLEY] and Kim Tate [CLAIRE KING] return home and two more drinks are poured meaning Rose [CHRISTINE TREMARCO] loses track of which drink is spiked.. Biding her time?

But one fan – who has clearly been an Emmerdale fan since the glory days of the Tates ruling Home Farm – had some advice for other viewers.

“Stay calm!” the knowledgeable fan reassured everyone. “Kim will have the last laugh, she always bides her time.”

There was even a prediction that Ruby could end up at the bottom of the stairs!

While we’re not sure the all new, softer Kim Tate would go that far, we are hoping that Ruby and Rose get their comeuppance soon!

  • The real Kim Tate is back reveals Claire King as she takes on Ruby and Rose: ‘They’re no match for Kim’

The real Kim Tate is back reveals Claire King as she takes on Ruby and Rose: ‘They’re no match for Kim’

For anyone asking just what has happened to Kim Tate in Emmerdale, Claire King has got good news for you: the old Kim will make a return as she takes on Ruby and Rose and vows to bring them down. Rather them than us!

In a recent interview with Emmerdale Insider and other media, Claire said: “I keep getting everybody asking me, what has happened to Kim? Why is she being so soft? But I think she’s doing it for the family. She wants to keep the family together.”

But will she succeed in getting herself back on top? We know who our money is on!

Dawn, Will, Kim and Rose in the kitchen at Home Farm

Claire King insists Kim is ‘more dangerous than Ruby’ in Emmerdale

Home Farm is in turmoil after Rose tried to drug and entrap Will, but accidentally drugged Dawn instead. She’s managed to pin the blame on Kim, forcing Kim to move out to the B&B to protect baby Evan, and next week will seduce Will. So it looks like Rose and Ruby’s evil plot to get the better of Kim is working.

But this is Kim Tate, the queen of Emmerdale, we’re talking about and Claire insists Kim has not met her match.

“I think Ruby would like to think she’s met her match, but I don’t think she’s on a par with Kim. Kim could be a little bit more dangerous!”

So what about Rose? “I think [Kim’s] probably got quite a good idea of what she’s up to,” assures Claire. “Apart from Ruby pulling her strings. I don’t think she sees Rose as a terrible threat, but it’s probably wrong for Kim to think that actually.”

    Will falls for Rose’s tricks

Dean Andrews, who plays Will, admits that his alter ego is about to do something really, really, really stupid when he cheats on Kim and ends up in bed with Rose.

“Will thinks that Kim’s spiked the drinks, so he goes to see her but she ignores him. So he goes home feeling a bit sorry for himself and gets a little bit of love from Rose. And a little more love from her a bit later on!”

“But of course, she’s been paid to do that!” Claire points out!

“He really regrets it,” Dean carries on. “It’s just one of those moments of madness. He really does love Kim and wants harmony back in the house.”

The old Kim Tate would never forgive Will for this. But Claire thinks perhaps after a bit of revenge it’ll all be okay.

“I think because of the way Kim is, it’s going to be a very big hump to get over. I would imagine she will be exacting revenge,” she explains.

“It’s been a very nice sort of two or three years of playing happy families. But I think that’s always going to be within her and it’s going to come out at some point. I fear for Rose and I fear for Ruby!”

Emmerdale star Claire King on Kim’s revenge

On that note, Claire is desperately looking forward to the revenge plot – and we don’t blame her, because we are too!

“I can’t wait! I’ve got them all lined up,” Claire says. “There are a few that have wronged her. There’s Rose to sort out, Ruby, Will’s got to have a bit of a slap around the chops. So yeah, there’s a few. Probably Caleb in there just for good measure. Maybe chuck a Dingle in there! Sounds a bit busy, doesn’t it!”

Given Kim’s track record of leaving people to die, faking her own death and hiring assassins, there’s no telling what she’ll do. If she’s still capable that is…

“I think she is more than capable,” says Claire. “But whether she would go down that line now I’m not sure. It depends how badly things go. But obviously this is an ultimate betrayal for her. I think Rose is in serious doo doo!”

Spoilers: Jai makes Laurel’s life hell as their divorce gets ugly

Jai and Laurel have split up and in Emmerdale spoilers for next week he’s still not taking it well. In fact, he wants to punish her as he’s under the misguided belief she is out to get him.

But as his behaviour starts to make others feel uncomfortable, will Jai rein it in?

The divorce is final for Laurel

Laurel told Jai their marriage was over after she found out what he had done to Amit. Jai made things worse by only giving her the PG version of events and when Pollard told her everything – including the broken leg and locking Amit in a cupboard – Laurel told Jai to come clean to Suni.

When Jai couldn’t do it, Laurel called him weak and ended their marriage. She then had a heart attack and Jai thought this would make her reassess her decision and they’d get back together.

    Wrong.

In fact, it made Laurel more determined than ever to press ahead with their separation. They’ve now told the kids, Jai and Archie have moved out to Holdgate and last week things seemed civil between the exes.

    So what’s happened this week?

Jai makes work difficult in Emmerdale spoilers

Well, it seems Laurel has brought up solicitors and Jai is not happy. Mainly he’s not happy at her insensitive timing as she mentioned them on their wedding anniversary, which is also the anniversary of Rishi’s death. Maybe she could have waited a day…

Angry Jai takes his frustrations out on Laurel at the Hide. He begins making her life difficult, especially when he clocks her and Nicola talking. He assumes they are plotting against him so sets out to punish Laurel first.

Jai makes belittling comments to his estranged wife, and makes things at work very awkward. So much so, the other staff also notice it and begin to feel uncomfortable. They’re frankly fed-up of having to listen to him!

    Laurel stands up to Jai

Laurel stands her ground and insists she’s no pushover, but by this point Jai has got a real bee in his bonnet. He has decided that Laurel is out to get him. Jai believes she’s planning to take him for everything in the divorce.

Whether or not this is what she is thinking (we reckon likely not) Jai is determined to make sure it doesn’t happen. Can he put a stop to this imaginary plot? Or will Laurel decide he really is so petty she actually is going to rinse him in court?

Rose’s plot to poison Will against Kim, and destroy their marriage, is gathering pace nicely. It hasn’t been entirely straightforward though.

Things hit a snag when Rose tried to entrap Will with drugged champagne and accidentally ended up poisoning daughter Dawn Fletcher!

The manipulative minx turned things round by framing Kim and making everyone believe it was a targeted attack against her. With Kim now banished to the B&B, Rose has now seemingly taken her love rival’s place at Home Farm.

In Emmerdale spoilers for next week Samson gets an idea of what life behind bars is going to be like from uncle and prison veteran Cain Dingle. But when Moira steps in, things get very messy indeed.

In fact, before too long, Moira is taking things way too far. Can anyone stop her from dishing out her own form of punishment on Samson?

    Samson unfazed by prison life

So viewers know Moira will never forgive Samson for lying about the stabbing and putting her son Matty behind bars. Being trans, Matty had a particularly awful time inside and it was only when Lydia realised Samson was lying and that Matty had stabbed him in self-defence, did she put her foot down and insist Samson go to the police.

Sam was fuming as he wanted his son to do a runner instead of coming clean. But fortunately Samson finally found his morals – and although he refused to dob in ‘friend’ Josh, he got Matty out with his new version of the story.

However what it does mean is that Samson will be going to prison. He has his plea hearing coming up and as he’s pleading guilty is fully aware a stint inside is a definite. He says he’s fine with it and seems rather chilled about the whole situation.

Worried Lydia realises he’s got no idea of the reality of life behind bars, so Sam asks Aaron to give Samson a pep talk about life in prison.
