  • What happened in Emmerdale tonight: April opened up to Marlon as Aaron and Ruby shared a heart-to-heart

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: April opened up to Marlon as Aaron and Ruby shared a heart-to-heart

In Emmerdale tonight, Marlon Dingle finally got the answers he’d been searching for as April began to open up (Thursday, February 6). April is in hospital recovering from complications surrounding her pregnancy – which tragically resulted in a stillbirth earlier this week.

As Marlon sat at his daughter’s bedside, she filled him in on what had happened to her, who the father was… and her plans for the coming weeks. Can Marlon continue to support troubled April?

Elsewhere, Charity struck gold as she dug for dirt on Joe, and Aaron opened his heart up to Ruby. But can she do the same for Caleb?

Meanwhile, news of April began to spread, and Leyla faced tough questions from Jacob.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight.

April opened up to Marlon on Emmerdale tonight

As April recovered in hospital, she began to open up to her dad. Marlon‘s first questions were about the pregnancy  – why didn’t she tell her parents? Did she even know?

She revealed how she’d been on the verge of telling them before finding out how her mum had died. Feeling as though she’d been lied to her whole life, why not a secret of her own?

Marlon told her that the police had looked into her social media accounts and knew she’d been taking drugs. She told him how she felt invisible in her own home; that she’d taken a background to Leo and Ivy and Rhona and his own stroke.

As she filled him in on the last month, she revealed how Becca had been stabbed while trying to get April’s purse back. Putting two and two together, Marlon realised that Becca had been the girl he’d identified. And the father of the baby?

It was then that April grew cold, insisting that he was just ‘a random lad at a party,’ and that she didn’t even know his name. She then asked what had happened to the baby. Accusing him of being glad that there was no longer a baby, she stressed that she wouldn’t be coming home.

Later, Rhona snuck in as April slept, and the pair shared an emotional reunion. As she assured April that everything would be okay, Dylan watched through the window.

He was gone by the time Marlon returned. As the worried parents swapped notes, Marlon fretted that the daughter he once new was now gone forever.

    Charity dug for dirt

With Joe and Dawn upstairs, Charity snooped around Home Farm. Panicking as Kim returned, she grabbed the closest thing to hand – a laptop – and snuck back out.

What will she find on Kim’s laptop?

Aaron and Ruby shared a heart-to-heart

Aaron paid a visit to Ruby, hoping to talk things out. Ruby – who was looking glamorous swigging cocktails alone at home – assured him that he had no reason to feel guilty, and should stop tormenting himself.

As they shot the breeze, Aaron opened up over his self-harm, telling her how the guilt of supposedly ‘killing’ Anthony had brought him to the verge of almost doing so again. He was concerned for her – that she was bottling up her own trauma and not talking to Caleb.

She admitted that she found it tough, and wished that Caleb was still in the dark about Anthony’s abuse. She spoke of how she’d pushed Steph away as a child and now felt rejected by Caleb, who pities her.

It was then that Caleb returned home. As Aaron left, Caleb entreated her to talk to him – a tone of voice she didn’t appreciate. He reassured her that he didn’t see her as a victim; that he loved her now more than ever.

    Also on Emmerdale tonight…

Back in the Woolpack, Mary and Bob shared the gossip that April had been found, safe and sound. Nobody had bothered to tell Ross though, who walked in to be the recipient of good news for once.

Over at the Dingles, Gabby and Vinny snuck off for some alone time. Can she divert herself from naughty thoughts of Joe?

Lonely Leyla was at a loose end once more, with Jacob already having made lunch plans. He continued to press her on the restaurant she supposedly went to with Suzy, resulting in another flurry of excuses. Will Jacob cotton on to his mum’s loneliness?

  • EXCLUSIVE: The father of April’s baby ‘worked out’ by Emmerdale fans

EXCLUSIVE: The father of April’s baby ‘worked out’ by Emmerdale fans

Fans of Emmerdale have revealed who they think the father of April’s baby is in an exclusive poll. Viewers learned this week that April Windsor had fallen pregnant prior to running away from the village on Christmas Day, rather than face her parents’ shame and disapproval.

In tonight’s episode (Thursday, February 6), April opened up to her father, telling him where she’d been and how Becca came to wind up in Hotten General, dead and holding her ID. And, as the subject turned to that of April’s stillborn child, Marlon finally asked the question on everyone’s lips: who’s the daddy?

April’s demeanor immediately changed. The father was a boy she’d met at a party, she told him – and she didn’t even know his name. This lines up with what she told Dylan and Becca in Tuesday’s episode, suggesting she’s telling the truth.

But with some viewers suspecting that it might have been Anthony or Ross, is it really so simple?

Who’s the father of April’s baby in Emmerdale?

In answer to our poll, Emmerdale fans revealed whether they think April is telling the truth.

Out of 38 viewers polled, 71% believe that the father is a random lad – and one that we’ve never seen before.

The remaining 29% believe that it could have been a pre-existing character – Ross or Anthony, for instance.

    Emmerdale's Arthur is smiling
No, it wasn’t Arthur… probably (Credit: ITV)

All the fan theories so far – and why they don’t make sense

Amid speculation, Anthony and Ross emerged as frontrunners to have potentially groomed vulnerable young April. However, upon deeper examination, neither holds up – both characters entered the soap late last year (October for Ross, Anthony in November), meaning that the timelines don’t add up – even if April did go into early labour.

Furthermore, it’s hard to imagine Ross would commit such an act. Anthony, while a monstrous figure, seemed more concerned with tormenting Ruby.

Another theory has suggested that a confused Arthur could have been responsible. However, that seems like a dubious prospect too, given that he came out as gay in 2022.

  • Fans ‘work out’ Joe’s very dark plan for Noah – there could be another Emmerdale death

Fans ‘work out’ Joe’s very dark plan for Noah – there could be another Emmerdale death

Since Joe Tate returned to Emmerdale late last year, he has been hiding a big secret. Now, fans think they have worked out his dark plan – and it’s bad news for Noah.

Joe arrived back in the village on Christmas Eve. While he has got his feet under the table at Home Farm, his shifty behaviour has caused fans to wonder exactly what he is up to.

Several scenes have depicted Joe in pain or struggling for breath, leading fans to speculate that Joe has a life-threatening condition and is in need of a transplant from a relative such as Noah Dingle.

He’s also been shown talking to a mystery caller amid claims of a painkiller addiction. Now fans believe they have worked out what Joe’s dark plan for Noah is, and it could mean another Emmerdale death.

Joe and Noah’s relationship in Emmerdale

Since arriving back in Emmerdale, Joe has tried to build bridges with his half brother Noah after previously letting Noah believe he was dead.

However, Noah’s mum Charity Dingle has not been on board with this and has attempted to put a stop to any relationship between the pair.

After offering Noah VIP tickets to a Leeds football match, Joe was forced to withdraw the gesture after being threatened by Charity. Charity also returned a watch to Joe that he’d tried to gift to Noah, and accused him of trying to buy her son.

Despite Joe’s apparent desire to get closer to Noah, Joe has actually been secretly sabotaging Noah by posting fake negative reviews of his electrician business.

Wednesday’s episode of Emmerdale saw Joe trying to console Noah over the loss of customers. He also planted seeds in Noah’s head by telling him how much he could earn if he made the move to Dubai.

Fans predict Joe’s dark plan for Noah

Emmerdale fans don’t believe Joe has Noah’s best interests at heart and think he could actually have a very dark plan up his sleeve, which would put Noah’s life at risk.

Joe wants Noah in Dubai as it’s prob the only place that will do any dodgy operation for his body parts,” wrote one viewer on X, while another agreed, writing: “Joe wants to take Noah to harvest his organs.”

“I wonder if there is something wrong with Joe that requires a transplant and he’s eyeing up Noah as a donor and wants to take him abroad for the op and away from Charity,” speculated a third fan.

A fourth fan said: “Noah run, it’s your organs Joe‘s after,” with a fifth viewing saying: “Does Joe wanna kidnap Noah and nick a kidney or something worse?”

Dawn affair revealed as she falls pregnant with Joe’s baby, new fan theory predicts

A new Emmerdale fan theory has predicted that Dawn Fletcher will fall pregnant with Joe Tate’s baby and their affair will be revealed to all.

Joe arrived back in Emmerdale over Christmas and it wasn’t long before he caught the eye of Dawn, who is married to Billy Fletcher.

But as we know, affairs don’t stay secret for long in soap land and one fan theory has predicted that this one will come out when Dawn gets pregnant.

    Dawn and Joe in Emmerdale

After Joe Tate moved into Home Farm, it was inevitable that something would happen between him and Dawn. The pair bickered, but the chemistry was plain to see.

Last month, they finally gave in to temptation and shared a kiss. Kim Tate then informed Dawn that Joe would be her new boss.

Dawn accused Joe of engineering the situation on purpose so he could get closer to her. Once again, the tension between the pair boiled over – but this time they went all the way and slept together.

While Dawn felt guilty for cheating on Billy, she has been unable to stay away from Joe.

Their affair is set to be discovered by Charity Dingle this week. While she agrees to keep it a secret, it’s surely just a matter of time before the affair is exposed.

Fan theory predicts Dawn will fall pregnant with Joe’s baby

Taking to X, one fan has a theory about how the affair will be revealed. They wrote: “I said it the first time Dawn slept with Joe – she will probably end up getting pregnant and now they have done it a few more times, it must be anytime soon that the cat is out of the bag.”

A second fan agreed, adding: “Joe & Dawn have got chemistry and she will get pregnant obviously.” While a third fan said: “Since Dawn is cheating, I wonder if she’ll get pregnant?”

On Facebook, fans had the same idea, with one writing: “So when will Dawn find out she’s pregnant then?”

Has Paula Lane already left Emmerdale? Fans are confused over Ella’s on-screen absence

Emmerdale fans are confused about why Ella Forster has not been on-screen of late and are wondering if Paula Lane has already left the soap.

It was revealed last year that Paula Lane is leaving the soap after just a year in the role of Ella.

However, Ella hasn’t been seen on screen much lately leaving viewers confused and wondering if they missed her exit.

    Ella Forster in Emmerdale

Paula Lane has played Ella since January 2024. Ella was first seen on screen attending a vets function at The Hide Bar. After her boss mocked Mandy Dingle‘s outfit, Ella came to her defence and poured a drink over his head.

Ella and Mandy soon became friends and after hearing them talking, Manpreet offered Ella a new job as a receptionist at the surgery.

Ella settled into the Dales and caught the attention of Liam Cavanagh. However, it was soon revealed that Ella was hiding a dark secret.

When she had been 11, Ella – then named Ruth – had got into a fight with her best friend Joanne, which resulted in Joanne’s death.

While she managed to resume life in Emmerdale, despite her secret being revealed, she was heartbroken when Liam decided he wanted to be with Chas Dingle instead.

Most recently, Ella was seen on screen last month when Wendy Posner spoke to a journalist about Ella’s history. Wendy was shunned for throwing her colleague under the bus and she promptly left the village. However, Ella has been nowhere to be seen since.

Has Paula Lane left the role of Ella in Emmerdale?

Fans have taken to social media to question Ella’s on-screen absence.

Writing on Reddit, one fan said: “Has Ella gone? Know the actress quit suddenly, she’s not mentioned in the spoilers. Is she gone already? Did she leave when Wendy ratted her out?”

Another fan wondered the same thing and also added: “I feel bad for Paula Lane. Apart from that one episode where her secret was revealed, they really gave her NOTHING to work with.”

“Her exit would’ve been revealed. She should stop filming this month, so will leave in March/ April,” shared another viewer, while a fourth asked: “Hasn’t she stopped already?”

An update to Paula Lane’s Spotlight page revealed that she will stop filming in February 2025, so it looks like we will be getting a bit more of Ella before she exits.

  • April’s friend Dylan is Joe Tate’s secret son, a fan theory predicts – and they want character full time

April’s friend Dylan is Joe Tate’s secret son, a fan theory predicts – and they want character full time

A new Emmerdale fan theory has predicted that April Windsor‘s friend Dylan is the secret son of Joe Tate. April met Dylan as she was sleeping rough on the streets of Leeds. He stepped in and rescued her from a local predator as she sought a bed for the night – bringing her back to his shelter where would live for the next month.

When we last saw Dylan, the police had nabbed him during a raid on their lodgings. April fled into the street, where she went into labour and ultimately suffered a stillbirth.

With the character already proving popular among fans, many have hoped he might return to the soap sometime soon. And one fan has come up with a theory which might bring him back full time.

Is Dylan somehow related to Joe?

Dylan is Joe Tate’s secret son, Emmerdale fan predicts

Writing on X, one viewer put forth their theory for Dylan’s ‘true’ identity – suggesting he might have something to do with Joe and his mysterious phone calls and painkiller addiction.

“What if Dylan ( the boy from tonight’s April episode) is Joe Tate’s dealer or his secret son? We know Joe is taking pills at the moment but where is he getting them from? This could be a good way to bring Dylan onto the show,” this fan wrote.

Whether or not Dylan might have ties to Joe, others are hoping to see him return to Emmerdale.

Bring Dylan on full time, fans beg

“Please bring the young lad in to the show who looked after April,” wrote one fan in a comment on Instagram.

“100% agree. What a belting actor he is. He’d be a great addition to the show,” said another.

“Shouldn’t April go to thank him and offer him assistance? Yes,” a third said, asking and answering their own question.

  • Fans predict two characters’ deaths in limo lake stunt as they randomly reappear on-screen from nowhere ahead of tragedy

Fans predict two characters’ deaths in limo lake stunt as they randomly reappear on-screen from nowhere ahead of tragedy

Emmerdale fans have predicted two characters’ deaths in the upcoming limo lake stunt as they’ve noticed a ‘worrying sign.’

They’ve picked up on two characters’ sudden reappearance in recent scenes after not being seen in a while.

And now they think that this is all building up to their deaths in the limousine crash happening next week…

    Limo crash in Emmerdale
Lives will be put in major danger (Credit: ITV)

    Emmerdale: Upcoming limo lake stunt

Next week, the lives of many Emmerdale villagers will be put at risk as not one but two limousine crashes occur in the Dales (what are the odds?!)

Well, it all happens thanks to Liam and Kerry hosting a boys’ and girls’ night out in separate limos. But, with no drivers (already setting them up for failure), Charity and Caleb decide to become the chauffeurs for the evening.

In the girls’ limo, Charity swerves the vehicle which ends up leading to a crash.

Elsewhere, Caleb also ends up crashing the boys’ limo in a separate incident. This happens as his anger towards his brother Cain grows.

One of these limos (and we still have no idea which one) ends up crashing into a frozen lake… And, we all know how dangerous that could be.

With lives of villagers on the line… we’re expecting at least a death or two. Forget the Hotten Bypass Crash, this ice stunt looks set to be next level.

Emmerdale's Leyla, Suzy and Belle talking at Take a Vow
Are there signs right in front of us? (Credit: ITV)

Fans fear for Leyla and Suzy’s life after spotting ‘clue’ they’ll die

In recent scenes, both Leyla and Suzy have randomly re-appeared and pushed themselves into the spotlight once more after not being seen in ages.

At the moment, a lot of focus has been put on Leyla’s loneliness, also seeing her interact with Suzy at Take A Vow. With both characters suddenly being given some attention just before next week’s limo lake stunt (which sees them both in one of the limos that crash), fans fear that this is all leading up to their deaths.

One fan commented: “I loved how Leyla basically plotted her own potential death in deciding on the limo night out in tonight’s Emmerdale – and it’s the most we have seen of Leyla in a long time. I think she’s likely getting killed off. I feel the same with how frequent Suzy is in episodes too.”

Another fan wondered: “Belle returns to screen in odd scenes with Leyla & Suzy. It’s being painted that Leyla is lonely & Jacob working long hours & spending all his free time with Sarah. Setting up her exit, I assume.”

A third fan added: “One little detail I noticed in tonight’s Emmerdale – the fact that Leyla wanted to go out to celebrate Belle going back to work but everyone was busy. Making Leyla lonely before she gets killed off is devastating. I have a feeling she’ll die in the limo crash next week.”

April to be arrested for abandoning stillborn, new Emmerdale fan theory suggests

A new Emmerdale fan theory has emerged, with viewers fearing that the police may arrest April Windsor for abandoning her stillborn child. This week’s episodes revealed that April had fallen pregnant prior to her disappearance – and the baby, tragically didn’t survive.

Suffering a stillbirth as she went into labour in a Leeds gym toilet, April stumbled back onto the streets, where she passed out on a nearby park bench. In last night’s episode (Wednesday, February 5), April reunited with her parents, who learned about her pregnancy and stillbirth.

Marlon and Rhona were shocked to discover that April had been pregnant – and now faced severe complications from the pregnancy. However, he was determined to be calm and understanding in the face of his daughter’s pain and trauma.

As the devastated dad sat at his daughter’s bedside, it was clear that her pain is far from over. However, one fan has feared that April might have even worse in store.

Police to arrest April for abandoning stillborn baby, Emmerdale fan fears

Writing as the episode aired, fans shared their reaction to April’s reunion with her father. And one fan worried that she might face legal backlash for her actions.

“So glad April is found safe but there’s gotta be an issue. Once Marlon and Rhona will take April back home the police may not let them bring her home yet as they may end up arresting her and charge April for abandoning the stillborn,” wrote one viewer on Instagram.

“If that ends up happening they won’t arrest her for a long time. Maybe a few months,” another pointed out.

“Of course they won’t,” said a third, less diplomatically.

This particular outcome seems unlikely, but it’s clear that April has a long road to recovery ahead.
