Wendy Posner’s deep history of lies and deceit explored as her world begins to unravel

Wendy Posner has a not so innocent past that is built upon lies, corruption and deceit in Emmerdale. And now, she’s facing fresh drama. Surprise, surprise. With all of the skeletons in Wendy’s closet, we thought Wendy would have more sympathy for the other villagers wanting their secrets to stay buried. But, judging by her betrayal of Rhona to the Hotten Courier, we think not.

With her ‘colourful past’ being dragged back up, we’ve taken a look at exactly what makes her son dodgy.

Wendy Posner in Emmerdale: Covering for her rapist son Lee

Nurse Wendy arrived in the village in 2019 after Victoria fell pregnant with her rapist – Lee Posner’s – baby. Wendy failed to believe that Lee had done anything wrong, desperate to be a part of her grandchild’s life.

Victoria’s brother Robert Sugden ending up attacking Lee for his sexual assault on Victoria and ultimately ended up killing him.

Wendy then ended up moving into the village in 2020 after Lee’s death, vowing to make Victoria pay. However, she later confessed after little Harry’s birth (better late than never?) that she knew that Lee had raped Victoria all along.

Despite the nightmare Wendy put her through, Victoria was able to forgive her (most likely due to the fact she was now dating her other son, Luke.) And now, Wendy, Victoria and Harry all get on as it stands.

    Emmerdale: Fake nurse Wendy

Wendy has been referenced by fans as ‘Fake Nurse Wendy’ for a long time and it’s because we’ve never been sure whether she actually got her nursing qualifications or not.

We’ve known for some time that Wendy had initially lied about getting her qualifications to bag herself a job, but it now seems that she never did right this wrong. Rookie error, no?

The journalist tonight brought up the fact that Wendy had failed to disclose criminal convictions meaning that her qualification doesn’t actually legally mean anything. It’s unclear what her previous criminal past involves… But, nothing would surprise us when it comes to Wendy.

    Difficult history with Russ

Wendy’s ex-husband, Russ, arrived in the village in 2021 and wanted to claim back what he thought was rightfully his.

Wendy’s doesn’t half pick them, doesn’t she? Because, it turned out that Russ was a wrongun. Finding out that his late mother had left Harry £50,000 inheritance, Russ arrived to take it back for himself.

He actually went as far as holding Wendy, David and Victoria hostage in The Hide at gunpoint, but fortunately they escaped and lived to tell the tale.

    Affair with Liam

Icky. That’s the word we’d use to describe Wendy’s affair with Dr Liam Cavanagh. One of the worst pairings in soap history.

Wendy cheated on partner Bob in 2023 (poor Bob) after she started bonding with her colleague Liam over a murder mystery novel. They then started dressing up as murder mystery characters which turned into a rather weird bit of role play.

Once everything eventually came out in the open, the pair called it a day. And, this was the best decision they could’ve made – for our sake.

Dishing the dirt out on Rhona

In a new storyline for Wendy, she has now been revealed to have exposed Rhona’s past history to a journalist from the Hotten Courier.

And, she’s now being blackmailed for more information in exchange for the journalist keeping quiet about her own past history. But, as Wendy’s world unravels, how far will she go to protect herself? And, will Rhona be the only person who she throws under the bus? We think not.

  • ‘More please’ beg Emmerdale fans as Joe and Ross face off in the bedroom

‘More please’ beg Emmerdale fans as Joe and Ross face off in the bedroom

With Ross and Joe both being back in Emmerdale, fans have begged for more face offs between the pair.

Ross Barton arrived back in the Dales in October as he was revealed to be Billy’s opponent in an illegal boxing match. Meanwhile, Joe Tate rocked up on Christmas Eve as part of Will and Peter’s plot to bring down Kim.

During their previous stints in the village, the two men had a few run ins. Fans are delighted that this history is being revisited and are eager to see more of it.

    Ross v Joe in Emmerdale

In Monday’s episode, Ross attempted to intimidate Joe in a bid to get him to stay away from Noah.

During their previous stints in the Dales, Ross was the victim of an acid attack that was meant for Joe. Something that Ross is often keen to remind Joe of.

The face off in Monday’s episode saw Ross lie in wait in Joe’s bedroom at Home Farm. When Joe threatened to report Ross for trespassing, Ross was quick to respond: “See if you can dial 999 before I smash your teeth in.”

Ross then called Joe a “smug little coward” and accused him of living his best life while he has had to deal with surgery and skin grafts following the attack.

After Joe sarcastically responded, “I’m glad it all worked out for you,” Ross grabbed Joe’s shirt and warned Joe to stay away from Noah like Charity had instructed.

Joe insisted he didn’t take orders from Ross. But Ross was quick to go back to Joe’s teeth as he told him: “You do now. Unless you wanna spend the rest of your evening picking your teeth up off the floor.”

Ross of course got the last word as he told Joe that Noah was a Dingle, not a Tate.

    Fans call for more battles

Viewers loved the bedroom scene between Ross and Joe and have called for more interactions between the pair.

Underneath a picture of Joe and Ross on the official Emmerdale X account, fans made their feelings clear, with one writing: “More of this please,” accompanied by the praying hands emoji. A second fan added: “Absolutely love that these two are back.”

Over on Instagram, fans also couldn’t get enough of Ross v Joe, with a third fan calling it a “Clash of the titans”.

A fourth fan said: “Loved that,” while many others tried to pick their team. “Team Ross always,” said a fifth fan alongside heart emojis. Another fan responded that they were “Team Joe” and wanted Ross to stop blaming Joe for the acid attack.

With the shared history between the pair and strong personalities, viewers are likely to get their wish for more, and we can’t wait!

Sick Joe wants Noah’s kidney, Emmerdale fans predict

Since arriving back in Emmerdale on Christmas Eve, Joe Tate has been struggling with his health. Now fans have predicted that he is after half-brother Noah Dingle’s kidney.

Joe returned to the Dales over Christmas as part of Will and Peter’s plot to bring Kim Tate down. However things took an unusual turn when Joe started being nice to Kim and she invited him to live at Home Farm.

Joe has since been seen taking tablets and struggling to breathe, and now viewers believe they have worked out why Joe is back and what he wants.

What’s wrong with Joe Tate in Emmerdale?

Joe Tate arrived back in Emmerdale over Christmas following six years away. At first it seemed he was the same scheming person as before and was back to seek revenge on former step-mum Kim.

However, he has since made amends with Kim and made himself at home at Home Farm. But fans are concerned that there is something wrong with Joe, with some even speculating that he returned to the village to die.

Upon his return, Joe was seen in a room looking unwell. He appeared to be in pain and was shown rummaging through his bag before removing a packet of pills.

Since then, there have been moments where Joe has appeared to be struggling and he also asked Kim and Dawn for painkillers for a really bad headache.

Joe wants Noah’s kidney, fans predict

Recent scenes have seen Joe try to build bridges with half-brother Noah. Noah was angry at Joe for previously making him believe he was dead. But Joe has been trying to get back into Noah’s good books by offering him football tickets.

Fans believe Joe is after something, though, with one writing on X: “Watch it Noah. He’s after a kidney. Or bone marrow.”

A second fan wrote: “Can only think Joe has a vested interest in reconnecting with Noah, as he’s in need of a transplant and he was looking for likely items that may carry Noah’s DNA to check if he’s a match.”

Over on Instagram, a third fan agreed, writing: “Think Joe does have a kidney problem and is looking for a donor (Noah). He was seen holding his side in the beginning of the episode tonight.”

“I think he definitely needs a donor for some health issue and Noah is his only option,” said a fourth viewer, with another adding: “Yeah, Joe is trying to bribe him.”

  • 9 suspects in upcoming ‘Who Killed Anthony?’ storyline revealed

9 suspects in upcoming ‘Who Killed Anthony?’ storyline revealed

Emmerdale spoilers for next week have revealed that Anthony Fox is murdered as part of a whodunnit storyline, but who are the suspects?

Since arriving in Emmerdale in November, Anthony has turned his daughter Ruby Fox-Miligan‘s life upside down. Ruby had previously been estranged from her parents, but her father’s arrival in the village forced her to confront the past and Anthony’s vile behaviour.

However, as news of Anthony’s abusive past travels round the Dales, the list of villagers who want him dead grows ever longer. Here, we take a look at the potential suspects.

Could Ruby be the guilty one? (Credit: ITV)

    1. Ruby Fox-Miligan

Ruby has more reason than most to want her evil dad dead after he sexually abused her as a teenager.

Since Anthony turned up in the village last year, Ruby has attempted to play happy families for the sake of her daughter Steph. But does Ruby reach breaking point?

Anthony is also in the know about Ruby’s fling with Cain. Will Anthony attempt to blackmail Ruby, causing her to hit out at him?

Caleb finds the DNA test results (Credit: ITV)

    2. Caleb Miligan

Ruby recently sent off a DNA test to determine if her abuser father or husband Caleb is Steph’s father. Upcoming scenes reveal that Caleb discovers the results.

Once Caleb knows the truth, he has plenty of motive for wanting his father-in-law dead.

Next week, spoilers reveal that Caleb approaches Anthony in his car, and demands that he get in. A gun shot is later heard, but is Caleb responsible?

Does Steph kill Anthony? (Credit: ITV)

    3. Does Steph Miligan kill Anthony in Emmerdale?

With Anthony potentially being Steph’s dad, rather than grandad, it’s understandable that Steph could be confused and angry.

Spoilers for next week reveal Steph is surprised when her grandfather fails to meet her as planned and she asks around after him. But could that all be an act?

Some fans certainly think so, with one writing on Facebook: “I think it will be Steph who kills him, when she realises what he did to her mum and the horrible reality that he could potentially be her father and not her grandad.”

    Nicola confronts Anthony (Credit: ITV)

    4. Nicola King

Upcoming scenes see Nicola leave her daughter Angelica alone with Anthony for a tutoring session. Chas soon lets Nicola know about Anthony’s past, causing Nicola to run home.

Nicola tells Anthony that she has heard he is a danger to children and he quickly turns physically threatening. She is rescued from the situation, but does she later go back for more?

Later on in the week, she raises further suspicion when she visits the hospital to see if Anthony has been admitted. Does she have a guilty conscience?

Anthony has been tutoring Angel (Credit: ITV)

    5. Angelica King

If Anthony targets Angelica as he next victim, could she fight back in self defence?

Last year, Angelica inadvertently killed her friend Heath Hope when she crashed the car they were travelling in, so this wouldn’t be her first rodeo so to speak.

Fans are also suspicious of Angelica, with one writing on Facebook: “I wonder if he tries something with Angelica and she kills him.” While another fan said: “Maybe he tries again with Angel and she hits him with something???”

    Laurel hits Anthony (Credit: ITV)

    6. Laurel Thomas hits Anthony in Emmerdale

Like Nicola, Laurel also hires Anthony as a tutor and asks him to help with Arthur.

Spoilers for next week reveal Laurel also has ample opportunity. Firstly it appears that Anthony is sleeping on Laurel’s sofa. Later, she rescues Nicola from a dangerous situation by hitting Anthony over the head with a candlestick.

However, as we know a gunshot is later heard, it’s unlikely that it’s this attack that kills Anthony. But Laurel is a suspect never-the-less.

Could Chas kill Anthony? (Credit: ITV)

    7. Chas Dingle

Chas was one of the first people Ruby confided in about Steph’s potential paternity. She soon learns the whole truth and is instrumental in spreading the news around the village.

Could Anthony seek revenge on Chas for turning others in the village against him, leading to Chas to hit out in self-defence?

Given her own son Aaron was abused by his father, the situation could stir up memories and cause Chas to lash out at Anthony.

Sometimes Aaron is moody, other times he's only a little bit moody (Credit: ITV)
Aaron finds himself involved (Credit: ITV)

    8. Aaron Dingle

Speaking of Aaron Dingle. Similar to his mum, memories could be stirred up causing him to take his anger out on Anthony. Aaron is no stranger to violence, after all.

Spoilers for next week show that Aaron is unnerved when he overhears a conversation between Anthony and Ruby, when they don’t believe anyone is listening. What does he discover?

Aaron can relate to Ruby, so could he attack Anthony in her honour?

Does Cain have something to hide? (Credit: ITV)

    9. Cain Dingle

Cain is also no stranger to violence, with one fan writing on Facebook that “this has Cain’s name written all over it”.

Next week, Cain is concerned when he sees his sister Chas upset. She shares the news about Anthony, leaving Cain ashen.

Family is important to Cain, so could he kill Anthony out of loyalty to his brother and sister-in-law. While at the same time, it would protect his and Ruby’s secret.

  • As April is sighted in Emmerdale 5 theories over who she was running away from

As April is sighted in Emmerdale 5 theories over who she was running away from

During Monday’s episode of Emmerdale, Marlon and Rhona were shown CCTV footage of April running along a street. But who was the teen running from?

April went missing over Christmas and was later shown getting into a mysterious car. Until now, there had been no sighting of April, with Marlon even starting to contemplate that his daughter could be dead.

However, the family liaison officer brought good news this week and showed Marlon footage of April running down a street in Leeds. Although the footage confirms April is alive, it’s not clear why she is running. Here are all the theories on who April could be running from in Emmerdale.

    1. April is running from a shopkeeper in Emmerdale

One eagle-eyed fan wrote on Instagram: “April had a brown paper bag in her left hand when she was running on the cctv, she could have stolen it from the shop. That could be why she’s running.”

Another fan agreed, writing: “I thought maybe she was running cause she just shoplifted or something, it looked like she had something in her hand.”

Earlier this month, April’s purse was found on a stab victim, though there was no sign of April herself. But if April is living on the streets and is now without any money, it makes sense that she might have to steal to feed herself.

    2. Billy is involved

During Monday’s episode (January 13), Billy Fletcher mentioned that he had been in Leeds putting up flyers. Some fans suspect this is a clue and have accused Billy of being the one April is running from.

“I think Billy has something to do with it because he said he’d been around Leeds Central and she was filmed in Leeds Central and looks like she was running away from something or someone, just a thought,” wrote a fan on Instagram.

Billy was also involved with illegal boxing alongside Ross – a storyline that culminated in April being kidnapped by Jade last year.

    3. April is running from Ross in Emmerdale

Spoilers for Tuesday’s episode of Emmerdale reveal that Marlon heads to Leeds to look for his daughter. When he sees a girl who looks like April from a distance, he heads towards her.

However, Marlon is shocked when he comes face-to-face with Ross Barton. What is he doing there and does he have anything to do with April’s disappearance?

Viewers will also remember that Ross was the one who told April the truth about her mum Donna Windsor’s death, which caused April to spiral before she disappeared. Could Ross have tracked April down and be trying to bring her home?

    4. Anthony is involved

Given Anthony’s history of abuse with his own daughter Ruby, it makes sense that Anthony will be an immediate suspect.

Despite the news that Anthony will be killed off in scenes next week, some viewers are still convinced that he has taken April.

“I can’t get rid of the feeling that Ruby’s flesh crawling dad is behind this,” wrote a viewer on X, while another fan said: “I am convinced that she’s been kidnapped by someone from the Village,” before suggesting that that person could be Anthony and April has managed to escape.

    5. Kelly and Scott Windsor

Other viewers think that if April wanted to get away from the village, she would track down family, so have suggested she could be staying with her aunt Kelly or uncle Scott.

“Have Kelly and Scott been mentioned?” asked one viewer on Instagram. While another fan speculated that she could be running from one of them after they suggested she go home.

Emmerdale fans divided over Anthony Fox’s upcoming murder twist as they beg for justice

Emmerdale spoilers for next week reveal Anthony Fox is murdered. While some viewers are happy about this news, others believe he should be jailed for his crime.

Anthony arrived in Emmerdale in November 2024, turning daughter Ruby Fox-Miligan’s life upside down. In an emotional flashback episode, it was revealed that Anthony had sexually abused Ruby when she was a teenager.

Recent scenes have seen Ruby send off a DNA test in order to determine whether her dad or husband Caleb is the father of her daughter Steph.

Next week, a flashforward episode will show Anthony lying dead – a development that has divided fans.

    Fans divided over Anthony’s demise

Upon details of this storyline being released, fans flocked to social media to have their say on Anthony Fox‘s murder.

“He should have had the law deal with him, This is the easy way out but if murdered someone else gets punished for a crime. Pity Ruby didn’t report to police and let him suffer the wrath of the prison services,” wrote one viewer on Facebook.
A second fan added: “[Bleep] so pain free from his cancer, easy road out. Rather him in jail suffering and dealing with the shame.” A third fan agreed, writing: “I don’t want him murdered, I want him imprisoned for his evil past!”
A fourth fan said: “He should have had the law deal with him. This is the easy way out but if murdered someone else gets punished for a crime.”
However, other fans are happy to see the back of him. “Good, he’s awful,” a fifth fan simply responded. While another said: “Glad we don’t have another drawn out story, glad he’s gone.”
A seventh fan added: “Yes, yes, yes. Won’t have to see his creepy face or evil voice again. Hope it’s Caleb, but I think it might be Cain,” with another fan writing: “Good riddance.”
