Viewers believe John is definitely ‘lying’ about Aidan Moore after he opens up to Aaron – so just what is he hiding?

In last night’s episode of Emmerdale (Tuesday, December 17),  John opened up to Aaron about his past with the mysterious Aidan Moore. But the conversation has left viewers more convinced than ever that he is lying.

When John first arrived on our screens earlier this year, fans were quick to assume he was hiding something. That’s when we were treated to the mystery of the dog tag with the name Aidan Moore.

John explained that away as someone he cared about who died in Afghanistan as he couldn’t save him. But is he being honest?

For months fans have been deeming John as the ‘fake Sugden’ as they believe there is a bigger secret at play. But exactly what that is remains unknown.

Fans still believe John is lying in Emmerdale

While many fans have criticised the show for appearing to try and copy Aaron’s relationship with Robert, some others feel this may be a hint at John’s true plans.

There are many theories out there; Robert somehow wronged John and so he is taking revenge against those he loved, or maybe John actually is Aidan Moore. Either way, there has to be more than we know. Right?

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) after last night’s episode, viewers all could agree on one thing; John is hiding a big secret.

One wrote: “You could reveal John was a serial killer and I would believe it. It’s got to be one of two things with him. Either the writers worry they won’t find a better pairing than Aaron and Robert so they’re trying to write him as the ‘perfect guy,’ or it’s intentional and he is a threat.”

Another added: “So we’re all in agreement that John has stolen Victoria’s identity and isn’t actually him, right?”

A third penned: “I don’t trust John at all. Sorry. He’s lying and I get pure bad vibes from him.”

Could it lead to a happy return?

However, one fan hoped that whatever his secret is, it will lead to the reunion we all want – Robert back in the village.

They wrote: “There is something off about John. I don’t trust him at all. And now I’m worried about Aaron because he lets his guard down too easily. I just hope the whole storyline is leading to a return for Robert.”

So could John or Aidan have served time with Robert inside? It would have given him the access to all of those he cares about most in the village. So far, it’s definitely a strong contender.

And a Robert return is definitely what we all would like to see. If Emmerdale bosses can bring back Ross Barton this year, why can’t they do the same for Robert?

So, is John being honest? Or is there more to come out about the new Sugden?

  • Belle’s falling for Tom’s lies again – and fans had higher hopes for her

Belle’s falling for Tom’s lies again – and fans had higher hopes for her

In last night’s episode of Emmerdale (Tuesday, December 17), Belle seemed to yet again be falling for Tom’s lies. And viewers thought she was through with that.

Belle has been living through a horrific ordeal over the last lot of months, as her relationship with Tom got progressively more and more abusive.

But now, it’s time for Tom to stand trial which means we are so close to him leaving our screens. So, when Belle started to fall for his lies and manipulation again this week, viewers were confused and annoyed.

Will the back and forth ever end?

Belle starts to believe Tom’s lies in Emmerdale

It’s a hugely important week in the Belle and Tom storyline, as the evil man finally faces trial for his actions.

But to him, that just means he has to put on a wonderful performance. And so far, he has. Earlier this week, he faked a suicide attempt to mess with Belle’s head, and it has worked.

Last night saw Belle question if she could really go through with testifying against him, as she was adamant she wouldn’t cope if she was responsible for his death.

Despite the Dingles trying to convince her she is not to blame for any of it, and that Tom was faking the whole thing, Belle remained unconvinced.

After all the lies he has told her, many viewers are questioning exactly why Belle would believe a word he says at this point.

Fans call for the back and forth between Belle and Tom to stop (Credit: ITV)

Viewers want the storyline to end

Many took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their thoughts on Belle’s concerns.

One wrote: “Belle is bugging me now. She knows what he is like. And he has tricked her into staying by faking a suicide attempt. Just go to court!”

Another added: “People, including me, are getting really annoyed with Belle. She is supposed to be the victim who we all feel for and support. But Emmerdale have managed to turn her into one of the most tedious and frustrating characters in the show.”

A third penned: “The back and forth between Belle and Tom is nauseating. It’s losing its meaning as it has dragged on for way too long.”

“Why are they insistent on making Belle look like a gullible idiot?,” one queried.

Emmerdale bosses have promised the storyline is coming to an end, so as we wait and see how this week goes, we hope Belle turns up to court and puts Tom in his place.

  • Remember Nate? Emmerdale fans still convinced he met grisly end in barn fire months later

Remember Nate? Emmerdale fans still convinced he met grisly end in barn fire months later

It’s already been a few months since Nate Robinson’s Emmerdale exit. But even so, some can’t help but feel his ending was different to what we think.

Nate had an off-screen Emmerdale exit, which was considered very strange to viewers, since he was a huge part of the show since 2019.

What was even stranger though, was that it was during a very eventful week in Emmerdale. So it could have been very easy to get him involved in the drama.

At the time, it was said that Nate left his life in the village behind for a new job in Shetland. But fans never actually saw him leave.

During the big week, Moira set fire to the barn with her and Ruby in it. Cain, Mack and Caleb all rushed in to help the women, but was Nate inside?

It was a popular theory at the time, and three months later fans are still convinced he is dead.

    Nate's last scene Emmerdale
Fans think something is off with Nate’s Emmerdale exit (Credit: ITV)

    Could Nate be dead?

Speaking on a Reddit thread fans pointed out that Nate’s death is still a very likely future plot.

One wrote: “I know the show says Nate went off just fine, but I think he might be dead and it will be a twist reveal.”

As for their evidence to back their claim up, there was actually quite a bit.

They continued: “Tracy said something about Nate not responding to her. And Cain said that he had messaged him about Zak’s funeral but no reply.

“While that’s only two things, in soaps that means foreshadowing something bad that has happened. Also Natalie J Robb said there would be a death in the fire, and there never was.

“Whether he was deliberately killed or perished due to the fire, I don’t know. But I doubt he is still alive.”

Nate and Frankie's last scene together

Many fans agree with the theory

Despite being an extreme theory, it seems it is one that many others share.

A fan agreed: “I keep wondering about this too. I think he died from the fire. But then why hasn’t his body been found? Either way, I don’t think he is alive.”

However one fan pointed out a plot hole in the death theory. Tracy had once contacted him, but only by text.

They penned: “I thought Tracy said he messaged her when he got to Shetland and asked for her to never contact him again?”

While this would be a sign he is alive, other fans seem to think it’s even more proof that he is not.

“Yeah she did. However he has a little girl he doted on. You would think he would at least send something for Christmas. Or make contact for her,” one responded.

Another viewer agreed: “Maybe that means he was killed and someone has text from his phone. Him not wanting to be contacted ever again seems very out of character.”

    Nate's final scene with Cain

Nate’s final few days before Emmerdale exit

While Nate not wanting to be contacted is strange, he didn’t have the best final days in the village.

His dad, Cain, and love interest Tracy both wrongly believed he had kissed his step-mother Moira, sparking fears they had restarted their affair. But in reality, she was having a seizure.

After a fight with Cain, Tracy told Nate that she and Frankie would no longer be joining him in Shetland.

And so, Nate left the village alone – and offscreen.

Actor Jurell Carter has just landed a new role as he heads out on tour next year in James Graham’s play Boys from the Blackstuff.

So with no sign of a return, could Nate’s death be a future shocking Emmerdale reveal?

    1. Belle vanishes

It’s been an eventful few months for Belle, and it seems Tom is still able to manipulate her. Still unsure if his suicide attempt was fake, Belle continues to spiral, adamant she can’t have his death on her conscience.

But now more than ever it’s important for her to stand up against Tom as it’s time for her to take the stand.

However, tonight she leaves the Dingles a mysterious note and slips out of the house when nobody is around.

When they realise she’s missing, her family race to find her. But the prosecution barrier warns them that without Belle there, they may struggle to get a guilty verdict.

With the Dingles desperate to track Belle down, where has she gone? And will she make it back in time?

    2. Tom prepares to put on a show

Alone in his prison cell, Tom practices how he will be on the stand, making sure he will get it right.

And when Ollie tells him that Belle hasn’t arrived, Tom’s ego is boosted some more.

Realising that his plan to get her to spiral has worked, Tom is evidently very proud of himself.

So, as the jury gathers for the beginning of the trial, Tom prepares to take centre stage for his biggest performance yet.

Will it be enough? Or will Belle realise it was all another manipulation?

Emmerdale spoilers tonight 3. Will’s plan is thwarted

Last night’s episode saw Jai evict Dawn and Billy as he needed to move back in. While they were both rightfully annoyed by the sudden urgency, especially before Christmas, Billy’s reaction was too extreme for Dawn.

Luckily for them, Kim had just told Dawn that she, Billy and the kids were more than welcome to move back to Home Farm. Initially, they were going to say no, because Billy believed it was cursed. But now, it seemed like the perfect plan.

However, Billy still said no, despite having no other option. And he even told Dawn to go with the kids without him..

Tonight, Dawn does just that. She arrives at Home Farm with all of her belongings, which obviously terrifies Will.

His plan to take down Kim with Peter and a mystery man would be disrupted if Dawn and the kids were there. So, he does his best to persuade her that it’s a bad idea.

But will it work? Or will Dawn be around for Home Farm taking centre stage on Christmas Day?

    4. Aaron and John grow closer

This week, Aaron and John have been on a spontaneous camping trip. While he initially led Aaron to believe it was for him, last night saw John confess it was actually something he needed to do for himself.

He finally opened up to Aaron about the dog tag with the name Aidan Moore on it. Revealing he was someone John once loved, Aaron tried to be there for his new boyfriend.

Tonight, after both opening up, the couple confess that they are actually in love with each other. And while that should be cute to watch, something still feels off.

However, many viewers are still convinced John is lying about something. Is he out for revenge for some reason? Is he actually Aidan Moore? Something just doesn’t feel right about him…

Denise Welch praises Tom and Belle story as she joins Emmerdale

Tom King faces justice as he stands trial for assault and controlling or coercive behaviour in today’s episode of Emmerdale and Denise Welch joins the cast.

A nervous but determined Belle takes the stand to give evidence about what Tom has put her through.

Meanwhile, Tom is cocky and eager to take his chance to stick the knife into his wife.

    Jury service

But it’s the jury who take centre stage in the episode as they wrestle with the truth about what happened.

Former Bad Girls star John Ellis, Corrie and Casualty star Charles Dale, and Loose Women presenter and Coronation Street icon Denise Welch all star in the episode as members of the jury.

Denise Welch plays Heidi, a juror convinced of Tom’s guilt from the start, while Charles Dale takes on the role of Karl who’s definitely on Team Tom – at least to begin with.

Kenneth, played by John Ellis, is on the fence as the jury begin to consider their verdict.

Denise Welch joins Emmerdale: ‘An honour to be a part of it’

Former Corrie star Denise said she enjoyed being part of such an “important” episode.

“I’ve been gripped by the Belle and Tom storyline so to play a head juror in the story’s culmination was an honour,” she added.

The special episode features stories taken from real-life instances of domestic abuse, with the help of the charity Refuge.

“My character Heidi was more emotionally involved, so I felt that maybe she had experienced some form of domestic abuse herself,” Denise said.

    Campaigning against abuse

The ITV show Loose Women launched a campaign called Facing It Together earlier this year, intending to shine a light on all sorts of abuse including coercive control. “The subject matter is one I’m passionate about,” said Denise.

And she added: “To share the jury scenes with Charlie Dale and Jack Ellis and also to see lots of my Emmerdale mates made it a job to remember.”

But will the jury reach the verdict all the Emmerdale viewers are hoping for? Only time will tell!

  • What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Tom convinced he’s a ‘free man’ and we honestly can’t bear to watch him much longer

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Tom convinced he’s a ‘free man’ and we honestly can’t bear to watch him much longer

In Emmerdale tonight Tom King realised his plot to walk free was working as Belle spiralled at the prospect of him taking his own life. He smugly told his solicitor he was ‘basically a free man’ as Belle questioned whether she could testify. Sigh.

Meanwhile, Aaron and John opened up some more and Billy is a complete idiot who is boring us to tears.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight, Tuesday December 17.

Belle spiralled after Tom’s stunt in Emmerdale tonight

Vinny and Charity were still on their anti-Tom bandwagon, with Charity firmly believing Tom has faked his suicide attempt. But Belle completely believes Tom really did try to take his own life. She feels sorry for him for goodness sakes. She was questioning whether she can stand up and face him in court because she can’t have his death on her conscience.

Belle went to see Paddy who tried to help Belle see this was not her fault. But he also told her he didn’t know whether Tom had meant it or not, he could not offer her the reassurance she needed.

Meanwhile, Charity got herself into Tom’s room and saw he was bright-eyed and bushy tailed. She knew she was right about him faking the whole thing.

Finally Charity got to say what she wanted to. Tom fought back, slimy and manipulative. But Charity told him he wasn’t a victim. However all her harsh words only made Tom realise Belle believed he had done it and she was spiralling. He was smug as Charity stormed out having made a massive mistake.

Tom was smarmy and joyful as he told Ollie he was going to stand trial and now that Belle is out of the equation he’s ‘basically a free man’.

More bad news came for Belle when the judge agreed her past with Gemma can be disclosed in court. Charity tried to tell her she had to testify, but Belle was still convinced his mental health crisis was real.

Seriously, she’s spent so long waiting for justice and now Emmerdale are sending her down this route. He is manipulating her again, and might win again. This storyline is getting exhausting.

John opened up to Aaron in Emmerdale tonight

On the camping trip, Aaron and John woke up full of love, but when Aaron found Aidan Moore’s dog tags, John clammed up and refused to answer the questions.

Aaron wouldn’t let it go though and wanted to know who Aidan is. John wasn’t too keen on opening up, just saying today would have been Aidan’s birthday. There is definitely more to this than meets the eye and it’s about time Emmerdale told us.

John did confess he and Aidan were more than friends and he was the first person he felt anything for. He seemed to open up about everything, but is he being completely honest here?

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

    Billy was an idiot

Billy and Dawn were having bangers and mash for tea tonight, but their excitement was dampened by bad news: Jai gave them a week’s notice on Holdgate. Dawn was grateful they had a back-up plan and could move back into Home Farm, but stubborn Billy refused to budge and won’t go. Get a grip, Billy.

Turned out he still hasn’t got one because before too long he had Jai in a head lock demanding a month’s rent back. Dawn told Billy they were moving back in with Kim and his pigheaded pride saw him tell his wife he wouldn’t be coming with her and his children.

There’s so many infuriating characters in Emmerdale at the moment, but right now Billy is very near the top of that list.

Lisa Riley ‘so angry’ over fake Instagram posts claiming she’s selling diet pills

Emmerdale’s very own Lisa Riley has hit out ‘fake’ brand-deals that claim she is selling and has used diet pills.

For some reason nowadays fame comes with the possibility of your name being used for things that are not true. And this seems to be exactly what happened to Emmerdale star Lisa Riley.

Lisa has played Mandy Dingle on the show since 1995, and made her highly applauded comeback to our screens in 2019.

Mandy’s known for always speaking out when she feels she has been wronged. And that’s something she and Lisa have in common.

Emmerdale Lisa Riley hits out at fake posts

Taking to Instagram yesterday, Lisa posted a screenshot of a fake sponsored Instagram post from a beauty account.

The fake post read: “Lisa Riley released her no-gym pill across the country today and says: ‘It’s the thinnest she’s ever been.’”

Along with the writing, the post contained two photos of Lisa, implying the left was a before and the right was an after.

Lisa wasn’t having her name attached to something that wasn’t true and so she posted the screenshot onto her own account to make her followers aware.

Lisa continued: “I’m surprised anyone ever believes anything anymore! It’s not true. Not me. It’s faker than fake and keeps being FAKE!”

She went on to encourage her followers to “block and report” the post whenever they see it, adding that it makes her “so angry.”

It clearly meant a lot to Emmerdale Lisa as she also shared the post on her story, once again making it clear that it is fake.

One wrote: “Oh Lisa. This makes my blood boil on EVERY level. Love to you!”

Another added: “I honestly don’t understand what people get out of doing this? They’ve clearly got nothing in their life and need something to fill the void. But what is the end result for them? I don’t get it!”

A third praised her: “GREAT to hear this from you. I saw something months ago and just knew you would not endorse it!”

“Omg this is absolutely disgusting! Some people have nothing better to do. Anyone who knows you already knew this isn’t true!” a fourth penned.

Unfortunately it seems the post has gone wide-spread as many were pointing out they had spotted it on a bunch of different social media platforms.

  • Billy and Dawn labelled ‘painfully boring’ as Emmerdale fans slam their storyline route: ‘It’s not even focused on Evan’s health anymore’

Billy and Dawn labelled ‘painfully boring’ as Emmerdale fans slam their storyline route: ‘It’s not even focused on Evan’s health anymore’

Fans have slammed Emmerdale for Billy and Dawn’s storyline taking a different route, and many seem sick of their relationship.

Billy and Dawn used to be a very popular Emmerdale couple. But it seems recently the storylines haven’t managed to keep viewers interested in them.

When they had their baby boy, Evan, things took a sharp turn for the couple. Evan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukeamia at just four months old.

This meant life for Billy, Dawn and their family had to change. Dawn decided to stay at home so that someone was always there to watch their baby. But this ultimately led to money problems for the Fletchers.

What could have been a storyline focused on a family trying to keep their son healthy as a unit, has turned into more lies, illegal activities and just a whole lot of arguing. So it’s no wonder viewers are getting bored of it.

Viewers slam Emmerdale Billy and Dawn

In recent months Billy lied to Dawn and took part in an illegal fight club – which brought back Ross Barton (Yay!). But even after she found out and gave him a way to earn their family more money, he couldn’t let his ego go.

This ultimately led to him and Dawn having yet another big bust up. But the pair always seem to forgive each other in the end.

In last night’s episode (December 16) Kim Tate told Dawn that she, Billy and the kids could all move back into Home Farm. This would definitely help sort out some of their worries. But Billy of course decided it’s not something he wants to do, claiming the big house is cursed.

This didn’t sit well with viewers, as they argue that if they had no other option then surely Billy would do what’s best for his family?

Taking to a Reddit thread, one viewer wrote: “Billy and Dawn are so painfully boring.”

Another agreed, adding: “This storyline has not been about Evan’s illness at all.”

A third momentarily praised the couple: “Billy and Dawn have completed a sentence without slinging [expletive] at one another.”

But a few moments later updated their comment: “Edit – Here comes the argument.”

Fans question why they are still together

More viewers on X (formerly known as Twitter) backed up the Reddit thread, agreeing that the current storyline involving the couple is quite dull.

One wrote: “Is Billy staying with Dawn purely because of Evan? I can’t see another reason for them to be together.”

Another commented: “Billy and Dawn are truly a miserable couple.”

If the pair move back into Home Farm before Christmas then they will be there to witness it take centre stage on the Christmas Day episode. The countdown is well and truly on for viewers to finally find out who Peter’s mystery man is.

Bradley Johnson styles baby son’s hair and shares brilliant video

Emmerdale star Bradley Johnson, who plays Vinny Dingle, has shared another adorable glimpse at his baby.

The star took to his Instagram stories yesterday (Monday, December 16) to showcase a new hairstyle that he had styled for the baby.

Bradley and his fiancée, Sammi Johnstone, announced the birth of their baby boy, Albie Jake Johnson three weeks ago on social media.

Since then the couple have been inundated with congratulatory messages and well wishes from Emmerdale fans, along with many of his co-stars.

In the adorable video, Bradley was cradling his son on his knee, while talking to his phone about the hairstyle he created.

He can be heard saying: “Daddy did Albie’s hair today. Look how cool it is. It really is so cool,” all while laughing.

The hairstyle in question was a very short mohawk. And while it was definitely an adorable hairstyle, Bradley should probably stick to his day job.

Throughout the video, Albie could be seen resting peacefully, obviously not bothered by his new appearance.

Despite being only three weeks old, Bradley regularly gives his followers a look into Albie’s life.

Very recently he took his son on a very special trip to the Emmerdale set with him, to show him around his workplace. How sweet!

    Bradley and Sammi’s adorable relationship

Bradley joined the Dales in January 2019, and since then has remained a fan favourite staple.

He and Sammi began dating in 2021, before getting engaged in October 2023. The star popped the question while they were on a romantic trip to Rome.

Things just kept getting better for the pair, as in June 2024 they announced they were expecting their first child together.

Now, six months later, fans are getting treated to updates on how their baby boy is doing.

And as this is going to be his first Christmas, we’re sure we’ll get a lot more adorable content on the way.
