Emmerdale spoilers: Tom faces the jury and firmly believes he will be set free

In Emmerdale spoilers for next week, the time has finally come for Tom to face the consequences for his actions. But will he get the outcome everyone wants?

Tom has spent months physically and mentally abusing his wife, Belle Dingle. And when he realised he couldn’t manipulate her anymore, he turned his attention to others – Jimmy, Amelia and Angelica.

But with everyone firmly against him now, Tom’s day in court arrives. And in true evil Tom fashion, he is convinced he has gotten away with everything. So as he gets ready to put on the performance of a lifetime, will it be enough?

Read on for full Emmerdale spoilers for this storyline.

Emmerdale spoilers: A smug Tom takes to the stand

At the start of the week, Tom is rushed to hospital after trying to take his own life.

This causes Belle to question if she can even go through with it, and when she goes missing on the day she is supposed to testify – will she inadvertently be the reason he gets away with it?

Charity believes Tom faked his suicide attempt, but when her surprise visit to the hospital ends in Tom knowing Belle is anxious, it seems it only made things worse.

Tom explains to his solicitor, Ollie, that he thinks Belle will refuse to testify as he ended up in hospital.

In his hospital room, Tom practices his best performance for his day in court. But will he be able to manipulate the jury?

The Dingles are horrified to hear from the prosecution barrister that if Belle doesn’t testify, it will be a struggle to convict Tom. But where has she gone? And will she come back in time?

Tom on the other hand is pleased with the way events have unfolded when Ollie fills him in on Belle’s disappearance. So when the jury gathers for the trial to begin, a smug Tom is ready to have all eyes on him.

But exactly what will happen during the trial? Will Belle finally get the justice she deserves in the form of a prison sentence for her husband? Or will Tom’s performance even trick the jury?

Daisy Campbell reveals reality tv career hopes amid soap exit

Emmerdale star Daisy Campbell has revealed what she hopes to do after she leaves the soap this year. Speaking about her upcoming exit, the actor has revealed how she hopes to take part in one of the BBC’s biggest reality TV shows.

It was revealed earlier this year thar Daisy, who plays Amelia Spencer on the soap, has been axed. She will exit the dales in scenes airing over Christmas – following Amelia’s part in Tom’s abusing wife Belle.

Recent scenes saw Amelia learn the truth about boyfriend Tom. This came as she finally realised that he was responsible for the abuse and coercive control of wife Belle.

Until now, Amelia had believed all of Tom’s lies, including his claims that Belle had been the real monster in their relationship.

Amelia sees the truth as Tom is exposed

Tom’s carefully stacked house of cards all came crashing down when the police managed to recover evidence from Tom’s tablet. And this all backed up Belle’s version of events.

As Tom attempted to flee, Amelia realised he hadn’t been entirely honest with her. In the Woolpack, she revealed how he’d fled the country. Thankfully, Belle had other plans – and the police arrested Tom, fake passport in hand.

With Daisy’s exit scenes as Amelia due to air in the coming weeks, she’s already spoken out on what she hopes to do next.

Daisy Campbell reveals plans after Emmerdale exit

Speaking on her plans for the future, Daisy said: “There’s so much I want to do. I really want to do Strictly, like that’s one thing I really want to do next year because I’m a dancer. I’ve always danced. I’ve danced since I was three and I don’t know how to do the Salsa or anything so I think that would be really cool to learn.”

On the possibility of entering the jungle to take part in I’m A Celebrity, Daisy revealed: “I’d really like to do it, I think it’d be fun because obviously you just don’t know how you’d be in there because you just have to really push yourself down to what you’re eating and everything.

“But Strictly’s my one, because I just know that I would really, really enjoy the experience from dancing as a kid and everything.”

Daisy is no stranger to reality TV, having appeared as a panelist on the Big Brother spin-off Late & Live last month.

But will Daisy’s post-Emmerdale dreams come true?

Jacob Gallagher hour long A&E special to air as he’s tested on placement

Emmerdale is set on air an hour long special episode focused on Jacob Gallagher in which he is tested during his work placement.

This special episode of the soap will air in January and will follow Jacob’s first day working in A&E.

These upcoming scenes will show the stresses of working in a high-pressure environment, dealing with life-threatening emergencies. But, will Jacob take it all in his stride?

Emmerdale to air special A&E episode for Jacob

With Jacob currently studying medicine at university whilst also sticking around in the village, he’s about to start his work placement in A&E as the new year comes around.

And, the soap is dedicating a whole hour episode to following him on his journey. This will see him start his first day at the hospital.

This episode will see Jacob’s limits get tested. He’ll be involved in helping save the lives of patients in need.

But, will this all be too much for Jacob to handle? Or, will he come out of this test stronger than before?

Joe Warren-Plant shares thoughts on upcoming Jacob scenes

Actor Joe Warren-Plant has now revealed his thoughts on the upcoming episode, sharing: “When I met with our producer Sophie, she told me about this hour-long episode dedicated to Jacob’s first day of placement in A&E. I was hit with all these emotions.

“Knowing how many people have this high pressure job for real gave me the pressure to really knuckle down and get it right. Tackling this storyline scared me at first, but I feel honoured to know they trusted me enough to tell it. That means such a lot and I feel very honoured.”

Soap producer Sophie Roper also said: “When Jacob first embarked on his aspirations of having a medical degree we knew at some point we wanted to show a day in his life. In this episode we step away from our usual environs of the village and head to the hospital.

“This episode takes place entirely on our purpose built hospital set. Accident and Emergency is a place many of our characters end up in, but seldom by choice.  As the episode unfolds, Jacob will encounter some challenging situations that also affect some of our Emmerdale villagers, pushing Jacob to his limits both professionally and personally.”

But, which villagers may end up in hospital? With Jacob’s mum Leyla’s death being reported, could we see her die whilst Jacob is on placement?

  • From surprise leaving bash to set souvenirs, inside Daisy Campbell’s last days at Emmerdale following axe

From surprise leaving bash to set souvenirs, inside Daisy Campbell’s last days at Emmerdale following axe

For Emmerdale star Daisy Campbell, she shocked fans in October when she revealed she had been axed from the show, after 13 years.

Daisy has played long-standing Amelia Spencer since she was eight years old. Now, at the age of 21, she is leaving the show.

At the time of the announcement Daisy revealed it wasn’t her choice to leave. One day she found herself being called in to a confidential meeting, and was told Amelia’s time in the village would end just before Christmas.

She decided to not tell anyone the news for a while, as she processed it herself. But now that it’s out in the world, she’s looking to the future.

Having been such a huge part of the show for so long, it’s no shock that Daisy found herself being surprised by a party set up by her friends.

So here’s what she had to say about her last days on Emmerdale.

    Daisy Campbell smiling

    Emmerdale Daisy Campbell on leaving

13 years is a long time to be anywhere, so over the years, Daisy had accumulated a lot of memories in the form of souvenirs.

Daisy admitted that she did actually take some away with her. She said: “On our jackets, we have our names on the back. So I took mine because no-one is going to be wearing my name.”

But she didn’t stop there, as she confessed her ‘love’ for Amelia’s clothing meant she ‘took all of Amelia’s jackets.’

For Daisy, she admits Emmerdale ‘is all she has ever known,’ so looking to the future is something that ‘excites’ her.

“I think it’s a perfect age to leave”, she explained. “I’ve got no responsibilities so I can do what I want. I’m really excited to see what comes my way and what opportunities arise.”

In terms of what she would like to do next, Daisy just wants ‘a challenge,’  admitting she wants to see what she will ‘be like on another set.’

When it came to a leaving party, her friends and co-stars Katie and Rosie (Sarah and Gabby) were the brains behind the event.

Daisy Campbell smiling in an ITV interview

    Daisy Campbell’s leaving party

She explained: “They surprised me. I didn’t know where it was so anytime the cast would speak to me about it I was like ‘don’t tell me because I don’t know where it is.’

“It was the day after I finished and wrapped. It was a really lovely night.”

The night involved drinks, dancing and all round good fun. And for the Emmerdale star, she just enjoyed seeing everyone there.

Something which everyone would expect to be a hugely emotional time is filming the final scenes. But by the time it came to the end, Daisy was no longer crying that much.

The filming schedule could be partly the cause of that, as the 21-year-old explained.

“We film in two week blocks, so the first week was really emotional. Mark Jordan (Daz) comes back. It was lovely to see him again.

“On my last week I felt fine. I didn’t really cry that much. I was actually proud of myself.”

But one person who brought the tears out, was Laura Norton (Kerry). Daisy confessed that because Laura is ‘really good at doing emotions,’ she finds, “when she cries I cry.”

Amelia has been part of some huge storylines over the last 13 years. And most recently involved in the Tom and Belle storyline. So when her exit airs, it’s safe to say she will be missed.

  • Daisy Campbell defends naïve Amelia Spencer’s relationship with Tom amid fan backlash for her character

Daisy Campbell defends naïve Amelia Spencer’s relationship with Tom amid fan backlash for her character

Emmerdale star Daisy Campbell has defended ‘naive’ Amelia amid her controversial relationship with village abuser Tom King.

Along with his uncle Jimmy, Amelia has been one of Tom’s few defenders, even as the net closed in on him and his lies.

It all came crashing down for Tom recently (Thursday, November 28), as DS Foy arrested Tom while he tried to flee the country.

Belle had managed to turn the tables on Tom, sneaking her phone into his bag as he gloated and threatened her. She then told the police, who tracked the device and arrested him at the ferry port.

By now, the evidence is overwhelming – and not even Jimmy or Amelia can turn a blind eye anymore.

Daisy Campbell defends Amelia as the police arrest Tom

Star Daisy has revealed her own thoughts on the situation. When asked whether she thinks Amelia would know better, she said: “I think she would. I’ve had a lot of comments off people saying your character’s so annoying at the minute because she’s not seeing Tom for who he is.

“But, I think people forget that it’s a story we’re trying to tell. He’s such a manipulator. He knows what he’s doing, and obviously he’s done it with Belle so he can do it to someone else.

She added: “Because Amelia’s so much younger, she’s only 18, she is very vulnerable.”

Hitting back at fan comments, Daisy said: “It frustrates me because I’m like this is the story. This is how it is. This is real life. But it does frustrate me in some areas because I’m like oh come on Amelia, you’ve got a kid now, he’s older, come on, get the cogs turning because she should know.”

Amelia to leave Emmerdale as the Tom faces justice

The truth is out now – but what’s next for Amelia? Daisy revealed earlier this year that she had been axed from the soap during a meeting with producers.

Amelia is expected to leave at Christmas – as the soap wraps up Tom and Belle’s story for good.

It’s now been revealed that Amelia will leave the village with Daz Spencer in upcoming scenes.

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Ruby in distress over her dad and Ross feared for Moses

Emmerdale tonight saw distressing scenes for Ruby Fox-Miligan as she had a panic attack after being all-but forced to forgive her dad for their past history. So what did happen between them?

Meanwhile, Ross realised Jade’s threats were serious, but he raced to rescue the wrong person, and Bob gave Pollard some advice.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale on Wednesday December 4.

Ruby’s terror over her dad was evident in Emmerdale tonight

Steph tried to get Caleb onside in fighting Anthony’s corner to Ruby. They invited Anthony over and Ruby was not happy at all. But everyone took Anthony’s side and Ruby was forced to agree to a cup of tea. Though she sat in complete silence and looked incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. Especially when they opened the memory box.

Anthony then launched into a speech apologising and blaming her mother for everything. He spoke about how close he and Ruby had been (just how close, eh?). He seemed genuine to everyone around them, but Ruby could not cope with the apology. She did not accept it.

She then agreed to put the past in the past, but her happy cheerful exterior was all an act. She excused herself and had a panic attack outside. It’s very clear Ruby is hiding something huge here – and her animosity towards her dad runs very deep. She almost looked scared of him…

    Ross was desperate for cash

Ross tried to hit Steph up for cash. But he then summoned Mackenzie, Billy, Aaron and John to Aaron’s flat to find out who had stole Jade’s money. Suspicion fell on Billy with Ross sure he must have taken it. But Billy denied it and stormed out.

When they were alone Aaron confronted Mack – he knew he had taken the money. Mack wasn’t exactly doing a good job of hiding his glee over getting away with it so far. Aaron said he’d keep quiet for a cut.

Meanwhile, Jade and her fancy curly hair and clothes, were having coffee at the café. She reminded Ross again he needed to get the cash – and chatted to April just to annoy him.

Ross went to see Charity and told her what was going on. He suggested she take Moses away for a few days. But Charity refused to be driven out of her home.

And it turned out Jade’s attention wasn’t on Moses after all – she was having coffee with April.

Pollard wasn’t budging in Emmerdale tonight

Eric wanted to take Brenda for lunch – but she reminded him they didn’t have any money. He was trying to find any way possible not to have to sell the shop. Although Brenda insisted he had, Pollard was secretly telling any interested parties the shop was not for sale.

Brenda later confided in Bob, but when she all-but confessed she was only staying with Eric because of his Parkinson’s, Bob was horrified.

He went to advise Pollard he needed to sell the shop as it was his only hope of keeping Brenda.

    Angelica fought for Tom

Angelica was impatiently waiting for another call from Tom when Belle arrived. She broke the news to Nicola that Tom has pleaded not guilty.

Angelica spoke to Tom again later, who manipulated her to get Jimmy back on side to testify for him. Tom pretended he didn’t want to get her involved, but really he absolutely wanted did want to involve her and seemed very glad when it worked.

    Bob’s fashion mistake

Bob’s coat is not the one. It looks a bit like it should belong to Wendy rather than him. But he seems happy in it. And maybe it’s really warm for those cold, cold Dales nights.

  • Viewers slam Mack storyline as they ‘can’t wait’ for Ross to ‘wipe the smile off his face’

Viewers slam Mack storyline as they ‘can’t wait’ for Ross to ‘wipe the smile off his face’

Viewers have slammed the current Emmerdale Mack storyline as they admit they “can’t wait” for Ross to “wipe the smile off his face.”

When bad boy Ross Barton arrived back in the village, he did so in true Ross fashion – taking part in an illegal fight club. But when the police arrived and everything went wrong, Mackenzie stole some money. And Ross has been given the blame.

Last night’s episode (December 3) saw Mack taunt Ross, using his relationship with Moses. And when Ross gave him some money to give to his son, Mack quickly made fun of how little there was.

Mack and Ross clash over Moses

He began splashing the stolen cash on Christmas presents for both Charity and Moses, before giving Amy a large sum to get to Reuben. But it seems viewers are on team Ross.

Jade began threatening two people Ross cares most about – April and Moses. So when reality sets in that she means business, Ross knows he has to keep his loved ones safe.

We know April finds herself in danger this week because of Jade’s threats, but will Mackenzie ever speak out and admit it was him? Or will he just enjoy watching everyone blame Ross?

After the episode, fans couldn’t help but express on social media how much they want Ross to come out on top.

Fans react to the current Emmerdale Mack and Ross storyline

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) one wrote: “Can’t wait for Ross to get the better of Mack. Which he will!”

Another added: “Mack is so jealous of Ross. Wish Ross would just wipe the smile off his face.”

“Mack is going to get people hurt! He’s horrible”, a third added.

A fourth penned: “Imagine what’s going to happen when they find out Mack took the money…”

With viewers firmly standing against Mack’s decision’s, surely it’s only a matter of time before the truth comes out. But the question is, will someone get hurt before it does?

  • Ruby ‘for the chopping block’, fans predict, despite loving her storyline

Ruby ‘for the chopping block’, fans predict, despite loving her storyline

In a new fan theory, it seems the Emmerdale cast could be about to get another shakeup as many predict Beth Cordingly’s Ruby may not be around much longer.

Ruby Fox-Miligan came to the village at the beginning of 2024 and it’s safe to say she hasn’t had a quiet time.

Since arriving in the village, Ruby has been at the centre of many storylines. Her time on the show has seen her team up with Kim Tate, make enemies and even included a hit and run.

    Ruby’s current storyline

Most recently she has been at the front of a storyline that saw her daughter and father arrive to the village.

While Ruby was thrilled about Steph’s arrival, it hasn’t been smooth sailing. Steph will only forgive Ruby and Caleb for her upbringing if Ruby forgives Anthony for hers.

This is proving to be a struggle, and while she has given reasons for her feelings towards Anthony, flashbacks will soon reveal the whole truth.

The current storyline puts her in the spotlight, and viewers are enjoying it (except for the part where she slept with Cain).

But according to a new fan theory, she may be the next Emmerdale character that leaves.

Fans predict another change to Emmerdale cast (Credit: ITV)

Fans predict Emmerdale exit for Ruby

The Emmerdale cast seems to be getting smaller very quickly with all of the upcoming exits.

In a new Reddit thread viewers were discussing Ruby’s storyline, and one predicted it will result in Beth Cordingly bowing out of the role.

“I think at this rate she’s for the chopping block sooner rather than later. However I think she’s interesting and better than Caleb,” they wrote.

Despite the new theory, that didn’t stop others from admitting they love her character.

One added: “I absolutely adore Ruby. One of my favourites! Just the right level of mischief, but also deep vulnerability. There is quite a lot about to come out about her past which will add loads more layers.”

Another expressed their concerns for the storyline. They penned: “I love her but they are rushing everything. The Steph arrival with the grandad straight after. They should have unpacked more with Steph first. Then brought Anthony in. Added with the cancer, the flashbacks etc I feel like they should steadily pace it. But it feels rushed.”

However despite everyone agreeing they were enjoying watching her at the minute, one viewer admitted they wouldn’t mind seeing her leave.

They commented: “I would happily see Ruby gone.”

With more secrets about to be revealed to viewers, will Ruby remain in the village?

Emmerdale: Angelica contacts Tom and it leaves fans fuming: ‘I thought this story was over’

In Emmerdale, Tom King has finally been charged for his months of abuse towards his wife, Belle Dingle.

Last week, after he failed at going on the run, DS Foy charged Tom King and refused to let him back out.

This was obviously a highly anticipated moment by all Emmerdale fans, as the storyline has been difficult to watch for many. But just when it seemed justice was about to be served and we could be free of Tom from our screens – Angelica decided to contact him.

Tom had tried to reach out to Jimmy, but after Nicola gave him a talking to, he realised it was a bad idea. And so Jimmy ignored the messages coming from the prison.

Unbeknownst to her parents, Angelica had heard a lot of their conversation, and decided she wanted to talk to her cousin herself.

After putting in her own contact details, she received a call from Tom, who was also surprised. However, he quickly realised he could use his manipulation skills on her, and it wasn’t long before Angelica was believing every word he said.

Viewers were not happy at all with this development as everyone thought it was finally the end of Tom. But of course, things can never be so simple in soap.

Many fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their upset at the storyline.

One wrote: “Angel barely knows Tom. Why is she getting involved?”

Another added: “Oh I thought the Tom storyline was over…”

“Why is Angel even getting involved? Why would she even believe Tom? It doesn’t make any sense”, a third added.

The angry reaction is quite understandable, especially as Emmerdale confirmed Tom’s storyline will be coming to an end this year.

    Emmerdale Tom manipulates Angelica (ITV)

While Angelica and Tom’s new connection may seem out of the blue, it most likely relates to Angel’s own recent feelings about herself.

Not long back from spending time inside for causing the death of Heath, Angelica felt she was evil. And even explained she doesn’t feel anything.

With someone else in her family headed for prison, she could feel Tom is the only one who relates to her.

But will she snap out of it soon? Or will she fall for every lie Tom gives?
