How has no-one noticed how upset Ruby is, fans wonder

Everyone knows she hates him, but fans of Emmerdale have found themselves wondering why no-one seems to have questioned why exactly Ruby is acting the way she is towards her dad. Clearly there’s no love lost between Ruby and estranged father Anthony, but Ruby’s behaviour has been particularly extreme since his return.

Steph has been pushing for a reunion, even springing a surprise family gathering on Ruby on Wednesday. Although Ruby appeared to be warming towards the idea of a reconciliation, outside she suffered a panic attack.

Clearly, there’s something going on there.

Steph disgusted as Ruby brutally rejects her father

The next morning, Caleb found her, clearly quite upset by the day before. She stood firm in her position that she wants nothing to do with Anthony. And later, Steph walked in as she reiterated how she wouldn’t be remotely bothered if he died.

Ruby’s casual vitriol appalled Steph. And her threats of leaving the village had Caleb worried that Ruby’s vitriol might drive their daughter away again.

There’s clearly more to Ruby’s hatred of her dad than meets the eye – but why hasn’t anyone asked what, exactly?

Emmerdale fans frustrated following latest outburst from Ruby

Writing on X as last night’s episode aired, some viewers wondered why no-one had come out and asked what Ruby’s problem actually is. Surely, given her reaction, there must be more than mere bad feeling?

“Why is Caleb ignoring that ruby’s reaction to her dad is way more than just being a bit [CENSORED] off at being kicked out a million years ago. Wouldn’t you just ask… did he do something to you????!” asked one fan.

“You’d think it would cross someone’s mind that Ruby may have been abused, given the level of vitriol she has for her Dad,” pointed out another.

“Doesn’t hearing Ruby talk so harshly about her dad make Steph think that there’s more going/gone on than she knows about? So c’mon Ruby spill the beans!” said a third.

“I mean…it’s got to be obvious that Ruby’s reaction has to be something bigger than just getting kicked out of the house,” another agreed.

    What, exactly, is Anthony hiding?

  • Brenda will ‘go off into the sunset’ with Anthony, new fan theory predicts

Brenda will ‘go off into the sunset’ with Anthony, new fan theory predicts

A new Emmerdale fan theory has predicted that Brenda will leave the village with Anthony now she has split up from Eric Pollard. This follows the events of last night’s episode, in which Brenda ended things with Eric.

Unable to forgive his deception – nor his foolishness – Brenda dumped a heartbroken Pollard. Meanwhile, Anthony considered leaving the village after it became apparent that Ruby has no intention of forgiving him.

One soap viewer has put two and two together to question whether Brenda might meet Anthony at the B&B – and decide to leave the village with her new man.

Emmerdale fan theory predicts Brenda and Anthony to run off together

Writing on X as the scenes aired last night, one fan laid out their theory as to what Brenda might do now she’s a single woman.

“Brenda is going to move into B&B – where she will get close to Anthony and they will both go off into the sunset!! That will be her leaving storyline,” they wrote.

“Totally paving the way for Brenda’s upcoming exit sadly…” said another viewer of Eric and Brenda’s split.

Could Brenda move on to a new man, post-Pollard? Anything is possible, given rumours that actor Lesley Dunlop is set to leave the soap later this year.

    What is Anthony hiding?

Meanwhile, Ruby has continued to resist a reconciliation with dad Anthony. Earlier this week, Steph attempted to force the issue with an impromptu family gathering.

Ruby appeared to let bygones be bygones, but suffered a panic attack outside. The next day, she left Steph appalled after telling Caleb how she couldn’t care less if her dad died.

This has left some fans wondering whether there might be more to the situation than meets the eye – including theories of abuse, long-buried family secrets, and the particularly dark suggestion that Steph may, in fact, be Anthony’s daughter.

  • What happened between Ruby and her dad? From abuse to pregnancy, all the theories over why Ruby is so scared of him

What happened between Ruby and her dad? From abuse to pregnancy, all the theories over why Ruby is so scared of him

A terrible family reunion continued to unfold for Ruby on Emmerdale this week, as the return of estranged dad Anthony Fox continued to play havoc with her emotions.

In last night’s episode (airing Wednesday, December 4), Ruby was ambushed by Anthony and Steph, who were determined to have her hear him out. Ruby was stoic as ever, putting up with this impromptu family gathering, and appearing to hear out her dad’s apologies.

However, as the episode ended, a tearful Ruby fled from the house – pretending that she needed to nip to the shops – her father’s words reverberating in her head. As she suffered a panic attack outside, it became clear that there’s more to their animosity than mere bad blood.

But what really happened between Ruby and her father?

Emmerdale fans predict Anthony abused Ruby

A prevailing theory, and one that Ruby‘s reaction last night would seem to back up – is that Anthony abused his daughter. Many viewers have suggested that this could be the case, writing on social media to shar their theories.

“I think Ruby has been abused by her dad in the past,” wrote one viewer on X.

“I still think ruby been abused by her dad,” said another.

Viewers have predicted a particularly dark twist to Steph’s parentage (Credit: ITV)

    He’s Steph’s father

Taking the dark theory one step further, many have wondered whether Steph could be his daughter.

“Did Ruby’s Dad abuse her? and is Steph her Dad’s child?” asked one fan.

“Ruby dad, is he Steph’s dad too?” asked another.

“My heart is breaking for Ruby right now. She’s got so much going on and I don’t trust her dad at all. Actually think her dad is Steph’s dad too,” wrote a third.

    Abused by her mother

If not Anthony himself, others think that he could have been party to Ruby’s abuse by another – in this case her mum, Helen. Again, this might make sense given Ruby’s reaction to learning that her mother was dying earlier this year.

“I’m starting to think she was abused in one way or another by her Mum, and maybe her Dad knew about it?” suggested one viewer.

Ruby clearly has no love for either parent. But why?

Emmerdale fans predict cover-up between Ruby and Anthony

Recent spoilers have revealed that a flashback will detail exactly what happened between Ruby and her dad. This includes the presence of a lad named ‘Rob’ who might hold the key to Ruby’s trauma.

“My theory is that her parents invited someone to her 16th party to sway her from Caleb. She rejects him and he assaults her? Maybe she told her parents but they covered it up because he’s from a ‘decent’ family or something?” wrote one fan on Reddit.

“I’m guessing Anthony doesn’t know what happened to Ruby, maybe ‘Rob’ abused her after Anthony had set him up with her,” another viewer suggested.

Why do you think Ruby is so frightened of her dad?

  • What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Ruby in distress over her dad and Ross feared for Moses

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Ruby in distress over her dad and Ross feared for Moses

Emmerdale tonight saw distressing scenes for Ruby Fox-Miligan as she had a panic attack after being all-but forced to forgive her dad for their past history. So what did happen between them?

Meanwhile, Ross realised Jade’s threats were serious, but he raced to rescue the wrong person, and Bob gave Pollard some advice.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale on Wednesday December 4.

Ruby’s terror over her dad was evident in Emmerdale tonight

Steph tried to get Caleb onside in fighting Anthony’s corner to Ruby. They invited Anthony over and Ruby was not happy at all. But everyone took Anthony’s side and Ruby was forced to agree to a cup of tea. Though she sat in complete silence and looked incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. Especially when they opened the memory box.

Anthony then launched into a speech apologising and blaming her mother for everything. He spoke about how close he and Ruby had been (just how close, eh?). He seemed genuine to everyone around them, but Ruby could not cope with the apology. She did not accept it.

She then agreed to put the past in the past, but her happy cheerful exterior was all an act. She excused herself and had a panic attack outside. It’s very clear Ruby is hiding something huge here – and her animosity towards her dad runs very deep. She almost looked scared of him…

    Ross was desperate for cash

Ross tried to hit Steph up for cash. But he then summoned Mackenzie, Billy, Aaron and John to Aaron’s flat to find out who had stole Jade’s money. Suspicion fell on Billy with Ross sure he must have taken it. But Billy denied it and stormed out.

When they were alone Aaron confronted Mack – he knew he had taken the money. Mack wasn’t exactly doing a good job of hiding his glee over getting away with it so far. Aaron said he’d keep quiet for a cut.

Meanwhile, Jade and her fancy curly hair and clothes, were having coffee at the café. She reminded Ross again he needed to get the cash – and chatted to April just to annoy him.

Ross went to see Charity and told her what was going on. He suggested she take Moses away for a few days. But Charity refused to be driven out of her home.

And it turned out Jade’s attention wasn’t on Moses after all – she was having coffee with April.

Pollard wasn’t budging in Emmerdale tonight

Eric wanted to take Brenda for lunch – but she reminded him they didn’t have any money. He was trying to find any way possible not to have to sell the shop. Although Brenda insisted he had, Pollard was secretly telling any interested parties the shop was not for sale.

Brenda later confided in Bob, but when she all-but confessed she was only staying with Eric because of his Parkinson’s, Bob was horrified.

He went to advise Pollard he needed to sell the shop as it was his only hope of keeping Brenda.

    Angelica fought for Tom

Angelica was impatiently waiting for another call from Tom when Belle arrived. She broke the news to Nicola that Tom has pleaded not guilty.

Angelica spoke to Tom again later, who manipulated her to get Jimmy back on side to testify for him. Tom pretended he didn’t want to get her involved, but really he absolutely wanted did want to involve her and seemed very glad when it worked.

    Bob’s fashion mistake

Bob’s coat is not the one. It looks a bit like it should belong to Wendy rather than him. But he seems happy in it. And maybe it’s really warm for those cold, cold Dales nights.

  • Emmerdale fan ‘works out’ Steph Miligan’s real father – and it’s not Anthony or Caleb

Emmerdale fan ‘works out’ Steph Miligan’s real father – and it’s not Anthony or Caleb

Lately Ruby Fox-Miligan has been acting strangely in Emmerdale as her daughter Steph and father Anthony come back into her life. Speculation has been rife that Ruby was abused by her dad. But a new Emmerdale theory gives a different contender for Steph’s biological father – and it’s not Caleb or Anthony.

Steph brought Anthony to the village in an attempt at getting him and Ruby to reconcile, but it was very clear from Ruby’s reaction that was going to be harder than anticipated.

Her reaction to him showing up in the village led to other reckless behaviour – sleeping with Cain Dingle.

Ruby struggles to forgive Anthony – is there more to it? (Credit: ITV)

    Emmerdale Ruby’s relationship with Anthony

Ruby explained her reasoning for hating her father. When she was pregnant he tried to force her to get a termination, and then kicked her out of the house.

That alone gives Ruby a good enough reason for wanting him to stay away, but it’s clear Steph isn’t ready to give up.

And with Anthony informing them about his cancer diagnosis, Steph is desperate for her mum to at least consider giving him another chance.

The news also shocks Ruby, as she struggles to know how to process everything. But fans recently guessed there was a more sinister twist waiting to come out about Ruby and her father.

They theorised that Ruby had been abused by Anthony, and that he is Steph’s real dad. However, as new spoilers have been released, many fans are now speculating someone else is Steph’s father – and it’s not Caleb or Anthony.

In an upcoming episode, flashback scenes will explore Emmerdale Ruby’s backstory, and fans will come to get a surprising insight to her life.

The flashbacks feature a 16-year-old Ruby, around a year before Steph was born, getting along with a fellow teenager, Rob. Through the flashbacks fans will learn why she insists she can’t remember that day.

Ruby pretends she doesn’t remember her 16th birthday – but flasbacks reveal the truth (Credit: ITV)

Emmerdale theory suggests Rob is the real dad of Steph as Ruby’s past explored

Now, fans are convinced this new character Rob is actually Steph’s dad. And perhaps there is more to come from the story.

On a Reddit thread, fans theorised: “I originally believed that Anthony had physically abused Ruby when pregnant. If the assault theories are true, I don’t understand why he would risk losing Steph by reuniting with Ruby. And I don’t believe she would keep quiet, knowing he could do the same to her.”

Instead, the fan provided a different and new Emmerdale theory.

“I think now we’re supposed to believe that Rob is the biological father of Steph, but the writers may be having us on because that would be obvious.

“Hopefully they’re not just trying to take the focus off Anthony. And I hope Caleb really is the father. But maybe the Foxes saw Rob as ‘better’ than Caleb. Maybe he was rich and they set him up with Ruby. He may have abused her without her parents knowing.”

The theory helps understand why in Emmerdale Ruby tries to get the attention off her 16th birthday, and also why she hates her father so much.

Whatever the reason is, it’s clear there is much more going on than we currently know.

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Tom still isn’t done scheming and Anthony shared some bad news

Emmerdale tonight saw Tom King vow to keep fighting in his battle against Belle, with him instructing his solicitor to get Amelia back on side.

Meanwhile, Anthony returned and shared some sad news with his family, but Ruby refused to believe a word of it.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale on Friday November 29.

Emmerdale tonight: Amelia did something stupid

No, she hasn’t taken Tom back, thank God… The episode opened with Jimmy attempting to scrub the word “scum” from the front door. While Angelica wondered if it was about her, Nicola was quick to insist that it “was done by someone who hates Tom”. So that narrows it down then…

As Charity and Belle stopped by to say it wasn’t them, Jimmy took the opportunity to apologise to Belle for not seeing through Tom’s lies sooner. Charity said they didn’t blame him. She was soon distracted by Amelia in the distance and followed her to the church.

Sitting in the church, Charity was quick to realise that Amelia had been the one to spray ‘Scum’ on the door. Amelia said she knew it was stupid as Tom is not even there! Amelia just wanted to do something to make herself feel better as she felt so guilty for what she’d put Belle through by believing all of Tom’s lies.

Charity reassured Amelia that none of it was her fault, telling her Tom did a number on her – he saw a young, single mum with no family, someone vulnerable who he could use. Amelia agreed, saying: “He was so lovely at first, then I saw the mean side to him and he was so clever at explaining that away.”

Later, Amelia confessed to Jimmy that she had been behind the graffiti and offered to help clean it off. She also apologised to Belle, who told her she forgave her and that they could all move on.

Tom continued to plot from behind bars

In prison, Tom phoned his solicitor mate Ollie and threatened him to keep representing him. “Maybe the police need to know about you…” he snidely told him. He instructed Ollie to keep trying to get hold of Amelia.

Later, Ollie visited Tom and informed him that Amelia still won’t answer his calls and they haven’t been able to add her to his approved caller list. Tom was adamant that they had to keep trying though, and said: “Amelia is just upset, so capitalise on that. Say that I’m missing her, I don’t care, say anything. I just need her to be sat in that court supporting her innocent boyfriend, preferably with her daughter.” The twisted mind of Tom…

Ollie told Tom that he might get a reduced sentence if he pleads guilty, but Tom said he’d do no such thing and he vowed to keep fighting Belle. “It’s me against Belle – and a jury,” he said. “Think about it. My wife is a complete nut-job and she’s just come out of the loony bin. She’s not going to make a good impression on the jury and we’re going to make sure of it.” What has Tom got over Ollie and how long will Tom keep deluding himself for?

    Anthony shared some bad news

Ruby’s dad Anthony recently arrived to a hostile reception from his daughter. He returned in tonight’s episode and informed granddaughter Steph that he had prostate cancer and didn’t know how much longer he had left.

Steph told him him they’d make the most of every moment, with Anthony agreeing and saying, “now I really must make peace with your mother.”

However, Ruby was not pleased to see her dad back. After Steph revealed all about the prostate cancer, Ruby responded that she didn’t believe a word of it and walked off.

Later, Caleb and Steph tried again to encourage Ruby to clear the air with her dad, but she remained reluctant. What has happened between them that Ruby can’t get over?

Following the engagement party, Brenda confirmed that her and Eric’s wedding will be taking place in January. She revealed that Eric is being super generous – wedding of her dreams followed by a round the world cruise.

Following the revelation that Eric had invested his money in cryptocurrency, Leyla encouraged him to quit while he was ahead. However, later, he phoned “Mikey” and asked for a short term loan, using his property as collateral. Uh oh, this one isn’t going to end well.

Meanwhile, Chas and Ella met up. Chas informed Ella that her and Liam were going to go public with their relationship. Ella was angry as she told Chas that she would miss sneaking around. “It’s what you do best, secret affairs, you love it,” she said. She then went on to say: “You’ve got form as long as your arm, which means you’ll probably get bored of Liam and cheat on him too. I hope he breaks your heart first, if you’ve even got one.” Don’t hold back, Ella…

4 Emmerdale spoilers for tonight: Anthony’s back, Eric’s taking risks and will we see Tom again?

In Emmerdale spoilers for tonight, Anthony is back with some huge news, and Eric continues to make risky decisions.

Recently Emmerdale welcomed two new members into the Fox-Miligan family; Anthony and Steph. Ruby may have wanted her daughter to stick around, but she was more than happy to get her dad to leave the village.

But tonight sees Anthony return, and he brings some huge news.

Also in tonight’s episode, the question remains; will we see Tom again? Last night (November 28) the villain finally got his comeuppance as a smart plot twist saw Belle use her phone tracker to take him down.

Find all of this and more below for Emmerdale spoilers for tonight.

    Emmerdale spoilers 1. Anthony’s back

Despite Ruby telling everyone how much she does not want her father in her life, Anthony returns to the Dales.

But this time, he brings the news of his cancer diagnosis, leaving Steph stunned and devastated.

After assuring him he has her support, Steph hopes the news will help mend the fracture in their family. But when Ruby finds out, is she willing to put the past behind them?

We know her strained relationship with him comes from when he tried to force her to get a termination. And with fans theorising that something more sinister happened in her childhood, is there more to the story?

Even after the engagement party, Eric continues to take risks with his money. (Credit: ITV)

    2. Eric continues to take risks

Last night viewers discovered just exactly why Eric suddenly has no issues with spending huge amounts of money.

As he surprised Brenda with tickets for a honeymoon cruise, many of those closest to him began to get suspicious – not Brenda, she just wanted to know if Jane McDonald would be there.

After revealing to Leyla that he has invested all of his savings into cryptocurrency, it looks like his risks are just set to continue.

Leyla tried to warn him it may be a scam, but Eric being Eric wasn’t having any of it, and was adamant it will eventually result in a big pay-out.

But as his risks continue, will Eric ever tell Brenda?

Emmerdale spoilers 3. Chas remains determined

The truth came out to Ella last night about Chas and Liam’s relationship. Even though the couple had decided it was time to tell them, Ella’s stalking skills meant she managed to work it out first.

So now, Chas and Liam don’t have to hide their relationship, which should be a positive thing for them.

But with Ella’s history and fan theories suggesting she may take revenge, will their happy story last?

    4. Will Tom be back?

He was convinced he was getting away, but Tom couldn’t help but try to terrorise Belle Dingle one last time before he ran, and that proved to be his downfall.

Tricking him into thinking she was letting him go, Belle actually slipped her phone in his things, which meant he could now be tracked.

As he was in the queue, about to board his new life, DS Foy arrived and arrested him.

But while this means he is behind bars, Tom is not the sort of person to go down without fighting, so could he make another appearance?

Ruby tries to move forward with Steph

Ruby Fox-Miligan has had a dramatic time in the Dales lately. Her daughter Steph arrived and while Ruby and Caleb were hopeful this meant they could be a family again – Steph brought a guest.

Anthony, Ruby’s dad, has a very apparent bad history with his daughter. While Ruby insists it’s due to him trying to convince her to terminate her pregnancy, a lot of fans have speculated if it could be more sinister.

As Steph and Ruby reunited, a confrontation quickly took place leading Ruby to slap her daughter. Fans can add that to the list of mistakes she has made recently – including sleeping with Cain.

But tonight, Ruby begs Steph for another chance, still hopeful she can get her family together – away from Anthony.

However, will Steph agree? And will her relationship with her grandfather come in between them again?

In Emmerdale spoilers for next week, Ruby continues to struggle with Anthony being back in her life.

Emmerdale’s newest addition, Anthony, wasted no time in causing a stir in the village, as his daughter, Ruby, wanted nothing to do with him.

Ruby made it clear to everyone in her family that Anthony was not welcome. Viewers know that Ruby’s parents wanted her to have a termination instead of going through with her pregnancy, and kicked her out when she refused.

However, her reaction to Anthony arriving made some fans think there may be a much more sinister backstory between them. As many predict Caleb isn’t Steph’s father.

But now that Steph has brought Anthony back in to Ruby’s life, she seems to go on a downward spiral.

Emmerdale spoilers: Ruby continues to spiral

When Anthony revealed his cancer diagnosis, Ruby was quick to accuse the man of lying for sympathy.

But as time goes on, she is shocked to realise he is telling the truth.

One person who desperately wants them to make amends is Steph. So, she sets out to convince Caleb that they need to clear the air.

Ruby, wanting to keep Steph in her life, decides to try to keep the past behind them. This proves harder than she thought as when Anthony plays happy families with Caleb and Steph, Ruby distances herself.

Anthony catches on that Ruby doesn’t actually mean her forgiveness, and decides to try and convince Steph to leave the village with him for support.
