Is Arthur the dad of April’s baby in Emmerdale? Fans sure they’ve spotted ‘hint’ despite him being gay

The mystery in Emmerdale of who the dad of April’s baby doesn’t seem to be a huge concern on the show. April gave her explanations and then it was dropped.

But viewers can’t help but wonder if what she said was lies, and that she did know who the dad of the baby was.

Initially there were a lot of theories, where fans believed she was covering for someone because she was scared of Marlon’s reaction. But now, some fans think the baby daddy may be closer to home..

What has April said about her baby’s dad?

When April was found after almost six-weeks of living on the streets, everyone wanted to know who got her pregnant.

Marlon, Rhona and Ross were all ready to track him down. Although, to do that they needed April to give them a name.

However, it seems that even April didn’t fully know the answer to that. As she explained that she was drunk at a party and slept with a random guy that was there.

She was scared of how it looked to everyone, but not long after it, it was never mentioned again.

But in Emmerdale this week Laurel commented on how April hasn’t been to see Arthur yet, leading some fans to wonder if this was a hint.

Is Arthur the dad of April’s baby in Emmerdale?

Laurel headed over to April and told her that Arthur would love to see her, and April said she would “maybe” come over for dinner some time. But the hesitation on her face was clear.

Fans took to reddit to discuss the possibility that April and Arthur may have slept together, and now she doesn’t want to face him.

One wrote: “Am I the only one who finds it odd that April has been back a month and lives about five doors away from Arthur, but she hasn’t responded to him. And she hasn’t seen him at all in that time? I think in a weird twist he might be the baby’s father.”

However, one huge issue with the theory is that Arthur is gay, and had his own coming out storyline. So if this came true, it would kind of ruin his own character arc – which others point out.

A viewer commented: “I don’t want that. I am sick of the whole ‘gay guy sleeps with a woman in a moment of madness and gets her pregnant’ storyline. It’s not realistic.”

Others have called for Arthur to begin a romance with April’s friend, Dylan.Â

Another added: “This would be infuriating. I would much rather Arthur hook up with Dylan instead. That could be a potentially good storyline for him.”

Dylan will be new love interest for Arthur, Emmerdale fan theory predicts

April’s friend from the streets, Dylan, is currently staying in Emmerdale and fans have predicted that he will be a new love interest for Arthur.

April Windsor met Dylan when she run away from home over Christmas, and stayed with him in a derelict house, which doubled up as a squat.

Dylan is now staying with April and her family, but could he settle in the village and find love? Fans think so.

We first saw Dylan during the special episode last month, which detailed April’s time on the streets. Dylan rescued April from the clutches of a pervert and allowed her to stay with him in a derelict house.

Despite being safely back home for a few weeks now, April has still been struggling to adjust. Earlier this week she went back to the squat to catch up with Dylan.

Dylan was in a bad way, but insisted April go back home to her family. However, April invited Dylan to Emmerdale and the following day he turned up.

After being wrestled to the ground by Ross, who was certain Dylan was on something, April invited him in. She also managed to convince her dad to let him stay for the night.

Yesterday’s episode saw the one night extended to a few after Marlon felt guilty for wrongly accusing Dylan of theft.

But could Dylan’s stay be even more permanent than that?

Dylan and Arthur to get together in Emmerdale?

Arthur Thomas has been fairly absent on screen of late, but fans are predicting that he could have a new story coming up.

One fan wrote on X: “So April is avoiding Arthur… I reckon Arthur forms a crush on Dylan, April gets mad and tells Arthur about the baby and the weird twist about him being the father.”

Another fan suggested Dylan could move into Laurel’s B&B if he needs somewhere to stay, with a third fan questioning: “Is that still standing? A new romance for Arthur then with Dylan?”

Arthur previously had a brief romance with classmate Marshall, who originally struggled to accept his sexuality. Last year, after a long stay in Australia, Arthur went on a date with newcomer Lewis, but it came to nothing. Could Dylan be the start of a new chapter for Arthur in Emmerdale?

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Arthur’s lies erupted in the Woolpack and Tom turned his threats towards a child

Emmerdale tonight saw Arthur spiral further out of control as he boasted about his sex life – and was caught out. But as he refused to admit he was lying, all hell broke loose in the pub.

Meanwhile, Tom’s threatening behaviour intimidated Carl and then he turned his attentions to young Isaac.

Arthur told a sex lie

Laurel and Charles were still playing flirty Mcflirty pants and Arthur was trying to ignore it. He had other things on his mind, mainly John Sugden. Arthur has completely convinced himself John has the hots for him and is trying to get into his pants by fawning over his camper van. That van’s seen a lot of action!

Arthur then made out to April that he and John had sex in the back of the van. She was pretty disgusted – and Laurel overheard everything and she was disgusted too.

Laurel immediately confronted John in front of everyone in the Woolpack (where else?!) and John denied everything. When he called Arthur a kid, Arthur lost it and revealed Laurel’s fling with Charles to the pub. And yes, Jai did hear everything.

A confrontation between Laurel and Jai ensued and he accused her of sleeping with anyone. She has been rather flighty recently – what is with this overly sexual Laurel, she hasn’t always been like that, has she?

Tom made more threats in Emmerdale tonight

The mask is well and truly beginning to slip for Tom King. Thank the Lord.

After an axe in his back a week ago, Tom was up and about and driving Carl to the dentist. Tom was soon showing his scary side as he confronted Carl over the missing tablet. The terrified lad owned up about Isaac having it.

Tom then started manipulating Carl suggesting he could end up in jail for stealing it. He played the hero and said he’d keep the secret and then turned on the charm and offered to buy him a milkshake. Carl was pretty confused – and scared – but how long before he admits Tom’s terribly behaviour to Nicola and Jimmy?

Tom then told Carl he would deal with Isaac when he decides to. If he touches a hair on that child’s head we will not be responsible for our actions, that’s all we’re saying.

Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Moira made friends

Moira was still worried about Isaac’s remaining sheep (fortunately we later found out she’s going to be okay). Ruby was on babysitting dutire and they went for a walk in the countryside.

Frustratingly, Moira still can’t remember what happened yesterday and feels totally out of control. Ruby was surprisingly understanding and then revealed it was her mother’s cremation today. These two being friends is fast becoming an Emmerdale highlight.

The soap also seems to have remembered Moira and Vanessa were once great friends as well. We are liking all this female solidarity, long may it continue!

Liam longed for Chas, but Ella’s still there

Ella and Liam are awkwardly getting on with their relationship and Chas was forced to cover for Liam in front of Ella about their afternoon together yesterday.Â He later apologised in the pub and it was clear they are far more comfortable together and have much more in common than Ella and Liam – compounded by Ella’s arrival and the awkwardness that descended.

How much longer before Ella and Liam ends? It’s clear they only have sex in common, so just get him with Chas and be done with it.

5 Signs Arthur Thomas is about to go off the rails

Ever since he got back from Australia there has been a change in Arthur Thomas in Emmerdale. He’s mean, moody and miserable.

So, is this just a typical teenage rebellion or are their signs this is about to turn into something much, much darker?

We have a sinking feeling it’s the latter and as he causes chaos with his lies about John on Friday October 4, his relationship with mum Laurel is going to hit breaking point. But just how far will things go? It looks like Arthur is about to go off the rails – here’s all the evidence.

1. Arthur’s grown up a lot

It’s fair to say young Arthur has dealt with a lot in his life. Although he wouldn’t have known about it, he was swapped at birth, then given back to his rightful parents Laurel and Ashley after the other baby died. Laurel then struggled to bond with him.

He then lost his dad in heartbreaking circumstances when Ashley was diagnosed with early onset dementia. On top of that loss, he was manipulated by evil Emma Barton not long after his father’s death.

Arthur realised he was gay last year and after coming out to his family, tried to help his friend Marshall deal with his own sexuality. Marshall’s father was very religious and Marshall came to live with Laurel and co. It was a case of too much too soon for Arthur and Marshall and they called time on their relationship.

Arthur then went to Australia to see his grandad over the summer and has come back a completely different person. He’s trying to step up and be the man of the house following Jai and Laurel’s split and his mum’s heart attack, and he’s drinking, dating and boosting about his love life.

All typical teenage behaviour one might argue. But is it really? Or has everything Arthur’s been through forced him to grow up too quickly and now it’s going to come tumbling out in a bad way?

2. Arthur is telling lies in Emmerdale

After setting his sights on John Sugden Arthur has been flirting and making everyone cringe with his attempts to seduce the grumpy paramedic. He has made out to April he left a string of broken hearts in Australia and is far more experienced than he clearly is.

And then he lies that he and John have slept together like it’s no big deal. Except that would be a really big deal. If it were true.

Laurel overhears the lies and all hell breaks loose when she believes them and confronts John. But will Arthur’s humiliation at his mum treating him like a kid spill over into something more?

3. Emmerdale: Arthur has a temper

Spoiler pictures for next week show Arthur laying into mum Laurel screaming and shouting at her. And it’s not the first time we’ve seen a glimpse of his temper.

He has been giving Jai a very hard time over the divorce from Laurel – rightly so, perhaps, but being rude to him in the street and shutting down any attempts at a reconciliation seem very unlike Arthur to us. And all this pent up rage has to come out at some point…

4. He’s got form

Let’s not forget that Arthur wasn’t always the sweet, studious boy we now know. When Archie first came to live with dad Jai and Laurel in 2019, Arthur didn’t take it well.

He felt pushed out and jealous of the attention Archie got, so started to viciously bully him. Things soon turned violent and he left bruises on Archie – but blamed Jimmy King!

When his grandad Sandy died, Arthur believed it was his fault and he was being punished for what he’d done to Archie. He confessed to his mum, who was furious, but kept it secret from Jai. However the truth came out when Archie was hurt and Arthur was blamed – although this time, he hadn’t actually done anything.

The bad behaviour culminated in a fire that almost killed his sister Dotty. Could history be about to repeat itself?

5. It runs in the family

Arthur isn’t the only one with a history of violence in his family. In fact, his dad, Ashley used to abuse his elderly father Sandy. The revelation of the abuse was so bad it ended his first marriage to Laurel.

Is it a case of like father like son? In times of stress, will Arthur start to lash out like his dad did?

So where is the Arthur storyline going in Emmerdale?

Next week, things are so bad between Laurel and Arthur Nicola has to step in. They are arguing constantly and the tension is palpable. Nicola manages to get Arthur to confess to his lies, and offers him comfort and advice.

But Laurel is hurt and furious that he has confided in Nicola and not her. She lets rip once again and things are right back to square one.

With tension at an all-time high and Arthur clearly on a destructive path, just how far could this go? Is this really a teenage rebellion? Or is Arthur going down the Tommy Moon route in EastEnders?

All the evidence suggests Arthur’s heading for something big as his behaviour worsens. Does Laurel just need to loosen the leash? Or is there more to this?

It’s just a hunch on our part for now and we really, really hope we’re wrong. Come on kind Arthur, come back to us!

Arthur tells a huge lie in Emmerdale spoilers

1. Arthur pretends he’s slept with John

After flirting with John in front of April yesterday, foolish Arthur takes things one step further. He makes out to his friend that he and John have gone all the way.

April’s shocked, as is Laurel, who overhears every word of Arthur’s confession.

Appalled at the thought of her son bedding a man old enough to be his father, Laurel decides to have it out with John. But will Arthur set her straight and admit he made the whole thing up?

2. Laurel confronts John

John’s quiet lunch in The Woolpack is interrupted when Laurel storms in shouting the odds about him and Arthur.

Of course, John hasn’t got a clue what she’s on about and denies any wrongdoing.

Meanwhile, Arthur arrives at the pub to witness his mum laying into John and wants the ground to swallow him up.

3. Arthur outs Laurel’s affair with Charles

As tensions continue to rise, Laurel refuses to lay off John. But she’s stopped in her tracks when Arthur lets slip she’s been having it away with Charles.

Jai, who’s standing nearby, is stunned to discover his soon-to-be-ex-wife (who he still loves!) has been sleeping with his so-called mate.

Is all hell about to break loose? And will Laurel find herself in Jai’s firing line again?

4. Moira and Ruby comfort one another

A few weeks ago, Moira was nutting Ruby in the nose after accusing her of sleeping with Cain. But the ladies have since called a truce following Moira’s brain tumour diagnosis.

It’s been a brutal week for Moira. Her forgetfulness led to the death of most her sheep and she’s been forced to step away from work to concentrate on her health.

Catching up with Ruby, Moira admits her fears for the future. Ruby, who’s also going through a tough time following the sudden death of her mum, shares her worries about the cremation.

5. Liam and Chas share a look

There’s sexual tension in the air at The Woolie when Chas and Liam exchange a look over the bar.

4 Spoilers for tonight, Thursday October 3: Arthur catches Laurel and Charles in the act, Liam and Chas grow closer and John has a new admirer

Laurel and Charles’s affair is back on, but in tonight’s Emmerdale spoilers the lusty duo are rumbled by Arthur. Can Laurel convince her son to keep quiet about her new relationship?

1. Laurel and Charles give into temptation, again

It’s the affair that’s taken viewers – and them – by surprise, but there’s clearly an attraction between Laurel and Charles.

Yesterday, Laurel came clean to best mate Nicola and admitted she’d bedded the local vicar. Nicola questioned why the fling had come to an end, which left Laurel questioning her feelings.

She and Charles later met up and agreed to end whatever was going on between them. But their pact to ‘just be friends’ lasts less than a day when Charles pays Laurel a visit…

2. Arthur busts Laurel and Charles

Unable to resist their animal urges, Laurel and Charles give into temptation again.

But their passionate clinch is interrupted when Arthur suddenly arrives back at Mulberry and catches his mum in a state of undress. We’re cringing for him.

Arthur is horrified to realise what’s been going on, but Laurel begs him to keep schtum. She doesn’t want anyone knowing about her new romance – particularly her vengeful ex Jai. But will Arthur agree to protect her secret?

3. Liam is there for Chas

Chas confides in ex-fling Liam she’s discovered a rash on her body.

Chas is currently in remission from breast cancer after undergoing a double mastectomy. But she fears her illness has returned.

She goes straight to Liam and asks if he can examine her. The exes are still on friendly terms after their split and Liam was a tower of strength for Chas during her cancer ordeal.

Liam examines Chas, but soon finds himself lying to Ella about spending time with her love rival. Which woman will he choose?

4. Arthur puts the moves on John

There’s a lot of Arthur action tonight!

As well as rumbling Laurel’s saucy secret, the teen makes a fool of himself by flirting with John. Arthur is desperate to prove to mate April that he’s sooo mature.

He reckons he can pull a much older man, no problem, and starts making eyes at John.Â But how will the surly Sugden respond to his new admirer?

Emmerdale spoilers: Laurel under fire from all angles as Charles dumps her and Nicola interferes with Arthur

Emmerdale spoilers reveal that next week is one Laurel would rather forget. Her relationship with son Arthur is put under further strain thanks to Nicola’s interference. And to top it all off, she gets dumped by new lover Charles! Will Laurel’s luck ever change?

Laurel and Arthur are at war in Emmerdale spoilers

Life in the Thomas household is far from harmonious. Arthur is angry with Laurel for sleeping with Charles and she won’t forgive him for outing their affair to Jai.

It all kicked off after Laurel overheard Arthur bragging about sleeping with John Sugden. It was just a silly fib, made up to impress April, but Laurel didn’t realise. She publicly accused John of taking advantage of her son, and Arthur responded by revealing her fling with Charles.

Jai was horrified to realise Laurel had been sleeping with Charles, and now he’s on the warpath. We bet Arthur ever regrets opening his mouth!

Nicola sticks her nose in

With Laurel and Arthur’s relationship in turmoil, Nicola decides to try and help. Aka, get involved in matters that don’t concern her.

Nic speaks to Arthur and is able to coax a confession from him. She then steps in as his unlikely confidante, offering her advice and urging him to make things right with her mum. Okay, maybe her involvement isn’t so bad after all.

However, Laurel doesn’t see things that way. As far as she’s concerned Nicola has no right interfering in her family business and she lets her know that.

Later, there’s a breakthrough when Laurel and Arthur appear to be back on good terms. But is Laurel about to undo all of Nicola’s good work?

Charles calls it quits with Laurel

Meanwhile, angry Jai confronts Charles over his affair with Laurel. Manpreet spots the men squaring up to one another in the village and intervenes. But Charles is left feeling embarrassed when Manpreet berates him and walks away.

Later on, Charles tells Laurel about his run-in with her ex.

Laurel wants them to discuss it, but Charles has had enough of all the drama and tells her they’re finished! Is their romance over before it’s barely begun? Jai’s going to be delighted!

10 Spoilers for next week: Death on the farm, Laurel exposed and third time lucky for Chas and Liam?

Emmerdale spoilers for next week reveal Moira’s mistake causes deaths on the farm. Meanwhile, Laurel finds herself caught out twice as she continues her dalliance with Charles, but then Arthur’s teenage rebellion takes centre stage.

1. Matty moves in

Matty is worried sick about his mum, so takes action next week. He packs his bag and arrives at the farm ready to move back in. But Moira is not impressed. She’s put out that everyone is trying to mollycoddle her so much. Will Matty back off?

2. Moira causes multiple deaths

Mack is stressed out to find sheep have escaped after Moira went out to work on the farm alone. She then agrees she won’t do it again.

However, there’s more bad news later, when she is told multiple sheep aren’t moving. Most of them are found to be dead and one is in a bad, bad way. Moira is devastated as she agrees she has to stop work for now.

3. Moira and Ruby bond

Surprisingly, it’s Ruby who Moira finds comfort in. The pair are both having a hard time and they confide in each other – Moira about her tumour and Ruby over her mother’s death and upcoming cremation.

4. Aaron questioned by police

After his car was caught leaving the scene of a crime, Aaron is questioned by PC Swirling. The case is some stolen smart watches. Of course, Aaron insists he knows nothing about it and even feigns ignorance when John comes over to find out what’s going on.

Soon Swirling finds no evidence and has to be on his way, leaving Aaron happy that he has got away with it – and kept John in the dark.

5. Aaron steals John’s van

Mack suggests they use John’s van to offload the smart watches, but John refuses to let Aaron borrow it. So instead, Aaron steals the keys and secretly loads the watches into the van.

Later, Aaron enacts his plan, but is horrified to discover all of the watches missing. Has John got one over on him again?

6. Nicola finds out

7. Arthur finds out

Hot on the heels of Nicola finding out, Arthur is next to discover his mum’s secret hook-ups. After Laurel and Charles discuss things and decide the sensible thing to do is call it a day, they can’t actually resist each other and head back to bed. Arthur catches them however, and Laurel begs her son not to tell anyone.

8. Arthur tells April a huge lie

As his teenage rebellion continues, Arthur wants to show April how mature he is by boasting about his sex life. He flirts with John and then lies to April they have had sex.

9. Laurel confronts John

But Arthur’s worst nightmare comes true when Laurel overhears the conversation and immediately storms off to confront John. She finds him in the Woolpack and lets rip. Mortified, John denies it all. But in the midst of all the kerfuffle, Arthur lets Laurel’s secret fling with Charles slip and Jai finds out. Everything starts to fall apart as things get heated in the pub.

10. Chas and Liam’s feelings reignite

Worried about a rash she has, Chas asks Liam to check her out. He agrees, but then lies to Ella over spending time with Chas. As Liam and Chas shared a charged look, it’s clear their feelings for each other are far from dead in the water. Will they finally act on it, though?

Emmerdale spoilers: Arthur lies over his relationship with John causing all hell to break loose

Arthur wants to make out he’s Mr Popular, and in next week’s Emmerdale spoilers he brags to April he’s bedded hunky John Sugden. But his silly little lie sets in motion a chain of events that could have huge consequences. We think there’s a moral to this story, kids!

Arthur has been a busy boy in Emmerdale spoilers

Arthur has come back from Australia a very different person to the one that went. He’s no longer this meek and mild lad – this is someone who’s been bold enough to take on nasty Jai and win!

It also seems Arthur is ready for love again after his break up with Marshall. He recently hit it off with newcomer Lewis and invited him over to his for a few beers. Their date went well, until Jai gatecrashed and realised Arthur hadn’t told Laurel what he was up to. Keeping secrets from your parents? Sounds like a typical teenager to us.

Now it seems Arthur has set his sights on another gay in the village – John Sugden. Blimey, that’s a bit ambitious! For starters John’s at least 20 years older, and second – what would Laurel say about it?

Arthur tells a lie

In a bid to show his maturity, Arthur starts flirting with John in front of April.

She’s surprised by Arthur’s forward behaviour, but he doesn’t want to be seen as a young kid anymore. So when April asks what’s going on between him and John, Arthur makes out they’ve slept together.

Laurel overhears Arthur’s confession and is appalled by the thought of her son having sex with a grown man.

Believing John must have been taken advantage of Arthur, Laurel sees red and storms off to find him. It’s all going to kick off!

Arthur lands Laurel in it

By the time Laurel finds John in The Woolpack she’s raging. She lays into him over his ‘affair’ with Arthur – but of course, John hasn’t got a clue what she’s on about.

As John protests his innocence, Arthur walks in and is mortified. But Laurel is the one left red-faced when Arthur outs her affair with Charles to everyone in the pub – including Jai.

What will Jai do next? Are Arthur’s lies going to lead to even more trouble?

Emmerdale spoilers: Laurel and Charles are outed to the pub as heartbroken Jai watches on

In next week’s Emmerdale spoilers, Laurel and Charles’s secret affair becomes public knowledge when Arthur outs them to the entire Woolpack. Jai is left floored by the discovery his estranged wife has been getting it on with his supposed mate. Will he be out for revenge?

Laurel and Charles are sneaking around in Emmerdale spoilers

Laurel and Charles’s passionate fling has taken them, and us, by surprise. Up until recently they were nothing more than neighbours, but that all changed after a row over the church harvest festival of all things!

Tensions flared when Laurel unveiled her plans for the event and Charles deemed them too modern for a church setting. Laurel went ahead regardless and Charles was furious at not being listened to.

The pair wound up in a furious quarrel at Woodbine Cottage. But in the heat of the moment, passion took over and Laurel ended up in bed with the local vicar. Deja-vu!

Meanwhile, Laurel’s estranged hubby Jai and Charles’s former love Manpreet got talking and decided they wanted to try and win their exes back. Manpreet arrived at Woodbine ready to declare her feelings and almost caught Charles and Laurel in the act!

Arthur catches Laurel and Charles in the act

Nosey Nicola picks up on the tension between Charles and Laurel and wants to know what’s going on between them. She confronts Laurel, who admits they slept together, but it was a one-off. But it’s clear Laurel is torn when Nicola questions why the fling is over.

Afterwards, Laurel meets up with Charles to talk about what happened, and they both agree to call it a day. However, temptation proves too powerful to resist and the lusty duo start snogging again.

This time, they’re caught out when Arthur suddenly walks in and witnesses their passion. Embarrassed, Laurel pleads with her son not to tell anyone what he saw, through fear of it getting back to Jai.

Jai is heartbroken to discover the truth

Secrets don’t stay secrets in the village for long, as Laurel soon discovers when Arthur lets slip about her encounter with Charles. The lad drops the bombshell in the middle of The Woolpack, which is packed full of punters.

Everyone is stunned, and no one more so than Jai, who is standing right near Arthur when he spills the beans.

Jai recently confided in Charles that he was still in love with Laurel and regretted their split. So how will he react to the news that they’ve jumped into bed together? Are Charles and Laurel going to find themselves in Jai’s firing line for their ‘betrayal’?
