Jenna Coleman: from Emmerdale star to television queen!

Jenna Coleman is a shining light of British television, having starred in hugely popular shows including Doctor Who and Victoria.

But she started her acting career in Emmerdale playing vicar Ashley Thomas’s troublesome niece, Jasmine. Jasmine has recently returned to Classic Emmerdale wanting to stay for good.

But actress Jenna ended up staying for four years before moving on to bigger things. Here’s everything we know about Jenna.

    Jenna’s early years

Jenna was born in Blackpool, with excellent soapy credentials – apparently her grandmother suggested the name Jenna after the character Jenna Wade in Dallas!

Jenna-Louise, as she was known back then, took part in all sorts of drama productions growing up, including a professional production of Summer Holiday at Blackpool Opera House.

Jenna was planning to go to York University to study English, but she changed her plans, because she’d been offered the part of Jasmine in Emmerdale.

    Jasmine in Emmerdale

Jasmine was the troubled and troublesome niece of Ashley Thomas. She stayed with Ashley and Laurel for a short while, then after she was expelled from boarding school, she returned to the village for good.

Things were never boring with Jasmine around! She and Debbie Dingle fell in love. But Cain Dingle also seduced teenaged Jasmine – urgh – and she got pregnant (though she had a termination).

    Jasmine’s journalism career

When she left school, Jasmine was determined to become a journalist and started investigating Tom King’s murder. She didn’t find the killer – who was Tom’s son, Carl – but she did help suspect Jamie Hope clear his name.

Later Jasmine started looking into local crime family the Macfarlanes. She got to know a police officer Shayne Doyle, who was helping her. She even started a romance with Shane. But he was not a good person. Turned out he was in cahoots with the Macfarlanes. When Jasmine started asking too many awkward questions, he attacked her. She fought back and accidentally killed the crooked cop!

With the help of Eli and Debbie, Jasmine got rid of the body. But in the end, Jasmine admitted what she’d done and she went to prison.

    After Emmerdale

Jenna joined Waterloo Road for a short while in 2009, playing ‘hard girl’ Lindsay James.

But it wasn’t a straightforward journey after that. Instead, Jenna went six months without acting work. She moved to Hollywood and though she won a small role in Captain America: The First Avenger, things were tricky.

    Big break!

After a fair amount of disappointment, Jenna was asked to return to the UK to join the cast of Titanic, a four-part drama written by Downton Abbey’s Julian Fellowes.

And after that, the jobs kept coming! Jenna starred in the adaptation of PD James’ story Death Comes to Pemberley, among others.

    Doctor Who!

In 2012 it was confirmed that Jenna was to play Clara Oswald, the companion of the Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith. She was very popular with Doctor Who fans, and went on to be the companion when Peter Capaldi took on the role.

    Jenna as Queen!

After Doctor Who, Jenna played the young Queen Victoria in the historical drama Victoria. The show ran for three series. Since then Jenna’s been in shows including The Cry, The Serpent, Wilderness and Sandman. Most recently she starred in detective drama The Jetty.

She’s also appeared on stage in the West End.

    Jenna’s personal life

Jenna was in a relationship with Game of Thrones star Richard Madden for several years and then dated Tom Hughes, her Victoria co-star. In 2020, she met her current partner Jamie Childs, and this summer Jenna announced she is pregnant with their first baby.

Fans work out Moira death twist after she tells Cain she won’t have her tumour removed

Moira Dingle announced to husband Cain she was not having the operation to remove her tumour in last night’s Emmerdale. Cain took the news badly – and so did fans who are convinced this is a signal that she’s going to die.

But is it just the tumour talking? Can Moira find the strength to face the operation and get rid of her ‘houseguest’ for good?

Moira refuses brain surgery in Emmerdale

It had been clear there was something very wrong with Moira for a while. Mood swings, violent outbursts and forgetting what she’d done, plus terrifying seizures, all showed something was seriously up.

She put it down to the menopause, but when she shot at Ruby, locked them in a barn together and started a fire, it was clear there was far more to it. Tests in hospital showed Moira has a type of brain tumour called a meningioma. Although it is believed to be non-cancerous, the growth has left Moira terrified for her future.

At the moment the doctors have advised a ‘watch and wait’ approach. The idea is to get the seizures under control with medication and see if the tumour continues to grow and at what rate. Then surgery may be an option.

Cain has been adamant he wants her to get the tumour out as soon as possible. Moira, however, is scared of surgery and not making it out alive.

They had agreed not to talk about the tumour for a few days and even got very intimate on the sofa last night (Wednesday September 18). But their post-coital bliss didn’t last long when Cain made a comment about her having the operation and Moira snapped. She dropped the bombshell she wasn’t planning to have the surgery at all.

Was it just the tumour causing her to say things she didn’t mean? Or is she really serious?

    Fans worry Moira will die

Those watching at home immediately started to fear for Moira’s future. They are convinced this is a sign she is set to die and leave the soap forever.

One begged on social media: “Oh Please get it Moira please! Don’t leave us!!”

“And this is why she dies cos she doesn’t have the operation,” said one more.

Another added: “Wtf! So Moira is gonna die.”

“Think she dies,” said a fourth.

A fifth speculated: “Is this why Ross is coming back? She dies and he’s back for her funeral???”

Emmerdale has not confirmed if Moira will die. A meningioma is something you can live with, but as we have seen her personality has changed as a result. Plus the seizures could prove dangerous if they aren’t brought under control.

Will Moira agree to get the surgery? Could she die on the operating table? Or will her refusal to get the operation cause her to deteriorate to such a point something awful happens?

  • Nate’s fate is revealed, but Emmerdale fans don’t believe it

Nate’s fate is revealed, but Emmerdale fans don’t believe it

During the latest episode of Emmerdale, we finally discovered Nate’s fate after his strange exit – or did we?

Fans have been concerned about Nate’s whereabouts, given he just disappeared. Some fans believe he went to Scotland like he had been planning, but others have different theories.

Despite Emmerdale apparently revealing Nate’s location, some fans are still not convinced. We didn’t actually see him leave, and let’s face it, if you didn’t see it then it didn’t happen.

    So just where is Nate?

Nate on Emmerdale, looking worried (Credit: ITV/EI)
    Where’s Nate? (Credit: ITV/EI)

    What happened to Nate?

Earlier this month, Moira leaned in for a kiss with Nate. The indiscretion was witnessed by Caleb, who wasted no time in spilling the beans.

Despite Nate being the innocent party, neither Cain nor Tracy were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Cain punched his son several times, while Tracy inflicted a different kind of pain when she told him she’d no longer be moving to Shetland with him.

Nate and Tracy, who’d only recently reunited, had been planning a move north of the border due to Nate being offered a new job there.

Nate went on to talk to John about the situation, insisting he wouldn’t be going quietly. But then he did exactly that… and we haven’t seen him since.

Tracy has since discovered the truth and knows Nate is innocent. But nobody had heard from him, until now…

In last night’s episode (Monday, September 15), Tracy received a text message from Nate, which read: “Settling in, head’s a mess, don’t call me, I’ll call you when I’m ready.”

Fans are not having it though and are convinced there is more to Nate’s exit.

    Fans suspicious over Nate’s exit

Nate’s exit seems all too easy and odd, especially given his last scene saw him say he wouldn’t be leaving quietly.

Fans are certain something sinister has happened to Nate, with many taking to social media to share their theories.

“Was it Nate that text or someone else? Ya never know in that village,” asked one fan, with another writing: “Is Nate really still alive or is he dead somewhere and someone has got his phone…”

Another viewer felt it was a weak exit for the character and is hoping there is more to it. “Bar his affair with Moira, Nate’s character wasn’t the most impactful but what a [Bleep] exit! I’m hoping Tom or John’s killed him and [is] texting Tracy. Duller characters have been given better exits. What an insult to Jurell,” they wrote, referring to Jurell Carter, who has played Nate since 2019.

One theory fans have is that John is responsible for Nate’s departure, given he was seemingly the last one to see him.

“John relays that Nate’s gone, which is always suspicious in a soap. In fact, all of this is VERY suspicious. The texts, ‘don’t call me I’ll call you when I’m ready’, very convenient. Did he even send them?” asked another cynical fan.

Are we over thinking it, is Nate really in Scotland like he should be? Or has he met a more grisly end?

  • Fans do a complete U-turn over Mack as they hail him ‘hero’ of the episode

Fans do a complete U-turn over Mack as they hail him ‘hero’ of the episode

Fans of Emmerdale have done a complete U-turn over Mackenzie Boyd following the latest episode.

Previously, Mack has rubbed viewers up the wrong way. Mainly because of his cheating on Charity with Chloe and his treatment of both women.

Fans complained about Mack continuing to grate, even going so far as to beg for him to be killed off.

But is a redemption arc on the way for Mack?

    What happened in Emmerdale?

Following the shocking barn fire, as she recovered in hospital, Moira was given the news that she had a brain tumour.

Cain behaved like a petulant child and refused to be by her side, insisting he couldn’t handle it. He eventually had a change of heart, though his anger continued to rear its head.

In last night’s episode (September 16), not satisfied with the doctor’s advice – as presumably Cain knows better – he tipped up a table and stormed out.

Moira’s brother Mack was the unlikely source of calm, as he shared some strong words with his brother-in-law, telling him to “get a grip and be better”.

Mack told Cain: “She will worry that you’ll throw another selfish tantrum because you’re too weak to handle it. She needs to know what she’s up against. How can she do that when she’s too busy worrying about you?

“We’re all struggling here, but this is the start of what Moira has to deal with.”

Emmerdale fans enjoyed the confrontation and have lauded Mack for standing up to Cain.

Emmerdale fans call Mack a hero

Following the episode, Emmerdale fans took to Instagram to express their joy at Mack’s words.

“Mackenzie was the star of tonight’s episode,” wrote one fan, while another added: “Got to respect Mack tonight.”

A third fan said: “Mac tonight was…” accompanied by three emojis – fire, applause and a hand making the OK sign.

Another fan was in agreement, writing: “Well said Mackenzie.”

With fans having done a U-turn on Mack, could Moira’s diagnosis be the source of some good and be the making of Mack?

Emmerdale tonight: Moira’s got to ‘watch and wait,’ Mack gives Cain some valuable advice, and Ruby isn’t coping

In Emmerdale tonight, we *finally* found out where Nate has gone – and spoiler alert, he didn’t die in the fire like fans thought…

For the last few days, fans have been left seriously suspicious over Nate’s whereabouts. Actor Jurell Carter said his goodbyes to the soap last week – but viewers have pointed out a lot of holes in his exit storyline.

Some fans think he actually did move to Scotland like he planned whilst others think he was caught up in the barn fire.

And tonight (Monday, September 16), the truth is finally out.

    Cain looks aghast

Emmerdale tonight: Cain reaches out to Nate

At the start of the Emmerdale episode, Cain was at the hospital with Moira – keen to get in touch with Nate. With Nate having apparently upped sticks to Shetland, Cain wanted to put the past few days behind them.

For those who forgot, Cain accused Nate of ‘kissing’ Moira – when in reality it was caused by her brain tumour.

But when he called up Nate later on, he didn’t pick up (hmm…)

Tracy upset over Nate news on Emmerdale tonight

Back in the village, an emotional Tracy was back at work following Nate’s apparent exit. Fans will recall Tracy was supposed to head off with Nate to Shetland and have their happy ending.

But then, after finding out about his ‘kiss’ with Moira, she called it off. Sometime later though, she seriously regretted it when she learned the truth.

Anyway, tonight, Victoria and Vanessa saw an emotional Tracey fresh from crying. And it turns out it had something to do with Nate…

    Emmerdale reveals where Nate is

In Emmerdale tonight, Tracy received a text from Nate. Yes! A text! He is aliveeeeee!

It was the moment soap fans have been waiting for! And the message read: “Settling in, head’s a mess, don’t call me, I’ll call you when I’m ready.”

    Wow, brutal.

Well there we have it! Nate is alive and in Shetland! He’s not burnt to a crisp and has not been killed!

Unless Tracy has turned into Annie from Misery and is keeping him hostage? Hmmmm. Emmerdale’s 2024 Christmas storyline maybe?

Emmerdale's Moira and Ruby are in the barn

    Ruby finds support in Chas

Elsewhere in the episode, Ruby was still left shaken after the barn fire, and with silver fox Caleb not showing his support, she ended up confiding in sister-in-law Chas. (The iconic duo we never knew we needed!)

Also, Moira went through her treatment options – whilst getting annoyed with her family’s constant interference.

The neurosurgeon ultimately suggested that Moira should follow a ‘watch and wait’ approach – which didn’t go down too well with Cain. So much so, he tipped a hospital table up and stormed out…

    Cain and Mack clash

Mack ran after him and he soon gave Cain some home truths, with the pair getting into a rather tense shouting match…. Anyone else feeling a tad hot under the collar?

Afterwards, Mack then told Cain how ‘everyone’ is struggling with Moira’s diagnosis. After Cain said he wanted to do right by Moira, Mack proclaimed: “Good, then get a grip and be better!”

At the end of the episode though, Moira ended up confusing Cain for her son Adam Barton in a truly heartbreaking moment. We’re not crying, we promise!

5 Emmerdale spoilers for tonight, Monday September 16: Moira and Cain fear for the future after her brain tumour diagnosis, and Amelia carries on sticking up for Tom

Moira’s family rally round in Emmerdale spoilers

    1. Moira is in a state of shock

At last we all know what’s wrong with Moira, and as we feared it’s bad news. The Dingle mum has been diagnosed with a non-cancerous tumour after doctors detected a mass on her brain.

The type of brain tumour that Moira has is a meningioma. It’s the reason she’s been suffering from symptoms such as seizures, erratic outbursts, confusion and memory loss.

As the week begins, Moira is still struggling to come to terms with her illness. She knows it’s going to be a long and difficult road ahead.

    2. Moira meets with her neurosurgeon

Moira meets with her neurosurgeon, who outlines her options for treatment. But what’s already an anxious situation is made worse by her family’s constant interjections.

The surgeon proposes they use a ‘watch and wait’ method to monitor the tumour’s growth. But both Moira and Mack struggle to get their head round this idea.

Will Moira insist on another course of action?

    3. Cain and Moira fear for the future

Traumatised Cain’s consumed with guilt over his inability to realise how seriously ill Moira was. And as the grim reality sets in, so does his anger.

Later, Cain is by his wife’s side as they discuss the doctor’s plan for her treatment. Their lives have been turned upside down and it’s clear both of them are scared for what will happen next.

But Cain starts to fear they may not have much time left when Moira shows signs of further neurological deterioration. Can she be saved?

    4. Chas is scared for Amelia’s safety

Tom is still laying low after being publicly exposed as a violent abuser. His treatment towards Belle has become the talk of the village, but Amelia is convinced her fella is innocent. Seriously girl, wake up!

Chas interrupts Amelia secretly stashing food into her bag and knows at once who it’s for. The pair have a heated debate about Tom, and Chas can’t believe her ears when brainwashed Amelia continues to defend him.

    5. Amelia clashes with Kerry

Chas shares her concerns about Amelia with Amy and Kerry, who are equally worried for her safety. Kerry, being Kerry, wants to go in all guns blazing, but Amy urges her mum to take a more tactful approach.

However, within minutes of Amelia’s arrival, an argument erupts over her refusal to see Tom’s true colours.

Frustrated, Amelia storms off, while Amy warns Kerry if they push too hard they risk losing her to Tom for good.

Spoilers: Moira continues to deteriorate as Cain struggles to control his anger

In Emmerdale spoilers, Moira Dingle continues to unravel following her diagnosis with a brain tumour. And, as he grows frustrated by the hospital’s lack of urgency, Cain struggles to control his anger.

Cain and Moira learned that a brain tumour was responsible for her recent confusion and aggression. This caused her to act wildly and in a state of confusion – kissing Nate, head-butting Ruby and causing the barn fire/explosion which left all of their lives at risk.

During the height of her illness, Moira even had visions of old enemy Emma Barton. This caused her to lash out, trapping Ruby in the barn and sparking the barn fire which ultimately turned into a barn explosion.

The reason for Moira’s recent actions may now be known, but she’s not out of danger yet. And, as her neurosurgeon outlines a plan to ‘wait and see,’ she and Cain are left worrying for their future.

Moira feels overwhelmed by her family’s constant interference as the neurosurgeon outlines her options for treatment. Proposing a ‘watch and wait’ method to deal with it, Moira and Mack struggle to understand the doctor’s reasoning.

  • Review of the week: Moira’s in danger, in hospital, and making friends with Ruby!

Review of the week: Moira’s in danger, in hospital, and making friends with Ruby!

This week our Emmerdale review is hot, hot, hot! Just like Moira’s barn, which exploded with Moira and Cain inside – it was dramatic stuff.

And finally we found out what’s been going on with poor Mrs Dingle’s health. Here’s what we thought of all the action in our Emmerdale review.

    Emmerdale barn is on fire
The barn exploded! (Credit: ITV/ Composite EI)

    The barn explosion

We have never been fans of big stunts in soap. They have their place and sometimes they work so brilliantly we talk about them for years (yes, we are still going on about the Hotton By-pass crash, so what?). But you can have too much of a good thing. So exciting and dramatic as the barn blowing up was, it was the other stuff around it we liked best this week.

Moira zoned out just at the wrong time (Credit: ITV)

    Moira’s health crisis

Never were the stakes higher than when Ruby was out cold and Moira had to get her out of the burning barn – only to have another absent moment. As Moira zoned out, the tension was ramping up. What a cliffhanger! It was great soapy telly.

And the reveal that Moira has a mass on her brain that has been causing her odd behaviour, and her reconciliation with Cain (which is frankly more than he deserves, in our opinion though he did save Moira’s life so we’ll let him off), was heart-wrenching and emotional. We really hope Moira gets through this!

Cain saved Moira’s life but we’re still not happy with the way he’s been treating her! (Credit: ITV/EI)

    Moira and Ruby

We’ve wanted Moira and Ruby to be friends since Ruby first arrived in the village and there was a little moment this week where we thought it could happen! Ruby went to visit Moira in hospital and they both apologised – sort of – for their past behaviour. It was understated and a little bit funny and we loved it.

Arriving in the barn to gloat, Ruby [BETH CORDINGLY] becomes slightly sorry for Moira Dingle
This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship (Credit: ITV)

Mack’s still invincible in our Emmerdale review

Mackenzie Boyd is like Emmerdale’s answer to Wolverine – he’s survived a clifftop plunge in his car, a stabbing, being held at gunpoint, the fire in the maize maze, and being chased by a bull. And now he’s dived into the blazing barn and rescued Ruby, too. Is there nothing this man can’t handle? Because actually it’s getting a bit boring now.

Mack and John Sugden fight their way through the flames in Emmerdale

    John’s making his mark

The other hero of the fire was, without a doubt, John Sugden. Not only did he battle the flames alongside Mack, he swung into action and revealed he’d been an Army medic. So in this Emmerdale review we’d like to confirm that he’s definitely growing on us.

Cain Dingle punches Nate Robinson and leaves him lying on the sofa in Emmerdale
Surely this isn’t how Nate’s story ends? (Credit: ITV)

    Where’s Nate?

Nate’s exit was well, a bit unfair. After getting a beating from his furious dad, Cain, Nate tried to say goodbye to daughter Frankie, only for Tracy to send him packing. Though Tracy did eventually relent and let Nate say a tearful farewell to his little girl.

Later, Nate told John what had happened, explaining that Moira had thrown herself at him. And he said he had nothing to be ashamed of – he wasn’t going to run away like he was guilty. Instead, he said he was going to see Moira, though John seemed to talk him out of it.

We can’t help wondering, though, if Nate did go to find Moira after all. Could he be an unexpected victim of the barn fire?  It’s weird to hope that someone dies, but we feel his exit would be just too mean if there isn’t a twist!

So it looks like Nate Robinson has waved goodbye to Emmerdale, and frankly, we don’t blame him! Poor Nate was humiliated by Tracy’s affair with Caleb. Then just as it seemed they were about to make a go of things – disaster! Caleb spotted Nate and Moira hugging, got the wrong end of the stick, and everything fell apart.

Caleb told Cain what he thought he saw. And of course, Cain stormed off to confront his son – and give him a proper beating.

    Devastation for Nate in Emmerdale

We sat down with Jurell Carter, who plays Nate, to find all about how he leaves Emmerdale – forever!

“I think he’s just devastated,” says Jurell. “All he’s ever wanted is a relationship with his father. For Cain to get the wrong idea… He’s just devastated and heartbroken.”

Cain’s reaction isn’t entirely shocking, given that Nate did once have an affair with Moira, but Jurell says that was a long time ago.

“That Cain even believes Nate would do such a thing, that he’s taken their relationship back to square one, leaves Nate heartbroken,” he says.

    Confrontation!

The confrontation between father and son, was brutal and shocking – so how was it to film?

“We had a fight arranger because obviously Cain lays into Nate, and Nate doesn’t fight back,” Jurell tells us. “The fight was amazing to do but from Nate’s perspective it’s heartbreaking, going down that road again.”

The fight means Nate’s decision to leave was an easy one – though a big one.

“It’s huge for him but family is massive for Nate. This is a pivotal moment in terms of Nate going forward and his decision leaving everyone behind. It isn’t what he wanted to do, but he’s been left with no choice.”

Sad farewell for Nate in Emmerdale

It’s a sad ending for Nate because he’s the wronged party. So is he angry about what’s happened? Or is he more sad?

“I think it’s a mixture,” Jurell muses. “I just think he feels helpless in a way because he’s trying to convince Cain and Tracy that Moira came onto him. Obviously no-one’s really believing him and they’re shutting him out.”

So Nate’s off – and that means Jurell is too. Is he sad to be going?

“The character of Nate and myself share a mindset of wanting to go on to a next chapter, but also just being emotional and sad over leaving everything behind,” says Jurell. “That’s how I feel as an actor, in terms of leaving a show that I love.”

    Happy memories

After five years on the show, he must have some happy memories. So what was Jurell’s favourite storyline?

“I will never forget the massive fallout [of Nate and Moira’s affair] with all the boat stunts, for so many reasons – just how intense, dramatic and there was so much adrenaline rushing through that whole week.”

But will Jurell keep up with the action on-screen?

“Of course. It’s going to be weird because at the minute it feels like I’ve just got some time off and I’m going back soon. But knowing that I’m not, it’s such a weird feeling. I’m definitely going to be watching and supporting because I’ve made friends for life with the cast, so it’s special.”

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: We finally know what’s wrong with Moira as she and Cain make it out alive – but where is Nate?

Emmerdale tonight told several things we already knew: Moira and Cain survived the barn explosion and we now know what’s wrong with her. But there’s no sign of Nate, who’s believed to have gone to Shetland. Has he though?

Also, Tom is still missing and Belle’s worried sick he’s been hurt by Cain.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale on Thursday September 12.

Moira is alive – and we know what’s wrong with her!

Behold! Cain and Moira emerged from the barn under the burning blanket having somehow survived that explosion. God knows how.

John then stepped in and got Moira breathing again. And the emergency services finally arrived – about time!

At the hospital, Moira was stable, but Cain wasn’t really interested in going to see her. He has decided things are over and her nearly dying changes nothing. Oh Cain, from hero to zero in just 10 minutes. Chas gave him a talking to though and in he went. Croaking and dazed, Moira wanted to explain herself to her husband, but Cain wouldn’t even hold her hand. He just demanded the truth.

Even in all of this, he was still more concerned about why she kissed Nate. Moira insisted she didn’t know what she was doing – and her fears something was very, very wrong. Still, Cain wasn’t interested – his pigheadedness is getting about as annoying as Tracy right now.

Moira continued to explain her hallucinations of Emma Barton, but it was only when Moira had a seizure in front of him that he finally, finally saw this was serious. The doctor then did a CT scan and we at last know what’s wrong with Moira: she has a mass putting pressure on her brain.

Cain then changed his tune pretty quickly and comforted his wife, insisted she was going nowhere and nothing she had done had been her fault. We don’t like to say we told you so, Cain, but you know, we did. At least he feels remorseful now and is blaming himself for not helping her. But is it too late for sorry?

    Nate listens

    Where is Nate?

Vanessa doesn’t believe Nate would cheat with Moira of all people, but Tracy was adamant Nate did it. She won’t hear him out and insisted they were done. Gosh her wallowing is getting really annoying.

John later mentioned to Tracy that Nate definitely wasn’t there when the barn was burning. He said Nate had already gone to Shetland. Has he though? Has he really? Without so much as an exit scene? Hmm…

Meanwhile, Tracy is now worried Nate will meet someone else in Shetland. So you don’t want him, but you don’t want anyone else to have him? Make up your mind love!

Turns out she wanted a big dramatic goodbye with Nate and is upset she didn’t get it. And there was so much talk between Tracy and Vanessa about how Nate will always be there and he’ll call and send presents and be in Frankie’s life. It was all a bit OTT, hammering home how Nate is fine.

Oh and then Cain told Caleb: “I’ll be lucky if I still have a son.” If all this isn’t signposting Nate’s death, then we don’t know what is! Is there a shock (not shock) coming?

Tom was still missing in Emmerdale tonight

Vinny comforted Belle who was upset over her situation. She confessed Tom was abusing her and she thought he would have killed her. But Belle was still panicking about whether Cain had hurt Tom.

Meanwhile, Jimmy locked horns with Charity in the pub as he defended his nephew. The battle lines have been drawn and it’s Dingles versus Kings. We know who our money is on…

Amelia confided in Kerry that Belle was spreading lies about Tom. But it was clear Kerry was concerned Amelia had been sucked in. However, she went to the pub and revealed all to Chas, who was shocked. Finally Emmerdale has brought Chas into the storyline – it’s about time!

As Chas blamed herself, everyone is really worried about missing Tom and whether Cain has done him in. So where is Tom?

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

We’d almost forgotten about Will – and so had everyone else, but at the barn fire Chas realised he was missing. Mack located him around the side, unconscious. Mack shouted for help with far more gusto than he’d used about his sister in the previous episode.

Will was taken to hospital where he was hopeful of a reunion with Dawn when she came to see him. But she was just checking he was okay and off she sulked to cut her nose off and spite her face again.

We finally found out more about John – he was an army medic. He was hailed a hero in the pub, but found all the attention uncomfortable. As he had a drink with Aaron, Aaron tried to persuade him to stick around and it’s clear his feelings for his ex’s half-brother run deep.
