Charity sneaks into Home Farm in search of dirt on Joe Tate in Emmerdale spoilers for tonight. Last night’s episode saw Charity grow frustrated as son Noah fell even further under Joe’s thrall.
Unbeknownst to them both, Joe has been leaving cruel messages on a review site for Noah’s electrician business, hoping to sabotage his career as the village’s resident sparky. As a confused Noah complained that he was struggling to find work in the wake of all the 1-star reviews, Joe floated an idea: move to Dubai, where the salaries are good and the apartments are free.
Noah was eager as Joe called up a contact in Dubai. Witnessing the exchange, Charity was horrified. She tried to talk Noah out of going, but only succeeded in driving a bigger wedge between herself and her son.
Determined to find out what Joe’s real game is, Charity snuck onto Home Farm. As Dawn and Joe nipped upstairs for their latest seedy tryst, Charity set about snooping. But what will she find… and will she be caught in the act by Kim?
Elsewhere, April recovers in hospital following her ordeal. Can Marlon give his daughter the love and support she needs?

Dramatic comebacks of iconic characters is what all Emmerdale fans live for. Recently, we’ve been treated to the return of Kim’s nemesis Joe Tate – who’s back in the village after a six-year absence.
Joe was unveiled as the mastermind behind Will and Peter’s plot to bring down Kim, and we can’t wait to see what other wicked tricks he’s got up his sleeve.
His perfectly staged return has also got us thinking about the other Emmerdale comebacks that really hit the mark. Here are six characters we were delighted to see back on our screens…
Kim rose from the dead (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock)
Best Emmerdale comebacks includes Kim Tate
Kim is the queen of the comeback, and one in particular has gone down in Emmerdale history.
It was 1997 when Kim did a disappearing act following the death of her lover Dave Glover. She paid a lookalike to drive her car around the village to make it look as if she was still around. But then the woman was found dead behind the wheel and Frank was charged with ‘Kim’s murder’.
Kim made a spectacular return and confronted Frank in the living room at Home Farm. The shock of seeing her back from the dead caused him to suffer a fatal heart attack. Instead of ringing for an ambulance, Kim just stood over and watched Frank die.
Once she was sure he was gone, Kim calmly pulled out her make-up compact, powdered her nose, then used the mirror to check Frank had stopped breathing. Oh, and she ended up receiving half of Home Farm in Frank’s will. What an icon!
Aaron returned to Emmerdale and found love with Robert (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock)
Aaron Dingle
There was a lot of hype surrounding Danny Miller’s return to Emmerdale in 2014.
After two years away from the soap, would the award-winning actor be able to recapture the magic he’d brought to the role of Aaron first time round? As it turned out, yes!
Aaron returned to stop his best mate Adam getting involved in a robbery with Ross Barton and Donna Windsor. That particular plot was pretty forgettable, but what was to follow was certainly not.
The Emmerdale writers had decided it was time for Aaron to have a new love interest. And just weeks after his comeback, the moody mechanic shared that first forbidden kiss with Robert Sugden. And with that Robron was born!

Robert Sugden makes the list for best Emmerdale comebacks
Robert’s return to Emmerdale in 2014 was another triumph!
The legacy character had been away for five years when the soap announced his return. It was confirmed the role of Robert had been recast, with actor Ryan Hawley taking over from Karl Davies.
Within weeks it was hard to imagine anyone but Ryan portraying Robert. The character’s addictive love affair with Aaron led to one of the most popular partnerships in all of Soapland.
Charity has always lived life in the fast lane (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock)
Charity Dingle
In 2015 Charity was sentenced to two years in prison for perverting the course of justice. She was released after a year, but when Cain and Moira went to pick her up, they discovered she’d already left.
As it turned out the crafty minx was straight back to her old tricks. Moments after leaving the clink, Charity went on the rob and stole a red Ferrari from a nearby dealership. She took it for a spin, but disaster struck enroute when Charity ploughed the vehicle into a field and got stuck in the mud.
Later that day, Cain and Moira spotted the stolen Ferrari. They were gobsmacked when Charity stepped out, declaring she couldn’t come back from prison with nothing! Moira dealt with the situation by taking the car back to the dealership, while the police were hot on their heels.
But the shocks kept on coming when Charity then entered The Woolpack and declared she’d bought Diane Sugden’s half of the pub! She then blackmailed former lover Ross Barton into coughing up the cash for the purchase.

Ross Barton
The long-awaited return of the Barton bad boy was one of our 2024 highlights.
Ross was a favourite amongst the fans during his first stint in the Dales and always at the centre of the drama. When news of his return was announced, actor Michael Parr, teased there would be fireworks for his character. And he wasn’t wrong!
During his time away, Ross had turned his hand to bareknuckle boxing and was unveiled as Billy Fletcher’s opponent. Strutting in to whoops and cheers from the crowd, Ross ripped off his sleeveless hoodie to show a rather impressive six pack.
Now that’s how to make an entrance!
All eyes were on Tina when she showed up at Zak’s funeral (Credit: ITV)
Tina Dingle
Zak Dingle’s funeral on Emmerdale was full of surprises – the biggest one being the comeback of his long lost daughter, Tina.
The character, who was previously played by Jacqueline Pirie, hadn’t been seen in the Dales for 28 years. So you can imagine everyone’s shock when she rocked up at Zak’s graveside. Belle didn’t even recognise her half-sister, which is hardly surprising seeing as they’d never met.
Now played by Brassic star Samantha Power, Tina claimed she was back to pay her respects. But there was an ulterior motive to her return. After causing carnage at the funeral, which resulted in her being carted off by the police, Tina tried to lay claim to Zak’s will. Then came the bombshell that she was Vinny’s real mum, a secret which she tried to blackmail Mandy with.
She may have wreaked havoc amongst the Dingles, but Tina Mark Two did not get a positive reaction from the fans. They took to social media to voice their disappointment, with some saying the recast was an insult to the original actress.
Samantha has shared she’d be up for Tina coming back to cause more mischief, so let’s see what 2025 has in store.

Christmas in Soapland is the gift that keeps on giving, and Emmerdale has treated us to some spectacular seasonal episodes.
Along with the usual turkey, trimmings and tantrums, December 25th in the village often brings the most dramatic births, marriages and deaths.
So here are our picks of the 11 best Emmerdale Christmas moments…

Emmerdale best Christmas episodes: Vic dies and Belle is born 1998
Birth and death was the theme for the Emmerdale 1998 Christmas episode.
Postmaster Vic Windsor was killed off in a bungled armed robbery by Andy Sugden’s dad, Billy Hopwood. A fight ensued after Vic caught Billy trying to break into his Post Office safe. Billy – who was armed with a shotgun – threatened Vic, then pushed him into a set of shelves. Critically injured by the impact, Vic pleaded with Billy to ring an ambulance, but the cowardly criminal scarpered. Poor Vic was left to die alone, as 11.1 million tuned in to mourn the passing of one of their favourite characters.
While Vic was breathing his last, over at Wishing Well Cottage the Dingles were receiving a surprise delivery. Belle entered the world after Lisa gave birth in the family’s pigsty. But the biggest shock was she didn’t even she was she pregnant. No wonder why Zak fainted at the sight of his wife cradling their newborn daughter!

Ashley and Bernice’s sweet love story led them all the way to the altar on Christmas Day 2000.

Bernice looked beautiful in a traditional ivory gown and veil, while Ashley was dapper in his dog collar. In a break with usual tradition, the wedding went without a hitch.
But sadly the fairytale wasn’t to last. Less than a year later, Ashley and Bernice’s marriage was over after she confessed to an affair with sexy chef Carlos Diaz.

Louise Appleton kills her stalker boyfriend 2002
Danger loomed in the 2002 festive episode when Woolpack landlady Louise Appleton discovered the identity of her secret stalker.
Louise was being hounded by creepy messages from a mystery tormenter, but had no idea it was actually her boyfriend, Ray Mullen. Having convinced Louise she was in danger, Ray then persuaded her to move away with him to Italy.
As Christmas Day arrived, the couple left Emmerdale and were on their way to the airport. But the journey took a sinister turn when Louise realised Ray was the one who’d been making her life hell.
She fought back and Ray lost control of the wheel, forcing the car off the road. With Ray knocked unconscious, Louise managed to flee the scene and make it back to the village, but he wasn’t far behind.
The drama continued on Boxing Day when Ray arrived at Mill Cottage for a final showdown with Louise. A violent fight ensued, which resulted in Louise killing her evil boyfriend.
Louise was now a murderer, but got away with it after her friend Terry Woods helped make it look as if Ray had died by accident.
Tom King breathed his last on Christmas Day (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock)
Emmerdale best Christmas episodes: Who killed Tom King 2006
Tom King’s murder stands out as one of Emmerdale’s finest Christmas episodes.
The nasty King patriarch was killed at Home Farm on the day of his wedding to Rosemary Sinclair. Tom was getting ready for the reception in an upstairs bedroom when he was confronted by a shadowy figure. An argument broke out and Tom was bludgeoned with a bronze ornament before being shoved through a window. He fell to his death in front of the shocked locals, who were gathered to celebrate his big day.
The shock murder sparked a huge whodunnit, but the suspect list was rather long due to the amount of enemies Tom had. Those in the frame included Tom’s three sons, Jimmy, Matthew and Carl, and even his new bride Rosemary.
Fans had to wait a whole five months before it was revealed that Carl was the killer. He’d finished his father off after Tom threatened to disinherit him unless he dumped girlfriend, Chas Dingle.

Victoria falls through the icy lake 2008
Christmas 2008 was nearly Victoria’s last after she fell through a freezing lake.
Vic had been out drinking in the grounds of Home Farm with her mates when she stepped onto a frozen lake. Suddenly the ice beneath her gave way and the teen was plunged into the sub zero waters.
She was saved by Daz Eden’s quick-thinking actions, as he risked his own life to rescue Victoria. When she regained consciousness, Victoria revealed she’d seen a body floating in the murky lake.
The corpse turned out to be rapist police officer Shane Doyle, who had been murdered weeks previously by Jasmine Thomas.

Chas jilts Carl at the altar 2010
Emmerdale love a festive wedding drama – and Chas Dingle and Carl King‘s disastrous 2010 nuptials definitely delivered.
The pair’s toxic relationship imploded after Chas learnt Carl had been bedding barmaid Eve Jenson. Charity urged her cousin to take the cheating toe rag for every penny – which is exactly what she did! Chas popped the question to Carl and pretended she was pregnant with his kid. A wedding was swiftly arranged and Chas asked Eve to be her bridesmaid, putting her in a revolting peach puffball dress to ensure maximum humiliation.
With the stage set, Chas then dumped Carl in front of the entire congregation, outing his betrayal with Eve and revealing there was no baby. Now that’s how you do revenge.

Emmerdale best Christmas episodes: Robert sabotages Andy and Katie’s wedding 2014
Andy Sugden and Katie Addyman hoped it would be second time lucky when they set the date for December 25, 2014. Vengeful Robert had other ideas.
Unable to back down in the bitter war with his brother and the woman he’d once loved, Robert had already given Andy a black eye before his big day. But he wasn’t going to stop there.
As Andy and Katie exchanged vows at the altar they were horrified to realise Robert had sabotaged their rings. Inside her gold band was inscribed the words ‘village bike’, while Andy had ‘village idiot’ inside of his.
But Robert wasn’t the only one who tried to disrupt the nuptials. Andy’s broken-hearted ex Bernice Blackstock also screamed abuse at the congregation of St Mary’s and had to be restrained by Diane.
Despite all the interruptions, Katie and Andy did actually get end up getting wed – but what a day!

Robert’s dream sequence 2017
Robert Sugden took centre stage in 2017, in a festive offering that marked a change of direction for Emmerdale.
In a break away from the traditional style storytelling, the episode acted as a standalone one. It was described by Emmerdale’s then boss Iain MacLeod as “Groundhog Day meets A Christmas Carol with a little nod to the film Don’t Look Now.”
The episode saw Robert wake up multiple times on Christmas morning, facing a different reality each time. In each sequence, Robert was visited by the ghosts of Christmas future, as he saw the impact of his selfish and reckless behaviour.
Returning to present day, Robert made a desperate attempt to right his wrongs, hoping to rekindle his romance with on/off lover Aaron Dingle.
The installment really broke barriers for soap, and was enjoyed by 5.1 viewers. Unfortunately they didn’t get the Christmas gift of a Robron reunion, but that followed shortly afterwards.

Paddy and Chas say I do 2020
Who can forget Christmas 2020, aka the one where we were all in lockdown? But amidst the Covid pandemic gloom came a ray of light in the form of Paddy Kirk and Chas Dingle’s festive nuptials.
Paddy had decided to surprise Chas with a romantic wedding and had been busy making plans to ensure the day was perfect. But it nearly didn’t go ahead after Chas suggested Christmas weddings were cursed, and Paddy quickly cancelled.
When Chas realised what Paddy had been planning she had a sudden change of heart. She summoned Paddy to the church, where she asked him to marry her! The couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony with only Marlon, Aaron and Bear in attendance. And Chas looked stunning in a gorgeous red dress that Paddy had purchased specially.
Afterwards, the happy couple returned to The Woolpack, which had been transformed into a winter wonderland, and enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife.

Charity kills Damon Harris 2023
Last Christmas was one Charity Dingle will never forget – but for all the wrong reasons! Charity shot and killed Damon ‘Harry’ Harris to stop him murdering her husband, Mackenzie Boyd.
In the lead up to Christmas, Harry had kidnapped and tortured Mack as payback for him dumping his daughter. Bit extreme, no? Harry fully intended to finish Mack off (with Chloe watching), but Charity got wind of what was going on.
She tailed Harry back to the dingy warehouse where he was holding Mack. Watching from the shadows, Charity witnessed Harry drawing a gun from his pocket to use on Mack.

Over the last few months in Emmerdale, Tom seems to keep finding ways to get himself out of facing consequences.
But hopefully, at long last, it’s finally the end of the evil character who has been tormenting Belle.
While we know the end is in sight, that doesn’t mean Tom didn’t try one last stunt at walking free. And he knows it’s having the effect he wanted thanks to Charity.
Charity visited Tom at the hospital – but it only boosted his ego (Credit: ITV)
Emmerdale: Tom faced Charity
Seeing how conflicted Belle was with Tom’s apparent suicide attempt, Charity decided to do what she does best; get involved.
So she headed to the hospital, and while we’re still unsure as to how she managed to get in, she did. And then it was just Tom and her.
Playing it calm at the beginning, Charity began taunting Tom. She reminded him that when he arrived back in the village, they all forgave him for the past.
Very quickly, Tom tried to paint himself as the victim, reminding Charity that Belle literally stabbed him in the back with an axe.
That’s when things began to change for Charity, and she informed Tom that she doesn’t see him as a victim, but instead a game player.
She then implied that he faked the suicide attempt to get out of court, and that’s when Tom’s mask started to slip.
At the thought of Belle spiralling over his hospital visit, Tom began to sound excited. And that’s when Charity realised she may be making things worse.
But fans couldn’t help but think there was a much easier way for Charity to have proven the whole thing – by recording him.

Fans wish Charity recorded Tom
Taking to the comments of Emmerdale’s official Instagram post, fans spoke about how there could have been peace of mind for Belle if they went down a different route.
One wrote: “I honestly thought Charity was recording Tom during her visit. Would have made a great plot twist if she had.”
Another added: “I hope she recorded the whole conversation!”
A third penned: “Would have all been easier to prove if she had’ve thought to record him. Belle would have believed her then.”
It appears while Charity was smart enough to get herself into the hospital room, she never thought of recording him.
And now, with Tom more convinced than ever that he will be walking away a free man, it’s time for him to put on the performance of a lifetime.

Emmerdale spoilers: Charity visits Tom in hospital (Credit: ITV)
1. Belle is terrified
Last night saw a code red in prison, with Tom getting rushed to hospital after he attempted to take his life. But of course, it was all just another one of his manipulation strategies to come out on top.
But for Belle, she doesn’t know this. And the thought of potentially being the reason that someone took their own life is too much for her.
While the Dingles all try their hardest to support her in any way they can, she begins to question if she is capable of standing up in court. So in her time of need she turns to Paddy for some words of wisdom.
However, will she walk away from their conversation with a new found courage? Or is she going to be questioning herself even more?
2. Charity takes things into her hands
The Dingles always rally around their own in time of need, and Charity isn’t going to sit back and watch Belle fall apart over something that isn’t true.
So when she realises Tom faked his suicide attempt, she manages to get access to his hospital room – of course she does, she’s Charity Dingle.
At first Tom is taken aback to see her there, but when she tries to get him to admit he faked the whole thing to affect his court day, Tom realises she’s only there because Belle must be questioning everything.
Charity leaves the hospital fearing she has made the situation worse. And when Tom tells Ollie that Belle will no longer testify, is he right?
3. Billy refuses to go to Home Farm
Jai blindsides Billy and Dawn, asking them to move out of Holdgate by the end of the week. Of course the pair weren’t expecting that, but Dawn believes heading back to Home Farm would be the best thing they could do.
However, this doesn’t go down well with Billy, as he completely refuses to go back there, even with the bleak situation they are in.
With Dawn getting more and more frustrated, what will they do?

Emmerdale spoilers 4. John opens up
Aaron has been blindsided by an unwanted camping trip with John. And last night’s episode (December 16) saw Aaron open up to him about Gordon.
However, when Charity made it clear that if he wanted a relationship with Moses he’d have to give the fighting up, Ross did the right thing and tried to cancel his next fight.
Another obstacle to Ross forming a relationship with Moses comes in the shape of Charity’s partner Mack, who has been a father figure to Moses.
Ross and Mack have bickered constantly, with Moses stuck in the middle. This went one step further last week when Ross gave Mack a beating. There was a reason for it, though – Mack’s decision to steal £10k from Jade had nearly got young April killed because Jade kidnapped April as leverage until she got her money back.
However, the attack was witnessed by Moses, leaving Ross as the bad guy. Charity told Ross he’d never see his son again, while Moses told his dad to go away and described him as a bully.
Emmerdale fans are on Ross’s side (Credit: ITV)
Fans side with Ross
Taking to X, viewers expressed their anger at the situation and defended Ross against Mack. One fan said: “Mackenzie really starting to grind on me like what is his problem with Ross he need to get a life.”
“Why is Ross getting the blame and Mackenzie blameless and getting away scot free?” asked another viewer. A third fan echoed that thought and said: “Why is Charity not bloody angry with him [Mack] for putting her and Moses at risk and April in danger! I know Ross isn’t innocent but it’s ridiculous how Mack gets away with no blame!”
A fourth viewer said: “All down to Mack… but let’s blame Ross…Â Can’t even solely blame Ross for the fighting, considering Billy was involved. Then Mack steals the money & even when Ross explains how dangerous Jade is, he still doesn’t do a thing. Now, I am NOT a fan of Ross, but come on!”
Another fan added: “It’s not Ross’ fault April got into a car with a stranger, Marlon. Mack is such an ass. He caused this not Ross. He’s a jealous, petty man who had that decking coming.”
Other fans even went as far as to feel sorry for Ross, with one writing: “Is it weird I feel sorry for Ross?” and another adding: “Feel sorry for Ross – for once he hasn’t done anything wrong.”

Weddings in Emmerdale are known to bring the drama, and the occasional jilting. Over the years, several unlucky brides and grooms have found themselves dumped at the altar.
Often someone’s been a naughty cheat and it’s coming to them, but there are those that just didn’t deserve such a public humiliation.
Get ready to relive their embarrassment all over again as we look at 10 characters who were chucked on their wedding day.

Emmerdale jilted characters: Luke McAllister
We’re rewinding the clock back to 1995, a time when Tina Dingle had a different face and was engaged to wed local heartthrob Luke McAllister.
Their romance caused uproar in the village, particularly amongst the Dingles, who blamed Luke for the death of Zak’s son Ben. The lad had collapsed and died after taking a punch from Luke, although it later transpired he had a heart defect.
Nevertheless, the Dingle clan never forgave Luke for their loss and drove his family out of the village. Luke stayed put and ended up falling for Tina, who he met at a dance. Naturally, her loved ones were livid.
Luke did not take the news well. Weeks later he attempted to kill Tina in a speeding van, but she jumped out just in time. Luke wasn’t so lucky. He ploughed the vehicle into a fence and was killed on impact.

Albert Dingle
It’s hard to imagine Lisa with anyone other than her beloved Zak, but she nearly became another man’s Mrs Dingle.
Lisa and Zak hit it off straightaway after meeting in 1996, but Zak’s jailbird brother Albert also had his eye on her. When Zak failed to prove his feelings, Lisa agreed to marry Albert, even though she didn’t really love him.
Their wedding day ended up being one to remember. First Lisa’s horrible ex-husband Barry Clegg crashed the nuptials and had to be forcibly removed from the church. Then Zak came to his senses and declared his love for Lisa in front of the whole congregation.
Poor Albert was heartbroken and ended up fleeing the village after the police arrived to question him over an armed robbery.
Zak finally got his girl, and just four months later Lisa became his wife.

Kathy Glover
Twice-widowed Kathy Glover hoped it was going to be third time lucky when she became engaged to her former brother-in-law Biff Fowler. But sadly it wasn’t to be.
Twisted teacher Graham Clark managed to get into Kathy’s head. The pair grew close and Kathy started to wonder whether she was marrying the right man. However, she put her doubts aside and decided to go ahead.
Dressed to impress in a gorgeous gold wedding gown, Kathy made her way up the aisle. But just as they were about to exchange vows, Biff called the wedding off, declaring he was unable to trust her and Graham.
Kathy was devastated and begged Biff to carry on. But his mind was made up. Biff rode out of the village on his motorbike shortly afterwards and hasn’t been seen since.
Nicola discovered Carlos had been bedding Bernice (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock)
Emmerdale jilted characters: Carlos Diaz
When Nicola Blackstock (now King) fell for dishy chef Carlos Diaz she had no idea he was sleeping with her sister, Bernice.
After the affair ended, Carlos ended up getting with Nicola. And she was so desperate to keep hold of him that she pretended she was pregnant. Carlos proposed and Nicola accepted. But that’s when it all started to unravel.
During her hen party, Nicola was caught necking vodka by Bernice. She confessed she wasn’t expecting and Bernice (who was actually pregnant at the time) insisted she had to tell Carlos before the ceremony. Nicola did the right thing, but was horrified when Carlos revealed the truth about him and Bernice and admitted he could be the father of her baby.
Appalled, Nicola stormed the church and declared the wedding was off due to Carlos cheating, before informing Ashley of his wife’s betrayal. Savage!
Bride-to-be Charity was set up by evil Sadie King (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock)
Charity Dingle
It’s not often we feel sorry for Charity Dingle, but she didn’t deserve to be jilted by Tom King. Particularly as it was all super bitch Sadie’s fault.
Sadie was Jimmy King’s first wife, and Tom’s daughter-in-law. She despised Charity and did not take kindly to the idea of a former prostitute threatening her position at Home Farm.
So Sadie started plotting to sabotage the couple’s big day. She recruited Cain to her dastardly mission, and paid him to make a move on Charity and capture the moment on camera. Although Charity rejected Cain’s advances, the incriminating pictures suggested otherwise.
Sadie showed the snaps to Tom on his wedding day. And surprise, surprise, he called off the nuptials, leaving Charity feeling totally distraught. And as for Sadie, she got her comeuppance. When Tom finally wised up to her scheming he cut her off without a penny.

Kelly Windsor
Jimmy King sure knows how to pick ’em. After being made a fool of by first wife Sadie, he fell for another manipulative minx – Kelly Windsor.
In the lead up to their wedding Kelly discovered she’d fallen pregnant. The timing couldn’t have been worse. Kelly had just landed a lucrative modelling contract and feared a baby would scupper her career. Taking her agent’s advice, Kelly underwent an abortion behind poor Jimmy’s back.
But Kelly’s lies caught up with her on her wedding day. Eli Dingle paid Jimmy a visit and told him about the abortion. And if that wasn’t bad enough Eli also revealed he’d shared a cheeky snog with Kelly.
Disgusted by her double betrayal, Jimmy told Kelly she could forget becoming Mrs King!
Emmerdale jilted characters: Michael Conway
Handsome Michael Conway was introduced to Emmerdale in 2009 as a love interest for Debbie Dingle.
Cain outed Debbie and Michael’s affair and the fact that Debbie was her daughter. But despite the shocking revelations, Charity and Michael agreed to carry on with the wedding. That was until Debbie informed Michael that Charity had tricked him into proposing by pretending she was pregnant.
Charity was forced to admit there was no baby, and Michael called the whole thing off.

Cain Dingle
Once upon a time Cain and Charity were on the verge of becoming husband and wife. But the wedding never happened.
After a tumultuous on/off affair that had begun when they were underage teens, Cain proposed to Charity on Christmas Day 2009. He got down on bended knee and presented her with a plastic engagement ring.
Swept up in the excitement, Cain organised a surprise wedding with a little help from his sister, Chas.
Unsurprisingly, the couple split shortly afterwards. Charity went on to wed husband number two Jai Sharma, while Cain married Moira.

Emmerdale jilted characters: Carl King
Fans across the country cheered out loud for Chas the day she dumped love rat Carl King at the altar.
It was Christmas Day 2010 and the locals were invited to Chas and Carl’s festive nuptials. But no one – apart from Chas and her cousin Charity – knew what was about to happen.
Chas had discovered Carl had been sleeping with Woolpack barmaid Eve Jenson. In revenge, she told Carl she was pregnant with his baby and asked him to marry her. He agreed, completely unaware of the trap he’d fallen into.
With her stage set, Chas took great pleasure in outing Carl and Eve’s affair to everyone. And as a final sucker punch, she informed Carl there was no baby after all.

Gabby Thomas
Gabby’s jilting may have happened in the more private setting of Home Farm, but that didn’t make it any less humiliating.
It should have been the happiest day of Gabby’s life as she prepared to marry nanny Nicky Fox. But she discovered their whole romance was based on a big fat lie.
On the morning of their intended nuptials, Nicky couldn’t carry on the cruel deception. He told Gabby he couldn’t marry her because he was actually a gay man. She was devastated, but that was nothing compared to Caleb’s fury that his scam had failed.
