Emmerdale spoilers: The game is up for Will as flashbacks reveal what really happened to Rose

In next week’s Emmerdale spoilers it’s game over for Will when the truth about missing Rose finally outs.

Viewers will discover Rose’s fate through a series of flashbacks. But is she dead or alive? And what part did Will, and Kim, play in it all?

Will is harbouring secrets in Emmerdale spoilers

Will has always claimed he has no clue where Rose has disappeared to, but we all know that’s a lie. In fact, he had every reason for wanting rid of his meddling ex-wife.

Rose’s arrival to the village earlier this year turned Will’s life upside down. He hadn’t seen her in years, since she walked out when their daughter, Dawn, was still a toddler. Will slowly began to accept Rose back into his family’s life, but was unaware she had a hidden agenda.

It transpired Rose was in cahoots with Ruby, in a sinister plot to ruin Kim’s life. Part of that plot was to wreck Kim’s marriage, so Ruby ordered Rose to seduce Will. She did as she was told, and after framing Kim for poisoning Dawn, she got her wicked way with Will.

Will was consumed with guilt over the betrayal, but then it all kicked off after Kim rumbled Ruby and Rose’s plan. She and Will took their revenge on Rose, abandoning her by the side of a road in the middle of nowhere.

Later that day, Rose was ‘rescued’ by someone driving a Home Farm vehicle. But there were fears she’d come to serious harm when the contents of her handbag was later seen strewn all over the road.

Could Will have been the person behind the wheel?

The pressure starts to build for Will

Since Rose’s vanishing act, both Will and Kim have suspected one another of foul play. With their marriage close to collapse, Kim fled to Dubai, while Will has been left behind to struggle with his guilt.

This has been made worse by Dawn’s desperation to find her mum. Dawn is fearful something awful has happened and wanted to report Rose as missing to the police. She’s also needs to know if Rose is a match to be a donor for Evan’s bone marrow transplant.

Dawn’s distress has made Will sick with worry, and prompted him to send her a text from Rose’s phone.

Will hoped this would be enough to throw Dawn off the scent. But the pressure is building, and secrets and lies are about to be revealed.

    Rose’s fate is revealed

After weeks of lying to his loved ones, Will is going to be caught out.

A series of flashbacks finally explain what happened to Rose after she was picked up from the roadside.

So was Will the driver? Did he find a way to get rid of Rose for good? And is that why he’s had the face of a guilty man ever since? Or could Kim have killed again and he’s covering up for her?

    All will be revealed…

Emmerdale spoilers: Will desperately tries to make things right when Dawn reveals Evan needs a bone marrow transplant

In Emmerdale spoilers for next week Will’s heartbroken to learn cancer-stricken Evan might need a bone marrow transplant.

With Dawn desperate to find missing Rose and Kim out of the country, Will’s guilt forces him to take action. But will his latest risky move be enough to fix the mess he’s in?

Will is sick with worry in Emmerdale spoilers

It’s been a couple of weeks since Rose went AWOL and no one has heard a peep from her since. Suspicions are mounting over her disappearance, but Will and Kim definitely know more than they’re letting on.

The couple both had their (very valid) reasons for wanting rid of Rose. Kim had just rumbled Rose and Ruby’s plot to destroy her life, and Will didn’t want anyone finding out about their night of passion.

Rose was last seen crying by the side of the road when a mystery car pulled up next to her. Moments later, her belongings were left lying on the road with no sign of their owner.

Whether Rose is dead or alive, and if Kim and Will know about her fate, remains to be seen. But with Kim in Dubai for work, Will has been left behind at Home Farm to think on his sins.

Dawn has bad news for Will

As the days go by, there’s still no sign of Rose and Dawn is getting worried. She tells Will she’s going to report her mum to the police as a missing person.

Immediately, Will is thrown into panic. He tries to contact Kim, but is left fearing his marriage is over when she doesn’t answer his calls.

Will’s week then goes from bad to worse when Dawn informs him Evan might need a bone marrow transplant. The tot was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at the start of the year and has been undergoing treatment since.

Hopeful that her mum might be a match, Dawn’s need to find Rose suddenly becomes very urgent.

    Will wrestles with his guilt

While Will reels in shock over Dawn’s news, he’s haunted to think his grandson’s future could depend on finding Rose.

Later, Will sneakily retrieves Rose’s phone – which for some reason he has on his person – and listens to Dawn’s voicemail. Hearing the desperation in his daughter’s voice makes Will sick with worry and he tries Kim again. Will she answer him this time?

Afterwards, Will picks up Rose’s mobile again as he starts composing a message on it. But who is the text to? What does it say? And is he just digging himself into a deeper hole?

  • 4 theories on what has happened to Rose: Kim, Will, Ruby and Dawn in the frame over her disappearance

4 theories on what has happened to Rose: Kim, Will, Ruby and Dawn in the frame over her disappearance

Rose Jackson is no longer at Home Farm and, it seems, no longer in Emmerdale. But no one seems to know where she is – or do they? Suspicions are mounting over what has happened to missing Rose and whether she is alive or dead.

Rose was last seen sobbing at the side of the road, when a mystery vehicle pulled up beside her. The same scene was later shown with Rose’s belongings strewn on the side of the road, but no sign of Rose.

Tonight and into next week Kim and Will are looking shifty as they are both seemingly trying to cover their tracks. But do either of them know something?

We’ve rounded up the top theories on what could have happened to Rose.

Rose prepares to make a confession to Will in Emmerdale

    Emmerdale last night?

With Kim packed and ready to return to Home Farm and oust Rose, over at the manor house Rose was having another crack at Will. But he was guilt-ridden and wouldn’t give in to her advances.

Rose then discovered from Ruby that Kim knew everything, so got her side of the story in first, confessing to Will. Kim arrived mid-confrontation and calmly told Rose to pack her bags and leave.

Will and Kim then threw her in the boot and drove Rose to the middle of nowhere. Will gave her an envelope full of cash and they made her leave a message for Dawn saying she wasn’t coming back.

With Will and Kim bickering back at home over their marriage crisis, Rose was still on the side of the road crying over a picture the kids had drawn of ‘Granny Rose’. As she fell off the wagon and took a swig from her emergency hip flask, a vehicle pulled up. It appeared to have the Home Farm logo on it, but it wasn’t clear who was driving.

That was the last we saw of Rose, we next saw Kim and Will return home at the same time. Both had been out separately and both were acting suspiciously. We then saw Rose’s bag at the side of the road, with the items from it strewn around. But no sign of Rose.

Rose's things strewn on the side of the road, but what has happened to her in Emmerdale?

So what has happened to Rose in Emmerdale?

Tonight, PC Swirling turns up with Rose’s bag and asks about her welfare. Kim and Will spin a pack of lies as they hide their guilt – although which one of them is actually guilty still isn’t clear.

Next week we still don’t know what has happened to Rose. Both Kim and Will are acting like they know something, but neither is ‘fessing up. Instead they are snapping at each other and it’s clear their marriage is in trouble.

Dawn wants to hire a private investigator, so Kim sends a text from Rose’s phone telling her to leave her alone. This stops Will in his tracks as he wonders how on earth Kim got hold of Rose’s phone. Is this a clue?

Top theories on what has happened to Rose in Emmerdale

As ever, Emmerdale fans are cramming social media with their thoughts on just what has happened to Rose. And these four theories seem to hold the most water.

Kim Tate wants answers as she looks cross
Did Kim finish the job? (Credit: ITV)

    1. Kim has killed her

Kim’s reaction to Rose’s betrayal was a little bit sedated, wasn’t it? Would Kim Tate, the Queen of Revenge, really have left it there? Or is that what we’re supposed to think and actually she went back to finish the job?

“I bet Kim has killed Rose,” one fan speculated on X. Another agreed: “Ooo has Kim done the right thing and done her in?”

“Kim killed Rose,” declared an adamant third. A fourth writing on social media said: “Think Kim has gone back and done something to Rose. Then she will turn it into Caleb or Ruby did it.”

Would Kim Tate ever really get her own hands dirty, though? Surely if it was Kim she’d have paid someone to do it instead?

Will looks guilty in Home Farm kitchen

    2. Will killed her to stop his secret getting out

Although Rose didn’t reveal what had happened between her and Will, she made a cryptic comment about trust. It was clear she was planning to blow his secret at any time. And given that Will has outright lied to Kim about what happened with Rose, insisting he knocked her back, he needs to cover his tracks…

“Hot take: Will killed Rose because he knew Kim was right about Rose coming back since he gave her money. He also knew him lying to Kim would come back to bite him on the [backside],” wrote one fan.

Another pushed the storyline forward: “I think Will went to finish Rose off, didn’t trust her to come back and then we will find out that Evan needs donor and Rose is the only one in the family who can do it… something like that.”

“I reckon Will!! He was too scared she was gonna spoil his happy home he’s too much to lose,” said a third.

A fourth agreed: “I think it’s Will, he’s worried she will come back to him for more money or she will tell Kim about the kiss so he did something to shut her up.”

    3. Dawn did something to her mum

When Dawn came home and revealed she’d had that message from Rose, she didn’t seem as bothered as we thought. She took the spiking news quite calmly and welcomed Kim back to Home Farm really easily. Is that because she knows something about where Rose is? She also was seen driving a Home Farm vehicle earlier in the day…

“Maybe Dawn drove out to see Rose in the Home Farm Jeep,” queried one.

Another added: “I think Dawn was travelling home and saw her after hearing the message did something . It’s the fact they showed Dawn in the Home Farm vehicle. Crazy how these soaps get you guessing.”

“I think Dawn sorted her mother out,” agreed a third.

Ruby stares Kim Tate down in Emmerdale spoilers
Ruby wants revenge on Kim – but how far will she go to get it? (Credit: ITV)

    4. Ruby was involved in what happened to Rose in Emmerdale

Although it was a Home Farm vehicle, we actually don’t know whether that was the last one that pulled up. Was it a red herring? Could Ruby have arrived later – or even take one of the cars belonging to the estate to get Rose as part of her plan?

“I think Ruby attacked/ killed Rose. Remember Rose threw Ruby under the bus and we haven’t seen her all episode,” mused one viewer.

Someone else said: “I think it was Ruby because Rose knows too much so she abducted her to make it look like Kim had a hand in it.”

“I think it was Ruby who stopped and picked her up faking all her stuff strewn everywhere to make it look like she had been killed or Ruby has actually killed her because she knows Rose told Kim about their plan,” added another.

So, just what did happen to Rose in Emmerdale? We’re going to have to keep guessing for a while, we think!

  • Kim and Rose plot leaves fans ‘so angry’ as they say they can ‘barely watch’

Kim and Rose plot leaves fans ‘so angry’ as they say they can ‘barely watch’

Emmerdale fans are not happy about the latest twist in Rose and Ruby‘s campaign to make Kim Tate’s life a misery!

And they’re demanding that things change soon or they’ll be turning off their televisions!

Rose [CHRISTINE TREMARCO] receives a mysterious message and heads to the outskirts of the village where she meets a dealer who gives Rose a vial of tranquilliser telling her to await further instruction.

    Revenge for Rose and Ruby!

Rose is working for Ruby, who seems to be out for revenge on Kim, for reasons that aren’t completely clear.

And that means she’s taking every opportunity to drive a wedge between Kim and husband Will. Most recently she took delivery of some drugs – paid for by Ruby – that she intended to use to spike Will’s drink, and then take advantage of his snoozy state to make it look like she’d seduced him.

The plot backfired when the glasses got muddled up and Dawn drank the spiked drink.

Everyone thought Kim was to blame – especially after Ruby arranged for the drug dealer to march into Home Farm and demand payment from a bewildered Kim.

Rose dug the knife in further with daughter Dawn, encouraging her to blame Kim, and Kim – realising she couldn’t win – moved out of her own home and into the B&B.

Rose [CHRISTINE TREMARCO] saves the day when Dawn Fletcher [OLIVIA BROMLEY] forgets Clemmie’s birthday, successfully pulling off a spontaneous birthday party, leaving Dawn and Will Taylor [DEAN ANDREWS] grateful but Kim Tate [CLAIRE KING] excluded and uninvited.
Kim’s fuming with Rose but she’s giving her enough rope to hang herself – at least that’s what the viewers hope! (Credit: ITV)

    The winner takes it all

It looks like Rose and Ruby have won – for now – but Kim’s playing the long game. At least, we hope that’s what she’s doing!

The viewers, though, are NOT impressed.

They’re fuming that Kim has had to move away from her own home and they’re ready to take action if things don’t change!

“My blood is boiling with the Kim storyline,” said one disgruntled viewer. Another agreed: “It’s getting me so angry I can barely look at the screen when Dawn, Rose or Will are on.”

“The Kim and Rose storyline is the most ANNOYING thing,” fumed another fan.  “After everything Kim’s done for Dawn and she believes Rose who’s only been there for five mins!!”

Another viewer said the storyline was “stupid” pointing out that Kim would never leave her own home.

Just as Will Taylor [DEAN ANDREWS] is about to take a drink from the spiked drink, Dawn Fletcher [OLIVIA BROMLEY] and Kim Tate [CLAIRE KING] return home and two more drinks are poured meaning Rose [CHRISTINE TREMARCO] loses track of which drink is spiked.. She panics as her plan has gone badly awry...
Kim didn’t spike the drinks – Rose did (Credit: ITV)

    Biding her time?

But one fan – who has clearly been an Emmerdale fan since the glory days of the Tates ruling Home Farm – had some advice for other viewers.

“Stay calm!” the knowledgeable fan reassured everyone. “Kim will have the last laugh, she always bides her time.”

There was even a prediction that Ruby could end up at the bottom of the stairs!

While we’re not sure the all new, softer Kim Tate would go that far, we are hoping that Ruby and Rose get their comeuppance soon!

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Matty was freed, Jai moved out of Laurel’s

Emmerdale tonight was an hour long, after the soap missed an episode on ITV last night – and there was drama galore!

Top of the list was Matty’s release from prison. Everyone else was so happy to see him a free man but he was in a state of trauma.

Emmerdale tonight: Matty’s free but is Samson going inside?

The same day started dramatically differently for two Dingle households, with Sam and Lydia having another blazing row, while Moira was feeling positive about Matty’s future.

Sam had convinced himself that Samson would be heading inside for lying about the stabbing.

“It’s only a matter of time before they charge him, and not just with what he’s confessed to but for lying in the first place, perverting the course of justice.

“You’ve got no idea what you’ve done, either of you,” he snapped at his wife and son.

Samson replied that he knew his dad had hit Cain, but no one else was to blame for what had happened – and then laid down a bizarre challenge.

“Go on, hit me. It might make you feel better,” he said.

“It’s a bit late for that now,” Sam replied mournfully.

When alone with Lydia, Sam finally admitted: “I won’t turn my back on him, but Cain was right, after what he’s done I’m ashamed to call him my son. Maybe I was too soft on him, somewhere along the line I’ve failed him.
“Nothing I can do now, he’s on his own, and no idea what’s coming his way.”

Later, Matty did indeed walk from prison – and a tense run-in with Samson ensued.

“I wouldn’t wish prison on anyone,” Matty said and, assuming Samson’s fate was already sealed, added: “Just keep your head down and your mouth shut – and tell the truth, you can’t let someone like Josh get away with it.”

Hmmm, all these hints at Samson not having a clue what’s about to hit him… will he be exiting the village permanently – and in a wooden box?

    Laurel and Jai at war?

The rain cloud reached Laurel and Jai’s house in Emmerdale tonight, where they agreed to tell all their kids about their split – although he was definitely still trying to avoid it.

“So soon after your heart attack… it’s a lot for them,” he pleaded. But Laurel had no intention of changing her mind.

With Arthur away in Australia, the former couple broke the news to Archie and Dotty at home, who took it as well as small children could.
And with that chore ticked off the list, Laurel moved on to the next: Operation Get Jai out of the House.
Jai reluctantly agreed to move back into his family home, assuming Archie would be right by his side – “He’s my son, Laurel, where I go he goes.”

However, Archie had other plans – staying put with Laurel and his ‘sister’, as he cutely called Dotty.

Emmerdale tonight: Rose stepped up her plan – but, er, what actually is it?

Whether he’s secretly finding Rose a temptation under his roof or genuinely wants her gone, Will tells his ex that it’s time she found somewhere else to rest her head.

But Rose has no intention of moving on and protested that Dawn and the kids like having her at home, and her leaving would just punish them.

Later, she was briefly on a call to Bali, where Ruby is on holiday, telling her they need to move their plan on.

Before the day was out, a shady stranger handed Rose a brown envelope that contained a small bottle with clear liquid in it.

“Careful, there’s enough there to put an elephant down,” the mystery man warned. “You’ll receive further instructions in due course.”

Is murder afoot? Or a plan to drug Will to get him into a compromising position?

Liam looks intrigued as he talks to Manpreet

Liam and Chas kissing in a tree?

Elsewhere the village’s GPs Manpreet and Liam idly chatted about their disastrous love lives.
While Manpreet subscribed to the old adage the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else, Liam was resolute that – with his track record – he’s better off staying single.

His colleague protested that he clearly had unfinished business with Chas (Lucy Pargeter) after their one-night stand.
And she’d clearly hit on something as, when Chas later suggested they have a drink together, he happily agreed.

  • Review of the week: Dawn whinges, Matty left terrified and finally some laughs from Mandy and Rhona

Review of the week: Dawn whinges, Matty left terrified and finally some laughs from Mandy and Rhona

It’s been a complicated week in Emmerdale as we review everything that’s gone one. Things have been looking bleak for Matty in prison, Dawn is struggling to cope with Evan’s illness, and Lydia made an awful realisation.

But there has been one unexpected moment of fun in among all the misery.

    Here’s what’s been going on.

Dawn tells Kim to leave Clemmie's birthday party
Dawn forgot Clemmie’s birthday because of all her moaning (Credit: ITV)

    Dawn and Billy’s anguish

It’s been tough seeing Dawn and Billy coping with baby Evan’s leukaemia diagnosis. This week things got even trickier for the pair when Billy broke the protective ‘bubble’ at Home Farm and the little lad ended up back in hospital with a temperature.

It’s not been easy for Dawn and Billy – and it’s not easy for us viewers either! In fact, this whole storyline feels like a slog. Dawn’s a devoted mum, doing her best, but she’s being a bit, well, annoying. Surely it’s unrealistic to expect a whole family to put their lives on hold for what could be years? Kim can’t run weddings at Home Farm, putting a big dent in their income. Billy can’t do his personal training, even Clemmie and Lucas are being half-heartedly home-schooled, by people who don’t know what a fronted adverbial is or how to calculate 10 per cent of something.

And by the end of the week, Dawn had even forgotten Clemmie’s birthday (which seems unlikely, to be honest, as she loves her daughter fiercely), giving Rose a chance to save the day, while Kim was out in the cold.

Sadly we feel Dawn’s constant whining is making us far less sympathetic to what should be a heart-wrenching story.

As visiting time ends, Amy’s [NATALIE ANN-JAMIESON] glad Matty Barton [ASH PALMISCIANO] is more positive. As she watches him go, she’s approached by Robbo [JOHN O’NEILL], who she mistakes for Les.
Amy dropped Matty right in it (Credit: ITV)

    Matty’s torment

There’s not much happiness in the Dales this week and Matty’s prison horror is heaping misery on the misery. This week, his wife Amy accidentally landed him in it when she inadvertently revealed he was trans to prison bully Robbo.

The next thing we saw was poor Matty battered and bruised in the prison infirmary. Though shockingly, he admitted he’d asked his cellmate Les to beat him up as hospital was the only place he feels safe. It’s a tricky situation for Matty, there’s no doubt. He’s determined to stay put in the cell, but frankly we reckon if it was us in that situation, we’d be running to that isolation wing as fast as our legs would carry us.

And there is a bright side to Matty’s torment – at least while he’s banged up, he doesn’t have to listen to Dawn whining, eh?

When Josh [OSIAN MORGAN] threatens Samson, putting pressure on him to continue lying to the police, Lydia observes their interaction
Samson is more scared of Josh than he is of Moira, which frankly seems a bit stupid (Credit: ITV)

    Kidnap!

Meanwhile ferocious mum Moira was on the warpath, trying to force the truth out of Samson. She even went as far as kidnapping the lying lad – with some help from brother Mack – in an attempt to get him to admit Matty didn’t stab him.

But no, Samson’s staying schtum for now at least. In fact, he even managed to persuade Moira he was going to confess and instead he dropped her right in it with the police! What a snake!

We can’t help thinking Samson’s not being especially savvy. Is he really more scared of Josh than he is of Moira? Moira who killed Emma Barton and let her son take the blame? That Moira? Foolish choice, Samson. Foolish!

Lydia’s on to Samson now,  though, and she can be just as fierce as Moira, though a lot less handy with her fists, so we reckon it’s only a matter of time before Samson fesses up. Which is good news for those of us who are finding new, evil bestie Josh, intensely annoying!

Mandy and Rhona staggering home drunk
Mandy and Rhona have become firm friends overnight! (Credit: ITV)

I’ll tell you what I want

Rhona and Mandy’s odd feud seemed a bit forced at first and we weren’t totally on board with it. BUT! What we were totally on board with was the making up. The pair were set up by barmaid Gail after Marlon and Paddy begged her to sort out the beef between them.

And it worked! Before long, the women were necking drinks and sharing stories, and heading into town. In fact, we didn’t see them again until they were staggering home in the early hours – crossing paths with Moira and Mack who’d been at the cop shop.

When Rhona woke up at Paddy and Mandy’s later, she was in a bad way! She even discovered she had a sore back. “What did I do?” she asked. What she did – apparently – was get a tattoo of a Spice Girl! Possibly, Posh. Maybe Sporty. Mandy wasn’t sure. Either way, it was some much-needed light-relief in the midst of all this week’s misery!

    Zig-ah-zig-ah, indeed.

  • What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Stupid Samson finally confessed and stupider Sam advised he run away

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Stupid Samson finally confessed and stupider Sam advised he run away

Emmerdale tonight, and it was the morning after too-many-drinks the night before.

Few things on TV are as cringe as actors playing drunk, because most do it tremendously badly – with the exception of Natalie J Robb’s Moira in Emmerdale – and Steve McFadden as EastEnders’ alcoholic Phil.

And in tonight’s trip to the village, viewers were confronted with awkward ‘comedy’ scenes of Mandy and Rhona returning disheveled, stumbling and slurry from a night out on the lash.

The pain continued as they headed back to Paddy’s, and Rhona discovered she’d had a tattoo of a Spice Girl inked on her back… Mandy chirped: “It looks like Posh but from this angle it could be Mel C, whatever she’s got a big nose.”

Why? All so Mandy could work out Rhona isn’t boring after all, it seems.

    Pass me a drink!

Samson and Sam – Stupid and Stupider strike again

The actual laugh in Emmerdale tonight came courtesy of Sam, who straight-faced declared, “It’s a good job the police got to her before I did, I can tell you that,” as Samson snivelled about Moira kidnapping and threatening him.

Sam Vs Moira? He’d be weeing in his wellies at the mere thought of her Glasgow kiss.

Meanwhile, Natalie J Robb was pulling at the heartstrings again with her faultless 360 portrayal of Moira as she implored Lydia to accept Samson was lying – and convince him to do the right thing.

“Mother to mother, I know what I’m asking is a lot. But I’ve already buried one child, please don’t let me bury another,” Moira sobbed.

Lydia strained: “Samson is like a son to me and you’re asking me to turn him in.”

But, never knowingly not doing the right thing, she later told her stepson: “I’ve fought your corner every step of the way, supported you, so if there’s something you’re not telling us, say. Now.”

With that, Samson finally cracked and confessed.

As Lydia ran off in horror, telling Samson she’s never felt so disappointed and ashamed of him, the teen turned to his dad for advice.

“Dad, what am I going to do?” Samson whined.

“Run, get away from here, it’s the only way I can help you,” he replied.

Your Dad of the Year trophy’s in the post, Sam.

Who’s kidnapped the real Kim Tate?

While it’s been interesting to see Emmerdale’s iconic Ice Queen melting a little in her autumn years, her backbone is now in danger of full-on crumbling.

She’s allowing stepdaughter Dawn and her prodigal mother to walk all over her – in her own country manor!

Tonight, Rose took advantage of Dawn being annoyed with Kim for ‘bursting the bubble’ – allowing germs into the house – to weasel her way further into her daughter and ex-husband’s affections.

Kim was excluded from Clemmie’s birthday party. In her house.

Her response? “It’s nice to know where one stands.”

This from a woman who faked her own death to avenge her son’s poisoning plot.

Kim needs to have a word with herself, fast. Mellowing we can live with, turning into a melt, we cannot.

    Just friends

Charles told Manpreet that their bunk-up in last night’s episode had been a one-off and if being just friends now would be weird for her, he’d understand.

Her lips said friends was just fine, but her eyes told a different story – suggesting a whole new plot around Mapreet. Will she suddenly turn into a bunny boiling ex? (It’s in the genes, after all.)

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Moira arrested after Samson ‘snitch-up’

It’s been messing up the soap schedules… but is football finally coming home? Let’s just say it stands a much, much better chance than poor Matty Barton after his family’s latest desperate attempt to get him out of jail in Emmerdale tonight.

Emmerdale tonight: Moira a Mob boss in the making

In Thursday’s hour-long visit to the Dales, Moira (played by Natalie J Robb) couldn’t bear what’s happening to her son and decided to go all Glasweegie gangster – with what appeared to be EastEnders bad boys Grant and Phil Mitchell tucked down her top for moral support – on Samson’s ass.

She and Mack ‘escorted’ Samson from the Dingles’ place to Butlers’ farm, where they ‘encouraged’ him to tell the police the truth that Josh attacked Matty, in an attempt to get him off and get him to safety.

Moira motioned to (albeit half-heartedly) strangle the teen Dingle, before he agreed to the plan.

“I won’t forget this, you’re saving Matty’s life,” she told Samson, as he insisted on heading into the cop shop alone, after his aunt insisted on driving him there.

    RED ALERT MOIRA! RED ALERT!

Later, the police arrived and Moira and Mack were in shock to discover what all viewers had figured out 15 minutes earlier – snivelling Samson had doubled crossed her!

The local plod arrested M & M on suspicion of kidnapping and imprisonment – and Mamma Barton once again reminded us why she’s a soap icon as she calmly kissed her boys goodbye as though she was heading out to buy bread.

With Matty now looking even more like he’s toast.

    Friends with baggage

Elsewhere, there was a refreshingly grown-up conversation between exes Charles and Manpreet as they opened up about why their relationship actually started to go wrong a long time ago – and agreed it was lovely they could be friends. Before then ending up in bed together.

Charles couldn’t wait to make his exit afterwards as doe-eyed Manpreet said, “I’ll see you again soon then for a drink… or something.” The look on her face suggested that ‘something’ she had in mind isn’t Scrabble.

Friend-ing with benefits with the grieving ex that harshly dumped her… what could possibly go wrong?

    Kim’s kindness an awful foreshadowing?

There was more anxious pacing at Home Farm as gravely ill baby Evan was admitted to hospital with an infection. Dawn was on the warpath convinced that husband Billy was to blame after he supposedly returned home from a job in Bristol, bringing with him the offending germs.

Thankfully only Kim knew that job in Bristol was actually a booze-up with Nate and, as Dawn took Billy on a very long guilt trip, Kim stepped in to suggest she had brought the infection about after meeting a client.

Dawn branded her stepmother selfish and stupid before spitting cryptically, “She’s not getting away with this.”

In another room, meanwhile, Kim assured Billy: “Let her have a big rant about the big, bad witch. She can shout and scream at me all she likes. It’ll all calm down once Evan is better.”

Will the words ‘once Evan is better’ come back to haunt her – and tear the family apart?

Emmerdale spoilers: Rose kisses Will then tries to drug him, but it goes very wrong

Next week’s Emmerdale spoilers reveal Rose Jackson ups her game as she continues with her plan to take down Kim Tate for Ruby Fox-Miligan. But her next move could have devastating consequences…

Her plan is to drug Will Taylor and then entrap him. But it hits a serious problem when Kim and Dawn intrude on the moment. Has Rose accidentally drugged her own daughter?

    Rose kisses Will

Ruby is pressuring Rose to get going with their plan and make something happen. Panicking Rose offers Ruby an update – but is almost caught by Will.

Desperate to cover her tracks, Rose shocks Will by moving in for a kiss. But if she thought it would be that simple, she was wrong and loyal Will quickly pulls away and then walks out.

Rose has no idea if he will spill the beans to Kim, therefore cooking her proverbial goose. What he does tells Kim is that it’s time Rose moved out. Kim obviously agrees and is eager to proceed, but Rose quickly stops them talking further and more decisively by letting a horse loose. It causes mayhem and momentarily distracts Will and Kim enough to give Rose a reprieve.

The plan hits a bump in Emmerdale spoilers

With traditional seduction techniques failing, Rose plays dirty. After receiving a mysterious message, she heads off the the outskirts of the village.

There she is met be a dealer who gives her a vial of tranquilliser. He then tells her to wait for further instructions.

But things hit a snag when Evan is discharged from hospital. Unable to disconnect from her maternal feelings, Rose is overcome with joy when Dawn calls her mum for the first time.

With Rose in turmoil, she is unsure if she can go through with the plan. It is pretty dreadful and chances are Dawn would never forgive her.

Her choice is simple: betray her family and lose them for good, or annoy Ruby so much Rose would probably end up losing her family anyway. Not much choice there, is there?

    Rose’s plan goes very wrong

It seems Rose has made her choice and she pops some Champagne and drops the horse tranquiliser in Will’s glass. As they cheers, before Will takes a sip, Kim and Dawn return home.

Will insists they join in and two more drinks are poured. But as she fakes being fine with it all, Rose is thrown into a spin when she loses track of which glass contains the drugs. Oops. Not exactly a criminal mastermind, is she?

Things have very quickly taken an even darker turn and Rose has no idea how to make it right. Has she accidentally drugged her own daughter? Or is Kim on the receiving end of the nasty dose?

Is there any way out of this for Rose – or has she finally lost everything?
