Fans of Emmerdale have rejoiced at the ‘return’ of Kelvin Fletcher to the soap, almost ten years after Andy Sugden left the Dales. However, there’s a caveat – Kelvin won’t be reprising his role, but will instead be hosting a new podcast – sorry, Vodcast – on soaps with his wife, Liz.
The couple, who were married in 2015 and share four children together, currently star in the ITV show Fletcher’s Farm together, in which they share the trials and tribulations of their life on a farm in the Peak District.
Kelvin hasn’t left soapdom behind entirely though – and, posting to Emmerdale’s official Instagram account, he and Liz announced their Vodcast debut with a new video. They were joined by guest Claire Sweeney, who plays Cassie Plummer on Coronation Street.

In Emmerdale this week, Marlon Dingle went to great lengths to get rid of Dylan from April’s life. But fans don’t believe the real Marlon would stoop so low.
Marlon has been wary of Dylan since April introduced them, believing him to be a bad influence on his daughter.
During Monday’s episode (March 11), Marlon made a dangerous error and fans aren’t amused.

Marlon’s decision puts Dylan in hospital
April Windsor met Dylan on the streets during the troubled time when she run away from home. Insisting that she wouldn’t have survived out there if it hadn’t been for Dylan, Marlon agreed to let him stay at their house in the village for a few days.
However, this was a reluctant decision from Marlon. He, Rhona and Ross have continued to be concerned about the effect Dylan is having on April’s life.
Then while in the vets with Marlon, Rhona informed him that some ketamine had gone missing. The pair were quick to accuse Dylan. He firmly denied the accusation, but the missing ketamine was found in his coat pocket.
Dylan continued to plead his innocence, but when even April wouldn’t believe him, he left.
Later on, Marlon admitted to Rhona that it had actually been him who stole the ketamine in order to set Dylan up. It proved to be a costly mistake as news soon reached them that Dylan was in hospital following an overdose.
Emmerdale viewers have taken to social media to slam the storyline, claiming Marlon’s behaviour is out of character.
“The normal Marlon wouldn’t be acting like this… he’d be helping Dylan,” wrote one fan on Instagram.
A second viewer added: “Marlon… I don’t think he would have stooped so low,” with a third fan writing: “Marlon! He wouldn’t! I just can’t see it.”
Over on X, a fourth fan said:Â “Why have they ruined Marlon like this. Why can’t he go back to being the dopey but essential good hearted fool that he was?” with a fifth asking: “When did Marlon become so conniving? He was never like this at one time.”
“Please can Marlon go back to the fun guy we know. Had enough of the worst dad ever,” said a sixth fan. While another fan simply said: “This Marlon storyline is getting more and more daft every episode.”

Fans of Emmerdale have been left wondering whether Sarah Sugden‘s life is in danger as last night’s episode of the soap (Monday, March 10) revealed that her pregnancy had been a false alarm.
Sarah initially believed she had fallen pregnant after sleeping with Jacob, and shared the news with Charity soon afterwards. But, as she sat down for a check-up with Manpreet, the doctor revealed that she wasn’t really pregnant.
Sarah and Charity were left reeling at the news, with Sarah fearing that this had been her last chance at a family – due to her health issues.
Sad news for Sarah – but does she have even more cause for concern?

Sarah to die following false pregnancy, new Emmerdale fan theory predicts
Writing on X as last night’s episode aired, a new fan theory emerged – suggesting that Sarah’s life might be in danger.
“Has the false positive got anything to do with her illness? Sarah is going to be Charles next customer,” predicted one fan, referencing the recent spate of funerals in the village.
“Is this Sarah or Debbie?” asked another, sharing an image of Cain weeping over a mystery grave, from this year’s still-to-play-out flashforward.
Is Sarah’s health about to take a turn for the worse?

What’s wrong with Sarah? A brief history of her medical issues
Sarah was only six when she was diagnosed with fanconi anemia. This rare blood disorder causes bone marrow failure and means that Sarah has a much shorter life expectancy than most.
More recent health issues included Sarah’s diagnosis with throat cancer in 2017 and heart failure the following year. Sarah weathered both, thanks to extensive treatment and a heart transplant.
However, her underlying health issues could re-emerge at any time – as Sarah is all-too aware.

Fans of Emmerdale have been feeling let down by the return of Ross Barton to the soap. His returning to the Dales last year was billed as something as a big deal, exploding back onto the scene as Billy got himself tied up in an underground bareknuckle boxing ring.
Since coming back, Ross has found himself at the heart of April Windsor’s story – rescuing her when she was kidnapped by gangster Jade, telling her the truth about her mum’s death, and pitching in to hep with the search when she disappeared.
He’s also acted as muscle for Charity, kidnapping Joe to get to the bottom of what he was up to with Noah – locking him up in a barn where he almost died. Ross is never far away from the action but still, some fans have been underwhelmed.

‘What’s the point in Ross?’ ask Emmerdale fans amid underwhelming return
Writing on a Reddit thread as Ross’s latest scenes aired, fans debated the merit of his return. And some were wondering whether it was failing to live up to the initial potential.
“Is anyone enjoying this guy being back?? I wasn’t watching when he was originally in it and I know he’s got quite the history but I don’t find him interesting or even likeable at all. He pretty much comes off as dumb thug and I don’t get what the plan is for the character as he’s just done a bunch of random things and helped out with the April crisis,” asked one fan.
“Love him and think he’s good fun. Just wish he had more to do,” said another.
“The character is there for eye candy plain and simple. the character has middle child syndrome and the emotional stuff I really don’t care or honestly buy it,” another agreed.
But how do we solve a problem like Ross?
His friendship with April is sweet, but Ross has more than just April in the village (Credit: ITV)
What should Ross Barton do next on Emmerdale?
1. Spend more time with his family
It’s easy to forget that Ross is related to Moira – being her nephew-in-law via blood uncle John Barton. If his touching relationship with April has been anything to go by, his supportive and tender side is just as interesting as his badboy antics. So give him some scenes with Matty, for example, or let him be more present in Moira’s life.
2. Be a father to Moses
Similarly, Ross hasn’t been much of a presence in son Moses’s life lately – unless you count beating up the kid’s other father figure, Mack. Now that he’s sticking around, it would be good to see Ross make an effort with his son, showing some of the fatherly side he previously demonstrated with April.

3. Mourn Rebecca… properly
Fans were shocked to learn that, during their absence from the village, Rebecca had died during routine surgery. Since coming back, Ross hasn’t really opened up about how Rebecca’s death has affected him.
Granted, they had broken up by the time she died. But with his ex dead and Seb having been shipped off to a mystery aunt, there’s still some unresolved business there, and questions which need to be answered.
4. Ross should set up ties in the village, Emmerdale fans insist
Bare knuckle boxing and stealing vans from the depot aside, what does Ross do for work? He’s now a 35-year-old man, so should probably start thinking about getting a real job at some point. The whole bad boy routine has a limited shelf life – and even Cain Dingle had to calm down at some point.
“I don’t understand why he’s not working at the garage as I’m sure he’s a mechanic and the garage is called, “Dingle Barton,†because he received a share of it after Debbie’s acid attack,” one fan pointed out, in the same Reddit thread.
Ross and Steph quickly hit it off (Credit: ITV)
5. Give Steph the elbow
Both arriving in the village at roughly the same time, Ross soon hit it off with spoiled Miligan offspring Steph. While they make for a good-looking couple, one can’t help but wonder whether he could do better.
With some fans clamouring for Ross and Charity to rekindle their romance (if you could call it that), their explosive back-and-forth could give Ross some of the purpose he so needs.

In Emmerdale on Monday March 10, Marlon made a big mistake and his determination to protect daughter April put Dylan’s life in danger.
Elsewhere, Steph continued to get frustrated with her parents keeping secrets from her. Will she discover the truth about her beloved grandad?
Read on for a full recap of Emmerdale on Monday, March 10.
Dylan denied the accusations (Credit: ITV)
Marlon’s error put Dylan’s life in danger in Emmerdale
April Windsor continued to protect her friend Dylan against everyone’s judgement. She thought Ross was on her side, but his mask slipped when he referred to Dylan as a ‘junkie.’
Later, Marlon was with Rhona in the vets when she noticed some Ketamine had gone missing from the cabinet. Realising she forgot to lock the connecting door to the house, suspicion immediately fell on Dylan.
Outside, Marlon, Rhona and Ross all went in on Dylan, insisting he was quite obviously guilty. Dylan swore it wasn’t him, but inside the house, he emptied all his pockets at their request and pulled out the missing Ketamine.
Despite the evidence, he insisted he didn’t take it. He made a good point that he’d have taken the whole lot and run if it really had been him. However, despite his protestations, no one believed him – including April.
Rhona wanted to call the police, but Marlon talked her out of it. He told Dylan he had to leave and never contact April again. After he left, April apologised to her dad, telling him she should have listened.
Later on, Rhona told Marlon she was surprised that he didn’t want Dylan locked up. However, she added that he might be arrested anyway, as it was her duty to report any theft from the vets.
Marlon looked scared at this revelation and finally admitted to Rhona that Dylan hadn’t stolen the Ketamine. He had stolen it himself and planted it on Dylan as he was desperate to protect April.
Marlon then received a call from Ross, telling him that he’d seen Dylan being put in the back of an ambulance. He suspected an overdose as he’d overheard the mention of Dylan carrying spice. Marlon and Rhona immediately went to the hospital where Marlon said it was all his fault. Will Dylan be OK?

Steph continued to hunt for the truth
It’s been over a month since Anthony Fox was seen in Emmerdale and granddaughter Steph is still none the wiser about what kind of man he was or where he has gone.
Last night, she answered the phone to one of Anthony’s friends in France, who said Anthony was supposed to visit but hadn’t turned up. Ruby immediately snatched the phone from Steph and took over the conversation, leaving Steph even more suspicious than before.
Steph accused her parents of being weird and not caring about Anthony. She then followed Ruby to Anthony’s burial site in the woods – though Steph obviously had no idea that that’s what it was.
She was looking for something though, and whilst she didn’t stumble upon a Teddy Bears’ Picnic, she did catch her mum looking very suss…
Later, Caleb caught her searching through his office at the Depot. Back at the house, she told her parents she knew they were hiding something and accused them of gaslighting her.
She then screamed like an actual child and stormed out the room – not sure you’ll get answers that way, Steph…
Manpreet told Sarah she’s not pregnant (Credit: ITV)
Sarah received some disappointing news in Emmerdale
Following her positive pregnancy test last week, Charity accompanied her granddaughter Sarah Sugden to the doctors.
However, after Manpreet performed more tests, she broke the news to Sarah that the test must have been a false positive because she is definitely not pregnant.
Despite acknowledging that she is probably too young to have a baby anyway, Sarah was also disappointed by the news. Her condition means the chance of getting pregnant is low, so she felt like this was a miracle of sorts.
Sarah sadly admitted to Manpreet that she might have to accept that she won’t ever have her own baby. “I don’t usually let it get to me,” she said. “It’s just a lot. I just always hoped that I’d have my own little family one day, and I’m just gonna have to accept that maybe I won’t.”
Vanessa and Tracy went for a drink after Suzy’s funeral (Credit: ITV)
Suzy’s funeral took place… apparently
You have to feel for poor Suzy. While the other victims of the limo crash, Leyla and Amy, got a whole episode and on-screen funerals, Suzy’s funeral was not even shown. At least she and Harriet Finch both have something to chat about up in the sky now…
Last night, we saw Tracy, Vanessa and Mary waiting for a cab to take them to the service. Following the secret revelation that Suzy confessed her love to Mary shortly before her death, Mary understandably looked awkward as Vanessa spoke about her and Suzy’s special relationship.
A blink of an eye later, the funeral was done and the three women were in the Woolpack. Charity extended her condolences and apologised for causing the crash. Vanessa insisted there was nothing to apologise for, describing it as ‘just a horrible accident.’
As if to push home that Mary has a secret, Vanessa looked back at Mary as she told Charity that Mary has been ‘incredible’ and ‘a real rock.’ Surely, it’s only a matter of time before Mary and Suzy’s secret comes out?

In tonight’s episode of Emmerdale (Monday, March 10), Steph Miligan continued to hunt for the truth about Anthony and she’s getting closer.
With her parents acting suspiciously, Steph is sure they are hiding something and is determined to find out what.
Anthony Fox hasn’t been seen since January, but when will Steph discover just why he disappeared?

Steph hunts for the truth in Emmerdale
While several of the villagers are in on the Anthony secret, Steph isn’t one of them. Â Back in January, John hid Anthony’s body after believing Aaron had murdered him. It was later revealed that Ruby was the real culprit and had killed her abuser dad.
Caleb, Cain and Chas also became involved in the deceit, with the group often meeting to discuss how to stay out of trouble.
Steph still thinks highly of Anthony and is not aware that he is actually her father rather than grandfather. Caleb and Ruby have been shielding Steph from the truth. However, tonight she became more determined than ever to discover what her parents are hiding.
A friend of Anthony’s from France called the house enquiring after Anthony as he hadn’t arrived for a planned visit. Steph initially took the call, but Ruby quickly snatched the phone from her daughter.
Steph found this behaviour suspicious and later followed Ruby to Anthony’s burial site – though Steph is obviously unaware that that is what it is.
Caleb later caught Steph searching his office for evidence of their lies. Back at home she accused her parents of being weird and of hiding something about Anthony. Caleb and Ruby insisted there was no big secret, leafing to Steph accusing them of gaslighting her.
How long can they hide the truth from their daughter?

Georgia Jay hints that Steph will discover truth ‘soon’
Speaking about the phone call that comes through from France regarding Anthony’s whereabouts, actress Georgia Jay said: “Steph’s trying to put a timeline together. Ruby shuts down the conversation really, really quickly. That just gives Steph another bit of scent to go on her way and realise that something is being covered up here.”
As Steph continues to investigate, she soon comes across Caleb’s gun. “Steph comes straight out with it and confronts Caleb with the revolver. He is straight away very defensive and comes up with some story that it was used as a threat for Cain after he found out about Ruby and Cain together.
Much to Steph’s dismay, Cain confirms Caleb’s story. But Georgia has said Steph will continue to hunt for the truth. “So I think it’s one of those things where she doesn’t know what else to do, or who she can trust. It’s all closing in on her because she’s thinking who’s involved, who’s lying, who’s not, who’s covering up.”
Upcoming scenes will also see Steph want to report her parents to the police. As she continues to dig into Anthony’s disappearance, what will her reaction be when the truth comes out?
With everything ‘closing in’ on Steph, it seems that Ruby and Caleb might be forced to give Steph answers rather soon to stop her from reporting them…

Marlon and Rhona accused Dylan of stealing ketamine (Credit: ITV)
Dylan was rushed to hospital after drug overdose
After meeting on the streets, April Windsor invited Dylan to come stay in Emmerdale last week – much to the frustration of Marlon.
Marlon, Rhona and Ross have been concerned about the effect Dylan might have on April and have been eager for him to leave the village. In tonight’s Emmerdale, Marlon took matters into his own hands.
While in the vets, Rhona told Marlon that some Ketamine had gone missing. They immediately suspected Dylan and went to confront him.
Dylan insisted he’d not taken the drugs, but when the trio forced him to empty his pockets, the missing Ketamine was found. He continued to plead his innocence, but when even April wouldn’t back him up, he grabbed his stuff and left.
Later on, Marlon admitted to Rhona that it had actually been him who stole the Ketamine in order to set Dylan up and get him out of April’s life. It proved to be a costly mistake.
Soon after, Ross called Marlon to tell him he’d seen Dylan being out in the back of an ambulance after overdosing on ‘spice.’ Marlon and Rhona rushed to the hospital, where Marlon admitted to feeling guilty for what he’d done to Dylan.

Will Dylan die in Emmerdale?
Things looked bleak for Dylan at the end of Monday’s episode, but, thankfully, spoilers for this week reveal that Dylan does wake up.
Coming up this week, Marlon struggles with his guilt and wants to tell April the truth about the Ketamine. Rhona implores him not to. However, when Dylan wakes, Marlon does confess the truth to him.
Marlon explains to Dylan that he regrets his actions and only had his concern for April on his mind. Marlon also offers to pay for Dylan to go to rehab.
Dylan then surprises Marlon by telling him not to upset April by telling her the truth. But later on he asks Marlon if he can see April before going to rehab as he wants to tell her something. Has he had a change of heart about keeping Marlon’s secret, and will he get the help he needs?

Tonight’s episode of Emmerdale (Monday, March 10) saw Rhona Goskirk face the ghosts of her own past as Dylan became talk of the town amid speculation ran rife about his drug addiction. Rhona is no stranger to addiction herself – battling her own painkiller addiction in 2010.
The episode also saw mention to Rhona’s more recent strife, as Marlon brought up her custody battle with Gus over baby Ivy. All ancient history, but these disparate threads from Rhona’s life are never far from the surface.
But what happened with Rhona’s own addiction to painkillers? And how did her war with Gus come to an end?
Village vet, Rhona Goskirk (Credit: ITV)
Who is Rhona Goskirk in Emmerdale?
She’s a proud mum, wife and best friend of fellow vet Vanessa Woodfield. Rhona is the daughter of Mary Goskirk and the late Barry Goskirk.
She works as a Veterinary surgeon at Emmerdale Veterinary Surgery.
Rhona is married to Marlon Dingle and is the ex-wife of Gus Malcolms, Paddy Kirk and Pierce Harris.
She has two children – her son Leo Goskirk, and baby daughter Ivy Malcolms. Rhona is also stepmum to Marlon’s daughter, April Windsor.
The character has overcome huge battles in her life, including an addiction to painkillers and nursing her husband Marlon back to health after he suffered a stroke.
Rhona is a survivor of domestic abuse, which she suffered at the hands of her ex-husband, Pierce.
Her world was further rocked in late 2023 when she discovered her former husband Gus Malcolms and his wife Lucy had used her frozen embryos without consent to conceive a child.

When did Rhona Goskirk join Emmerdale?
Rhona was introduced by Emmerdale series producer Steve Frost and made her debut on September 17 2001. She was initially brought in as a recurring character for the first couple of years before being reintroduced full-time in March 2010.
Rhona first appeared as a locum vet, who was covering for Zoe Tate when she was on holiday. She began a romance with local chef Marlon Dingle, but the relationship fizzled out and Rhona left the village.
Returning in June 2002 to cover for Zoe again, Rhona rekindled things with Marlon. It wasn’t a case of second time lucky though, and Rhona left again only six months later.
Leo was a tug of love between Rhona, Paddy and Marlon (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock)
The arrival of Leo
Rhona returned to the village in 2010. It turned out during her eight year absence, Rhona married a man called Gus Malcolms, but their union had ended in divorce.
She began a relationship with fellow vet Paddy Kirk, but found out she was expecting on/off boyfriend Marlon Dingle’s baby. During her pregnancy, Rhona’s unborn baby was diagnosed with Down’s Syndrome. In May 2011 Rhona gave birth to a baby boy, who she named Leo.
Four years later Rhona became broody for another baby. She and Paddy looked into adoption, but things fell apart when Rhona discovered Paddy had been playing away with Leo’s teacher, Tess Harris.
Unable to get over his betrayal, the couple called it quits.

Rhona’s abusive marriage to Pierce Harris
Tragedy struck when Tess was run over by Kirin Kotecha and subsequently died. Tess’s widower, Pierce Harris came to the village searching for answers about his wife’s death and discovered the truth about Tess’s affair with Paddy.
Pierce then turned his attentions to Rhona and the scorned duo embarked on an affair. He quickly moved in with Rhona, but his controlling nature soon became evident when he set about reorganising everything to his exacting tastes.
Pierce was also consumed with jealous paranoia over Rhona’s history with Paddy, which made memories from his own traumatic past resurface.
The couple married on April 24 2017, but what should have been a happy day ended in unimaginable horror when Pierce violently raped his new bride.
Rhona went to the police and they arrested Pierce. He stood trial in the July of that year and Rhona bravely attended court to give evidence against him. The jury found Pierce guilty and he was sentenced to five years in prison.
Sadly though, this wasn’t the end of Rhona’s nightmare…
The return of Pierce
In December 2019, Rhona discovered that Pierce was up for parole. The following month he made a dramatic return to the village and murdered Rhona’s then-boyfriend Graham Foster, who she was planning to move to France with.
Pierce framed Marlon Dingle for murder and started stalking Rhona from afar. Events came to a climax when Rhona came to Vanessa’s rescue after Pierce held her and young son Johnny hostage. Rhona live-streamed the situation to everyone in the Woolpack and Pierce was arrested.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment for his crimes and Rhona was finally free of him. He died of cancer in 2022.

Rhona Goskirk battled painkiller addiction in Emmerdale
In 2010, Rhona was prescribed medication to help with a back injury. This led to a crippling painkiller addiction which put her career – and life – at risk.
As a result of the dangerous habit, Rhona’s personality drastically changed. She risked her career by stealing pills from the surgery’s medicine cabinet in an attempt to get her fix.
Loyal pal Vanessa tried to help by getting Rhona to ration the supplies – but the situation only got messier when Vanessa confessed she’d fallen for Rhona.
After getting caught up with a dodgy dealer called Gary, Rhona’s wake-up call came as she collapsed and was rushed to hospital. The doctors informed Rhona her kidneys were on the verge of collapse.
Helping Ross with his painkiller addiction
The frightening news and threat of losing Leo prompted Rhona to go to rehab and get clean. Years later, she was able to support Ross Barton, who had become addicted to painkillers himself, and was spiralling out of control.
Recognising the signs, she encouraged Ross to get help and clean up.
Rhona’s other love interests
Rhona is married to chef Marlon, but her love life has certainly had its ups and downs.
After the trauma of her split with Paddy and ordeal at the hands of Peirce, Rhona fell for farmhand Peter Barton.
The couple got engaged in 2019, but the relationship faltered after Rhona was injured in a farming accident. She had to undergo a hysterectomy and was and told she’d never be able to have more children.

Marriage to Marlon
Rhona and Marlon reunited for the fourth time in 2021. They at first just enjoyed spending family time together, but that grew into something more and they decided to give things another go.
Both planned to propose to the other, but various mishaps meant it didn’t happen. Rhona eventually planned a surprise party for Marlon’s birthday and decided to pop the question there. Marlon got down on his knee at the same time and the couple got engaged.
However tragedy struck when Marlon went home to get the ring and had a stroke. He was found by daughter April and rushed to hospital.
It’s been a long road to recovery, but Marlon and Rhona have persevered. They finally married in August 2022 with Marlon surprising his bride by walking down the aisle.

Is Ivy really Rhona’s daughter?
Ivy was conceived using one of Rhona’s embryos that had been frozen when she was with Gus. He used them with his new wife Lucy without Rhona’s permission.
However, even though biologically Ivy is a part of Rhona, she doesn’t have any legal rights.
Baby Ivy arrived in the world safely, but sadly Lucy died due to complications from child birth. Acting on her maternal instincts, Rhona became attached to little Ivy and was desperate to be part of her daughter’s life.
When Gus announced his intention to move to France with Ivy, Rhona panicked and snatched Ivy – but found herself under arrest for kidnap and was forced to stand trial.
She was found not guilty and Gus was then made to stand trial for fraud. He was sentenced to eight years in prison, meaning Ivy went to live with Rhona and Marlon.
Marlon was close to divorcing Rhona after she turned on Gus in court during her victim impact statement and made sure he went down for a long time. Marlon felt it was too far and she was being selfish. He also got upset that she didn’t consult him and revealed it has been a pattern of their relationship.
They eventually agreed to work hard to save their marriage.

Rhona Goskirk’s past dragged up as April went missing in Emmerdale
On Christmas Day 2024, Rhona and Marlon’s worlds turned upside down when daughter April went missing. Rhona’s own past came back to haunt her when an article from the Hotten Corier implied she’d been to blame for April’s disappearance.
April since resurfaced, returning home to Marlon and Rhona earlier this year. However, she wasn’t alone – and her friend from the streets, Dylan, came looking for her a few weeks later. Dylan’s friendship with April has alarm bells ringing for Marlon and Rhona – particularly the latter, who realises how dangerous addiction can be.
