Kim Tate has drawn criticism from Emmerdale fans who are convinced that the character would never have stood for Dawn Fletcher and her scheming – ketamine or no ketamine.
In last night’s episode (Thursday, January 9), Kim fell victim to Dawn’s plot to get her to tell ‘the truth’ about Will’s dead. Drugged out on ketamine, Kim saw visions of Will, and admitted that, while she could have moved faster, she hadn’t killed him.

Kim hospitalised as Dawn drugs her
Kim was saved by Joe, who walked in to find Kim in a state, and Dawn asking her questions. As Kim suffered a seizure, the pair called an ambulance and she was rushed to hospital.
There she made amends with Dawn, who finally seemed to believe her claims that she’d had nothing to do with Will’s death.
But why is Kim standing for Dawn’s manipulation anyway?

The ‘old’ Kim Tate wouldn’t have stood for Dawn, Emmerdale fans remember
Writing on X as these scenes aired, viewers shared their dismay at the sight of Kim turning into a pushover at the machinations of Dawn.
“Why have you turned Kim Tate into such a pathetic wimp? The old Kim would have chucked Dismal Dawn out of her house,” asserted one fan.
“The old Kim would never tolerate this nonsense!!” another said.
“Classic Kim would never tolerate this,” concurred a third.
“Our home? Your home Kim. She’s just the freeloader. Kim of ‘old’ would never give her another chance though pity for Dawn Kim has this against her,” another said.
Has Kim become a pushover – or does she have something up her sleeve?

Last night’s episode of Emmerdale saw Dawn betray husband Billy by kissing Joe Tate. This came after a busy day for Dawn, who had drugged Kim Tate with ketamine in the hope of making her confess to Will’s murder.
However, Dawn’s plan didn’t work out as planned, and Kim remained steadfast in her innocence. She then suffered a seizure from the overdose, and a panicked Joe called an ambulance.
Thankfully, Kim seemed to make a full recovery, and the pair buried the hatchet in the hospital. Back at Home Farm, Dawn and Joe shared a moment on the sofa – and then a kiss.
With another affair seemingly set to rock the dales, we ask… is any couple safe?

Is any couple safe as Dawn and Joe kiss destroys another Emmerdale couple
Dawn’s betrayal of Billy comes only months after Cain and Ruby appalled a nation by sleeping together. Fans were left horrified by scenes in which Cain cheated on Moira while she lay in hospital.
Neither Moira nor Caleb are aware of Cain and Ruby’s betrayal yet, but it’s surely only a matter of time. Elsewhere, Doctor Liam picked Chas over Ella – only days after rekindling their romance – and Rhona felt betrayed when she learned that Laurel had attempted to kiss Marlon.
Other couples are still going strong – Paddy and Mandy, and Charity and Mack, for example, but given their histories, can we trust history not to repeat? Especially with fans clamouring for Ross and Charity to become a thing.
There’s always the newly loved-up John and Aaron… but with viewers holding out for a Robron reunion, we wouldn’t necessarily expect that one to last either.
Sam and Lydia, then… it’s all on you two.

Emmerdale viewers share dismay at ‘repetitive’ cheating storylines
Writing on X as the scenes aired, viewers shared their thoughts on Joe and Dawn‘s kiss. And many have had enough of it all.
“Meanwhile over in Emmerdale, we have another scandal! All this soap does is make people cheat,” wrote one viewer.
“And we have more cheating in Emmerdale,” said another.
“Here we go with the joe Dawn affair then,” sighed a third.

Lat night’s episode of Emmerdale saw Dawn Fletcher and Joe Tate finally give in to inevitability with a kiss. This not-so-shocking turn of events came after Dawn drugged his mum with ketamine in the hope of inducing a confession from Kim.
Convinced that Kim was behind Will’s death, Dawn spiked her morning cup of coffee and demanded answers. However, even under the influence – and seeing visions of dead hubby Will – Kim stuck to her story.
It was then that Joe walked in, finding Kim in a state and Dawn acting suspiciously.

Joe rushed Kim to hospital, where she made a quick recovery – and both covered for Dawn. Having apparently accepted Kim’s innocence, Dawn made her peace and agreed to let the whole murder accusation thing go.
Back at home (farm), Joe and Dawn shared a moment on the sofa… and then a kiss. Dawn pulled back and Joe assured her that it was okay, but it’s clear that there’s unfinished business between the pair.

Emmerdale fans despair at Joe and Dawn kiss
Reacting to the kiss on social media, fans shared their thoughts on Joe and Dawn. And nobody was surprised.
“Could’ve seen Dawn kissing Joe from 20 miles off,” wrote one dismayed fan.
“Dawn /Joe so predictable. Come on team you’re better than this,” said another.
“Dawn kissing joe was so obvious to happen,” a third wrote.
“So predictable they were going to kiss,” said a fourth.
Their hook-up may have been on the cards from the start, but where this relationship is headed is anyone’s guess.

Fans of Emmerdale are convinced that Sarah Sugden will fall pregnant following her one-night stand with Jacob. It was revealed last night (Thursday, January 9) that the pair had hooked up following their kiss on Wednesday.
However, Jacob cruelly dashed Sarah’s hopes for a relationship by giving her the cold shoulder afterwards. When they ran into each other in the cafe, he told her that he wasn’t ready for a relationship after Leanna – as he wasn’t ready to say goodbye to someone else he cares about.

Jacob hurts Sarah after one-night stand
Sarah was hurt, not least by the implication that he didn’t want to be with her because she’ll probably die young. Fuming, grandma Charity rushed over to tear a strip off of Jacob – who seems to be taking after dad David in all the worst ways.
But has the damage already been done? Some fans think that Sarah may have fallen pregnant with Jacob’s child.

Emmerdale fans predict pregnancy news for Sarah and Jacob
As the scenes aired, fans took to social news to share their thoughts on Sarah‘s future. And many wondered whether nature might take its course following their liason.
“So… how long before they say Sarah’s pregnant with Jacob’s kid? Or have they said she can’t have them?” asked one fan on X.
“Oh please don’t you dare write that Sarah is pregnant!!!” wrote another.
“She’s definitely gonna get pregnant then so they can have another ‘awareness’ story about how abortion can save lives,” a third said, via a Reddit comment thread.
“Most likely. She’s 19 and hasn’t had any children yet, so overdue, plus the village needs a constant supply of new Dingles,” a fourth agreed.

The Emmerdale rumour mill has been thrown into overdrive after the soap aired a series of flash-forwards depicting one character trapped under a sheet of ice. Further details have revealed that this follows a terrible car crash in which a number of characters wind up in grave danger, with one resident trapped beneath the ice.
But whose hand can be seen under the ice? With a number of exits announced, some have speculated that this could play into the upcoming departure of Leyla, Brenda or Ella from the soap – but there’s also Anthony, who is living on borrowed time after news of his abusing Ruby begins to spread.
“Think that might be Leyla, maybe a car crashes into the lake or the quarry pool ? Won’t be for the first time…!” suggested one fan.
“That’s Leyla under the ice, its how she gets killed off!” another wrote, confidently.

2. Anthony
While there isn’t much evidence to suggest it, many viewers are hoping that it’s resident monster Anthony Fox who finds his way into a watery grave.
“I hope it’s Anthony buried under the ice,” said one fan.
“Anthony’s hand!!” a second speculated.
A suitably horrible end to a truly vile figure – but is this how things play out?

3. Caleb
Another flash-forward showed Caleb lying in intensive care, fighting for his life. This could be a result of his falling in the water and getting trapped under the ice.
“What if Caleb, Ruby and Steph are driving, accidentally run over Leyla and have to hide it for some reason?” asked one fan. “As they play the blame game with each other or try to get their story straight, they crash into the frozen lake. Ruby and Steph get out, but Caleb gets stuck, probably because he was trying to save them.”

4. Fans hope that Dawn dies in the ice in Emmerdale
Some viewers have wondered whether Dawn’s ongoing vendetta with Kim Tate could see her dying while Kim looks on.
“I really, really, really hope that it’s dismal (Dawn) trapped under the ice. Kim sees her trapped but does nothing to help and dismal can see her through the ice, not lifting a finger,” said one fan.

5. Joe
He’s only been back in the dales a few months, but fans have speculated that Joe Tate might not have long left.
“I think it is Joe under the ice, and possibly Dawn put him there. She does think Joe caused Will’s death, and everyone hates Joe. He is already making more enemies than he had before. Joe could definitely be either under the ice or in the body bag,” wrote one fan.

Whose hand is under the ice in Emmerdale?
6. Billy
Another popular theory is Billy. And, given that the hand appears to belong to a married man, he’s a strong contender.
“I 100% think it’s Billy,” theorised one viewer.
“The hand looked like a man’s hand to me. My guess is Billy. They showed Dawn’s face before the flash scene and the hand has a wedding ring on it,” another speculated.
“My prediction of the person trapped under the ice, especially as the people shown just prior to the scene were Dawn and Joe. They both have an affair and Joe tries to bump Billy off but he manages to survive,” a third said.

7. Ella or Mandy
Lisa Riley, who plays Mandy Dingle, gave a hint that she and co-star Paula Lane were both involved in a night shoot, potentially to do with the icy stunt.
“Love this girl so much, Paula Lane,†Lisa wrote on social media as she shared a picture of them both. “Cheeky Christmas lunch together at before we have a night shoot at Emmerdale tonight. The Christmas spirit in here is sparkling.â€
This comes following news that Ella Forster will also be leaving the soap this year. Actress Paula Lane’s agency has said she will only be filming Emmerdale until February – meaning that Ella’s exit is imminent. Is she in terrible danger?

Emmerdale star Mark Charnock has revealed his fear that Marlon Dingle will be axed from the soap amid recent budget cuts. This comes amid a series of exits from the soap – including Roxy Shahidi, who plays Leyla, Paula Lane (Ella), Susan Cookson (Wendy) and Lesley Dunlop (Brenda).
And, out of fear that no-one is safe from the chop, actor Mark has opened up about his worry that Marlon could be next.
But does he have anything to worry about?

Mark Charnock reveals fears of axe for Marlon
In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Mark opened up about his time on the soap – which began in 1996, when Marlon first appeared in the Dales.
“What an amazing run of luck. I have loved every moment of my 28 years on the show. And what is so great about it is that it changes all the time, it’s never not surprising and keeps you on your toes – I love that,” he said.
He continued: “You can never take it for granted and you never know until you get your next contract.”
Mark added: “I am a terrible worrier. I find myself driving home muttering lines trying to remember how I played them out. I am a bit neurotic in that way but Emmerdale is such a great show to work on.”

Marlon goes viral in Emmerdale tonight
Tonight’s episode of the soap (airing Thursday, January 9), sees Marlon go viral… for all the wrong reasons. As his online plea for April’s safe return home gains traction, Mary learns that trolls have begun targeting Marlon’s video.
Marlon is shocked when he reads the vile comments attached to his video. Although he considers deleting his appeal, he ultimately decides to stand strong – and he and Rhona are more resolved than ever to bring April home, safe and sound.

Last night’s episode of Emmerdale saw two young village residents hook up as Jacob Gallagher and Sarah Sugden shared a kiss. This followed a tough week for the pair, as Sarah felt rejected by Jacob, who seemed to have moved on with new friends and a new girl.
As he embarrassed Sarah by talking about her illness in front of his new mates, Jacob then embarrassed her by giving her a hard time about drinking. Outside, he apologised and, as they shared a moment, the pair kissed outside of The Woolpack.
Fans were left shocked by Jacob’s actions, and were left wondering how old Sarah is supposed to be, anyway.

Emmerdale fans dismayed as Sarah hooks up with Jacob
Writing on X and Instagram as the scenes aired, viewers shared their thoughts on Sarah and Jacob‘s fledgling romance. And, while some thought it was sweet, others were less than impressed.
“Vic was way more suited than a child,” said one fan of Jacob’s new girl – referring to his most recent ex, Victoria.
“How old are they suppose to be?!” asked another.
“Why is Jacob always given love interests with an age gap? Sarah’s a fair few years younger than him, right?” said a third.
“Anyone else feel uncomfortable with Sarah and Jacob?” another asked.
But how old is Sarah anyway?
Fans have questioned the propriety of Jacob and Sarah’s relationship (Credit: ITV)
How old is Sarah in Emmerdale?
Sarah might seem younger due to her somewhat childish behaviour, but she’s actually 19 years old – having been born in 2005. Jacob, meanwhile, is almost 21, and was born in February 2003.
A couple of years difference, but not a problematic one. Jacob has a sad history when it comes to age-gap relationships – having being groomed by teacher Maya not long after his 16th birthday. Last year, he embarked on a relationship with his dad’s ex, Victoria, which, while consensual, raised a few eyebrows.

Dawn is determined to make Kim suffer the consequences for ‘murdering’ Will – but a new Emmerdale fan theory has suggested that she might be covering her own tracks instead. Did Dawn kill her dad?
This week’s episodes saw Dawn stumble across a video from her dad in which he accused Kim of his murder (before it had actually happened!). Dawn seemed to take Will at his word, and has been determined to expose Kim ever since.

Dawn spirals out of control as Kim tries to clear her name
In last night’s episode (Wednesday, January 8), Dawn was left furious after the police released Kim without charge. Getting drunk, she then scored herself a bottle of ketamine. But is it for personal use, or does she have something more sinister planned?
Fans of the soap have a theory… and they think Dawn may not be so innocent herself.

Dawn killed Will, Emmerdale fans predict
Writing on social media as the episode aired, fans shared their theories as to why Dawn has been acting so erratically. And some wondered whether she might have been the one who killed Will.
“Question now is…Did Dawn kill Will, if she did then why?” asked one fan.
“So Dawn killed Will,” another said, matter-of-factly.
“So has Dawn killed her dad? Dawn is gonna try and kill Kim? Dawn is going back on the drugs? Or plant the drug on Kim?” asked a third viewer.
“I can’t tell if its being implied that Dawn had some accidentally part of wills death, hence bein on Kim. Or if shes planning to take Kim down, then why ask the guy she “killed†forgiveness? Or is she gonna take it?” another wrote.

Joe Tate made a surprise return to Emmerdale on Christmas Eve, but fans suspect there is a sad reason for why he came back.
Joe left the Dales in 2018 and he was presumed dead. He was later revealed to be alive and living abroad.
Last year he was unmasked as being the mystery man working with Kim Tate‘s financial advisor in a bid to bring her down. But fans believe he has really returned home to die.

Joe Tate in Emmerdale
Joe is the son of Chris Tate and Rachel Hughes, and the half brother of Noah Dingle. His parents died when he was young, making his aunt Zoe Tate his legal guardian. Zoe, Joe and Zoe’s daughter Jean left the village in 2005.
He then returned as an adult 12 years later. At first he used a false name and started a relationship with Debbie Dingle as part of his revenge plan against Charity Dingle. Joe blamed Charity for driving his dad to suicide.
In 2018, it appeared as if Joe Tate had died after being punched by Cain Dingle and hitting his head. Graham put Joe into the boot of his car and later told Kim that Joe had been taken care of.
However, viewers saw Joe’s hand twitch. It was later revealed that Joe was not dead and was in fact living abroad off of Kim’s money.
Six years on, Joe has returned yet again. Still played by Ned Porteous, Joe made his big entrance on Christmas Eve. It was revealed that Joe was actually the one pulling the strings behind Will and Peter’s plans to bring down Kim.
Joe informed Kim that Will had been plotting behind her back. He also claimed that he and Peter had simply gone along with it as a joke to see how far Will would go.
After lying for Kim to the police about Will’s death, Joe appears to have his feet under the table at Home Farm. But fans are convinced there is more to his return after he was shown in pain, struggling to breathe and taking medication.

Joe Tate death fan theory
Fans took to social media to speculate about why Joe needs the medication. Joe also caused concern in Monday’s episode when he asked for painkillers for a really bad headache.
One fan wrote on Instagram: “I’m beginning to wonder if Joe came back to Emmerdale to die?!?!? A headache is never just a headache on a soap.”
A second fan said: “I think Joe got what Chris had.” Joe’s dad Chris was diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour and he later took his own life. A third fan replied to the comment, writing: “I bet if Joe’s got a brain tumour like Chris, he will be terminal like Chris. He kills himself like Chris did, to frame Kim for his ‘murder’ for revenge like Chris did with Charity.”
Over on X, another fan asked: “What IS wrong with Joe? I’m worrying if it’s caused by the head injury he sustained when he left, or if it’s a family thing with his heart?”
