What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Tom destroyed evidence and Jai and Charles came to blows in the village

Emmerdale tonight (Monday, October 7) saw Tom King retrieve his tablet containing the damning evidence. As he destroyed it, Carl watched on…

Meanwhile, Jai and Charles exchanged cross words in the village following the revelation that Laurel and Charles had slept together.

    Emmerdale tonight: Tom destroyed evidence

Tom spotted an opportunity to get Isaac alone. He used intimidation techniques before Isaac informed him that the tablet was at home and he knew where the spare key was kept.

Later, Tom let himself in to Butlers Farm, but he had to hide when Matty came in. At one point Tom lifted a candlestick and prepared himself to hit Matty over the head with it – because that is how normal people react. Fortunately, Matty left after a call from Moira.

Meanwhile, Belle asked Moira again if she could remember what she’d seen before her seizure, but the answer was still a firm no.

Walking home, Belle run in to Tom. Despite telling him he was breaking his bail conditions, Tom wouldn’t let up and told her she’d be the one going jail, not him.

‘Think about it for a minute,’ he said. ‘I’ll spell it out for ya, shall I? Local vet, professional member of the community, clean reputation, no criminal record. Not to mention the fact that there is zero evidence… Let me tell you this. You’re going to get sent down for what you’ve done to me and then they’ll lock you up for a very, very long time. Just watch.’

Talking of evidence, having got the tablet back, Tom set about destroying it. But he didn’t do this in the privacy of his home, oh no, he chose to do it outside in the middle of the village where anyone could watch him – including his young cousin Carl, who had a front row seat from the window. But will it help Belle?

    Charles and Jai clashed

Spotting Charles in the village, Jai couldn’t resist having a dig and quipped: ‘Managed to keep yourself out the congregation’s knickers?’

He also threatened to tell the bishop and insulted Laurel by suggesting she had a bit of a thing for vicars. Charles squared up to Jai, but they were stopped by Manpreet before things could get out of hand.

Manpreet then had her own thoughts to share with Charles and told him he should behave in a way befitting his position.

Later, Charles told Laurel that things were too complicated and that they shouldn’t see each other anymore. Laurel said that was fine – but her face didn’t get that memo and clearly said that she was absolutely not fine.

    Emmerdale tonight: 1-0 to Kim

Will invited Jimmy round for a lads day to try and clear the air following their recent falling out.

Kim returned home and remarked that the place smelt like a kebab shop. Determined to annoy Kim, Will opened his can of beer and it fizzled all over the mirror. Will found this more amusing than perhaps a man of his age should.

But regardless, this is Kim Tate we’re talking about and nobody gets one over on Kim. Walking down the stairs dressed to the nines, she opened the door and let her financial advisor Peter in.

‘I’ll be late, so apologies for any noise later. Not sure I’ll be able to keep it quiet,’ she told Will, while Jimmy sat there catching flies.

Emmerdale's Laurel and Arthur are arguing at home
Arthur admitted the truth about John (Credit: ITV)

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Arthur apologised to John for lying about sleeping with him. He said he did it as he wanted to seem mature. Laurel also apologised to John for not believing him.

But later at home, still reeling from being dumped by the vicar, Laurel told Arthur that an apology isn’t good enough and he needs to take responsibility for his actions.

Elsewhere, Billy gave Dawn some money, claiming it was from a client. But after she hugged him, he flinched in pain before it was revealed he had boxing gloves in his bag. He’s clearly hiding something and nothing stays secret in the Dales for long.

Jasmine Thomas star Jenna Coleman gives birth to first child

Former Emmerdale star Jenna Coleman has welcomed her first child with her boyfriend Jamie Childs, with the new parents being spotted taking their baby for a walk in London.

The 38-year-old actress, who played Jasmine Thomas in Emmerdale, first showed off a baby bump in June. She later showed off her bare bump on Instagram, writing: ‘Spent summer cooking.’

Jenna and Jamie have not officially announced the baby’s birth, but they looked the perfect happy family during their stroll.

    Emmerdale star announces pregnancy

Jenna met Jamie while filming Netflix’s Sandman – a series adapted from Neil Gaiman’s comic book series – and the couple have been together for four years.

There were rumours that the actress had tied the knot with Jamie, after she was spotted with a ring on her wedding finger. However, she has since appeared without the ring.

Jenna previously told Harper’s Bazaar: ‘Half of my friends have babies, and half don’t, so it doesn’t feel like a pressure. I want to take my time.’

She also joked about the amount of times she has given birth on screen within her role as Queen Victoria. She told Jonathan Ross: ‘I have had many a labour scene now, I’m running out of noises for labour scenes.

‘I’m sure one day maybe if I ever give birth I’ll realise I was totally wrong.’

Earlier this year she arrived at a celebratory dinner with a growing bump. She later commented on the pregnancy when she added a picture to Instagram showing her bare bump. She wrote: “‘pent summer cooking,’ and was inundated with messages of congratulations from fans.

    Jenna Coleman has a baby

Over the weekend, news broke that Jenna had given birth to her first child with her director boyfriend Jamie.

Looking glam in jeans, a red top and black sunglasses, Jenna was seen pushing a pram in North London, while Jamie walked beside her with the newborn strapped to his chest in a baby carrier.

The tot’s bright pink socks could be seen poking out from the sling – leading fans to speculate that the baby is a girl.

Who was Jasmine Thomas in Emmerdale?

Jasmine arrived in Emmerdale in June 2005 as the niece of Ashley Thomas. She was sent to stay with Ashley and her grandfather Sandy after she was suspended from school.

One of her big stories saw her form a close bond with Debbie Dingle, with the pair soon starting a relationship. Debbie’s dad Cain was not happy about this development and he seduced Jasmine.

In her job as a reporter, Jasmine investigated criminal gang the McFarlanes and discovered that local policeman Shane Doyle was on their payroll.

After Shane caught her looking for evidence, he tried to rape Jasmine, but Debbie came to her rescue. Shane turned his focus to Debbie, resulting in Jasmine attacking Shane and killing him.

The body was buried in the lake, but was later discovered. Jasmine planned to run away, but she returned to face the music and was sentenced to four years in prison.

Jasmine would have been released from prison by now, but her location is unknown.

  • Emmerdale fans ‘turn off’ as Moira forgets evidence that could help Belle: ‘This is turning into a farce now’

Emmerdale fans ‘turn off’ as Moira forgets evidence that could help Belle: ‘This is turning into a farce now’

Frustrated fans of Emmerdale found themselves infuriated by last night’s episode of the soap, in which Moira Dingle appeared to be on the verge of revealing damning evidence which could have proved Tom King’s evil once and for all.

This came as Moira discovered Tom’s tablet, loaded full of footage of an unsuspecting Belle. After finding Isaac with the tablet (having stolen it from little Carl), Moira had a nose about and soon discovered Tom’s secret files.

    Moira to the rescue… briefly

Realising that the footage was just what Belle needed to clear her name, Moira left a message on Belle’s phone, before heading out to find her.

Disaster struck when Moira found herself struggling to drive; having left her phone at home, she soon forgot why she’d gone out in the first place. Abandoning the car, she wandered off and suffered another terrible seizure.

When Mack found her, all was lost – and Moira didn’t remember anything from the preceding few hours, including the tablet and her message to Belle.

And, just like that, all the evidence was gone.

Emmerdale fans slam ‘farce’ as Moira forgets the evidence

As these scenes aired, fans took to social media to share their frustration.

“I was so angry last night watching this. After Moira, knowing what has happened to Belle, why did she not phone the police. Now he has his tablet back and smash it up. He is going to get away with everything and poor Belle will always be in fear. Even Jimmy is hiding evidence now. Yes I know this abuse goes on in homes all over the world but now it is getting silly the alarm bells are ringing. Why do the police not interview people in the village and talk to the mental health team to get Belle’s mental health records. She did give her social worker an insight of what is happening. Come on writers get back to the seriousness of the story,” wrote one fan on Instagram.

“Emmerdale highlighting such an important topic but turning it into a farce where nobody cares anymore,” said another on X.

“Sometimes I wish things in Soapland were just straightforward. For the love of God let Moira hand over the tablet, getting bored of the whole Tom/Belle situation. Just want to see Tom get his comeuppance now,” a third said.

“It’s getting on my nerves now, gone on for way to long,” bemoaned another.

Someone else said: “For the first time I am turning off.” Another agreed: “Me too. Domestic abuse story that should be done tastefully is turned into a farce.”

“I’ve turned it off,” said one more. “I knew the minute she had it that it would turn into a farce. It’s ridiculous and frustrating. Somebody let me know when this storyline is over.”

  • Emmerdale’s saddest animal deaths including Batley the dog and Minty the lamb

Emmerdale’s saddest animal deaths including Batley the dog and Minty the lamb

Emmerdale fans were left reeling back in August after it looked like Belle Dingle’s beloved dog Piper had been killed at the hands of her abusive husband Tom. Fortunately Piper is still alive and Tom had just tricked Belle into thinking she was dead.

In Emmerdale on Wednesday October 2, Moira was responsible for the death of all her son Isaac’s sheep.

Sadly, these aren’t the first animals to meet a sorry end in Emmerdale, though. We’ve rounded up the most heartbreaking (and shocking!) animal deaths over the years.

Aaron [Danny Miller] discovers Clyde injured,
Aaron was devastated when Clyde died (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock )

    Clyde – Aaron’s dog

Aaron Dingle – who was then known as Aaron Livesy – adopted Clyde in 2009 when he found him starving. Aaron did his best to train Clyde, who was volatile and even attacked Edna Birch’s dog, Tootsie. But eventually Clyde got in a fight with a bigger dog and lost a lot of blood. Paddy put Clyde down with heartbroken Aaron by his side.

    Daisy – Marlon’s dog

Marlon’s Dalmation Daisy originally belonged to his wife, Tricia. When Tricia died Marlon looked after the pooch though there was a hairy moment in 2012 when she was knocked over by Ashley Thomas.

That was nothing, though, compared to the shocking scenes in 2015 when alcoholic Laurel knocked over Daisy when she was drunk. Daisy died by the road, and Laurel tried to bury her to hide her involvement in the crime, only to be rumbled by Cain Dingle.

    Batley the dog in Emmerdale

    Batley – Edna Birch’s dog

Grumpy Edna could never hide her irritation at her fellow Emmerdale residents, and her disapproval of the antics in the village was clear! But Edna had a soft side and she adored her little dog, Batley.

Batley was a real character – much like Piper – and the fans were shocked when he was kicked by Edna’s horrible granddaughter Eve Jenson. Just a few weeks later, everyone was devastated when Batley fell ill and was put down.

The fans were so upset by the whole thing that Batley’s sad demise even scooped him Best Exit at the British Soap Awards in 2002!

    Jai and Tip

    Tip – Jai’s dog

Jai loved little rescue pooch Tip. But Tip met a sorry end when he was killed – accidentally – by Andrea Tate. Just like Laurel before her, Andrea tried to cover up the crime but was found out.

Turner's new secretary, Caroline Bates, wants the police to investigate the shooting of her dog. It looks like more trouble for Jackie.

    Bundle – Caroline Bates’s dog

In 1984, trigger-happy Jackie Merrick shot and killed Bundle in front of a group of horrified schoolchildren! Bundle had been bothering Jackie’s sheep but the Bates family were so upset they sued Jackie!

A ball of fire suddenly strikes the stables as Kim Tate, as played by Claire King, is showing the Windsors, Samson the horse. Watching them Frank Tate, as played by Norman Bowler, rushes to help as explosions go off around them, narrowly saving Kim from her caravan before it explodes.

Dark Star – Kim Tate’s horse

Horse-lover Kim adored her beautiful horse Dark Star, but he was killed in 1993 when the plane crashed on Emmerdale  village – which was then called Beckindale.

    Smokey – Seth Armstrong’s dog

Seth’s beloved pet Smokey also met his fate on the night of the plane crash when burning rubble destroyed the Pollards’ house. Elizabeth Pollard had been looking after Smokey that evening, but had stormed out after a row with husband Eric. Poor Elizabeth was also killed that night.

Paddy Kirk [[DOMINIC BRUNT] prepares to euthanize Hamish
Hamish was put to sleep by Paddy (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock)

Hamish – Belle Dingle’s Shetland pony

Belle thought the world of her little pony Hamish. He had to be put down when he got ill, with Belle sobbing by his side. Piper is buried next to Hamish, close to the Dingles’ cottage Wishing Well.

    Steve – Lydia’s cockatoo

Lydia’s cockatoo was fond of biting people and was known to be grumpy, but Lydia loved him. She was terribly upset in 2017 when he escaped through an open window and flew into some power lines, which killed him instantly. In fact, Lydia was so upset that she had Steve stuffed!

We’re not sure where he is now, which is probably for the best.

Cain tickles Minty's chin as Isaac holds the lamb
Minty was Isaac’s best friend (Credit: ITV)

    Minty the lamb

Young Isaac Dingle was horrified when he did a farm visit with his mum and discovered the runt of the lambs would be killed. He managed to persuade dad Cain to let him have Minty as a pet. Isaac grew very attached to him and the whole village joined in to search for Minty when he went missing.

Sadly, Minty didn’t make it, as Moira had warned, he just wasn’t strong enough to survive. Isaac was sure his mum had killed his pet, but she insisted she hadn’t. Though given Moira’s behaviour now, we’re not so sure!

  • As Tom demands Belle comes to see him, fans left furious over story direction ‘the writers should be ashamed of themselves’

As Tom demands Belle comes to see him, fans left furious over story direction ‘the writers should be ashamed of themselves’

Fans of Emmerdale have been left feeling annoyed at the direction the soap has taken with the Tom and Belle storyline, with one viewer insisting the writers should be ‘ashamed of themselves’.

This year has seen the long running story of Belle Dingle’s abusive marriage to Tom King. Fans thought Belle was finally free of Tom, but recent events have brought them together again.

Emmerdale fans have described recent scenes as “ridiculous” and want to see an end to the “pantomime”.

What happened between Tom and Belle in Emmerdale?

Following months of coercive abuse, Belle finally ended her marriage to Tom earlier this year.

Sadly, this hasn’t been the end of the torture for Belle, as Tom continued to exert his power. One such time saw him give away Belle’s beloved dog Piper and pretend the dog had sadly passed away.

More recently, Tom has started a new relationship with Amelia Spencer. But he’s still hellbent on getting revenge on Belle.

Amelia, who believes Tom genuinely loves her – bless – arranged to meet Belle. But it was a set up and Belle found herself alone with Tom. The confrontation ended with Tom being left for dead with an axe in his back.

It was later revealed that Tom was alive. He had managed to remove the axe and walk out into the village.

In Monday’s episode (September 30), Tom woke up in hospital. Dumb Amelia and even dumber Jimmy kept pushing for Belle to be held accountable. But Tom pretended he couldn’t remember who attacked him.

Later, when alone, he pulled his mobile from beneath his bed and called Belle. He ordered her to visit him or else he’d tell everyone what she did.

Fans are not happy with this latest turn in events and think things are getting “ridiculous”.

    Emmerdale fans slam writers

One fan wrote on Instagram: “The writers should be ashamed of themselves. It was supposed to be helping victims of domestic violence, but it’s anything but that. The whole storyline has been a shambles, but now it’s gone beyond that.”

Others agreed, with a second fan writing on X: “This was such a good storyline! I don’t understand why you’ve turned it into some kind of farce.” A third viewer said: “You really have made a absolute dogs dinner of this, what started out as a serious issue has now descended into a ridiculous pantomime.”

Another fan added: “The way the writers have dealt with the Belle and Tom storyline is nothing short of a disgrace…”

Other fans are angry at the way Amelia and Jimmy are being portrayed, with some insisting that nobody can be that stupid. “Amelia sounds more and more insane than ever,” said one, while another said: “I know Jimmy’s never been a Mastermind champ but he’s not this thick surely?!”

Earlier this year, Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw told Entertainment Daily and other media that the Belle and Tom storyline is “going to run until the end of this year”, so fans don’t have to suffer for too much longer.

Tom woke up as Belle worried about her future – here’s what happened in Emmerdale tonight

Emmerdale tonight saw Tom wake up in hospital. Will he tell the police who was responsible for putting him there?

Meanwhile, Moira’s behaviour continued to worry her family and Aaron was questioned by the police over some stolen watches.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight, Monday, September 30.

    Emmerdale tonight: Tom woke up

Amelia and Jimmy continued to share one brain cell as they waited for news on Tom at the hospital. A doctor soon put them out of their misery when she informed them that Tom was improving.

With police waiting to talk to Tom, Amelia decided to get her side of things across and informed them that it was Belle. Jimmy suggested it could have been Cain, but Amelia quashed that idea and told him Cain was definitely in Scotland.

“I’m Amelia, his girlfriend, which Belle was really jealous about,” Amelia told the police – with a straight face no less.

Amelia told the police that Belle wanted to punish Tom, with Jimmy adding: “It doesn’t take a genius to work out what happened.” Clearly.

Later, once Tom was awake, Jimmy asked Tom if it was Belle. But Tom didn’t respond. When questioned by the police, Tom claimed that he couldn’t remember what happened. “It’s blank,” he said. But he said he thinks he was meeting someone.

Idiot Jimmy continued to throw Belle’s name around and told Tom not to cover for her.

Once Jimmy had left, it was revealed Tom did in fact remember what happened. He called Belle and ordered her to visit him by 1pm tomorrow. He warned her not to tell anyone or he would tell the police everything.

Will Belle ever be rid of Tom?

    Charity covered for Belle

Sam, Lydia and Charity continued to worry about Belle. When Lydia told Belle that Tom was out of danger, Belle said she might as well hand herself in.

However, Charity pointed at herself and said: “You have an alibi now.”

When police questioned Belle, Charity claimed her and Belle had been on a long walk at the time of the attack.

The police asked Belle about her relationship with Tom and she simply responded: “He was difficult to live with.” Which must be a contender for understatement of the century.

The Dingles aren’t the brightest bunch and didn’t quite get their story straight, with Lydia and Charity contradicting each other. After Lydia said they were all fond of Tom, Charity said the police could take their pick of potential suspects because ‘he’s not very popular.’

Will that slip up come back to bite them?

    Moira’s family continued to worry

Moira was annoyed when Matty arrived with his bags and told her he was staying for a while. She claimed she didn’t need a babysitter, but Matty lied that he was only there because he was sick of Amy and Amelia’s drama.

When Mack came in to check on her under the guise that he needed a drink, Moira continued to insist she was fine and didn’t need to be checked up on.

She then promised her young son Isaac that he could have his own sheep. Mack told her it wasn’t a good idea, but she forged ahead with the plan.

In an ominous moment, Isaac asked his mum: “And you won’t kill them?” She promised him that no she wouldn’t… oh dear.

Later, Matty and Mack discovered Moira had left the house alone and immediately went searching for her. Mack found her returning from the farm up the road where she’d placed an order for Isaac’s sheep.

Moira told Mack to stop treating her like a child and then told Matty to pack his bags and go home because she was fine. But is she really?

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

    Police questioned Aaron

Aaron and John continued to flirt – their own form of flirting anyway. John gave us all a bit too much information when he told Aaron: “I can’t promise you a good night sleep.” Thanks, John.

Later, John watched on as a policeman approached Aaron. He asked him if he knew about any stolen watches as his car had been seen near the scene of the crime.

A clearly guilty Aaron denied all knowledge and happily showed the policeman the boot of his car, which was empty bar a couple of tools. Where has he hidden them?

Who was Debbie Dingle? A look at her turbulent life in the Dales

In recent Emmerdale scenes, Cain temporarily left the Dales to go stay with his daughter Debbie and father Zak, after learning about Zak’s deteriorating health.

Debbie moved to Scotland in 2019, with Zak following in 2023 after suffering mobility issues.

But who was Debbie Dingle and what did she – or rather, what didn’t she – get up to while in the village?

    Debbie Dingle arrives in Emmerdale

A young Debbie arrived in the village in 2002 as a foster child for Paddy and Emily Kirk after her adoptive mother Pat fell ill. She was 13 at the time.

When Pat died, the move became permanent. Debbie soon befriended the Dingle family and gave Cain a big shock when she showed him a picture of her biological mum. He recognised her – it was Charity.

Charity remained in denial at first and kept Debbie a secret from her husband Chris Tate. But they soon bonded and Debbie moved in with Charity and Chris.

Later in 2003, Charity admitted that Cain was Debbie’s father, leading to the three of them growing close. This angered Chris and he became aggressive towards Debbie resulting in her moving in with the Dingles.

    Teenage pregnancy

Debbie started a secret relationship with Andy Sugden and lost her virginity to him in 2004. Debbie later discovered she was pregnant at 15. She hid the pregnancy from everyone and planned to abandon the baby after giving birth.

However, after giving birth in a shed, assisted by Emily and Daz, Debbie had a change of heart. But she didn’t initially take to motherhood and constantly left daughter Sarah with Emily.

Later that year, Debbie shocked her family when she gave Sarah to Emily, who was leaving the area. Debbie felt Sarah would have a better life with Emily and showed no remorse for her actions, which angered the Dingles.

It was 10 months before Sarah was returned to her family. But Debbie didn’t want to be a mum, so Sarah went to live with Andy.

    Relationship with Jasmine

Debbie became close to Jasmine Thomas and later realised she liked her as more than a friend.

After confessing her love for Jasmine, the two started dating. But, in order to hurt his daughter, Cain seduced Jasmine, who was confused about her sexuality, resulting in Debbie and Jasmine breaking up.

They later reconciled and Debbie got her revenge on Cain by telling him that Jasmine had had an abortion.

Debbie was also involved in the killing of Jasmine’s boyfriend Shane Doyle. Shane attempted to rape Jasmine, and upon hearing her screams, Debbie came to her rescue and knocked Shane unconscious. But he woke up and grabbed Debbie. Jasmine then beat him repeatedly, resulting in his death.

Debbie and Jasmine decided to go on the run together, but Debbie was caught and charged with Shane’s murder. Jasmine later returned and admitted to the crime, though Debbie was still charged with perverting the court of justice.

    Relationships with Michael and Cameron

Debbie started a relationship with a man named Michael, but was dismayed to discover he was engaged. He told Debbie that he loved her and had called off the wedding.

However, Cain discovered this wasn’t true and Cain and Debbie turned up at the wedding to discover the bride was her mum Charity!

Debbie later met Cameron, but their relationship faced many tests – notably because Sarah was ill and needed a bone marrow transplant.

Debbie and Andy decided to try and have a baby together in order to create a donor for Sarah. This idea didn’t thrill Cameron. And he was furious when he later discovered that it wasn’t done via artificial insemination, but rather conventional methods.

Cameron went on to have an affair with Chas and was responsible for the murders of Carl King and Gennie Walker.

The end result was the Woolpack Siege, which saw Cameron threaten to shoot anyone who dared leave.

    Pete and Ross Barton

Debbie started a relationship with Pete Barton and even proposed to him. But she later started an affair with his brother Ross.

Debbie planned to run away with Ross, but when she discovered he was the father of her mum’s baby, she ordered Cain to get rid of him.

She later married Pete, but he discovered her affair with Ross.

Following a helicopter crash, which saw Debbie end up in intensive care, she tried in turn to have a relationship with both Pete and Ross, but ultimately ended up leaving the village for France alone.

She returned the following year, before leaving for Scotland for good in 2019.

    Who played Debbie Dingle?

Charley Webb has played Debbie since the character was introduced.

The actress was married to fellow Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden for 15 years before the couple announced their split last year. They have three children together.

Since leaving Emmerdale, Charley has appeared in a few TV shows. Most notably The Long Shadow, in which she starred in four episodes.

Fans do a complete U-turn over Mack as they hail him ‘hero’ of the episode

Fans of Emmerdale have done a complete U-turn over Mackenzie Boyd following the latest episode.

Previously, Mack has rubbed viewers up the wrong way. Mainly because of his cheating on Charity with Chloe and his treatment of both women.

Fans complained about Mack continuing to grate, even going so far as to beg for him to be killed off.

But is a redemption arc on the way for Mack?

    What happened in Emmerdale?

Following the shocking barn fire, as she recovered in hospital, Moira was given the news that she had a brain tumour.

Cain behaved like a petulant child and refused to be by her side, insisting he couldn’t handle it. He eventually had a change of heart, though his anger continued to rear its head.

In last night’s episode (September 16), not satisfied with the doctor’s advice – as presumably Cain knows better – he tipped up a table and stormed out.

Moira’s brother Mack was the unlikely source of calm, as he shared some strong words with his brother-in-law, telling him to “get a grip and be better”.

Mack told Cain: “She will worry that you’ll throw another selfish tantrum because you’re too weak to handle it. She needs to know what she’s up against. How can she do that when she’s too busy worrying about you?

“We’re all struggling here, but this is the start of what Moira has to deal with.”

Emmerdale fans enjoyed the confrontation and have lauded Mack for standing up to Cain.

Emmerdale fans call Mack a hero

Following the episode, Emmerdale fans took to Instagram to express their joy at Mack’s words.

“Mackenzie was the star of tonight’s episode,” wrote one fan, while another added: “Got to respect Mack tonight.”

A third fan said: “Mac tonight was…” accompanied by three emojis – fire, applause and a hand making the OK sign.

Another fan was in agreement, writing: “Well said Mackenzie.”

With fans having done a U-turn on Mack, could Moira’s diagnosis be the source of some good and be the making of Mack?

A history of violence: What happened between Tom and Chas

The residents of Emmerdale are starting to cotton onto Tom King‘s abuse of wife Belle, with Chas being the latest to learn what he’s been up to .

Like Charity and Cain before her, Chas immediately believed Belle’s version of events, and quickly leapt to her defence as Jimmy and Amelia stressed over missing Tom.

As they bickered over whether or not Belle is telling the truth, Chas and Charity reminded Jimmy of Tom’s none-too savoury history in the Dales. In particular, his stalking of Chas a few years ago.

But what went down between Chas and Tom?

    Tom terrorises Chas

Tom made Chas’s life a misery in the wake of his dad Carl’s death. Blaming her for the murder (in spite of it being Cameron who had delivered the killing blow), Tom made it his life’s mission to bring Chas to task.

During this time, Tom sent Chas a series of sinister images in the post – depicting her and Carl together, with her eyes scratched out. He would also call the Woolpack from a withheld number, terrorising her over the phone.

    Tom unmasked as Chas’s stalker

His campaign of targeted stalking escalated as he threw a bottle at her outside of the pub, leaving Chas with minor injuries.

He was caught out while trying to graffiti the walls of her home. After being disturbed by Gabby Thomas, Chas and Jimmy gave chase – and unmasked him as her stalker.

It was then that Tom revealed he wanted revenge on her for his father’s death. Chas’s apologies and pleas that she had only been acting in self-defence fell on deaf ears.

That anyone would believe Tom King at all is particularly surprising given his behaviour towards Chas in the past. How quickly people forget!
