Emmerdale writers offered thanks by fans over Mandy and Paddy wedding episode

Grateful fans of Emmerdale have thanked the soap’s writers for its joyful Mandy Dingle and Paddy Kirk wedding episode last night.

Viewers tuned in as Mandy and Paddy successfully tied the knot in spite of his dad Bear’s meddling – outing her as a financial dominatrix to a baffled Paddy.

Paddy and Mandy’s happily ever after was in doubt for a while… as it appeared as though Paddy had called the whole thing off.

Well, it wouldn’t be a Dingle wedding without a little drama on the day!

Mandy rushed over to see her husband-to-be, who was surprisingly accepting of her side-hustle. It was the lies which proved to be the sticking point.

Following a sweet heart-to-heart, the pair managed to work things out, and the wedding was back on!

After rushing back to the church and talking Charles around, the pair were married in a joyful (if super speedy) counterpoint to the misery and upset surrounding them.

Emmerdale fans praise ‘brilliant’ episode as Paddy and Mandy are married

As the soap shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the wedding, fans took to Instagram to share their appreciation for the episode. The consensus is in – and it’s good to see a bit of cheer for once.

“Brilliant episode, well done all about time we had a lighter episode,” wrote one overjoyed fan.

“Only Mandy Dingle could get away with that dress. Funny episode especially the vows well done all. The laugh that everyone needs right now in the cruel world we live in,” said another.

“Brilliant episode, so happy they are getting married. Love them both they are well suited,” a third fan shared.

“Love it, Mandy and Paddy together at last. They’re made for each other, nice to have a lighter note in the midst of the Belle and Tom storyline,” another viewer agreed.

“That was a brilliant episode, so funny and happy and the dress was amazing,” said a fourth.

A fifth agreed: “I like that it was sorted out by Mandy and Paddy simply having an adult conversation, well done writers.”

“The best episode, so great to have the humour back,” added a sixth.

Mandy Dingle was exposed for her double life as a financial dominatrix in Emmerdale last night. Bear revealed the truth to Paddy, Chas and Marlon by showing them Mandy working her magic on screen.

Paddy was heartbroken, Bear made his feelings perfectly clear and Chas and Marlon were shocked at how Mandy was making her money.

But why are they reacting so strongly, wonder fans? It’s not like she’s doing anything so bad, is it?

Mandy is exposed by Bear in Emmerdale

On Tuesday night (August 13) Bear overheard Mandy mid-findom session over the karaoke speakers at PampaManda. Disgusted, on Wednesday August 14, he then visited Mandy and gave her an ultimatum: tell Paddy or he would.

Mandy begged Bear to keep quiet. She promised she would give the whole thing up. He agreed, but he didn’t trust her, so set a trap to prove himself right.

Bear posed as a client and soon enough, Mandy called him and started shouting at him. Bear pretended he couldn’t get his camera working, but handed the phone to Chas, Paddy and Marlon in the back room of the Woolpack. They all saw exactly what Mandy was getting up to.

Paddy was stunned and said he wasn’t sure if the wedding could go ahead. Bear has made his feelings very clear that he doesn’t think it should.

What’s Mandy really doing wrong in Emmerdale?

Fans can’t really see the big deal with what Mandy’s doing and think Bear is totally overreacting.

“Bear mate, she’s telling blokes online they’re naughty boys whilst holding a whip, she’s not [bleeping] them in lay-bys!” said one.

Another added: “[Bleep] off, Bear. She’s a consenting adult, raking in cash, and if you’re so concerned, she’s keeping her clothes on.”

“Mandy has done nothing wrong, how she makes her money is her business, she isn’t even getting her baps out. It’s nobody’s business,” declared a third.

A fourth agreed: “Oh for Christ’s sake, she’s not Human Trafficking! This is ridiculous.”

“What.. don’t be an idiot she is being sensible and clearing her debt not leaching of you, you should not be so daft,” someone else directed their comment to Paddy.

A sixth questioned: “Why are they all so horrified?? It’s pretty harmless – and a good earner!”

Do Paddy and Mandy get married?

Tonight (Thursday August 15) oblivious Mandy is getting ready for her big day. She has no idea back at home, Paddy has called the wedding off.

Bear arrives at the salon to tell her the news – and he sure does relish it. Mandy is distraught and she rushes off to see Paddy and try to save their day.

Can he forgive her however? Or are Paddy and Mandy very definitely over for good this time?

Bear trying to ruin Mandy and Paddy’s wedding out of jealousy because he wants Mandy for himself, declare fans

Bear Wolf exposed Mandy Dingle’s secret sex work to Paddy in Emmerdale last night – and he didn’t exactly do it subtly. He claims he’s trying to save his son from getting hurt again, but fans think there’s another reason Bear is so against Paddy marrying Mandy: he’s jealous.

Before Pads and Mands got back together Bear was holding a torch for Mandy himself. At the time she was hopelessly in love with Paddy, but just holding off acting on it due to his recent break-up with Chas and subsequent decline in mental health.

So is Bear still after Mandy for himself?

    Bear exposes Mandy in Emmerdale

After he overheard Mandy mid-findom session over the karaoke speakers at PampaManda, Bear was disgusted. He went away and researched exactly what she was doing and even found her profile page.

Torn over what to do, Bear stayed quiet at first. But then he visited Mandy and told her to tell Paddy or he would. Mandy desperately tried to persuade Bear to keep quiet. She promised she would give the whole thing up now she’d paid her debts. He reluctantly agreed.

However it wasn’t long before he totally changed his mind and set Mandy up to be exposed. With Paddy gushing over how much he loved Mandy and how she was the love of his life, Bear decided Paddy needed his eyes opening. So he posed as a client and Mandy called him and started shouting. Bear led Paddy, Marlon and Chas through to the back room of the Woolpack, where he showed them exactly what Mandy was getting up to.

Couldn’t have just taken Paddy for a quiet word, eh? Had to do with in front of his ex-wife?

Paddy was stunned and said he wasn’t sure if the wedding could go ahead. Tonight Bear is relieved and relishes in being the one to tell Mandy, who is all ready for her big day, that it’s off.

As Mandy rushes to save her relationship, does Bear have an ulterior motive for being so against their marriage?

Is Bear jealous of Paddy and Mandy?

Fans certainly seem to think so, they are pretty convinced Bear wants Mandy for himself and that’s why he sabotaged their big day.

“Love Mandy she is funny and only trying to earn some money to clear her debts. I think Bear is doing that cause a while back he thought she was interested in him but she wasn’t,” mused one on social media.

Another added: “Let’s not forget Bear tried it on with Mandy a while back!! Is this because he’s jealous he didn’t get her?”

“It was only five seconds ago since Bear wanted to get into Mandy’s leopard print undies. Surprised he didn’t sign up to her page,” joked one more.

Will Bear succeed in splitting them up? Or will Paddy and Mandy get married? All will be revealed on Thursday August 15.

  • A timeline of Mandy and Paddy and their romance – from first wedding to cheating, a break-up and sleazy lies

A timeline of Mandy and Paddy and their romance – from first wedding to cheating, a break-up and sleazy lies

Mandy and Paddy may or may not be getting married in Emmerdale after her explosive secret came out just hours before the wedding.

It’s hardly surprising it all went wrong after weeks of listening to Paddy gush about how marrying Mandy was like coming home again and how she was the true love of his life. Laying it on this thick is always a huge neon sign in Soapland that something bad is about to happen.

But it’s not the first time things have soured between ‘true loves’ Mandy and Paddy. In fact their first marriage ended so badly, we’re quite surprised they’re going there again.

    Here’s their complete history.

Emmerdale: Mandy and Paddy as star-crossed lovers

In 1995 Mandy Dingle arrived in Emmerdale to live with her uncle Zak after being disowned by her dad, Caleb. Then, two years later in February 1997 Paddy arrived in the village and Mandy fell in love with him.

Things hit a snag when Paddy was overheard ridiculing the Dingle family and Mandy ordered him out of their house. After a stint working in Ireland, Pads came home, apologised and they were back on.

But Paddy’s mother Barbara disapproved of Mandy. Convinced Mandy would only make her son miserable, she paid Mandy to marry her cousin Butch who was hopelessly in love with her. Clearly not so in love with Paddy she couldn’t be bought, Mandy and Butch married in November 1998.

However Mandy was unable to ignore the fact she loved Paddy. They began an affair and she was disowned by the Dingles for cheating on Butch. But before too long, vet Paddy stepped in to deliver surprise baby Belle Dingle for Zak and Lisa and all was forgiven.

Following her divorce from Butch in 1999, Mandy and Paddy got married.

    Happiness didn’t last…

Before too long, Mandy started taking trips to Southampton to care for her sick dad. Paddy decided to surprise her there, but found her in a clinch with Caleb’s carer, Neil. Oops.

Mandy followed him back to Emmerdale and in a special two-hander episode opened up about her affair. She insisted she’d only slept with Neil once and it was because she had felt so worthless in past relationships.

Things got violent and we saw a side to Paddy we’d never seen before when Mandy challenged him. She asked him if he would have done the same if the roles were reversed and the pressure caused him to snap. He pinned her against a wall and screamed in her face that he hated her.

Mandy realised their marriage was over, but soon Paddy begged her to stay. Things escalated and they headed to the bedroom. However despite sleeping together, Paddy couldn’t act like he’d forgiven her.

When he then realised she was only with him out of guilt and she actually loved Neil, he ordered Mandy to leave. She was devastated, but didn’t take much persuading. By 2001, she realised she wanted Paddy back. But seeing him with Emily and happy, she decided to leave him be.

A reunion for Mandy and Paddy in Emmerdale

Mandy returned 18 years later in 2019. Paddy was happily married to Chas, Mandy insisted she wasn’t there to come between them and all seemed well. Mandy even got engaged to her ex, Paul Ashdale, but he died on their wedding day and then she found out he had been abusing son Vinny, so the less said about him the better.

By 2022, Chas was exposed for having an affair with Al Chapman and Paddy spiralled into depression following their split. Mandy supported him and they eventually slept together again. It was clear Mandy had big, big feelings for him by this point, but he then went missing and planned to take his own life.

Mandy felt responsible, but Marlon and Chas managed to track him down and get him the help he needed before he was able to do anything. He was on the road to recovery, but nowhere near ready for a relationship with Mandy.

So she pined in private and outwardly played the caring friend. By June 2023, Mandy had got her wish and she and Paddy were back on.

    ‘Cheating’ with Chas

Things hit a sticky patch when Chas was diagnosed with breast cancer and Paddy stood by her side. Unfortunately he took that support a bit too far when he kissed her.

Paddy came clean immediately and Mandy forgave him, but she then found out Chas ended the kiss not Paddy and heartbroken Mandy refused to have anything more to do with Paddy.

But Paddy managed to win her back with a grand proposal dressed as Prince Charming and they began planning their second wedding.

Second time lucky for Mandy and Paddy in Emmerdale?

It became obvious after a while that Mandy was not into planning the wedding. Then it was revealed that was because she is in mountains of debt and with a struggling salon, couldn’t afford to pay it off.

But she refused to tell Paddy, determined a Dingle woman sorts her own problems.

And sort them she has, by becoming a financial dominatrix! She shouts at men online and they pay her money for it. In just days Mandy has paid off her debts and made a killing, but then Bear found out after overhearing her at work – ew!

Although he agreed he would keep quiet, when he realised she was still doing it, he outed her to Paddy who then calls the wedding off.

As Mandy races to save her big day, will these two get wed a second time? Or are all the signs still there this will never be a lasting match?

Emmerdale tonight: Mandy’s wedding in jeopardy as Paddy finds out her sex secret and Victoria went a fish finger too far with John

Emmerdale tonight saw Bear expose Mandy to Paddy even after he promised not to. Seeing his bride-to-be selling herself online shook Paddy to the core as he declared he didn’t know if there would be a wedding.

Meanwhile, Victoria’s fish finger lunch impressed John, but her constant pushing to be a faaaamily did not, so he’s off. Or is he?

Here’s what went down in Emmerdale on Wednesday August 14.

    Bear exposed Mandy

Now he knows Mandy’s secret, Bear questioned Paddy over whether he was doing the right thing. “It’s like going back to where I belong,” Paddy said of Mandy – sort of forgetting it didn’t work out last time.

Meanwhile Tracy caught Mandy mid-findom and was shocked. But Mandy insisted she’d almost cleared her debts and it was all brilliant. Blimey, three days work to clear off several credit cards plus the tax man – sign us up!

Bear then confronted Mandy, who desperately tried to explain herself. She begged him not to tell Paddy, and he did agree so as not to break his son’s heart. But he made Mandy promise she would pack it in immediately.

She agreed. But then she got one more offer of £300 from a new client and decided to take it to clear off that last bit of debt. Oh Mandy. If only she hadn’t got greedy, Paddy might never have known, but in fact the client was Bear who was trying to make sure she had quit like she promised.

When he realised she hadn’t, he showed Marlon, Chas and crucially Paddy what Mandy was doing. They were stunned and Paddy said he wasn’t sure he could go ahead with the wedding.

    Victoria wouldn’t leave John alone

Victoria confided in Pollard about John’s attitude. But as they talked by Jack’s grave, Eric told her not to give up on him yet. So she gave him fish finger sandwiches for lunch and encouraged him to play football with Harry.

It seemed John was softening – apparently he’d eat fish fingers every day if he could. But then Victoria pushed again and it all went wrong. The offer of a beer and family movie night was a step too far. John decided he was done with life at Vic’s and he was off.

They way Victoria has been acting, we can’t really blame him.

    Tom’s still lurking

Tom was lurking in the café, still bombarding Belle with texts. Stupidly, this time she replied and told him they needed to talk and that she was coming home tomorrow.

Tom immediately assumed it meant they were getting back together and short of packing his things and moving himself back home, he settled for letting himself in and sitting smugly with a glass of wine thinking he’d won.

Let’s hope a reunion is not what Belle wants to talk about. And him suffering a slow, painful death is.

    Angel got aggressive

Jimmy and Nicola were worried sick about Angel, thinking someone had beaten her up and left her with serious injuries. Jimmy even decided to drive down to Bristol to find out exactly what was going on.

But he got halfway there and got a call to say what we already knew: Angel had started the fight, not been the victim. Jimmy said he’s fearful his darling angel was being turned into a bad girl inside, but we’re afraid to say we think she was on that road waaay before she went down!

Emmerdale tonight: John’s still moody, Moira’s still acting strangely, and Mandy’s still in debt

Emmerdale tonight saw John Sugden stranded in the village. And if we thought we might learn a bit more about him, we were wrong. All we know is he’s still moody and he’s still miserable.

Elsewhere, Mandy became a findom and Moira displayed yet more personalities.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale on Friday August 9.

John squares up angrily to Aaron again
John is no one’s friend, apparently (Credit: ITV)

    John was mean

Despite his stand-offish nature, it didn’t stop Tracy, Chas and Nicola ogling John while he was out for a run. Aaron came along and was snippy about him, meaning Chas immediately worked out something had happened. So Aaron confessed and told his mum it brought everything that happened with Robert back and he couldn’t go there again.

Meanwhile, Victoria was still playing hostess with the mostess, determined to kill John with kindness. But snappy, moody John wasn’t interested in playing happy families. Especially when Sarah turned up wanting to meet her newfound uncle. John then confessed his mum had written a letter to Jack, but he never replied. Victoria was insistent that Jack can’t ever have got the letter.

John stomped off. He then had another encounter with Aaron. He called Aaron “paranoid and a bit of a whiner” – he does have a point. But Aaron didn’t like it and tried to hit him again. However, John once again came out on top. Probably time for a new tactic other than violence.

So, so far we know John has the Sugden moodiness down, but definitely none of the charm.

Mack and Aaron then plotted to wipe the smile off John’s face. Which doesn’t sound sensible at all. But when has that ever stopped them?

Moira was also mean – and then flirty in Emmerdale tonight

Moira was stressed again – this time because Cain had tidied up rather than done nothing. It’s no wonder he can’t keep up.

She then came home later and was all lovey-dovey and kissy. She told him there weren’t many men this “useful and sexy” leaving Cain very confused again. Us to. Is she drunk? Is that what this is? Or is something else going on here?

    Mandy is a findom

Desperate to solve her money worries, Mandy was caught by Tracy signing up for her findom website. And she was not impressed. She insisted Mandy needed to find another way, but Mandy was adamant she was going ahead with it.

Meanwhile, Chas gave Paddy a pre-wedding present that included his and hers slippers and bride and groom rubber ducks. She then let slip they’d been given to them for their wedding. Because that’s not weird. After they shared a moment, Chas told him she was happy for him.

Back at home Mandy chose a mask for her profile pic and soon had her first client ready and waiting. Madame Diamante Dales was born. There’s no way this can go wrong for Mandy, right? Right? We’ll find out next week

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Caleb paid Jimmy a visit and discovered his plan had worked and Jimmy had lost a big client. Part one complete.

Then, conveniently, a inspector turned up to check the vehicles at Home James Haulage… And Jimmy was fined for exceeding his legal driving limits. Did Caleb have something to do with it? Yes, of course he did! Round two to Caleb.

We don’t know about you, but the whole Caleb ruining someone’s life storyline feels a bit, well, boring and dry. Change the record.

  • What on earth is a financial dominatrix and how will it help Mandy with her money troubles?

What on earth is a financial dominatrix and how will it help Mandy with her money troubles?

Emmerdale bride-to-be Mandy Dingle is secretly working as an online financial dominatrix in a desperate bid to raise money. It’s a risky move, but one which Mandy hopes will solve her financial woes.

This summer should be the happiest of Mandy’s life. She’s about to marry fiancé Paddy in a lavish wedding, and has promised him an exotic honeymoon. However, she’s also failed to mention she’s up to her neck in debt.

Months of slow business at PampaManda have left Mandy firmly in the red. She has maxed out several credit cards and got people on her case.

Mandy tried various ways to make the cash back – including defrauding her own friends. But none of that has worked – quelle surprise!

Mandy’s latest money-making scheme has seen her transform into financial dominatrix, Miss Diamante Dales. Concealing her identity with a blue masquerade mask, Mandy has been using her charms to entice online admirers.

There is also a financial benefit to the flirting, and Mandy hopes to raise enough to settle her debts so that Paddy will be none the wiser.

But what actually is financial domination, also known as findom? Is Mandy’s saucy side hustle actually going to pay off? And can she make a decent living out of it? We have all the answers here.

Mandy and Tracy have a heart to heart in PampaManda

    What is financial domination?

Financial domination is a fetish lifestyle of dominance and submission. It’s whereby a financially submissive individual desires to give money or gifts to a financial dominant (findom).

Participants can be of any gender, but the dominant is often a woman and the submissive is likely to be a man. These male admirers will lavish their financial dominatrixes with expensive items and seemingly want nothing in return. For them, it’s all about surrendering power and feeling as if they are being controlled. It’s a form of escapism in a money centric world.

Financial domination is nearly always done on the Internet. Communication between the two parties, including the transfer of funds, happens online. Financial dominatrixes sometimes create their own websites to conduct conversations on.

Fortunately for Mandy it’s all done online (Credit: ITV)

Mandy in Emmerdale will not meet her admirers

This will be a big relief for Mandy, who doesn’t want anyone to know she’s Madame Diamante Dales.

Since findom is usually a form of ‘distance domination’ it’s highly unlikely the submissive and dominant will ever meet. Although findom is often sexually motivated, physical contact is not expected.

In extreme cases, the submissive will hand over full control of their finances to the dominant. This is referred to as a total power exchange.

Mandy is unnerved as Bear makes a comment in Emmerdale
It might help her now, but when Paddy finds out, will it destroy her marriage? (Credit: ITV)

So is this actually going to help Mandy in Emmerdale make a lot of money?

That all depends on how much the submissive is willing to pay the dominant.

Some findom partnerships consist of a one-off payment. These can be big or small. Others can lead to the regular transferring of money.

There are some men who are willing to go one step further. These individuals will hand over passwords and logins to their bank accounts.

This gives the dominant full control of their finances, allowing themselves access to their funds whenever they want. Crikey!

Will Madame Diamante Dales find herself one of these fellas? Now that certainly would be the answer to all her money woes.

Emmerdale tonight: Aaron robbed by John Sugden and Moira verbally abused Matty

Emmerdale tonight introduced a newcomer in the form of John Sugden – only no one except us knows he’s John Sugden yet.

Aaron certainly didn’t when he got jiggy with him in a layby. And that’s definitely something he’s going to live to regret!

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale on Wednesday August 7.

John and Aaron kiss against John's van
Aaron got jiggy, then got robbed! (Credit: ITV)

    Aaron was robbed

No, that’s not a football chant, it actually happened: Aaron Dingle was once again robbed by his online date.

After spending yesterday with his phone pinging and beeping constantly, Aaron finally went to meet the guy he’d been messaging. Only he’d lost his car keys, so ‘borrowed’ Pollard’s car from Mack at the garage where it was waiting for a service without Eric actually knowing.

On his way to the hotel, he was flagged down by someone why had broken down. We recognised him as John Sugden following press pictures that were released, but Aaron didn’t know him – and soon enough he revealed he was actually Aaron’s date. Apparently Aaron had only seen his torso, so hadn’t recognised him. Think we probably need to see his torso now too, to make it fair.

As Aaron fixed his van, it wasn’t long before the pair started kissing. Then they fell into the back of the van and did the deed. Afterwards Aaron wanted an immediate repeat performance, but while he went for a wee in a bush (classy), John drove off – with Aaron’s keys, wallet and hoodie in the back of his van! (Seriously, though, who wears a hoodie on a date to a hotel?!)

As Aaron reported back to Mack and got him to tow him back, furious Mack insisted Aaron had to sort this fast. But the guy had blocked Aaron on the dating app and disappeared.

Poor Aaron doesn’t have much luck with internet dating as Victoria reminded him yesterday, the last guy robbed him too!

Victoria was still mulling over what to do about Jai. Once thing she was certain of though, she’s going to take him to the cleaners.

She soon gave him a choice: give her her job back with a raise or she would hire a ruthless lawyer and expose everything to the papers. Victoria kept pushing Jai for what she wanted and he eventually agreed.

She also took steps towards forgiving Eric. So all in all, it looks like things won’t work out too badly for Vic.

    Moira lashed out at Matty

So instead of taking her anger out on Cain, Moira turned her attention to Matty. As she played the caring mother, worrying her son was hiding from the world, Matty asked if she called the police on Noah. Moira insisted she didn’t and also insisted Matty didn’t need to worry about her and Cain as they were good. Not sure what she thinks a good relationship is, but anyway!

Matty was worried about Samson, knowing how terrifying prison is. But Moira was adamant they needn’t give him a second thought. She then turned on Matty, aggressively telling him to “man the hell up, you can’t play the victim card all of your life”.

    WHAT the hell?!

Who even is Moira these days? And why is she behaving like this?
