Classic Emmerdale spoilers: Steph’s struggling and Paddy’s love confession goes very wrong

In Classic Emmerdale spoilers for episodes airing on ITV3 on Wednesday November 13, Paddy’s making a big romantic gesture, Val’s sharing her feelings, and Adam’s taking drastic action to make sure Steph stays quiet!

These episodes originally aired on April 16 and 17, 2006

Who’s got the ‘eggs factor’ as the villagers compete?

It’s Easter Sunday in the village and Laurel’s hosting an Easter Egg competition. Lisa and Belle are keen to decorate an egg, but Victoria’s not interested – until she finds out there’s a prize! And when she likes an egg, she changes her mind when she discovers it was decorated by Daz.

    Paddy’s got something to say

Paddy’s in a romantic mood and with some encouragement from Hari he buys a big egg for Toni. He intends to pipe icing on the egg, reading ‘Toni will you go out with me’. But he gets interrupted by an urgent call halfway through.

When Toni sees it and reads the message, ‘Toni will you go’, she assumes the message is from Marlon. Hurt, she confronts him and says she wishes he’d had the guts to tell her to her face!

When Paddy arrives and explains what’s happened, Toni’s still unimpressed. She accuses Paddy of pretending to be her friend just to get her into bed.

Can Paddy persuade her he’s one of the good ones?

    Steph’s struggling with guilt

Adam is worried that Steph’s going to crack and reveal what they’ve done. He takes her on a long walk, hoping to persuade her to keep quiet but she’s still talking about going to the police and confessing to killing Terence. Out of ideas, Adam suggests they go on holiday for a while.

The Dingles step aside for Alice in Classic Emmerdale

Alice is fed up with the Dingles doing everything for her and Samson, so the family leave her to spend some time with her baby boy. When they return she’s tired, but content.

Val's van hurtles into the easter egg competition

Val and Eric’s passion leads to drama!

Elsewhere, Val admits to Diane that she’s still in love with Eric. Later, when she sees him in the back of a van she seizes the chance to confess her true feelings.

Jumping in, she closes the door and tells him she doesn’t want to play games any more. But as they get passionate, the van rolls down the hill and into Laurel’s Easter egg competition!

What’s Cain up to in Classic Emmerdale?

Alice doesn’t want to leave Samson for her CAT scan, but Lisa persuades her. At the hospital, Sam tries to distract her with wedding plans, but Alice’s nerves are obvious. Back home later, Alice heads off for a nap, but Lisa is shocked when Cain tells her she’s lazy!

    Paddy’s upset in Classic Emmerdale

Toni’s not speaking to Paddy and he’s wishing he’d never said anything, while Toni’s wishing she’d stayed in Portugal. Danny agrees that he’d rather be there than in the village.

    Adam’s taking drastic action!

When a guilty Steph almost lets slip to Alan about Terence’s death, Adam’s horrified. So he slips a drug into her drink…

3 Emmerdale spoilers for tonight: Mandy confesses, Chas worries and Ross faces the music

Emmerdale spoilers for tonight reveal Mandy confesses everything to Paddy, but can he convince her to stand up to Tina?

Meanwhile Chas is worried for Aaron and Cain makes a demand of Ross.

Here’s what’s happening in Emmerdale spoilers for Friday November 8.

    1. Paddy discovers the truth

Ever since Tina’s arrival she’s been causing trouble for Mandy. And Mandy knows if she doesn’t do as Tina says her secret will come spilling out.

Tina is blackmailing Mandy to help her get her share of Zak’s will. She wants Wishing Well sold so she can take the money and disappear again. She is using the fact she is Vinny’s biological mum against Mandy, who doesn’t know where to turn.

But as things get even worse tonight, Mandy is overcome with fear and upset. She can’t take it any more and when Paddy finds her in tears she finally confesses.

Paddy gives her a pep talk and Mandy feels stronger. But is she strong enough to take on Tina and win?

Chas worries for Aaron in Emmerdale spoilers

    2. Aaron recovers as Chas worries

Even though Aaron was barely in last night’s episode, he still ended up the centre of it after being taken out by a single punch. He was trying to stop one of Jade’s goons escaping the police and got a collapsed lung for his trouble.

Fortunately paramedic/boyfriend John Sugden was there to perform an emergency procedure (we’re not even going to attempt the medical jargon for that one!) with a pen and a knife. He saved Aaron’s life.

Aaron was taken to hospital where Chas rushed to be by his side. But tonight Chas is worried about her son. His condition is stable, but her concern lies in the emotional impact yet another brush with death has had on him.

Will Aaron share his feelings with Chas?

    Cain throws Ross out

    3. Ross gets on Cain’s wrong side

To be fair to Ross, he wasn’t that keen on fighting Billy again, nor was he happy about using one of the barns at Butlers as the venue. But none of that matters to Cain who knows what happened and isn’t happy.

Last night he left Ross by the side of the road to be arrested by PC Swirling, and tonight Cain is feeling no friendlier. In fact he demands Ross leaves the house and the village for good.

    But will Ross really go?

Spoilers: Tom threatens Paddy as he struggles to keep control

In Emmerdale spoilers, Tom King threatens Paddy as he struggles with the ongoing pressure of the investigation into his abuse of Belle and his growing unpopularity in the village.

In the wake of Belle revealing that he’d abused her, Tom’s life and career quickly fell apart. Not only are the Dingles out for blood, but Nicola has also seen the light. Convinced that Belle is telling the truth, she’ll stop at nothing to expose him… even risking her marriage to husband Jimmy.

Meanwhile, with Rhona and Vanessa believing Belle’s side of the story, they suspended Tom with plans to fire him. Fuming, Tom threatened to sue for unfair dismissal. His threats had Rhona shaken, but she remained set on getting rid.

So far, this has involved faking a beating with the help of his own solicitor, and trashing his car. His victim act may have Jimmy fooled, but he still has a lot of work to do to repair his public image.

Next on Tom’s to-do list is getting his job back – by any means necessary. Issuing a threat to Paddy, Tom demands to be reinstated at the vets’. Will Paddy bow to Tom’s demands?

  • 13 best Emmerdale characters – EVER! Heartthrobs, schemers, cheats and living legends!

13 best Emmerdale characters – EVER! Heartthrobs, schemers, cheats and living legends!

Emmerdale has been on our screens since 1972, and has seen thousands of characters come and go over the years. Some stay in the soap for just a short stint, and for others it becomes a forever home.
But who are the soaps’ best ever characters? It’s a hard job, but we’ve whittled it down to 13 of our all time favourites, both past and present. So here they are…
    Cain looks aghast
Cain has been delivering us drama since 2000 (Credit: ITV)

    Cain Dingle

Emmerdale OG bad boy, Cain is always top of the list. We can’t get enough of the sexy rogue.

Always central to any Dingle drama, Cain is the son of former lovers, Zak and Faith, but grew up thinking Shadrach was his father.

He arrived in 2000 as the black sheep of the family and delighted fans with his corrupt carry on.

Cain has had a lot of romantic entanglements during his 20 plus years in the Dales. These include high-stakes affairs with police officer Angie Reynolds and vicar Harriet Finch and a questionable dalliance with teen Amy Wyatt.

But two relationships have shaped him most. The first being his on/off one with cousin, Charity, and the other his passionate marriage to Moira.

Cain is a father of four, by four different women. He and Charity share daughter Debbie. Nate Robinson is Cain’s long-lost son who came into his life as an adult, Kyle Winchester was the result of his fling with Amy, and he has young Isaac with Moira.

The character is Emmerdale’s answer to the terminator. Seriously, the guy is indestructible! Cain has survived attempts on his life, near drowning and a brain tumour. And he’s endured a few stints in prison, the most recent being when he took the rap for Kyle killing Al Chapman.

It’s certainly been an action-packed two decades, we can’t wait to see what the next bring.

Kim Tate looks wild eyed in Emmerdale
No one messes with Kim Tate and gets away with it (Credit: ITV)

    Best Emmerdale characters: Kim Tate

Ruthless, scheming and ever so sexy, Kim is a goddess and we worship at her altar.

The legendary lady of the manor was introduced in December 1989 as Frank Tate’s gold-digging missus. Frank might have had money, but it was excitement Kim craved. Her affair with farmhand Dave Glover gave her that, plus a ‘who’s the daddy’ storyline when Kim gave birth to son James. The tot turned out to be Frank’s, and tragedy struck when Dave was killed in a fire.

After Dave’s demise, Kim’s marriage to Frank collapsed. He tried to have her killed, but Kim took revenge by faking her own death and framing Frank for murder. Her ‘return’ from the dead caused Frank to suffer a fatal heart attack. In shocking scenes, Kim put her compact mirror up to Frank’s mouth to check he’d stopped breathing before reapplying her powder.

Kim’s second husband was Steve Marchant, but that marriage also ended badly. She set him up for a crime she’d committed and fled the village in a helicopter.

Fast forward to 2018 and Kim made a dramatic return. She was thrust straight back into the action after ordering her third hubby Graham Foster to dispose of her step-grandson Joe Tate. Kim also got pushed off a balcony by Faith Dingle.

Kim was reunited with her son, Jamie Tate, and let’s just say the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Just like his mum, Jamie faked his own death.

Now Kim is onto husband number four, Will Taylor, and proved once again she’s not a woman to be messed with. When Will cheated with his ex Queen Kim got her revenge.

Eric Pollard smiles in Emmerdale publicity shot

    Eric Pollard

There’s only one Eric Pollard, and we love him!

The village veteran, who’s the longest-serving character in Emmerdale, has been played by actor Chris Chittell for 38 years.

Eric was first introduced in 1986 and was only meant to stay for 12 episodes. But viewers loved his immoral antics, even if the other villagers didn’t.

The former antique dealer’s list of crimes include theft, fraud and even bigamy. Eric has always had an eye for the ladies and has five wives – two of which he was married to at the same time. His second wife, Elizabeth was one of the victims of the 1993 plane crash.

Eric was tracked down by his long-lost son. David, in 2006 and the pair forged a close relationship.

The other most important person in Eric’s life was his fifth wife and soulmate, Val Lambert. Their union was a very popular one, and fans felt Eric’s heartbreak when he lost his ‘Valerie’ in 2015.

He’s also had a relationship with Brenda Walker, who’s played by Chris’s real-life wife, Lesley Dunlop.

Time has certainly mellowed Eric, and he’s been forced to slow down following after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s last year. But there’s still life in the old dog yet, so expect more scams in the future.

Chas in Emmerdale looks inquisitively at Marlon in the Woolpack
Chas in her natural habitat behind the Woolpack bar (Credit: ITV)

    Chas Dingle

Who remembers the moment Chas, short for Chastity, arrived in the village dressed as a nun for her cousin Marlon’s stag do? Talk about making an entrance!

A proper chip off the old Dingle block, Chas is the daughter of Faith and Shadrach and sister to Cain.

She’s also mum to Aaron. Chas gave birth to Aaron when she was 14, but the pair have a complicated relationship. Chas abandoned Aaron and was devastated to learn years later he’d been sexually abused by his father, Gordon. The guilt over abandoning her son has never really left her.

Chas has lived in Emmerdale since 2002 and has spent most of those years working at The Woolpack. She went from barmaid to landlady, before she was forced to sell her beloved pub. She’s now holds the position of manager.

Chas’s biggest weakness in life has always been men. She had a tempestuous relationship with Carl King. They almost got married, but Chas jilted Carl at the altar after discovering he’d been sleeping with Eve Jenson.

Then came her ill-fated affairs. First with Cameron Murray, who turned out to be a killer. Then Al Chapman, which resulted in Chas losing it all – including her husband, Paddy.

Fans loved Chas and Paddy together. The couple were dealt a cruel blow with the death of their first daughter Grace in 2018. But little Eve arrived the year after to help heal some of their pain.

Chas is a survivor, and has recently endured a battle against triple negative breast cancer. She underwent a double mastectomy and is currently in remission from the disease. Things are looking up on the love life front too, with a potential romance blossoming between her and Dr Liam Cavanagh.

    Classic Emmerdale Paddy perplexed

    Best Emmerdale characters: Paddy Kirk

Loveable Paddy is one of Emmerdale’s most cherished characters. He was introduced to viewers in 1997 as a locum vet.

Paddy is the son of Barbara and Bear Wolf, a former wrestler, who Paddy was estranged from until adulthood. He has a daughter, Eve, from his marriage to ex-wife Chas Dingle. He’s also been a father figure to Chas’s son, Aaron, over the years.

In 2024, Paddy married wife Mandy Dingle – for a second time, and his fifth in total. He and Mandy got hitched first time round in 1999, but split soon afterwards. Paddy’s also gone down the aisle with Emily Dingle, Rhona Goskirk, and of course, Chas. He’s also had a couple of extramarital affairs, with postmistress Viv Hope and teaching assistant Tess Harris. Don’t be fooled by the bumbling nature – Paddy can be a naughty boy when he wants to!

Paddy’s most enduring relationship is his bromance with best mate, Marlon Dingle. The pair’s silly antics have given viewers a lot of laughs over the years.

There have been incredibly sad times too. Paddy’s world was shattered by the loss of his daughter, Grace, who passed away moments after she was born. He also endured a battle with depression after his marriage split from Chas and contemplated ending his life.

Supported by his loved ones, Paddy found a way through, and his future is looking bright once more.

Charity Dingle is a classic Emmerdale icon (Credit: ITV)
Charity Dingle is a classic Emmerdale icon (Credit: ITV)

    Charity Dingle

Landlady Charity has been at the centre of the action in Emmerdale since 2000, except when she took a break from the village between 2005-2009.

Feisty and fearless, Charity’s life story is one hell of a read!

As a young teen she spent time on the streets working as a prostitute. During that dark period Charity was groomed and abused by corrupt cop DI Bails, which resulted in her falling pregnant at 14.

Charity’s second child, Debbie, was the product of a fling with her cousin, Cain. Charity and Cain’s on/off love affair has been central to the soap and provided one of its most popular partnerships. They’re also famed for their illegal scams. Charity is a mistress of disguise and loves a wig!

Charity has had four husbands. Her first marriage to Chris Tate ended with him committing suicide and framing her for murder. Husband number two, Declan Macey tried to have her killed, and her third marriage to Jai Sharma also turned sour. Vanessa Woodfield almost became Charity’s fourth spouse, but she then fell for Mackenzie Boyd.

Charity and Mack have weathered a few storms – including him fathering a baby behind her back, and her stabbing him, but they remain together.

These days, Charity is landlady of The Woolpack, which she co-owns with son, Ryan Stocks. She’s also mum to Noah and Moses, as well as grandmother to Sarah and Jack Sugden.

    Aaron Dingle

Aaron is one of the most complex and compelling characters Emmerdale has ever had.

He’s the son of Chas Dingle and Gordon Livesey. Chas gave birth to Aaron when she was only 14 and placed him into care. He had a difficult upbringing and suffered abuse at the hands of his father.

Aaron came to live in the village permanently in 2008 and was a troublemaker from the word go.

Early on, Aaron realised he fancied boys. After coming out to his family, Aaron fell for builder Jackson Walsh. But tragedy struck when Jackson was paralysed in a horrific accident, and Aaron helped him die.

Aaron then began a secret affair with Robert Sugden. Fans went crazy for the pairing, who they dubbed ‘Robron’, but their lying and cheating led to the death of Katie Sugden.

By some miracle, Aaron and Robert got married. They split for good after Robert was jailed for murder.

Aaron moved on with Ben Tucker, but he was bumped off by serial killer Meena Julta. Shortly afterwards, Aaron left the village for a new life abroad.

He made a brief return the following year, but tragedy struck again he lost his half-sister Liv Flaherty in Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary storm.

Aaron’s now back in the Dales for good. His time now is mainly spent masterminding illegal activities with partner-in-crime/best mate Mackenzie Boyd. And there’s also a new man on scene in the form of former army medic, John Sugden, who just happens to be Robert’s brother.

Has Aaron met ‘the one’? Only time will tell…

Val in the courtroom in Classic Emmerdale
Val Pollard was a true one-off (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock)

    Best Emmerdale characters: Val Pollard

Vivacious Val Pollard left us nearly ten years ago, but her memory lives on.

The gobby Geordie was Eric Pollard’s fifth wife, and Diane Sugden’s younger sister. She had to two children, Sharon and Paul. Val’s son Paul was the product of her affair with Diane’s husband, Rodney Blackstock.

Val, or Valerie as Eric often used to call her, was larger than life and had a penchant for causing trouble. Her and Eric were both as bad as each other, aka the perfect match.

The couple married in 2008 and purchased The Grange B&B, which they ran together. They took teen tearaway Amy Wyatt (now Barton) under their wing and ended up adopting her.

Val and Eric’s marriage hit the rocks after she cheated on him on holiday in Portugal and contracted HIV. The couple reconciled, but Val got in trouble with the police for committing fraud.

She planned to fake her own death, but didn’t get that far after becoming one of the victims in the 2015 helicopter crash. Val met a grisly end when she was impaled by a shard of glass. She rose from the dead a few days later and appeared as a ghost to say goodbye to Eric.

An unforgettable character, who’s truly missed.

We miss Andy Sugden (Credit: ITV)
We miss Andy Sugden (Credit: ITV)

    Andy Sugden

Andy wasn’t born into the Sugden brood, but was adopted by his best friend Robert’s parents Jack and Sarah in 2000.  Their act of kindness gave Andy hope of a stable future, but life turned out to be anything but.

First Andy accidentally killed Sarah after setting fire to a barn at the family farm, not realising she was inside. Then came the discovery that Robert had been sleeping with his wife, Katie. Andy decided to shoot Robert in revenge, but accidentally pulled the trigger on Jack, nearly killing him.

Andy fathered a daughter, Sarah, with next partner Debbie Dingle. They also went on to have a son, Jack, seven years later.

His second marriage to Jo Stiles saw Andy turn into a violent abuser. And when Jo found the courage to leave him, Andy suffered a complete mental breakdown.

Andy and Katie remarried, but she died weeks later after a confrontation with Robert. Andy then arranged for Ross Barton to shoot Robert (what’s his obsession with guns?) – but his brother survived.

20 years in the village came to a dramatic end for Andy after his vengeful ex Chrissie White framed him for a crime he didn’t commit. Andy went on the run and as far as we know is still running.

    Bring him back, please!

Moira Dingle aka Natalie J Robb in Emmerdale
Moira has made her mark on the village (Credit: ITV)

    Moira Dingle

Feisty farmer Moira is another one of Emmerdale’s power-houses and the woman who finally tamed Cain Dingle.

Moira and Cain are one of soaps’ most adored couples. Their love story started as a steamy affair but has gone the distance. They have survived betrayals on both sides, including Moira’s fling with Cain’s son, Nate. Well, they don’t call her Mucky Moira for nothing!

Moira arrived in the village with her first husband, and childhood sweetheart, John Barton, and their kids Adam, Holly and Hannah (now Matty). Her affair with Cain finished her marriage and Moira was heartbroken when John died in a car crash. Tragedy struck again in 2016 when Holly died of a heroin overdose.

Moira’s other memorable moments include her pushing her sister-in-law and nemesis Emma Barton to her death off a viaduct, and giving birth to baby Isaac without knowing she was pregnant.

The past few months have been particularly brutal for Moira after being diagnosed with a non-cancerous brain tumour. We’re keeping everything crossed she makes it through because we need Moira in our lives.

    <yoastmark class=

    Best Emmerdale characters: Zak Dingle

Zak was the patriarch of the most iconic family in Emmerdale – the Dingles – for almost 30 years.

A pig farmer by trade and former bare-knuckle boxer, Zak arrived in the village in October, 1994. Zak’s first wife was Nellie Lynch, and they had five kids. Their four sons were Nathan, Sam, Butch and Ben. Zak and Nellie also had a daughter, Tina.

Zak also fathered son Cain during an affair with his brother’s wife, Faith.

After Zak and Nellie divorced, Zak found love again with Lisa Clegg. They welcomed daughter, Belle into their lives on Christmas Day 1998 after Lisa (who didn’t know she was pregnant) gave birth in a pigsty.

Zak had a disastrous third marriage to Joanie Wright, which left fans in uproar over his betrayal of Lisa. But thankfully the Emmerdale writers saw the error of their ways and reunited Zak and Lisa. They remained together until her death in May 2019.

After losing his Lisa, Zak was a bit of a lost soul, although remained fiercely protective of his family.

Actor Steve Halliwell, who played Zak for three decades, passed away in December 2023. Zak was quickly written out and viewers were told he was visiting family in Scotland.

Zak’s family are soon to receive the sad news he’s passed away. The Dingles bring him home and lay Zak to rest in the village.

Seth and Betty smile and cheers happily
Seth and Betty were the beating heart of Emmerdale village (Credit: ITV)

    Betty Eagleton

Lovely Betty was the heart and soul of the village during her 21 years there.

She had a habit of being nosey and interfering, but Betty always meant well. She was a friend to many.

Betty came to the Dales in 1994 and discovered her former partner, Seth Armstrong was living there. The golden couple rekindled their romance and hosted a 1940s theme night for the villagers.

They remained together until Seth died on an airplane travelling back from Australia. Betty brought his body back to Emmerdale and had him buried in the woods surrounding Home Farm.

Betty remained in the village for several years after Seth’s passing and dealt with the loss of other dear friends, including Alan Turner. She went to live in Australia with new partner Reuben Archibald in 2015.

Sadly actress Paula Tilbrook died in December 2019, but Betty remains alive and well.

    Seth Armstrong

We can’t have Betty, without her lovely Seth. He was one of Emmerdale’s all time greats. Seth first appeared on screen in 1978. He was a temporary character to begin with, but was popular with the fans. By 1980, Seth was a full time regular.

After Seth’s wife, Meg, passed away, he went on to rekindle his relationship with former flame, Betty.

He also landed his dream job as a gamekeeper. When Seth wasn’t working at Home Farm he could usually be found supping a pint in the Woolie.

Seth was written out of the show in 2003 and his character was killed off two years later.

We like to think Seth is sitting on a cloud, beer in hand, watching the drama continue in his beloved village.

  • Review of the week: Tom’s shocking revenge, wedding bells, and a secret revealed

Review of the week: Tom’s shocking revenge, wedding bells, and a secret revealed

Well! There is a lot to say in this week’s Emmerdale review! Because what a week of Emmerdale that was!

Even in such an action-packed week, of course one story stands out: Tom’s evil attempt to hurt Belle by hurting Piper!

It was gasp-out-loud shocking and we are desperately hoping that Piper pulls through.

And that was only a small part of the dramatic events in this week’s Emmerdale. Read on for the rest of our Emmerdale review of the week to find out what we thought.

Paddy and Mandy’s super-quick wedding in our Emmerdale review

After a few hiccups, Paddy and Mandy finally made it to the altar for the second time, 25 years after they first tied the knot. They raced through their vows in record speed so they could get it all done before vicar Charles had to rush off again.

And that was really the theme of the whole thing – speed. Mandy’s money troubles only emerged a couple of weeks ago, she set up her fin-dom alter-ego Madame Diamante Dales last week, and paid off a chunk of her debts almost immediately.

    The truth is out!

But within days, her future father-in-law Bear had found out, given her an ultimatum to stop or he would tell Paddy. Mandy agreed, but Bear set her up, exposed her – in a manner of speaking – and the truth was out.

Paddy decided the wedding was off, but a quick chat with Mandy later and everything was on again.

Our heads were spinning with the speed of it all. But we can’t deny it’s nice to see Paddy and Mandy happy. Let’s just hope it lasts!

John Sugden looks brooding in press picture
Newcomer John has intrigued us (Credit: ITV)

    Sugden secrets

Normally a newcomer to the village who’s hiding a secret leaves us cold. But to our own surprise, we’re finding John Sugden rather intriguing!

It’s partly the casting. Oliver Farnworth is bringing hints of both Jack and Robert Sugden to the role, and physically he’s perfect to be a Sugden. (We reserve the right to take all of this back in a future Emmerdale review if John turns out not to be a family member after all!)

John Sugden's dog tag with the name Aidan Moore in Emmerdale review

    More secrets!

Anyway, John’s prickly nature and downright hatred of Mack has won us over (come on, Mack’s very annoying!). And then Victoria found his army dog tag. He said he didn’t want to talk about that part of his life, which is interesting in itself.

But it turned out the dog tag wasn’t even his! Instead it bears the name Aidan Moore. WHO is Aidan? Why does John have his dog tag? We’re definitely invested in this now.

    Vinny and Gabby

We loved Liv but it’s nice to see Vinny finding some happiness after so much heartache. And who knows, maybe he’ll calm Gabby down a bit. We think this unlikely match could just work.

    Tom and Piper

OMG, where to begin with this one?! We still feel a bit sick just thinking about it. Having tormented Belle while she was in Scotland with endless messages, her abusive husband Tom was determined to keep up his harassment when she returned.

First, he bought her a car, which everyone thought was totally lovely – except Belle herself (and Charity, who’s thankfully still suspicious). Belle turned down his gift, but Tom wasn’t finished.

He let himself into the cottage, bringing flowers and a pint of milk for Belle, and acting like everything was normal. He told Belle they should get back together, and when she said no, he wasn’t happy.

Tom tried his old tricks, telling Belle she wasn’t strong enough to make such a big decision. He even threatened to take his own life. It was tough to watch! But Belle stayed strong.

Tom and Belle in Emmerdale review

    More threats

As usual, though, Tom had the upper hand – chillingly watching Belle through his hidden cameras. He could even see her undressing in the bathroom and later watched her sleep FROM INSIDE HER HOUSE. We’re into horror movie territory here!

And that wasn’t even the worst bit. In Friday’s episode, Belle stood up to Tom in public, humiliating him in the pub. And so Tom took terrible revenge.

He drove off in the Mini he’d bought for Belle and saw Piper in the road. Did he stop to make sure she was safe? No. He. Did. Not.

Instead, he put his foot down and accelerated towards the helpless pup.

Did you gasp out loud? We definitely did! Will evil Tom be the hero for saving the pooch’s life, or will he give Belle a shoulder to cry on if Piper doesn’t make it? Either way, it’s not looking good for Belle!

  • Emmerdale writers offered thanks by fans over Mandy and Paddy wedding episode

Emmerdale writers offered thanks by fans over Mandy and Paddy wedding episode

Grateful fans of Emmerdale have thanked the soap’s writers for its joyful Mandy Dingle and Paddy Kirk wedding episode last night.

Viewers tuned in as Mandy and Paddy successfully tied the knot in spite of his dad Bear’s meddling – outing her as a financial dominatrix to a baffled Paddy.

Paddy and Mandy’s happily ever after was in doubt for a while… as it appeared as though Paddy had called the whole thing off.

Well, it wouldn’t be a Dingle wedding without a little drama on the day!

Mandy rushed over to see her husband-to-be, who was surprisingly accepting of her side-hustle. It was the lies which proved to be the sticking point.

Following a sweet heart-to-heart, the pair managed to work things out, and the wedding was back on!

After rushing back to the church and talking Charles around, the pair were married in a joyful (if super speedy) counterpoint to the misery and upset surrounding them.

Emmerdale fans praise ‘brilliant’ episode as Paddy and Mandy are married

As the soap shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the wedding, fans took to Instagram to share their appreciation for the episode. The consensus is in – and it’s good to see a bit of cheer for once.

“Brilliant episode, well done all about time we had a lighter episode,” wrote one overjoyed fan.

“Only Mandy Dingle could get away with that dress. Funny episode especially the vows well done all. The laugh that everyone needs right now in the cruel world we live in,” said another.

“Brilliant episode, so happy they are getting married. Love them both they are well suited,” a third fan shared.

“Love it, Mandy and Paddy together at last. They’re made for each other, nice to have a lighter note in the midst of the Belle and Tom storyline,” another viewer agreed.

“That was a brilliant episode, so funny and happy and the dress was amazing,” said a fourth.

A fifth agreed: “I like that it was sorted out by Mandy and Paddy simply having an adult conversation, well done writers.”

“The best episode, so great to have the humour back,” added a sixth.

Have Mandy and Paddy found their happily ever after?

Emmerdale tonight: Mandy and Paddy’s super-speedy wedding and Tom’s latest sinister plot exposed

Emmerdale tonight saw Mandy and Paddy’s big day called off then back on, then nearly called off, then finally on again. They said I do in record speed and pledged this was forever. Let’s all just remember forever equates to a couple of days in Soapland, eh?

Also, Tom’s manipulation tactics did not work on a returning Belle, but he’s not worried because he has something else up his sleeve…

Here’s a recap of everything that happened in Emmerdale on Thursday August 15.

Mandy hoicks up her wedding dress in Emmerdale spoilers as she runs through the village determined.

Mandy and Paddy’s slapstick wedding day

Paddy decided he couldn’t go ahead with the wedding. So gleeful Bear called everything off before breaking the news to Mandy herself. Mandy was already dressed and sparkling (t0 say the least) ready for her big day, but Bear didn’t care a jot.

As Bear took rather too much pleasure in telling her Paddy had pulled out, Mandy sped off to save her day. She and Paddy talked and she defended herself insisting she keeps her clothes on and wears a mask, so all it is is making money out of being a financial dominatrix.

Paddy wasn’t fussed over how she was making the money, it was the lies. But they soon reconciled, Paddy’s lending her the money to pay her debts and it was a race against time to get the wedding back on.

Now, it depends whether you like slapstick and Mandy-style comedy as to whether you enjoyed the next bit. They raced round the village and then waited at the church. Charles had a funeral so needed to get going and one by one the guests arrived, all having gone back to work and all hilariously (!) asking if they had time to get changed. “No,” everyone shouted in response each time.

But with no sign of Vinny or Bear it looked like they were going to miss the ceremony. They weren’t answering their phones or anywhere to be found. So Mandy raced outside and bellowed: “VINNY” across the Dales. He shouted back and then made it to the wedding. It’s a miracle.

After saying I do at super-top speed, Paddy and Mandy were hitched. “No regrets,” Pads told his new bride. “This time it’s forever.” Which usually means it’ll last about six months then all go wrong.

Belle stands up to Tom as he tries to manipulate her
Tom didn’t get his way (Credit: ITV)

Tom lurked and spied on Belle in Emmerdale tonight

Belle arrived home from Scotland to find Sarah and a Mini waiting for her. Sarah handed over the keys, told Belle it was hers and it was a gift from Tom. Belle refused to accept it.

Before she could barely get in the front door, Tom had let himself in with milk and flowers to welcome her home. Let’s talk about getting back together was his opening gambit. But shocked Belle fought her clear anxiety and told him she didn’t want the car and they weren’t getting back together.

Tom tried to manipulate her and told her her brain couldn’t make those sorts of decisions because she was mentally unstable, but Belle stood firm. She told him no contact, no texts nothing at all. He surprisingly agreed.

Of course we all know why he agreed when he was then seen watching Belle sleeping on his phone. With secret cameras all over the house, there is absolutely no escape for Belle yet. Sigh.

    Vinny and Gabby kiss
Aw, happiness at last? (Credit: ITV)

Vinny and Gabby got it on

After an awkward encounter in the village, Gabby went home with a bottle of wine for one rather than go to the wedding with Vinny. Vinny turned up to apologise to Gabby for his behaviour last time. They kissed and she led him to the bedroom. Cherry popped.

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

Victoria couldn’t find John, despite her very best stalker efforts. She thought he’d left town. But eventually she found him – once again squaring off with Mack and Aaron at the pub – and they finally agreed on how to proceed. John is going to live in his, apparently stinky, van, but have a shower at Victoria’s and kick a ball around with Harry. That’s that sorted, then.

John also apologised to Sarah, who blackmailed him into buying her a drink.

Elsewhere, Nicola broke down and confided in Bob Angel is staying in prison for longer due to her fight. Bob told her at least she’s getting her child back and then apologised immediately. We mean, he does have a point…

Meanwhile, Charity was desperate to find out why the wedding had been called off originally. She told Mack “It won’t last anyway”, but he insisted they would be having “hot sex” until they were in their 90s.

Charity has also started to suspect Tom again. Her Spidey Senses are tingling apparently – and not from Mack’s hot sex comment. If she could just make up her mind about Tom and stick to it, that would be much easier!
