What happened in Emmerdale tonight: April found out the truth about her mum’s death and there was a sad break-up

In Emmerdale tonight there was devastation for April after she was kidnapped, held over the roof of a multistory carpark and then found out the truth about her mum’s death.

Also, Ruby was faced with an impossible choice, and Brenda realised she had no future with Eric.

Here’s what happened in Emmerdale tonight, Thursday December 5.

Things got really bad for Ross and April

    April was kidnapped

Marlon wouldn’t let April go into Hotten after school shopping. Lucky, then, that Jade pulled up to provide a lift to school and a friendly listening ear.

Jade then called Ross with a video of April tied up in the boot of the car. Ross sped off in Billy’s car who warned him he couldn’t go anywhere without a plan. Billy caught up with Mack and Aaron and told them what was going on and Mack came to his senses and realised exactly what his actions have caused.

    Memories of Donna haunted Ross

As Ross arrived at the multistory carpark where Donna died when she jumped over the edge while handcuffed to a criminal, Jade told Ross she had specifically picked the spot because of Donna and he had horrific flashbacks.

April screamed as she was held over the edge by Jade’s henchman. But Ross was frozen to the spot.

Coming to, Ross tried to talk Jade round, but she was clear: the money in exchange for April’s life.

And then along came Aaron and Mackenzie who saved the day by giving Jade her money back. Well, £7000 and change. Which obviously isn’t the £10k she wanted and she still wants Ross to pay it back. Jade is going away for a few days, but wants her £3k.

April found out the truth about her mum

Ross took April and left, but he made the mistake of saying he wasn’t going to let it happen again. April immediately picked up on it and confronted him.

He confessed he had been there when Donna died. He then told April her mum had jumped over the wall and April was devastated. She knew Donna could have stayed with her for longer, but she sacrificed their time together to catch a criminal.

At home Marlon tried to get through to April, who was sobbing, but she didn’t tell him what was really wrong.

Meanwhile, Ross gave Mackenzie a beating. And when Charity stepped in, he pushed her over too. And then Ross ended up being the bad guy when Moses was watching and begged his dad to stop. Charity told Ross he would never see his son again.

Ruby given a choice in Emmerdale tonight

Ruby was still trying to tell Caleb how distressed she is by her dad’s presence. She begged him to stand by her side and understand what she needs. Caleb promised he would. He then confronted Anthony in the street and told him he would always back Ruby, so Anthony decided to leave again. Only Steph caught him and stopped him. She decided to go with him and he promised to stay one more night so she could pack up.

Meanwhile Caleb realised that Anthony’s departure would affect their relationship with Steph. So he tried to talk to Ruby again. And she cracked open another bottle of wine. As she ranted about how much she hated her father and she didn’t care if he died, Steph walked in and told her they would never see her again if they cut Anthony out.

Caleb was furious that Ruby was ‘choosing’ to let Steph walk out of their lives. Ruby insisted she wasn’t choosing, this was not a choice, she couldn’t have her dad in her life. And Caleb still clearly couldn’t see how distressed she was and told her she had to accept Anthony so they could keep Steph. Here’s an idea, Caleb, trying realising your wife is going through something huge rather than shouting at her.

A break-up for Eric and Brenda in Emmerdale tonight

Eric and Brenda were very awkward with each other, but he thought flowers would make it up to her. She was not impressed given they didn’t have money for flowers.

He then set up Champagne and a huge food spread in the shop and invited Brenda over. Eric got down on knee again and promised he wasn’t being impulsive, he genuinely wanted her to marry him.

Liam walked in mid-proposal to get some milk and the situation became very uncomfortable. Once Liam had gone, Brenda tearfully told him her answer was no.

Brenda said she needed to find out who she was again. She then ended their relationship because too much has happened. Is there any way back for them?

    Angelica fought Tom’s corner

Tom sent Jimmy a letter, who put it in the bin much to Angelica’s disgust. Jimmy and Nicola tried to talk some sense into her, but Angelica continued to fight Tom’s corner insisting Tom is still family.

Angelica seemed to think Tom wasn’t as bad as her because she killed someone and he never killed Belle. Can her parents make her see sense?

Jai was unsuccessful at manifesting success

Jai was listening to success podcasts and manifesting ‘success’ for himself. But he found Ross lurking in the office having overheard him. Ross wanted to do another van theft. But Jai – with success clearly in mind – said no.

Emmerdale star Michael Parr rushed to hospital after ‘hallucinating for days’

Emmerdale star Michael Parr has revealed how he was rushed to hospital following a serious illness which had him ‘hallucinating’ for four days. The actor, who plays badboy Ross Barton, was filming a role in India two years ago.

It was there that he was struck down after crushing a nerve while in the gym. Speaking to The Mirror, he revealed:  “It was terrifying; it was by far the worst pain I’ve felt in my entire life.

“The injury froze me and I couldn’t move,” he says. “I was permanently in bed and bent over. It even impacted my breathing.”

He continued: “My immediate thought was that I was going to be like that for the rest of my life. The panic really set in that I’d done myself some permanent damage.”

However the worst was yet to come…

Emmerdale star Michael Parr reveals hospital horror amid hallucinations

It was while Michael was already bedbound with nerve damage when a colleague found him delirious and hallucinating his his hotel room. Suspected of having Legionnaires disease, doctors rushed Michael to hospital, where he began treatment.

“I dropped about 20lb in four days and my cheekbones were starting to protrude,” he said.

“I’d been in my room hallucinating for four days. I didn’t know what was going on. I was delirious. I’m a massive chess player. I was so out of it I kept thinking I was a chess piece.”

He added: “Being taken to hospital in a foreign country is always scary, but especially when you can’t communicate with the doctors,”

Michael’s Emmerdale comeback as Ross Barton makes his return

Thankfully, Michael made a full recovery. The actor is now back as Ross after initially leaving in 2018. Ross’s return came as Billy entered a dangerous bareknuckle boxing ring – finding a menacing Ross waiting for him.

Ross and Billy made an enemy of fight promoter Jade. She didn’t appreciate Billy ruining things by sucker-punching Ross. She arranged a rematch, but that fell apart too when the police got involved.

And, as Mack took the opportunity to take her cash for himself, Ross was left holding the (empty) bag. Determined to get her money back, Jade held Ross responsible.

And, as she resorts to increasingly violent measures, Jade kidnaps April Windsor in Emmerdale tonight.

Will Ross be able to save April before Jade does something terrible?

2 Emmerdale spoilers tonight: April in danger as Jade demands her money back from Ross

In Emmerdale spoilers tonight, April’s life hangs in the balance as a menacing Jade demands her money back from Ross. Kidnapping the teenager as leverage, Jade drags April to a location that’s terribly familiar for Ross.

Can Ross save April before Jade does something terrible?

Elsewhere, faced with losing Steph again, Caleb begs Ruby to work things out with her dad and daughter.

All this and more in Emmerdale spoilers tonight.

    Emmerdale spoilers tonight

    1. Jade kidnaps April

Frustrated after Marlon tells her she can’t go into town after school, April accepts a lift from the apparently friendly Jade. Not long after, she makes a video call to Ross revealing that she’s kidnapped April.

Telling Billy that he needs to go alone, Ross borrows his car and heads out to rescue April – in spite of the fact he doesn’t have Jade’s money. Getting a pin from Jade, Ross is filled with dread as she directs him to a place he knows all too well… the multi-storey car park where Donna died.

Arriving at the car park, Ross is horrified to find April, one of Jade’s thugs dangling her over the edge of the car park roof. As Jade continues to demand money that Ross doesn’t have, April’s life hangs in the balance.

Anthony tells Steph that his reconciliation with Ruby is looking increasingly unlikely. He hints that maybe she could support him by leaving the village together.

At home, Caleb pleads with Ruby to find a way to make things work and not lose Steph again.

    What will Steph do?

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Ruby in distress over her dad and Ross feared for Moses

Emmerdale tonight saw distressing scenes for Ruby Fox-Miligan as she had a panic attack after being all-but forced to forgive her dad for their past history. So what did happen between them?

Meanwhile, Ross realised Jade’s threats were serious, but he raced to rescue the wrong person, and Bob gave Pollard some advice.

Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale on Wednesday December 4.

Ruby’s terror over her dad was evident in Emmerdale tonight

Steph tried to get Caleb onside in fighting Anthony’s corner to Ruby. They invited Anthony over and Ruby was not happy at all. But everyone took Anthony’s side and Ruby was forced to agree to a cup of tea. Though she sat in complete silence and looked incredibly awkward and uncomfortable. Especially when they opened the memory box.

Anthony then launched into a speech apologising and blaming her mother for everything. He spoke about how close he and Ruby had been (just how close, eh?). He seemed genuine to everyone around them, but Ruby could not cope with the apology. She did not accept it.

She then agreed to put the past in the past, but her happy cheerful exterior was all an act. She excused herself and had a panic attack outside. It’s very clear Ruby is hiding something huge here – and her animosity towards her dad runs very deep. She almost looked scared of him…

    Ross was desperate for cash

Ross tried to hit Steph up for cash. But he then summoned Mackenzie, Billy, Aaron and John to Aaron’s flat to find out who had stole Jade’s money. Suspicion fell on Billy with Ross sure he must have taken it. But Billy denied it and stormed out.

When they were alone Aaron confronted Mack – he knew he had taken the money. Mack wasn’t exactly doing a good job of hiding his glee over getting away with it so far. Aaron said he’d keep quiet for a cut.

Meanwhile, Jade and her fancy curly hair and clothes, were having coffee at the café. She reminded Ross again he needed to get the cash – and chatted to April just to annoy him.

Ross went to see Charity and told her what was going on. He suggested she take Moses away for a few days. But Charity refused to be driven out of her home.

And it turned out Jade’s attention wasn’t on Moses after all – she was having coffee with April.

Pollard wasn’t budging in Emmerdale tonight

Eric wanted to take Brenda for lunch – but she reminded him they didn’t have any money. He was trying to find any way possible not to have to sell the shop. Although Brenda insisted he had, Pollard was secretly telling any interested parties the shop was not for sale.

Brenda later confided in Bob, but when she all-but confessed she was only staying with Eric because of his Parkinson’s, Bob was horrified.

He went to advise Pollard he needed to sell the shop as it was his only hope of keeping Brenda.

    Angelica fought for Tom

Angelica was impatiently waiting for another call from Tom when Belle arrived. She broke the news to Nicola that Tom has pleaded not guilty.

Angelica spoke to Tom again later, who manipulated her to get Jimmy back on side to testify for him. Tom pretended he didn’t want to get her involved, but really he absolutely wanted did want to involve her and seemed very glad when it worked.

  • Viewers slam Mack storyline as they ‘can’t wait’ for Ross to ‘wipe the smile off his face’

Viewers slam Mack storyline as they ‘can’t wait’ for Ross to ‘wipe the smile off his face’

Viewers have slammed the current Emmerdale Mack storyline as they admit they “can’t wait” for Ross to “wipe the smile off his face.”

When bad boy Ross Barton arrived back in the village, he did so in true Ross fashion – taking part in an illegal fight club. But when the police arrived and everything went wrong, Mackenzie stole some money. And Ross has been given the blame.

Last night’s episode (December 3) saw Mack taunt Ross, using his relationship with Moses. And when Ross gave him some money to give to his son, Mack quickly made fun of how little there was.

Mack and Ross clash over Moses

He began splashing the stolen cash on Christmas presents for both Charity and Moses, before giving Amy a large sum to get to Reuben. But it seems viewers are on team Ross.

Jade began threatening two people Ross cares most about – April and Moses. So when reality sets in that she means business, Ross knows he has to keep his loved ones safe.

We know April finds herself in danger this week because of Jade’s threats, but will Mackenzie ever speak out and admit it was him? Or will he just enjoy watching everyone blame Ross?

After the episode, fans couldn’t help but express on social media how much they want Ross to come out on top.

Fans react to the current Emmerdale Mack and Ross storyline

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) one wrote: “Can’t wait for Ross to get the better of Mack. Which he will!”

Another added: “Mack is so jealous of Ross. Wish Ross would just wipe the smile off his face.”

“Mack is going to get people hurt! He’s horrible”, a third added.

A fourth penned: “Imagine what’s going to happen when they find out Mack took the money…”

With viewers firmly standing against Mack’s decision’s, surely it’s only a matter of time before the truth comes out. But the question is, will someone get hurt before it does?

3 Emmerdale spoilers for tonight: Ross gets worried, and Tom enters his plea

In Emmerdale spoilers for tonight (December 4), Tom gives his plea, and Ross begins to take Jade’s threats seriously.

This week viewers have seen Angelica communicate with Tom, despite the fact he’s in prison. She doesn’t seem to mind though – could she feel connected with him since she just got back from prison herself?

Ross has also found himself in some trouble as Jade is back and blames him for her missing ten grand. But tonight, he starts to realise she isn’t playing with her threats.

Does Angelica help Tom? Will Ross find out Mack is to blame?

Full Emmerdale spoilers for tonight’s episode below.

    Emmerdale spoilers 1. Tom’s plea

Fans rejoiced as Tom was taken into custody last week, despite his attempts of escaping.

Tonight it’s his plea hearing and not surprisingly he pleads not guilty. Belle is the one to pass the news to Nicola.

But Nicola still has no idea that her daughter, Angelica, is currently in contact with Tom, after she put her details in when Jimmy decided he didn’t want anything to do with him.

Angelica seems to be believing Tom’s lies, so when he suggests that she tries to win Jimmy round to the anti-Belle stance – will she listen?

And just how much can Tom manipulate her whilst behind bars?

Emmerdale spoilers: Steph wants Ruby to forgive Anthony (Credit: ITV)

    2. Steph is desperate for Ruby to forgive Anthony

Since arriving in the village, Steph hasn’t been too close to either of her parents due to her own upbringing. But both Ruby and Caleb want their daughter to stick around.

However, tonight Steph makes it clear to Caleb that in order for them to ever be able to be a happy family, Ruby needs to forgive Anthony.

Up until now Ruby has made it clear Anthony isn’t welcome in her life – with viewers predicting there’s more to come, especially as flashback scenes are just around the corner.

But tonight she decides to give things a go for Steph and Caleb’s benefit. However, when they seem to be looking like a happy family, Ruby can’t help but distance herself very quickly.

Emmerdale spoilers 3. Jade’s threats become real for Ross

Jade give Ross an order to find out who stole her money and to get it back to her. So Ross sets out to do so, aware Jade isn’t someone to mess with.

When he starts accusing people, John inadvertently covers for Mack, who viewers know is actually the culprit.

But when Ross is left terrified over the rising threat of both Moses and April, he sets out to keep them safe.

He tries to convince Charity to take Moses away for a while but Charity refuses to do so.

However, April seems to still be unaware of the threat against her. Will Ross be able to protect them both? And will Mack feel guilty if anything happened to them?

4 spoilers for tonight: Eric faces the music, and Ross gets a harsh warning

In Emmerdale spoilers for tonight, Pollard faces an angry Brenda, and Tom manipulates Angelica.

Fans have seen Eric’s health deteriorate lately. Just last week he opened up to Leyla on how he has put his entire savings into cryptocurrency. And things are only set to look worse.

Also as Tom is finally behind bars for his abusive behaviour, he still finds a way to control someone. This time, he turns his attention to someone close to home.

All of this and more in Emmerdale spoilers for tonight’s episode.

    1. Eric faces the music

After realising there is no money in his account, Eric is terrified that he has made a huge mistake.

And now Brenda knows everything, Pollard has to prepare himself to face her anger.

But he isn’t giving up, as he is determined to make things right. However, those attempts don’t go down well.

Soon enough, Brenda is questioning if Eric even wanted to marry her, or if his decision was influenced by his medication.

As Brenda is devastated, Eric has to live with the heartbreak and turmoil he has caused. Can he make things right with Brenda? Or is this the beginning of the end for the couple, especially as we know Brenda is leaving the village.

    2. Tom is still pulling strings

Just when everyone thinks Tom is finally out of the picture, he proves how manipulative he can really be.

The only other member of his family that he hasn’t had a chance to try and win over is Angelica.

With his niece having spent time away for causing the death of Heath, Angelica has been feeling that she is evil lately. And although Jimmy and Nicola have been trying to make her see this isn’t the case, it appears Tom is the one to get through to her.

Tonight, she finds herself being reeled in by his flattery, and soon enough she’s on Team Tom and believes his anti-Belle stance.

    3. Mack taunts Ross

When Ross Barton returned recently, he made it clear to Mackenzie who Moses’ father was.

But as time has gone on, Ross keeps messing up. And Mack is the one who gets to pick up the pieces.

Nobody knows that Mack is the one who stole Jade’s money, and he is chuffed with himself knowing he can provide for his family more than Ross can.

This is something he wastes no time in taunting Ross with – leaving the Emmerdale bad boy furious.

    4. Ross gets a warning

We’re sure that whenever Ross finds out Mack stole the money he will be out for revenge. But until then, Ross has to deal with the fact Jade blames him. And tonight she makes it extremely clear to him there are consequences to the money going missing.

She gives him a harsh warning, telling him what will happen if he doesn’t find a way to give her the ten thousand pounds.

And it seems that no matter how many times Ross assures her it wasn’t him who stole it – she does not believe him.

Will Ross manage to find the money? Or will those closest to him face the consequences?

  • Steph pregnancy to expose Cain and Ruby affair? Hot Emmerdale fan theory

Steph pregnancy to expose Cain and Ruby affair? Hot Emmerdale fan theory

In typical soap fashion, a new Emmerdale theory suggests a shock pregnancy for Steph may be the catalyst for Cain and Ruby’s secret to be exposed.

Everyone knows secret one-night stands never stay quiet in Emmerdale. Especially when the person strays with someone close to home.

Viewers were left unhappy a few weeks ago when Cain slept with Ruby, his brother’s wife, while Moira was in brain surgery.

In a twist that has been deemed “completely unnecessary”, Cain and Ruby agreed it stays between them.

Cain and Ruby's secret to be exposed by Steph?
Emmerdale theory suggests Steph pregnancy may expose Cain and Ruby (Credit: ITV)

Cain and Ruby’s secret is a ticking bomb

But coming up, Cain’s guilt begins to eat away at him, and we know he gets arrested for his behaviour. But fans aren’t convinced he will confess to his wife.

Instead they think it will be Steph, Ruby and Caleb’s daughter, who forces the secret out.

Around the same time as Cain and Ruby, Steph herself had a bunk-up with Emmerdale bad boy Ross Barton. So when Caleb spotted the morning after pill packaging in the rubbish, he just assumed it was hers.

However, we know it was actually Ruby’s. And, as Emmerdale made a point of showing Caleb find the packaging, everyone believes that will have to play into the reveal.

Could Steph be pregnant with Ross' baby?
    Is Steph pregnant? (Credit: ITV)

Emmerdale theory suggests pregnancy for Steph

One new theory suggests Steph may actually be pregnant with Ross’ baby, and so obviously Caleb will then question what he found – leading to a huge bombshell hitting him and Moira.

The Emmerdale theory was first posted on a Reddit thread, and fans were quick to agree that it made sense.

One commented: “She will at least have a pregnancy scare and this is how Caleb will realise the morning-after pill packaging he found in the trash was not Steph’s.”

Another added: “I can totally see this happening!”

“They also made a point of showing the ‘this never happened’ text that Ruby sent to Cain. Either Caleb or Moira will see it,” a third penned.

Although, while many agreed, another fan suggested an alternative that would also bring another side to Anthony into the mix.

They wrote: “I thought Ruby’s dad would somehow figure out about Ruby and Cain. He could blackmail her about keeping quiet so he could stay in the village.”

While Mike Parr recently admitted he would love Ross to remain single, if Steph was pregnant, would Ross appreciate the chance to do fatherhood right? We know he is set to step away from trying with Moses..

Either way, it’s only a matter of time before Moira and Caleb find out. And we’re sure there will be fireworks whenever they do.

Emmerdale spoilers: Ross makes a big decision when he realises Moses is frightened of him

In Emmerdale spoilers next week, Ross Barton is shocked when he realises son Moses is scared of him, leading to him making a big decision.

Ross returned to Emmerdale in October after six years away. He wasted no time in trying to get back with former flame Charity – who is the mother of Moses.

Ross attempted to kiss Charity and told her he wanted to move in with her and Moses. Charity, however, was adamant that her heart was with Mack and she only cared about Ross for Moses’ sake.

Ross has become determined to be a good dad to his son, but next week he is stopped in his tracks to learn that Moses is petrified of him. How will he deal with it?

    Emmerdale spoilers: Ross’s realisation

Since returning to Emmerdale, Ross has tried to be a good father to his son Moses. Having been involved in illegal underground fighting, Ross tried to give it up at Charity’s request.

However, it’s still not been plain sailing and next week Ross realises that Moses is actually petrified of him.

Knowing that he’s made Moses not want to be near him, Ross is defeated. But Charity is resolute as she sends him packing.

    Ross makes a decision

During Ross’s time away, Mack was been a father figure to Moses. Since being back, this has wound Ross up and the two men have shared plenty of angry words. Ross even punched Mack on one occasion.

Next week, following on from the realisation that his son is scared of him, Ross decides he has to make things right.

However, when he once again observes the close bond between Mack and Moses, he decides to abandon his plans to reconcile with his son.

Will survived Ross’ attack, but is it about time he pegs it?

Will is alive, last night’s episode of Emmerdale revealed. This came as he survived Ross‘s attack, which had been at the behest of scheming Kim – in an attempt to make her mooching husband leave the village.

Given a scare after Ross and Will led her to believe she’d gotten him killed, a relieved Kim made up with Will as he returned home, revealing how he’d teamed up with Ross to turn the tables.

And, as they headed back down from the bedroom more loved-up than ever, it seemed as though their marriage was back on track.

Later, as Will met with Kim’s former flame, Peter, he seemed keen to back out of their arrangement. Love’s not dead after all, and neither is Will.

    Shame.

Emmerdale fans left disappointed as Will lives

Writing on X as these scenes aired, fans shared their disappointment at the continued survival of Will Taylor – who many suspected may have been killed on Friday.

“Oh Emmerdale had the opportunity to get rid of Will,” said one dismayed viewer.

“So we’ve got Will for the foreseeable then,” sighed another.

“Knew it was good to be true that we’d be rid of Will,” a third said.

“Will’s still alive. My disappointment overflows,” wrote a fourth.

Has the soap wasted an opportunity to get rid of ‘dead wood’ Will?

    Operation destroy Kim continues

There was a further twist in store last night with the arrival of scheming solicitor Peter.

As Will met with Peter to call their plan off, the soap revealed that the pair had teamed up to bring Kim down.

Will is now having second thoughts after reconciling with Kim, but is it too late to call things off?
