April’s shocked, as is Laurel, who overhears every word of Arthur’s confession.
Appalled at the thought of her son bedding a man old enough to be his father, Laurel decides to have it out with John. But will Arthur set her straight and admit he made the whole thing up?

Catching up with Ruby, Moira admits her fears for the future. Ruby, who’s also going through a tough time following the sudden death of her mum, shares her worries about the cremation.

In next week’s Emmerdale spoilers, Moira makes a fatal error at Butlers that results in multiple deaths. The tragic incident only further fuels Mack and Matty’s fears for her health. But can they persuade headstrong Moira to slow down?

Moira vows its business as usual in Emmerdale spoilers
Moira’s life has been turned upside down since being diagnosed with a brain tumour.
In the aftermath of the terrifying barn fire, Moira suffered a seizure in front of husband Cain. A scan at the hospital detected a mass on her brain, and doctors revealed Moira had a meningioma, a type of non cancerous tumour.
Medics have opted for a ‘wait and see’ approach to treatment, and Moira has said no to brain surgery. So now she’s left facing a very uncertain future. But despite her terror and fear, Moira is determined to carry on as normal. Her priorities are being a mum, wife, and of course, running her beloved Butlers.
But has she underestimated the toll its going to take on her already fragile health?

Moira makes a grave error at work
Matty is deeply concerned for his mum’s wellbeing and decides to move in to keep a closer eye on her. Moira is annoyed when she sees her son arriving with a holdall and carries on insisting she’s fine.
But that’s really not the case, and as Moira’s erratic behaviour continues, Mack and Matty make a worrying discovery.
Mack finds Butlers’ flock of sheep have somehow escaped and accuses Moira of forgetting to shut them in properly. Moira agrees to stop going out alone, but it’s too little too late when Mack and Matty locate the sheep.
They discover the majority of the flock are dead, and one is them is in a very bad state. Can the poor creature be saved?

Moira turns to Ruby for support
News of fatalities leaves Moira distraught as she struggles to remember how – or why – the sheep ended up escaping in the first place.
But the upsetting incident is also a wake-up call, as Moira accepts she needs to take a break from farming and focus on her wellbeing.
Afterwards, she reaches out to former nemesis Ruby, who’s also in distress after the death of her late mum, Helen. Ruby spent 30 years estranged from her parent before her passing.
As the ladies get talking, Moira opens up about her health struggles, while Ruby discusses her mother’s cremation. Will their shared pain help give Moira and Ruby strength to carry on?
Our Emmerdale review this week is mostly just full of confusion. After the thrills and spills of last week’s barn fire, it’s been a bit quieter, a bit baffling, and we have to admit – a bit disappointing.
Here’s what’s been leaving us wanting in this week’s Emmerdale review.
Like a twisted game of Taskmaster, Kim’s revenge sent Will hunting through the woods for clues (Credit: ITV)
Just to recap. Will cheated with his ex, Rose and thought he’d got away with it. But unbeknownst to him, Kim had worked it all out.
In the meantime, Will got a mysterious message from a mysterious blackmailer, demanding £10k to keep his secret. He sold his precious watch – the one Kim had bought him as a wedding present – for the cash. But when he was on his way to the drop-off, he found out about the barn fire and went to help, getting injured in the process.
Anyhoo, that didn’t sit right with his blackmailer, who then upped the price to £50k and nicked Kim’s horse too. And then finally Kim herself vanished. A frantic Will had to follow strange instructions and the distant strains of Fleetwood Mac to find his kidnapped wife.
It was like some weird, twisted version of Taskmaster, as he was forced to dig a grave, spurred on by a recording of Kim’s voice shouting for help. And what did he uncover? A coffin with his own name on it. Seriously who has the time or the energy to set all that up?
Kim’s got a grave to dig and a coffin to buy (Credit: ITV)
Surprised? Nope.
Well, we were about to find out! Because the blackmailer appeared and what do you know? It was Kim all along! Hands up if you were surprised? No? Neither were we.
What we were surprised about, though, was the HUGE amount of effort Kim put into this ridiculous revenge plot. Buying a coffin with Will’s name on it, and burying it. Dressing a mannequin up as herself. Laying the trail for him to follow… the whole thing was ridiculously complicated, time-consuming, expensive and totally bonkers (and not in a good way!).
If we’re being honest, it was all very unlike Kim. Ms Tate is the mastermind behind a business empire. She is no fool.
She wanted to make Will pay, which is really no less than he deserves, the big wally. We get that.
But we reckon she’d have done it in a cold, calculating Kim kind of way. Not this elaborate prank that served no purpose – Kim’s better than that!
Caleb and Ruby have a daughter! (Credit: ITV)
More Miligans!
The biggest news of this week, though, was Caleb and Ruby talking about their daughter Stephanie! She was mentioned by Ruby’s dying mum, Helen, and then by Caleb and Ruby.
Obviously, we’re now desperate to meet her and to find out what they did that made her cut them off!
Ruby and Caleb are a great addition to Emmerdale (when Caleb’s not weirdly fixating on Kim that is) and we’re really enjoying finding out more about Ruby’s back story especially. Though we love Sharon Maughan and we’re sad we didn’t get to see Helen and Ruby together.
But like we said, now we’re eager to find out more about Stephanie and hopefully meet her too. In fact, we’re busy putting together a wishlist of actresses who could play her. Watch this space!
Nate’s alive!
One disappointment this week was finding out that Nate is alive! We didn’t wish him dead, but his exit seemed so brutal and unfair, we were convinced he was really another victim of the fire.
We pictured Cain calling his son, ready to apologise, only for the camera to focus on the phone ringing out as Nate lay unconscious nearby. We imagined his final hours – once someone (probably Mack, let’s be honest) had found him. Nate in a hospital bed, Cain and Tracy waiting to say sorry for the awful things they said. And then the long beep as his life slipped away… SOB!
But instead we got a half-hearted mention of him settling into his new life in Shetland. Is that really it?

Emmerdale tonight saw Kim finally outed as Will’s blackmailer. Despite the fact we’d all worked it out, Will hadn’t and was left in a deep hole – literally and metaphorically – when she finally revealed herself.
Meanwhile, Moira was still struggling and Caleb was trying to cover his tracks. Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale on Thursday September 19.
Will still hadn’t worked it out (Credit: ITV)
Kim was revealed as Will’s blackmailer in a total shock
Will met with Caleb and signed the contract for the cash without even reading it. Probably signed his life away, but who cares?
Soon, Will got a call from, er, himself – or at least someone using his voice at the other end of the phone. Kim was missing, and he had to follow directions to find her.
When he got to the location, he found a creepy mannequin with Kim’s face on it. He then followed more instructions taking him to a speaker playing Tell Me Lies and a spade. The instructions were to dig. And when he heard Kim’s voice shouting for help, he started to dig.
He found a coffin in the ground and feared Kim had been buried in there. What he found was a walkie talkie with Kim shouting out ‘Will’ before he was hit over the head with a spade and knocked into the coffin – by none other than Kim herself. Well would you believe it? Who would ever have worked out Kim was behind all this? That was such a shocking reveal…
As we picked our mouths up off the floor, Will still hadn’t worked it out as he asked Kim what was going on. She spelt it out for him and he confessed he had slept with Rose.
Will, who at this point had done his back in and couldn’t get out of the coffin, begged Kim to hear him out. But she wasn’t that interested. She took the bag of cash, and Will’s phone, and left him in the hole, making it clear their marriage was over. “How will I get out of this hole?” Will cried. We have no idea Will, none at all.
Dawn confronted Billy over his money (Credit: ITV)
Billy was keeping secrets in Emmerdale tonight
Dawn had finally taken her hair out of her mum bun and was looking rather glam, but Billy was acting shifty. She then couldn’t help herself snooping in his bag and found wads of cash…
She confronted him and he claimed to have been saving up for a while. But Dawn railed at him for not helping out when they were struggling to pay their bills. He covered and said he was planning to book a surprise holiday. She bought it hook, line and sinker, but it was clear to everyone watching he wasn’t telling the truth.
And lo and behold he soon made a phone call asking for more work from a ‘mate’ and that he’s up for whatever. Because, that doesn’t sound dodgy at all. We also think this rules him out of working with Kim because in what universe would anyone address Kim Tate as ‘mate’?!
Moira had another seizure
Things were building up for Moira. She was relieved the fire has been ruled as an accident, but still doesn’t think the insurance company will pay out.
Meanwhile, Cain confided in Liam his worries about Moira not getting the operation. But Liam gave him some strong words of advice: don’t run away.
Brenda then gave Moira some words of wisdom ‘from one brain tumour sufferer to another’. But Moira wasn’t really interested, until Brenda explained Cain’s anger was at the tumour, not at Moira herself.
Moira then returned home, thoughtful, but ended up having to look after Isaac by herself when Mack was called away. What could go wrong?
Well, a lot it turned out as Moira had a seizure with little Isaac just by her side. Cain returned in the nick of time and helped Moira come round. But it turned out Isaac had already acted and dialled 999 – bless him, give that boy a medal.
And Isaac’s devastation and pleas might finally have made Moira see sense about the surgery. Or have they?
Caleb and Ruby are the executors of Helen’s will (Credit: ITV)
Caleb worked to cover his tracks in Emmerdale tonight
Trying to be upbeat, Ruby was faced with a mountain of responsibility as she dealt with the paperwork surrounding her mother’s death. But Caleb grew twitchy at the thought of her contacting solicitors knowing his little transfer secret might be exposed if Ruby digs too deep.
Fortunately for Caleb he has been named alongside Ruby as the executor of Helen’s will. So he might just be able to do some fiddling to keep his secret safe.
However, Ruby wasn’t interested in finances at this point, she’s suddenly remembered she has a daughter – the mysterious Stephanie, who has barely been mentioned and has now been brought up twice in a week. If that’s not a great big flashing light saying Stephanie is on her way to the Dales, then we don’t know what is.
Also in Emmerdale tonight…
Jai tried to make amends again
Jai invited Arthur to his Spiderman fest tonight, but Arthur made it clear he wants nothing at all to do with him. There was good news for Jai when Caleb confirmed the investment had gone through.
Arthur later had a date, who he had seemingly met on an online dating app. They were clearly both nervous as they cracked open some beers and tried to get to know each other better.
When Arthur went to dispose of the beer cans later and he and his date almost kissed, they were spotted by Jai. But it was very unclear whether Jai was on his side or not or whether Jai would tell Laurel what he overheard – which was Arthur bragging how many men he’d been with. How very un-Arthur-like.
Ryan looked disappointed when Gail didn’t want to move in (Credit: ITV)
Gail and Ryan took things to a new level
Gail was very upset because her rat, Daniel, had died. She blamed her housemate for not feeding him. Gail decided she was moving out and Ryan was thrilled and suggested he make more space in his wardrobe for her. But she told him she wanted to find a place of her own and Ryan was visibly disappointed.
Gail explained she didn’t want to ruin what they had by rushing into it. But then a quick offer of a gravesite for Daniel in the garden sealed the deal and she changed her mind, agreeing to move in. Will Gail and Ryan regret it?
Lydia and Jimmy had a heated row (Credit: ITV)
Jimmy and Lydia went head to head in Emmerdale tonight
As they locked horns over Tom’s behaviour, Lydia and Jimmy weren’t exactly friends. But then the subject changed and Lydia managed to get Jimmy to spill all about Will’s blackmail. The pair realised they had to do something to save Kim, but can the unlikely superheroes save the day?
Last night’s episode of Emmerdale saw Ruby Fox-Miligan learn that her mother had died. However, something about the whole situation didn’t sit right with fans – and some were wondering whether estranged mum Helen is really dead.
With shady Caleb having demanded a sizeable cash injection from Helen the night before – having, uh, blackmailed a dying woman – many found the timing of it all to be rather suspicious.
Caleb blackmailed Ruby’s mother… and now she’s dead (Credit: ITV)
Ruby learns her mother has died
Helen’s death came as Ruby was summoned to the hospital, where her mum was gravely ill. However, upon arrival, Ruby was informed that she was too late – and her mother had already died, 20 minutes ago.
Back at home, Ruby shared the news with Caleb, who kept tight-lipped over the fact he’d been the last one to see Helen before she died – and was now sitting on her fortune.
But is there more to her mum’s death than meets the eye?
Fans think Helen might still be alive (Credit: ITV)
Ruby’s mum lives, suggest Emmerdale fans
Writing on a Reddit thread, fans shared their theories about whether Ruby’s mum could really be dead.
“Is Ruby’s mum actually dead – because at the end of tonight’s episode Caleb got payment from her?” asked one fan.
“I haven’t checked the credits but wasn’t the actress playing the mum Sharon Maughan? She’s quite a big name to have only one scene and then pop her clogs. I reckon she’ll be back,” said another.
“When they’re going through their estate there are going to be questions. If this was supposed to be in any way realistic, giving away £100 grand right before you die looks like you’re trying to avoid inheritance tax. But I suspect it’ll never come up again,” said another, more realistically.
Does Helen have another surprise up her sleeve for Ruby and Caleb?
Things came up trumps for Caleb in Emmerdale tonight when he received the money from Ruby’s mum. But he only found out after Ruby had discovered her mum had died. So now he’s got a very guilty secret to keep.
Meanwhile, Will thought he’d sorted his little problem, but it seems Kim’s behaviour is troubling him. Plus, Moira dropped a bombshell on Cain.
Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight, Wednesday September 18.

Caleb’s quids in as Ruby’s mum dies
It was Nicky’s birthday and Ruby couldn’t get hold of him. It’s the first year she hasn’t seen him and Ruby was upset. More upset, it seems, than the fact there is another daughter who she never sees or mentions. Unless Stephanie is not her daughter at all?
Ruby was then called to the hospital by the doctors to see her mother – but discovered she was too late as Helen had already died. Caleb had taken tips from Tom the lurker and was lurking in the hospital corridor, behind a trolley, listening to the news get delivered. But it seems he was more worried about the fact he’d lost his money.
Ruby then went in to see her mum’s body and asked why she wanted to see her before she died. Emotional Ruby told the body she had had plenty of time to say sorry, so why did she wait. She also asked if her mum had ever loved her.
Back at home, Caleb was waiting, pretending he didn’t know anything. He played innocent as Ruby explained what had happened. Then he played the supportive husband comforting his wife as she offloaded her emotional turmoil.
But then it turned out Helen did transfer the money before she died! Hurrah for Caleb. Except now he’s really got to keep this covered up from his wife. Ruby is upset she will never know what her mum wanted to say to her, Caleb knows he stopped their reunion from happening all for the sake of money and if Ruby finds out, it might be all over. The truth never stays buried in Emmerdale for long, though…
Will got what he needed from Caleb (Credit: ITV)
Kim blew hot and cold in Emmerdale tonight
Yes, the Will blackmail saga is still dragging on, but rest assured tomorrow all will be revealed – we think. And we hope.
Kim is still being far, far too nice to Will for our liking. She’s given him a new watch and is fawning over him. For his part, he’s lapping up the attention and insisting he knows how lucky he is. He then got a message saying the price has gone up to £50k
Will turned to Caleb in a panic to get a loan of £40k. He told him he’d give him the haulage yard as collateral. Will has three months to pay it back or he’ll sign over his shares. Jackpot for Caleb because this is just what he wanted! Something tells us he’ll make sure Will can’t pay it back.
But just as Will thought his plan was all coming together, Kim blew him off for lunch. She was too upset about Tally to eat, apparently. Will claimed to understand, but is he finally putting the piece together?
Moira and Cain sit on the sofa together (Credit: ITV)
Moira blew up
In spite of her brain tumour, Moira does not want everyone fussing over her and is fed-up of people making her feel completely useless. She snapped at Matty and Amy, and it was hard to know whether it was the tumour talking or if actually they were being quite annoying and deserved it!
Cain was still struggling and confided in Chas as he fixed Eve’s bike. He told his sister he and Moira were ‘cool’ and Cain Dingle using the word ‘cool’ was more than enough to ring alarm bells! He admitted he was scared and the tumour had changed Moira.
But then he went home and he and Moira got jiggy on the sofa, so it seems he’s putting his fears aside to be ‘supportive’.
However, Moira then dropped the bombshell she wasn’t having the operation on her brain. She accused him of not having her corner and stormed off. Cain didn’t know whether he was coming or going. But can he persuade her to get the surgery?
Also in Emmerdale tonight…
Dawn wasn’t in the mood to celebrate
It was Dawn’s birthday. And Will had forgotten. But Billy wanted to give her a proper celebration, only he can’t afford it and they can’t go anywhere because of Evan. Billy promised her a holiday to Cornwall so he could show off his surfing skills – what a birthday treat!
Jai tried to apologise to Arthur (Credit: ITV)
Jai couldn’t win Arthur over
Wanting to be a dad to Arthur, Jai tried to apologise, but Arthur wasn’t having it. He told Jai he hated him. Then Jai snapped at Charles, who later tried to offer more counsel. Jai confided he misses his family – Arthur, Laurel and Dotty. Charles advised him to fight for the kids and make sure Arthur knows Jai is there for him.
His advice didn’t exactly go to plan though, when Arthur plain ignored him next time they crossed paths. Best think again, Jai!
Emmerdale fans were given a brief insight into Ruby‘s backstory in Tuesday’s episode, as Caleb went to visit her estranged mum in the hospital. Viewers were introduced to Helen, played by actress Sharon Maughan.
Helen made it clear she is keen to reconnect with Ruby, following many years of no contact. However, it seemed like Caleb wasn’t in favour of welcoming her back into their lives. A dodgy money deal followed, but it remains to be seen what Ruby will think of her mum coming back into her life.
Emmerdale fans were more distracted by actress Sharon’s appearance however, with many failing to recognise the star. Here’s everything you need to know about Helen’s arrival in Emmerdale.

Sharon Maughan’s Emmerdale debut
Emmerdale viewers were introduced to Ruby’s estranged mum, Helen, in recent scenes. Helen is ill and currently residing in hospital. Caleb paid her a secret visit, where Helen revealed she regrets being estranged from her daughter and she is now divorced from Ruby’s dad.
Caleb and Helen argued over Ruby, who is unaware her husband has been to visit her mum. Eventually, Caleb struck up in a deal with his mother-in-law. He said he’d bring Ruby to see Helen if she will send him £100,000, which she agreed to.
However, Caleb could be seen riddled with guilt as he returned home and reflected on the deal he’d just made. Despite this, he still didn’t mention anything to Ruby, who was suspicious of his unexplained late arrival home.

Fans brand Sharon ‘unrecognisable’
Emmerdale fans were left taken aback after realising it was Sharon, 74, portraying Ruby’s ill mum. Following Tuesday evening’s episode, viewers shared their shock over Sharon’s transformation, with some even questioning if it was really her.
Taking to social media, one person pondered: “She looks like the woman off the Nescafe ads from the 80s/90s , Sharon Maughan,” while a second added: “I was thinking the same thing, l wonder if it is her, Sharon Maughan.”
Somebody else pointed out that the make-up team will have been busy getting Sharon into character. The fan added: “They’ve probably made her look worse as she’s supposed to be dying!”
Another simply pointed out: “The wonderful Sharon Maughan.”
“Gosh, I didn’t recognise her,” exclaimed another. A further user commented: “So different, I didn’t recognise her at all.”
Someone else wrote: “I was trying all the time Emmerdale was on to work out where I knew her from!”
Caleb and Ruby don’t appear to be big fans of Ruby’s mum (Credit: ITV)
What do we know about Ruby’s mum?
It has been confirmed that Helen will appear in a limited number of episodes.
Actor William Ash, who plays Caleb, has shed some light on Helen’s arrival. He shared some insight into Ruby and Helen’s relationship, as well as Caleb’s issues with his mother-in-law.
Speaking during a virtual press conference, the actor said: “So, Ruby and Caleb don’t have any relationship with Ruby’s mum at all. Basically, what her mum and her dad did, when Ruby and Caleb got together, when they were about 17, they really disliked Caleb. They hated him because he’d come out of a care home and didn’t have any family. I think they just thought he was beneath their daughter.
“So, Helen was really snobby and judgemental. Helen and Ruby’s dad gave Ruby an ultimatum,” William continued. “They basically said ‘look if you want to be with this boy then we don’t want anything to do with you’. They basically just cut Ruby dead.”
It was revealed last night that Helen had offered Caleb money to break up with Ruby. She’d then tried to force her daughter to have an abortion when she fell pregnant and when Ruby refused had cut her off completely.
Caleb and Ruby in Emmerdale have a daughter! This is HUGE!
And yes, we sort of knew about her but we didn’t know much. Or even if she really existed. Because, let’s face it, the Fox-Miligans are fond of twisting the truth.
But in tonight’s episode, Caleb went to see his mother-in-law, Helen, in the hospital where she was lying dying. They exchanged some heated words and Helen asked Caleb if he’d seen anything of Stephanie.
Caleb looked furious and he firmly told Helen that she should never mention his kids.
OOH!
Caleb is a master of keeping secrets (Credit: ITV)
Emmerdale: Who is Caleb and Ruby’s daughter, Stephanie?
So who is Stephanie? And could she come to Emmerdale any time soon?
When Caleb first arrived in the village, he told Leyla that he had ‘kids’. Plural. Back then, of course, we didn’t know Nicky was his son.
And Nicky did mention a sister too. Though he also told Gabby that he was one of five siblings, that his mum was dead and that he was in love with her, so we can’t believe everything Nicky said.
But when Caleb was encouraging Nicky to keep going with the plot to scam Kim, he said it was important to keep his mum and sister in their house.
Ruby hasn’t mentioned her daughter (Credit: ITV)
Estranged? Missing? Adopted?!
Since then, though, no one has so much as mentioned a daughter. Ruby has spoken many times about how much she is missing Nicky, and how desperate she is to get hold of him as he avoids her calls.
We know that when she was young, Ruby got pregnant and her mum offered to pay her to have an abortion. Ruby chose Caleb instead and the pair made a go of family life.
What we don’t know is if that baby was Nicky! After all, it’s Nicky’s birthday this week and we reckon he’s turning 24, making him born in 2000.
And Ruby is in her late 40s. Which means she’d have been young – early 20s – when Nicky was born but not so young her parents would have had concerns.
So does that mean Stephanie is Nicky’s older sister? She could be in her 30s now. Perhaps with a family of her own.
We would LOVE for them all to rock up in Emmerdale. And chances are, now she’s been properly mentioned it won’t be too long…
But perhaps if Ruby had her daughter when she was just a teenager, she could have given her up for adoption. Perhaps they have fallen out? Perhaps Stephanie doesn’t want anything to do with her parents – just as Nicky doesn’t. Or a new theory suggests Stephanie is not Ruby’s daughter at all, but in fact, Caleb’s child with Ruby’s mum, Helen!
Whatever the back story is, we can’t wait to hear it!

In Emmerdale tonight we finally met Ruby’s mum after all of Caleb‘s suspicious phone calls with her. Meanwhile, Ruby was off making friends – with Mandy.
Also, Amelia continued to be blind to Tom’s true nature and frankly we’ve had enough of her.
Here’s everything that went on in Emmerdale tonight, Tuesday September 17.
Caleb’s been secretive again (Credit: ITV)
Caleb met Ruby’s mum in Emmerdale tonight
Still acting secretively (when isn’t he?!) Caleb took a trip to the hospital to visit Helen, Ruby‘s mum. She’s dying and wants to reconnect with her daughter. Caleb was adamant Helen would not get anywhere near Ruby, clearly there’s no love lost here. Years ago, Helen apparently tried to pay Caleb to ditch Ruby and then she told Ruby to get an abortion when she fell pregnant, and then she cut her off with nothing when Ruby refused. Mum of the year right here!
But Helen hit back: “Have you seen anything of Stepha…” Caleb cut her off before she could finish telling her not to mention his ‘kids” names. So that means there is another child, one that Ruby and Caleb never speak of… What’s happened to her? And just how long before this Stephanie arrives in the Dales? We’d wager before Christmas.
Anyway, Caleb did have a plan up his sleeve. As ever. If Helen gives him £100k he will get Ruby to see her. Helen agreed, but will Caleb keep his end of the bargain?
We’re not sure what to make of Helen yet. A dying woman elicits a certain amount of sympathy, but given what she did to her daughter, should we really care? And is Caleb just as bad for blackmailing her to his own end?
Amy talked to Amelia about Tom (Credit: ITV)
Amelia remains an idiot
Battle lines drawn, Amelia took it upon herself to confront Vanessa over suspending Tom. Vanessa thankfully gave her short shrift.
Then Amelia had the brass neck to tell Chas she wanted to be out of the pub as much as she could be because of the way everyone was treating Tom. That’s Chas who gave her a place to live when she had nowhere and no one and who is letting her stay despite her siding with Tom over Chas’s family, Belle. Cheeky mare.
Anyway, Amelia was also doing a really bad job of pretending she hadn’t heard from Tom, she even got Jimmy’s suspicions up, which is no mean feat.
Later on, Amy managed to convince Amelia to have a chat about things. She told Amelia she was worried about her, but Amelia just sung Tom’s praises. She doubled down on her accusations that Belle is making the whole thing up and she is the devil. Amy continued to try the gentle approach and Amelia did look like Amy was getting through to her. But honestly, we think she is so stupid, nothing is ever going to get really make her see sense until Tom shows his true colours to her – and even then, we’re not so sure.
Moira struggled with her condition
Cain continued to try and be supportive to Moira, but his bullish approach might not be the one.
Together they sat down to explain what was going on to Kyle and Isaac. But Moira didn’t exactly do it subtly and was quite dismissive of her son’s tears. Cain and Chas were worried as Moira clearly had no idea she was upsetting everybody. However, was Cain’s ‘everything will be fine’ way of tackling it really the best idea either?
Chas later told Moira she was being a bit too blunt, and Moira was devastated she had lost her self-awareness. Terrified of brain surgery and fearful she’ll be one of the ‘unlucky ones’ who doesn’t make it, Moira is really struggling. It’s going to be a long road through this, but Cain has promised to be by her side. Aw.

Ruby and Tracy went head to head in the shop and it all blew up and they argued over who was going to be Mandy’s new best mate. No, really.
Ruby won and Mandy agreed to come over with Paddy for dinner. Instead Mandy turned up with Bear because Paddy was too busy. Ruby was in hell as Caleb was late, but then she and Mandy started to get on like a house on fire and she ended up having a “brilliant time”. New BFFs forever then!
Elsewhere, Will is still moping around and whinging about his very scary blackmailer. The fact he hasn’t worked all this out yet is just another piece of proof, if ever we needed one, that he is no match for the great Kim Tate.
However, he did have one insight that might just put us back on his side, he managed to remind Jimmy how he didn’t always trust Tom. Jimmy insisted things had changed and Tom wasn’t faking his heartbreak. He then changed the subject and they talked about the blackmailer and just like that, we lost interest again.
In Emmerdale tonight, we *finally* found out where Nate has gone – and spoiler alert, he didn’t die in the fire like fans thought…
For the last few days, fans have been left seriously suspicious over Nate’s whereabouts. Actor Jurell Carter said his goodbyes to the soap last week – but viewers have pointed out a lot of holes in his exit storyline.
Some fans think he actually did move to Scotland like he planned whilst others think he was caught up in the barn fire.
And tonight (Monday, September 16), the truth is finally out.
Cain’s had a dramatic few weeks (Credit: ITV)
Emmerdale tonight: Cain reaches out to Nate
At the start of the Emmerdale episode, Cain was at the hospital with Moira – keen to get in touch with Nate. With Nate having apparently upped sticks to Shetland, Cain wanted to put the past few days behind them.
For those who forgot, Cain accused Nate of ‘kissing’ Moira – when in reality it was caused by her brain tumour.
But when he called up Nate later on, he didn’t pick up (hmm…)

Tracy upset over Nate news on Emmerdale tonight
Back in the village, an emotional Tracy was back at work following Nate’s apparent exit. Fans will recall Tracy was supposed to head off with Nate to Shetland and have their happy ending.
But then, after finding out about his ‘kiss’ with Moira, she called it off. Sometime later though, she seriously regretted it when she learned the truth.
Anyway, tonight, Victoria and Vanessa saw an emotional Tracey fresh from crying. And it turns out it had something to do with Nate…
Emmerdale reveals where Nate is
In Emmerdale tonight, Tracy received a text from Nate. Yes! A text! He is aliveeeeee!
It was the moment soap fans have been waiting for! And the message read: “Settling in, head’s a mess, don’t call me, I’ll call you when I’m ready.”
Wow, brutal.
Well there we have it! Nate is alive and in Shetland! He’s not burnt to a crisp and has not been killed!
Unless Tracy has turned into Annie from Misery and is keeping him hostage? Hmmmm. Emmerdale’s 2024 Christmas storyline maybe?
Ruby found comfort in Chas (Credit: ITV)
Ruby finds support in Chas
Elsewhere in the episode, Ruby was still left shaken after the barn fire, and with silver fox Caleb not showing his support, she ended up confiding in sister-in-law Chas. (The iconic duo we never knew we needed!)
Also, Moira went through her treatment options – whilst getting annoyed with her family’s constant interference.
The neurosurgeon ultimately suggested that Moira should follow a ‘watch and wait’ approach – which didn’t go down too well with Cain. So much so, he tipped a hospital table up and stormed out…
Cain and Mack clash
Mack ran after him and he soon gave Cain some home truths, with the pair getting into a rather tense shouting match…. Anyone else feeling a tad hot under the collar?
Afterwards, Mack then told Cain how ‘everyone’ is struggling with Moira’s diagnosis. After Cain said he wanted to do right by Moira, Mack proclaimed: “Good, then get a grip and be better!”
At the end of the episode though, Moira ended up confusing Cain for her son Adam Barton in a truly heartbreaking moment. We’re not crying, we promise!
