Tonight’s episode of Emmerdale saw a fuming Cain Dingle issue a death threat to Caleb after clashing with his brother in the Woolpack. Tensions between the pair have been at an all-time low since Caleb twigged that Cain slept with his wife, and he even tried to frame Cain for Anthony’s murder.
With his marriage to Moira on the rocks, Cain has been in no mood for Caleb and the brothers shared words in the pub.
Desperate to contain their argument, Chas ushered them all into the back room, where Cain revealed what his brother had tried to do.
As they continued to bicker, Cain issued Caleb a menacing threat.
“Just so you know, if you try anything like that again and I’m willing to do time – a long time. Because you’ll be joining Anthony,” he snarled, as the end credits rolled.
But could Cain really kill Caleb?

Cain to kill Caleb as feud intensifies?
While it seems unlikely that Cain would murder Caleb, lest we forget, there’s the matter of that flashforward still pending. At the start of the year, a series of flashforwards teased what was to come – the ice crash, the disposal of a body… Caleb flatlining on a hospital table, and Cain weeping over a mystery grave.
With tensions between the brothers unlikely to ease anytime soon, Caleb may still seek revenge on Cain. And, with Cain determined to keep his family safe at all costs, he may well strike out in an attempt to save his own skin.
But what happens next on Emmerdale? Here are our spoilers for the rest of the week.

As the group continue to argue, one of their number suggests that they go to the police. This leaves the others horrified, for fear their carefully stacked house of cards will come tumbling down.

In Emmerdale, Moira has just found out that Cain cheated on her with his brother’s wife – Ruby Fox-Miligan.
It’s been a secret that Cain’s been keeping for months but after the limo crash… Cain confessed everything. And, unsurprisingly, it didn’t go down well with his wife.
But, despite Moira finding out about the fling, we’re desperate for the couple to work things through and not give up on each other.

Emmerdale: Moira found out Cain and Ruby fling truth
Last year, when Moira was undergoing surgery for her brain tumour, Cain was busy getting it on with his brother’s wife – Ruby.
Ruby had been triggered by seeing her dad Anthony rock up in the Dales, keeping the fact that he’d sexually abused her as a child a secret from her family.
Giving herself a distraction, she headed to the garage and ended up sleeping with Cain (and we won’t ever forgive them for it!)
This week, after Caleb found out about Cain’s fling with Ruby, a fight broke out as Caleb crashed a limo.
Cain then returned home all beaten up… and Moira obviously had some questions. He then sat her down and told her that he loved her before admitting to sleeping with Ruby.
Moira didn’t even want to be near Cain after this, asking him not to touch her. She was heartbroken. And, so were we!
Coira can’t go anywhere (Credit: ITV)
Opinion: Coira mustn’t split up
It’s not looking good for Cain and Moira (aka Coira) as Moira struggles to process Cain’s revelation. We completely understand Moira’s upset, we too were furious when we saw Cain and Ruby’s one-night stand on-screen.
But, Cain and Moira have been through worse, haven’t they? We admit it took a good while for Cain to forgive Moira for having an affair with Nate all those years ago, but he did in the end.
Moira’s cheated before. And, so has Cain. But, they always find a way back to each other. There’s not a stronger couple in the village than Cain and Moira. They’ve been through so much, it would be a real shame to throw everything away now.
And now that poor Amy has passed away, Kyle will need a stronger and stable home environment more than ever now. He’ll need Cain and Moira together. He’ll need them to give him all their support as a couple without anymore upheaval.
This cannot be the end of Cain and Moira… We won’t accept it! We won’t!

In new Emmerdale spoilers, suspicious Steph vows to find out what Ruby and Caleb are hiding from her. And the pact to cover up Anthony’s murder begins to crumble as one of the conspirators threatens to go to the police.
Steph wants to know what has happened to Anthony (Credit: ITV)
Emmerdale spoilers: Steph is in the dark
Steph is sure her parents know more about Anthony’s disappearance than they’re letting on and is struggling to accept her grandad just did a moonlit flit. Of course, what Steph doesn’t yet realise is that Anthony was murdered and most of her family are in on it.
The evil abuser was killed by daughter Ruby, who suffocated him on the floor of the depot. She confessed her crime to Aaron, who had already spent a week thinking he was the murderer after attacking Anthony. Moments after killing her father, Ruby went home and told Caleb what she’d done. Caleb agreed to get rid of the body, but was beaten to it by John. Aaron’s boyfriend cleaned up the crime scene and disposed of Anthony’s corpse, but won’t tell anyone where it is.
Cain and Chas were next to be let in on Ruby’s killer secret and told the grim truth about Anthony being Steph’s real father. The six all agreed Steph must never find out the truth. They made a pact, but already cracks are starting to show.
Aaron and John fear they will be found out (Credit: ITV)
The Emmerdale six are under pressure
Further shocking secrets are revealed as the co-conspirators gather for crisis talks.
The group are horrified to learn Caleb deliberately went against their plan to stick together by attempting to frame Cain for the crime. Caleb wanted revenge after discovering Cain slept with Ruby. He arranged for the police to arrest Cain then planted Anthony’s missing tooth in the boot of his brother’s car. If it wasn’t for Aaron’s quick-thinking then Cain would certainly be facing life in prison for murder.
As everyone reels over Caleb’s betrayal, tempers start to flare. One person’s had enough of all the lies and deceit and reckons they should just go to the police.
But their crumbling resolve leaves the others fearing it will bring the house of cards tumbling down and implicate them all.
Steph is watching Ruby very closely (Credit: ITV)
Steph is on a mission in Emmerdale spoilers
Ruby and Caleb’s increasingly cagey behaviour also hasn’t unnoticed by Steph. She’s been watching the pair very closely and knows they aren’t being themselves or being honest with her.Â
After spying a tense exchange between her mum and Cain in the village, Steph renews her determination to get to the bottom of it all and find out what really happened to Anthony.
She’s clearly a woman on a mission. How long will it be before Steph’s digging leads her to the grisly truth?

Emmerdale spoilers for next week reveal how Caleb finds out the truth about his wife Ruby and brother Cain’s one night stand.Â
Back in November, while both facing a tough time in their personal lives, Cain and Ruby sought comfort in each other and slept together.
Anthony discovered the truth and while Caleb had him at gunpoint during a game of Russian Roulette, Anthony had vindictively revealed to Caleb that Ruby and Cain were having an affair.
This week, Caleb questioned Cain on Anthony’s accusations, but Cain denied everything. However, next week Caleb makes a discovery and realises that Anthony may not have been lying after all.Â
Last year, Caleb Miligan found an empty emergency contraceptive box in the bin. Ruby had actually taken the morning after pill herself, but Caleb was convinced it belonged to their daughter Steph, who had recently moved back home.Â
However, Caleb is confused next week when he discovers that Steph Miligan has been on contraception most of her adult life, so wouldn’t need the morning after pill.
When Steph later reveals to Caleb that she saw an awkward interaction between Cain and Ruby, Caleb is blindsided and starts to realise that Anthony may have been telling the truth about the pair after all.

Caleb breaks down
An emotional Caleb does his best to hold it together, but he soon breaks down in a toilet cubicle.Â
When Cain lies about his interactions with Ruby, Caleb’s theory is seemingly confirmed.Â
A seething Caleb tries his hardest not to attack his brother. How will he get his revenge?

In Emmerdale tonight, Marlon Dingle finally got the answers he’d been searching for as April began to open up (Thursday, February 6). April is in hospital recovering from complications surrounding her pregnancy – which tragically resulted in a stillbirth earlier this week.
As Marlon sat at his daughter’s bedside, she filled him in on what had happened to her, who the father was… and her plans for the coming weeks. Can Marlon continue to support troubled April?
Elsewhere, Charity struck gold as she dug for dirt on Joe, and Aaron opened his heart up to Ruby. But can she do the same for Caleb?
Meanwhile, news of April began to spread, and Leyla faced tough questions from Jacob.
Here’s everything that happened in Emmerdale tonight.
Marlon had a lot of questions for April (Credit: ITV)
April opened up to Marlon on Emmerdale tonight
As April recovered in hospital, she began to open up to her dad. Marlon‘s first questions were about the pregnancy – why didn’t she tell her parents? Did she even know?
She revealed how she’d been on the verge of telling them before finding out how her mum had died. Feeling as though she’d been lied to her whole life, why not a secret of her own?
Marlon told her that the police had looked into her social media accounts and knew she’d been taking drugs. She told him how she felt invisible in her own home; that she’d taken a background to Leo and Ivy and Rhona and his own stroke.
As she filled him in on the last month, she revealed how Becca had been stabbed while trying to get April’s purse back. Putting two and two together, Marlon realised that Becca had been the girl he’d identified. And the father of the baby?
It was then that April grew cold, insisting that he was just ‘a random lad at a party,’ and that she didn’t even know his name. She then asked what had happened to the baby. Accusing him of being glad that there was no longer a baby, she stressed that she wouldn’t be coming home.

April had a visitor
Later, Rhona snuck in as April slept, and the pair shared an emotional reunion. As she assured April that everything would be okay, Dylan watched through the window.
He was gone by the time Marlon returned. As the worried parents swapped notes, Marlon fretted that the daughter he once new was now gone forever.

Charity dug for dirt
With Joe and Dawn upstairs, Charity snooped around Home Farm. Panicking as Kim returned, she grabbed the closest thing to hand – a laptop – and snuck back out.
What will she find on Kim’s laptop?
Aaron tried to encourage Ruby to talk to Caleb (Credit: ITV)
Aaron and Ruby shared a heart-to-heart
Aaron paid a visit to Ruby, hoping to talk things out. Ruby – who was looking glamorous swigging cocktails alone at home – assured him that he had no reason to feel guilty, and should stop tormenting himself.
As they shot the breeze, Aaron opened up over his self-harm, telling her how the guilt of supposedly ‘killing’ Anthony had brought him to the verge of almost doing so again. He was concerned for her – that she was bottling up her own trauma and not talking to Caleb.
She admitted that she found it tough, and wished that Caleb was still in the dark about Anthony’s abuse. She spoke of how she’d pushed Steph away as a child and now felt rejected by Caleb, who pities her.
It was then that Caleb returned home. As Aaron left, Caleb entreated her to talk to him – a tone of voice she didn’t appreciate. He reassured her that he didn’t see her as a victim; that he loved her now more than ever.
Also on Emmerdale tonight…
Back in the Woolpack, Mary and Bob shared the gossip that April had been found, safe and sound. Nobody had bothered to tell Ross though, who walked in to be the recipient of good news for once.
Over at the Dingles, Gabby and Vinny snuck off for some alone time. Can she divert herself from naughty thoughts of Joe?
Lonely Leyla was at a loose end once more, with Jacob already having made lunch plans. He continued to press her on the restaurant she supposedly went to with Suzy, resulting in another flurry of excuses. Will Jacob cotton on to his mum’s loneliness?

This week’s Emmerdale revealed the plot twist we all suspected was coming – Aaron Dingle is innocent of murdering Anthony. The soap led us to believe that Aaron killed Anthony in a fit of rage. But it was really Ruby who suffocated the old man as he lay on the floor.
Caleb then helped cover up the crime. Together with Anthony and John, the foursome then agreed to keep silent for everyone’s sake.
From faked deaths to real ones, surprise returns and cover-ups, this is just the latest plot twist in a soap that’s had more than their fair share over the years. Join us as we look back at some of Emmerdale’s most memorable plot twists.
Kim had Emmerdale’s biggest-ever surprise in store (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock)
1. Kim Tate was alive in the ultimate Emmerdale plot twist
In one of the most infamous plot twists in soap history, Kim Tate was revealed to be alive after faking her death in 1997. Believed dead after apparently being found so at the wheel of her car, Kim led both husband Frank and the soap’s viewers to believe she’d died. Really, though, she’d jetted off on a jolly to the Caribbean.
The truth came out months later, when Kim returned to haunt Frank – revealing that it was a lookalike he’d wrongly identified as his dead wife. The shock proved too much for Frank, whose heart gave out while Kim looked on with satisfaction. Ours too.

2. The death of Viv and Terry
Few could have foreseen fan-favourites Terry Woods and Viv Hope dying in a brutal twist on their story, but that was how the infamous Post Office fire of 2011 played out.
After falling asleep with a bottle of wine inside her, Viv dozed off inside the Post Office, oblivious to the fire starting around her. Terry rushed inside to rescue Viv, only to die with her in the ensuing explosion. Talk about going out with a bang.
Holly’s death shocked everyone (Credit: ITV/YouTube)
4. The death of Holly Barton was the most shocking ever Emmerdale plot twist
One of the best-kept secrets in soap history, the demise of Holly Barton truly came out of the blue. The day began like any other, and as Moira entered the bedroom to check up on her daughter, she was shocked to find Holly dead – having died of an overdose. Prior to this, the soap had given no indication that Holly had succumbed to her addiction again.
Holly surprised us again last year, returning in a dream sequence as Moira underwent life-saving brain surgery.
Cameron finished what Chas had started (Credit: ITV/YouTube)
5. Cameron killed Carl King
Nasty piece of work Carl King was killed after making an enemy of half the village. Blackmailing Chas after learning she’d been having an affair with Cameron Murray, he grew obsessed with getting his ex back.
After being spurned yet again after she married Dan Spencer, Carl confessed that he killed his father for her – and then attempted to rape her. She fought him off with a brick, before fleeing.
However, Chas ultimately wasn’t the one who finished Carl off. No, that was Cameron, who found Carl in his state and, after arguing, hit him a second (and final) time with the same brick.
Rebecca didn’t have an easy time of it (Credit: ITV)
Rebecca was thought dead until she managed to escape – reuniting with her friends and son Seb at her own graveside. She and Ross left the village in 2018 – only for her to die off-screen during a routine operation. Poor Rebecca never could catch a break.
Meena was deadlier than anyone could have anticipated (Credit: ITV)
7. Meena was a serial killer
In 2021, nurse Meena Jutla shocked audiences by killing Doctor Liam’s daughter, Leanna Cavanagh. However, neither viewers nor the cast were prepared for the truth behind the situation. Innocent-faced Meena was a serial killer.
Having been brought on with the story in mind, star Paige Sandhu kept the storyline a secret from her fellow cast members – revealing how shocked they were when they discovered that Meena was a secret serial killer.
Paige prepared to play a psychopath by watching Taxi Driver, American Psycho and Killer Women with Piers Morgan (whether she took inspiration from the killer women or Piers Morgan to get inside the mind of a soulless monster is unclear).
Cain helped cover up a murder (Credit: ITV)
8. Kyle shot Al Chapman
When someone shot resident love rat Al Chapman dead, Cain was facing a stretch behind bars. While it was true that Cain had brought the gun in the first place, he wasn’t the one who pulled the trigger.
Instead, the soap revealed that it had been little Kyle who killed Al. Thankfully, Cain managed to clear his name, and the whole thing was swept under the rug in the months which followed.
Rishi was killed on his son’s wedding day (Credit: ITV)
9. Rishi took a tumble in a tragic Emmerdale plot twist
After learning that his biological father – well, wasn’t – Jai took the frustration out on the man who’d brought him up. So bad was their feud, that he even forbade the old man from coming to his wedding, leaving Rishi heartbroken.
Jai relented, and as the big day beckoned, the family tried to reach Rishi. Ultimately, he never made it, which was when the soap shared the terrible news – Rishi was dead, having taken a fall (or as it happened, a push) down the stairs.
Joe’s back… but for how long? (Credit: ITV)
10. Joe Tate’s alive… for now
He was thought dead after seemingly being killed by Cain Dingle. However, Joe had survived – with father figure and mentor Graham helping him to fake his own death. A shock twist revealed, months later, that Joe had survived his run-in with Cain and was now living abroad.
Caleb schemed with son Nicky to take down Kim (Credit: ITV)
11. Caleb the secret Tate
Caleb Miligan arrived in the village in a shroud of mystery, introduced as Cain Dingle’s long-lost brother. But it was another dales dynasty Caleb had it out for – and the soap revealed that he was none other than the illegitimate son of Kim’s ex, Frank Tate.
In a series of plot twists, viewers learned that Caleb had a son of his own – Nicky Miligan – and it was all part of Caleb’s grand scheme to bring Kim down.
Who killed Craig? (Credit: ITV)
12. It was the horse who done it
When Lydia Dingle’s rapist, Craig, was found dead in a field, there was no shortage of potential murderers. Husband Sam and brother-in-law Cain were the usual suspects, but any Dingle could (and would!) realistically have done it.
The truth was far stranger than that – and it was revealed that Craig died after being kicked in the head by Kim Tate’s horse.
The plot twist we’d all rather forget (Credit: ITV)
13. Cain slept with Ruby in the worst ever Emmerdale plot twist
Not all plot twists are welcome ones. And, as Moira lay in hospital undergoing treatment for her brain tumour, Cain cheated on his wife – with his own sister-in-law.
Fans were left horrified by Cain and Ruby’s fling, and the soap has done little to convince us that it was a good idea in the months following.

As Ruby in Emmerdale has been revealed as Anthony’s true killer and not Aaron, fans have applauded her for taking control away from her abusive father.
When Aaron beat Anthony up last week, fans were quick to work out that he wasn’t the one who actually murdered him. But while they believed that, they still were unsure as to who did.
But last night’s episode saw Ruby tell him the truth – that it was her, and Caleb was going to clean it up when he saw Aaron and John had already done so. And fans agree that this outcome is far more fitting than anyone else being the culprit.
It was Ruby who killed Anthony (Credit: ITV)
Emmerdale Ruby kills Anthony
When Aaron left Anthony in the Depot, he was still alive, just badly beaten. But when he and John came back, he was dead. In another flashback we saw the truth of what happened in that short time between.
Ruby had gone to the Depot, and when she got there she saw Anthony in a bad state. She made the decision to leave him there and let him suffer. But her vile father reached out, grabbing her leg and she snapped.
Ruby no longer saw him as her father. She was able to recognise the monster he was, and knew she had the power to take revenge for the sexual abuse. So, she lifted a rag and suffocated him until he was dead.
The emotional performance yet again from Beth Cordingly has been applauded by fans (Give her the awards!) as they praise Ruby for taking that power back.

Fans applaud ‘fitting end’
Taking to X fans were quick to share their reaction to the revelation. And it was all positive.
One wrote: “So glad it was Ruby that killed him! If it was anybody that had to do it then it had to be her. She got her justice in her own way. Tonight’s episode was amazing, with great performances from Danny and Beth.”
Another penned: “I’m actually glad it was Ruby that killed Anthony after all the abuse he had done to her!”
A third simply praised the actors: “Beth Cordingly as Ruby is the best thing on TV right now.”
“You know what? Good for Ruby. She got the justice she wanted and needed. Glad it was her,” a viewer wrote.
The consensus being that Ruby was a far better choice than anyone else to have killed Anthony. And now that Aaron is in the clear, hopefully he doesn’t continue to spiral.
But with Laurel turning up to the police station, will they be caught just as everything is out in the open?

Fans of Emmerdale have been left irritated by Aaron Dingle‘s reaction to learning that Ruby was the one who murdered Anthony. Ruby’s confession came last night (Thursday, January 30) as she came face-to-face with a guilt-ridden Aaron.
Believing that he’d been the one to deliver the killing blow, Aaron confessed all – only for Ruby to reveal that it had actually been her. Sneaking into the depot after Aaron fled the scene, she smothered her molester father to death.
By the time Aaron and John returned to the scene, Anthony was dead, and John and Aaron set about cleaning up Ruby’s handiwork. Or should that be Aaron’s? It was essentially a group effort, but Aaron had a strong reaction to discovering he was innocent.

Aaron is overreacting, say Emmerdale fans as Ruby tells the truth
As the episode aired, fans took to social media to share their thoughts on this surprising turn of events. And many wondered why Aaron was making it all about himself.
“Aaron has actually lost the plot He has to be the victim doesn’t he?” said one fan.
“Aaron NEEDS to be the victim or he won’t accept it,” said another.
“Sorry why is Aaron making it all about him, why would she be thinking about him it’s not all about him god he’s infuriating!!” said a third frustrated viewer.
“Aaron making everything about him,” another said.

What happens next as Ruby reveals she killed Anthony?
Aaron’s mood does make some sense, given that he and John have spent the week covering up Anthony’s murder. This involved Aaron sneaking into Ruby and Caleb’s home to steal Anthony’s passport and keys, then moving his car to the garage.
The game was almost rumbled when Manpreet witnessed their dodgy conversation and overheard some curious sounds coming from the garage. However, cooler heads prevailed, and it looks as though they might have gotten away with it.

ITV soaps have has been hit with a change to their usual schedule time on Friday January 31- so what time is Emmerdale on tonight?
By now we all know the usual time slot for Emmerdale is 7.30pm on ITV. But that won’t be when you can watch it tonight.
It’s been a dramatic week in the Dales, and we expect the fallout from Ruby’s revelation last night will play a key part. So make sure you don’t miss the schedule change – as it will air half an hour earlier.

What time is Emmerdale on tonight?
Emmerdale tonight will now air at 7pm, half an hour earlier. This is because of the Rugby Six Nations.
While the match doesn’t kick off until 8.30pm, coverage begins an hour earlier, kicking Emmerdale out of it’s usual spot.
As it’s the first match of the league, we can expect there may be more Emmerdale schedule changes in the coming weeks. Coronation Street is also affected and that won’t air at all.
Of course the episode is already available to view on ITVX, so viewers can actually watch it whenever they like!

What happens in Emmerdale tonight?
In last night’s episode we saw the truth come out about what actually happened to Anthony.
While up until now viewers were expected to believe Aaron killed him (nobody really believed that, though), it turns out it was actually Ruby.
She found Anthony in the Depot after Aaron had beat him up. And when he tried to touch her, she saw him for the monster he was, and killed him. But when Caleb went to clear the evidence up, he saw John and Aaron had beaten him to it.
So, when Aaron heard this, he, John, Caleb and Ruby all formed a plan on how to keep it quiet. But Laurel had to ruin everything by going to the police station.
We can expect tonight will see the fallout of the reveal, and also of Laurel’s decision.
Elsewhere in Emmerdale tonight, Marlon is still determined to find April. But so far, the search has not been going well at all.
And as there still is no update, Marlon makes the decision to raise the reward for information. But all he really manages to do is cause more concern from Rhona, Mary and Ross.

Tonight’s episode of Emmerdale dropped the bombshell news that Ruby killed her abusive father, Anthony. Wracked with guilt because he thought he’d done it, Aaron turned up at her home, determined to confess to killing her father.
As he shared details from his past with Gordon, Aaron broke down and told her that he’d killed her dad. Unable to ease his guilt, Ruby saw no option but to come clean herself – revealing that she had been the one who finished the old man off.

Ruby reveals that she killed Anthony
As Ruby shared the truth, a flashback sequence showed her arriving at the depot after Aaron left. Discovering Anthony broken and bloody on the floor, she was disgusted when he reached out to touch her… and smothered him to death.
Aaron was appalled to discover that Ruby and Caleb – who was in on it – let him believe that he’d killed Anthony. He was ready to explode when she broke down, revealing that Anthony is in fact Steph’s biological father.
The truth is out… but what happens next?

What happens next as Ruby reveals she killed Anthony on Emmerdale
Emmerdale spoilers for next week are keeping the details of what happens next under wraps. But, with the pressure growing for all involved, it’s Caleb’s turn to struggle with a secret.
With Anthony having told him that Cain and Ruby slept together playing on his mind, Caleb confronts his brother. Cain denies the accusation outright, and demands to know where such an idea came from.
Caleb tells him that Anthony told him about their ‘affair’. Cain insists that Anthony was just stirring things up, but can Cain keep his secret buried?
