Rosemary King in Emmerdale: Cruel tricks, murder plot and a very grisly end!

Rosemary King is currently making Sadie’s life a misery in Classic Emmerdale as both her new and ex mother-in-law!

But while she started out as a thorn in Sadie’s side, she became a problem for the whole King family and met a VERY sorry end!

    Here’s the lowdown.

    Rosemary Sinclair

Rosemary arrived in Emmerdale early in 2006, as the disapproving future mother-in-law of Sadie King. Sadie was marrying Rosemary’s son, Alasdair, and Rosemary was NOT happy about it.

She tried to bribe Sadie on the wedding day, determined to put an end to the marriage before it had begun. Sadie refused, and the couple said their vows – but Matthew King turned up at the church and Sadie ran off with him instead!

Fuming, Rosemary made a deal with Sadie – she’d hand over the Sinclairs’ most valuable business if Sadie had the marriage annulled.

    Sadie agreed.

But when it came to the handover, Rosemary fleeced Sadie, revealing the business was worthless. And she even told Sadie the meal she’d just eaten had been made from her beloved horse, Cossack! As it turned out, Rosemary was lying but Sadie believed her.

    Rosemary returns to Emmerdale

In the summer of the same year, Rosemary returned to the village, with it being revealed she lived at nearby Oakwell Hall with her other son, Grayson, and his wife, Perdy.

She hit it off with Rodney Blackstock and Tom King – and soon saw an opportunity!

    Rosemary and Tom’s romance

Rosemary and Tom got on well and began working together on various business deals. But there was more to their friendship and they were soon romantically involved – much to the horror of Tom’s sons.

On the quiet, Rosemary was struggling. Her fancy house was owned by her nephew, and her son Grayson was quickly gambling away all the family fortune.

Chas Dingle, meanwhile, could see that despite Rosemary’s murky reasons for starting a relationship with Tom, the pair were actually happy together. She convinced the King brothers to leave them alone.

Rosemary repaid the kindness by encouraging Tom’s dislike of Chas. With Rosemary’s support, he bullied and blackmailed Chas into ending her relationship with Carl and moving out.

Tom and Rosemary’s eventful wedding day!

Rosemary and Tom tied the knot on Christmas Day in 2006. Tom announced he was giving Rosemary the Home Farm Estate as a wedding present. Needless to say, the brothers were fuming. And so was Rosemary when Tom added that he wanted her to leave it to Carl in her will, rather than Grayson.

And so she was one of the many suspects when Tom was pushed out of a window on the wedding day and died!

Rosemary after Tom’s death in Emmerdale

Rosemary stayed at Home Farm, though Matthew and Jimmy both thought she’d murdered Tom and wanted her to leave.

When she found out the brothers had organised Tom’s funeral while she was away, she stole the body.

Things got even more awkward when the will was read and it was revealed Tom had a daughter – Scarlett – who they’d never known about. He’d had a fling with her mother Carrie while she was nursing his first wife, Mary. What a gem, eh?!

Carrie and Rosemary became allies, and relations between the Kings got worse.

Meanwhile, Rosemary became good friends with Zak Dingle and took young Belle under her wing, even paying her school fees.

    Rosemary with Perdy and Grayson

    Grayson and Perdy

Rosemary’s meddling continued with her son’s marriage. Still covering for Grayson’s gambling, she was determined to get rid of Perdy and marry Grayson off to someone she considered better. She messed with Perdy’s medication and the poor woman ended up being sectioned!

When Grayson realised what his mother had done, he threw her out and told her to leave Emmerdale forever. Rosemary vanished without a trace.

How did Rosemary die in Emmerdale?

The first time Rosemary died, it was all a set-up! She’d staged her disappearance and framed Matthew for her murder.

She’d written a letter to Grayson explaining what she was doing, which Perdy found. Shocked she took it to the Kings, who handed it over to the police, and Matthew was freed.

When Rosemary found out the police were looking for her, she killed herself on Christmas Day 2007.  Her death happened off screen as she was hiding out in Miami!

She was buried with Tom but after the funeral, Matthew returned, dug up the coffin, put it in a bin lorry and crushed it!

Classic Emmerdale spoilers: Cain double-crosses Sadie as kidnap scheme comes to an explosive end

Cain Dingle leaves Emmerdale in Classic Emmerdale spoilers for episodes airing on ITV3 on Monday, February 24 – as his kidnapping of Tom and Sadie King finally comes to an action-packed end.

With the police on his tail, Cain takes action, shooting Sadie in a desperate double-bluff. And, as the Kings put together the ransom money, Cain stages his escape, double-crossing his partner in crime.

These episodes originally aired September 20 and 21 2006.

Cain is on the run in Classic Emmerdale spoilers

Tom infuriates Sadie by trying to bargain with Cain – telling him that he’ll name Sadie as the only kidnapper. Hearing a helicopter nearby, Cain panics and drives off with both of his hostages.

Back at Home Farm, tensions are fraught between the Dingles and the Kings. As they wait for news, Zak insists that Cain isn’t responsible for the kidnapping. Meanwhile, Matthew and Carl make arrangements to pay the ransom.

With Cain gone, Tom takes the opportunity to untie himself and Sadie. Sadie is unable to move her legs, and begs Tom not to leave her behind. Tom flags down an oncoming car – only to find himself staring down the barrel of Cain’s shotgun.

Having moved Tom and Sadie into a new car, Cain removes the BMW emblem and blows up the old one. As a police helicopter searches for Cain, DI Poulton gets a call about a burning car in a disused warehouse.

Sadie begs Cain to give himself up, but Cain refuses – telling her that he’s not finished with her just yet. Making a disguise from a hat and some glasses, Cain thinks he has the police fooled – but is annoyed when he sees a car coming after him.

Elsewhere, DS Jansen tells the Kings that they can pay the ransom, but have to tracking devices in the money cases.

    The police corner Cain

With the police still in hot pursuit, Cain makes a quick U-turn and drives straight at the police car – which swerves out of the way to avoid a terrible crash. Meanwhile, the chopper spots Cain’s car. As he ploughs through a gate, he heads towards the flooded Miller’s Quarry.

A terrified Zak tells the police not to corner Cain in the quarry for fear he’ll drive in. DI Poulton tells the officers to hold off and wait for armed backup.

Realising that he is cornered, Cain tries to get Sadie and Tom out of the car. Sadie teases Cain, and he slams the boot shut with her still inside.

Looking into the quarry, Cain lobs the BMW emblem inside. As DI Poulton informs Carl that he has divers on standby should Cain do anything stupid, Cain’s car speeds off the quarry edge – crashing through the fence and into the water below.

Cain shoots Sadie in Classic Emmerdale spoilers

As the Dingles and the Kings react with shock, officers learn that the car was empty. Having stolen a police car and unfirm, Cain is now holding Sadie and Tom hostage in a shack.

While Tom and Sadie bicker, she tells Tom to give Cain the money. However, Tom snaps back, telling Cain to do his worst. As Cain prepares to shoot Tom, the old man micks him for not having the bottle to be a real killer. He tells Cain to shoot Sadie to prove himself.

Cain shoots Sadie in the stomach, and she falls to the ground. As Tom looks on in horror, Cain orders him to ring Chas.

As Carl and Chas argue in the office, she lashes out, hitting until he snaps. He grabs her shirt, almost punches her before bursting into tears. Over the phone, Tom tells Carl to deliver the money to Lundale. Cain then knocks Tom out with the gun.

Debbie tries to make her dad see sense

Chas and Carl put on a performative argument, in which Carl throws Chas out – while he hides the money. They then take the money from the case. Horrified to learn that Cain has killed Sadie, Chas and Debbie go to see Cain, behind Matthew’s back. Chas tells Debbie to wait behind while she delivers the money.

Giving him half the cash, Chas confronts Cain over Sadie’s murder. He’s appalled to see Debbie turn up, and she makes it clear that she’s hurt he chose Sadie over her. She begs him not to go – but he insists that he has to, and bids his daughter goodbye.

Matthew is furious to discover that Carl has given Chas the ransom money. Learning that Cain killed Sadie, he’s left heartbroken.

A woman tries to help Cain, delivering a package to Debbie containing some money. Meanwhile, Carl is pleased to see that Tom is alive in the shack – but there’s no sign of Sadie anywhere.

The police learn that Cain and Sadie staged her ‘death’ as they get into a car together. She phones Zak and the Dingles learn that Cain is not a killer after all. The family are thrilled to discover that Cain has escaped.

Cain double-crosses Sadie in Classic Emmerdale spoilers

Sadie apologises for lying to Cain. She tells him that it would never have worked out with Jasmine’s baby. She informs him that the plane she hijacked from Zoe last year is waiting to take them both away.

However, Cain double-crosses her. He tells her that he’s taking the money and leaving her behind. He admits that he wanted to kill Sadie – feeling guilt over Dawn’s death – and would end up murdering her at some point regardless.

Cain gives her the car and gets in the plane alone, leaving Sadie on the runway.

As downbeat Zak feels sad that he’ll never see Cain again, Debbie gets a voicemail from Cain informing her that he’s taken the money and ditched Sadie. The family watch as his plane flies past, taking him away from Emmerdale forever…

With Robert’s feud with Andy at boiling point, the pair embarked on a lethal game of chicken. Except Max King had asked Andy for a lift and was in his Land Rover as he took on Robert. Andy crashed into a wall and though he escaped, Max was killed when the car blew up.

Wanting to avoid prison, Robert legged it and only returned to watch his dad Jack’s funeral from a distance.

    Robert returns to Emmerdale

Nine years after Max’s death, Robert returned to Emmerdale engaged to Chrissie White. By this time, Andy and Katie had rekindled their romance and were planning a wedding but Robert immediately began meddling.

He had offensive messages engraved on the pair’s wedding rings, leaving the newlyweds fuming!

    Killing Katie!

Desperate for revenge, Katie was convinced that Robert was cheating on Chrissie. She threw herself into finding out who he was having an affair with and was shocked to discover it was Aaron Dingle.

Robert and Katie had a furious argument ending with him shoving her and sending her plummeting through some rotten floorboards. Aaron and Robert covered it up and let Andy find his new wife, and assume it was a tragic accident.

When Paddy found out the truth, Robert tried to kill him in a grain silo.

    Who shot Robert in Emmerdale?

Andy was devastated and furious and wanted to get rid of Robert for good. He made a Strangers on a Train style deal with Ross Barton, each agreeing to kill the other’s brother.

When Robert was shot, there were a whole list of suspects, but Ross wasn’t among them! When Robert found out Andy had been involved there was another game of chicken (do they never learn?!). Andy crashed his car, but this time Robert pulled him from the wreckage and they called a truce.

    Robron

Robert and Aaron’s romance was one of fans’ favourite Emmerdale storylines of all time. During the drama of the Hotton by-pass crash, the pair got engaged and planned a huge wedding!

But of course nothing is that easy in Emmerdale! Aaron went back to prison for a bit, he had a brief drug addiction, and then Robert slept with his sister-in-law Rebecca White – mum to Seb who’s being mentioned on screen a lot at the moment. But finally Robron made it down the aisle!

However, their happiness – and fans’ pleasure at their union – wasn’t too last…

Emmerdale: Why is Robert in prison?

During a night out in Hotton, which was filled with drama, Victoria met a man called Lee Posner. He didn’t take no for an answer and raped her in her own house after the night out. Victoria was devastated and locked herself away for a while before she eventually told her shocked family the truth about the rape – and the fact that she was pregnant.

Lee got away with his crime, until Robert took his own revenge. He whacked Lee with a shovel and he died. Robert was sent to jail. He set Aaron free and has subsequently refused to see Victoria. We now also know he has signed his rights away to son Seb following Rebecca’s death.

Later we discovered that it was possibly Lee’s brother, Luke, who’d been responsible for killing him. But Robert remains behind bars.
