There’s a special flashback episode of Emmerdale tonight on Wednesday July 24, and spoilers reveal the extent of Belle’s suffering at the hands of abusive husband Tom.

Shocking scenes will show viewers how an idyllic trip to Wales turns into a living hell for tortured Belle. And Tom unveils his latest move to isolate his wife further away from her family back in Emmerdale.

    1. The clock is turned back

The episode begins in the aftermath of Cain and Charity’s horrific discovery at the holiday cottage. The pair went in search of Belle after realising she’s fallen victim to Tom’s abuse.

Arriving at the Welsh hideaway, Charity and Cain entered a scene of total carnage. The place was totally trashed, with blood up the walls and no sign of either Belle or Tom.

Confronted by such devastation, the duo are left fearing the worst. But what has happened to Belle? All is about to revealed as Emmerdale winds the clock back to the start of the week…

    2. Belle and Tom’s holiday begins in Emmerdale spoilers

Days earlier, the sun is rising over the Welsh countryside as Belle and Tom arrive at their holiday home. Belle is excited by the prospect of having a few days away, unaware that Tom is planning a permanent move.

The wicked vet is determined to get Belle as far away from her loved ones as possible. It’s a common tactic used by abusers, and Tom wants the Dingles to be a distant memory.

The couple enter the property seemingly loved-up and happy as they anticipate having a happy holiday. But it’s going to be anything but.

    3. Tom manipulates Belle

Belle is upset to have left her phone at home and has no means of contacting anyone. But that’s exactly what Tom – who deliberately stashed her mobile in a drawer – intended.

As the newlyweds settle into their new place, Tom wastes no time starting his manipulations. Having had her spirit broken by her sinister spouse, Belle doesn’t sense much is wrong. In fact, she’s hopeful their holiday has got off to a positive start.

But everything changes in an instant when Belle makes a shocking discovery.

    4. Belle fears for her life in Emmerdale spoilers

And as the flashbacks continue, the rest of the week unfolds. But what started out as a relaxing break away soon turns into a petrifying ordeal for Belle.

Spoilers: Jai makes Laurel’s life hell as their divorce gets ugly

Jai and Laurel have split up and in Emmerdale spoilers for next week he’s still not taking it well. In fact, he wants to punish her as he’s under the misguided belief she is out to get him.

But as his behaviour starts to make others feel uncomfortable, will Jai rein it in?

The divorce is final for Laurel

Laurel told Jai their marriage was over after she found out what he had done to Amit. Jai made things worse by only giving her the PG version of events and when Pollard told her everything – including the broken leg and locking Amit in a cupboard – Laurel told Jai to come clean to Suni.

When Jai couldn’t do it, Laurel called him weak and ended their marriage. She then had a heart attack and Jai thought this would make her reassess her decision and they’d get back together.

    Wrong.

In fact, it made Laurel more determined than ever to press ahead with their separation. They’ve now told the kids, Jai and Archie have moved out to Holdgate and last week things seemed civil between the exes.

    So what’s happened this week?

Jai makes work difficult in Emmerdale spoilers

Well, it seems Laurel has brought up solicitors and Jai is not happy. Mainly he’s not happy at her insensitive timing as she mentioned them on their wedding anniversary, which is also the anniversary of Rishi’s death. Maybe she could have waited a day…

Angry Jai takes his frustrations out on Laurel at the Hide. He begins making her life difficult, especially when he clocks her and Nicola talking. He assumes they are plotting against him so sets out to punish Laurel first.

Jai makes belittling comments to his estranged wife, and makes things at work very awkward. So much so, the other staff also notice it and begin to feel uncomfortable. They’re frankly fed-up of having to listen to him!

    Laurel stands up to Jai

Laurel stands her ground and insists she’s no pushover, but by this point Jai has got a real bee in his bonnet. He has decided that Laurel is out to get him. Jai believes she’s planning to take him for everything in the divorce.

Whether or not this is what she is thinking (we reckon likely not) Jai is determined to make sure it doesn’t happen. Can he put a stop to this imaginary plot? Or will Laurel decide he really is so petty she actually is going to rinse him in court?

Things hit a snag when Rose tried to entrap Will with drugged champagne and accidentally ended up poisoning daughter Dawn Fletcher!

The manipulative minx turned things round by framing Kim and making everyone believe it was a targeted attack against her. With Kim now banished to the B&B, Rose has now seemingly taken her love rival’s place at Home Farm.

Rose receives a call from Ruby

    Samson unfazed by prison life

So viewers know Moira will never forgive Samson for lying about the stabbing and putting her son Matty behind bars. Being trans, Matty had a particularly awful time inside and it was only when Lydia realised Samson was lying and that Matty had stabbed him in self-defence, did she put her foot down and insist Samson go to the police.

Sam was fuming as he wanted his son to do a runner instead of coming clean. But fortunately Samson finally found his morals – and although he refused to dob in ‘friend’ Josh, he got Matty out with his new version of the story.

However what it does mean is that Samson will be going to prison. He has his plea hearing coming up and as he’s pleading guilty is fully aware a stint inside is a definite. He says he’s fine with it and seems rather chilled about the whole situation.

Worried Lydia realises he’s got no idea of the reality of life behind bars, so Sam asks Aaron to give Samson a pep talk about life in prison.

Pregnant Ella looks to the future in Emmerdale spoilers

Ella’s return to the village has been nothing short of dramatic. After being involved in a car crash, the disgraced receptionist stunned Liam by revealing she was carrying his kid.

Liam didn’t respond well to the news and humiliated Ella by forcing her to take a pregnancy test. Despite all of this, Ella wants to make a future for her unborn child.

After booking in for a scan, Ella asks Mandy Dingle if she’ll hold her hand through the appointment. She also explains she’s undergoing a paternity test to prove to Liam the baby is his.

The former lovers are anxious as the sonographer takes a reading and flags up a problem. But then comes the big sucker punch – no foetus can be found.

Before anyone has the chance to explain, Liam jumps to the conclusion Ella must have invented the pregnancy.

After all, she has a track record of not telling the truth. And if she could conceal the fact she was a killer, Liam reckons it would be easy to fake a baby.

Seeing red, he accuses Ella of lying all along, pointing out that’s why she never wanted him at the scan.

With both men convinced Ella invented there being a baby to trap Liam, Paddy declares she’s truly unhinged.

But are they just assuming Ella’s a pathological liar without considering the other possibilities?
