Emmerdale spoilers: Belle makes another devastating discovery about Tom and realises she has to go to the police

In next week’s Emmerdale spoilers, Belle finds evidence of Tom’s hidden cameras in Dale Head. Sickened by the realisation she was being secretly filmed, Belle knows she must report Tom to the police. But can she find the courage to go through with it?

Tom remains at large in Emmerdale spoilers

Tom hasn’t been seen or heard from since he disappeared after getting sacked from the vets. And no one seems to know where he is. No one that is apart from Amelia. There’s rumours amongst the locals that Tom is still in contact with the young mum, and the pair have been secretly meeting.

This is of course alarming news, particularly for Belle, who knows how dangerous Tom is.

Belle is slowly trying to readjust to life after the horrors of the past few weeks. She’s moved out of the home she shared with Tom and back in with the Dingles at Wishing Well.

But Belle is forced to return to the scene of such heartache after Kim calls to say Dale Head has been turned upside down. Is Tom behind the carnage? Of course he is!

Belle and Lydia make a horrifying discovery

With Lydia by her side, Belle bravely lets herself into Dale Head to see what’s going on.

As confirmed by Kim earlier, the place is an absolute tip. But as Belle starts looking through the mess she discovers a screw on the floor from a mini camera. Belle’s blood runs cold as she realises Tom must have set the device up to spy on her, and wonders how many more of them they were.

The following day, Lydia tentatively encourages Belle to go to the police and report him for violating her privacy. But the thought of having relive such traumatic experiences and share personal footage in court is more than Belle can bear.

Lydia tries again, but Belle is adamant she can’t go through with reporting Tom.

Belle turns to Lydia for help

After taking a little time to reflect on things, Belle starts to realise what she must do.

She turns to Lydia for advice, and asks if she’ll share her experience of reporting rapist Craig Reed to the police. Lydia agrees, and starts reliving the harrowing details of her ordeal. It’s a deeply painful experience, but one which Lydia hopes will help Belle make the right choice about Tom.

That evening, the ladies reflect on their difficult day as they gaze across the Dingle land. In that poignant moment they are united in their support for one another.

All Lydia can do now is hope she’s said enough to encourage Belle to take action. Can she find the courage to tell the police about Tom?

Moira’s family rally round in Emmerdale spoilers

    1. Moira is in a state of shock

At last we all know what’s wrong with Moira, and as we feared it’s bad news. The Dingle mum has been diagnosed with a non-cancerous tumour after doctors detected a mass on her brain.

The type of brain tumour that Moira has is a meningioma. It’s the reason she’s been suffering from symptoms such as seizures, erratic outbursts, confusion and memory loss.

As the week begins, Moira is still struggling to come to terms with her illness. She knows it’s going to be a long and difficult road ahead.

    2. Moira meets with her neurosurgeon

Moira meets with her neurosurgeon, who outlines her options for treatment. But what’s already an anxious situation is made worse by her family’s constant interjections.

The surgeon proposes they use a ‘watch and wait’ method to monitor the tumour’s growth. But both Moira and Mack struggle to get their head round this idea.

Will Moira insist on another course of action?

Traumatised Cain’s consumed with guilt over his inability to realise how seriously ill Moira was. And as the grim reality sets in, so does his anger.

Later, Cain is by his wife’s side as they discuss the doctor’s plan for her treatment. Their lives have been turned upside down and it’s clear both of them are scared for what will happen next.

But Cain starts to fear they may not have much time left when Moira shows signs of further neurological deterioration. Can she be saved?

    4. Chas is scared for Amelia’s safety

Tom is still laying low after being publicly exposed as a violent abuser. His treatment towards Belle has become the talk of the village, but Amelia is convinced her fella is innocent. Seriously girl, wake up!

Chas interrupts Amelia secretly stashing food into her bag and knows at once who it’s for. The pair have a heated debate about Tom, and Chas can’t believe her ears when brainwashed Amelia continues to defend him.

    5. Amelia clashes with Kerry

Chas shares her concerns about Amelia with Amy and Kerry, who are equally worried for her safety. Kerry, being Kerry, wants to go in all guns blazing, but Amy urges her mum to take a more tactful approach.

However, within minutes of Amelia’s arrival, an argument erupts over her refusal to see Tom’s true colours.

Frustrated, Amelia storms off, while Amy warns Kerry if they push too hard they risk losing her to Tom for good.

Spoilers: Amelia stands by Tom as Amy tries to make her see sense

Tom King’s secret is out – and as the village closes ranks around Belle, Emmerdale spoilers reveal that Amelia continues to stand by her man.

In recent weeks, Belle revealed the truth about her husband to a shocked Charity and Cain – who instantly believed her claims. While others in the village have also come around to Belle’s version of events, Amelia hasn’t been so easily convinced. Rejecting the idea that Tom could have been abusing Belle, she remains one of his staunchest defenders.

And, as Tom disappears, gullible Amelia still appears to be in his pocket.  As Amelia continues to defend Tom from criticism by Kerry and Chas, Amy tries to make her see sense.

Will Amelia listen to reason before Tom sinks his claws in even deeper?

    Amelia stands her ground

Chas catches Amelia stowing food away in her bag and instantly suspects it’s for Tom. After a heated argument over Tom’s innocence, Chas is left shocked by her continued defence.

Later, she discusses her concern for Amelia with Amy and Kerry. While Kerry wants to tackle the situation head-on, Amy tries to convince her to be tactful.

But when Amelia arrives, the conversation quickly turns into another argument over Tom. Frustrated, Amelia storms off.

Amy urges Kerry not to push Amelia too hard for fear that she’ll shut them all out.

Amy tries to get through to Amelia

Later, Amy is concerned when she overhears Amelia telling Vanessa that it was a bad idea to suspend Tom from the surgery.

  • What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Moira discovered her fate and no one knows where Nate is, plus Tom’s lurking again

What happened in Emmerdale tonight: Moira discovered her fate and no one knows where Nate is, plus Tom’s lurking again

In Emmerdale tonight Moira got the news from the doctors she’d been dreading: she has a brain tumour. It took Cain some persuading to be by her side, but eventually he turned up to support her. Phew.

But one person no one had seen is Nate. They think he’s left for Shetland, but there’s a lot of holes in that theory as far as we’re concerned – so where is he?

The aftermath of the fire in Emmerdale tonight

Moira lay in hospital looking anxious (Credit: ITV)

Moira got her diagnosis and Cain grew up

Brooding Cain was back as he headed to the Dingles’ homestead and tried to distract himself from going to the hospital by fixing their van. Sam attempted to talk sense into him, but Cain didn’t want to listen. He said he couldn’t handle it whatever the outcome of Moira’s tests. Grow up, man!

Everyone gave him a talking to insisting he needed to go to Moira’s side. But it was Belle who finally got through. Cain arrived at the hospital just as the specialist was talking Moira through her condition. It turns out she has a brain tumour known as meningioma.

They are discussing treatment options, but there is a possibility of brain surgery, which obviously terrified Moira. Finally though, Cain stepped up to be the husband she deserves and was by her side. Something good comes out of bad, we suppose.

This was the last time anyone saw Nate - when he was talking John (Credit: ITV)
This was the last time anyone saw Nate – when he was talking John (Credit: ITV)

    Where is Nate?

With most of his nearest and dearest still shaken by the fire, not a lot of thought has been given to Nate, it seems. Only John seems very certain of where he is and he has told everyone Nate has gone to Shetland – and they all just believe he just upped and left without bothering to say goodbye. Mack then broke the news to Cain that Nate had gone.

So, Nate didn’t say goodbye to Cain and Moira, Tracy, Mack or his beloved daughter Frankie? He’s not answering his phone to anybody? And no one’s seen him since he was with John, clearly in a lot of pain, riled up and going to confront Moira? If this isn’t raising alarm bells in even best friend Mackenzie then we’re done with the lot of them. Clearly he’s not just gone. But we still don’t know exactly where he is…

    Belle’s struggle continued

Cain hugs Belle in Emmerdale tonight and both look emotional
Cain will protect Belle now, phew (Credit: ITV)

Belle found out Cain was a good guy

Scared and concerned, Belle didn’t want to leave Charity’s house. But Charity made her stop hiding away.

Belle did go outside, where she saw Amelia who had another go at her for badmouthing Tom. If we’re honest, it’s a toss-up between Amelia and Tracy as to who is the most annoying person in Emmerdale at the moment.

Belle meanwhile confronted Cain over what he’d done to Tom. Cain denied any wrong doing, clearly he’s been preoccupied with other things. But also he promised Belle he was doing things her way, which was very sweet (now why can’t he give Moira some of that sweet side?!)

    Tom did some more lurking

As Belle then turned her panic to where Tom could be lurking (which we all know he’s very good at) he was meeting up with Amelia in the woods.

Turns out he’s not dead or injured and hasn’t actually fled. Instead, he’s biding his time and using Amelia as his spy to get evidence so he can supposedly get a divorce from Belle. Then it’ll be all lovely and he and Amelia can be together and live happily ever after. “I always win, in the end,” he told her.

And so it turns out Amelia really is as thick as two short planks believing he’s a good guy. Sigh.

Kim Tate tells Will Taylor her horse has been stolen in Emmerdale

Will was under pressure in Emmerdale tonight

Are we still bothered by who’s blackmailing Will? Is it just so completely obvious Kim is behind it all that we’ve lost interest?

Well, for anyone who’s still into the storyline, Will discharged himself from hospital and stormed home shouting for Kim. Instead he found a detective in his living room. Will was worried sick and it turned out Kim’s horse Tally has been stolen. She claimed to have put up a good fight, but couldn’t stop them. The police wanted to know if anyone had a grudge against them, but Will, acting shifty, denied it.

As soon as the police had gone, eagle-eyed Kim asked him about his watch and why he wasn’t wearing it. Will spun a story about the horse-napper taking the watch too. Did Kim buy it? Well, she seemed to, all-to-easily if you ask us. More and more this stinks of Kim Tate being behind it all – we mean, exactly how did she know to ask about the watch?

    Also in Emmerdale tonight…

John’s sticking around. He’s agreed to hang on at the farm while everything is going on. Stalky sister Victoria is thrilled.

Elsewhere, Ruby was feeling guilty about winding Moira up, knowing the fire wouldn’t have happened if she hadn’t been there. Ruby went to see Moira and was weirdly quite nice and supportive and we’re not sure how comfortable it made us feel.

Meanwhile, Caleb took a mystery call on Ruby’s phone and told the caller he knew who it was and not to call again. He then blocked the number. But later he was clearly preoccupied by it all.

Oh good, more secretive callers, just what Emmerdale, and Caleb for that matter, needs.

  • A history of violence: What happened between Tom and Chas

A history of violence: What happened between Tom and Chas

The residents of Emmerdale are starting to cotton onto Tom King‘s abuse of wife Belle, with Chas being the latest to learn what he’s been up to .

Like Charity and Cain before her, Chas immediately believed Belle’s version of events, and quickly leapt to her defence as Jimmy and Amelia stressed over missing Tom.

As they bickered over whether or not Belle is telling the truth, Chas and Charity reminded Jimmy of Tom’s none-too savoury history in the Dales. In particular, his stalking of Chas a few years ago.

But what went down between Chas and Tom?

    Tom terrorises Chas

Tom made Chas’s life a misery in the wake of his dad Carl’s death. Blaming her for the murder (in spite of it being Cameron who had delivered the killing blow), Tom made it his life’s mission to bring Chas to task.

During this time, Tom sent Chas a series of sinister images in the post – depicting her and Carl together, with her eyes scratched out. He would also call the Woolpack from a withheld number, terrorising her over the phone.

    Young Tom King on Emmerdale

    Tom unmasked as Chas’s stalker

His campaign of targeted stalking escalated as he threw a bottle at her outside of the pub, leaving Chas with minor injuries.

He was caught out while trying to graffiti the walls of her home. After being disturbed by Gabby Thomas, Chas and Jimmy gave chase – and unmasked him as her stalker.

It was then that Tom revealed he wanted revenge on her for his father’s death. Chas’s apologies and pleas that she had only been acting in self-defence fell on deaf ears.

That anyone would believe Tom King at all is particularly surprising given his behaviour towards Chas in the past. How quickly people forget!

The identity of Will’s blackmailer remains a mystery, but they’re certainly a persistent individual. The anonymous tormenter has been threatening to ruin Will’s life by exposing his affair with Rose.

In exchange for the silence, the blackmailer demanded £10k. Will agreed to pay up, but was secretly planning to use the money as bait to reel his stalker in. A time and date was arranged, but Will missed the drop after getting caught up in the barn fire at Butlers Farm.

His blackmailer warned Will this wasn’t the end of it. And it seems they’ve stayed true to their word when Kim finds herself the victim of a shocking crime.

  • 8 reasons Emmerdale totally deserved their NTA win

8 reasons Emmerdale totally deserved their NTA win

Emmerdale won big at the National Television Awards last night, scoring the Serial Drama prize. In doing so, the soap regained its crown after being beaten by BBC competitor EastEnders last year.

At last night’s ceremony, it was announced that the general public had voted for Emmerdale to win.

Here are the 8 big reasons we think it’s a well-deserved win for Emmerdale.

Belle stands up to Tom as he tries to manipulate her
It’s been hard to watch, but Belle and Tom’s story has been one of the soap’s strongest (Credit: ITV)

    1. Strong storylines

This year’s Emmerdale has largely been consumed by the horrifying saga of Belle Dingle‘s abusive marriage to Tom King. Once he’d fooled her into saying ‘I do’ with his nice guy act, Tom let the mask drop, and embarked on a horrific campaign of coercive control which left Belle at his mercy – and questioning everything she thought she knew about her marriage.

Ruby stares Kim Tate down in Emmerdale spoilers

    2. Great characters

Love or hate them, Emmerdale has some of the best characters on television at the moment – both new and established. One of the recent additions that viewers love to hate is Ruby Fox-Miligan, who quickly set the cat among the pigeons following her arrival in the village. In doing so, she has clashed with Kim Tate and Moira Dingle – earning a signature ‘Glasgow kiss’ from the latter last week.

Meanwhile, John Sugden has sparked countless fan theories since his arrival last month, quickly getting hot and steamy with Aaron Dingle.

Traumatised Belle Dingle has a choice to make in Emmerdale

    3. Excellent performances

Fans have hailed Eden Taylor-Draper‘s performance as one of the best the soap has ever seen. At the heart of Tom and Belle’s story,  the star has taken it all in her stride. She lost out to Coronation Street’s Peter Ash (who played the late Paul Foreman) in winning a trophy for her performance, but Eden deserves all of the awards for having to put up with Tom King’s vile abuse.

And, talking of, we may hate terrible Tom, but there’s no denying that James Chase has done excellent work in making his character the most slappable soap villain of 2024.

Belle imagined her future (Credit: ITV)
A recent episode explored Belle’s emotional distress (Credit: ITV)

    4. Inventive direction

The soap has gotten experimental in recent weeks; Moira experiencing hallucinations of old foe Emma Barton; an episode from Belle’s perspective which followed her as she explored potential futures with husband Tom. It’s thinking outside of the box and we love it.

    Emmerdale's barn is on fire

    5. Explosive action

While its cast were busy winning an award for the soap, Emmerdale aired one of the most explosive scenes of the year so far. With Moira and Ruby trapped in a burning barn, a devastating explosion rocked the farm – leaving two beloved characters potentially dead.

As Cain, Mack and John raced to rescue Moira and Ruby from the deadly inferno, viewers were left on the edge of their seats. Boom.

Belle looks confused and upset as Charity worries about her in Emmerdale tonight

    6. Powerful writing

Yes, it’s Belle and Tom again, but the soap deserves all the kudos for Belle and Charity’s big conversation – during which she outlined exactly what her husband had been up to. Viewers’ hearts broke afresh as Belle finally confided in Charity, putting all of that pain and self-doubt into words.

And then it did it all over again the next day, once Cain learned what Tom had been doing. Defying expectation, Cain stormed off as Charity revealed the truth – only to turn up on Belle’s doorstep to envelop his little sister in a big, comforting hug. Devastatingly observed by the soap writers.

    7. Heartwarming comedy

If the scenes of dogs being run over, Moira losing her marbles and Tom being an all-around evil monster were too much, Emmerdale can still be relied upon to bring the humour. And this year it’s been Mandy’s turn to bring the comedy. Embarking on a get-rich scheme, Mandy became a Financial Dominatrix for dosh. Her marriage to Paddy was in doubt for a while, but it all came good in the end.

‘Tom has a point’ say fans as he’s fired by Vanessa and Rhona

The news is out about Tom King – and the residents of Emmerdale have begun to react to the revelation that they have an abuser in their midst.

Belle came clean to Charity about the months of abuse she’d endured at Tom’s hands in recent months – and she was believed without hesitation. Next up, Cain, who resisted the urge to give Tom the beating of his life to lend Belle his unyielding support also.

But would Belle’s friends and neighbours be so quick to believe Belle’s claims?

As it happened, yes. Gullible Jimmy King and Amelia Spencer aside, everyone who has found out so far believes Belle – including Tom’s employers, Rhona and Vanessa.

    Angry Rhona fires abusive Tom

As they discussed Belle’s claims, Rhona reminded Vanessa of the awkward dinner party they’d attended a few months ago. It was obvious to Rhona that Tom has been abusing Belle – and she kicked herself for not noticing the signs sooner.

Tom was in for a rude awakening as he arrived at work. Rhona told him that she wanted him gone, and fired him on the spot.

Visibly shaken, Tom warned her that an unfair dismissal lawsuit could land the vet’s surgery in trouble. But is Tom right?

‘Tom is right,’ warn Emmerdale fans

As the episode aired, fans took to social media to share their thoughts on Tom’s firing. And a few worried that Tom might be right in his threats to sue Rhona and the surgery.

“Tom has a point, unfair dismissal will get him pennies!” wrote one fan.

“He’ll sue for unfair dismissal now or something like that 🙄” said another.

“I was glad to see Rhona and Ness having Belle’s back and firing Tom, but I can definitely see him going down the unfair dismissal route…” suggested a third.

However, another pointed out that Tom may not have a leg to stand on after all. “IIRC in real life, you can only claim unfair dismissal after 2 years service. I feel like they saying he’s only been there 16 months was very much on purpose!”

    Phew!

As Moira and Ruby are trapped in the flames – a warning to Emmerdale residents to steer clear of barns!

Barns in Emmerdale aren’t just for storing hay, or keeping animals away from the elements. Oh no. In Emmerdale, barns are super dangerous places, where you could burn in a raging fire, be held hostage by a vengeful enemy, get shot at, or even be electrocuted!

But don’t take our word for it – we’ve trawled the Emmerdale archives to find the most dangerous, shocking and downright disastrous events that have taken place in barns.

Here’s our round-up of the biggest dramas that have happened in barns in Emmerdale!

    Kyle shoots Al

Al Chapman met a sorry end in a barn, when young Kyle Winchester accidentally shot him. Kyle was watching on as his dad Cain argued with Al, wanting him to leave the village. And when Kyle picked up the shotgun Cain had brought with him, he accidentally pulled the trigger. Al died, and Cain took the blame for the killing at first, before Kyle confessed. Eventually the case against Kyle was dropped.

    Paul Ashdale’s truck horror

As Mandy Dingle prepared to marry Paul Ashdale, she was unaware that he had been abusing their son Vinny. Vinny’s girlfriend Liv, though, knew what was going on and she headed up to the barn where the wedding was being held, ready to confront the groom.

Faced with Liv’s accusations, Paul lashed out, but as he attacked Liv, Jimmy was driving past in a truck. He lost control and the truck smashed into the barn. Liv and Jimmy both survived, but Paul was killed. And no one really missed him!

    Tom’s shock

When Tom King discovered his wife Belle had been to an abortion clinic and lied about it, he was furious. So furious, in fact, that he smashed up the barn. But while he was getting aggressive with inanimate objects, he accidentally hit the barn’s isolator with a metal bar. Sparks flew as an electric shock knocked Tom out cold.

Moira and Emma’s blazing barn barney

When Ruby confronted Moira this week, the struggling Ms Dingle thought Ruby was Emma Barton. She was remembering the dramatic scenes when she and Emma came face-to-face in a barn as Emma confessed to killing her husband, James. The confession led to a struggle, which led to a lamp being knocked over and the barn going on fire. Oh and while all that was going on, Moira was in labour having not even known she was pregnant. Pretty dramatic, huh?

    Wylde confession

Right, listen carefully because this is a bit complicated. Nathan’s mum, Natasha, murdered his dad, Mark and Nathan found out. Nathan managed to pin Mark’s murder on his half-brother Ryan Lamb, who went to prison for the crime. But Cain Dingle kidnapped Nathan and together with Nathan’s sister, Maisie, held him hostage in a barn. They tried to get Nathan to confess to the murder only to be shocked when Nathan revealed Natasha was the killer!

    Debbie’s revenge

Debbie Dingle fell head over heels for Cameron Murray, unaware that a) her aunt Chas was also sleeping with him and b) he’d turn out to be one of Emmerdale’s most sinister serial killers. Deb was terribly upset when she found out about Chas (though not as upset as she was when she found out about the whole murderer thing) and tied her auntie up in a barn. Debbie held Chas at gunpoint but fortunately Charity and Cain arrived just in the nick of time.

    Sarah Sugden and Richie Carter

    Sarah’s tragic death

Andy Sugden loved his adopted family so much that he was prepared to take criminal action to protect them. He was convinced the family’s troubles were due to financial pressure – not knowing that his mum Sarah was having an affair with lodger Richie Carter. Wanting to help, Andy set fire to the barn, thinking Jack could claim on the insurance and ease their money troubles.

But Sarah was in the barn with Richie – ironically, breaking up with him having decided Jack was the man for her after all. Richie escaped but Sarah was killed when the barn exploded.

    David takes revenge

Troubled teen Lachlan White sexually assaulted Alicia Metcalfe and her husband David wasn’t happy about it. Not wanting to wait for justice, David kidnapped Lachlan and took him to an abandoned barn. He managed to force a confession out of Lachy but it didn’t make him change his ways – he just got worse from then on and eventually turned to kidnap himself, along with murder.

Emmerdale spoilers: Dingles and Kings at war as accusations fly about Tom’s abuse

In next week’s Emmerdale spoilers, battle lines are drawn between the Dingle and King families over Belle’s accusations against Tom. Protective Jimmy doesn’t believe his nephew is a violent abuser, but Belle’s sister-in-law Lydia knows different. It’s war!

Belle and Tom’s split causes a divide in Emmerdale spoilers

Belle and Tom’s very public split has become the talk of the Dales.

Viewers will know Belle ended her marriage after suffering months of horrendous mental and physical abuse. Tom controlled every aspect of his wife’s life – spying on her through hidden cameras, threatening revenge porn and even making Belle believe her beloved pooch, Piper had died.

Tom then started a relationship with Amelia in a calculated bid to make Belle jealous. The thought of Amelia becoming Tom’s next victim was a terrifying one for Belle. Haunted by her imagined futures, she finally found the courage to speak up about her ordeal.

Belle turned to Charity and Cain and told them everything Tom had done to her. Cain resisted the urge to beat the living daylights out of his sister’s abuser, telling Belle they would go to the police when she was ready.

But it wasn’t long before rumours about Tom’s coercive control started to spread.

    Tom covered his tracks

As Belle’s revelations became the talk of the Dales, panicked Tom knew he had to act.

He removed the hidden cameras planted in the cottage, but had a close call when Jimmy almost caught him. Ever the master manipulator, Tom made his uncle believe Belle’s accusations were the ravings of an unstable woman. Jimmy fell for it and pledged his support to his nephew.

However, Rhona and Vanessa weren’t so gullible. They fired Tom from his job at the vets with immediate effect.

Shortly after getting the sack, Tom did a disappearing act. It was feared Cain had gone back on his word and taken revenge on Tom.

Jimmy and Lydia clash over Tom

The fallout continues as Jimmy and Lydia have a run-in at the cafe.

Jimmy defends Tom, insisting he’s an innocent victim, but Lydia isn’t having it. She, like the rest of the Dingles, has wised up to Tom’s wickedness and wants justice for Belle.

Can Lydia make Jimmy realise what kind of a monster his nephew is? Or is there about to be a full-scale Dingle/King war?

We know whose side we’re on.
